Reviews of Docklands Lodge
I want to say special thanks to the young guy who was at the reception because he does his job professionally without any questions, which is very strong for you. I think that my friend and I will come again. Special thanks to the guys who prepared sushi because we took a sample on purpose. you cook there They really do and professionally As for the breakfast, of course the breakfast is at a very low level, I would rather not offer this breakfast at all, for the reason that we came there three loaves of bread, a jar of jam and some kind of cereal not breakfast It's just awful it's better not to offer at all if they offer it, it's better for everyone who ordered breakfast to have this breakfast in separate packages so that each person can get what he is supposed to have for breakfast
as for the rooms themselves, the rooms are of course made comfortably, I was very surprised that the bathroom had a jacuzzi, but I didn’t understand why no one pays attention to the fact that the tap is constantly flowing water. I can’t even imagine how much water flows out there for a week and I also want to separately to say thank you that they are quite comfortable, the only thing I don’t understand is why there were so few towels, since there were two of us, towels were calculated for 1 personI would also like you to pay attention to the fact that the lamp, which is located above the bed, you can directly see how much dirt and dust is on it. I think the one who cleans it to pay attention that these things can be vacuumed with an elementary vacuum cleaner, because of course it looks terrible.
Excellent service
Good
Surprisingly OK.
Very nice
Wow Awesome 🌹
Great hotel!
The hotel is clean and modernly furnished. The rooms are as described on the homepage. However, you should pay attention to the fact that there are rooms with a private bathroom and without a private bathroom. If you have a room without a private bathroom, you have to use the bathrooms in the hallway. The breakfast could have been richer. The service staff was always friendly and helpful. It was a stone's throw to the city center by public transport.
The reason why I chose this hotel is that it is close to where I work on a business trip. It only takes 10 minutes to walk. This hotel is very ordinary. There are no requirements. The price is very low. It is very close to the station and has convenient transportation. The bathroom and toilet are shared, which is quite inconvenient.
The waiters have a lot of attitude. My English is not good, but they communicated with me patiently.
Great hotel with good value for money, we had a quiet and quite spacious room.
The breakfast was really excellent and plentiful, the staff took great care. There is tea and coffee in the room with a kettle and everything you need.
The bathroom was spacious but it was a real fridge, it was very cold. The view wasn't great, everything is under construction around but we didn't come for that. The metro is just a stone's throw away and around 30 minutes from central London, be careful this can quickly get expensive on metro tickets.
Very welcoming and friendly staff.
Some small downsides in terms of the temperature of the rooms which was too hot, the fan provided was not able to cool the room and we therefore spent 2 complicated nights. A few hairs and marks in the bathtub...
The rooms are comfortable, but the budget rooms do not have a bathroom in the room. The bathroom was shared with the other guests on the floor where we were staying. The shower and toilets are in the same space, which is not always pleasant, as you can end up with wet slippers after a previous shower. The beds are not very long and if you are tall you run the risk of having your feet sticking out. The breakfast is typical British :). As for the staff, when we arrived we did not have the room we wanted and it was difficult to get what we had agreed with the agency, we had to insist a lot and call the manager. The next day they changed their attitude and overwhelmed us. There was no elevator.
A very pleasant surprise! I wasn't expecting to have such a clean and cozy hotel. A very special thanks has to go to the staff- all of them and in the evening and very early in the morning were very pleasant and helpful.
In addition my room had a shared bathroom- nothing wrong with that- perfectly clean , large and comfortable facilities with numerous private spaces.
Great stay in this London hotel, welcoming and pleasant staff. The room with the hot tub is awesome! Complete and good breakfast. In short, just great and super well located next to transport. Top
I highly recommend this quiet hotel located opposite bus line 15 which leads to Trafalgar Square and close to a metro station which allows you to be in the center of London in 30 minutes. The hotel staff is very welcoming. The breakfast is very generous served by Abus who is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very pleasant and well equipped: quality hairdryer, kettle, tea, water and mini bar. The collective toilets on each landing are new and very clean. No waiting to take a shower. Towels are changed every day.
Was very clean! Had the deluxe room! nice staff! Breakfast is freshly prepared! A bit out of the way from the city but with the DLR train from Poplar to Bank Station it's a 5 minute ride and is in the middle of the city. So if I go to London again I will stay in this hotel again, hoping to get a bed that doesn't squeak! Therefore only 4 stars!
Really great! Beautiful hotel, attentive staff and a generous and delicious breakfast. The only fault: no air conditioning!! Arriving during a period of high heat in London (over 30℃), the nights were very uncomfortable.
Too bad, because it's a great hotel close to the O2.
Let me give you some fair comments -
Good things: The price is super affordable (we paid 70 pounds a night in mid-July), the hotel staff are very patient and nice, there is public transportation as soon as you leave the hotel (you can take the bus for 3 stops and transfer to the subway), and you can walk to the light rail station. Free hot breakfast in the morning to keep you energized all day long! There is a supermarket 2 minutes' walk downstairs.
The bad: Especially for summer travelers, please note that none of the rooms here have air conditioning, and some rooms have no windows. Even for rooms with windows, some face the road, and it is very noisy at night with the windows open (mainly the sound of passing cars). Students who want a peaceful night's sleep may have to spend more money to stay in other hotels. But we put up with it because of the cheap price and its location.
Other points to consider: There are shared restrooms and showers on each floor, which didn't bother us. There are no good restaurants within walking distance.
The advantage is the transport connections - the buses stop right in front of the door. However, the rooms are clearly too small and the breakfast is okay for one or two nights - there were 5 of us - there is simply no choice...
Great place quite close to the center and well connected to central London. Super helpful staff who offer advice and will be happy to tell you what and where to visit;) and very nice breakfasts. Clean rooms;) I heartily recommend it
It is a cheap, good hotel, received a free upgrade to a king suite. You'll be right in the center as there are many travel options nearby. The hotel is very warm, breakfast could be a bit more extensive, but you do have eggs
Location is good, easy to reach via DLR and metros. Rooms are very nice, but very warm these days. Service is good only the breakfast could be a bit more extensive.
In itself a good travel hotel for short stays. Unfortunately, and this is the biggest negative point: no air conditioning and when it's hot outside, it's almost unbearable in the rooms.
Good room rates and very helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much bother. Blackwell DLR is a 5 min walk away and takes you to Bank or Tower gateway. Room comes with a kettle and tea and coffee as well as bottles of water everyday. Great value.
Nice and friendly staff. Rooms are okay... You have to take the train into the city. However, the train is only a 5-minute walk away. All in all, definitely good.
Very well received, simple, room redone and replenished every day, well equipped EXCEPT THE AIR CONDITIONING to be installed or put in all the rooms.. And a little noisy if you want to sleep with the windows open....
The hotel is really nice, the staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is like the photos on the homepage. I really liked it and would love to come back and recommend it to everyone.
Pleasant environment, basically clean. The room is small, but comfortable. Toilets and showers are shared in the hallway. The staff is relaxed.
Close to transport (bus and metro), friendly staff, clean room. Hearty breakfast. Close to a place for eating or walking on the quays. Quiet neighborhood.
Clean place and nice staff. Breakfast toast bread and cereal. Bath and toilet in the hallway. A bit warm but fans in the room. I had no window. Close to metro.
Liked the place. Nice and decent rooms. However, more heat. The staff is super nice and very helpful.
Very good hotel offering quality services. Not far from central London. A bus stops just outside the hotel to get to the city center.
Correct, clean, but small, and the toilets are outside the rooms and shared with the other rooms...
Comfortable and clean room, toilet and bathroom also, very warm welcome
The Docklands Lodge hotel is an ok-ish hotel, good for a single night. Conveniently located close to Canary wharf if you need to be there. The rooms are clean and quiet. Though some, like mine, had no window except the roof light, which you cannot open yourself. Minibar offered only a bottle of water. Breakfast is small limited to only croissants as bread. Coffee is good. Staff is very friendly and willing to help in any way they can. Overall a bit overpriced. Please like this review if useful. Thank you.
(Translated) Nice hotel but beware in the basic version no toilet in the rooms
(Original)
Bel hôtel mais attention dans la version de base pas de toilettes dans les chambres
Very good. Great staff. Transport nearby.
Very good breakfast and very cozy
Shopping center with a wide variety of stores for all tastes and budgets
Comfortable, very friendly, with metro and bus nearby
Accommodation close to the center and friendly staff
Excellent place with great people working there

Great hotel
Fantastic
Nice friendly staff. We stayed in luxury room it was very nice. Shower was strong and refreshing. Breakfast was really nice. There is no bar but that was not a problem for us. Would stay there again
I quickly had to book a hotel via the internet a few days before because I had a business appointment nearby and didn't really check all the details, but found this hotel which was rather cheap in comparison.
Later, I checked the ticket and got a bit scared when I noticed that I had book "shared facilities" and didn't know what to expect. When I arrived there - five minutes by foot from the DLR station - I am kind of surprised. This neat little hotel which clearly sticks out from the neighborhood. Very clean, small but functional rooms that have everything yoo need, plus the decoration is pretty lovely.
The showers and bathrooms were very clean and working flawlessly, and there were more than enough on the floor so I didn't even have to wait for a free one either in the evening or the next morning, so that was perfect.
The staff is very nice and was helpful as well, breakfast was okay.
The only downside during my stay was that because there was a heat wave in London at the time (30°C) it got very hot in the rooms. The window couldn't be completely opened so we had to keep the room door open using objects in order to get at least a small amount of air flow.
Anyhow, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody.
Although quite small and a room with no window, it was very clean and modern and was a nice stay for a night. Only one negative , and that is that the staff appear to argue a lot and talk over each other, especially the manager when his staff are explaining something, he tends to take over a bit. Apart from that, it’s in a very good location, close to the O2
Great guest house, great customer service. Will definitely stay again if in the area. Some rooms have no windows so perfect if you want to sleep in the morning without any sound or light to disturb you.
Staff very friendly and helpful, a few basic essentials missing from the room on arrival e.g spoon on the hot drinks tray, bathroom robe etc.
Hotel generally clean, bed comfortable, shared bathrooms kept clean by other guests.
Hotel reasonable price for London, but outside of London I would not pay what I did. Convienitent for the DLR and Cannary Wharf. Personally for myself this hotel would be a 1 possibly 2 night stay maximum, although I know other guests have stayed for 1 week +.
Breakfast didnt stay to try as was meeting a friend for breakfast in Canary Wharf.
Lovely little hotel. Amazing breakfast and the staff are so friendly. The toilet and bathrooms were clean and tidy especially for shared ones. Can not fault the place at all!!
Lovely location, The staff are absolutely the most amazing bunch of people I’ve come across so polite, enthusiastic and really fun to talk to. The rooms a little warm but very cosy!
I will definitely recommend and will be coming back very soon !!!
Nice little place with friendly staff. The room was nice so was the bathroom, my only issue and I think it's because I am massive was the bed. I was left feeling a bit sore but that was my only complaint.
Good sized room with very well appointed ensuite. Adequate range of food on offer for breakfast in an air conditioned restaurant. Room very hot in the recent heatwave partly due to the fact that there was only a small openable window in the room.
If visiting in a cooler time of the year would definitely use the hotel again when visiting the O2.
Great place to stay, whether you're on a budget or not. We booked one room for 4 students for 608€, breakfast included. Rooms were always neat and clean, the shared bathroom was clean as well. Breakfast was simple, but sufficient and tasty (omelet with mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns..., fruit, tea, cornflakes...) The metrostation of Blackwall was about a 3 minute walk from the hotel and brings you to Bank (Central Line near Liverpool Street) or Tower Hill/Gateway (Circle and District lines). Personnel was always friendly and the information desk was open 24/7.
Great for the price. Cheap, quiet, very clean with a great level of service. Shared bathrooms wouldn't be for everyone. Location isn't too far from transport links and I used this venue when attending an event at Excel London.
Breakfast isn't up to Novotel or ibis standards but it's fine.
We booked the deluxe room that comes with a bathroom
Breakfast was good, you could have freshly cooked english breakfast
our room was located on the third floor (last floor) and man the heat in there was killing us
the weather in london was around 28°C and our room was even hotter.
no ac only one small fan and one big cube sized fan which simply blows hot air into your face.
dont count on the window, it is super small and wont help you
i have to admit that without these fans our night would be even more unbearable
the room was clean although a little bit tiny
the bathroom was big and the shower great
you got a hair dryer, shampoo and shower gel provided by the hotel
i have to say that the cleaning staff is lets say average, they throwed away my belongings into the trash. luckily i managed to get them back.
the rooms comes with a handy smartphone that you can take outside for sighseeing, REALLY COOL
although i booked a deluxe room with a SINGLE double bed i got a two bed room. they had to push them together but in the end there still was a big gap between our beds...
I am been slightly biased when i say that DL should have 5 ***** as i work here.but if you see the work we do , you would give us 5*****'s too!!😊
Very impressive for a 2 star hotel. Yes having shared toilets and showers for each floor wasn't great but all very clean and well presented. Excellent value for money
Top floor room was clean, tidy and well finished. Jacuzi bath was a nice touch as well!! Bed was comfy and there was little to no noise which supprised me as being in the city and right next to London city airpirt. Would recommend and Ill return.
Perfect location for the O2 and Canary Wharf. Clean and reasonably sized rooms, comfy beds and acceptable free breakfast. Needs air-conditioning, as the top floors get unpleasantly hot.
King suite was nice BUT they didn't provide tooth paste nor soap in the rooms and they only give one robe and one sandals. Another thing is check out time is 11am and to stay an extra hour its £10. When most hotels u check out at 12.
High quality experience close to the O2. 3-5 min walk to 2 stops on the DLR, close to Canary Warf as well. The staff could not have been more accommodating, they really go above and beyond. The hall bath/showers were always clean and ready, didn't mind at all. Room was small but tidy - perfect for a few days at a conference. I'll be back next year!
A beautiful place to reside! The staff is overwhelmingly friendly and the prices are affordable. Loved it!!!
Hotel was very clean and tidy. Ideal location to visit the excel centre and locations. It includes a travel buddy to help you get to places or see what's near. Staff are really friendly and kind with good food on offer. Would recommend:)
Best $ value for the buck, I stayed 3 nights on a business visit from Toronto, Canada and it was great experience, it was super convenient, excellent staff, neat clean rooms, freshly and warm FREE Continental and English breakfast. I must admit that they really overperformed and I would love to stay back with them in the future.
Nice hotel, great location especially as it's near the O2, only downfall was our room didn't have a window. But other than that, staff were helpful and the breakfast was delicious!
Surprisingly very nice. Staff were very attentive. Breakfast was good. It is Muslim based so no pork or beef. For me not a problem.
Fantastic hotel with 5 star feel. I have also noticed CP HART bathrooms. The restaurant is great looking with amazing looking hexagon tiles with a bespoke reception desk matching the floor design. Once in the restaurant when you look around you will aslo notice some crazy looking lighting that Ihave seen before.
Lovely clean hotel, beds comfortable, breakfast more than satisfying, everything cooked fresh to order, fresh fruit also, the staff are amazing and attentive , nothing too much trouble, will defiantly stay again when in the area, thankyou for making our stay trouble free 😁
Great hotel, and a perfect location for going to the 02. The rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend it!
Convenient to the train station. My Room was small.but I paid small price 😀 breakfast was disappointing. But you pay for what you get X
Nice affordable place to stay. Friendly staff, easy assess to the city via buses, train and road network. You also have assess to the local communities and shops.
Bus stop right in front of the hotel. You can also walk to Canary Wharf station. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room cleaning could be improved.
Staff are friendly and supportive and try to cater to your needs and requirements as much as possible. Clean and food was good.
Really nice value for the location. Rooms can be very small and will be hot of its the summer, but you can't really beat the prices.
Really nice, surprisingly. Friendly staff and wonderfully quiet rooms. The only downside is shared showers but that is quite minor.
Short stay, room was very clean and comfortable, even the shared bathroom and shower was well kept. Great food.
Great location, friendly staff. Perfect budget accommodation near canary wharf and decent breakfast included.
A**** great staff, lovely hotel , home from home..
Very lovely hotel, in a convenient location. All the staff were great and I never heard a peep from another guest which is always nice
Nice room, lovely shower, clean and friendly staff overall a pleasant stay
Comfy bed but the towels smell peppery which is weird and the carpet is stained, shared toilets and showers too
Perfect, cheap pleace to stay, with very friendly and helpful staff. There`s no tube stop, only DLR and bus.
Really lovely, friendly staff! Very clean, simple accommodation.
Not bad for all intents and purposes. The shared bathroom thing I understand, but I wouldn't do it again. The room itself was small but very clean and tidy. I think some free water would go a long way. Breakfast was okay, however having fresh coffee would be nice, there is only bad quality instant. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Polite staff, clean and spacious rooms. Shame about the showers and toilets being separate to the rooms.
Quaint hotel, excellent service, fantastic breakfast. Great value!! Will stay again.
Very nice hotel, the receptionist is a very cute guy, the room was very big and clean.
Amazing experience. The place was spotless and very accommodating staff. Well prepared food.
I was a bit worried when I booked this normally staying in large chains but the staff where great and I slept well. At this price point it exceeded expectations.
Simple hotel. Small rooms. Heating broke when I was there. Room was like a sauna
Lovely room and very helpful staff I stayed for three nights enjoyed my stay
Would be nice if the room had a window and at least a sink but other than that it's a nice place
Good location, nice hotel with good decor, excellent customer service, brekky a bit disappointing for a full English
Very comfy stay. Staff very helpful. Lovely shower
When we were booking was unaware that some rooms had no windows. My sister did request to be moved to a room with a window and the request was granted. The shared bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Wasn't crazy about how the water from the shower would soak the entire bathroom floor. This proved to be dangerous for my daughter who slipped and fell when she went in to use the loo after someone had taken a shower.
They did not serve the typical continental breakfast as expected. A nice hot breakfast was served upon request at no extra charge. Yummy:) On the morning my family and I left to go to Paris, a light breakfast, with juice was packed for all 9 of us to take with us. That was extremely thoughtful.
This is a fairly new hotel and the night manager had asked what could be done to improve our stay. The staff was very kind, friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again. I would just remember to request a room with a window since there is no air conditioning and July was really hot.
I would recommend for anyone to stay at this hotel
Had a great stay!
The staff was verry friendly and always really really helpful.
great place to stay if visiting Canary Wharfe inexpensive and very helpful staff
felt secure and in a great location for access
Beautiful rooms... so close to the centre. Highly recommend!!!
Clean and well run but tiny room with no storage. Would still recommend!
Nice hotel. Good service. Friendly staffs. Thanks!
Nice hotel my friend lived there and she likes it.
Room its self was lovely, breakfast was really disappointing
Excellent food and friendly, prompt customer service. Clean and peaceful.
Used hotel to drop bag off, staff were brilliant.
Nice rooms, great service, descent price
Very good price/quality range. Rooms are tidy and clean. Unfortunately there was only a small roof window in the room but we knew that beforehand so it wasn't a big problem. We stayed here at the end of October, I'd assume that in summer this room would be quite hot. There is a fan but no AC. Bathroom (en suite) was also nice but some of the finishing wasn't of the highest level but nothing to really complain about. Staff is incredibly friendly and the breakfast is pretty good. There's cereal grains, croissants and an English breakfast you can get.
The location is also good, 5 minutes from the metro station, and from there it's 15 minutes to the centre.
Nice rooms and fresh if shared bathrooms
Great bnb with quality food served in restaurant on ground floor
Excellent friendly hotel very clean and tidy
Great exerience in the King suite, all staff friendly and helpful. Max was really great
All good. Bit hot
Comfortable hotel with very nice staff.
Very clean, friendly staff and nice atmosphere
Very nice hotel. Will be back
Food was good however service was very slow
Nice Quiet Place to Eat with your Loved Ones.
Very good service and welcoming staff at the check-in and breakfast. Everyone was warm and even when there were rowdy people in the hotel from a night out - staff made sure to tell them to quieten down at 3-4am as the rooms are close together. Very tidy and good shower.
Great hotel for business and leisure travellers
Its ok. Shared bathrooms but clean
Better than expected good DLR and bus connections
Clean cheap and convenient for Excel Centre
Excellent service, the really takes time to help you
Very good experience.
Friendly staff, comfy beds
Loved it
Amazing food, and service.
Thank you.
Amazing
Good place to stay. Hotel Staff were friendly and helpful. They also provide a complimentary breakfast which is so good. The hotel rooms are so spacious with a shared bathroom. I enjoyed my stay in docklands lodge.

Price/quality fair enough.

Stayed for one night and I must say the service was excellent! Great staff will go out of their way to help. Rooms are very clean and well presented. Oh and the breakfast was very nice. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone. 5 stars for me
