Just back from an overnight stay at this hotel and I have to say it was a fantastic experience. Firstly we stayed on a B,B&B deal which was exceptional value for money. We paid a little bit extra for a superior room and this was well worth the upgrade. The room was massive, loads of space but extremely cosy and comfortable. Great view of the beautiful Christmas tree on the village green opposite. Walk-in shower was a great bonus for someone like me with limited mobility.
Bed was really comfortable ensuring a great night's sleep.
Dinner in the evening was fantastic, three courses with plenty of choice. Food was fabulous, every course a winner with the Cullen Skink starter highly recommended. In the morning, breakfast was also first class with plenty available. Once again a great feed !
Finally I have to mention all the staff, everyone extremely friendly and helpful and a special mention to Fiona who was our server at breakfast. Lovely person who was really cheery and helpful and provided a great service with a smile.
Overall, a brilliant stay and very highly recommended !

I stayed here for a business trip and will certainly be back. The hotel was lovely, cosy and clean. The food in the restaurant was outstanding! The staff were fabulous ... I sadly got a flat tyre overnight and had to wait on roadside recovery after checkout; the food and beverage manager (Adrian) was so kind and welcoming during my 2 hour wait and even provided me with a much needed tea for free. Thank you again and I look forward to returning!

I’ve just finished photographing a wedding here today and wanted to share how awesome the experience of working with the team was. So friendly and helpful, with Carolyn giving me a guided tour in the morning and Paul providing the bride with a ma to stand on to protect her shoes from the elements during portraits. If you’re a wedding photographer, you’ll be glad to know the kitchen stays open during the wedding meal, and I was able to order a snack of chilli and Parmesan chips & a raspberry and rose trifle which was divine. An absolute pleasure to spend time here.

We recently had a family gathering at The Eglinton Arms Hotel and what a disappointment it was ! The tables were sparsely set out to begin with. When we asked for water, we were given a large pitcher of tap water which was rank, with two ice cubes in it. We asked for it to be changed and we were given bottled water which I discovered later that it cost me £4.50 ! I had the Haddock and chips, while the meal was all right 7/10, I did not like that they had placed the fish on top of a pile of chips, making them very soggy. One of our group had the macaroni and cheese and it was very watery. The onion rings were not nice as they were very greasy. We were served up our sweet but there were no utensils on the table ! The service was also very slow at the beginning and also from main course to sweet. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to pass on all these comments to the serving staff but I did say that we were not very happy with the service ! Also beware if you wash your hands in the gents as the water comes over the front of the WHB and it will soak you ! Will I be back ? Definitely not !

I went for lunch which was well presented and tasty however there was very little choice on the lunch menu, just a few choices of sandwiches. You could choose from main meals too but not what I was wanting for lunch. There was a wedding at the hotel that day so that may be the reason

Wonderful overnight stay. Room was cosy with a masculine feel of dark wood, leather but tasteful. Offered room service. Only fault was shower. Albeit powerful, it pulsed hot & cold. Attended for a wedding, beautiful setting below the main building, steep stairs could be a concern for heeled guests.
Wedding meal was very tasty & plentiful. Alcohol flowing, service was friendly & efficient. Breakfast had hot/cold option & catered for all dietries. Couldve had a few more members of staff on as became busy & poor chap was a tad overworked at times, but had a pleasant courteous manner at all time, derek i believe his name was. Check in/out was swift.
Would recommend 👌

Nice staff.
Location is poor due to transport ....no buses after 11pm. Poor taxi service as out of normal routes.
Not used rooms as only used as a works night out.

The staff are all so welcoming at the eglington arms and can't do enough for you..the open fire at reception always a plus too..🔥
.on arriving the check-in is very quick and the team are very accommodating if you need anything..my husband and I stayed at the Eglington arms on Saturday the 19th to Monday 21st November .we have stayed many times at this hotel and have booked to come again early January .the hotel is spotless thanks to the housekeeping team who do a fantastic job👏🏽👏🏽 ..would like to thank Shirley and Amanda for making sure we had everything we needed and hospitality tray always very well replenished...and they are always so cheery and smiling..the breakfast team are also fab and so welcoming ..breakfast is amazing and plentiful.poached eggs are the best ..hats off to chef ...obviously all the staff at this hotel have different roles but they all gel so well and make this hotel run beautifully ...which is why we return again and again).we also always pop into the orry bar (which is round the corner but still joined onto the hotel)where staff are equally welcoming and friendly.( bar is animal friendly too ..🐾)
This hotel is a wee hidden gem in eaglesham and definitely worth a visit ....⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
