Had a lovely weekend break staying at this hotel. We arrived early (about 1.30) and our room was ready so they allowed us to check in early (check in not till 3) the receptionist was very helpful and friendly!
The room was clean, nicely decorated and spacious with large windows which made the room very bright with beautiful views over the meadows. The location is also great in a very green and peaceful area a short walk from the centre.
Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options to choose from (I had full Scottish breakfast (haggis, black pudding, potato cake, beans, tomato, egg, mushroom, sausage and bacon) and scrambled egg, smoked salmon on sourdough toast the following morning.
My only criticism is £10 per night seems quite expensive for parking, instead we used the park and ride which was only a 30 minute bus ride away

My extremely weird experience.
To keep this as quick as possible I’m just going to list my thoughts and observations and say don’t go to the restaurant.
- Originally booked a twin room, found them put together.
- Refreshments were slightly unorganised.
- Extremely thing walls, we heard music from the next room.
- Finding the restaurant was difficult, ended up outside.
- Long wait to be seated at the restaurant, then all of a sudden three different people all came at once to help.
- The music played at the restaurant was very out of place.
- There we’re Xmas decorations up at restaurant in late MARCH!
- They didn’t take menu once ordered.
- TV was muted (normal) but no subtitles.
- Food is largely over priced for what you get but my mum said my plate was nice.
- We we’re told about a big disco tonight, but it’s 9:44PM and no evidence of said disco, also the disco was used as an excuse to for delayed food however it was really not busy.
And we still have a few nights left! Who know that other things will happen.

Spacious, clean, recently refurbished hotel.
Friendly, helpful staff, plus excellent breakfast.
The only downside, you can't in get in your room until 3 pm and there's now a parking charge, £10.

Great place for a few drinks before and after the rugby last weekend. Service at the bar was quick and no problem getting space to drink. Would definitely visit again!

My mother is disabled so i was pleased to see there was easy access into the hotel and to our room in a wheelchair.
Rooms were newly refurbished and lovely. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great.
Good central location- near to everything.

Very pleasant stay. Staff was polite, room was clean and looked as I expected and the breakfast was great. Would come again!

Stayed at this hotel several times. It is located close to the city centre. Staff are friendly, hotel is very clean and the breakfast is excellent.

Overall was a pleasant stay, staff were friendly and hotel is clean. However a few points I would like to highlight;
Construction work was taking place so it would get noisy and inconvenient at times.
Breakfast choice was rather limited and quality could be improved.
Parking is a major issue, luckily we didn’t face any problem regarding this but it can cause anxiety once you leave the car park, you are not guaranteed a spot even after you have actually checked in and are actually staying at the property which I found extremely bizarre and frustrating. It makes you feel a bit unwelcome.
+location of the hotel is great! And the building is also very nice.
+dinner was nice but just the desserts need a little work
Overall a nice stay!

Stayed for a night and it was pleasant. The lady on the front desk was so friendly and really went above and beyond to help us without us having to ask. The room was nice, quiet and large and had a fan provided in the warm weather. Breakfast was really nice!! I feel the room (especially the bathroom) could have been cleaner as there were quite a few hairs on the floor and in the bath & shower. The car park is also much too small and annoying that you have to pay to use it (though perhaps if it was free it would get too full). However overall I was pleased with our choice of hotel.

Overall a great stay, food and staff were excellent, electric charging was great (although parking is paid for at £10 a night), entrance to the hotel was lovely, but the rooms are in need of updating. They were bland, drab, and felt unclean due to the wear of the carpets, furniture and doors. Street noise noticeable too, no soundproofing on windows. Restaurant quality was excellent, as was breakfast. Mostly satisfied, but to me falls short of 4 star on room quality.

Really nice hotel. Staff really helpful. Would recommend a room away from front of hotel due to passing traffic. Was very hot so the windows were open. Traffic is fairly constant. Breakfast was spot on with good variety. Something for every kind of taste. Wee men loved that they could have coco pops and then a fry up... happy days 😀. Would recommend a stay. Fairly central, with most things walkable of fit for it.

Good hotel which was reasonably priced as was the breakfast.
Located not to far from centre.
Parking is very very limited and the on street parking is both expensive and time limited to between 2 and 4 hours with no option of extending this. Staff were good.
Our only problem was the room was right next to the kitchen extractor fan which gave a constant drone from about 6am till late.

Booked an executive room at £100pn for 3 nights. Room definitely large enough but tired and needs the refurbishment which is in the process of happening. Always felt a bit gloomy inside irrespective of the time of day and had to have the lights on most of the time.
Location is good and Bruntsfield itself is great for coffee shops, eateries and independent shops and the large park opposite.
Walked into the city centre most days and caught the no 16 bus back to the hotel.
Would stay here again once the refurbishment is finished.

Stayed three nights. Found hotel to be Covid secure. Good location within a walkable distance to city centre either through the parks or via street. Excellent service from ALL staff. Food quality very good. Quite rooms allowing a good sleep. Very comfortable bed. One slight downside is the limited parking if you are driving. If we ever return to Edinburgh would happily stay here again.

Lovely hotel a 20 minute walk from castle

Excellent hotel in great location close to city centre.
Usher Hall, Traverse Theatre and cinema just minutes walk. Castle about 15 minutes walk and great bus service for those who require it.
Breakfast excellent and best of all, wonderful staff - would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

Good fun here with friends

Nice homely atmosphere to this hotel. food always a good standard also rooms of a good standard and "yes the beds are very comfortable". close to center of town but very quiet at night. Stayed here several times throughout the years and always one of my first choices for an Edinburgh stay.

A family dinner occasion, the food was delicious and staff very helpful and friendly

We enjoyed staying here on three different occasions. It is convenient but, a healthy walk to the historic sites. We like to walk but, found taxis conveniently located when we needed one. The rooms are nicely furnished and the bathrooms were clean. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to fulfill our requests. The hotel's Bisque Restaurant is excellent and breakfasts are very good. The beds were firm and to our liking.

Lovely friendly staff, felt welcomed straight away and everyone at reception was lovely when passing by.
The room was fine, had a bath which we had hoped for and it was all presented well.
Had booked a standard double room apparently was put in executive double. Found it a bit odd the bed was two twin beds pushed together with sheets on top... and was slightly disappointed by that at first. But! It was lovely and comfy! And meant my partner could be further away from my snoring hahaha.
Breakfast was also good, lovely selection and great hot food menu. The staff were always friendly and efficient.
Thanks!
L. B.
Excellent hotel, great view of the castle from our room, not over the top expensive, extremely helpful staff. Tremendous location. HUGE comfortable bed. Very good breakfast in a really nice breakfast room. Good tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Bath/shower room very nice. Free parking. Absolutely nothing else required of a hotel. Upgrades were being offered. I didn't see what upgrade was needed! Those rooms must have been beyond nice.

I stayed at this hotel while on vacation and it was a great hotel to stay in! The staff was great and the room was nice and clean upon arrival. The only downside of this hotel is the parking. The parking was not good at all, and I had to leave my rental car in the parking lot for my entire stay (3 days). Otherwise, I would have risked losing my spot and there was not parking close nearby.
The taxi service to this hotel was great and all my rides from the hotel into the city were no longer than 10-15 minutes. The front desk can call a taxi for you and it will meet you at the entrance of the hotel. I liked the location of the hotel because you could walk instead of taking a taxi.
Overall it was a good experience; however, I plan on staying somewhere else during my next trip to Edinburgh. Primarily due to the parking. Otherwise, this was a very nice hotel and you won't be disappointed with your stay here.
M. R.
Have stayed in this hotel several times as my son lives close by. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast is excellent. The staff can get overwhelmed during a busy period, but are nevertheless charming and helpful.
s.
Very good firm mattress, good breakfast service. Gave room w double bed instead of twin room requested but we got an extra duvet.
J. S.
Modern, fresh and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Room i stayed in was small, but that was to be expected, don't stay here if you are after an apartment feel. Only negative was that they had an issue in the kitchen so could not provide all the breakfast options.
Will definitely look to stay her again on my next trip.

We had the family room for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids aged 7 and 11). This was perfect for us, lots of space. The carpet in our bedroom could however do with a deep clean or maybe changing. The building is lovely, all staff were very nice and breakfast is excellent. The location is practical for Edinburgh town centre as it is within walking distance or a short bus ride but rather quiet. A lot of restaurants and independent shops within a 10 minutes walking distance.
J. A.
I stayed over Christmas. The hotel has been refurbished and looks lovely. My room was upgraded to a superior and was a super room with plenty of space and a very comfortable bed. The manager was very friendly and helpful as were all the staff.
The hotel is in a lovely area of Edinburgh with lots of shops nearby.
I will definitely stay there again.
R. D.
Pretty nice, restaurant very nice. Rooms were comfortable, but with 85% humidity and mid 60's(15-16c) the open window and oscillating fan didn't help. Never used covers on the bed. Nice experience, only 25 minute walk to the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle.
M. J.
We have stayed here many times while visiting family nearby. The staff at the hotel is warm and welcoming. The Internet connection worked well.. The rooms and beds are clean and comfortable. It took us a while to figure out how to adjust the heat in the room. Bus transportation to the center city is readily available. Although the breakfast menu has a variety of offerings they remain the same year after year.
K. L.
It was a fantastic stay. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The people were great and very accommodating. The food was great and the service was even better.
The hotel is located in a great spot easy walk maybe 20 minutes to the castle and a lot of things to do around the hotel.
When we come to Edinburgh again, we will definitely stay here.
G. W.
Clean rooms, friendly staff. A great place to lay your head down while in Edinburgh. Situated right beside the picturesque Meadows. Breakfast was good, service was fast and i would recommend this hotel to others. Only downside for me was the heat in our room. Even with the fan on all night it was uncomfortably warm.
G. M.
Comfortable rooms. Friendly helpful welcoming staff. Good food and great price. I booked direct with the company as prices were every bit as good as market sites. Saul on reception when we arrived was very kind and helpful went that extra mile to ensure we had everything we required. Highly Recommend the Bruntsfield hotel. Convenient access to the city. Overlooks a lovey green space.I will definitely be back. Thank you Bruntsfield for a very comfortable stay.
C. H.
Great place to stay. Super bathrooms and very comfortable bed. We had a free upgrade. Staff were fantastically helpful and polite. Lovely breakfast overlooking a courtyard garden. Able to park in the car park. Will definitely stay here again if we come back to Edinburgh. Within walking distance of lots of places to eat and the university - so very convenient.

The hotel was lovely and so were the rooms. Very spacious and clean! Only problem was location. It was pretty terrible. You had to walk a mile+ to get anywhere. But that’s our fault!

A fantastic hotel and a fantastic stay. I got sent an email a few days before offering me to enter a lottery for an upgrade to a four poster bed room and for up to £20 I thought what the hell! My bid was successful and the room was fantastic. My partner was over the moon with the surprise. The reception staff couldn’t help more if they tried. They were very friendly and provided lots of information about the local area and offered to book a taxi etc. The room was amazing and we had a lovely night. Partner slept for over 12 hours which is kind of unheard of! I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.

After spending 2 nights at the hotel l must say the Breakfasts were wonderful, staff serving lovely and friendly. I was on a Reunion weekend and the evening meal etc was delicious. I was how ever very disappointed in our room, l had originally booked a Double Executive room, but changed to a Twin as was sharing with my friend, Executive Twin l was told, but the room was small, one small window looking out back of hotel. Toiletries were for one only, also just one pkt of biscuits supplied with T/C.Was looking forward to a room looking onto the BRUNTSFIELD PARK in all its glory. Was told by receptionist all twin rooms are side rooms, feel l should of been told this when l changed booking

Quiet bar, quick service, a bit expensive

A lovely hotel, just a short walk from the city centre. Our room was amazing, including a stunning footed bath! All staff were pleasant & helpful, and the breakfast was fabulous - a fantastic continental selection, including gluten & sugar free options, followed by delicious smoked salmon & scrambled eggs or full Scottish breakfast...delicious!

Lovely hotel a 20 minute walk from castle

A stunning hotel near the city. Stayed a few times now and always a great place.

I had a beautiful stay at the BW Bruntsfield Hotel in Edinburgh. The staff and their services were fantastic. I enjoyed my meals. I also enjoyed the services at the bar. The rooms are clean but could be more spacious. I have no reservations whatsoever in recommending the hotel to other visitors
K. T.
Very comfortable hotel.Excellent breakfasts and dinners. Good elevator. Spacious room. The bathroom tub was not accessible because the tub was too high for me to climb in with my hip difficulty.Otherwise the room was fine. The electricity key was interesting.

Good location excellent room lovely bar

I really enjoyed my stay here. It's about a mile away from the Royal Mile and the Front Desk was super helpful in letting you know which bus to take and making change since the busses are exact change only. We were tired our first night and ate at the restaurant in the hotel and were very pleased. Also, there are many restaurants in the area to choose from. Hotel is nicely decorated as was my room and the hotel is impeccably clean.
エ.
Prepaid for my room but was asked for my card, which didn't seem odd as I assumed it was for damage deposit/incidentals but they charged me for my room again. I live in Australia and used my Australian card, so this meant I also got charged a service fee and the worst exchange rate for GBP. It also meant that the money I had budgeted for meals and what not was consumed and since it apparently takes 7 business days to refund me I was left with empty pockets for my stay. To add insult to injury, I was the one that discovered the error and was told they'd have to "investigate it" and get back to me even though I was standing in front of them with two paid invoices and my bank statement. Nobody did get back to me though. I had to check with the front desk three times. It didn't get sorted until the third day of my five day stay and then I get told it should show up in my bank by the time I leave the country and I have no recourse. No restaurant, no fridge in the rooms and no info/help on what's around or what's open. Kept the window open 24hrs a day and it was always too warm. Not impressed. Will look for somewhere else to stay when I return to Edinburgh.
H. W.
An excellent stay for a visit to the Edinburgh Tattoo and general city visit. Facilities and staff were very good. Would recommend this hotel - it is within walking distance of the city (various routes) and is opposite a park which makes for a spacious outlook.
The restaurant serves very good food with varied menu and the staff are helpful and charming.
Definitely deserves a five star review !!

Well run hotel we had a lovely room. Food is excellent breakfasts really good 2 kinds of gluten free cereal available. All staff friendly and helpful. Josh made sure I knew exactly what I could eat on the evening menu, being a Coeliac his help was invaluable. Graham and Iain were also stand out members of staff all three were outstanding in their courtesy and helpfulness

Lovely hotel very comfortable nice breakfast limited parking due to renovations

We stayed for three nights over Hogmanay, had a wonderful stay in this hotel, friendly efficient staff, menu varied, lots of choice, food fresh and very tasty. Rooms clean, spacious and quiet. However the room rates were exorbitant even allowing for the fact that we expect room rate increases for certain events. The prices were over the top when compared to the normal rates at this hotel.
N. K.
A beautiful, warm welcoming hotel in a great location close to central Edinburgh and overlooking the Meadows, with a glimpse of the castle from some rooms. The hotel is a massive, stone building in traditional Scottish style, but tastefully modernised. Lovely spacious rooms with some great views. Excellent value at this time of year, with a superb breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. The only downside were some grumpy guests complaining rudely - well done to the staff for dealing with them politely. We look forward to many more visits and will not even consider any other central hotels....
T. R.
Really nice room, comfortable bed and although it's on the street there was no noise at night so we had a brilliant nights sleep recovering from a week of camping in the highlands! Service was great and breakfast was really good. Good location about half an hour walk to the royal mile but staff at reception would have been happy to call a taxi for us.
J. A.
Reception staff are friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much hassle. The room was big and classically decorated. We were in an executive double which I am not sure is any different from the classic double rooms(maybe to do with the size of the room; it was huge). Free car parking at the hotel which is an absolute luxury in that part of Edinburgh and the price was very good value. Breakfast was fantastic lots of choice in continental section and order taken for hot cooked breakfast. I had full Scottish and it was beautiful; excellent quality, well presented and cooked to perfection! We had a few drinks in the bar; great selection of whiskeys and gins but as in most bars in Edinburgh a little pricey! Would definitely recommend this hotel as lovely quiet part of Edinburgh but city centre walkable in about 20mins.
C. C.
Overall this hotel is a good bet for a place to stay in Edinburgh. It's in a beautiful setting, with easy access to bus routes to get to City Centre. I preferred to walk to town most days, usually taking the route through Bruntsfield Links (across the street from the hotel) and through the Meadows, a beautiful park. Overall the staff is good, with some of them truly outstanding, including the assistant manager, Iain, and Angela on the front desk. My room was a nice size and the bathroom was spacious as bathrooms go in Europe. There is a lift in the hotel. And, of course, there is a kettle and tea, coffee and biscuits. The restaurant has okay food, but, overall, the staff isn't very good or friendly. It seems to be a stand alone in some ways, otherwise I might have rated the hotel 3 stars. The reason I gave the hotel the 4 stars instead of 5 is the internet; it is really slow, even slower than in other places in Scotland. And the televisions have the speakers in the rear. Unfortunately, when you turn up the volume, the sound goes through the wall into the next room. The televisions could use sound bars. Overall, though, the hotel is a nice place to stay and I think a good value for the money.

I was fortunate enough to stay at this marvelous hotel over Hogmanay 2018 while in Scotland. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a warm, smiling face and made to feel at home! The staff here are incredible folks who take the business seriously and the hotel is meticulously maintained and upkept, the prices are very reasonable with a good location as well. And the bar/restaurant is absolutely amazing with knowledgeable staff and great service! See for yourself and Happy Travels people!

We were invited to a friend's wedding. The hotel provided a very welcoming atmosphere, nice period features and a very well supplied bar.
We didn't have a room there but all friends who stayed overnight were very happy with the rooms and especially with the mattresses.
M. W.
We are just half way through our vacation but I am driven to say what a fabulous hotel this is and so reasonably priced. All that staff are exceptionally helpful and nothing was too much trouble for us. Our room was very spacious so even my wife in her electric chair could move around easily unlike some hotels where we even have to move the bed just to get into the room! The Bruntsfield has my vote for hotel of the year for service and value. Thank you for making our anniversary break so stress free.
c. d.
Had a lovely stay here. Comfy bed, tasty breakfasts and helpful staff. On the 23 bus route which took us all over the city and to the Botanical Gardens. Walked home over the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links a few times from the city centre. Hotel located in nice area. Will be back.
J. W.
Location is just a short walk from the castle and the service, room and shower were amazing. Night time meals and breakfast were stunning. The only downside I could see is that the mattress was very soft and bouncy. Would stay again without question
I. K.
My husband (not very good on computers)booked the hotel but had trouble with his computer and credit card and thought the booking had not gone through and booked again the next day only to find out the first booking had gone through too. They treated it as a cancellation and refused to refund. . They offered us a free meal or a reducion for our next stay but since we were in Edinburgh to celebrate our granddaughters 6th birthday, that was of no use to us. Living on a pension our budget is tight and not being able to use the room felt like such a waste so we offered it to Help for Heroes, a charity that offers help to veterans who have gone through difficult times. Credit to the hotel when I asked them if they could supply a free meal to whoever took the room, they said they would do..
Staf was friendly but the hotel is a bit dated and corridors confusely signed. PR could be better if somebody makes a genuine mistake.
J. M.
Lovely hotel. Rooms very hot though. Thank goodness there was a fan in the room. Breakfast cold selection was very good but cooked breakfast was disappointing due to the quality of the food, not the cooking.
L. C.
Stayed at The Bruntsfield several times previously and have always been more than happy, however slightly disappointed in my most recent visit. One biscuit in tray for a superior room with two persons not acceptable, second breakfast spoiled by the three young waitresses laughing and joking which meant i had to ask to make order for breakfast. Has not stopped me booking for December though. Always stay in Best Western hotels and am Diamond card holder, first time i have ever raised any issues.
A. C.
The food at the Bisque restaurant is surprisingly good and well priced. The fare should cater for most palates, with a selection of decent meat and fish dishes. The homemade burgers are also very good, while desserts are plentiful. Although situated at the back of the downstairs bar, the eating area opens out into a bright extension, belying the rather enclosed feeling of the bar itself. Despite being centrally located, the restaurant is rarely busy, so you may be able to get away without a reservation.
I. M.
Clean, comfortable, reasonably priced hotel in Edinburgh. Enjoyed my stay here.
N. M.
We booked the Cadoon suite for our wedding and we definitely made the right choice.
Right from the get go the staff were absolutely fantastic and took all the stress, worry and anxiety away.
Great communications throughout the whole process.
Very experienced staff made us feel completely at ease and relaxed.
The venue on the day was 2nd to none with every detail catered for.
Our guests all said the venue was amazing and the food was gorgeous.
I can't single out a member of staff they are all brilliant and made our special day our perfect day.
J. M.
Plus: big rooms, comfortable bed, great location, super friendly staff.
Cons: I had to park my rental on the street, there's barely any parking in the hotel, it's a really small parking lot. Rooms are a little noisy (floors cracking).
Overall a good experience !
m. j.
Great customer service, fast welcoming clean and COVID secure
The deputy manager was very friendly sarah and dougie were fantastic hosts who are assets to your company
Food was delicious and all fresh
Will definitely be coming again

Wonderful place to stay - just about right distance from the town centre - a lovely morning stroll across the links and meadow to all parts of Edinburgh.
Rooms warm and cosy.
Restaurant menu a little "chain" but was very well prepared and well received after a very long journey up to the city.
F. M.
Lovely hotel, with big, clean and comfortable guest rooms. Breakfast is lovely, perhaps the bar area could benefit from a refurbishment. But overall a great place to stay.
S. A.
Great service and food as always. Very relaxing atmosphere
D. M.
Not the most centrally situated hotel in Edinburgh, but on regular visits I find it consistently clean and comfortable in a pleasantly quiet area of Edinburgh. Great breakfast. Bus stop a few metres away gives access to city centre, or if fine day a 20-minute leisurely stroll into town through the delightful Bruntsfield Links. My kind of place!
J. C.
Friendly, charming and not very corporate. All the staff are lovely. Comfortable and smart without being flashy. Well located being an easy walk into the centre and still with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Car park is small and really tight but there's on street parking.

Great stay, really comfortable rooms, well located to see the city. Restaurant on site with good meals. On check in we were given a lot of useful information on what to see and do, really knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Arriving with no previous Edinburgh experience, we completely enjoyed our stay.
The staff was very helpful. We needed an ADA room with a roll in shower. Quite often these needs are not passed on through the booking agent. We arrived and they were not aware of our need but they managed to put us in a wonderful room for the week.
The location was perfect for us. I love to walk and across the street is the beginning of "The Meadows". What a treat!! The weather couldn't have been better. Families and groups out enjoying the sunshine. The neighborhood had more than enough interesting restaurants and shops. We had many meals there at the hotel but in the course of a week, ventured out a bit. Morningside district is a short walk down the hill and the Grass Market a short walk towards the Royal Mile.
Our stay was wonderful. BUT!!!!! In my haste to pack I left 2 weeks of laundry in bags behind!! I contacted them, they secured them and mailed them to my home address. How much more service can a person expect?
I would go back there in a heart beat and recommend them to anyone.
Mike
I forgot to mention the Bruntsfield Links, part of the Meadows. 17th century golf course, pitch and putt, free to anyone with a ball, wedge and putter.

I booked the Bruntsfield BW at a tough time for me, with my girlfriend having left the country and feeling a bit alone in the city. One of her parting gifts to me was the money for a hotel room with a bathtub, as I have really missed having one in my new flat (which only has a tiny shower). I mentioned this in the comments when booking the hotel and the room I was given was beyond my wildest dreams - I presume they must have upgraded me without saying, as there's no way this was purely a "standard" double. It had a massive bathroom with a huge free-standing tub in the middle. It made my day and I couldn't have been happier. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone, and I'm hopefully going to make this a semi-regular thing now whenever I need a good soak!
R. J.
The room is large, airy, clean, quite nice. Staff are also very nice, professional, accommodating. The hotel is expensive. You must request faceclothes, and these were not changed throughout our 7 day stay. The shower was horrid; it would not retain a temperature and switched from scalding to freezing. The room doors slam shut, which they do each time someone enters or leaves a room. This slamming is heard up and down the hall. Although we were staying 7 nights the price of our room increased 100£ for the Saturday night. 100£! Yes, we knew this when we booked in March for a May staf, but we honestly thought the hotel would revise it when they realized we were staying all 7 nights. When I complained, we were then given 2 bottles of water, some fudge and 2 chocolate wafers. Nice but hardly the point. 100£ is gouging, and as a Best Western member I'm extremely disappointed. It's an ok hotel, but not worth the expense.
A. F.
Excellent hotel. I had a very comfortable two night stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good. Good location for access to the City and local area very good too. Will definitely come again.
K. L. C.
An exceptionally warm welcome and a lovely location. I really enjoyed every aspect of my visit. Great breakfast too in very friendly and pleasant surroundings. I wished I was staying longer.
E.
Lovely hotel in a great part of Edinburgh. Less than 30 mins pleasant stroll and in the centre. The hotel itself is an older building with a lot of charm, but the rooms are modern and we'll equipped. Staff all very friendly and helpful.
E. P.
I have stayed at this hotel on the last two occasions that I have visited Edinburgh and will definitely be back again. Beautiful rooms, friendly helpful staff and a truly exceptional breakfast. You will not be disappointed.

Would highly recommend this hotel, especially the Savour Sunday package. Staff were fabulous, food and service was spot on, value was great and the location is perfect. Looking forward to booking again soon.
P. S.
Great hotel, really nice staff, nothing was to much trouble for them.
Looking forward to going back.

in the middle of renovation but room was lovely and spacious and a great position to walk into the city
L. B.
Great location (for us) between Morningside and the heart of the city. Rooms are varied but we'll equipped, decor good and the staff are pleasant and always eager to help. Breakfast is fantastic!

A beautiful hotel not far from the city center. The room I had was nice and spacious and even though I had windows towards the street it was quiet. The breakfast was nice but nothing special. My only complaint is that the wifi was really spotty and kept disconnecting.
K. M.
Beautiful room. Quiet and clean. Nice view of the park across the street. Great shower and bathroom. Nice area away from tourist crowds. Walking access to all nice restaurants and grocery. Public transportation too. Nice pub inside with breakfast for 10 GBP. Wall outlet has an extra usb for charging. Highly recommended.
F. M.
We stayed at the Bruntsfield Hotel last weekend. Unfortunately one night only! Lovely room, very clean, warm & comfortable. Excellent service, staff very attentive. Very enjoyable dinner and great selection for breakfast. Exceptionally well run hotel. Look forward to a return visit.
D. B.
The hotel was a great location. As I don't drive, I was able to work wherever I wanted to go. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Staff was accommodating calm and friendly and extremely helpful with whatever I needed.
H. B.
Lovely hotel, nice clean room, food not overly expensive, nice helpful staff x
S. R.
Lovely hotel and staff and delicious breakfast. 25 minute walk to Princess Street. Taxis take just as long with all the traffic lights and road works meaning taxi prices can vary between £8 and £12
P. S.
Nice hotel . Staff very friendly
L. F.
Loved the stay, but the bathroom was disgusting. The bathmat was covered in dirt and the shower was broken.
S. F.
Great place. Convenient for the old town. Five stars for the breakfast and kitchen staff who valiantly turned out a five star breakfast at short notice for 14 people. Well done. Highly recommend this hotel.
o. s.
It was a great though a little outdated hotel with a huge emphasis on genuine and authentic hospitality and friendliness. Much better than all those thoroughly trained receptionists etc.
L. T.
I often choose best western hotels for travelling. This one confirms my positive impressions, although the best one I've ever been remains BW kaiserhof Wien. Bruntsfield features a nice view on meadows park, a silent area, but only 15' far from the city centre walking. It's a typical Scottish building; standard rooms are quite old but clean. I would say the hotel's forte is breakfast: beside a nice buffet it is possible to order excellent express dishes from the restaurant. As more, you can spot frequently critters in the hotel's garden! Personnel is professional and nice.
g. l. g.
Lovely hotel, clean and spacious rooms, great location for town with free parking.
All staff lovely and helpful
Reception offer map and directions
would highly recommend cant wait to return
Only problem was room too hot (but is that a problem ?)
S. R.
Very nice hotel. Staff were very good. The location of the hotel was excellent, it is in a nice area and near enough to walk in to the city.
Parking was a little challenging, but possible.
J. B.
Using the meeting room, good services and an adequate lunch provision. Room was difficult to get to a reasonable temperature, but at least there was air conditioning, it would have been unbearable without. Even on a mildly warm day.
T. 5. Z.
Stayed here on a business trip and it was very nice. Wonderful staff and walking distance to the royal mile and the Castle. Also it is across the street from the park where Golf was invented. It is a must stay if you can.
R. W.
Wonderful Hotel in Edinburgh, filled with amazingly warm friendly but professional staff that care about your visit. Superb fresh breakfasts, and at dinner I would tell you to give the haggis bon bons a try as they are delicious. The hotel is beautifully serviced and maintained and rooms very comfortable. I will stay again in future and would recommend to all that The Bruntsford do an amazing job of making you feel comfortable and valued.
H. B.
Love it
Friendly staff
Bed is comfy.
Didn't try breakfast
L. K.
This is a great hotel with good staff and a good restaurant/breakfast eatery. We were able to walk through parks to all the major attractions in town - even home from a concert that finished at 10.30pm, thanks to the late summer twilight.
C. M.
Great, friendly, spotlessly clean, and very central hotel, breakfast and dinner menus were very good, as was the food, would use this hotel in the future
J. P.
Stayed for 3 nights at Best Western, Bruntsfield, Edinburgh, this last weekend. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel. Very comfortable, warm and clean, with friendly staff and delicious food.
R. T.
Small hotel, clean but quite old with vintage furniture and the floor squeaky and small bathroom. Even on the website they say free parking, parking is available just for a limited number of cars so you will need to find parking on the street and weak up at 8.00 am in order not to get a fine.
A. T.
Lovely hotel. Excellent meals. But the ground floor bedroom was very noisy even at night, due to being next to a staff door. If I return I will definitely request a room located off ground floor.
C. W.
Great accommodations at the bruntsfield best Western. Don't let the name fool you, this is nothing like a best Western that Americans are used to. This location is beautiful and clean and comfortable, great value as well. Parking is a little tight in the front lot, though there is additional parking around the facility. I would suggest finding breakfast somewhere nearby in Edinburgh as well. Bathrooms are fully equipped and rooms are large in comparison to many hotel and B&Bs elsewhere in Scotland. Touristy areas are a half hour walk or short drive away, Uber rides to and from will only cost you a few pounds.
A. M.
Second time we've stayed here now. Rooms very clean, friendly staff and as good a breakfast as you'll get.
On the down side I did find the bar expensive. If the prices were cheaper we'd have happily stayed there rather than head into town
O. B.
Really nice hotel, good price, not far from the centre.
K. D.
Great hotel, luxurious room with good breakfast. Our room location wasn't so great, down a flight of stairs. And the road was a little noisy in the early morning.
L.
The hotel was delightful, the rooms clean. My only complaint would be parking, they advertise limited parking. Limited equals approximately ten spots. I would definitely stay again though.
O. E.
A good hotel overall but hugely let down by building work going on when we were there. This would have been fine if not for loud drilling and hammering at 8:30 in the morning. This only lasted for a couple of hours so perhaps this work could have been left until later
L. R.
Beautiful hotel, we loved our stay and breakfast, stunning.
D. S.
Excellent hotel really friendly and was really comfortable.
H. W.
I attended a memorial service to a friend at Bruntsfield hotel. All was comfortable well looked after + efficient. We had lunch afterwards which was fresh + plentiful, lovely homemade scones.
S.
The worst expensive Casar salad ever. Glop of fine cut head lettuce mixed with a coleslaw level of dressing. Toss on 5 croutons from a box. Mix in halved anchovies and a edible piece of bacon and small boiled chicken pieces. Only because I was hungery did I gag it down. Still gaging just thinking about it. the next day thinking about it. Morning Coffee in the lobby was full of grinds. I recommend heavy drinking befor eating, no fine whiskeys stocked. Rooms were fine. As a whole it’s a squeezed service built for tour bus groups with a 9£ Plus preset budget menu with disinterested staff.
A. S.
This hotel is excellently situated, with lovely spacious rooms and parking on site. The staff have been very friendly, and our stay has been very pleasant.
D. T.
On all of my visitis to Edinburgh, I have stayed at the Bruntsfield, because I feel comfortable there, and I see no reason to change. Handy for buses into town or out to the hills, and a fair selection of shops nearby. The walk across the Links and Meadows to George IV Bridge is delightful ( often work in the National Library).
C. g.
Excellent breakfast. Staff on the whole really nice and friendly apart from the night gentleman who didn't even look up when we came back in at 11ish
L. P.
Nice hotel in a good location. The staff are attentive, food is nice but expensive.
Little beer garden outside is lovely on a sunny day.
A. g.
Nice location, about 0.7 mile from the castle.
Hotel is clean, nice large room , very comfortable beds.
Breakfast fantastic.
I will recommend this place very highly.
A. H.
Great hotel in a perfect location in the heart of Bruntsfield close to Edinburgh centre. We could not have asked for a better place to stay nor had a better experience. I highly recommend the Best Western Bruntsfield.
D. G.
Quality rooms. 1st class breakfasts. Super staff. Quiet part of town but close to everything you really want to see in Edinburgh.
A. L.
Fine hotel. Good service. Rooms at the front can be noisy with busy road outside. Fortunately we moved rooms and everything was fine.
A. S.
If you are staying in Edinburgh, try and book here first. Easy for getting into town and a nice view over to the Meadows. This is by far my favourite hotel in Edinburgh.
H.
Room was great, staff very helpful, plenty of options at breakfast only complaint is they advertised vegetarian sausages but throughout the stay they had none. Wold use this hotel again.
C. W.
Great hotel. But very dissapointed with breakfast, over priced for what you get, bacon was all fat and portion was very small. Didnt eat there again.
J. D.
Had our wedding reception in the Cardoon Suite, and had a great night. Lovely function room, nice bedroom with four poster bed, and the staff were really great.
B. W.
Excellent accommodation, very friendly and helpful staff. Good area and parking available, though slightly tight. Would thoroughly recommend.
c. b.
Friendly staff with clean rooms and comfortable beds and most importantly a short enough walk to the city centre. Only criticism is the food was fairly average.
R. S.
The front of house staff are always welcoming and friendly, and make sure you get the best service as possible. The rooms are clean and have a very homely feel
Z. O.
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel.
The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful and professional.
Would definitely stay here again.
J. T.
Terrific value for money in the heart of Edinburgh. Spotless and freshly decorated. Fabulously comfortable bed and staff could not be more helpful. Will be back for sure.
K. M.
Great value hotel, amazing breakfast and helpful staff... classic decor, so doesnt look like a clone hotel (although some thinks could do with a little modernisation (would recommend)
D. c.
Well presented and clean hotel. Professional and polite staff. Rooms could be modernised and would benefit from better sound proofing.
d. f.
A great place to stay, quiet setting, no road noise or noise from st. Lovely walk through Bruntsfield links to Greyfriar
Staff are very friendly and accomadating, will stay here again.
L. L.
Not the cheapest, but a lovely setting overlooking the Links. Rooms excellent and spotless. Bar/restaurant very good and Dougie especially is so friendly.
L. T.
Really nice hotel, reasonably priced. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Definitely stay again.
M. T.
Nice place, friendly staff. Some parts maybe a little too cosy. We were at a wedding reception and it was hard to get past tables or to the toilets as tables were squished in.
Y. P.
They gave me alcohol promptly when I asked for it... and really, that's all I want in life.
Needs = met.
J. C.
Perfect, lovely room, excellent staff, great stay
A. F.
Great hotel, just on the fringe of the city with a cool neighbourhood vibe.
W. m.
Lovely hotel with view over Bruntsfield Links. Great breakfasts, well presented rooms and helpful staff. Car Park available.
N. L.
A little more expensive than I normally pay but a nice hotel with good location for my needs, would stay again.

L. O.
Superb from start to finish, staff were very friendly and the hotel was excellent, will definitely stay again in the future.
J. R. (.
Great food and friendly, attentive staff. Shame that the bar/restaurant is now a generic hotel affair with the charm of the former King's bar long gone.
D. K.

M. W.
Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Emaculate rooms and fantastic food. Restaurant highly recommended.

A large park to walk in front of the door. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
The range of restaurants nearby is really great. It only takes 10-20 minutes to get into town.
I can really recommend the bar.

(Translated) A 5-minute walk from the center and facing a beautiful park, this hotel is of superior standing. The rooms are comfortable, clean and the bedding very good. In addition, we have a small parking to park and given the price of parking in Edimbourgh, it's a real luxury ... I recommend

(Translated) Our favorite hotel in Edinburgh.
It is located in the heart of the city, about 1.5 km from the Royal Mile.
The Victorian style house is located just off the A702 and is easily accessible from the City Bypass - just always straight. The house is a bit winding, which one has to get used to. The rooms are big, very comfortable and clean. The service is accommodating and friendly.
The breakfast is plentiful, you can help yourself at the buffet or eat a la carte.
The evening kitchen is excellent, reservation is essential.
The bar is well stocked.
Always happy again.

Unser Lieblingshotel in Edinburgh.
Immer wieder gerne wieder.

(Translated) Great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. 20 minutes' walk from Haymarket station. It is a 20-minute walk from the hotel to the city center (30 minutes to Edinburgh Waverley). There is also an inexpensive supermarket (Tesco) near the hotel.
The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful during my stay! The check-in was quick and smooth. At the checkout (at 4 a.m.) a packed lunch was even quickly prepared for me (GREAT!).
The single room booked had a large, comfortable bed. With the window closed it was pleasantly quiet. The cleanliness was perfect!
The breakfast is very extensive and offers besides crossaint, toast, rolls, various cold cuts and warm dishes that are prepared in the kitchen. There is also fruit, muesli, yoghurt, various juices and coffee + tea.
A great hotel with a beautiful location!

(Translated) Already a bit older hotel which certainly radiates a certain charm of nostalgia. The rooms were clean, and the staff friendly. In our case, the rooms were cleaned only in the late afternoon which in and of itself is not a problem but definitely must be who you want to get ready before the evening exit.
