I went here on a spiritual retreat with my local church. There was a mix up with the rooms but the staff was more than happy to sort it out. I did lose my key card but they replaced it no question asked and they didn't charge me. The food and drinks are very pricey but your better off going to the near by mall which is a lovely 5 minute walk! They had a swimming pool which I didn't use. The staff are very friendly here.

Another great stay at the Hilton.
Staff are always very friendly (especially with our kids!).
Great food in the bar.
Executive lounge is good, although lacking some in hot food choices.
Pool which is free to use was excellent, with warmest water temperatures I’ve had for an indoor pool.

My stay was very good.
I was very pleased & surprised about the restaurant. The food was great: I’m vegan and the vegan dishes were excellent. Also all of the staff in the hotel are the kindest and professional human beings. I also very much enjoyed the swimming pool (nice warm water) and the gym.

I have just returned from a 2 night stay at this Hotel to visit Resorts World with my Grandson. On arrival was greeted by a lovely Asian girl at Reception who was very friendly and allocated a nice room on 2nd floor at front of the Hotel it was very modern and clean.
The breakfast was delicious special Thanks to Sheroo in the restaurant who went out of her way to find 2 breakfast trays as the plates were very hot also a restaurant Manager who personally brought me a cup of tea to my table you are all a credit to your company sorry I didn't get your name you worked Friday morning.
I would definitely return if I decide to visit again.
Great job guys!

This hotel was not what we had expected having stayed in another Hilton Hotel the week previous that was not up to standard.
From our arrival to departure the staff were so helpful, especially Michael who assisted us to our room, as were all reception staff.
We had two small dogs with us so didn't expect a plush room at all so were pleasantly surprised when Michael showed us our room, which was beautiful and very comfortable.
We were also very surprised at how lovely the breakfast room was and how well organised things were given it was so busy.
Unfortunately for us we only booked one night due to attending the Caravan and Motorhome show at NEC, but we liked this hotel so much we did consider staying an extra night to get more use of the facilities.
If ever we need to be in Birmingham again, we will be sure to book again.

I have just stayed in this hotel for 3 nights... I had a fantastic room will a lovely view... so clean and spacious.... the meals were 5 star and the staff were very helpful... highly recommended 👌
L. K.
Never experienced such welcoming staff who clearly enjoy their job. The refurbishment not affecting our stay. The lack of window is cleverly disguised by a mirror, but it would be nice to have a fresh air exchange in the room.
N. B.
Great refurb. New bar layout generated a great atmosphere. Didn’t get 5 stars because I did not like the buffet restaurant- overpriced for a very average meal that you had to get yourself.
J. D.
The room was very nice and comfortable. The only thing I would have to complain about is the burgers that we ordered on room service. It cost us almost £50 for 2 burgers and a handful of chips each, it was honestly the worst burger I’ve ever had in my life. I would stay here again, I would not have room service here again.

WOW ! our room was wonderful so clean ! Your reception staff were very helpful, your bar tenders were so engaging & chatty, The breakfast team were just lovely so welcoming cheerful & happy, The team member with burgundy red hair was a real credit to your hotel.
The function room we used was perfect
The bar food we had was super, we had the sharing platter it was delicious.
Thank you so much for a wonderful few days

Been there to meet a colleague and work in the bar/restaurant area. The seating is pretty good so as the options to food/drinks. Quite convinient if you have to catch a flight. Would try staying there next time to see how the rooms and hospitality is. If you have to be in the city, I would not really recommend this as it takes a good half an hour taxi ride, but if staying close to airport is your thing, I'd definitely recommend!
L. B.
The staff at this hotel are what make the stay absolutely brilliant. They are so friendly, hard working and attentive - couldn't ask for more.
I'm sure once the hotel has finished its renovations, it would be worth the extra star, but it loses one for "value for money" as it's very expensive and currently without access to the leisure facilities
A. G.
Used the hotel as it was close to the M42, so location was perfect for us. Overall the hotel was good, great breakfast, good large bed, shower was powerful but the room was a little on the cold side.
N. D.
we stayed here 2 nights and 3 days, check in was easy and quick, beautiful but a bit small executive room , the room was clean and the housekeeping staff cleaned it everyday with fresh linen and toiletries too. daily top up with coffee in the room, great health club facilities except they haven't got a spa hence I gave 4 star. Massive spread of breakfast options, Chef Dorota made a yummiest omelette we ever had in any hilton, all the restaurant staff were so kind and friendly, Location of this hotel is also amazing , by the lake and RESORTS WORLD , NEC . overall it was a lovely stay.
g. s.
Great location to the NEC but A disappointing experience on a recent two day stay. The hotel is still going under refurbishment so there are literally holes everywhere. Our room was an executive king so we had access to a private lounge but it was closed. The executive lounge had a temporary home in a conference room but was only open 6pm - 8pm. Our room on the 4th floor even though it was newly refurbished still had problems and who ever signed off the new work in this room must be blind, screws missing from doors, mirror not properly attached, rail in the wardrobe broken. the plumbing was terrible low pressure meant filling a bath took ages and the shower pitiful with the dial cranked round to 50 degree was just hot enough. We had 2 power outages in our room over 2 days using the supplied hairdryer !! Heating the room is an issue with an extra electric heater for warmth. House keeping don't seem to know that a king size bed needs a king size duvet....we had a double duvet tucked into king size duvet cover..if it hadn't been for a spare duvet in the cupboard we would have left that night. Oh and not to forget the dodgy lobby C lifts sometimes a scarey long wait until the lift decides to move
C.
Great location, beautiful hotel and rooms. Huge refurbishment taking place but it doesn't encroach on your visit.
The only issue I had was the shower, not great, seems straight out of the 80s with a nudge either ice cold or Sahara hot. Hopefully with the refurbishment new power showers will be fitted and then this place will have everything!!
J. S.
Not been here for a couple of years, so glad I went back. Had a really good night. The bar menu was very good. Reasonable on the price and as u can see, not bad on the food either. Very helpful staff and very pleasant.
J. L.
Another example of Hilton performing some magic! I stayed last night as I was attending a ceremony and realised I'd forgotten a tie. Searched all over Birmingham and couldn't find anything suitable, asked a very helpful staff member and h came back with about 15! Bar was very nice, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was good. Great work guys!
H. J.
Wonderful experience at new year. Rooms were really lovely, spacious and clean. Good facilities on offer and breakfast was yum 😋
S. H.
This is a great hotel, ideal for shows at the Arena. We had 2 double recently refurbished rooms which were very clean, the beds are great and we were given complimentary breakfasts and parking . Staff were very friendly and service is excellent. Will definitely stay again , great for children too
F.
Great friendly staff. Clean and modern feel. Plenty of space in the bar…which was 24hr. 🍷
Rooms were a little too small and the open plan toilet/bathroom felt a little odd.
The signage/way-showing was pretty awful on the ground floor, and it was difficult to navigate around the corridors.
C. B.
Comfortable with helpful and pleasant staff... Thank you in particular to Sarah Jane who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful with my dietary requirements at breakfast!
M. H.
I stayed in a deluxe king (renovated in 2021) no problems with the room which was very comfortable, food and drink in the bar was enjoyable but on the pricey side.
L. M.
Really lovely place, had a great time, meeting room was way too hot though. Nice room and sublime food!
G. H.
As lots of reviewers have mentioned this hotel is undergoing renovations. Despite this the hotel is in reasonable condition. The employees at the hotel, notably, all of the breakfast crew (very welcoming, super friendly and attentive) and Ben working on reception, who was very helpful at check-in, are being severely undermined by the owners of the establishment.
S. M.
Nice hotel with grand entrance and reception area. Free parking for me that period. Well prepared rooms, fully equipped. The hotel has everything you need, good breakfast and a good bar area. The rooms are getting a bit dated
M. B.
Bedrooms were without tea or coffee .. no mini bar either .. beer was £6 a pint .. cheap red wine £27 a bottle..
Everything was clean and tidy. It's a mission to find your room .. but at £6 a pint you will be sober anyway
C.
It's a lovely hotel. Lots of trees around the building. There's some fun places around the hotel as well eg Bear Grylls Adventure. The hotel is spotless, staff are polite and helpful
A. W.
Handy to stay if you are at a convention or going to the NEC. The staff are lovely but the room wasn't as clean as I would have liked. The breakfast was all good though and we got a bar credit becuase the executive lounge was closed. Hopefully once the refurbishments are done it will be more of the standard you would expect from a Hilton.
C. L.
Easy to find, straight off of the M6 act 6. Very clean, lovely decor. Staff impeccably dressed, very friendly and helpful. 5* no doubt 💪🏼
K.
The refresh has really updated the lobby of this hotel.
Food is decent but the drinks were a tad strong.
M. L.
Excellent location in close proximity to the airport. Very professional and friendly staff. Ample parking on site charged at reception.
A. E.
Within the NEC Birmingham Grounds, this is a fab fab fabulously nice place to stay. Easily accessible by public transport, yes a walk, yet think of the exercise from Birmingham International Railway Station which is also easy accessible too for Birmingham International Airport by the Free Monorail to and from the airport hence ..no need for a car & charges or..a taxi. Great staff, fab bar, excellent food, atmosphere great too thank you..oh and the place is having a total makeover upgrade so is probably even better now than when I was here
A. D.
Corridors and other bits aroud the rooms were a bit shabby. Prices in the bar were high. 3 diet cokes (from the gun) were £13.50. 3 doubles were £41..my room had no window.
F. W.
From the beginning of my stay till the end I have to say the team could not have been any better. I travel a lot and the Hilton Birmingham metropole Hotel is top of the list. Clean front of house and public areas to clean, warm and comfortable rooms.. Well done Hilton keep up the good work.....
A.
Lovely place to stay but my room key didn't work but they sorted it straight away but was annoying as such a big hotel to go all the way back to reception. Very nice time here though.
T. H.
Hotel is huge. Easy to get lost. Decent food and room absolutely fine too. Expensive wine...
M. I.
Room and bar are really nice. Very good range of food (if overpriced, but that's a hotel for you). Had to take a star off as the pool and executive lounge are closed. Otherwise, excellent hotel.
K. B.
I must say I wasn't looking forward to my stay here as I was only made aware of the renovations at the last minute. However, from check in to check out every member of staff we met could not have been more helpful or friendly. We were checked in and out my Cassiah(sorry if that spelling is incorrect). She really went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. She even helped us get breakfast on the second morning as the queue was very long and we needed to leave. The hotel restaurant- yes it was expensive but no more so than other hotel prices. Again the staff could not have been more welcoming and Aarti looked after us so well despite being very bust. All in all I would definitely stay here again.
G. T.
Stunning, superb and excellent. The kind of service all hotels should aspire to and facilities worth bragging about.
N. C.
Stayed at this hotel for 1 night whilst seeing Steps and Sophie Ellis Bexter. Hotel was clean and the staff were professional and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment but there is clear signage and friendly staff for when you are confused about where you are going,
J. A.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, pricey but worth for those who cam afford it. Visited for a convention, didn't stay so can't comment on the rooms but the staff were all friendly and helpful and it was immaculately clean. 👍🏻
s. d.
Single rooms are adequate. Showers leak big time.
Drinks very expensive.
E. B.
The staff were great despite the obvious difficulties caused by the ongoing renovations which meant large parts of the hotel were closed. The choices on the revamped bar food menu are limited and downright disappointing if you are vegetarian.
T. A.
A big thank you to Wendy (Manager) and Nick (Concierge)! Hotel was under refurbishment at the time so facilities were closed, and I wasn’t feeling the first room they gave me, but because of them I was able to be moved to the refurbished side 😊
M. G.
Literally the nicest place I've ever stayed at n I've been to many hotels! 🥰 compliments to all the staff, would have give it more than 5 🌟 😝
L. C.
Is going through a refurbishment, rooms been returned, very comfortable.. temporary breakfast restaurant not so good...hot buffet not so hot, warm..reverted to yoghurt!
B. S.
Extremely comfortable room, very helpful and polite staff and excellent breakfast. Lost one star due the the very high bar prices (£6 a pint!!!)
L.
A great place to stay for the NEC - fantastic rooms and service and a great breakfast. Parking is a little steep though but generally worth it if attending a convention or weekend show.
J. H.
Enjoyed my stay supper breakfast, very clean and safe room refurbished only complaint water not hot
A. S.
We had a few problems when we initially booked, but on arrival Jacob on the front desk really looked after us and went above and beyond really making up for any initial issues and making sure our stay was wonderful!!
J. D. S.
Great hotel, very comfortable rooms, great big conference rooms and very helpful staff. Would definitely use this hotel again
l. M.
6th -10th January room's were freezing no heating working 😫
After lots of people as well as us complaining we got moved but only after seeing the right nice girl after seeing 3 others before ( not so helpful)
Evening food cold
Breakfast food cold
Not that impressed
R. M. B. E.
Very Expensive during Re-furbishment,
Guests should be informed (Pre-Booking) of Non Availability of Executive Lounge, Swimming Pool, etc..
I. A.
I generally liked the room. The hotel was nice and staff were generally friendly/helpful.
R. M.
I went to hilton Birmingham it was a decent hotel the staff were extremely polite the room was nice comfortable and clean the only thing I didn't like was the view from my window was quite disappointing
F. L.
OK hotel. Room was very small with no real wardrobe or drawer space and the shower flooded the bathroom. Wait staff in the hotel were not very friendly and didn't seem to know how to use the till well. The food was tasty, the grounds are nice
S. M.
Very good friendly staff. However a bottle of water un the room. Would of been great
S. M.
great hotel close to nec so i could walk to the show bit of a walk from the airport or train station . great food . great set out .i wood stay again
F. B.
The Hotel is massive and amazing. Lovely staffs and excellent service.
E. H.
Really lovely hotel. Enormous but also friendly and thriving
T. M.
Fantastic staff . Exceptional conference venue. A wonderful team on site highly recommended
s. w.
Food and the staff was wonderful couldn't fault it staff couldn't do enough for you. But what let it down was the fact it was so cold in there.
T. D.
Great location and plenty of parking. Rooms pleasant and pricing good. Currently some areas are being overhauled but overall very good for a business stay.
T. S.
Only attended B&F supply chain event didn't book a room, so can't advise on them.
C. C.
Always a pleasure. The Hilton Metropole is out go to hotel whenever we visit Birmingham.
m. c.
Food cold charged for room when it was pre paid you could do better
C. W.
Visited for "lunch and laughs" was a great venue for this awesome event
Friendly staff and an easy place to navigate
D.
Fair in the circumstances. Staff excellent and did their best, but facilities, even allowing for the pandemic, could have been better, especially as there was no difference to hotel rates reflecting reduced facilities and amenities.
h. g.
Lovely comfy bed and facilities, drinks are pricey but Laura at reception was fantastic in going out of her way to help us. Thanks Laura ❤
G. M.
Went to a charity ball here in aid of BACK UP which is for the spinal injury charity.Room was slightly disappointing as I've been in lower class establishments & found better facilities. The food was superb but the drinks in the bar are really expensive but a fantastic night had by all
A. K.
Have stayed before and no complaints. Currently undergoing a refurb so not all services available. Staff still very professional.
l. b.
Overall I greatly enjoyed my stay and look forward to coming again in the future.
V. M.
Staff friendly and helpful. Good for conference accessibility etc. Pillows not good and food options limited (so bring your own of both)
m. b.
Just be aware this hotel is under referbishment. No room service, no pool. However complimentary parking was good.
P. C.
Great stay, friendly staff and handy location for NEC
J. B.
I'm sure it'll be fine when it's finished. At our event however there were clear indications that they were not truly ready to be open yet.
D. E.
The lounge and bar is nice but the rooms are pretty poor
K. W.
Friendly Staff, bright clean room. Delicious food served in the restaurant.
K. M.
Attended a 2 day conference here, the room was very nice and the food was brilliant.
D. M. G.
Great Hotel & facilities with Super helpful friendly Staff.
l. s.
Great breakfast room could have been better
J.
Large, busy hotel serving the airport and NEC... so you get park-and-fly guests and whatever weird and wonderful characters are attending weird and wonderful events at the NEC as well as corporate events and weddings. They are used to it and while there was a long queue at check in staff cleared it quickly. Bar staff friendly and mostly on the ball (though clearing tables not their forte); a great place for a (over-priced) drink, if nothing else for the people-watching!
Sauna/steam room/pool facilities great (although could be larger due to the invariably heavy footfall).
The hotel itself was a little tired... the lifts need upgrading, as do doors, floors, fixtures and fittings and definitely the plumbing. But mostly clean and functional.
Food in the bar was good and quick (though choice was somewhat limited), breakfast very decent, but the beer-lines could do with a more regular clean.
All in all a good hotel for the location... but a Hilton of old (when Hilton meant the pinnacle of luxury) it isn't.
T. B.
Lovely reception area, very friendly and helpful staff
P. B.
We held a staff conference here. Generally good.
N. K.
Get US customer service in the UK - wonderful experience with friendly, helpful, well trained and very professional staff at every level.
A.
The only things that were disappointing was the price of the drinks, that price varying each time we ordered and that my daughter got sick after having a burger from the food market (a risk you take when in an actual market but not a hotel) 😦
L. L.
Room was spacious clean and well kept. The bed was a little firm but nice. Bathroom was clean and airy. Although a very large hotel rooms were clearly sign posted and easy to find.
The lobby although busy was well manned and check in was quick and painless.
Check out also provides an express box so queuing isn't necessary when in a rush. The food was provided by the staff for the conference I was attending. The staff were friendly helpful and fast paced without feeling like you could get bowled over.
Overall a nice experience
S. J.
Staff absolutely fantastic however building refurbishment meant distinct lack of wider facilities
Z. A.
Stayed for two nights with wife and kids. Had interconnected rooms. Hotel is not very modern but the staff are good. Claire from the concierge is extremely helpful. We wanted to visit resorts world on our first day and it was about to rain, she offered us umbrellas and showed us the route. A short 10 min walk around the lake. Breakfast was very good something for everyone. Pool jacuzzi sauna steam room are also very good. Staff are not too over bearing. They have a 1 adult to 2 children policy in the pool. Pool overlooked a beautiful lake. Overall I had a great stay at the hotel.
O. A.
We recently decided to use this hotel for its location, changing from the Holiday inn. We use many Hilton hotels for meetings and events and our staff stay regularly. I have to mention the stay we had last week, the greeting from reception, the breakfast served by Sarah-Jane. The meeting and events team, everything about our stay was dealt with the best service, I could not have felt more comfortable, or at ease. True professionals.
The staff were faultless. I would go as far as to say the best hotel service in the U.K many Hotels should learn from this.
From a very well travelled team, thank you!!
l. b.
We had the executive upgrade and the room was lovely, the executive lounge was great to have a drink in though the snacks on the Saturday weren't great as there were no samosas left and only spicy chicken wings so nothing worth having if you didn't want spicy food. The staff on the reception and concierge were lovely. Would recommend and will be staying again. It was a very clean room and very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was fantastic downstairs with a huge variety of great tasting food and drink.
M. A.
I am Hilton Honors customer. This is the first time I was disappointed with my room. In general the hotel seems to good. Checking in was quick and efficient. But once I arrived into my room 204, overlooking the car park.
The view was not a problem as I was only there for one night. But the fact that there was no door between the toilet and the bedroom that shocked me. Not to mention that whilst one is on the toilet or brush their teeth you can hear people walking at the corridor. I did mention about my concern to the reception but was told these rooms are newly refurbished and as it is a single room all the toilets don't have doors😯
Having said that the breakfast was good with ample choice. The location is excellent, only 5 minutes to NEC and very close to the train stations.
E. A.
Clean room, good food. Any issues sorted efficiently.
M. G.
The swimming pool is amazing.
Rooms at the hotel are impressive and the areas for sitting in the bar are comfortable and lavished. Rather expensive drinks.
Gym small but ok for average use specially at quiet time. Staff friendly . Pool great for beginners as it's shallow. Parking is expensive unless your a member then it's free.
M. W.
Very clean and smart hotel. Rooms are comfortable and modern. Check-in can get very busy at times if a load of people attending events at the NEC all come out at the same time, but plenty of desk staff seem to sort everyone out very quickly and efficiently. Breakfast offerings were reasonable, although not much vegetarian option readily available unless you ask and wait.
C. L.
Poorly staffed on front desk and room service staff were rushed off their feet when I got stung for ordering room service when I was too unwell to go downstairs to the eat the meal I paid for in my room rate, which included breakfast and evening meal. Front desk didn't want to know. Difficult to get though to reception or room service on the phone. I think the staff were doing the best they could. But the management need to put more staff on. Otherwise the hotel was fine. Clean rooms .excellent concierge service. Excellent free shuttle bus to the train station and airport, with incredibly professional service. That I was blown away by.
M. H.
Good Hotel.
Good position for NEC
M. T.
I have a strange relationship with this place. The rooms are great. Comfortable beds and comfortable temperature. The breakfast is great and the service during breakfast is excellent (and the place is very busy when I'm here).
Of course it has it's downsides, it's expensive and showing its age in comparison to the hotels built recently. However it still has the best event space.
E. S.
Wonderful service and beautiful hotel.
The swimming pool is not overly large however there is a part separated for lane swimming. The sauna and steam room are decent in size and very relaxing.
An evening three course meal was superb and catered for a range of tastes however the drinks were expensive.
Breakfast was buffet style but delicious and was being topped up constantly.
A. C.
The staff and food was great.
However, the structure of the hotel is in need of refurbishment. Leaks from the ceiling in the lobby. While I was waiting to book in, a drip hit my bag and made me look up.
The "Queen" suite I stopped in, It was clean and the bed was comfy, again however, the wall paper was being held up by silicone around the top, marks on the wall. The ceiling looked grey as if it hadn't been painted in over a decade. I was also surprised that no bottled water was supplied.
The hallways are pitted with water stains on the ceilings.
2 out of the three lifts were broken. The one remaining lift had "issues"
Car parking machines - only one working so we had to queue to pay.
The staff, from the cleaners to the management were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was good, and table service team was very slick.
K. J.
I like the location of this hotel, lovely walks by the lake, with Resorts World shops and restaurants nearby. The food in the hotel is fantastic and the swimming pool is great. The only downside was the loud noise of the air conditioning units outside my room on the second floor, which kept me awake. The room itself was clean, with everything you need and the bed was really comfy.
C. M.
The hotel was was beautiful with a great pool, hot tub, and gym. There were also multiple restaurants and an easy walk to the NEC. The staff was very kind and accommodating. I left my bag in one of the rooms on departure and they kindly mailed it back to me without problems. I stayed in the executive rooms which included breakfast and a happy hour from 6 to 8 pm as well as access to the lounge area which was great for work. The happy hour had delicious wine and a variety of snacks - so much so that it was my dinner a few nights. The only reason for 4 stars was the price - however the service, quality, and amenities were top quality.

Check in was a mere moment which was appreciated. Staff were a delight to deal with. Room although a little small was lovely, well kept with a modern theme. Shower was nice and roomy, bed was amazingly comfy and the small balcony allowed for some nice fresh morning air. Breakfast is a buffet style and the food was good. I had no less than 7 good mornings when I walked from my room to breakfast, proof the staff are friendly! I'd recommend a stay if the price is right for you.
M. K.
Stayed here three times for my annual conference at work.
Nice stay, comfortable rooms, single beds was the only downside but lots of bookings, food was amazing completely perfect.
Service was good, great amenities, gym and swimming pool, parking was also vast.
O. O.
This hotel is massive!!! Nice and helpful staff. The rooms are alright, but good enough to just sleep in. However, the activities outside is what make this place a prime location with the Resort centre just behind the building. There's a path between the hotel and the resort for quicker access. Walking to and fro this hotel will give you your 10,000 steps for the day. The swimming pool is kept clean too. Access to the gym facilities is 24 hours. My only gripe was the not so great wifi.
R. C.
Well maintained. Big property
T. P.
Great! The staff were so kind to me, they took my bags and let me check in 5.5 hours early. They let me have a breakfast too! The room was clean, warm, exactly what I needed (after leaving my previous hotel early I needed somewhere decent to stay!) And this is what I got. My only fault is that the bed was so high! I'm 5ft2 and had to jump up. The pillows were a bit soft for me but the rest of the room and hotel was amazing. My previous hotel didn't have an iron, but the Hilton did.... and an ironing board! What more does a girl need!
E. M.
Stayed here for a business trip and couldn't fault it. Use of the pool and gym, plus sauna and steam room was included and all were well maintained. I ordered steak via room service for dinner and it was great (although the peppercorn sauce wasn't the best). The room was clean, fresh and a good size. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with a really wide selection. Would definitely return and recommend.
B. M.
Despite being a massive hotel, which caters for a large number of guests, the check-in was smooth and the allocated room clean and comfortable. However, unable to adjust the room temperature above 15 degrees centigrade, so it did feel a bit chilly. Also, it would have been a good idea to allocate additional bar staff to cope with the large numbers.
R. T.
Room was functional but very small and right next to lift Room 343
V. C.
The people serving in the bar were lovely (mostly), and ensured you had everything you needed with a smile.
Not so happy with the fact that breakfast on Monday finished an hour early, and, as we hadn't been informed of that, I missed breakfast!
Rooms were good, clean, and the housekeepers did a grand job.
Now Hilton, all you need to do is ensure your guests are apprised of the closing times of breakfast on a weekday!
Z. B.
Amazingly well managed for such a huge hotel with 1000s of rooms. I was lucky to experience a members evening which was fantastic! The breakfast is very good, the staff work so hard and the toiletries are top notch. For 5 stars however, the beds would have to have been a lot comfier, the bottled water a little more reasonably priced and better temperature control all over the hotel.
M. W. B.
I have stayed here 5 times with my place of work. Its a large hotel close to the Train Station & Airport. Its mainly used as a conference hotel with lots of large rooms you can book. Like most Hilton hotels it's expensive and I have to say the rooms are okay large Bathrooms comfortable beds and you can get a smoking room. There is pool that can be used which is nice.
J. F.
The conference facilities were excellent and service was good at all times. The bedrooms were very clean and tidy and breakfast was also very good with a wide choice. There was a constant noise outside my room (probably an air conditioning unit) which didn't help with sleeping and may bother some people more. Other than that it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.
L. K.
we ate in the restaurant nd we was served and waited on by Aarty and she was absolutely amazing and the service was incredible and she was constantly checking up on us and was extremely kind
D. G.
Great bar, lovely meal, great staff.hotel room not so good. Uncomfortable bed, our booking wasn't done properly. Reception couldn't find it despite having ref number. Airport transfer not as promised. Hotel concierge said we could only be taken to the train station and then make our own way on the maglev or walk over half a mile from free car park. Driver said it was nonsense and took us to departure door, though we had to give him £5 to cover parking and his time. Supposed to have been complimentary. Not good as both of us disabled.
L. J.
Only went for the day to a convention. Enjoyed the day. Not keen on the standing up to eat tables but managed OK. Lovely coffee. Clean toilets although only very posh taps didn't all work....
Decor nice. Lighting very grand. Staff excellent... Helpful and friendly.
An altogether lovely experience.
Although £5.00 for a decaff latte is, in my opinion, a bit pricey...

Upon entering the hotel it is immediately apparent you have entered a very high class hotel. The lobby and downstairs bar areas are sublime. The spa, leisure and health facilities also deliver. However, the deluxe room was very underwhelming considering cost. It was bland, noisy and the bathroom was very smelly with dated furnishings. The parking fees are also extortionate which I believe should be included in the price of the room. Can't complain about the location.
O. S.
This place is beautiful from the outside and the bar and reception look amazing too. However, some of the lifts were off and the rooms decor was really dated. They could do with modernising the rooms and sorting out the lifts. The food was lovely and the staff were nice enough.

Genuinely great hotel, Gym was small but pretty well equipped. Pool etc. was great. All staff friendly and knowledgeable. Food served was lovely, Emily at the bar was a great convo. Bed comfy, shower hot! Crazy close to the NEC too, like a 3 minute walk. Will stay here again after the next gig

Accommodation and event suites were brilliant, just VERY poor service at the bar in the evening. The staff worked very hard, all 2 or 3 of them, but should have more staff on when it's busy. Otherwise, fantastic hotel if you're just getting your head down or at a company event.
J. L.
The rooms are dated. The WiFi is massively over priced and the parking is over priced, not free as in their description. The TV was outdated and knackered. Not great when you haven’t got wifi because of the ridiculous charge.
On the good side the bar had a good atmosphere and the food was alright. The room was clean and the bathroom was fine, fairly up to date.

Amazing. Thank you. I really enjoy dancing there.😀

A very large and busy hotel. They are very used to getting large numbers of people moved around this hotel efficiently. As such it left me a bit of an empty feeling. The staff were pleasant with being friendly. My room was a quarter of a mile away from the reception desk and was the smallest room I have ever stayed in at any hotel. It was modern, clean and tidy and as you would expect. The bed, mattress and pillows were plump and comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. Watch yourself on the shower doors though, I got my fingers caught between the handle and the side of the shower cubicle. I wouldn't choose to stay at this hotel in the deluxe rooms or recommend it because of the open bathroom /toilet and problem shower cubicle. Unfortunately because I was running late I used the excess checkout and forgot to tell them about the shower cubicle.
J. L.
The hotel is somehow aged. The public areas like lobby B and the connections between blocks are long and look like early 1980s. Not something I would expect from this group in the 2019... The room itself was quite ok: clean, good lighting, many power outlets and comfy bed.

Nice large hotel with a great location to the NEC. Stayed here for Crufts and was very pleased with my stay. Dog friendly (at least for Crufts weekend - unsure if this applies all year round)
The rooms weren’t dated as such but weren’t extremely modern. The facilities were perfect, especially the bathroom which offered a nice large bath and a powerful shower.
I paid extra for a junior suite, I believe it was. The room was larger and contained a bath, plus access to the ‘executive lounge’ which I only used in the morning. I didn’t pay extra for breakfast downstairs but was included in the lounge. I was a little disappointed by the view as it overlooked the roof of the conference rooms and didn’t leave much to take in.
Beds were very comfortable although were on wheels so moved a little.

The hotel have hosted a convention I used to attend yearly. Every year the staff have been amazing, putting up with all us fuzzy freaks and geeks!
Some even love to participate themselves, and it is great to see the hotel encourage their staff to also have a good time along with us. Party on! 🍾

Place located near NEC. Nearby shops and eateries located in one building. Rooms clean and cleaned daily if you want this. Equipped with a cordless kettle, tea, coffee and sugar. Good contact with the service. The reception can help. The hotel is the venue for many occasional events. Prices above the average pocket. Sometimes it is worth paying for convenience and local amenities. I would recommend.

Stayed overnight at the Hilton as we were flying from Birmingham airport on an early flight. We didn't arrive until 8pm so didn't spend much time in the hotel however the check in staff were polite, friendly and very efficient ensuring we had all the information to get to the airport in good time for our flight. They recommended the shuttle bus which runs every 20 minutes from the hotel. The bus arrived on time, was driven by a very friendly and helpful gentleman who picked us up right outside the front door and dropped us off outside departures. The hotel room was modern and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities and our stay was pleasant and comfortable. Would definitely use the Hilton Birmingham Metropole again.

Well what can I say :-) The hotel is lovely, staff where friendly and attentive when required. Rooms are a little dated but comfortable with everything you require. There are a few options of where to eat and food is really good ........ But prepare for the bill! £17.50 for fish n chips ? £8.90 for a glass of house red ? Sandwich like £9 ....... This hotel is mega busy like an airport and they service your needs well. Suggest modernization of the rooms at a good and drinks price review ..... It's not like you don't get the customers
J. W.
Very large hotel and does get very busy. It was full when we stayed due to concert nearby and a number of functions. Restaurant was fully booked and executive lounge was full so ended up having the buffet which at £29 is expensive and £11 for a 250ml glass of shiraz. The food was ok but service is stretched when full. Breakfast again due to being full ended up being in an over spill area as restaurant was full, nothing wrong with it and the food was good and catered for all including g an omelette station. Reception staff were polite. Room was ok and clean but bed was not comfy and springs noisy. It does have a car park which costs £12 for hotel residents but the spaces are ridiculously small, you can get your car in but opening your door and getting out is a challenge. If you had a large off road type vehicle, I doubt it would fit. Overall it was ok but unless I needed to be close to the hotel I will look elsewhere nearby next time.

Nice hotel. Feels a bit old now but the rooms are comfortable and the housekeeping are lovely, even if they do slam doors all morning cleaning rooms. The bar prices are pretty steep as is food. But when it comes to function space it's ample for pretty much anyone. Some of the bar stuff really put their back out to help.

It’s about a ten minute walk from one of the main NEC halls to this hotel, part of which is though a fairly nice woodland walkway to give some respite from the bustle of a conference. So there are closer options but my single night’s stay wasn’t too bad and was worth the walk. From the outside it looks a little shabby but internally it’s more reassuring, although still not overly modern. Reception staff were really helpful although the main lobby area is a long walk from where I entered, only to be told to return all the way back for access to my floor - it really is a deceptively large building!
My room was on the second floor with a minimal view but was surprisingly comfortable, however clearly designed for a single guest. The bed was in the corner of the room, surrounded by wooden walls, feeling more like a caravan than a hotel. There were electric plugs on the walls, which was handy, although ended up with the devices being in the bed with you rather than on any form of bedside table. There was a desk area which was an adequate size and a wardrobe which had a fair amount of storage space. What was disappointing was the TV, which had terrible picture quality. The mini bar remained empty but there was some nice reading material about Birmingham and the local area.
The bathroom didn’t have a door, again suggesting I had a single person’s room, but was actually decent. The shower area was large, clean and had decent power with nice toiletries and there was enough space around the sink area along with lots of towels. This was in fact the most modern aspect of the room and was a pleasant space.
The bed gave a decent night’s sleep and there was minimal noise from outside until the morning housekeeping service began, at which point banging of doors in the corridor commenced, along with my room being entered despite the do not disturb sign being displayed. Given that the bathroom has no door this could have been more embarrassing! However they clearly do a good job, since the room seemed spotlessly clean, especially the bathroom.
Check out was a breeze, once you’d made the long walk back to the reception desk! Overall a comfortable stay and the room itself was adequate for a business style stop over. If you’re loyal to the brand it’d do fine and the location will get it on my shortlist again, although I’m not sure the price premium offers much more than the alternatives for a single work related stay.

This hotel is older but in really good shape. The carpet was a little threadbare. But still really nice spacious rooms. The staff where really nice and helpful. It is expensive and there are probably nicer hotels. But the location is excellent for the NEC.
G. B.
Attended my company Christmas party including an overnight stay. Nice hotel and, although compact, room was spacious and comfortable enough for my needs. Heard that it's not the easiest too get to via the train but, as l drove, I can't say from personal experience if true. Had a very nice buffet breakfast with a good variety as you would expect and overall a good stay.
S.
Stayed here for an overnight stop before flying out on holiday.....that it serves its purpose well.
We had drinks at the bar and my first pint was glorious and full of life, looked amazing, my second however was limp and flat and had a odd perfume like taste....this led to a sore head and dippy tummy the following morning. Oh it's £5+ for a pint. Two pints and two cokes came to £15 something.
Also there's no honour at the bar with several folks jumping in before me when I patiently waited with my 20 month old daughter, shame on you.
The room was clean and functional however the bed was perhaps too hard for my liking but that is a personal preference.
There was a lot of ambient noise in the room this made relaxing a wee bit tougher.
There is of course your tea and coffee station and its rare that caffeine free coffee is provided these days.
It would have been good if breakfast was included in my price but at £20 I thought it'll be better to get breakfast at the airport.
Shuttle transfer was on time and friendly.

Good two night stay for the show at NEC. Stayed in executive twin including breakfast. Lovely room with lake view. By being a Honors member checked in online. Staff very friendly and helpful
Down side. Had to get keys re-coded 3 times. And breakfast in executive lounge wasnt very hot.
Will return again next year

Was here for a corporate event...mixed experience. The catering was good, the event went brilliantly and the gym is better than most hotel gyms. Nice breakfast. Rooms were the weak point...initially in a twin room which had the tiniest, most rickety single beds you've ever seen...I've slept on better canvas fold up camp beds. Asked to swap and it was a hassle...staff just not really interested in helping, although eventually got switched to a double room. The heating didn't work so it was chilly but was otherwise comfortable enough. Big hotel so good for an event, they could just do with a bit more staff training.
J. R.
Easy to get to, however there may be heavy traffic if the NEC is holding a major event. During my stay I paid £5 extra to park in the VIP area right opposite the main entrance. My car could be seen from my hotel window for that extra piece of mind. Arrived at 11am but they managed to check me in to my room despite check in being 3pm. Staff where very pleasant to speak with and very accommodating. Lobby area is large and clean but my room (even though very clean) and overall appearance of the hotel shows it is due a refurbishment. Slightly over aged decor and even the TV in my room was showing hazy standard definition programs. The walls are also thin so I could hear the occupants next to me converse and hear them play music from their phone. Resorts world is walking distance around the lake for restaurant's, bars, shopping and casino.
L. L.
Nice hotel, lots of facilities including pool spa with sauna and she room. Most of the bedrooms are up to date and in good condition. Lovely lounge and bar area with a great selection. Plenty of good food available in the bar or as room service. Fees apply to room service unfortunately.
J. T.
Attentended a conference here in November 2018 and I was very impressed with the quality of the venue for the conference as well as the professionalism of the staff. The only negative I can think of is the steep price of the bar, however I assume it is competitively priced with hotels of a similar ilk.
The rooms were spacious and clean and access to the on-site fitness facilities was also a wonderful bonus, especially after 2 days of conference lectures.
O. A.
Generally clean and tidy, as expected from Hilton. Close to relevant links and good accessibility. Friendly staff, room service was very good.
Bed was ok, as were the washroom facilities. Nice cosy rooms as you'd expect.
Externally hotel is not much to look at but it was a business trip and did the trick!!
A. A.
The guest rooms (cheaper option) were as expected smaller and less fancy, but what I didn't expect was to have a broker pice of headboard by my bed and a towel ring loosely hanging from a single pin ready to fall of. Other than these issues the staff were all welcoming and friendly. The conference was run smoothly and the catering, especially lunch, was great.

Stayed here once and it’s left me with mixed emotions. I’ll mention the poor first. The single room was ok but small with bits of damage to the wall and the shower temperature regulator did not work, I could not close the toilet door as bathroom was so small. There’s a massive lack of TLC for stair cases as The chaos of the lifts are far to small and slow to manage a large crowds and busy periods. So I asked where’s the stairs and they were hidden as they looked like a fire escape rather than alternative access to rooms. The service I think was ok, found most staff ok the odd exception with great service.
The noise from the function that went on until 2 in the morning with banging white noise was unbearable. Couldn’t sleep and I was on the second floor so glad I wasn’t lower.
The tv channels where very limited and the WiFi very slow.
The overall exterior was ok, not much to be impressed about the interior decor was very good, well maintained and looked after.
The view out of the rooms was again poor most roof from the ground floor areas.
Car parking was good and easy accessible.
Overall food quality was good, but not great.
N. B.
Stayed here for the Cfz 2016 event. For the type of event I was impressed at the professionalism and genuine good nature of the staff.
The buffet breakfast was super, as was the bar food/drinks, although these were definitely rather pricey. I'd recommend going to the Costa, as it is more competitively priced.
Our room was incredibly comfortable and felt homely, but some of the furniture was a little tired (hairdryer/chair).
Overall great Hotel in a good location, would gladly recommend it.

Large airport hotel used for conferences etc.
Negatives - bland. A long walk to anywhere (bed room to reception / conference room to toilets) - only really a problem if you're in a rush I suppose!
And the unforgivable - they didn't bring my breakfast to my room as ordered - apparently "a new girl" forgot to collect the cards off the doors in the wing where I was staying. Got breakfast eventually but then had to rush it and didn't enjoy it, plus there was no butter for the toast but I couldn't stand to go through the palaver of calling room service again etc
Positives - bedroom (superior queen, single occupancy) was tiny but perfect for a single traveller. Useful design features such as socket for phone charger & shelf for phone in headboard. Very comfortable bed.
Meeting room was good, plenty of varied refreshments served throughout the day.

Reading some of the negative reviews I was apprehensive of staying in this Hotel, how wrong was I !
On arrival car parking was easy as it`s situated right at the front of the hotel and £12 for 24hrs as a guest was a bargain seeing how close you are to the Airport and the NEC.
All the staff were really friendly and helpful and made you feel very welcome, the Twin room I was staying in was of a good size and nicely decorated. The single beds were comfortable (if a bit small) and the linen was clean and fresh. Bathroom was spotless with fresh towels etc.
As for the food no complaints here either, I ordered room service as I arrived at the Hotel late, the lady taking the order on the phone was very polite and had the food delivered very quickly to my room. Food and drink are available 24hrs a day ! If you do order room service there is a £5 "Tray Charge" for having it delivered to your room, this is explained on the Menu and mentioned whilst you are placing your order so there are no surprises !
Breakfast time and again all the staff very helpful and polite, amazing selection of tasty food hot and cold.
Check out was swift and easy, Hotel invoice was e-mailed to me and was all correct. Again staff very helpful and pleasant.
I`m not sure if any of the staff read the reviews that are left on here but I would like to thank them all for making my stay very pleasant, I for one would definitely return to stay again !

Stayed overnight. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Was given a twin room and the bed was as wide as me. Not very comfy. The room was generally clean but the toilet was not flushing properly as a previous customers deposit was visible at the bottom. Room was nice and warm especially as it was 0 degrees outside. Low score is for the inconsiderate customers who decided to shout and scream in the hallway at 2am and also bang all the doors. Then decided they would watch tv very loud. Did not get much sleep. Got woken up again at 4.30am by more banging. Walls are super thin so you can also hear the room next door flushing and making various sounds whilst on the toilet.

Lovely environment to exercise in. Fabulous facilities and luxurious pool. However you prefer to exercise you will find it all here.
The freedom to join for a short period or a longer time is very appealing and if you have a busy lifestyle the day pass is fantastic.
The staff in Living Well is so nice and kind very helpful without asking they know what you need , thanks a lot
Would definitely recommend it.

We had a lovely stay here. Because I'd paid extra when booking for a standby upgrade we got a huge suite for the three of us. Ok so the decor and furniture is in need of a refurb but this was overlooked by the 2 separate rooms, 2 bathrooms, balcony, huge bath and coffee machine. We also had access to the executive lounge for a free breakfast the next morning. We used the swimming pool which was great and brilliant that they cordoned off a section for lane swimming.
I'm not sure whether it comes with the package of having the suite but we got complimentary drinks and snacks between 6-8. Unfortunately we had to eat them in one of the dingy, windowless conference rooms as children are not allowed on the bar...but really this was not a massive issue.
I'd definitely stay here again. It was so convenient for the Bear Grylls adventure at the NEC.
Staff were all really pleasant too.
R. R.
I stayed here for a work training course. The room was clean, the bed comfy. The staff were really friendly and helpful with good local knowledge. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in a hotel, with a beautiful selection of fresh fruits, cooked to order in from of you omelets and waffles. Fresh pastries, and the usual bacon, eggs, sausage beans, etc along side more continental options. I would definitly go back and recommend it. (the bar staff were helpful and had a good knowledge of their whiskeys)
J.
I stayed here for a month with work (going home at weekends). I absolutely loved it! Lovely comfortable rooms, not the most modern I must say but clean and comfortable. The staff were great and would do anything to help. Sarah Jane at breakfast is just what you need to get your day off to a great start. Bright, bubbly and chatty...such a lovely lady! When work sends me to Birmingham again I hope its here. Home form home!
D. B.
The hotel was lovely (company Christmas party) . very clean and I found all the staff very friendly and helpful. My room key didn't work and that got sorted quickly .. then the sink in my room blocked so I called to get fixed . The sink blocked again in the morning but didnt report it. the food was excellent . And would recommend this hotel .
A. S.
A good hotel, but not as good as implied by the standard price. I was here for a conference and the facilities for meetings and food were excellent, with very friendly and helpful staff throughout. The room I was first given had a broken window catch which meant a draft and noise was getting in (fairly problematic for somewhere so near an airport). They were very nice about moving me to another room, but this had exactly the same problem! The third room was pretty good, but I was still woken up by planes at 5am. The only thing you absolutely need in a hotel near an airport is good soundproofing, so I'm disappointed that the Hilton falls down on this. The TV wasn't very good - the remote control didn't have an info button or a button for the programme guide, and there was only Freeview not any additional channels. There was no power socket next to the bed. But the bed was very comfortable and the room was perfect apart from these things.
S. S.
Good Hotel - Was lucky to be upgrade to a suite which was nice. Some rooms look tired and need updating. Executive Club room nice and good food and drink options. Car Parking can be an issue with large events at the hotel or NEC
I. C.
Nice place to stay if you’re on business or attending an event at the NEC. The rooms are smart and clean, the bar is excellent, although quite expensive, and the food is good. Check in often takes far longer than it needs to for reasons I have yet to understand. But generally the staff at every level are very friendly and helpful. Parking can get pretty damn expensive if you are staying more than a day or two.
D. R.
Lovely hotel but very much on the warm side. Not the best sleep in my "pod" room.
Was attending a conference for which the staff were great, coffee and plates etc cleared. All very much in the background letting me talk with other delegates.
H. S.
Stayed here last night and I was on the 5th floor, the rooms are VERY small to say the least on this floor so for the price that was paid I felt it was very expensive.
My room was very outdated and had quite a few holes and random 'nicks in the walls' so needed updating.
There's so many other good hotels in the area that are not as expensive so possibly wouldn't use this one again for the reasons above.
L. F.
The location is fantastic for events at the NEC it's about a 5 minute walk to the venue and near enough the same to Resorts world. Easy to get to if you haven't been before either it's signposted from the NEC. The room was great nice comfortable bed, shower was great nice and clean. The staff were helpful and got me checked in and out quicky, other then the strange clicking noise I had in my room the stay was great.
F. F.
The hotel is above average- the room I had was small but comfortable. Staff were friendly and the pool, whilst slightly crowded due to the children's swimming classes that were going on a while I was there, was still nice.
K. R.
Some lovely staff, but a few things were not right.
My Aircon wouldn't turn off and although I adjusted the heat to 15° it stayed hot
A food was labelled as vegan and after eating it I was told it was not.
The shuttle bus does not go every 10 minutes like I was told, not even after events
The shower was very hot and after adjusting the temperature it stayed at the same heat the whole time.
J. S.
Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Lots of parking available, comfy beds and clean! Enjoyed going for a swim in the pool and using the pool facilities. Lots of options at breakfast. Would definitely return
C. P.
Rooms are of a decent size, but is showing their age with wear on quite a few places. The rooms are however clean and the housekeeping did a good job each day of my stay here.
The TV was of an OK size and quality, but the input was still analogue and with no option to make use of the HDMI port in the rear of the TV. Front desk staff had no idea how to use it either.
Breakfast is very good with a good selection of warm food, cold cuts and a large selection of fruits as well as options for fresh waffles and pancakes.
Food in the bar is pricey for what you get compared to what is available for a short walk to the Resorts World, but is of an OK quality when you've arrived from travels.
Location is within a short walking distance of both the NEC and the Resorts World shopping/dining area.
The airport is located just a walk and a shuttleride away through the NEC and the train station. People at my event had seen travellers be bag checked at the NEC so if you are planning to take the walk to the airport either make allowance for that, or book the free shuttle from the hotel.
I attended an event at the hotel and the hotel staff were always nice and friendly to all the attendees I saw, and the way the hotel not only hosts but supports the hotel seems very good.
H. H.
Had very comfortable and calm stay in a family room whilst attending an event at the NEC over Easter. Room was spacious, clean and well maintained.
Couple of annoying things happened during the stay, hence why only 4 stars. The hotel back door was locked after midnight meaning a long walk around to the front was required late at night. My rooms sofa was inexplicably turned into a sofa bed on the third night taking up most of the room space (was put back to normal on the 4th night) -housekeeping clearly bored and making work for themselves!
G. W.
Third time here for company conferences. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff are helpful, and every meal we have had has been excellent which is not easy when you are feeding over 400 people at once.
G. R.
Was here for a business event so didn’t stay. I haven’t been here for years. Everything was very good. The room the event was held in was very well laid out. The drinks and food served at the event for lunch, including vegetarian choices and puddings were all very good. A lovely upmarket hotel. Easy parking and exit.
R. D.
Friendly staff and good facilities. Gym was great. Executive lounge was useful with complimentary food and drink - saved some money there! Room decor was a bit tired but nothing too major. One of the better hotels I've stayed at.
H. O.
Lovely place, very helpful staff and fantastic food.
T. H.
Great staff clean hotel expensive room price for the type of room we had, as we booked for a charity ball and told no special offer rooms left!
Good facilities fab breakfast could not fault the choice and anything you coulnt see was bought to your table staff very attentive.
The hotel is let down by its choices of drink especially beers. These were often bottled and the main bar had flat Guinness no bitter and at 4pm the 1st drink we had at the main bar tasted disappointingly awful!!! Later on the evening only 1 person serving a busy bar!
We have stayed many times over the last 20 years and will undoubtably stay again.
E. _.
I stay here for a week once a year. And my god is it the nicest place to be. Comfy beds, good environment and kind staff. Housekeeping people do try and invade privacy and food can be a bit plain but aside from that there's no place id rather be for a week.
B. M.
It's massive and could lose your way but it was great for us. It's a very busy hotel but we had lunch before going out but prices were exhorbitant. However the hotel has everything you could wish for, clean, friendly and good food.
J. S.
Good friendly staff, well prepared and presented food.
J. H.
It was a mixed bag. Not the best Hilton we've been to wall paper torn on second floor, three water leaks in lobby that never went away. But they offered us entry into their Executive Lounge which had free food and free alcohol which was very nic, but it wasn't air conditioned so it was muggy and hot. Our room was a little too small to walk around the pullout couch, but otherwise nice. The fitness front desk staff were very rude and sarcastic, not appreciated when we were on vacation and just trying to relax. But all the other staff were great.
E. L.
Absolutely gushing with praise for the staff at the Hilton. Just been on a business conference, rang ahead as I have life threatening allergies and honestly I've never experienced care and compassion quite like it. Hats off the Nada the catering manager, the chef's and so to the catering staff, they did an amazing job. All snacks, meals and drinks were carefully planned and catered not just for me but for all attendees as Im triggered by airborne particles too. So a huge heart felt thank you from me . Well done Hilton Metropole
T. G.
Friendly staff & breakfast has improved dramatically since our previous visits. Rooms can be a bit echoy and check out can take ages. Overall a good experience & always go back due to convenient location & great bar but not sure you're really getting the luxury experience you'd expect from the brand name & premium price that you're paying.
S. P.
The room was nice staff were friendly. I found the price of some of the food ightly expensive, a sandwich for £7!! One thing that did shock me was she quality of TV. You didn't receive all the free view channels and the signal was pretty poor also. I have been in budget hotels that were able to offer better quality TV provision for free.
J. W.
I’ve stayed here twice recently. It‘s a decent hotel, close to the NEC with a free shuttle to Birmingham Airport. The rooms are quite tired and desperately need renovation. Cleaning could be better. On one visit, there was a washed out blood stain on my sheets and several moths in my room. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. The gym is good but could also do with a refresh. Breakfast has a wide selection but the quality of some items could be better.
A. M.
At least some of the rooms have been modernised recently, even the older rooms are fine if a little dated.
Room service and general hotel services are perfectly acceptable, so there's nothing wrong there.
Food is varied in both cost and quality with plenty of places to eat. Drinks are a tad expensive and there a little less selection than I'd have liked.
All in all, a consistantly great stay year on year.
N. H.
I come here every year for conferences and events. The service is always great, the staff are very helpful and the place is well run. Conference rooms are very spacious and the AV set up good. Food is always tasty at the hilton, never had a bad experience anywhere. You have peace of mind when using the Hilton brand. Thank you.

Stayed for a convention. Booked for 3 nights but only stayed for 2 as had to get home.
Good bits: Hotel looks nice and spacious inside. Clean. Room clean and comfortable. Bed comfortable and extra duck down pillow was nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Number plate recognition for car park. £32 For 3 days.
Bad bits: Very expensive. Over charged on arrival (18/5/18) and unable to release funds back to my bank straight away. Still not released (21/5/18) Room comfortable and clean but had an issue on arrival with the toilet..... compensated with discount. However not used much due to prices. Breakfast was pretty cold the 1st day but nice and hot the second. Wi-Fi only worked for a day. Finding a car park space if you've nipped out can be tricky.
Didn't get to use the spa/pool but will try on the next convention.
J. W.
Well furnished and clean rooms, comfortable bed and adjustable temperature control which was very welcome. Good value breakfast with a wide range of items and options for special diets.
P. C.
I stay here annually for an event at the NEC. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff usually happy to help.
Having spent some time booking rooms for our crew I can say that their mass booking system needs some work, but that won't affect most people!
The breakfast buffet is good and the hotel is close to transport links, including the airport, and to the NEC.
T. A. C.
Had an amazing stay. Minutes walk from NEC I stayed to go to cake international. I had a twin room it was spotlessly clean the breakfast was amazing. The staff were very professional and e freely helpful. The concierge watched our bags on last day so we could go to NEC all day and pick them up before we left. I will stay there every time from now.photo is of amazing work by Emma Jayne from Aberdare

I stayed for four nights. My room was very comfortable and always clean and tidy. The housekeeping staff always did a great job in my room.
The staff in all eating areas of the hotel were professional and friendly.
Highly recommended.

I was here along with 1907 others for ConFuzzled 2018, and I'll have to say the hotel made us all feel amazingly welcome. Service has improved over the years since the convention moved here, and staff genuinely do go out of their way to make sure you feel wanted.
Some of the facilities, particularly in the rooms are showing their age a little, and the fact that this used to be two hotels is pretty evident with a disconnect between the two halves, though it doesn't take too long to get used to the layout of things. Upgrades are going on somewhat incrementally; it's pretty odd to have very modern TVs but with an analogue feed that appears to suffer from reflections, for example (but that's probably my electronics background and sensitivity to visual oddities highlighting that).
The downsides are pretty minor, though. Everything does work, and the staff are excellent, as is the great breakfast here. An excellent place to host a convention of this size, and very convenient for the NEC, Birmingham airport, Birmingham International Station and Resorts World.

Top notch service throughout and even after my stay. I left a toiletries bag in my room during my visit and the hotel's lost and found immediately got it sent to me on first class mail. Unfortunately there was an error in the address but nevertheless they redelivered it when it was sent back to them. I am very grateful for their fantastic and kind service!

Great for confuzzled and other conventions, double rooms feel dated, single rooms nice and fresh, food ok but slightly pricey, overall a fun place but unlikely to excite outside of conventions. On a side note, car theft seems to be an issue, not the hotels fault really but I'm sure they could do more to make the carpark more secure (remove plastic barriers and replace for lifting heavy duty bollards). Overall not bad for an oldish hotel, nice surroundings and a close walk to leisureworld. Can't get a nice view every time I guess lol. (See pic)

Good check in. First room we were given was very cold but we were moved to another straight away. Good comfortable bed.
Really can't believe that we had housekeeping knocking on our door at 9.15am!! Check out is midday. Check the computer system to see who has checked out if you want to start cleaning the rooms!! Very annoyed!! They did the same with all our party.
Breakfast was an additional £15 per person. When first went in everything was cold!! Complained and waitress went to speak to Manager. Ten minutes later and all replenished with hot food. No glasses available for juices so had to use mug. And only Flora margarine and no butter!
One of our group was charged £12.99 for just logging on to internet despite then telling is internet was free. It was eventually refunded but should never have been charged in the first place. Don't know of any hotels that charge you for internet nowadays.
W. W.
We've been here for 5 days.
The housekeeping is really nice and try their best to make everyone happy.
The breakfast is also really good and theres enough of it. I liked that they provide the breakfast for a quite long time.
What I didn't like was that they had no toilet brush and that you have to call housekeeping for cleaning your toilet for that. As you can see on the images our window was slightly damaged and the mirror holder was a bit worn out^^ But that wasn't so bad. (You could still use them)
I also got different informations on check- out times by different people at the reception. They were a bit confused.

Stay was amazing. Staffs are really great .Easy check in , great food and amazing service. Specially I have to say when we had our dinner at the Restaurant Emily and her team look after us very well.Great service and they even spend a great time for my kids.will be staying again with no hesitation. Even though it was a busy place staffs ate great and looked after professionally from the check in until check out.super excited to visit again.

The hotel was very nice. I did like the pool and sauna; but I did find the steam room to be rather on the warmer side, compared to other steam rooms that I have used. The bed was a little hard; but I did feel the mattress topper included made the difference.

Lovely hotel, nice staff very easy

Pleasant upmarket hotel. Easy walk to the NEC, Genting Arena or Resort World. Rooms are pretty good, but don't have electric sockets near the beds as most recently updated hotels do. Bathroom is slightly cramped, but has a bath with shower built in. All rooms I've been in have had an iron and ironing board. Breakfast is very good. Excellent hot and cold selection with omelette chef and a pancake chef as well. The bar serves good lager and bitters at the usual over-inflated prices, and is a comfortable place to chill out.
D. P.
I've stayed here a couple of times now for conventions. I always find the staff are very polite, the rooms are all up to a good standard and clean. I spent most of the time there either in one of the massive function rooms, or in the bar/lounge area, both of which were well laid out and comfortable.
The only slight downside was the bar and lounge service. They were very busy, but didn't seem to have enough staff on to cope with the amount of customers.
I did experience a fire alarm and evacuation whilst I was there, but it was all handled very well by the staff, and can't be helped.
All in all, I've had some pleasant stays there and can thoroughly recommend it if you are needing somewhere to stay over to visit the MEN or such like.

Decent hotel with comfy beds and an excellent breakfast. The room I had was very small, so constantly hitting against things. Bathroom was clean with a good pressured shower and wifi seems somehow not to work with signing in to my room number and surname.
C. J. R.
I have mixed feelings about the hotel: it is very modern and attractive, and the staff are excellent. However my visit coincided with one set of the lifts breaking down, which was a nuisance though the stairs were perfectly good once you found them. Besides, that could happy in any hotel.
No my issue was that the room was extremely warm, because the weather was. Unfortunately the aircon was noisy so we opened the window - and then realised we were very convenient for the airport. ;) Also there was some ornamental fountain that makes quite a noise out the back. Neither are the hotels fault.
The hotel is large, modern, sterile and perfect for the NEC. So large it is easy to get lost, but once you find breakfast it was worth the journey.
If you need a hotel near the NEC o would definitely recommend the Airport Hilton; first rate for conventions, absolutely perfect. If you are looking for cosy comfort, a romantic break or cheap look elsewhere. Still very good at what it does.
T. M.
Did not stay and they kindley allowed us to leave without charge. The executive room I had was perfect, just the right size and had a generous amount of space and a balcony. Staff were all very helpful. I love this property and look forward to my next stay.
Y. P.
I've stayed here a few times. The main purpose of this place has been convenience to the NEC and it gets 5 stars for that. If you love 1980's decor, you'd give it 5 stars for that as well :) This hotel is a bit dated although it's in the process of having rooms updated. It's potluck what type of room you get - but at the moment, avoid the suites, they are very outdated. Other negative points include the dining. We managed to dine once at Millers and it was quite good. All other times it has been closed and the dining was poor. Also, check if functions are on and what floor you are on. Otherwise you might be included in some kind of all night disco, like we were (we ended up getting moved). I should add that I found the staff to be friendly and professional though. Overall, if location is paramount, then this is a good choice, but it's expensive for the standard.
S. A.
Somewhat underwhelming. Courtesy bus from train station only holds 7 and the driver mislead us into believing there would be no more buses. Reception staff curt at best and the dirty wine glass left in my room was a disappointment. Good food though.

I booked the Hilton for my business trip because I relied on it being an up to date hotel with the usual commodities of a Hilton.
I was quite disappointed when I walked into my Twin Delux room and felt like I’d gone back to the 90’s. The TV is a pretty old (it even has a clock on it) LCD flat screen, where out of the few channels you can watch, at least a couple you can’t even see because the image is so disfigured. Half the buttons in the remote control don’t actually work, and when you press the menu one, absolutely nothing happens. I was welcomed by a moth on my pillow and heating that didn’t quite work to be honest. When I looked for an extra blanket in the closet, I was surprised to find none. The chair is peeling off, the phone on the bedside table doesn’t work, there was no alarm clock and there is absolutely no way the room temperature was 25 degrees at any point.
The towels were great as well as the Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries, but that’s about it when it comes to similarities to previous stays at Hilton Hotels.
Unless you are looking for a throw back to the 90’s, I wouldn’t recommend the Hilton Birmingham Metropole.
s. '.
Room service was very quick - took less than 2 minutes for them to arrived. As a party venue it was great - lots of space and decent food. Rooms are small and beds move when you sit on them or lean on them which is very inconvenient. They are generally clean but nothing outstanding
P. H.
The hotel is very popular, mainly due to its location next to both the airport (about a 5 minute car journey) and the NEC (10 minute walk).
However, the decor is a little dated, and in some places it does seem a little like 'The Shining'.
The food from the bar is the best value on offer - try ordering two sides and you'll have as much food as the main meals.
The rooms are fine, beds comfortable and roomy, although the age of the building does mean it can be stuffy on warmer days.
A. R.
I came here the 18th of January for afternoon tea & leisure access. I have never been to a hotel where i have been welcomed and felt looked after so much! Joanne who looked after us was amazing. Customer service was excellent! All the staff really looked after us but Joanne was by far the best she really is a credit to the hotel. I was celebrating my birthday, they went out their way to make me a little cake with a happy birthday sign on and sang happy birthday to me! I felt very special and was totally shocked. Would deffinetly reccomend going to this hotel! The afternoon tea was lovely, and the pool was out of this world!

Room 2053 - Queen ACCESSIBLE Deluxe
Room backed RIGHT onto not one but 3 elevators. The MAIN elevators.
Additionally the room was full of at least 15 to 20 tiny moths swarming around. But no windows were open. Additionally wallpaper was past it's best and peeling in places
Tried to settle in for the night but we couldn't cope with the constant lift noises. Extremely loud. Got switched rooms at 11pm. Credit where credit is due, the staff quickly and without debate switched us to another accessible room (4049) which whilst slightly smaller was in much better condition and more importantly quiet.
Double bed was extremely hard for our liking. I'd give it a Very Firm rating.
Bathroom was not very stylish or "nice" looking but perfectly served it's purpose with it's chair accessible layout, grab bars and shower seat. Some non-weightbearers however may struggle to successfully transfer to and from their wheelchair and the toilet / shower seat.
PROS:
-
- Room 4049 had a beautiful view out over the lake towards the Resort's World building.
- Wide range of options for Breakfast.
- Ability to pay for extended parking beyond your checkout time.
- Reasonably generous room sizes.
- In room safe.
- ALL of the bar area is fully accessible by way of a gently sloping ramp.
CONS:
--
- Rooms ending *053 on each floor is very noisy due to location next to lift shafts.
- No fridge which is disappointing in this day and age.
- Located a little further from the NEC entrance but within a 10 minute walk.
- Complementary WIFI (for Hilton Honors members) too weak to maintain any connection to the internet.
- TV in room very basic. Leading competitors at this site have Smart TVs as standard with ability to sign in to your own Netflix account.
In summary I would choose The Genting hotel over The Hilton Metrepole with prizes being similar depending on what events are happening at the NEC at the time. However would stay again at The Hilton if there was a large price saving to be made.
T. M.
The location was superb. We had access to the executive bar which had been moved into a reception room in the ground floor, as the hotel was very busy. Car parking overnight was £12 which was reasonable considering the proximity of the NEC. The food and service at the millers restaurant was excellent.
m. z.
Very helpful and polite staff. Would recommend this hotel .
j. f.
We stayed here last year and will admit this year was..... A bit of a let down....Each day our breakfasts were either cold or items missing... AND it's also £6 ON TOP of the tray charge!!! So be warned about that.
The best food we had was a salad box from the cart in the foyer. We ate it under a tree overlooking the pond.
Maintanance around the seating area could be looked at too.
Staff wasn't as friendly either and I actually caught an eye roll between 2 members of staff when I dared to enquire about something. (Reception )
Housekeeping was spotless as always.
Came home a day early as reception staff (apart from tia) made me feel a nuisance.
S. B.
Comfortable beds slightly hard, NO POOL even though advertised (it's a plunge/large tub with a free of 15 pounds person as it includes the spa that's not part of the hotel. Breakfast is AMAZING
s.
I think my expectations were way higher. Never been to a Hilton before, staff was nice, rooms are literally 3/5 okay ish. Food was my biggest problem. The food was so insanely mediocre. Again, this might just be me, it looks nice, feels premium, but it has its mistakes.
M. H.
This is a very large hotel, split into three blocks, close to the NEC and Birmingham airport. It has excellent conference facilities. I've stayed here four times. The rooms vary from block to block. Some are of the "loft" type being very small. I don't recommend these. The food in the breakfast room is OK, but there can be a lengthy queue.
A. W.
Loved this hotel nothing too much trouble
A. V.
Lovely hotel, great staff but lousy, virtually non existent vegan options. In a comprehensive bar menu there was a solitary option (superfood salad - yawn). Yesterday there was a veggie/vegan burger in the lobby but the bread roll wasn't vegan. It's a good job I bought a ton of food or I'd have been very hungry. Management should really wake up to the vegan explosion happening, literally, all around them.
S. L.
Came as part of a work event at the beginning of December. The rooms were lovely and clean and the conference spaced and food provided were great. Had a lovely stay and if I'm in the area again will definitely book here again
C. F.
Had a very enjoyable stay here for one night. However I was very disappointed with the Executive lounge. Having stayed in many Hilton hotels this was the worst Executive lounge I have come across. The drink service and breakfast were appalling. I appreciate the hotel was busy but this can't be the first time they've had that many people to cater for.
M. R.
Very handy for nearby concerts and staff were so friendly and accommodating. Accommodation itself was poor. Old musty smell in first room but they did move us to another room. Decor oitdated and cleanliness was ok. quite expensive for what we got. But I will reiterate staff made up accommodation ten fold.
T. F.
Went for a convention, staff friendly and helpful. Room clean, beds comfy, ensuite clean and good size. Food delicious. Only slight issue was that the room was hot with no option of cooling it down.
G. A.
Staying for company function. Ok-ish room clean but dated, poor TV quality and selection of the entertainment. Evening meal served was great while breakfast not so much. Smell in the room and corridors putting off - however, this may be very subjective. Located very conveniently.
D. V.
Large hotel with huge conference rooms for the big black tie events. Expensive for food and the drinks.
Car park is always full and it's often hard to find anywhere to park. The cover charges are high unless you have booked a room.
Some of the rooms were very dated, mainly in the older part of the building l so best to check where they want to put you.
M. T. A. T.
I come to this hotel every year and have enjoyed the hotel side of things, seems clean organized and reception are mostly polite at times! Room itself is nice and ok with everything you may need to assist in your stay. My only concern is and it may not apply to all that stay is the heath and spa area, generally the hotel has a good standard gym and swimming pool which I use every time I stay here but what really puts it down is the staff, most and not all I’ve come across are not very welcoming, no good morning, no smile, no nothing just a disgruntled look of why are you even here. I know it’s not really that important but as a early bird gym go’er it’s nice to have a smile and a welcome or maybe a enjoy your workout, it’s bad enough getting out of bed and then drag yourself to the gym, then greeted with staff that don’t want to be there! Anyway rant over about gym side of thing, I will say everything else is above good and recommend staying specially if your attending a near by concerts or shows!
R. C.
Nice hotel although it was absolutely packed when we stayed here, and there was virtually no parking available. We had to squeeze into a tiny space and pay rather over the odds (in my opinion) for the privilege. The executive rooms are very well furnished but don't expect peace and quiet in the executive lounge, it was full of noisy drunk people all afternoon and evening.
T. E.
Great customer service and excellent location for staying in Birmingham
J. I.
Good quality hotel serving the NEC and Birmingham airport. Excellent, high-end facilities including pool, large bar, conference suites and good restaurant. Concierge service on site. Parking is not free though, even for guests, which was disappointing.
R. B.
The spa reception area is more like a table in the middle of the room. The therapists seem to be aimlessly sitting around with no where to go. However the massage I received was very good and the therapist had been trained very well. I got full use of the facilities and all the staff was very nice.
T. C.
Stayed in room 403 for the UK AD & Biogas Exhibition. Nice bathroom but the room looked a bit dated. TV on the wall mount was wonky and the bed was on wheels though all in all a decent room. The main thing I realised I was missing was hotel information as the only booklet/guide was the "In-Room Dining" menu.
Health/wellness suit was sufficient for me though it was busy. Breakfast was one of the best I've had a Hilton hotel in the UK.
D. W.
The executive rooms are very nice, spacious and comfortable. Large comfy bed. Best to avoid the smaller delegate rooms on other part of hotel. Bathrooms do not have doors, maybe to save space but not a great idea
M. M.
Comfy and clean. VERY large hotel and it was quite noisy when I was there. I was only there over night, arriving quite late when a midweek function was in full flow. I slept well despite the noise but I am not a light sleeper at all.
C. S.
Used this hotel for two nights in November. Bedrooms was really well appointed albeit aimed at the single occupancy market( ie smallish bed and no door on the bathroom). Evening meals were good. Breakfast was great. Bar was very very expensive.
D. C.
Ideally placed for the airport and NEC and easy to get to as it's just off the M6. It's a good hotel with friendly, helpful and attentive staff and excellent facilities including a health club with a decent sized swimming pool although it's a bit warm if you plan on a serious swim but that does make it better for the kids to play in.
S. B.
Wonderful stay with excellent staff. Our rooms were clean and well maintained our only complaint was the lighting in the rooms as in the wasn’t enough light making the rooms appear gloomy. Would highly recommend this hotel.
T. M.
The location is great for easy access to the NEC with a path to the main entrance. Mattress protectors so thick it was like sleeping on an electric blanket on high setting. I didn't think the room or stay were worth what I paid. Would stay here again without hesitation.
D.
its OK, but starting to show its age in many places.
G. B.
Stayed here on numerous occasions. Staff are attentive and willing. A busy hotel because of its location. Allow dogs at a charge. Rooms are comfortable. In house dining and drinking is at hotel prices. The Concierge staff are extremely helpful.
M. R.
Even though I had a confirmed booking for 6 weeks they still seemed surprised when I tried to check in. Took a lot longer that I would have expected due to them having to get the manager to release some rooms. Room were small but had everything you would expect. TV channel choice very limited which was annoying. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very good.
H. S.
Nice hotel. Staff very friendly (with an exception of one of the concierge desk), go out of their way to help. Not sure if the rooms are worth the nightly rate though (could do with a revamp).
P. a. A. R.
Communal area of hotel very nice, however was disgusted to reach my room to find the bathroom smelling heavily of urine. On inspection the toilet had not been cleaned!! I rung reception and they said they would send someone to come clean it while I went to have dinner but when I came back it still smelt. By this time I was so tired I just went to sleep. Just pleased to only be staying one night. Hotel rooms are very tired and need improvement for the cost. Dinner in restaurant was ok but being a vegetarian I was limited to only 1 option! Breakfast on the other had was delicious and lots of vege options.
B. B.
Terrible view but everything else was lovely
G. H.
The hotel has close access to the Birmingham Business Park, NEC, Train station & Resorts World. The room I stayed in was modern, but did have problems with heating and I was provided a fan heater. The design of the room is unusual with no divide between the sleeping and bathing areas. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. The provided breakfast is excellent with lots of choice.
H. R.
Had a great stay in Hilton in Birmingham. Located on clapum road location is very ideal. Perfect for travellers
P. E.
Hello. I stayed in Hilton from 12 August till 17 august. Everything was nice except a few things, thats why i put 3 instead of 5. First of all the key-cards 4 or 5 times blocked and I had to go to the reception all the time. And it wasnt because I had a phone or something else that could demagnetize the cards, I always kept them aside from gadgets. And this was very unpleasant a few times when I really wanted to use the bathroom. A few times the cleaning staff didnt change the towels and didnt put new douche gel and shampoo. In my bathroom the plug for the shaver didnt work, they gave me an adaptor for that plug after 2 my requests. The breakfast was very delicious. They have very good conference rooms. The staff is 99% courteous. They have good gym room and pool.
But for this money, 113£ per night for my room its not worth it. At least for this price they could add dinner or make the rooms better.
But anyway I had a really great time, because I was with my friends :)
I really hope they will change this inconveniencies.
p.s. the place were the hotel is located its beatyful and a nice park with a fine lake.
K. T.
I visit this hotel a few times a year for conventions. It's always very busy but we love coming back, it's like our 2nd home. The rooms are always lovely and the beds are really comfortable. There can be a long wait for food in the bar during cons but the food stalls they have bought in have been amazing. Parking is a bit expensive but better if you have con discount. Food varies each time I go but the chicken parm I had last time was great. The gym and pool are lovely, great facilities. Always look forward to coming back
M. P.
The rooms were very utilitarian. Clean, but very old. The drinks were very expensive in the bar and the food was adequate. Location is excellent if you need to use Birmingham Airport which is why I suspect they haven't refurbished the place as they have a pretty captive market.
D. P.
Great customer service, restaurant food was good, Room was ok, but what impressed me the most was the breakfast. I have tried many breakfast around the globe and UK was not particularly on the top list, but I was highly surprised by the breakfast in this Hilton Hotel. A good variety and delicious. Room was ok, although the internet was not working on 2 nights of the 3 I stayed.
J. S.
This is the first time I've been in this Hilton and my first impressions are very good. The staff were friendly upon arrival and I had the peri-peri chicken for dinner which was tasty.
My room is slightly bigger than average and I'm pleased to say does have a plug socket by the bed! If I'm being hyper critical I'd say the bathroom is a wee bit small but the important thing is how the shower performs (I've not used it yet so can't comment).
I've not yet used the gym facilities - that'll be tomorrow - so I'll update my review then
E. R.
Lovely hotel in every respect and only a pleasant 5 minute walk to the NEC. However, watch out for the hidden charges! Some of which make you're eyes water.....£12 a day for WIFI, £12 a day for parking, £19 for breakfast and £11 for a glass of wine!! 🤤
Y. K.
Alot of building work going on, so quite noisy.
B. A.
This Hotel was probably one of the best hotels I ever stayed in! It was big, clean, and had very fast lifts between different floors. The entrance was very nice, and the parking was good.
Pro's:
Good parking
Clean
Big
Good elevators
Very fast food service
Nice rooms
Good location
Con's:
The Bar (There was no set price for the drinks, bar men just charged whatever they wanted, unorganized and slow service, not enough seats)
D. C.
A very busy Hilton well situated within the N.E.C. grounds, I found the service from all staff to be excellent and the spa facilities well maintained. The rooms were well laid out and clean with good views to the rear if the building and the added bonus of having a pop up craft brewery bar in the lobby
M. P.
Great location right next to the NEC which was where our conference was, good service, good food and fairly priced as long as you book on advance which we did. Facilities were top notch with a spa, pool and gym which we didn't use due to our schedules but were available to us if we had chosen.
E. B.
Was here for the enchanted convention. Didn't stay overnight but have stayed here previously. The convention housed around 1500 people over a few rooms and these were in the one side of the hotel. It's huge and easy to get lost in here. There were several events on over the weekend so was very busy. Food at the bar is over priced and took 40mins to get a sandwich at 3pm! Drinks are hotel prices too so pace yourself at the bar! Overall it's a nice hotel, the event was well run but I think this was starfury staff rather than the hotel. The parking is pricy so opt for train if you can. Close to nec, genting arena and sky bar.
S. (.
I love having a huge queen-size bed to myself, the room was clean and comfortable. Bar meals were tasty and reasonably priced for a hotel. Breakfast was great and the staff in the dining room very helpful and friendly.
N. F.
Don't be put off by the fact it looks like a inner city block of the flats, the inside of the hotel is very nice with nice facilities excellent service and good food. Be warned some of the rooms have very little in the way of functional air conditioning so if it's hot it's worth double checking the room gets cool before you unpack.
N. B.
Seriously disappointed! Roim service was terrible, no choice, food was late, bad quality and cold (and not cheap). The room had a serious moth infestation, I saw about 7. Looked over a roof despite being executive. Rooms were so tired and yhe bathroom wasnt great. No little luxeries in the room just a bottle of water, no mini bar or even fridge. The breakfast was poor, everything was run out, waiting for plates, then for spoons, then for glasses, just bad. Its one saving grace was the location.
S. D.
Stayed the 22nd sept to 24th 3017 attending the EGX 2017 at NEC . Overall they deserve 5 stars , I will do the bad news first we ordered a delux twin 4082 this weekend and I felt the beds were tiny not convinced they were a full sized single bed. I have spina spifda and 5ft 5 and felt like I was going to fall out and my feet where hanging at the end of the bed, but my son said he was fine, so I thought it was just me then.
The pool is lovely and family friendly which is a big plus. Any kids swimming were well behaved.
The staff in this hotel at all levels are really friendly and it is a big hotel.
However a special mention has to go to the waiters and waitresses in Millars now primavera I think . They were outstanding, mannerarly and so friendly and they were the reason I eat two evenings in a row.
I know managers have to run a tight ship but please never change the way these guys take special care and give you that time. It created a wonderful experience.
All in all thank you we had a great weekend and would be back.
N. S.
Fantastic staff, great hotel (albeit a little tired in places). Attended as part of a convention, was made to feel welcome, the staff and service were second to none, food was good too and their hosting of the convention was flawless.
S. R.
Had our staff party here and the accommodation was good. Rooms tidy and clean and the function rooms spacious and well played out. Really enjoyed my stay.
A. K.
Typical conference hotel
Long corridors executive style rooms. All you need. Lots of corporate events. Helpful staff.
Ps magnetised keys often don't work. Long walk back to reception. Get another one before you go out.
N. H.
Nice and inviting entrance to the hotel. Staff were all very welcoming and acknowledged me as I walked around. Room was a slight let down, a bit tired and the shower was a bit temperamental but overall I had a good event, stay and experience. I'm sure I'll be back.
V. V.
Stayed for 3 nights.staff are above excellent. The shuttle bus was a Godsend and while the hotel need a bit of attention as we had a water leak in our room and the water in the toil etc kept coming down,I would definitely stay her again. The breakfast is also great plentyfull and good
C. M.
Large hotel perfectly situated if your working or visiting the NEC.
Rooms are clean but a bit dated. Has a large pool, gym, Jacuzzi which open early.
The food is pretty ordinarily and you have a choice of two restaurants and the bar. The drinks are very expensive and the service is atrocious which makes it more annoying paying those kind of prices (at least £5 a pint).
The feel of the place is pretty soulless but after the case in large hotels like this.
Parking onsite which is chargeable and paid on departure. Hotel has free WiFi.
D. B.
Ok. Room was tired and more similar to a Best Western than normal Hilton standard.
Not sure if housekeeping is trying to be green, but I dont really want to use other people used soap, thank you!
Room also noisy due to outside aircon unit.
N. G.
Superb hotel and love the Cfz convention. Cannot wait for next year after this one was cancelled. Always very polite staff and wonderful clean rooms we find.
H. G.
Comfortable and clean room and good facilities, but all rather pricy. Didn't get all the information needed at check-in for WiFi, parking etc, so a little confusing. Good location though, and very friendly staff.
C. O.
Have stayed in alot of Hiltons hotels and by far the worst rooms. The only thing holding this hotel together is the staff. Liam on concierge and the ladies at breakfast were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms need renovations badly. Stayed in executive rooms and very standard. Twin rooms are very small with on of the beds sloping.
L. H.
Great rooms, good gym and pool well located for travel v.expensive bar.
J. B.
Stunning hotel with staff that went out of their way too look after our entire company. 5 minutes walk from the NEC, it catered for everything we needed. Rooms are spacious and everything you could need included.
D. M.
Stayed in room 404 in May. Checked in in advance so all I had to do was pick up my keycard and sign a few times, all sorted very quickly by Steff.
The room is advertised as a single Hilton deluxe which was refurbished in May 2014. Having been here many times prior to that, I see they've added frosted glass between the shower and inner part of the room - something I've seen a lot of in Asia. There's no bathroom door anymore, instead the bathroom is open and the bathtub is gone. The room seems narrower than before - I did call ahead about getting an extra bed in and I guess that's why it wasn't allowed. However the bed is queen size so my other half could have accompanied me in the end which I wasn't too happy about.
Very satisfied with the cleaning each day and all toiletries were replenished. Wasn't too fond of having to close the toilet lid each time to flush, though, due to where the button is located. The free wifi for HHonors members was a little erratic and I expected better.
There were food stalls laid out in reception for lunch and dinner over the weekend which is always a bonus if you don't have time or can't be bothered to venture out. They even had dessert and an ice-cream cart.
I liked how I no longer need to insert a parking ticket in the machine on my way out as the barrier opens automatically after recognising the licence plate.
Overall, staff are always great and the hotel is clean and modern (inside).

A nice hotel, ideal location for the NEC. I last visited here 2 months ago, but have visited several times over the years whilst attending various exhibitions. A great bar area, swimming pool and nice rooms too.

Did not stay and they kindley allowed us to leave without charge. The executive room I had was perfect, just the right size and had a generous amount of space and a balcony. Staff were all very helpful. I love this property and look forward to my next stay.

Fantastic staff, great hotel (albeit a little tired in places). Attended as part of a convention, was made to feel welcome, the staff and service were second to none, food was good too and their hosting of the convention was flawless.

I booked the Hilton for my business trip because I relied on it being an up to date hotel with the usual commodities of a Hilton.
I was quite disappointed when I walked into my Twin Delux room and felt like I’d …

Hotel is clean and the staff is excellent. Only issue I have is the rooms. Stayed at a number of Hilton hotels and this one has the smallest rooms. Everything seems old. The exec room wasn't anywhere near what I was expecting.

Lovely hotel, great staff but lousy, virtually non existent vegan options. In a comprehensive bar menu there was a solitary option (superfood salad - yawn). Yesterday there was a veggie/vegan burger in the lobby but the bread roll wasn't …

I love having a huge queen-size bed to myself, the room was clean and comfortable. Bar meals were tasty and reasonably priced for a hotel. Breakfast was great and the staff in the dining room very helpful and friendly.

Room modern but compact. Cleanliness not what it should be- urine odour in bathroom and also in leisure club changing area. Nose mucous on toilet wall. Boulevard restaurant excessively expensive. Location perfect for Birmingham NEC and airport, hence why 3* given and not lower. Hotel just been sold- now a Hilton franchise.

Fantastic stay. Perfect location for Genting Arena. 5 stars for all your staff - polite, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy. Pre concert menu for a 3 course meal plus a glass of prosecco £20, great value.

My stay at the Birmingham Hilton has been quite enjoyable. The staff and facility are both friendly and comfortable. The fitness facilities are above average for even a Hilton property and its proximety to the NEC makes attending events there very convenient.
