Reviews of Balham Lodge
Stayed overnight here and on arrival our greeting was lovely, made to feel very welcome. We read the reviews before booking and everything met our expectations. This is a great find and for sure will stay again when down in these parts.
Even gave us a free breakfast box the next morning.
Excellent value and fantastic hosts.
Nice hotel and always a go to for me when in London nto visit friends or for work. Affordably priced, traditional, but not run down.
Stayed at Balham Lodge several times before. Rooms are very comfortable (even if the ensuites are not large) and breakfast is excellent - well prepared and plentiful.
Great location parking no site, nice breakfast selection. Staff very pleasant polite and helpful.
Pleasant stay
Thanks
Great rooms. A bit hot and the fans they provide aren't great. Besides that the rooms are clean and the location is decent!
Excellent customer care, shower was a bit spashy as opposed to a spray, cosy room and really clean. Hopefully stay again
Really nice little mini hotel. Coffee wasn't great in the breakfast. Reasonable location.
My room was really hot and the lights were a little unreliable. Otherwise it was really nice
Very nice prices with english breakfast. Rooms very very average
A delightful B&B that was ideal for SW4 festival! Rooms and house was stunning, and was great value for money!
Good friendly staff
Good location for what I required
Spotlessly cleaenjoyed our stay
Good location as not far from tube/train.
Room clean and bed comfortable.
No breakfast provided but close to high street so can get breakfast there.
Attractive architectural gem. Spotlessly clean and lovely staff.
Convenient, clean with warm and friendly staff
Absolute pleasure to deal with, would highly recommend.
A stone's throw to everything you need in a town ranging from Post Office, eateries, shopping, leisure, library to transport.
Nice spot pleasant staff and yummy breakfast!
Very friendly, clean and great value for money
excellent value for money and great location
Good value for a London hotel.
Nice
Good clean and cosy b&b
What a lovely small hotel this is, a real gem in a sea of impersonal Travelodges! A lovely room with all the things you need: comfy bed, in-room safe, tea&coffee, hairdryer etc. Couldn’t ask for anything more and a great price too!
Couldn't fault the staff or the hotel
Nice attention, nice place
A bit dated.
Banging
Friendly
Comfortable hotel and very kind and friendly managers. There is a bit of variability in the shape and size of the rooms: some are large and others are narrower and more uncomfortable (L-shape that leaves the beds far apart and makes it difficult to see the television).
The bathroom in my room was unheated, but in the room of other friends there was a radiator and it was very hot.
Abundant breakfast.
Very pleasant staff, top-notch cleaning service, everything is always spotless. The breakfast is plentiful, but not extraordinary (the cheese is missing).
On the other hand, the big negative: THE NOISE!
Cigarette paper walls and wooden windows... The road at the foot of your bed! It's hard to sleep without earplugs.
I recommend. Great place. Very nice service
Friendly reception, decent room. Everything was clean in my case. The furnishings were a bit dated. There were a few German channels on TV. Breakfast was modest.
Correct rooms, clean, unpretentious, outdated furniture
Very clean throughout. Nice comfy stay.
A tasteful, small hotel in a not-so-central but very good location. A 10-minute walk to the tube, from there a 20-minute drive to central London. Balham has its own authentic town center, devoid of many tourists, with plenty of good opportunities for something to eat or drink in the evening after sightseeing in London. The hotel itself is located in a beautiful old town villa by a park. The street in front of it gets busy during rush hour. Our room was tastefully furnished and faced the back. The only inconvenience was the loud conversations of other guests in the courtyard in the evening. And the breakfast could be a bit less spartan. Otherwise, a good insider tip for London, offering good value for money and a good location.
Nice rooms, good breakfast, good location
all of a sudden we are not
Beautiful place with charming English style
Excellent.
Some rooms are too small, but otherwise you can not ask for more from this little establishment on Bedford hill. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated, and well maintained. And they are very quiet despite the hotel location on a relatively busy road. The breakfast is nice and rich for a lodge. The staff is polite and helpful.
We stayed here on the 18th -19th November 2017 and it was a beautiful stay. The receptionists were nice and helpful, the gentle man on night duty organised a taxi for us the next day. The room is spacious , neat and well decorated. Breakfast was good and the ladies were nice expect for one old lady who made it obvious she got a problem with other skins, otherwise will definitely stay here again.
Nice house with a comfortable room, but really small bathroom.
Be prepared to go up to the room through some stairs carrying your luggage.
Free breakfast doesn't have lots of options, but it's ok.
As a guest house, if you plan to arrive or leave during the night, let the host know.
It's not so close to the train/tube station, but you can walk or get a bus easily.
Don't forget to buy your Oyster card for zone 3.
One of the best places to stay in London, I had a wonderful time, and the staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful.
Only four stops between Balham and Victoria Railway Stations if you go by National Rail.
Good Internet and telephone service and costs were quite reasonable.
Also, the alternative taxi service was good and very well priced.
Quite nice, not too pricy for London, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is quite good. Unsuitable for disabled people due to stairs.
Stayed here several times for work. Really enjoyed my stays lovely friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. Great value
