Absolutely amazing food as well as the service. Loved everything I ordered and truly enjoyed being there. Yet, something wasn't right as I am now up all night with food poison from the food there. Saying that, if you are the lucky one with a strong stomach then I fully recommend this place. One of the best places with food in the area

First visit...and not disappointed! Late lunch and 2 course menu well priced and good choice of dishes. Lovely atmosphere, great food and delightful service from Tosin. Would recommend and would certainly visit again.

This was the 1st time we had been to Winstanley House.
A little emotional as it was my Fathers old school and used to walk around the Rose Gardens when I was a child.
I must say Winstanley House was amazing .
The staff from Reception / Bar to the Black Iron Restaurant were excellent.
I would like to thank Jacob for his excellent manner and service .
We will be back 👍

Truely Excellent. A hidden gem situated in Braunstone Park. The decor and cleanliness is five star. The bar and restaurant provide a romantic setting for excusit locally sourced dining. The rooms have pleasant views across the park especially from the top floor. Looking forward to visiting again. There is a disability lift to the restaurant and bar but not to the upper floors.

The best steak iv ever had only readon for 4 stars is they didnt accommodate my request for 2 fried eggs which i was happy to pay for. Shame really because it is an amazing place

10/10 - Attended a Family Wedding held on a Friday (which had to be previously postponed due to Covid). The staff were very polite, attentive & professional. The wedding breakfast tasted fantastic & was beautifully presented as was the evening buffet. The room looked beautiful, as did the table. A very enjoyable & happy day for all, old & young, many thanks to all involved.

Excellent service and amazing food. Winstanley House is a beautiful location and is a must for any steak fan! This is a real hidden gem in Leicester. Tosin, thanks so much for being a brilliant host

Honestly, I could not say enough positive comments about this incredible hotel. 10/10 for EVERYTHING!!! The room was huge, comfortable, luxurious & spotlessly clean. The guy on reception was a delight (I wish I got his name).
The grounds are beautiful & Braunstone park is a fabulous place for an after breakfast walk. Talking of breakfast, just look at the photos! So tasty & huge! And a lovely selection of pastries & cereal too.
The grounds at the back are stunning with a beautiful old tree & swing.
It cost less than £10 for an Uber into town too.
Thankyou & see you very soon XXX ♥️😀

IT was a good decision to hire Winstanley Venue for our daughter, amazing staff excellent service. GEORGIA Co ordinator was excellent at her job. We had the wedding and reception there and i can not fault anything. Thankyou to everyone who made it possible to remember those 2 days.

Excellent in each n every thing yesterday my son s wedding held there hospitality staff food and all the fecelity was excellent

Nice historic building with some bare brick detail, staff were very disorganised and had no idea about drinks...no slice of lemon or cucumber for the gin and tonic, no pouilly fuisse or chablis despite it being on the menu. In the end after speaking to the manager, a slice of lemon, and the pouilly fuisse and chablis turned up!

Great venue, yet to have a meal but meetings held there have been amazing

Brilliant night at works party, the place is beautiful, amazing transformation of the old run down Braunstone Hall.

Small bedroom (not shown on the brochure), tired but nice character with high ceiling and shutters. Very noisy with anyone in the corridor sounding like they're in the room with you, comfy bed though!
Breakfast seemed like an after thought, with stale toast and what must have been the previous night's mushrooms as they were dry, leathery and salty... the worst I've ever had.
The evening meal in the steakhouse tasted nice, but the £38, 500g (17.6oz) steak I ordered, was smaller than my partners 8oz steak, they even sliced it to make it seem bigger, then charged more for it than stated in the menu. The staff were good but seemed stressed out.
Another table in there was extremely loud (dragging tables and chairs around, drunken singing, loud swearing etc for the entire time they were there) disturbing most other tables around yet nothing was done about it. Certainly not the 'pay decent money, get dressed up' experience it was made out to be. I left there feeling it was well overpriced and more like a wetherspoons on a Saturday night.

Lovely place to stay. Highly recommended
d. A.
Lovely steak however for the price the menu was quite limited and they were not willing to change anything to suit the customer
A. H.
Great service, it was a surprise belatedly birthday party for me, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone, and I would go back any time

Lovely venue for a wedding.Nice surroundings shame we had bad weather.

So I am currently still at Winstanley for my sisters wedding and I have got to say Izzy on front desk has been nothing less than awesome. Running around after every little thing that was asked for and then not huffing and puffing about it. What an absolute trooper and a great worker you have. An absolute for any front of house staff to have a wonderful smile and knack for problem solving! Great work Izzy!
Not to mention Badge/Baz, Sophie and Beth nothing was too much trouble for them and all our guests had a wonderful time and my sister had the best wedding and reception anyone could deserve. Thank you guys for everything.
Do not hesitate to book your wedding/reception here, they WILL look after you. 😊
Ps Izzy, tell your manager that he/she has an asset in you and if they are not careful a rival business will pinch you! Hint hint!

Great place, a hidden wonder,
Friendly staff, very helpful.
Can't wait to return

Brilliant and stunning building. Nice outside area. But the food was very expensive relatively to other places. Food seemed to lack accompanying veg!
Pleasant staff also
P. G.
The room was lovely and felt like a real bedroom as opposed to a hotel room. The staff were very friendly and helpful; we felt really valued as guests. The location was beautiful and great for pictures or a nice walk. We had no problems with noises whatsoever. I would definitely recommend staying here and would love to return myself!

Excellent Versatile venue for Weddings, parties and family events. Choice of 3 function rooms available for 380+ guest capacity to intimate functions, two of the function rooms over look the private gardens with beautiful views.
Has the options of beautiful boutique bedrooms, with ample space for carparking on site.
In-house catering team offer traditional and Asian cuisine definately one to try as there is something for everyone.
Great well mannered staff throughout and a positive atmosphere throughout.
Nice to see a historic building put to good use while maintaining the building history throughout the architecture and photographs which can be viewed in the resturant and bar area.
U. H.
Beautiful location, set back from main road so may find it hard to find to begin with. Just keep driving to the end of the lane.
J. B.
Excellent meal great Xmas venue fantastic decorations thankyou
S. M.
I really enjoyed my experience at Winstanley, the building was beautiful with comfy chairs and enough table space for all of the food. They have done a great job to be socially distanced.
The food was delicious we had steak which was cooked to perfection. It was really reasonably priced considering what we got.
And the wait staff were supurb very friendly and happy to help. They kept us up to date with our order even to the point where they thought they were taking to long so they came and explained why. We didn't feel like they took to long but it was nice to know they were on top of everything. We will definitely go back.

Picking Winstanley House turned out to be one of the best decisions we have ever made. Beth, Baj and the team were amazing in the planning stage as well as on the day making the special day truly special for us. The food by Rishi’s team was also excellent and thoroughly loved by every one of our guests. He even managed to cater to a very strict diet producing excellent dishes for all to enjoy! Would highly recommend Winstanley House as a wedding venue!

Just beenfor a lovely birthday meal food was excellent, staff very polite and helpful, friendly, nothing was to much trouble. Beautiful surroundings. Will definitely be back soon.

Most beautiful place need to be seen 😍
Marvelous wedding day ✨
J. L.
Great place, lovely venue, food was amazing, could do with more variety for vegetarians but great around.
L. L.
Lovely food and beautiful venue. Garden is lovely to sit in and have a drink. Feel like you are in the middle of the countryside not middle of Braunstone! We went for Christmas Day 2019 and it was utterly fabulous.
J. B.
Booked for lunch today, knew it wasn't Sunday lunch, but checked menu out, quite nice.
We could only have 12 pm booking, that's ok, no breakfast for us.
Starters, onion bargi, black pud fritter, cheese fritter, some thing like that.
Fish of day, steak, something else, veggies.
So basic, seagrass with thin chips with green leaves, same with steak.
They had a wedding, so obs concentrating on that, so they should. They shouldn't have opened the restaurant for 12 pm only to serve basic, really basic food.
Staff brill, but truly disappointed as been before. Wont be back. Shame.
A. G.
Incredible garden for food and drinks. We had drinks only this time which were very good. Not many better places to sit in the sun. Proper Oasis.
C. D.
Fabulous food, luxurious rooms and welcoming staff. Special thanks to Josh who went the extra mile with excellent customer service.
j. s.
Great atmosphere great food in a beautiful place.
R. S.
Disappointed with outdoor wedding. No mic for the service nobody could hear anything! Not as posh as expected after looking at their website.
S. W.
Beautiful hotel
Room was Beautifully presented, hotel staff were helpful and breakfast was great
Only compliant is you might need to check to bed in room 121 as the righthand side of the bed seemed to have a bit of a dip
M. R.
Firstly can I just say a massive thank you to all the staff , fantastic attitude nothing was to much trouble food was out this world and really really amazing value for money

Great wedding venue and superb food ❤️

This was a pleasant suprise, never knew it existed. Driving their you would never expect it but persist and prepare to be surprised.
Once inside this mansion/stately home has some snazzy architecture and some wonderful staff.
The day we visited that had a lovely wedding I'm swing, full tea service and we never felt rushed or without service once.
Afternoon tea:
The scones where spot on, fresh and tasty. Perfect with the "BACON JAM" (no serious it's brilliant, we smuggled some home in a tiny jam jar).
Sandwiches range was nice, fresh, salmon cream cheese could have been better but I'm not a chive man
The rang of cakes/sweats were really nice, a good range. One I wasn't the biggest fan of but when compared to a brownie topped with cream a walnut and sea salt... Wow¡ Hard to compete. it's something.
Oh and champagne that complimented the whole experience very well.
Fair to say the staff know their stuff, and we had a wonderful day.
T. A.
Brilliant venue and beautiful location. Great service. The restaurant is absolutely top notch.

A very nice function hall for a wedding. I must say that the staff were very friendly as well which were polite as well 👍🏼👍🏼
G. M.
The hotel is a fantastic experience from the moment you check in. The staff are amazingly friendly and attentive and coming from someone who travels internationally a lot on business, it all is genuine and they are some of the loveliest and friendliest people I have come across. The only failing is that the options for vegetarians/vegans are VERY poor. Carnivors are going to have a fantastic time, great menu, but when the best option on the menu looks like a spring roll that has been blown up..... no! Just no.
M. M.
Fantastic afternoon tea bought as a special birthday present, definitely didn't disappoint.
M. V.
Its ok, however not any hand sanitisation stations in the main hall where I was at a wedding.
J. K.
Attended The Black Iron restaurant with my wife which we accessed through the hotels reception. Reception staff very friendly, greeted us and showed us the way to the restaurant. Staff in restaurant very friendly but only negative is that all should be in uniform (please no denim? ) excellent menu, delicious food and one of the best steaks I've had the pleasure of eating it was succulent, flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Extensive drinks menu to suit all budgets. Will certainly visit again and thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening.
M. M.
What a great place for lunch. Our party of 6 had a great meal in lovely surroundings, sitting outside afterwards with coffee. The Latvian waitress with impeccable English was charm personified and the bar manager was friendly and warm.
Will definitely visit again.
A.
Super lovely food and a great atmosphere; came here for with a friend and ordered from the lunch menu. There was a great variety of dishes and the backdrop of the house is really beautiful; you absolutely wouldn’t know where you are in the city once entering. Will definitely look to return!

Place is absolutely beautiful!! Didn't interact with many staff, but they were very pleasant nonetheless. Bed was super comfy. The room very large. My partner and I will be back here at some point. I've heard there's a bigger, more comfortable bed hidden away here, I need to find it!!
S. P.
There's so much for the young and old alike to enjoy. The walking, polite people to give you information on the area and it's beautiful spots. The kids have a big enclosed safe area to burn their energy. And also somewhere to have your lovely cuppa a drink for the kids or a snack. And dinner.

Made a reservation at this place off the cuff, never have I been more impressed! went on a Tuesday evening for my partners birthday, had A.M.A.Z.I.N.G Food, cooked to perfection, drinks in the garden before hand, bar tender clearly loves his job and was very informative. waitress was so lovely, local girl just down the road, down to earth and very caring. totally go back there again, special occasion made even more special.
side note- Side portions are a good size, garlic butter mushrooms to die for, creamy spinach amaze and fillet 💋 do it!
M. H.
Absolutely fabulous. Incredibly helpful staff. Lovely room. Plenty of parking. Most importantly though, the food has been excellent - best steak I've had in a very long time. A real gem. Will be my Leicester hotel of choice.
K. G.
The hotel is beautiful, you sink into the beds for starters, and the rooms are superb throughout. The food is outstanding, but what really makes this place is the fantastic customer service. The staff have gone out of their way to ensure my stay has been great, and it has been. The only thing that could improve the hotel would be a spa!
J. H.
Lovely place ,meal and staff .just let down by the size of the pudding .excepted more than 2 teaspoons at the price ! Steak spot on
J. P.
Fabulous place. Booked last minute to stay the next day. Opted for the deluxe double room - was a great size for the 2 of us. Will try the king room on our next visit. Staff all very welcoming apart from one of the receptionists. We sat outside till 2 am as the weather was glorious. Breakfast was great - I couldn't eat it all.
R. M.
The location was a little odd, I felt like I was driving through bandit country in order to get there. But the food and service was exquisite and in my view Michelin standard. From what I saw of the rest of the hotel, it seemed beautifully designed and well maintained. A wonderful experience
J.
Recieved excellent service today from Winstanley House, 9 of us visited for Sunday lunch and the food was perfect, we would like to say a special thanks to Vanessa, who was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. She made sure we were very well catered for.
D. H.
The only thing I would change about this place is that they would have opened sooner!! Beautiful setting and the finish inside is of the highest quality, it really blends the history of the building with modernity to perfection. The drinks list is what you would expect to find in any high class cocktail
Lounge with its own twist and the food; I don’t think words can do it justice; just incredible. I’m summation; a great place, wonderfully restored with impeccable staff to back it all
Up. Highly reccomended.

Beautiful place for weddings. Gorgeous surrounding
H. S.
Unexpected location! Gorgeous surroundings. Only criticism would be how slow the service was at dinner, especially as the purpose of our stay was to relax and get an early night to break up a long drive! However this was compensated for the next morning. Food itself was lovely, and everyone was very friendly.
s. n.
Here for a wedding, great location with very helpful staff, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding location. Honestly the staff were very friendly and nothing was to much for them. Or at least it was good until I figured out how much each drink was costing.
J. H.
We have just visited Winstanley House for our 5th wedding anniversary meal and it was fantastic.
The service, food and atmosphere was great. We were so impressed with everything about the visit that upon leaving we booked a table for a months time when a friend comes to visit.
To think this is located were it is, once you get into the grounds and the hotel itself you feel like you are somewhere hidden in the countryside not in the middle of a town.
We are also looking forward to have a night away from home here so will see what the rooms are like and the breakfast so another review is on the cards.
Only a ten minute drive away from home it felt like we had been somewhere much further away.
Well done on this amazing place we will be telling everyone who will listen to come and visit.

Nice, place to relax, its on a park in braunstone leicester, they do food and take away indian currys, have to order it by phone.

Beautiful build with amazing service

Beautiful venue, fantastic food and lovely service.
Thoroughly looking forward to having our wedding here later this year, particularly given the amazing contact and service by Amy during the planning period since we first met her and the team a year ago.

I have been wanting to go to the Winstanley house for a long time as it was my junior school. The grounds look amazing! When entering the staff were so friendly and offered to show us around.
It has such a lovely feeling about it. Seeing my old class rooms was amazing! It brought back so many memories. I am looking forward to booking a room their and having longer to look around.
T. H.
This venue is a hidden gem...it oozes class and quality!!!!
The entrance is welcoming and the decor is modern and bright.
I bought a colleague here this evening for drinks and a meal...it was excellent. The presentation of both the drinks and food was great.
Staff were polite..attentive and when I asked the staff(male)who was on duty about the history...my goodness he knew his stuff going back to 17th century!wow...I was impressed!
I would like to see the venue invite music through its doors...breath jazz in to its walls and bring soul from the depths of the cellars!
Thanks very much!!!for blessing Leicester with this beautiful place!

Staff are incredibly welcoming, attentive and professional. Food is amazing. I come here regularly to meet my clients and always get great value and great service.

Went to restaurant 13th Jan at 7.30pm was told that they didn't have a record of our reservation. Was then told that they were not sure whether the reservation was for morning 7.30 am or 7.30 pm.After much protest they found the reservation and told us to wait in the bar until a table was ready. When we were finally seated at table we had to wait for a very long time to even give our drinks order.I know they were very busy, but staff seemed overwhelmed with it all.Service was not very good food when it did arrive however was excellent cannot fault that. But whilst they've got the big things right the decor was fantastic the food great. They need to get the small things right.Staff need proper training in how to serve food, nearly got my head burnt by a plate of hot food by waitress serving our table, some staff had uniform not pressed and some with uniform far too tight.Staff being told off in front of me very unprofessional. We paid nearly £80 for a meal for two which was my 8 year anniversary ,so not felt we got the service you would expect from such a venue. In truth until this place improves will not be returning.A shame really because the venue itself is truly magnificent. A lot of resources have clearly been spent on it.s conception only to be undone by poor service.
M. N.
Winstanley House is located on Braunstone Park, a beautiful refurbished building. We went as a large group and were amazed by the service we received by the staff. Brilliant food all with the fancy / posh feel and taste. What was really nice about our visit to Winstanley House was that when you entered the building you no longer felt that you were on the park, but in a very grand building. Very impressed.
S. B.
Love the modern meets Victorian style/ decor
F. W.
Service was great. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We had the private dining room to ourselves and the kids loved it. Bottomless brunch is a definite yes!
V. C.
What a lovely treat. Got treated to lunch by my children for mother's day on the Saturday and it was lovely. The surroundings were perfect as was the deco. All the sraff were very attentive and "service with a smile"
We ate from the set menu, i had corn fed chicken, my daughter had rib eye steak and my son had the crisp belly pork and we all thought our meals were delicious. I had the black iron special triffle and it was beautiful. All in all a wonderful experience was had by all of us. The owners have transformed the place while keeping the history of the building alive also.
Excellent. You all deserve a massive pat on the back. Well done and keep up the good work.
N. J.
Fabulous afternoon tea, excellent food, lovely surroundings and great staff.

Very nice location
Good sized, well maintained rooms and excellent breakfast.
Previous visit to a "Presentation Event" and found the facilities excellent then as well.
My two Australian sisters stayed there on a previous visit and were impressed

We came for lunch on a Monday.
Absolutely delicious the food - even our Toddler enjoyed! No kids menu though... lovely place and relaxing when you get lucky with beautiful weather 👌
N. B.
Fabulous location and friendly service. Only had afternoon tea and it was good. A small gripe that prevented 5 stars was scones were overcooked - which was a shame. Staff couldn't do enough to help and beautifully maintained restaurant and hotel.
E. T.
Very Impressive. Wonderful refurb and extension of this Georgian House. Lovely dining rooms and the bar has a nice feel. Food tasty and well cooked. Great steaks and even the sticky toffee pudding was top notch. Service very friendly and willing but some additional training needed in certain areas. This is one of Leicestershire's best in all seriousness most definitely worth a visit.
L. W.
We went for a birthday Sunday lunch today. We had the sharing platters. Oh just lovely. Pork beef and lamb all melt in the mouth. Delicious and desserts to die for. Roll on next time
I. H.
Great to see another one of Leicester's historic sites brought back to life, Naresh and his team have certainly done a great job of bringing this magnificent Hall back to life.
We didn't stay in any of the rooms but booked a table for Sunday lunch. The reception area gives you a hint at what is to come - stylish and contemporary interior design blended into the traditional rooms of this former country house.
However, as with many other establishments, it's the attention to detail that can often make or break the occasion and unfortunately, Winstanley House was no exception. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown to our table and asked if we would like any water for the table and then left to allow us time to look at the menu. ( it really irritates me when serving staff ask if you'd like to order drinks or food the moment you sit down!) So, this is how things panned out:
Two glasses of wine (that we hadn't ordered) arrived. "Sorry, not ours" and sent them back.
Starters ( that we hadn't ordered) arrived. "Sorry, not ours" and sent them back. It seems that a couple that were seated at our table had changed tables but this had not been updated to the staff.
Our own starters - excellent, the mushrooms on toast were really tasty as was the smoked salmon.
Mains: steak was perfect! So tender it pretty much melts in the mouth. Unfortunately, the accompanying veg was not to the same standard. The roast parsnips were quite small and thus the ends curled up which meant there was very little of them you could actually eat, which left me with the impression that they were there more for decorative effect rather than to add anything to the meal. Brussel sprouts were over-cooked. I was surprised that there was not any roast chicken or turkey on the menu as these are very popular mains for a Sunday lunch.
The dessert menu - which arrived grease-stained and really should not have been presented- was limited as it only had three options (four if you count the cheese board):
Dark chocolate brownie, Apple crumble to share and Eton mess. Nothing exactly memorable or ground-breaking here.
The bill was brought to us on a heavily stained plate that still had someone's completed review card on it. These issues were addressed by a reduction in our bill which was a very kind and generous gesture.
Overall, the staff were attentive and helpful and I feel sure that with some tweaking here and there, an improvement will be noticeable.

Beautiful grounds, friendly and helpful staff. The Black Iron restaurant is fantastic as well. Overall, excellent value for money.

Since opening, I've hosted two seminars (roughly 100 guests) at the magnificent Winstanley House, Leicester and look forward to hosting many more.
The staff are attentive, there is ample free parking, the venue & grounds are nothing less than exquisite - not to mention the hotel! A wonderful addition to #Leicester.

I've been twice in 2 weeks, lovely food, great beer on draught, friendly staff and beautiful setting. I plan to go back next week!

Wonderful food at the Black Iron steakhouse. The lamb and the fillet steak were perfect. The best steak we've eaten and service was impeccable. Congratulations on a great start. David
E. J. C.
Nice, staff were helpful but not interfering, food was above average,. Bear in mind I've never eaten anywhere I consider better than good except homemade. Not necessarily my home lol.

Been to the restaurant twice now. The service and food were exceptional. We had the chateaubriand steak and this I must say was one of the best meals I have had for a long time. Highly recommend.

Driving through Braustone Park (over the speed bumps!) You suddenly come around the corner to be confronted with a beautifully refurbished Georgian Mansion that takes your breath away. Two buildings have been connected by an elegant glass entrance. Fabulous Art Deco cocktail bar (must not be missed!)Their own 'Black Iron ' beer another must! Staff could not have been friendlier. Food fantastic (remember to order sides....)ambience, decor, entire building inside and out complete with 500 yr old tree a total delight. I'm a fan, couldn't recommend it highly enough.
A. J.
Very friendly staff and quick service. Food was also really tasty.
C. W.
Amazing what they have done to this place. Forward it was a complete eye sore. Derelict. Used to think it was such a waste sitting away doing nothing. Now thou, wow. Gorgeous and posh. Converted into a conference banquet or anything like that place. Functions, weddings ECT. And also has rooms ie hotel. I had a look around the place and you can see straight away they have spent a lot of money on the place. It's so bright and posh. I would definitely consider having my wedding reception here. And the surrounding area is beautiful park land and open space. Even a lake. Would make a great place to take your pictures.
P. L.
Had the tomohawk steak and a bottle of malbec on a sunday evening great food great service iam impressed
S. A.
Not only is this venue and hotel the most beautiful and elegant venue I've seen the staff are honestly soooo lovely and kind and polite. Their customer service is beyond amazing and focus more on the people than the money. I had booked Winstanley House for my wedding which I broke off but throughout the process of wedding planning I dealt with Amy Faherty and she is honestly the most loveliest woman ever and her communication with me had always been fast and helpful. I can not say enough good things about Winstanley House
D. G.
Excellent staff. Excellent food. Excellent venue.
This place is brilliant for weddings, birthdays or even just a casual few good drinks and something to eat.
Recommended.

The building is absolutely amazing and the rooms are stunning especially the bridal prep area which has been very well thought out and as a bridal hairdresser it was a fabulous room to use.
Only one thing marred my Winstanley experience though...... I feel that the early morning manageress could definitely do with a bit more training in customer service.
I arrived bright and early (7.30) to look after a bride on her wedding morning, she told me the room was up 2 flights of very steep stairs, I asked if there was a lift and very curtly told it was a listed building so no.
I asked if anyone could help with my very heavy kit to which she snapped that's not possible before I'd finished explaining I had just had a hysterectomy.
Thankfully the lovely cleaner and security guard offered to help while the manageress just stood there.... I know theoretically I am only the hired help but I was there to look after your bride aswell as mine and I would have expected a bit more compassion especially as it was clear just by looking my kit was very heavy.
I get asked for recommendations of my favourite venues by my brides all the time as some of them book me long before they have even booked their venues and although I loved the venue itself this experience would definitely make me question recommending Winstanley.
Hopefully the next time I attend my experience will be a lot better.

Great little (unknown, at least to me) venue. Almost forget your in Leicester

Was invited to Winstanley house for sunday lunch yesterday and what a treat it turned out to be . This former school has been transformed into a hotel and restaurant with it would appear no expense spared. Lovely setting and beautifully restored and must say wonderful lunch and service .The portions were substantial and the food was excellent ,my Sirloin of beef was delicious and my wife,s pork was equally so.Must mention the staff to ,Josh who waited our table was very good in all he did ,most attentive and knowledgeable and finally Anthony the concierge was extremely friendly and welcoming, as indeed were all the staff i met. Will certainly return in the future .

Lovely venue and fantastic food.

Quick buisness lunch, fabulous setting and attentive staff. Originally went in to have a sandwich, however the Steak & Ale pie with seasonal veg sounded too good not to try and it didn't disappoint.

Had a sumptuous meal father's day here. Great location, well presented food by pleasant team of staff. A true experience of fine dining.

Lovely hotel, furnished to a high standard, everywhere very clean & tidy, friendly and helpful staff, great food & drink, good value for money. Will definitely revisit when returning to Leicester.

Lovely wedding venue in the centre of Braunstone Park. Good standard of hospitality and the staff were extremely polite. The grounds are perfect for this wedding snaps and there's plenty of parking as well.

Just had a Christmas lunch and it was great,I am gluten free dinner and they went out their way to make sure my experience was first class. The staff could not have done more to help, will be back soon for another great meal.Thank you all

Went for afternoon tea. Service was immaculate and the food was really good however they did not have much by way of choice in teas. Just green tea, fruit tea and english breakfast

Lovely venue but food wasn't good. Probably difficult catering for a large room of Christmas works do's. Will go again for the normal menu
E. S.
Had lunch here-lovely starter & dessert but veggie option is horrendous-watermelon steak on your dinner is totally unappetising to say the least
c. W.
Enjoyed our wedding present for one night stay.. I'm not sure if all rooms have a bath but my wife looked forwards to a soak without the kids and we did not have one.. if you book a room you need to find out first if there is room in the restaurant for dinner as when we went it was fully booked up to outsiders and other people staying.. I'm not suprised why it was fully booked as it looked lovely and the menu..
Wow what they have done to winstanley hall is outstanding.. it's beautiful almost perfect.. dont let it put you off where it is.. you look out your window and it feels like your in Derbyshire..
A year later we used another wedding present afternoon tea.. it was lovely.. staff are so nice and welcoming and will do anything to make u happy..
The food was really nice.. I was full to my suprise.. I'm definitely doing it again

Enjoyed our stay here. Room itself was the best part. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Service could have been more welcoming, security chatting on Facetime when we were checking in. The drive to hotel itself was poorly lit at night.
