Getting there by car you shouldn’t have to worry about congestion charge, but you may pass an London ULEZ zone, worth checking your car does not have to pay for it. The area is great, clean and safe. It is 5 minutes away from Swiss Cottage underground station, which is Jubilee line, so connected to central London. Parking near the hotel is free from Saturday 01:00 PM and Sunday, however within 5 to 10 minutes’ walk there is parking free from Friday 06:00 PM to Monday 08:30 AM. There is also a CO-OP 5 minutes’ walk, great if you need to buy snacks or refreshments. The hotel is big, and as mentioned in other reviews, dated, however in my opinion I like it and adds to the character of the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. In terms of the room itself, it was spacious and overall clean and tidy. Our specific room was very quiet (in a good way) and provided the best night sleep. I did notice in the entrance, where you leave your shoes, there was a thick layer of dust in the skirting board. The bed itself was comfortable and we had a good night of sleep. The bathroom specifically in our room was relatively modern, but awkward layout – the shower was very small, and some people may struggle with it, and the toilet was also placed next to the sink, some people may struggle using it as well. Going for breakfast it is a steep stair, which is fine for most people but worth mentioning. The food was good, hot, and plenty of variety in the buffet. The food arrived a bit slower in the second day of our stay. Overall, we recommend this hotel for its excellent location, comfortable room, good value for money and close to the underground which takes you straight to central London. It is great for weekend getaways.

It's five minutes walking from the Swiss cottage tube station. We stayed in room 107 right opposite the reception. It's a huge room by London standards, with a balcony! The room is equipped for wheelchair users. Although we are not, we enjoyed the room. It has several defects - the bathroom sink is too small and sprays water. There should be an extra chair in the room. The reception can be noisy at times. But the size of the room and the bathroom, and the location of the hotel, makes up for everything!

Unique and interesting hotel in an old mansion. Sure, it could use a refresh, but the rooms are huge by London standards and good value for the price. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Great location in a quiet part of town but mere steps from the tube station. No breakfast since COVID, but lots of reasonable options within an easy walk.

Nice little hidden gem, very polite staff, spacious clean room, no food was available (understandable) the only issue I had was the fire drills, no warning or notice just 15 minutes of solid bell ringing.

This hotel very close to the Swiss cottage tube station and is an ideal base to stay if you are visiting London. The place is a bit dated, but everything is clean and it was very warm in winter when we stayed. Staff are also very friendly. I think this is excellent value for money as the rooms are very large too. Our bathroom was enormous. Also good facilities, iron in every room, tea, coffee, biscuits and lots of TV channels. Not amazing but a good honest value place to stay.

We loved it here. Close to the underground for getting us downtown while staying in what felt like a quaint neighborhood. Enjoyed going down stairs for the breakfast every morning. The building it's self is older but has a charm about it. Our room for three was tight and so was the restroom but we were comfortable. No air conditioning (fan included), don't know what it would felt like if the weather was warn, it was pleasant during our stay and we liked opening the windows. There is a nice lobby or waiting area with a baby grand piano for guests to play - though it is in serious need of tuning. Restaurants and general stores about a 5-15 min walk. On week days there were open air stands offering various international hot food freshly prepared just outside the underground - very tasty.Nice

Top location. Fabulous front of house gentleman. Lift and comfy bed in an airy clean clean room with lovely bathroom en-suite. Super effective fans on a hot hot night. Excellent breakfast. Check in check out excellent. Sorted all our cabs (executive) nice ones. Not expensive. We’re there with my 83ur old mum for my son’s graduation. Bit now he’s living in the area, We will be back for stay overs and a great welcome, plus scrumpy breakfast. 👍

We enjoyed 2 nights at this hotel. It is old-fashioned and traditional with ornate furniture and paintings. Our room was very big with a large bathroom too. The beds were really comfortable. There was a lot of character to the room with an old wardrobe but the bathroom was probably the only thing modern. The room was very warm despite the radiators not being on, but this may be because December was particularly mild. There is a small lift and the WiFi worked well most of the time. The staff were helpful. Would recommend others to stay here too.

Excellent location and good character of building. Good rates. Unfortunately, no air conditioning, and building is really old meaning that the rooms smell of moth balls, the furniture is badly outdated (one piece was outright broken), and any noise from above rooms comes through loudly. Shower head in our room didn't work properly (it would not stay up). It was partially fixed after we complained. No lock on bathroom door which was a problem with 4 people in a family. Building needs a renovation urgently.

Stayed here on my recent visit to London. Location is excellent. Not too noisy and close to the underground and central London. VEry nice market nearby to do your shopping and buy stuff. Staff was nice and friendly, second day i requested tio change my room from basement to an upper floor and they made it happen. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit to London:)

We stayed here on the late may bank holiday for 2 nights for a cup final football game. In comparison to hotels around the area the price range for 2 nights seems fair as really you're only in the room to sleep and get ready. It's only around a 3 minute walk to the swiss cottage tube station and close to local shops such as M&s food and fast food places like subway and McDonalds. We didn't opt for breakfast as it was an additional £10 and found it cheaper to eat out. Rooms were average, basing it against other best western hotels we've stayed in the rooms are very outdated and our bathroom did have damp on the ceiling. We were also disappointed with no air conditioning in the room and with the sun against our room all day (215) it was very sticky and couldn't even cool down with the window all the way up. The bed was comfy and TV with full freeview. Another slight downfall was our electric just in our room went off when we came back to our room Sunday evening. The man on reception just shrugged and said theres nothing he can do and it's the whole street...which was weird as I held the room door open with my foot to allow the light from the hotel landing (non-emergency light) into our room. I also checked online for power cuts...no reported cuts in the area. Woke up the following morning to still no electricity then strangely around 8am the electric came back on. On checkout I did mention this issue to the lady who was unaware of a powercut as was I due to the fact the rest of the building had electric...but then said it was mentioned and a slight apology. So whether or not our electrics cut and he didn't bother to go the electric box that evening to switch it back on...sitting in our room for 45 minutes with only our mobile light after returning from a fun day put a little dampener on the day considering the price you pay per night! Overall if you are looking for a bed for the evening and not really in the room I'd maybe suggest this place due to price comparison to the Marriott round the corner nearly £200 more but I'd say a little update needs doing to the rooms and bathrooms! And some air con and more pleasant evening staff who want to help!

Best western swiss cottage is perfectly placed for visiting London. Our room, although dated, was perfectly clean and comfortable. We didn't use the bar or restaurant, so cannot comment, but would recommend this hotel

Location was perfect! You could see the Underground station from the door. The rooms were ok, they worked. Service was excellent! They were very happy to answer the many and various questions we had. They were helpful, took luggage to the room and reserved a car for us when we needed it. Would definitely stay again!

The hotel is a beautiful building in a pretty and calm neighbourhood, with many theatres and a glimpse of Camden market. Really easy to find from the tube station, and really convenient for the course I was attending in the area. Bit of a maze inside but once you find your room it is very well equipped without being modern. Good breakfast selection and staff have been really friendly so far.

This hotel is reminiscent of Fawlty Towers especially when 'Basil' is on duty at reception. The plumbing is an issue low pressure water making it difficult to control water temperature - so either a cold or boiling hot shower. In the summer they keep your windows closed and turn the radiators on full making your room unbearably hot. Nice thing is they provide a free newspaper and some staff are friendly. The linen and rooms are clean and it is a perfect location for work and central London. Just some minor improvements to hospitality would give this hotel a 4th star!

Myself and 3 friends stayed here this weekend, we had a great stay. The staff are nice and friendly and the breakfast was first class! not often I say that about anyones breakfasts but my own!! but little things like beans coming in little pots so everything is not soggy i really like!! Only 2 bad points - we requested fans and never received them (very warm rooms) and our room was number 6 and we could hear everyone in reception walking about this woke me up at 7.00am All in all this was a nice hotel close to the tube but also close to lLndon (£18 in a black cab)

A great hotel, very well located, close to the tube station, literally a few minutes walk, in a charming, quiet area of London with beautiful architecture. The hotel is stylish, cozy and extremely comfortable with fantastic service. Breakfasts served by chef Jack just divine. (Translated) Pros: 1-2 minute walk to the Swiss Coty area, breakfast was okay and the breakfast staff was friendly. The neighborhood is safe and clean. Disadvantages: The room (based on single room) is narrow and outdated. The floor carpet is a little too old because it is old. I had a problem with the WiFi for a while, so I can not do anything about it (after a few hours WiFi was good). There is no elevator until the fourth floor. It is just a good place to stay for a few nights inexpensively. If you did not include breakfast, there are two stars.
