Just paid £40 and I still can't believe it! It was cleaner and safer than any other place in London. They were quite friendly though. I'm pretty sure it will be our first stop for our next London trips.

Astor Kensington was exactly what you want from an inner city social hostel. Many people were staying long term which created a really lovely family atmosphere blending staff and guests. Felt very welcomed and invited to multiple activities and evening events. Facilities were great, complete kitchen and heaps of space to store food in cupboards and fridge. Bathrooms were lovely modern and clean, plus a sink in the room I was in which was super handy for brushing teeth and getting ready in the morning. Location was also ideal with only a short walk to the Queensway tube station and across the road from Kensington Gardens means you feel both in and out of the city!

Second time here and can't say enough good things! This place is one of the best hostels in London. Great facilities and location, but the staff really make it even better. We had an issue with our bus and were forced to miss our first night. The reception not only waived the charge for our missed night (which they didn't have to do) but also upgraded us to a private room because we had such a difficult trip to London. So nice of them! Thank you, I will be back!

Loved it! Excellent location and an amazing team working there. Breakfast for only £1! And there is a shower inside the room , which is amazing! They even let you borrow padlocks and have lockers for valuables. It is the perfect place for staying in London :)

Nice, clean hostel. I was in a 4 female dorm, but there was only 1 other girl there. The place is a little cliquey and kind of far from the main London sights. If you're looking for a quiet place near Hyde park, then stay here. But if you want to be near all the hustle and bustle, look further east.

This is seriously the best hostel I have ever seen, hands down. The prices are great and the really amazing staff is even better. Everything you could wish for in a hostel, like wifi, towels, padlocks, printing, hairdryers, literally everything is for free and always given to you with an honest smile. I cannot stress enough how kind and courteous the staff is, they'll gladly answer all of your questions and help you however they can. Plus, they make breakfast every day, which you can join for just 1 GBP or € or any other currency, since they donate all the income, and on weekends, they even cook free dinner. Apart from all the highlights inside the hostel it's also well located in the center of the town, with all hotels around it probably charging at least double the price with half the service you get here. Highly recommended, would love to go again!

This place was my savior in London. I found myself feeling extremely comfortable in this place. The staff is friendly, polite and very helpful in regards to the whereabouts and what to see. They have towel renting service, as lockers and other things you may need while traveling. They offer breakfast for one pound, which even though it is not a great variety, it's really good in comparison to the price you're paying. Also, the money they save is for charity, which makes it even better. The room was cosy and comfortable, it was winter time and at all times the whole place felt warm. The shower was good, and the bathroom clean. The location is also amazing, it's really central but also in a peaceful area. Walking distance from shops, restaurants, two tube stations and 2 mins away from Kensington gardens. If I go back I'll definitely stay here. As is a place where you can feel like home. Unfortunately as they have many stairs, it won't be suitable for someone with special needs. There's a meeting room with a big TV, some games and a machine with some food, it was a little bit dirty but it was fine.

I cannot recommend this hostel enough for someone who intends on doing a lot of London exploring. Conveniently located near public transportation with the Tube being a short walk away and a bus stop even closer. The location is excellent and in a very nice neighborhood (almost too nice). I booked the 8 bed mixed dorm which was located on the very top floor. Just be aware there is no lift and it's definitely a long journey up so be prepared to work those thighs out. Although I was on the top floor I had a near flawless wifi connection. The hostel was very clean and maintained daily. Super friendly staff. The common areas are small with limited seating. An incredible value, my stay for 6 nights was only £111 which is truly unbeatable in London. I had a fantastic stay and would visit again and again.

Location makes many attractions in London easily accessible and nearby. The service was always available, helpful, and polite. The room was clean, bed comfortable (though the bunk did have a fair gap from the wall), but a bit tight quarters. Additional extras, like locks, adapters and similar things were offered with a deposit, which was great since there was no charge for use. Overall, for the price I paid, I found the value superb, and any complaints negligible. Highly recommended!

Good - location, reasonable (for London) prices, clean and well maintained with very friendly and helpful staff. Free breakfast is simple but a money saver in an expensive city. WiFi was fast and reliable. Less good - It's just not a great building. The rooms are small and were uncomfortably warm during my summertime visit. Due to the small size I found it quite noisy and it was difficult to get a solid night's sleep. Climbing up six flights of stairs got old quickly, as did having to go up and down them to use to the toilets and showers which are inconveniently located on only a few of the six floors. These are also very small; using the facilities requires a degree of acrobatic finesse. I would certainly recommend it if you don't mind the above. I can't fault the staff and I believe they were in the process of improving the facilities during my visit.

The hostel is a great, friendly place to stay. The people and staff are great. The hostel is very well located. Hyde Park is literally in sight from the hostel. There are two underground stations nearby, only five minute walk away at most. Between the two of them, you have access to three underground lines. The rooms in the fifth and sixth floor do get very hot and humid, as they seem to lack air conditioning. My biggest complaint, however, is the lack of electric outlets. There are a grand total of two outlets in the room. An extension has been put in to allow more, but then everyone is putting their phones next to each other, and could bump others chargers or steal someone's nicer phone. Wonderful staff open 24 hours. Close to the tube and late night food. The hostel always has people to meet. Clean bathroom and beds. Sheets included and it's not too loud since it's on a side street. Good place to stay. Great place to make friends!

Hostel is a bit outdated compared to the new standards of youth hostels. The room I stayed in was very small with two bedbunks made of metal, no plugs accessible in the bed, only a multicharger on the floor. London is very overpriced overall so I would say this hostel is a nice price/ quality ratio compared to the rest of london. Location is perfect

Friendly staff, clean rooms, a hard working vacuum cleaner, and perfect for an adventurous soul. Seems more like a community than a hostel. Breakfast every morning for just 1£. Seemingly daily ideas, plans, and even tours with some of the staff. I went to London on a visit to my parents after being abroad for a year, and coming back late/leaving early was never a problem. There was always a staff member ready to help, any time of the day, and it got to the point that I was more interested in what was happening at the hostel than what was happening n London (expensive is in understatement for that city!) Despite London's notorious prices, everything at the hostel was very appropriate and belied the service that I got. Cannot wait to go back to these guys.

Next time I am in London, I will surely stay at Astor Kensington again! Really friendly staff and comfy looking hostel, in a typical British house. Hyde Park is literally just around the corner and the neighbouring street has everything from souvenir shops and supermarkets to restaurants, bars and smaller food places. If you want to go out sightseeing, the crew will give a free map and guide with everything you need to know. And all this for 27€, if you just take a bunk bed. This is just awesome! I'll be back soon, I promise.

A very nice hostel with the most friendly and social staff. Though the stairs are literally breathtaking if your room is on th 5th floor, the room was really nice and really hot which, for me, is still main part of my London-experience ;) I've met great People there, some of them good friends now, who socialized and got together for activities.

Great place. The staff is cool and helpful. I found the shower in our room small but my girlfriend and I used the bigger one down the hall. I would give this five stars but my only issue is that everyone in our room woke up with sever allergies every morning could be dust or who knows. It was my first experience staying in a Hostel in London and I was pleasant suprised. The beds are fine and clean.The bathrooms are fine aswell - don't forget flip flops! The breakfast costs 1 pound and was really good. They served granola, toasts, yoghurt, and loads of jam and stuff. So I was really happy with that. The location was great aswell queensway and battersea station are super close and you have a sainsburys and starbucks etc. just around the corner. Staff was also really friendly!

Having previously stayed at the chains Victoria location I had a fair idea what to expect. Queensway is quite a bit smaller and they were doing maintenance on the hallways but the room was in very good condition and I lucked out with a room for six to myself for all three nights. Had forgotten quite how thin the single pillow they provide is, so be prepared to need something extra underneath unless you like a very low head position. I have some other nitpicks, but wouldn't be fair to go into excessive detail when I was overall very happy with my stay.

Great youthful atmosphere, clean and tranquil.There is a lounge with a big screen and also a dispensing machine.Breakfast costs one pound which goes to a charity. The Queensway market is five minutes walk and one can find all kinds of restaurants ,shops , money changing, internet cafes etc.Across the road is the Hyde Park and one can take a walk there. You can get down at Queensway by public transport and its a five minutes walk to the hostel.

I stayed in this Hostel in March 2018. It has several rooms (some are female only, some have a private bathroom). It also has a large living room, a large kitchen area, a laundry room and a luggage room. The staff was super nice and helpful and the other guests were also very nice. The hostel is located within 5 min walking distance from 2 underground stations (queensway and bayswater) and several bus stops. It is also 3 min away from the beautiful Hyde Park. The hostel is located in a very calm street, but there are restaurants, supermarkets and many small shops 2 streets away, which is nice. It is also 25 min away (walking) from Portobello Road. There is a 1£ buffet breakfast option which includes toast, milk, tea, coffee, cereal (several types), butter, jams and chocolate spread, and all the money goes to charity. I really liked this Hostel and I highly recommend it.

The hostel is ok and I coincidentally got an entire room to myself one night which was cool but the showers were tiny, the common area was tiny, and the staff gets a ding from me because one particular staff member treated the front area as her personal place to chill with her friends. We were here four nights and any time she was on she would be hanging out with her smelly friends who would be taking up the computer or being loud and obnoxious. Also because we were there four nights we had to do some weird booking and switch rooms for one night which was a pain and seemed unnecessary since we were able to switch rooms on request anyway. A big pro of the hostel is it is close to a tube station which will connect you to the rest of the city and it is really close to Hyde Park which was beautiful.

Currently staying here. Clean hostel in a safe area surrounded by expensive hotels. Only reason I give it 4 not 5 is because there are lots of stairs with no lift and the room I’m in is at the front of the building so it can smell like smoke from the people outside smoking. IF YOU ARE COMING FROM HEATHROW HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO GET TO THE HOSTEL: Take the tube from heathrow (buy a single ticket at the machine with card or cash for £6) and jump on the first tube down the stairs on the right. Take the tube until EARL COURT, get off and go up the flight of stairs to an escalator and another flight of stairs, get on the tube on the left hand side and take it towards EDGWARE ROAD and get off at BAYSWATER. Walk out of the tube station (make sure to put your ticket in the machine again) and walk 3 mins to the hostel!

I was in desperate need of a place to stay on a Saturday evening when somehow I came across this hostel with a vacancy; I was surprised. It was even in the middle of the city. What was the catch? Nothing. The person behind the counter was helpful and explained where to find everything in the hostel. The common area was small, but had a bit of a home feeling to it. There was a computer there with internet that you could use for free! (so generous). There was free Wi-Fi! too, although my android phone was stuck at "Obtaining IP address" and never managed to connect in the end; not sure if it's the Wi-Fi's or my phone's fault. And there was free breakfast too. And every public area is decorated in a really cool and friendly way. Would recommend to everyone, and would stay again!

Area, clearance and stuff was really great 10/10 If you want to save some money just buy food at tesco (there are 2 nearby - smaller and bigger) I don't recommend to take shared room, as visitors are like pigs - turn on the light during night, make noise, don't shower after a long day... better to pay additional 20£ for normal room

Wir hatten nicht vorgehabt die Nacht durchzumachen, jedoch entschieden wir uns im Laufe des Tages um und sind dann online auf dieses Hostel gestoßen. Wir wussten nicht, ob sie überhaupt noch Zimmer frei haben, sind hin und zu unserer Erleichterung hatten sie noch eins frei. Für 23 Pfund pro Nacht war es wirklich sehr gut eingerichtet und für 1 Pfund hat man Frühstück, Handtücher und andere Güter bekommen. Das Hostel selbst hat eine wirklich angenehme Lage am hyde Park. Dieses hostel ist definitiv für junge Menschen geeignet, die keine hohen Ansprüche an ein Zimmer haben oder einfach etwas für eine Nacht suchen. Würde bei meiner nächsten Reise wieder dort unterkommen

We went there for a college trip. The hostel offers rooms ranging from 2 to 6 people. The rooms of 2 and 4 have their private bathroom with toilet, but for those of 6 you have to go in the shared bathrooms, and the toilet also. The rooms are very small, and so are the stairs. Breakfast is quite limited considering the number of people in the cafeteria. However, the atmosphere is good, we can chat with others without a problem, and the entrance is secure, and we can come in and out whenever we want. For an evening or a weekend, considering the price it's correct :) (Original) C'est ici qu'on voit la différence de critères entre la France et l'Angleterre. Cette auberge de jeunesse a trois étoiles, en France elle en aurait une à la limite. Le personnel est très sympathique. Nous nous y sommes rendus pour un voyage de fac. L'auberge propose des chambres allant de 2 à 6 personnes. Les chambres de 2 et de 4 possèdent leur salle de bain privative avec toilettes, mais pour celles de 6 il faut aller dans les salles de bain communes, et les toilettes également. Les chambres sont très petites, et les escaliers aussi. Le petit déjeuner est assez restreint vu le nombre de personnes qu'il y a à la cafétéria. Toutefois, l'ambiance est bonne, nous pouvons discuter avec les autres sans problème, et l'entrée est sécurisée, et nous pouvons rentrer et sortir quand nous le souhaitons.
