I booked a room for my parents in April 2016. For one night they lived in a smaller room for two people with a bathroom and toilet, room was tidy, comfortable, nice according to the price. The other two nights they lived in an apartment for four people, which was really nice, clean, spacious, with the bathroom and toilet, kettle, coffee, tea.. Next to the room was a small kitchen ,which was used by all the guests, well equipped. The staff was nice and friendly. Distance to the closest underground and bus station is approximately 5 minutes by foot. Bus stop in front of the pension. I recommend this accommodation. Show less

Stayed here for 3 nights and was totally blown away. The staff were fantastic, especially the man who was usually on reception. So helpful and will really go above and beyond if you need any help. Our room was cleaned everyday and all the facilities were super clean too. They had a DIY laundry room which was cheap and had great machines, and also had a free printing service too! Fantastic location!!! Really nice, friendly environment and would be good for anyone travelling alone, wanting to meet people :)

The lounge area really needs to be kept better. Toilet on the ground floor nearly made me check out even without seeing my room. The dorm is more spacious than a lot of other hostels in the area so kudos to them. Really well connected and quiet neighbourhood. No elevators and five floors. Kitchen is in the basement and they don't offer basic breakfast for £1.

Decent hostel for the price. Lots of stairs and no elevator, shared showers and washrooms with lots of people. Friendly staff and most guests are really nice too. Definitely worth it compared to other London prices but not at the normal standard of hostels that I've experienced

It is a good place to spend a calm night or two almost in the centre of London. The room was small, too warm but clean. The laundry white and neatly placed on the bed. Unfortunetely I have to go and look for the chair to sit in the room, there weren't any in it. It's good for younger ones - they jump and spend lots of hours sitting on the beds. That is not for me. It is a pitty but the sitting room and kitchen ask for more attention from the well trained staff who were very helpful, friendly and polite. I definitely visit this hostel again and will recomend it to my friends especially to those who have to safe money and feet.

As others have said, you get what you pay for. Beds seemed clean enough, everywhere else not so much. I only slept here for a couple of hours after a late flight and before I got on my train home. For this purpose, it suited me well, I managed to get a decent sleep. Less stars given due to having to carry a heavy suitcase up several flights of stairs by myself, which probably woke up half the people staying there (the alternative is leaving your luggage in a room on the ground floor - leave at your own risk - I prefer to keep my belongings close in a hostel).

There's signs posted everywhere that basically say "we want a 100% review so let us know if you need anything in order to get that," and I have to admit, they did a great job! The place was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the location is great! The only issue I really had was the water. Most of the sinks in the hostel don't have potable water; the only "good" source is the kitchen. Unfortunately that closes a couple times a day for cleaning. Did that stop me from getting water from the kitchen? No, but I don't think I was noticed; I would hate to have gotten in trouble for it. As London was at that time going through a heat wave, water was incredibly important! Some of the recent reviews I saw on Hostelworld before I booked said "there are only a few power outlets in the rooms." When I arrived, some power strips had been added, so I think that's proof that they do try to fix things! The water issue is probably out of their control, so for me it's not a big issue. The rest of my experience more than made up for it!

Rooms were clean and staff was nice and professional. People staying there aren’t really friendly but that isn’t the hostels fault. I’m giving 3 stars because I stayed 2 nights and the toilets and shower wasn’t cleaned once. The sign says they are cleaned every few hours but you can tell they aren’t by tissues being on the floor in the same spot. There is only 1 toilet and shower per floor. Shower is tiny and filled up on the bottom so you were standing in 3 inches of water. Fix the bathroom and shower situation and I’d give it 5 stars

Very friendly staff, clean, a kitchen is available for guests all day long. The location is fantastic, only about 6 minutes walking distance from Victoria Station. Also, there's a storage available for the visitors that allowed me to leave my heavy luggage for a few hours even after checking out. On the flip side: in spite of the heaters, it was a bit chilly in the room (January). Still a great experience, would definitely come back!

Lovely place, brilliant staff and a good general vibe all over. Incredibly well kept, rooms were airated well and you had access to amenities easily. Breakfast was a quid, nothing special but easily enough to get your day going. It's close to a tube station so getting around isn't a problem at all. Only issue may be the stairs for people who have difficulty with mobility. Overall awesome stay.

Very good hostel. The beds were comfortable, and plenty of options to rent items like UK chargers with just an ID. Close to a Sainsbury, retail, dining, and a very short walk to the Victoria Station. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The only issue is the bathrooms are very small, but they are cleaned regularly. And the one pound breakfast is great, with the pound going towards a donation to a cause.

Very good location, close to Pimlico tube station and Victoria Coach Station. The staff were friendly, lots of amenities like lockers, padlocks, chargers etc., £1 breakfast (although I didn’t go for it), tea and coffee in the room, fan and heater in the room, bed was comfortable, towels and toiletries included. However, room was quite dirty, shared showers were absolutely disgusting, shared bathroom door didn’t lock, private room was in between two sets of stairs so very noisy! I had someone banging on my door repeatedly at 4am, which for a solo traveller is a bit frightening! £78 for a private room with shared bathroom for one night, I felt was a bit steep even for London as I’ve stayed in other hostels in London for around £55-60 a night that were much cleaner, but it was fine for a quick stop over.

For the price and the use in which I booked the bed under, you couldn't fault it. Staff were extremely helpful in questions such as eateries and corner shops for provisions. I slept well and would definitely book again if I need to.

Rooms are comfortable in our case my wife and i stayed in a private with a double bed but the toilet was anyway shared with the rest pf the place. The service is good 24 hrs of reception and are very friendly and helpful. The place can be improved there is waste of water and electrical energies.

The 24 hour reception people are super nice and help you a lot with everything from suggesting sightseeing places to helping your suitcase up the staircase. Though I stayed there for a night I feel that this place would be a go to for my next stay in London.

Nice staff. Simple, clean and lots of space. There's free storage under the bed, looks like breakfast was just £1. It's an easy walk from Victoria train / coach station and is in a nice neighbourhood. If you're looking for a bed for the night to catch an early bus / train, you can't go wrong here for the prices!

Nice staff. Basic breakfast of cereals and spreads for a pound. Beds are clean and toilets, showers are fairly clean too. The storage is basic under bed basket which you can have a padlock for in exchange of a 5 pound refundable deposit. I stayed at the Victoria hostel, very nice neighbourhood and close to the tube and Victoria station. Only downside are the fact beds are bunk beds which felt awekward getting your stuff from under the bottom, in addition to inconvenient access to power outlets. But all in all, a good place for a week's stay. I met a travelling couple who were through lots of hostels and they said the place was good too in comparison, so I guess this is something.

Definitely not my best hostel experience. Pros: great price, great location, free/donation based breakfast every morning Cons: only one outlet/power strip for a 6 person room, almost every bathroom was either broken or disgustingly dirty, no elevator and lots of stairs, staff made it seem like it would be easy for my friend and I to be placed in the same room (we booked separately) but then couldn't make it happen

Rooms are very clean. Neighbourhood is great! Part of the staff is not very friendly or motivated... Toilets and shower could be better: not very well looked after (could use renovation), no soap available and not enough space to quickly put your vanity bag Towels only at extra-cost (£1 but still...)

Very dusty place. Not sure why dust accumulates into white mounds as shown in the photo. That's what we came back to after a day out. But crew were definitely welcoming and helpful. When we raised the issue about the dust, one of them came up immediately to clean, though unfortunately only so much can be done with napkins and water. Location is convenient and i think the £1 charity breakfast is a great idea.

Staffs were lovely. Room was too small for 6 people. They told me they labelled my bed but when i reached, i couldnt see any tags around. Toilet wasnt very clean. Shower was okay but not that clean. No lift. They put me in 4th floor. Long way up but they allow to leave my heavy luggage downstairs at the reception. Wifi was okay not fast. Need to rent towel. If u wana borrow hair dryer gotta give £5 deposit or ID

Nice hostel, good breakfast. Very well located, so you can walk to a lot attractions in the city. The rooms don't have ac, only fans: for me it was a problem to sleep at night. Besides that, no other complaint.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, my friend wasn't meeting me until the following day so they took me out the evening that I arrived. The location is great, just down the street from Victoria Station in a very nice neighborhood. I stayed in an 8 person dorm and it's probably the nicest dorm I have stayed in for size and cleanliness. The lockers under the beds and the sink in the room were very handy. USB ports would be nice as many people don't have the right adaptor, but reception will provide one anyways if you need it. The shower was small, but water pressure and temperature were very good. Lounge is cozy and there's always a movie playing. The breakfast is basic, but as long as there's decent coffee, I'm happy! 100% I would stay here again, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It's a very welcoming place.

Only stayed overnight for less than 12 hours. Rooms seemed pretty clean and staff were really friendly. Bar area was close to the rooms and it got a little loud when I was trying to go to sleep (you could definitely hear the bar from the rooms). Thankfully I'm a heavy sleeper so it didn't bother me once I went to bed but if you're a light sleeper make sure to bring ear plugs.

I stayed here five years ago, so it was my first thought when spending a long layover in London. They had remodeled, which was nice. The staff were great, and I met some fun folx in the dorm. Would wholeheartedly recommend for a cheap night's stay. And I would definitely stay here again.

Quiet hostel, which was exactly what I was looking for. Friendly staff and there's definitely the option to socialize if that's what you want. Clean rooms. No AC, as with most hostels, but we opened the window and had a fan and it wasn't unbearable. Close to 2 tube stations and lots of restaurants around the area. Pimlico is a cute neighborhood in London, and this hostel was awesome!

Facility is clean and organized. The hostel is a block from a metro station in a really nice neighborhood. Staff is helpful, all of them speak English. There is an ATM in the lounge and the free breakfast is a lot nicer than I expected.

This is the place to stay if you're looking for an affordable, centralized hostel with a young atmosphere. They offer free Wi-Fi (albeit a bit slow at times), breakfast for 1£, hot showers, and a 24 hour front desk. They have a small common area with couches and the staff was very helpful/friendly regarding any questions or recommendations of places to go. No complaints.

Returned here after another hostel fell through. The staff is always warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean and the showers solid. The only downside is being on the 5th or 6th floor because it is a steep walkup. There isn't much nightlife nearby so people generally will drink in the kitchen before heading out to another part of town for the night.

1. Please note that if you stay in the female dorm of 4 or more you will have to carry your bags up several flights of stairs. The good part is that the staff is willing to help you with your bags but you still have to get yourself up there. 2. Not enough sockets that actually work in some rooms. Especially if you need to charge multiple electronics. My suggestion bring a double port or a port with multiple connections for one adapter. That should solve that problem. 3. The larger showers are located on the two highest floors ... all of the other showers barely give you room to turn around... there is a shower located in the room however when you’re rooming with strangers it’s a bit awkward. 4. Not sure if an elevator could be added but it would be nice... if you’re out of shape prepare for a workout... 5. Sound proofing would be helpful ... every step and movement was amplified from the people in the room above me so it sounded like I was trying to fall asleep at a bowling alley... 6. They need to do a deep cleaning of the entire hostel like maybe hire a maid service. It’s clean but it could be cleaner especially in the kitchen area where the microwaves are and clean the fridges. 7. Oh and the rooms only have one power strip for charging and it’s nowhere near your bed... so maybe bring an extension cord that stretches so you can use your phone while laying down. It’s in a GREAT location close to Pimlico station... if you’re arriving at Victoria just buy an Oyster card and go one more stop... that 5-7 minutes is better than the 17-20 with bags from Victoria station. There’s also a small 24 hour grocery store close to Pimlico for all of your basic needs. All in all I would recommend ... no one comes to stay in a hostel all day bc the point is to explore the city you’re in just make sure you have a portable charger because charging is a hassle in London.

The Ros were great and the service was good. I just didn't know what I was getting into. I was just looking for a place to crash while I traveled. There's a huge college age vibe here. Very much a party place. That's sweet if it's what you are looking for. I wasn't. If you're looking for a more cozy place to just crash, look elsewhere. It is located in a pretty safe street so u don't need to worry when u walk around late at night. Also, it is within walking distance from Victoria station where u can take bus going suburban areas in England. The restroom is not that dirty and u can enjoy some bread and cereal at 1£. U can meet many tourists from other countries and become friends. This hostel will be a good choice for backpackers.

Had a really great stay here. One of the best hostels I've come across. Kitchen and bathrooms were cleaned several times a day and the staff was really nice and accommodating. The rooms got really hot depending on weather but they had fans and guessing on the seasons of London an air condition in each room might be a bit too much. It's also close to both a Tesco, a Sainsbury, bars, Victoria station and Pimlico tube station. Overall a very good experience with hostel Astor Vitoria.

This hostel is a MUST STAY in London. The location is very central, the rooms are big, bright and spacious and the whole property is very clean. They offer a breakfast for 1£, which is super yummi and they spend 100% of the price to a charity organisation. But by far the best about this hostel is the staff! Everybody is super chilled, friendly and just awesome! Stayed there for a week and really became part of the Astor-Family! Thank you again for everything buddiiiies!

Pretty standard hostel. Thanks bunk beds are a bit rickety where you can feel every move the person below makes and don't have close access to an outlet. For £1 you can get a breakfast of toast and cereal. Only stayed for one night but it looked like they offered a lot of tours and activities.

I arrived in London and this was the cheapest spot closest to bus station. Upon arrival I was told they had an age policy but one night they could handle. Staff was great, allowed me to shower and wash clothes prior to check in. Small toilets and showers but clean. Actually first place I saw chewing gum stuck to the upper bunk.

I really enjoyed my time at the Astor Victoria. They have a big lounge room and a kitchen downstairs. The shower rooms were clean, but not as big as shown on the pictures. They just atm change the carpet of the rooms into wodden floor which is more hygenic. Basically your experience depends a lot on your roommates.I had quite nice ones. I only reduce 1 Star because my room was in the 4th floor without any elevator and it was super exhausting to walk upstairs and because most people only seem to stay here for a night because they have to catch an early Bus/Train/flight and get up rather early because of that. I was woken up 3 of 5 nights by people leaving around 5-6 am although I had earplugs

The position of the hostel is very convenient, underground station is cituated just two blocks away. Breakfast is possible to be ordered for the price of 1 pound :) Wi - Fi is working good. The only bad thing are linens which are extremely old!!!

Nice small 8person rooms so it wasnt hectic like some of the cattle market hostels that exist in the capital....about 10 mins walk to Victoria coach and bus station or 20 mins walk to central london. Staff always helpful whilst we we there and lots of activities going on...would recommend this place

For more privacy, I preferred to go to the shared showers where you can undress without showing yourself. There are multi outlets in the bedrooms but they are inconvenient when you are in the top bed with a standard size cable. The room was generally clean. I didn't have breakfast so can't rate it. Daher am besten Flip Flops mitbringen und irgendwas zum desinfizieren :D. Für einen Kurztripp in London ist das Hostel aber zu empfehlen!
