We had booked multiple rooms and needed extra pillows, bedding sheets etc. She even managed to find us another room at very short notice. J. T.Hotel ok. Good for workman no one will notice your dirty work boots as hotel a bit tired. but not for business or holiday guest. Room not dusted stained duvet, toothpaste in glass from last guest. Hotel looks tired and needs a coat of paint and new carpet. Breakfast good. But evening meal choice is limited and quality varies each nite. Pot luck if food is hot or cold. Hotel asked for rating on departure. I gave 7 out of 10 as it served my purpose. I have stayed in many holiday Inn that I would rate 10 out of 10.
I. D.We were part of an organised event for 60 people over 2 nights. The hotel staff were a delight, very helpful and friendly. The parking was free because we had a room booked. The room was very spacious, clean, tidy and updated. Yes the bathroom was small but perfectly functional. It was up to date and modern, the shower was great. Some of our friends used the hotel pool and gym, no complaints. The food for the function was first class, as was the breakfast. The bar and communal area was very comfortable and modern. We are travelling in the area next week and will definately book this hotel again. Oh and there was tea and coffee facilities in the room with excellent TV reception. An excellent, clean comfortable place to stay.
M. T.Stayed over night with my son room very clean and comfortable. Love using the pool and facilities. When I arrived yesterday afternoon staff on the front desk were not so helpful just handed me the room key and that was it . However I found the bar staff more helpful in answering my questions . Food menu nit so good, very limited and comes out nothing like it us shown on the menu . My starter came out 10 minutes before my sons but again thanks to the barstaff he sorted it out for us and gave us 2 extra drinks on the house . Service very slow. Breakfast was great . When checked out this morning staff kn the front desk more friendly and helpful than when I checked in .
t.If you need a weekend of relaxation with your family or just your partner or friends, this is an ideal place to stay.
It is family friendly and kids/teenagers eat free.
The leisure facilities are excellent and the hotel grounds are there to explore.
I have been staying annually at this hotel for over 13 years. My family and I come here for a weekend break every year and we all love it. The staff have always been wonderful to us so far, over the years.

V.On arrival my preferences were not actioned so we had to deal with that to ensure our baby had somewhere to sleep. The staff were very helpful and kind and although the room appeared clean we found a random sock under one of the beds, the bathroom was particularly small considering 4 of us were staying in there.
Breakfast was good both days but lacking selection on the second day which was a little disappointing.
The beds were comfy and we managed some relax time on our arrival but the second night was extremely noisy with a large dog barking and waking our children.
Over all, being a frequent traveller and an IHG customer, I expected better.

Their breakfast was awesome and the staff specially Roxana & Deni, were very friendly and courteous, made it a memorable one for us. K.1. Only one door key card was available. One receptionist thought that because the rooms had new locks fitted, the software would cancel the first electronic key card if a second was issued. The other receptionist on the desk at the same time thought the restriction was because there were an insufficient number of key cards.
2. The room safe was locked and unavailable for use. On registering this with reception, I was told none of the Premium Room safes were functioning anywhere in the hotel.
3. Answering of the Reception ‘phone took an inordinate length of time. Insufficient staff on hand.
4. The extractor fan in the bathroom did not function.
5. There was insufficient wardrobe space for two people staying two nights and attending a formal wear function in the hotel. There were no additional wall clothes hooks available in the room to make up for this shortfall. The obvious place for these would have been in the redundant space between the the room door and the wardrobe.
6. The left-hand wardrobe door in Room 234 was out of alignment with its partner and the wardrobe therefore did not close properly. The left-hand door needs rehanging.
7. The complimentary coffee machine did not function, being unable to deliver hot water, as a consequence of what presented as classic symptoms of heavy limescaling.
7. Checking out at Reception on the morning of Sunday the 9th of October took an inordinate length of time. Insufficient staff on hand.
R. S.Just stayed overnight following birthday party, staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Room was clean. Did have a mix up with card charge for the room but have to say it was quickly resolved and these things happen. Can't fault Holiday Inn , junction 7
P. G.Today after an awful drive and ending up in one of your not so fab rooms, surrounded by pot smoking party goers, I was thankfully moved to a quieter end of the hotel with my children.
VERTA, if that's how her name is spelt was the lady who came to sort out the bedding for my children's sofa bed.
To say she is a lovely, kind, thoughtful and caring individual is an understatement.
She is the credit that your hotels need.
I sincerely hope that regardless of where she may be on your payroll, that you pass on to her how wonderful an employee she is.
Not only did she spend the time to ask how we were doing, and if we needed anything more, she engaged with my children, and made our day.
I really hope she gets the recognition she deserves.

C.Stayed for a conference I was attending in Birmingham. Our room 112 was a long walk from reception, when we got our room some of the wall paper has started to peel away from the wall which isn't great. However the room was nice and clean. The bathroom was very small but functional. The shower was amazing, really powerful walk in shower with a proper temperature control I was very happy.
We added breakfast onto our stay it had been given a 'special rate' of £10 per person. The breakfast buffet was good and functional. The hot full English breakfast was delicious (love the little hash browns) however the continental was left a little lacking. Pre pandemic holiday inn would have freshly baked pastries and bread which not only tasted amazing but smelt incredible. That has all gone now moving to the pre packaged croissants and pain au chocolate. It might sound trivial but it's things like this that turn a good breakfast into an excellent one. Therefore the breakfast is as good as you will find anywhere else not necessarily better. Also the cost even at a special rate was too high. Always get bed and breakfast included in your stay it added an extra £40 for our 2 night stay. That at a budget hotel is a lot extra!
I will say we were fortunately up quite late on the Saturday night, as very late on I heard a lot of glass bottles being thrown into the bins which made a really loud noise. It must have been around 11.30 and was really loud enough to wake someone up. Lots of the staff has in training on their badges which is fine but might lead to moments like this.
Overall the stay was what I needed it to be. Bed comfy, room clean and breakfast was good. It is a budget chain and this can be seen through the details above but I've come away happy we stayed. If the price and location are what you need then it does the job.

1.The food at the hotel was lovely however the only thing that let it down was the waiter/waitress service. The staff were very polite however, the online ordering of food left a lot to be desired. I waited almost an hour for my meal to be delivered to the table and I gave up after 2 hours for the lager I ordered to arrive. Clearly some clarification is required on the use of the online system. Staff were very accommodating but the drinks never appeared. This was a common fault for other guests at the hotel.

This property looks a bit tired. Some of the plastic panels at the entrance have fallen off and I noticed the paint was beginning to peel at the bottom of the bathroom door. I suspect the lack of business and additional costs due to Covid and various lockdowns hasn't helped the maintenance budget. Lack of trade probably contributed to the two UHT milk cartons that were off (Batch 220 on bottom) that I encountered on the day of departure.
I was somewhat stunned that the digital TV was unable to show subtitles. The range of channels available was only a small portion of the Freeview range

As a blue badge disabled driver I parked in the disabled bay. TAMMY the receptionist assured me it was free parking though I should register my car. She processed the booking quickly and efficiently and directed us to a ground floor room.
Unfortunately (and repeatedly) the key cards refused to work. I was informed to keep the card separate from my phone but no avail. Several return trips were made to reception to get the cards renewed.
I ordered a pleasant supper of whitebait
(see picture) although for a vegetarian fish eater, the menu lacked choice. It was served without delay.
Mention must be made of the hot chocolate which was not only delicious, it was Hot!
In the morning I was greeted by AMANDA in the health suite who was very kind and informative. I did ask her for a towel so I could shower and one was duly given, with a smile.
Breakfast buffet style went without a hitch and the staff cleared the crockery politely and efficiently.
All in all, I found the hotel although a little down at heel in decor compared to other Holiday Inns I have stayed in, there were good efforts to give us a good comfortable welcome.
Negatives: No fridge, faulty key cards.
Positives: Clean bedrooms, quiet location, friendly staff.
