Cool hotel, cool media sound and lighting features in rooms. Dining area is nice and breakfast was decent. Rooms are pretty compact, but ideal for a single or couple stopping over for a night or two.

Stayed overnight Saturday the rooms are small but have everything you need and very clean. The staff were very pleasant and a good breakfast. Love the location

At my last visit to London I decided to stay in Shoreditch (a good decision). I found this hotel on the web and although I couldn’t get airline points for it I booked it. The location is great- right in the center of everything. 3 tube station on a short walk from it. The check in process can be done by oneself. A good breakfast and coffee bar on the mail floor. Very cool room with a tablet to control everything in the room.

I love Citizem M in general - but this is my first time at shoreditch - and we love it!
Amanzingly warm welcome, support and what a loevely surprise in the room with balloons and a birthday card!
This made our stay finally perfect!
Oh - and even by esrly arrival, we were able to check in! This is what we call customer service!!!!! ❤❤❤

We have stayed in lots of CitizenM. This one, like the rest is fabulous. The staff are amazing and will always look after your needs without been pushy. The area is great with lots to do and close to a few tube stations, it's vibrant and fun but you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle for it not to disturb your sleep.
You can get some really amazing deals at the M's too.
Highly recommended and Super Cool 😊

Great hotel with friendly staff. Once you get used to the way it works (access is by smart card) it just works and is pain free. Will use again.
R. N.
Not stayed with them before so wasn't sure what to expect. Very pleasantly surprised. Rooms small but comfortable, common areas very nice, staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.
V. A.
What a place. The rooms are fully smart-controlled by an iPad. Wide comfy bad just next to the rooms wide city-window. Great, welcoming customer service. Good location. Will definitely come back
R. H.
Fantastic customer service, the team couldn't do more to make us more comftable and welcome, lovely breakfast, huge bed and loved the app controlled room.
J. B.
Fantastic. Best staff of any hotel I've been to, couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Great room and facilities and an insanely good showet. Will definitely return
J. C.
I couldn't believe how competent, professional, and friendly everyone was. At my hotel stays before, you often times know which one or two team members are the ones who know how to get things done. At citizenM I knew that anyone I spoke with would be able to competently help me out. Not an easy feat. I highly recommend citizenM for a clean, comfortable, top-notch, headache-free stay.
R. G.
CitizenM always have great hotels - this one however is the perfect place to experience Shoreditch and boxpark. Views aren't as good as it's tower hill brother, but it makes up for it by its choices in places to eat and drink being just on your doorstep!

Me and my girlfriend stayed for one night at CitizenM, it was absolutely everything we could have asked for! The vibe was so young and vibrant, it had an amazing ambience. The staff were so helpful and provided us with everything we needed, we were given a complimentary drink too which was a lovely touch. The rooms are very spacious, bright and have so many cool features. We could control the LED lights in the shower, the heating, music, blinds and TV from the IPad which was awesome. The bed was huge and so comfy, we slept very very well. I could not fault this place and would 100% recommend. We can’t wait to return!

Love all citizenM’s this one is in a great location, staff are so lovely. Our room view was amazing. We’ll always keep staying at citizenM as it’s trustworthy. I know it’ll be cosy and comfortable,

Great nights sleep in an incredibly clean, modern and functional room. Room functions controlled by an iPad or your own device if you have the app. Check-in via the app if you’ve stayed before or at reception if not. Choice of rooms at check-in including high or low floor, easy or west view etc. Incredibly friendly staff, comfy lounge / bar and a very secure hotel. Room was well equipped. Expect excellent Wi-Fi throughout. Looking forward to my next stay.
R. W.
Went for a drink with some work colleagues. I like the art and decor in CitizenM. Super quirky!
M. C.
Very cool hotel. The staff are really helpful and make your stay even better. I love how you control everything in your room from the tablet.
A. H.
I’ve stayed here a few times and everything has been brilliant. But the last time I booked my plans changed and I needed to cancel. There was an issue with the system online and I couldn’t cancel in time. After being charged I spoke to Citizen M. They refunded straight away and were extremely helpful. This for me is a sign of good customer service. Thankyou to Marina and the staff, look forward to staying again soon.

I've stayed in a few Citizen M hotels around the world. It's always a pleasant experience. I stayed in the Shoreditch one in August for 3 nights for work. Staff super friendly and helpful.
S. H.
As always, the service is great, the room is spotless and the feel is modern. I have found a great Italian restaurant 3 minutes away, so even better.
K.
Fine hotel to stay for a night or two. Huge and comfy bed. Easy check in and check out.
N. M.
The ambience in this hotel is very distinctive. It combines ultra modern technology to control every aspect of the room, temperature, TV window blinds, lighting etc. But they also lay huge emphasis on human values like friendliness and helpfulness. The windows are virtually soundproof so interruptions are minimised. Very good WiFi too. Quirky humour pervades the art and decor. We found it entirely pleasant. Covid issues have restricted the breakfast menu since we stayed there last - pre-covid.
J. H.
Very nicely design building, due to Covid couldn't sample the bar or restaurant areas, but they looked lovely. Would 5 stars, but the AV system in the rooms, although very flexible can be a bit temperamental with lip sync being out, and there being no seek bar on the iPad when watching films. Oh and the showers wow the showers are great for a London hotel.
T. H.
Very modern, easy check in, clean and probably best suited for individuals on business rather than a couple on weekend break
M.
This place has a great lounge that I've used many times for business meetings. I like the relaxed and quiet atmosphere, perfect for those needing a quiet space to work on their laptops. The aesthetically beautiful design is an added bonus. Love it!
L. A.
Top notch experience from check-in through check out. Self service options provided a quick and easy way to check in while allowing you to personalize your experience. The staff was extremely attentive and provided 5 star support throughout my 4 night stay. The rooms are equipped with a smart pad controlling the TV, lighting, curtains, and temperature. The bed and pillows were some of the comfiest I have slept on. The breakfast, bar service, and available snack selection were excellent. I especially enjoyed the local tributes and gluten-free and vegan options for my sensitivities. Also, this hotel is conveniently located near restaurants and bars. The only downside is there is no in-house gym; however, I was provided with a complimentary pass to one of the local gyms. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Love love LOVE it.
Great space to work downstairs
Amazing bedrooms with cool tech
Staff are incredible
Just the best place to stay!!!

Very nice workspace around the bar. Yes rooms are small, but bed is soft, great to sleep in. Small bathrooms, but nice strong hot water pressure. So extremely adequate for business travelers satisfying all needs you crave when you are traveling. Oh!, the staff is super courteous with always a smile on their face.
H. C.
Love it. Always such a nice team, quiet rooms, and super comfy beds.
R. B.
I stayed here for a week and the hotel gave off a really exclusive feel during the whole stay. It's a bit on the expensive side, but you are getting a good breakfast menu for being in London and clean rooms. The biggest downside is the size of the rooms which are very small (5-6 square metres) and the fact that the bathrooms have frosted windows for walls. If you are staying alone or with a partner it's okay, but otherwise it is too intimate.
F. L.
Loved it! Staff was super nice and recommended me to get a high floor room and OMG the view didn't disappointed! Room is well thought. The bed is huge and super comfy and the black out curtains made for an amazing night. Fluffy towels and big shower. Just had minor issues with the TV but didn't bother me.
C. P.
Absolutely brilliant find. Gorgeous place, service superb. Staff couldn't have been more lovely. Would stay again in a heart beat.
A. C.
Brilliant tech savvy hotel with lovely large beds and brilliant friendly staff ❤️
H. S.
Feels slightly budget with its small rooms and bathrooms, but well-located and incredibly modern and stylish. The self check-in should be quick and efficient, but may not work if you book through a third party website, in which case you need a member of staff to do it anyway. Giant bed (interestingly, all rooms are identical which means no twin rooms), great views, efficient shower, basic toiletries. The staff are lovely and there is a great bar with a small outside terrace, perfect for people-watching.
O. M.
I visited 6 months ago. Would come again definitely. The rooms are cozy and the double shades on the windows can ensure you don't see any sun if that's what you want, and you will appreciate it. Breakfast was great. Best of it all was the bar. Never have I ever had cocktails as good as I did here. Bar none. Well done @ the bartender.
R. N.
Loved the uniqueness and modern style of the hotel. Great design and decor. Very well thought out lobby and workplaces and an absolutely tech-savvy room. The workspaces are very well equipped and designed, and as it was a business trip, that was the highlight for me.
K. S.
Had a wonderful stay here. It’s the perfectly located hotel for anything you’re doing in east London. The rooms are really gorgeous with well thought out tech. The blinds are great and even though I was right next to the overground trains they were pretty much silent.
I loved the large shower and the separate sink outside the bathroom. Is the perfect way to get around the hairdryer/mirror problem!! Playing around with the mood lighting was lots of fun, as was having my music easily coming out of the sound system.
Literally have nothing bad to write!
C. H.
Nice Rooms and the hotel is quite unique, including the room furniture. The food there is good but not great. Luckily there is plenty of places to eat withing walking distance. I found the staff to be decent and polite. They are mainly there to help you with the self check-in process. I would likely stay again when I go back to London!
T. R.
Excellent hotel! Really fantastic staff and probably the most comfortable bed I've slept in! Great, slightly quirky, modern decor. Very clean and amazingly quiet hotel.
Only potential downside is that for us the bed was 'enclosed' so it's a crawl over the end of the bed to get in and out.
T. A.
Rooms are effective. Bed is massive and room comfy but not massive. Good for one night stay. Has all the smart features you could want in a room with an easy to use tablet to control everything. Great location. Quick self check-in/checkout. Good snacks. Great bar vibe all though o was too knackered to enjoy.
M. L.
Bed was really big and comfortable but the room is quite small. The place was overall clean and tidy. Fancy remote controls with cool lighting which was fun. A massive downside is NO KETTLE AND NO COMPLEMENTARY TEA AND COFFEE. Especially disappointing as I expected a hotel in England to provide these amenities. They’re charging 2.25 pounds for a tea bag.

Fun, hip place. Easy to reach, confy , nice room
S. S.
Love this hotel, stayed a couple of times now and it ticks all the boxes. Modern, light, clean and functional. The rooms are great. Really comfortable bed and nice clean white towels. Love the mood lighting in the room and the quirky little things. The bar is well stocked and quite a lively place to spend your evenings. Kevin behind the bar was great. Friendly and informative. Great location for exploring Shoreditch High St and surrounding areas. Train station only a couple of minutes walk. Only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because they tried to charge me twice for late check out so do double check your bill.
A. A.
Just spent one night at Citizen M Shoreditch, really great atmosphere and friendly staff.
The staff go the extra mile as we arrived to our room full of balloons and a hand written card for my girlfriends birthday. Even a voucher In the shape of a solid meme for a slice of cake.
The bar is buzzing and a great place to have a few drinks before heading out. Plenty of great cafes and restaurants around the area too for breakfast or lunch the next day.
Would recommend!

Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The staff was absolutely the best part; accommodating, kind, generous. I had a rough flight and Drew who checked me in put a nice note, cake, and beer into my room for me. It was so special and sweet. The hotel offers you the ability to forgo cleaning and donate the funds for bikes in Africa (so cool), and the breakfast is phenomenal.
T. E.
Trendy and ultra modern. I stayed here on a business trip and it was perfectly fine.
Just to set expectations of this place there is an iPad in every room which controls everything from the TV to the coloured mood lighting.
The room was very clean and well presented. Lots of cute little touches throughout like the branded soaps. It did have a somewhat clinical feel to it though. Closer to space capsule than to luxury.
I would still stay here on business again without a second thought. Solo male traveller - you will be well suited here. Anyone else .... Well I think they know their market.
C. P.
The citizen is a very modern and simplistic hotel. You have to check in and out yourselves, which would be fine if everything works great. Unfortunately for most it doesn't. Then the very friendly staff has to help and that usually takes than longer than usually. The rooms are very stylish and futuristic with full blown smart room technology, fully controllable through an iPad mini. Everything was clean and fully equipped. Nothing to complain here. Breakfast was the usual and sufficient. Very fresh. Staff was always British (very polite, helpful and kind). The price is very high which doesn't really fit the comfort. Thus the reduction in stars.
M. K.
If you are a tech person, you must love this hotel! Self check-in and check-out, smart rooms where you control the entire room from a tablet. The whole place is clean, you can find a living room with several types of seating in there, bar is always open and the breakfasts are just fantastic. Accessibility of the place is also very good.
A.
Cool hotel with a modern twist. Great bed as well.
S. Z.
We came here for our engagement trip, and we absolutely love this place! The was amazing, and the hotel gave us drink vouchers for our engagement. The hotel is very decorative and welcoming. Also the location is great if you want live night life a bit or tust go out for great restaurants and bars. I strongly recommend this hotel, and we will come back in our next visit in London for sure!
A. W.
Amazing boutique hotel!
The staff were super helpful with my girly when she checked in and then sorted my key out separately when I arrived.
The room is really comfortable with its smart features and HUGE bed! Also the rain like shower was a huge plus after 24 hours of travelling.
I would definitely recommend this place to others with its location and comfort.
C. M.
Brilliant hotels. I discovered them in Amsterdam, I was so pleased with the cost and all ways the business conducts itself and level of newness and cleanliness that I’ve looked for them every destination traveled since. Loved the Shoreditch premises as much as Amsterdam. Brilliant business model. The creationist is amazing, love it, love their brain.
J. M.
Fantastic hotel. We loved everything about it: the self checking (with somebody from staff always nearby and ready to help.
Very nice and welcoming staff.
They take care of your luggage even before checking or after checkout, and for free! That's very useful.
The room are equipped whit an iPad to manage and control the tv/media.
The bed against the huge window is also something very interesting; wonderful views from your bed. You can ask for top floor for no extra charge.
The room and bathroom were very clean.
O. T.
Cool, modern and comfortable hotel in a great central location.
The rooms are small, but with huge beds and more than enough space to use as a base. They have an iPad to control the TV, lights and blinds, which was a nice touch. There was also very little noise from the corridor or adjacent rooms, despite the fact we were opposite the lifts.
We were on the 9th (top) floor and their was absolutely no issues with outside noise despite overlooking a train line and located next to a club. The views out to East London were great.
Staff on reception were incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
S. Y.
Loved the neighbourhood (great restaurants, gyms, and away from the mad crowds in the main tourist drags of London). Rooms are compact but perfectly designed for the solo traveller, even for two with the massive super king size beds. The free movies is a great touch! Will definitely come back.
M.
Brilliant hotel this bangi n the middle of trendy Shoreditch.
K. v. S.
Great atmosphere and high tech hotel. The breakfast is amazing and you can easily lounge/work there during the day. The rooms are set up with smart lighting, heating and loads of movies music and more. It’s sound proof, you can make it pitch black with the screen blinds and the huge bed will guarantee a great nights sleep!
M. B.
Great location to stay to be in touch with London yet near great transport options to get away. The staff here are always incredibly friendly and helpful and seem to enjoy being there, which is infectious. They have a limited menu, but is good and interesting. You can bring food in and there are a huge number of restaurants in the vicinity if you to out and explore. The hotel chain are environmentally considerate, reducing unnecessary plastic bottles for shower gel and shampoo, a huge plus for me. They have a great work space with plugs for various plug hypes, however, if you need a quietish area the only option is your room as there is constant fairly loud upbeat music in the common areas.
Generally reasonable value for London though does depend when and how far in advance you book.
M. C.
One of my fave hotel chains. Great bar, love the walk in shower and mood lighting and yes the rooms are small but with a mahoosive bed taking up half of it whats not to like. Just a cool place to hang out, staff always friendly and great location in Shoreditch.
J. H.
Such a lovely hotel, friendly staff beautiful rooms! If your looking for a modern, middle ground hotel in shoreditch then I definitely recommend visiting CitizenM for a delightful stay! Will definitely he back again!!
c. r.
Fancy new hotel in Shoreditch. Very small but modern rooms, privacy for morning routines non existing. However, all very new and clean and digital. And I have never seen a „Listen without prejudice“ themed elevator. A must ride if you miss George Michael.
V. M.
Really great hotel in London! Rooms are very modern and clean. It's perfect if you're there for work. Lightening are the best and the main room of the hotel is perfect to have breakfast, to work or just chill! It's very well located!
S. B.
I come here for the great environment, fast internet and great staff. After staying in Amsterdam citizen M is becoming a favourite brand of mine.
Note if you are not staying here they have started to charge for a day pass for workers, which I understand if they were being over run with nomadic types.
So not exactly laptop friendly.
BUT great service and food none the less
S. V.
This review is not about the hotel itself but the coffee/bar on the 1st floor.
Visited this hotel as part of the London Design Festival.
It is a great, colourful space, full of comfy sofas. There is also a small terrace overlooking a great huge street wall graffiti.
Service is efficient and cakes are not bad at all!
I would def come back for a relaxed coffee with friend or even on my own along with a book or a laptop.
J. B.
I always stay here when I'm in Shoreditch, and having tried a few other hotels in the area I always come back here. I like the small rooms as they are convenient for business trips when you need to pack up quickly and not lose items her and there. Checking in and out is really easy, they email you the full invoice and you can add a company name. The best part of the hotel is the staff, I have always found them to be very friendly, helpful and professional.
E. J. D.
For us, this was the perfect hotel. It's really quiet, you can't hear any noise from either the street or from any other rooms in the hotel. There's blackout blinds, so the room gets absolutely dark. The bed is huge, really huge, and is really comfortable. The shower is really powerful and the towels are big, heavy, white fluffy ones. You control everything in the room from an iPad, including the TV and the lighting, and you can stream from your computer or phone also. The rooms are on the small side, but it has everything you could need.
A. F.
Clean, tidy room. A touch small (but this is mentioned when booking), you have to clamber over the bed to get to other side, but the bed is massive and comfy. We only had minimal interaction with the staff but they were friendly and helpful. Great location, very near to many bars and restaurants, less than a 5 minute walk from the overground too. Very funky place, would definitely recommend it!
M. E.
The room was great. The bed was big that could fit for more than two persons. Most of things in the room can be controlled by iPad like air conditioner, lights and TV. The only thing which I didn't like that the iPad app has adults section which contains inappropriate stuff so if you have kids make sure you check the tablet first.
B. S.
Great hotel. Very convenient located near business and bars, restaurants. I love the concept of Citizen M hotels. The rooms are modern, with a comfy bed and good showers and great tech. Stream your own device, watch a movie from the extensive and recent movie library or play with the mood lighting through the iPad. Also the breakfast is spot on with a good and fresh selection of food and drinks.

Update: After being contacted by citizenM staff regarding my previous experience, I returned to the hotel. I spent a very pleasant stay in a quiet room. The staff was very friendly as always
Original: The air cooling system is way too loud. It prevented me from sleeping, and there was no way to shut it / slow it down. I changed room after a night not to avail. The second one was the same. 40db background noise coming from the ceiling.
The staff tried it's best by providing ear plugs.
This hotel did not succeed it's primary purpose : allow a guest to sleep.
A.
Did a staycation here with a friend while living in London (we were students at the time and were sick of dorm life). The staff were friendly and the rooms were very cozy and modern. You could change the color in the room/shower and the bed was super comfy! So comfy that we ended up jumping into bed super early and watched movies all night. You get a free drink ticket as well, so we woke up and chilled outside with our free Aperol spritz :)
C.
This hotel concept is great. Quality bed, sheets, and shower, which are the top 3 things I value. Associated helping guests were super great and the coffee was solid as well. Recommended!
S. K.
Loved staying here, all the staff were friendly and welcoming. The lounge and lobby are are great for people who work while traveling. Their WiFi was fast. The rooms would have been a bit small for two people, but perfect for a solo traveler and even with the heat control I was always a bit on the cold side.
D. S.
My favourite place to stay if I need a room overnight in London.
CitizenM have a pretty unique brand but I love this one - an oasis of calm funkiness in the heart of Shoreditch. Love the bar. The staff are the friendliest that you could ever wish to meet. Everyone remembers us! It must be a good employer as staff turnover appears to be very low. Very cool!!
The area is edgy but the hotel feels very safe and secure, in case that is a concern.
J. M.
Great boutique hotel. Rooms are small but very fashionable and very well laid out. The lobby area is one of the best I've seen. Laid back and relaxed but lively allowing you to be on your own or part of a group, whatever suits you. Location is excellent. I highly recommend the citizenM experience.
E. M.
What an amazing place. I actually don’t stay there but I visit from time to time to have breakfast and work from the lobby from time to time. The decoration and vibe of the place is phenomenal, the music is perfect, the facilities super cool and the staff super friendly. I always by coffees, cakes and drinks and they are fab. The clientele is cool and people are even beautiful. The manager Natalie is super friendly and does a super job by keeping everything running smoothly and spotless. The breakfast is generous and lots of options. Power plugs everywhere if you want to plug your laptop. If I could give the place 6 stars I would! Thank you CitizenM.
A. L.
This was my second stay. Very disappointed they no longer permit smoking on the balcony on the first floor (-1 star for smokers). The staff is very polite and helpful and the location is great, close to public transportation and with quite a few nice venues nearby. The rooms are a bit small but very clean and cozy. Great food at The Blues Kitchen.
K. B.
Small rooms with a shower stuck in the middle, didn't like the way you need to climb over the bed. Busy, decent breakfast selection and drinkable coffee. Primarily self service, broken iron and laundry room miles away but overall a decent stay.
P. D.
Small functional rooms, superb bed, black out shades(total darkness), free recent movies and shows. Breakfast buffet morning is decent, great coffee, and helpful staff. Love the location and decor.
S. C.
Enjoyed my stay. Very modern. Easy check-in completed through self-service. The rooms are small, but well decorated and clean. I liked the tablet-enabled controls and free Wifi and movies.
Ø. N.
Cool place. Very nice breakfast. High tech rooms with loads of control over everything from mood lighting to single and double window blinds. Rooms are tiny, but very clean and space efficient.
G. D.
Everything about this hotel is efficient, the smart room controls, the check in/out. Bed is huge and comfy, probably would have found it too compact for a couple but perfect for solo travellers. Would be nice to have the option to turn off the Aircon entirely.
A. Y.
Nearer 5 than 4 - Easy self check in with help from lovely staff- cool lounge and seated area.
great views from the ultra modern functional rooms with great large bed and excellent shower.
Only improvement I'd suggest would be more plug/ charging points in the bedroom
S. I.
I liked how simple and minimal everything was, not to say it was lacking in features though. The room didn't feel small despite its small size. I slept very well in the large bed, and didn't notice until morning that there was an overground track running by my room because absolutely no noise was getting in. Got sent here on business so I'm not sure of the pricing bit it was a really nice place.
N. A.
I stayed in this hotel during my visit to London. As for the room, it had cool and smart features, like the automatic blinds and curtains, coloured lights, a TV with all the entertainment free, all which is controlled by an iPad. The bathroom was really small and felt conjusted. The wash basin was as little as it could be. Merely washing hands could spill the water around it entirely. The size of the room was not very commendable and just enough for a single person.
I had breakfast included in my stay package and found it pretty plain with not very great spread. It is just enough to get your day started but nothing very exquisite and scrumptious.
J. S.
CitizenM is one of my favourite hotels. The staff is always friendly, the lounge is fantastic for brunch or for just a drink and the rooms are very well designed. Overall, this place is the best value you can find. I will be back for sure!
C. G.
Rooftop Bar was cold in April, not much protection. Service & food wasn't amazing either but OK. Overall not too bad but I'm sure there are much better places to visit for a drink and food.
N. B.
Once you get over the tininess of the room, everything here is absolutely first rate. The room itself is extremely well equipped with very high end furnishings so, as long as you don't need to swing a proverbial cat, there's nothing you will be wanting. The lobby is amazing and it was a true delight spending part of a lazy Sunday there reading the complimentary newspapers.
I just wish they had a citizenM hotel where I normally stay in hotels as I'd go to another in a shot.
K. B.
Stayed here as I had a gig to attend at the Village Underground opposite and was very pleased with my choice.
Located just off Shoreditch High Street and around a five minute walk from the station it was very easy to find this place.
The hotel is very trendy/stylish and the lobby area features some very cool artwork/models. There is a bar, which also sells food, and plenty of tables available for guests to either enjoy a drink or maybe do some work.
The room I stayed in was great, huge bed, comfortable pillows, great view of the city and a very cool mood light feature. Everything in the room is controlled via iPad and there was a large selection of movies available to watch at no extra charge.
The only reason this place didn't get a five star review was because of the food. I went to order a pizza but changed my mind after seeing that it was a supermarket pizza that they were charging £9+ for.
Despite the hiccup with the food, I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to London.
V. B.
Love this hotel, great breakfast with good quality ingredients, comfy beds, mood lighting, easy check-in, good bar. One drawback...I needed more plugs for hairdryer, laptop and charging phone, the USB plug wasn't compatible with my pixel 2. Clearly not the end of the world though...! Still loved it.
O. N. F.
Very trendy hotel situated centrally in London, helpful staff who were very accommodating when we had a technical error with our booking. The room was very comfortable, and had a wet-room bathroom suitable for guests with reduced mobility. Would highly recommend!
M. L.
An amazing hotel in Shoreditch, one of the freshest and coolest zone of London. Everything is amazing and engaging from the very entrance: there is no traditional check in desk, but rather a table with 5 touch screens where you can register yourself, from personal data to the configuration of the key. There is always a kind person assisting you, in case of need. Once you are done with the key and enter the room, the experience begins. Furniture is essential and modern, and the double bed occupies the very end of the room to its total width. Warm and welcoming, is perfect for any rest. Bathroom is separated by a translucent wall from the rest to the room, and although small it has a conv3nient and elegant, modern shower. From the inside tablet you may control everything in a very intuitive manner, from.lights to curtains, from ventilation to media and TV. Lights can also be modulated with "mood" colours. What I loved is the style: all messages and indications on shower gel and shampoo are related to the brand Citizen M: not plain descriptions, but rather storytelling that creates a mood. Check out is convenient and quick as well. On the first floor is located a very attractive bar. The hotel is conveniently located at 30 minutes from London City airport.
H. C.
Absolutely loved my stay here in a spacious double room with a huge window and clean big bathroom. Wish I could've stayed longer to check out the breakfast and bar some more. Very modern design and furniture! Close to Liverpool St. Station!
T. W.
Fancy hotel with everything you need. Much effort has been spent to the color scheme and a comprehensive experience, including color/music scheme options for each room (iPad controlled).
Everything is functional, rooms are not too spacious, but well designed and sophisticatedly equipped.
Note that the double beds fit exactly into the rear end of the rooms which means the rear person has to step over the front person, if any. Shower and toilet are semi separate in a milky white plastic oval in the room. Thus, it screens you from view, but anyone in the room will enjoy the full sound of the bathroom. The sink is directly in the room.
No real reception, but self check-in/-out (staff assists).
The open area in the first floor offers comfy seating and food, beverages and everything else 24/7.
Conveniently located for public transportation.

I go to citizenM weekly for a meetup and I really enjoy it there. Staff has always been friendly to us. I recently spilled my coffee shortly after having just purchased it and they made me a new one without me asking. The coffee and cakes are delicious. They have tons of seating for lounging and eating or working. Nice place. Can't speak to the hotel experience itself though.
P. F.
Small, but comfortable room. Slight smell from either dry floor drain or toilet. Fully ‘smart’ room functions. Good temperature controls. This is my preferred hotel now in this location.
M. E.
I never feel like I am quite cool enough to stay at this hotel but I love it. Super easy check in and out process, big and fluffy bed, high tech rooms, and solid breakfast. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Rooms are a smalk but surprisingly very quiet.
g. w.
Friendly staff and efficient service. The standard room was compact but had all i needed. The bar and common space looked really cool, but my days were too packed to enjoy it... a result of being in such a good location. Happy to recommend it.
S. R.
Absolutely fantastic, great fun place to stay
C. S.
Had issues with payment upon arrival but that was due to a mistake made by my employer. Was hard to figure it out. They didn't let me enter my room before they received the payment.
Eventually on checkout they asked again for the payment. Told them I didn't had time for this BS and left my contact details because I had to catch my plane.
30min later they called me that everything was okay...
Rooms:
Pretty ok, everything you need, small but common for London.
Had a broken iPad during one stay. Not very handy when everything is regulated through that thing...
Food/bar:
Breakfast is good, nothing to comment. They cook you an egg if you wish to your requirements.
Same for coffee. Really nice!
Dinner is something I wouldn't recommend. Strange dishes and not really my taste.
Nice local beers on tap but not cheap.
M. A.
Such a cool concept and the rooms are incredible. There are little touches that make your stay feel very personal, the greeting by name on the screen and on the iPad which also doubles as a control hub for the lights, the TV, the shutters and a few other things. I loved the shower and the layout. I throughly enjoyed my stay here! Highly recommended!
F. B.
Attentive and warm service, fast-check-in/out. Comfortable and clean rooms. Good breakfast with all you need for an english breakfast as well as many other options such as a variety of fresh fruits, fresh breads, etc. Special mention to the coffee which is prepared by the staff, and it is pure delight. I would not rate my experience 5-star because I expected to find toothpaste in the room, which I did not. In fact, for hotels at this price range, I expect a dental kit to be in the room. Also, I regret there is no USB electric sockets in the lobby so guests from any world region of origin can charge their mobile devices. The top would even be that internationally convertible electric sockets are provided.
S. W.
Great experience. I am not a big fan of hotels (always prefer Airbnb) but I really liked this one. Small but modern room. And a great, stylish and cozy common area where you really can spend hours.
A. S.
Very modern and cool place to stay. Bedroom pods are small but perfect for a short stay. Massive beds, shower pod in the room with iPad linked lighting and media, free recent films and a fridge with free water. No tea or coffee equipment in the room but can be brought in the bar/ cafe area at a reasonable price. My 24 year old was very very impressed , 10 minute walk to the tube.

As a frequent business traveller, this hotel is amazing!
I've stayed at the CitizenM in Amsterdam a few times, but didn't love it, so was a bit skeptical about trying out the Shoreditch location.
My expectations have been far exceeded.
First, everyone is so nice (thanks Nathalie and Patrizia!), and the vibe is incredibly relaxed. The 1st floor lounge area is perfect for getting some work done, but in a buzzy atmosphere to keep you energized.
Yes, the rooms are small, but that doesn't actually matter because they are incredibly well-designed, with a small desk area, and lots of plugs. And if you don't want to stay in your room there are plenty of comfy places to sit.
I am super impressed, and will definitely stay here again for business trips.
E. S.
Very quirky. Large open area to sit and relax or do some work. Relaxed checking in and out. The rooms are small but they have everything you need. We chose to eat elsewhere, but the breakfast area looked nice and clean.
L. L. C.
This was my first stay in a Citizen M and I was really impressed. The reception / bar area was buzzing, welcoming and friendly. A million miles from the often soulless & impersonal hotel bars.
The room, although small is very well designed. The bed is v comfortable, it's incredibly quiet given the location and loved the iPad control.
All in all I was impressed at how much though had gone into the things that matter (fast check-in), good Wi-Fi, mirror casting to TV screen, etc. Will definitely be staying here again.
S. M.
Great Hotel, nice rooms with a huge bed. Loads of entertainment options too so if you are away for work you can chill out in the evening.
I had a great breakfast, but spilt my coffee. It was swiftly replaced by the very attentive member of staff. THANKS I really needed that coffee.
D. G.
Nice modern rooms, moid lighting, electric blind. Great value for money
J. B.
Excellent hotel. Small rooms but decorated well, clean and funky looking. Great service. probably not suitable for kids. Too many hipsters in the lobby stealing their wifi and working on their tech startups.
T. H.
Very modern and nice, but small room
C. W.
A really nice place to stay, It felt different, trendy and modern.
You can check yourself in automatically through touch screen displays, and get a free drink on arrival. The rooms are small but they use the space very well. The double bed was as wide as it is long. and wall mounted TV really saves space.
The most impressive thing is probably the ipad to control the TV, lights, alarms, and light colour.
My room was right next to a railway line but the windows were well soundproofed, it never woke me, and with the blackout blinds I slept like a rock.
A. F.
Absolutely recommend. Modern, stylish, clean. Rooms are relatively small if you have large luggage items, but the amenities make up for it. Loved it and will return. One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had.
N. S.
One of my favourite hotels in east London on a budget! The staff are amazing, the concept is great. Located in the heart to shoreditch everything is just walking distance away. Great lobby space with good music.
C. C.
Disappointed. I like this as a hotel, but I live nearby and I like to enjoy their amazing lounge not only when people are visiting. Therefore, I come once in a while (definitely not every day, and not even every week) and work on my laptop, and have a tea. I saw this awful sign, and it’s just so unfriendly. Every time I was here, there was always plenty of space for everyone. I’d like to buy more from the bar when I’m here, but they really don’t have a wide range and not really have food. So I’m just disappointed.
J. R.
Got there about 11am. Toilets in lobby were very dirty. Expensive small room. Nice interior easy check in nice bed, but no breakfast included in price and no coffee or tea in room. Good movies on TV.
M. P.
Thought I'd like it, ended up annoyed.
On the up side, the rooms although small are well laid out and functional, also quiet, clean and light.
Downsides: basic room functions are controlled through an iPad which is continuously crashing or misbehaving: moving the electric curtains of its own accord, turning on the TV spontaneously, making it's own screen bright when I'm in bed. Super annoying and unnecessary.
The cafe food is mediocre, but fortunately there are many alternatives near by.
The cutesy-poo theming is grating, especially when the basics aren't right. The shower gel is just nasty, I'm going to buy my own.
N. V.
Quirky and stylish it is, but also very high tech (I only began to figure out all the gizmos in my room during my staff), high quality breakfast, extremely comfortable beds, great shower, and fantastic staff. Really enjoyed my stay and hope to return soon.
B. F. P.
Location is great in the Shoreditch area and the concept of the hotel is great. The rooms are small, almost capsule like but the distribution is perfect and it has excellent amenities. Also super clean. Really good experience overall.
F. S.
What a great experience: This concept hotel - think toy art, design pieces, art books - is close to public transportation and has a lovely and friendly staff (special thanks to helpful head-of-staff Nathalie).
Coffee is great, breakfast has a great selection of pastries, cereals, and others. I would strongly recommend it!
A. C.
Rooms are "cozy" (but didn't feel cramped) and high-tech. You can control room lights, mood lights, TV, temperature, alarms, and window shades using a tablet in the room. TV had good movie selection (I watched the new Joker movie). There was also a US style electrical outlet in the room in addition to UK ones. Breakfast was included for me (I booked through corporate travel so not sure if it's normally included in the base price) but it was good. Lobby (check in floor) looks stylish and is comfortable to hang out in. Very close (1 min walk) to the BOXPARK in Shoreditch. Less than 10 min walk to Spitalfields Market. Close to lots of trendy restaurants like Dishoom.
Would've been even better if the room could be voice controlled (my home is controlled by Amazon Alexa). I hope CitizenM sees this so that maybe someday it will be.
G. J.
Clean, functional, upbeat decor and great open spaces. Very comfy. Good bar area. Yet to be discovered by locals looking for a decent quiet bar. Expensive drinks. Food ok. Better than similarly priced local hotels. Would stay again.
M. B.
Great place to stay. Really nice vibe. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Rooms are small but perfect if it's just a base to the head out and explore.
J.
Bargain on a Sunday night, small and compact rooms if wanting to swing a cat. Functional. Food delicous and the plate policy superb. The staff were very good and quite exceptional behind the bar, however its all about the room. Free movies gives it an extra star.
S. i. t. U.
Great location. Great space with good energy. Very comfortable and modern (but small) rooms. Good food and drinks available 24/7. One of the best places to stay in while in London.
C. A.
One of the coolest hotels I've stayed in. Stayed for 1 night and it's the first time I was ever disappointed that I couldn't spend more time in my hotel room. Usually when I stay in London, my hotel rooms are only so I have somewhere to sleep for the evening. As I finished work quite late, I was too tired to stay up long enough to enjoy everything the room had to offer and I was gutted!
I played around with the magic tablet that controlled everything in the room, and was thrilled to see free movies I'd been dying to watch (obviously I didn't manage to because I was so tired). Other than the cool gadgets in the room, every little detail has been thought out. All the items have little quirky sentences to read that made me laugh. The bed was so comfortable and the blinds actually blocked out any light from entering in the morning (other hotels always have that little bit of light that wakes you up a bit earlier than you hoped).
This is a great hotel for someone who wants to enjoy their room and feel a bit of inspiration from the art and wording around the hotel. Definitely visiting again.
B. Z.
Beautiful design, nice and relaxed atmosphere, food and drinks 24/7. Friendly and helpful staff, always and easy reachable. Free WiFi and enough space to work of needed. Rooms less suitable for small kids, though.
D. D. T.
We had a great stay at CitizenM. The rooms have huge comfy beds, with a bunch of cool tech features (new tvs, ipad room control, led lighting etc). The rooms are a little small, but fine for short stays. The staff are very friendly and the location is perfect. Would highly recommend!
J. R.
Great location. Compact rooms but very clean and has everything you need. Love the minimalness and branding. Unfortunately, the iPad didn't work in our room, which is fine, can manage without it but takes a little from the quirkyness.
K. A.
If I could have chosen I would have stayed at this hotel instead of the one I was booked at. It's very appealing with it's modern style ( ipads control everything in your room ) and a great location. The one downside is the rooms are very small, so you should limit who try to have over if you want everyone to be comfortable.
C. W.
probably one of the most awesome hotels I have stayed in. The location is just great, just corners away from what you want in Shoreditch. Checkin is so much quicker on the service stations. Also, the room is not super big but we had hand luggage for a weekend and it was fine. But the bed was huge and super comfy - I'll be back
W. G.
Best things about citizenM: big, comfortable beds; modern, roomy shower; good food. The decor is sometimes a bit much, but that's not why I'm there.
Only probably on my Shoreditch visit: the shower continually flooded the bathroom.
A. R.
Fantastic place, great vibe and atmosphere, however the 1 person that made all the difference was Drew, nothing was too much trouble, brilliant customer service. Nice to see friendly faces in a hotel and all the staff were a credit to Citizen M
S. D.
It's a cool place, quite self consciously so. The rooms are small. Would be difficult for two people and luggage to fit.
Eating and working areas on the first floor are spacious and comfortable.
B. T.
The environment and whole experience was very nice at the Shoreditch CitizenM however a couple of things just didn’t add up.
Firstly when we arrived there was a choice of rooms available, like normal and unknowingly we chose a disability adapted room. Of course we rang to reception to make sure that this wasn’t a mistake to which they replied “they have plenty of rooms for disabled people”. We didn’t have any issues with this.
After settling down in the room and getting ready to go out we noticed plenty of issues. The first issue for us that the bathroom was a wet room which is completely fine, however the floor was completely flat and therefore the excess water from the shower never made it to the drain, and just pooled on the floor for the whole 2 days we stayed. Secondly we noticed that there was only 1 mirror in the bedroom but no plug near this mirror, which in a room specially made for disabled people is very bad. Does this mean that they don’t like to dry their hair?
When we returned on the Friday evening, we decided to tuck up in bed and watch a movie on the TV. While doing this we noticed that the sound and remote was not working. We instantly rang down to reception (around 9:30pm) multiple times with no answer on this line. For a service that is supposed to be 24 hours this is just strange.
Today Sunday 11th November when we checked out, and came back after some breakfast to collect our luggage we arrived to a very rude member of staff on the check-in desk (embassidors) who completely ignored us to simply help his what seemed to be friends who had just left the lift. Upon mentioning that we were next in the que, he argued with us and told us to wait our turn and continued to serve his friends.
I know that these are not major issues to many people but after staying in many CitizenM hotels around the country and world I do feel like that the standards that I have experienced have dropped. Although the issues with the room were only minor I do believe that rude staff is something that just cannot be excused.
H. C.
CitizenM has the best hotel breakfast. Period. They even have vegan options, soy, almond, and oat milk, and great baristas! The rooms are also super fun- they are very trendy with smart lights. This is the only hotel I stay at when I’m in London (oh, and it’s in Shoreditch, which is one of the most fun/hipster parts of London)!
A.
Great hotel. Very clean and smart with lots of little quirky features. Amazing large comfy bed. Location really good for food, drink, tube. Also really slick check in and check out.
E. Z.
Have been raving about this hotel all weekend. Had the best hotel experience of my life. Great sleep, very quiet and comfortable bed. Great selection of films. Great croissant and coffee and loved the selection of magazines and newspapers whilst enjoying brekkie.
J. F.
Great location in the heart of Shoreditch close to bars and restaurants. Rooms are almost futuristic with lights, thermostat, TV, blinds and alarm all controlled by a bedside iPad. Hot and cold options available for breakfast. Hairdryer and safe in room but no kettle or iron.
S. T.
Loved every second of my stay. Amazing beds, tremendous interior design, breakfast is a flavour fest. Also, staying in Shoreditch is lovely and super practical if you want to visit London and enjoy your stay.
A. B.
Brilliant! Fun, relaxed atmosphere. Came here for our 9th wedding anniversary, on arrival they had decorated our room and left us a handwritten message saying congratulations and have a couple of free drinks. Which really made it special.
The rooms are compact, but again great fun, with an iPad that controls everything: brightness and colour of the lighting; room temperature; the TV with free movies (surprisingly free adult ones too).
C.
It honestly had never occurred to me that a hotel in London charging this price (not cheap!) would not have a bathtub, a kettle or a minibar! And that you'd have to check yourself in while beleaguered staff rush around trying to over-see the process! Also, the lifts barely worked and we were quite high up! Plus side - once over the 'culture' shock (having been advised by the staff that we 'have to change the way we think' - crikey!!!) I found the staff very helpful indeed, the bed very big and very comfortable, and we quickly got used to using an iPad to organise the 'ambience' in the room - found myself spreading out to watch a series of movies rather than wander 'round a blustery Shoreditch. It was fun but not sure I would want to do this for much more than a weekend - we could not help but be all too aware of the fact that it seemed set up for young travellers with more money than sense, which sucked some of the fun out of the experience (soz but that's how it felt though!)
J. K.
This is by far one of my favourite hotels! It is very sleek and techy and human interaction is at its minimum - which for a introvert like me is perfect!
The bed is MASSIVE and the room is full of stuff that made me go “OMG LOOK WHAT THIS DOES!” The view is great and you get to choose which way you face when you check in! The window is huge and you can just lie in bed looking out over London.
The only thing that could do with tweaking is the airplay facilities in the room, it kept dropping out but this is such a small issue that I can’t even take a star off for it!
Honestly couldn’t recommend this hotel enough and we will definitely stay here again on our many trips to our favourite city!
J. W.
It was OK. The bed was really nice. However, the tech in the room didn't work. The iPad wasn't charged when I got to the room, and you're supposed to use it to control the light, the ventilation, the blinds and the TV. There was an old school TV remote, but that one didn't work either. I tried calling the reception twice, but they didn't answer. So first night was without their so well-marketed "tech experience". In the morning I told the staff who said they would fix it, but at night when I came back the iPad was still not charged. I don't really care because I don't go to London to watch TV, but you know, it's not a super cheap hotel...
H. B.
Citizen M Shoreditch provides a classy and relaxed environment for their guests and the public alike. I regularly meet my friends at the Shoreditch and Tower Hill locations for coffee, cake, and hot chocolate (which comes with your preferred hot milk and a lollipop of chocolate that you melt into the hot liquid). The drinks and food offerings are also good. Citizen M is almost like a private members club: but welcoming to the public. One of my favourite places to meet friends in London.
K. E.
Very cool modern and trendy hotel with a millennial decor; fits the whole 'Shoreditch' vibe.
Staff are kind and friendly, nice selection of food (prices are a bit up there in price but nothing really different to the rest of London) and the toilets are clean modern and spacious too.
K. K.
Love everything about this hotel. Great design, books piled up everywhere free to read, easy self check in / out, great food and cocktails, great fully equipped rooms all controlled by Ipad, free movies, and an overhead rain shower. Highly recommended!
J. D. (.
Great hotel with small rooms but very well organized. No fancy thing. Coffee shop on first floor with breakfast. Great croissant.
Awesome WiFi. Nice staff. Recommended!
J. G. H.
Fantastic hotel, with very fancy rooms and comfortable beds. The ability to change colors on the lighting in the shower is awesome, and it is a definite mood setter for couples. Great breakfast too.
P. S.
Cool, great modern. Well equipped. Good staff. Clean, safe and quiet. It requires an element of technical ability to maximise your stay so I wouldn't recommend for a technophobe. But it's ideal for Millenials. I would definitely use again.
P. S.
Perfect hotel! So much tech crammed into each room (and it all worked absolutely seamlessly which is amazing!). Small room, but the bed is actually huge. Really nice views from the 8th floor looking out West and breakfast in the morning was superb.
L. A.
Had some friends from abroad visiting London recently. They've booked and stayed at CM and when asked why, it seemed that it is their favourite chain for the friendliness, design simplicity and overall tech vibe. While waiting for them to get ready, the staff at the bar was excellent. Also, great location close underground stations/mainline bus stops to the city. And yet, only 4 stars for the poor parking options.
V. D.
Very nice hotel, the concept is really funny and futurist. It can be a little expensive, but I checked other hotels in this area, and the prices are pretty the same. For some pounds, you should book in this place and enjoy the concept. Be careful, west side is a little noisy on friday and saturday evening, you are close to Shoreditch and its bars.
R. E.
Comfy beds, decent sized rooms, super self service (but a bit over the top technology wise. Took me ages to work out how to turn the tv off). Beds way better than the hoxton up the street, and cost cheaper!
N. K.
Great breakfast, great staff and beautiful loungy atmosphere. Compact but very functional rooms with a spacious and comfortable bed. Ideal for both, a business trip as well as a trip for two.
D. M.
Awesome hotel. Great breakfasts. Good staff. Giant beds. We'll soundproofed rooms. Great showers. What more could you want.
C. D.
I've stayed in a few CitizenM hotels now and they have all been good places to stay for a night. They are quirky in a high-tech way, and I like that.
The rooms are compact, but plenty big enough with a big comfy bed and a great shower.
The hotel has a nice bar with a good selection of drinks. All in all the Shoreditch CitizenM is a good place to stay in town.
M. E.
After a commuting day from hell, following rail strikes, fully book coaches and delays, we decided to break up our trip with an overnight at CitizenM.
Not really knowing what to expect, we were both somewhat overwhelmed (in a good way) by everything this hotel has going for it. Both being of the geeky professional persuasion, we greeted by a fully customisable 'smart room' via an iPad, a HUGE bed and clean fresh decor.
The price per night is hard to believe when you look at all you're getting, and taking in to consideration the location and overall experience, CitizenM is definitely one to remember. We were so impressed in fact, that we're looking at staying in some of their other hotels around the world. Highly recommended!
N. D.
While the service was excellent the storage room where clients can store their luggage lacks security. Car key accidentally fell out of my luggage while it was being moved around by another patron.
They however sent it back to me and covered the expenses and were wiling to compensate by paying for my cab fare from the airport to my home.
j. e.
Love the CitizenM hotels. Fantastic location within walking distance of loads of pubs/bars/restaurants. The hotel itself has the most comfortable bed, with an iPad in room which you can control the lights/blinds and stream a huge selection of movies and TV/radio to the big TV. Highly recommended.
M. J.
Really cool hotel, big bed, self check in, nice shower, free wifi, not too expensive. The one downside is that you can't turn the A.C. off (confirmed this with the hotel staff) as this is the only way fresh air gets into the room, as a result the air was pretty dry and it gave me a bit of a sore throat overnight. Great hotel though, really enjoyed our stay otherwise.
B. H.
I've stayed in the Tower Hill one before and this one is equally good. The USP of CitizenM hotels is their rooms are all the same but this is good because you won't be feel shortchanged. Would recommend signing up to their free membership as you get the room slightly cheaper. Bit pricey but it's a convenient location and great quality, you won't be disappointed.
T. F.
Good value for price. Enjoyed the living room space bar, food and working areas. Recommend using the smart home unit to set the room lighting, mood and alarm clock.
A. “. A.
I've had time to read the reviews here, as well as a chapter of a book, while waiting to check in. I guess they're having real problems. However, the interiors are really contemporary, and the rooms are sort of interesting for how small they are.
M. C.
Incredible place with incredible people there. I haven't seen in a while guys and gals working in such a helpful and friendly way. Even the management was incredible.
Totally recommended hotel.
C. W.
Citizen M in Shoreditch has the best sound and light proofing I have ever experienced. Not by a bit, by a mile. The windows are triple pane inner and double pane outer (so five panes in total), with two different curtains, one translucent, one blackout, between them. There is a train track directly outside the window, and you can’t hear them AT ALL. Besides a bit of muffled noise through the doorway, I have not heard any noise from other rooms, even the room directly above us. I arrived two days ago, 8 hours jet lagged and slept until 2pm! I haven’t done that in 20 or 30 years. Now the style of the hotel is not for everyone, young hip and urban, but if you want soundproof this is the place.
S. F.
Great hotel and staff... cool amenities in a super fun neighbourhood.
Only reason this isn’t getting a five is because the staff could use a bit more experience and knowledge about the city, but they’re still super nice.
L. C.
The citizenM Shoreditch is a good located hotel. The stuff is very friendly and helpfull.
The rooms are not that big, but it's ok for a citytrip. The style from the interieur is so cool :-)
The bed is very comfi, in the bathroom is a rainshower and diffrent light styles and all is clean.
M. N.
The lounge is one of the best spots in the area to work on your laptop while having lunch/coffee. Good WiFi, good coffee, power sockets, good views, friendly service. And unlike most other spots in Shoreditch with these features it's not crowded.
A. M.
Great location short walk from the old spiattal fields markets. The hotel is swift and modern with gadgets that glide you through check in. The room has got a Japanese style with quirky settings all at the fingertips of a tablet.. the canteen is very inviting and open 24/7. Brilliant
a. F.
The hotel is amazing and the staff were very helpful all the time. There is a high security as you will need a card to use the left and go in at night. There so many cafes, restaurants and shops around. I highly recommend it for friends trip or weekend off.
M.
Really nice space. Went there for a quick meeting nice coffee and snacks. Charge ports and relaxing atmosphere. I can imagine on a busy day it could feel quite crowded. But on a late Sunday afternoon very nice.
M. B. H.
While i was in a business trip. I stayed in the citzm. The rooms are very small they are more cabins then a room. . But i was really clean. Staff very friendly and cool. Really cool place with a great night hangout atmosphere.
D. K.
Well-designed, no-frills hotel with a technology-first approach to everything. Efficiency and function meets futuristic but relatable design. Hotel has a George Orwell's 1984 attitude about it, but one that favors "the citizen". Rooms are a bit narrow, but oversized beds more than compensate. All room controls are done via iPad. Located in the artsy Shoreditch area.
P. B.
Great hotel. Will definitely be using this as our go too London hotel from now on. The staff couldn't be more helpful and even had a nice surprise for our anniversary. Cant wait for our next visit.
C.
Nice and modern hotel in the hearth of Shoreditch. All you can eat breakfast for 16£ and bar open all day long. The rooms are a bit small but nice and functional. Lights, temperature, tv and blinds are controlled by an iPad.
S. G.
Wonderful location in a fun and young area! Definitely head to the boxcars up the road for some unique shopping. We stayed at a CitizenM in NYC and this one was very similar! Love the vibe.
J. C.
This was my first stay at this particular CitizenM hotel and it certainly won't be my last, the hotel features very quirky decor but it doesn't take away from comfort. Their breakfast was plentiful & delicious and the location is only a few blocks from the nearest tube station. 10 out of 10
N. M.
The service was great and the living room feel of the lobby was very comfortable and creative. The rooms were a bit small and I found the lighting controls overly complicated and yet not flexible for a 'smart room'
D. P.
Lovely room, massive bed can fill six people in it and I put four star 🌟 as there is no subtitled on TV and also breakfast cost £12.95 extra, not included in the price for staying.
D. t.
Beautiful rooms, bar is lovely and for the area reasonably priced. The bouncer was moody and will only let one guest into the bar per hotel resident but otherwise great.
C. R.
We stayed at citizenm London Shoreditch for the second time, this time we invited my mom for her 60th birthday. We had a great stay - the staff made sure that we had the best experience! Thank you very much, we will come again!
J. K.
Loved this place, the fact I've never heard of it bugs me. Great experience, from start to beginning. Staff amazing, rooms and furniture amazing controlling the room from the I pad. The view, just everything, will stop at citizenM again. Thankyou!
A. A. G.
My home in London. The rooms are quite unusual, with the shower and the toilet un a capsule together. The outlets on the wall are really useful with European, usb and UK types. I come to London for business and it really makes my life easier. In each floor there ir an ironing room. They give you two bottles of free water everyday.
C. D.
A different experience, from start to end. We are in the 21st century with this hotel. The room are set in a very efficient way. Beds are big, but limited privacy in the bathroom.
m. s.
Stayed in all the London citizenM hotels now, really liked the area though not great for the tube, I used kings crosss as an interchange. Visit dinerama, box park, brick Lane, urban food fest. (Saturday) and Spitalfields market. Like some previous reviews I found the room a bit hot at night. Otherwise clean quiet comfortable and friendly
J. Q.
I LOVED this hotel. Only stayed a night due to a cancelled flight but I fell in love with how modern everything was from the check-in to the room itself. Don't know what the food is like but would recommend to anyone
J. L.
A great high-tech hotel with lots of neat features but also great quality in everything it does. From the quick check-in process, the awesome lounge and bar to the great rooms. All this for an affordable price and at a great location, highly recommended!
D. C.
Service is always good, room is well equipped and the bed is just awesome! Free WiFi, free access to lots of new films and a very good rain shower with moonlighting, couldn't ask for more!
T. O.
Was a self serve check-in that took less than a minute! If u like gadgets the room has plenty! All controlled on an iPad in the room. Amazing. Will be staying again!
T. M.
Nice enough. Odd room, with no tea/coffee facilities. But clean and trendy and helpful staff. TV was good inc. lots of free (recent) films.
J. G.
Fabulous hotel. Massive, comfortable bed, tick. Wall to wall window with views of the London skyline, tick. Powerful rainwater shower with quality toiletries, tick. Cool mood lighting and blackout blinds, tick. Smart room controlled by an iPad, tick. Funky bar and lounge area, tick. A minute's walk away from Shoreditch station, Boxpark and Dinerama, tick. Can't wait to stay here again soon!
A. L.
Coolest hotel in the world! Rooms are so cool as you can control everything with the iPad (lights, windows, music, TV etc.), ver nice decoration. A real pleasure to stay there
F. B.
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Not just modern, clean, friendly, great healthy breakfast etc. But with real attitude and care for sustainability.
A. M.
Everything was very nice and clean. The rooms are beautiful, the crew is very friendly. Location is good, near bikes and bus/coach.
H. v. D.
Clean and comfortable room. The public space is really well designed and a good place to do some work while drinking a good cup of coffee. 👏
R. O.
A comfortable, modern and silent place to stay. Great value for the price, especially considering it's location. Nice to see US and mainland European power sockets in the rooms 😉
L. D. D.
This hotel provides automatic checkin machines, free water, a good bar on the first floor and wonderful and colorful rooms you can control using an iPad. Suggested.
r. g.
Fantastic cutting edge hotel, the beds are beyond comfortable and the lounge area is great for coming for coffee or lunch. The staff has always been friendly to everyone that I have seen in action.
M. A.
I visited the lounge. This isnt as good as tower hill, and the waitor made a point of highlighting you cant work with laptops there.
Definitely meetup in the tower hill branch, more seating, friendlier.
M. I.
Hip youthful welcoming and comfy! I love CitizenM's cheerful hotelier philosophy. That's why I always come back! Thank you guys
B. D.
Very comfortable bed, quiet and a great night's sleep. TV in our room didn't work properly and the toilet / shower affords minimum privacy....
E. L.
Great spot to hang out and work from. Good coffee, decent food, natural light and welcoming of us remote workers! Staff have always been friendly enough.
m. s.
Great & Hip location + night view ☆ Casual & Friendly staff ☆☆ Great to have whole first floor for multiple use and Great place to hung ☆☆☆ Comfortable super king size bed in neat room but very clean ☆☆☆☆ The room is conveniently everything controlled by ipad ☆☆☆☆☆
P. B.
Great hotel in Shoreditch. Rooms are small but adequate with free movies. You can control anything including the TV lights and blinds from the provided in room iPad.
P. A.
Super nice tecnologico hotel ! I stayed there for one night for work and it was very funny. You can pilot everything in you room with the tablet, from the lights to the curtains an the tv. For sure an experience and a funny entertainment !
K. S.
Quirky and super instagram-friendly hotel. Tech and buttons for everything - which my husband loved. Preloaded films and TV shows on an iPad which can play on the TV easily. The iPad even had a morning yoga session on it which is pretty cool. Well placed for coffee and breakfast venues too.
J. L.
Went for a hackathon Meetup and spent most of the day in the bar/cafe area. There were some issues with some of the wall power sockets, and their wi-fi is wide open without any password at all (very bad for security reasons) but it's a nice place, and they make a pretty nice coffee too.
A. S.
Very nice room, loved the modern look of the room and the hotel in general. The iPad to control the lights, curtains and TV is just the best idea too, I definitely recommend this hotel.
J. N.
This new hotel chain has become my first pick. I feel at ease here and as a result have already stayed in other citizen m hotels. Wish they'd open one in Copenhagen! And Dublin!
O. Q.
I think citizenM hotels are always clean and efficient but wofully overpriced for what they are. I stay for business but would never pay what they ask for such a small (yet functional and comfortable) room.
S. Y.
Uber cool futuristic hotel. Tiny rooms, but fun and cozy shared space. Friendly stuff and basic yet tasty breakfast. Will go back on my next visit to Shoreditch.
C. G.
Great place, no fuss, clean, and comfortable.
M. A.
Very nice and clean hotel. Located next to most work places in Shoreditch - London. Cool smart room control via iPad.
F. l.
The graffiti in the area, ALONE, is worth the price of admission.
The first floor lounges and restaurant are eclectic and comfortable, and the staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable.
Be sure to check out the shops and food nearby, as well!
J. T.
Love the workspaces ! So hip and trendy yet cosy. Free WiFi and a wonderful restaurant/ cafe makes it a great place to spend a day working at your laptop. The decor is so hip !
F. C.
Modern and efficient. Small but very functional rooms. Excellent Wifi. Good and accessible food. Overall no waiting times & great service.
N. Z.
So like to be there
P. M.
I come here every month, most convinient hotel in Shoreditch with connected rooms and an amazing bed. Staff is great and breakfast too! I highly recommend
M.
very nice, perfect for a tech savvy person. what is not nice though is the price. almost 200 pounds a night! if you can excuse that, the place is an awesome place to stay at.
m. a.
One of my favorite hotels in this area. Highly recommended.
B. D. P.
great place! comfy room, the best staff ever & tasty food 'n drinks in a location that is very difficult to better.
M. C.
Excellent hotel. Not the cheapest, but nothing is in London and I'd much rather pay a bit more for a great room, clean and efficient, than take a risk on a small grotty room that still costs a lot!
D. N.
Best return on your money, all you need packed in a compact package. Rooms are very small but everything is very well thought and quality is top notch.
C. P.
Good location and still loving the citizen M approach to hotels - simple yet efficient! Staff were great as always, hot food disappointing though...
I. V. d. b.
Great location in shoreditch with a lot of Nice bars and restaurants. Rooms are not that big buy modern and excellent bed. A coffee or tea machine in the room would be nice.
R. F.
Love this place! It's a must go and definitely get the breakfast, well worth the cost. Also become a citizen M member and get a free drink from the bar including the cocktails!
A. G.
Absolutely amazing food. Every bite from start to the last was delightful and the staff were super friendly and courteous to our every request!
I. G.
Very nice rooms and great staff - although I felt out of place without my laptop! Felt like I should go and buy another one just to fit in!
Y. A.
Very nice and funky hotel, rooms a bit small however the services provided are awesome. The bar is really nice and the location of the hotel is great.
D. W.
Great location close to loads of bars and restaurants in Shoreditch. Really lovely rooms and a great atmosphere in their bar area. Also nice touch is the free movies on their TV!
D. S.
Lovely clean room, excellent service and quirky design.
A. S.
It's amazing. The view from room, the amenities, smart room and area for having the breakfast or hanging out. Everything is so ambient. 😊
D. P.
Best concept hotel. I liked the automation during check-in/ check-out and the mood lighting in the room. Breakfast options were good
A. C.
Great location, funky, fun rooms. Clean and comfortable.
Automated check in was a bit painful with multiple rooms.
L. W.
friendly staff, amazingly furnished (vitra), gigantic bed, view over shoreditch, wonderful shower, huge movie and entertainment selection, soundproof rooms and the location is hard to beat. LOVE this place :))
J.
Fairly new addition to the CitizenM group. Great location for all that Shoreditch stuff. And everything as you'd expect for a CitizenM. Cool bar, great interiors, highly efficient room space but with massive beds.
R. F.
Great hotel that's simple, modern and relaxed. The beds are really comfortable and the location is great, not far from old Street or Shoreditch high Street stations.
J. M.
...a bit of a different...but very fun experience...a unique and modern approach to have a completely digital check-in with a friendly assistance...and small rooms with huge beds and windows...a hint of Sci-Fi...but very well adopted for a pleasant stay...we'll be back...
P. B.
Really enjoyed my stay here. Decent room and breakfast was worth including. Good food and coffee.
J. F.
Located in cool neighborhood with lots of places for lunch/dinner. 5 mins walk to the city. Rooms are medium size but equipped well.Very fast for check in and check out.
M. G.
Amazing beds!!! Little rooms but cozy, with mood ligths. The hall is beautiful and the staff are charming. Lo recomiendo!
C. S.
Another "wannabe cool" hotel... So many clichés!!! Same business model as the W Hotel two decades ago. Very small rooms. Staff is cool but definitely not pro.
R. H.
The rooms are VERY cosy!
P. R.
Always friendly and helpful service. Modern, laid back design. Comfortable, hi-tech rooms. CitizenM is my first choice when staying in London.
S. M.
Extremely modern rooms, everything is clean and well done, the staff are helpful and courteous. Breakfast is delicious.

This is the best hotel I’ve been so far. Technological. No need to talk with humans. Nice atmosphere.
M. T.
Every little thing is thought of and worth a photo. The stuff is super friendly, the location great. Breakfast is very good. The lobby encourages mingling.
C. H.
Great location in a trendy neighborhood, clean rooms, good breakfast, and cheap! Of course there are tradeoffs - very small rooms being one of them (but they are very functional).
W. E.
Cool AF hotel. Huge bed, fun features in the room, friendly staff, great location.
S. S.
Loved this place. Right in the heart of things, and the room was incredible! Can't wait to stay in a citizenM hotel again!
L. F.
A hotel for hipsters, basic amenities, over priced food and drink not great VFM
G. A.
Superb hotel, high tech with very nice people. Rooms and public spaces were great, breakfast with a lot of tasty choices
d.
Big beds, ipad controlled rooms, completely sound proofed and good food, can recommend the pizza for a late night munch, is my go too place to stay in London

Millennial Type of Hotel. Rooms are like Japanese condos. Has an innovative check-in and room control concept.
R. R.

T. E.

Amazing hotel, the room we got was not big but beautiful and the reception is incredibly cool. Got everywhere we needed by foot or bus.
E. R.
Gotta love CitizenM. Staff was very friendly in this one. Did not like the fact that I got an accessible room with shower curtain though.

To expensive for what? Just because you it's located in central Shoreditch nothing else. No water boiler in the room? Are you kidding? Hello, this is the standard in England!
A. S.
Neither as crazy nor quite as good as the Tower Hill branch, and the A/C seems less powerful, but the beds are still extremely comfortable.
s. f.
Great rooms, efficient service and check in. Great atmosphere in bar area and super quiet floors where rooms are.

D. K.
Shoreditch-style hotel. i.e. super trendy, lots of beautiful young people (except me) and a good foyer to chill in with free high speed wifi.
