Reviews of Admiral Hotel
We booked for 4 nights and to celebrate a special Birthday.
From the moment we arrived, everyone was so Welcoming and Friendly, Nothing was too much trouble at all. The location is great, literally 3 minutes walk from Paddington Rail & Tube Station .
We would like to Thank Everyone for helping make our stay so enjoyable.
And we will definitely stay again.
Thank you .
We will definitely stay again
If you don’t mind the term “unfussy” (meaning no dresser and minimal amenities) then the Admiral is the place for you. Each room has a nice big TV, comfortable beds and an armoire.
The hotel is currently being refurbished and I had the privilege of staying in one of the newly renovated rooms with a nice shower and included a balcony overlooking London!
The entire staff at the hotel are all extremely friendly and helpful.
If you need anything look no further than Kevin “the London expert” and hotel manager at the front desk. He was extremely helpful in recommending great restaurants pubs and dance spots that the locals frequent and I had an amazing time when I decided to try them out.
The hotel also serves a delicious and complementary English breakfast with your choice of juices, coffee and tea.
Location : Superb (10/10) on the center and just by the Hyde Park and 15 min. from oxford st.
Room : I was on one of the refurbished rooms, it was a bit small for a quadrable rooms, but it was doing the job.(6/10)
Staff were friendly and helpful especailly the receptionist. (10/10)
Breakfast : (6/10)
I think it's unfair that people are giving 1 star after watching the TV show Four in a Bed. Have they stayed here? No!
I must admit however that the show doesn't make it at all clear that the price quoted per night is the highest the room *could* be during the year.
I've been to London numerous times and have seen how ridiculous hotels can get when there is an event on. For example I can see rates right now (through Google Maps) are about £80/night which is pretty good for London.
Use your brains people.
Loved so. he seems such a fantastic guy. And very honest. brilliant place
Saw on TV, in fairness chap seems a good crack, a lot better than usual series. Fair play to him. Seems like they've had a refurb.
What i dont understand is how the rooms are priced at about £70 a night on Booking
com and Trivago etc, yet on Four in Bed they were talking around £300+. So has the owner had a reality check or what
Stayed at the Admral over the weekend with my partner, Kevin gave us a nice welcome and a fresh room. Round the corner from WinterWonderland and Oxford Street. Good full breakfast, really enjoyed the experience.
Absolutely awesome hotel with great accommodating staff. Rooms were recently refurbed so we had an excellent stay. Lovely location with great transport links.
Very happy with the Admiral, we have had to cancel our stay due to unforseen reasons, and the Admiral was very understanding and helpful in assisting us with cancellations etc
We have stayed at the Admiral in the past and have always had great service, kind staff, and clean facilities.
Thanks again to the Admiral team
Really good hotel for an affordable price. The manager and staff were very kind and assisted us in anything we needed. Recommended for a stay in London in a superb location.
Kevin on reception was excellent. He was so helpful friendly understanding and kind and truly professional. Kevin made the stay worthwhile. He offered help advice, gave maps directions and couldn’t have been more helpful.
Unfortunately breakfast standards left a lot to be desired… which was a shame… breakfast staff unhelpful unfriendly and uncommunicative.
Overall good clean hotel nice room.
The positives; initial friendly welcome, good location for Hyde Park, parking outside the hotel (£15 a day), comfortable bed, reasonably priced.
The negatives; We booked to stay in the Kingsway Hotel but on arrival we were given a room in The Admiral Hotel which was a few doors down. We were put on the top floor which proved tricky to get your luggage up and down as the last two flights of stairs became very narrow. It was rather an expedition!!! The double room was tiny. In order to get changed or use the bathroom one of us had to sit on the bed whilst the other tried to manoeuvre around the cramped space. You couldn't use the ironing board and iron provided as there was no space to put it up. Tea making facilities on a tiny shelf at the foot end of the bed (you couldn't walk around the bed as there wasn't enough room) so we didn't even attempt to use it. The shower room was minuscule with a sink the size you would find in a downstairs cloakroom and no plug. The air fan was thick with dust. Really unpleasant room to be in so thankfully we spent very little time there. At breakfast I asked for some cold milk (out of the fridge) as to which i was told 'no'. I didn't bother going for breakfast the 2nd morning. On departure our car failed to start(flat battery). When we asked if anyone had jump leads we were asked to go and find a garage (not ideal as it was a Sunday). Luckily we did have breakdown cover.
Amazing place to stay, warm and welcoming. Breakfast was bacis but the service/staff were amazing and extremely helpful. We would recommend and stay there again.
The location was excellent.
A few of us stayed here and were given a nice room with good facilities.
I enjoyed the stay.
WORK HAD BOOKED ME IN HERE LAST MINUTE, GREAT LOCATION WITH PARKING AVAILABLE. GOOD CLEAN ROOM.
Cheap hotel for London. Room very small but clean and modern. Hot water was nearly scalding though.
Me, my wife & two kids loved staying at the Admiral Hotel on 143 Sussex Garden, London, UK for the following reasons:
1. Breakfast - expedient matron who serves you traditional English breakfast: one boiled tomato, one generously-sized sausage, one large piece of bacon, and one fried egg, plus butter and gourmet jam to accompany toasts (white or wheat), corn flakes (not heavily glazed with sugar) and oatmeal (added straight into cold milk). Beverages include tea, coffee, milk, orange juice and apple juice
2. Room service - our room was small, but it had everything we needed (queen bed for us & twin bed for our daughter) // yummy instant tea and coffee refilled daily // maid cleaned the room the best she could around our mess before we returned from our daily excursion // unlimited liquid soap in the bathroom - handy for shower (water pressure was weak on the 5th floor) // adorable little sink
3. No gym available, but if you stay in room 16 (where we stayed), then you are climbing 72 steps from front door to room door (feel the burn)
4. Natural A/C via windows (3’ x 3’) which open outward to cool & dry off the bedroom/bathroom
5. Mini-fridge to keep your beverage cold
6. The water from the faucet is good to drink
7. Literally five minutes walk to Paddington Station
8. Extra bathroom located on ground floor (near the breakfast lounge) open to guests - provides relief during morning rush since we had three people in one room
9. Hotel owner decorates the entire hotel with her own skillful painting
10. Hotel manager Kevin (very friendly) circled the places we may want to visit on maps (free of charge)
11. Powerful Wi-Fi (included) to keep you connected to the world you left behind
12. Plenty of electrical outlets to recharge your devices - remember to bring your converter if you bring stuff from America
Only 2 nights but great breakfasts friendly helpful staff room good for the price and parking in London for only £15 per day spot on
Excellent price for the location. Good clean bedding Friendly staff Rooms small but to be expected for the price
The stairs is a bit small but, can’t complain room better then outside.
Good value for money.
We've recently stayed 2 nights in the newly refurbished room with bathtub at surprisingly reasonable price breakfast included. Breakfast was nice and indulging. The staffs were really helpful. Highly recommended 👍🏻👍🏻
Great genuine honest owner, very welcoming. Wishing him all the best in the future.
I resided here the area, the area is nice and thanks for the customer service
Stayed here last night with partner, new refurbished room for decent price! Will return
Great friendly place, good breakfast. Accommodating and understanding staff.
Nice clean place but no ac at least in my room
Such a beautiful gaff London Central hosts out of this world
Good location. Close to the underground. Decent rooms
Nice place close to everyware very clean. Very nice people working there
Needs air-con and blackout curtains. Staff was very nice.
Helpful staff found me a parking space at very short notice
Not very clean, room a bit stuffy for a onr meant for 4 ppl family. Staff was welcoming but the breakfast was chaotic and the state of the food at the end of breakfast hours could be much better
Very clean and comfortable.
Very nice room actually
Good breakfast
Amazing
It's okay for the location and three stars. Nice service. You have to look for things, but they solve them. Old house, thin walls, mostly renovated. For this price you can find accommodation on the outskirts of the city. But from here everything is accessible within half an hour.
First night in a rather small family room. Room refurbished. Clean bathroom.
Hotel under renovation. We were transferred to a hotel next door. Big disappointment. Basement room where you can hear the subway passing by. Very outdated room. Cracks in the walls. Water damage. Very old bathroom. Shower curtain worn, mold in the shower.... the double curtains are held up with clothespins...
The hotel is okay. There are no proper blankets, just a thin sheet and a bedspread. It's not Germany, but if you ask, any request will be fulfilled. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is sufficient and individually tailored to your needs.
The rooms are well-equipped and offer plenty of comfort.
Our room also has a smart TV, so Netflix and other content were no problem.
The internet is very good and very fast.
Upon request, it's no problem to get another room.
The staff strives to fulfill every guest's wishes.
The hotel is highly recommended.
Very nice place. Nice staff, always friendly. The only downside was that our triple room had a tiny sink. Otherwise, everything was great. The location was also great, with Hyde Park and shopping within easy walking distance.
(Translated) For 4 people for 3 nights only 380 pounds cost, it was still. But the rooms were small, so really small.
(Original)
Dafür, dass 4 Personen für 3 Nächte nur 380£ gekostet hat, ging es noch. Aber die Zimmer waren dafür klein, also wirklich klein.
The room has just been renovated so it is good. The structure in general leaves much to be desired. Poor breakfast. Excellent location.
The staff were absolutly brilliant and Kevin on reception went above and beyond he was fab room was nice and clean .
Clean little hotel, no traffic noise, solid English breakfast. Room noises are a bit audible. The room had just been renovated
Hotel a little dated, but like most in London. Reasonable price for central London. Expensive and bad parking.
It has a geographical advantage as it is close to London Paddington Station, but the hotel facilities are poor. Continental breakfast is ok.
5 minutes walk from Paddington, quiet neighborhood, full of restaurants, good price/quality ratio
Nice and accommodating staff.
Small rooms but fresh.
(Translated) Excellent location with transport and rooms too small.

Ubicación excelente con transporte y las habitaciones demasiado pequeñas.
The rooms are small. There is no elevator and the stairs are very steep.
Really good for that price...
Great stay
Average
Had a great stay here on holiday, it really was the perfect location for us to travel around and do our site seeing. The hotel is beautifully decorated with art works in the public areas, and the room was very clean and with a fresh newly decorated feel. The staff were amazing and really kind and helpful. I will be recommending to family and friends if they come to England :)

Very warm
Kudos to everyone, really friendly service and especially the people are really helpful. Service 10/5 and I can say that I will come again. 😍😍😍 I can recommend it, it has been the best trip ever.
Given newly done room on 1st floor, nice deco. Only issue was we were offered cold breakfast only, said they were short staffed. Otherwise great stay and location sublime with Hyde Park and Marble arch round the corner.
Winter Wonderland and Oxford street just around the corner made this hotel super convenient for our stay. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, have proper bathrooms and they serve a lovely full English breakfast in the morning. Wifi works fine and all the staff were really nice to us and helpful when we needed. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, will be back again for sure!
Stayed at the hotel recently with my family.
Great helpful staff at the reception.
Room was nice with a very nice shower room. Full English breakfast was included which was delicious. Overall a great place to stay and Hyde Park is just minutes away.
When I arrived at the reception, I realized my booking had not been transmitted by the travel agency, and, of course, the hotel had no vacancies.
They managed to find me a one-person bedroom with a small bed, located in the basement (no window !)
Honestly, it was better than I feared. Room was recently refurbished, had a lot of socket outlets, UK standard, German/European standard, and even USB standard for electronic devices.
Although the room was VERY small, it had everything you need for a good night : a cabinet for the clothes, a TV, Internet access, bathroom with shower, toilets and small sink, little fridge, water boiler, tea, coffee, and even a place to put the suitcase.
Only negative point was that there was no heating so it was very cold and I could not sleep properly.
I also found the staff not very helpful when it came to my problem of reservation. I asked them if the could write on a paper that they did not receive any booking for me so that I could be reimbursed for the night I paid, but they replied they didn't do that ...
