Apart from not having the breakfast voucher and facilities explained on arrival, our stay was brilliant.
Room was fantastic, everything clean and all worked! Was quiet in the corridor's and outside.
Location spot on with a tube station next door and Liverpool Street station 10 minutes walk.
Will definitely use again

I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. The front of house team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as special as possible. The hotel is located next door to Aldgate tube station which made it ideal for us to travel around London and it was within walking distance from the Sky Garden too. The restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel was also very nice for breakfast. Thanks!

We have been visiting the Dorsett City Hotel for years during our stays in London. The location is excellent and the price-performance ratio is basically right. Before Covid, it would have deserved 5 stars. According to Covid, we can only award 3 stars. The staff is friendly and the service is good too. The bar and the view are still great. However, the necessary investment in the facility is missing. The bar stools at the reception are not in a good condition and don't leave a good impression at check-in and this Image is reflected in the hallway, in the suite and in the bathroom. A renovation is definitely overdue and we hope that one day we can visit this hotel again in better condition.

Excellent location, clean hotel room, comfortable bed and good size TV with apps. I didn't get a chance to check out the restaurants and bar however I saw customers in reception queuing to go there. Didn't gave any communication from staff in reception so can't comment on that . I accidentally over slept and missed check out by nearly two hours. Room service were very patient and I didn't feel rushed to leave. Would stay here again, just wish I had a room with a bath tub in it. The shower was nice and hot. Definitely reccomend!

Bed and shower was great but bad service and hidden charges. There was only two staff at reception, check in took us 30 minutes, the room key for the room we initially got didn’t work, communication was bad, landline to the guest service never came through so we had to go down to the reception for toothbrush, room was not properly cleaned, kettle has soap in it. The price shown on website was “vat included” but on the deposit refund receipt there was another 12.5% charge for vat...at least inform the customer there is going to be an additional charge before we book. And again when one tries to call for any issue the line is always busy :)

It's just ok.
It's been a while since I've been on a business trip so was looking forward to staying in a 4 star hotel with an Asian twist. But it was just ok. Room clean bed comfy enough. But no real wow.
Reception staff polite enough. Might not be the hotel's fault food in the restaurant not great for the price to the point I gave breakfast amiss.
What struck me the most was the £50 deposite to ensure I don't trash the room and the anti drug posters in the lift, did not portray a great image of the customers that might frequent the hotel.
If I'm honest if stayed in Premier Inns and Travel Lodges that tick the right boxes for a good Welcome Stay.

I give 5 stars for the personnel but only 3 stars to the hotel… bed was not confortable and only queensize (for the same price you can have king size in another hotel in London ). We kept hearing people walking , clapping the door , laughing all night… so the room was not soindproof.

The hotel is nice and clean and the location good. However, we were really disappointed to be told that we couldn't use the sky bar as hotel guests for the one evening that we were there, due to a private event. When we approached reception about it, they said they have no control over this because it's managed by a different company so they had no say in it, but yet it is advertised as a hotel bar on their website! I explained that this is deceptive and they should mention this on the website for future guests as it is one of the main reasons we chose to stay there!

Overall pleasant. Although for the money there are a few other hotels which are better value as this hotel has no spa or pool etc.
One disappointment was the fact there was ZERO room service. This became apparent when I tried to press the room service button on the phone. I was instructed to go back down to the bar and order drinks and then try to carry AND operate the lift before heading back to the room. No explanation why room service was not operating.
Room was clean but again average. View was quite nice but would most likely stay elsewhere on future trips to London.

Very very good customer service. All the staffs were very friendly.
There is a 24h restaurant in the hotel.
Hotel is located near a train station and bus stop, very good and convenient location. Love it!

Does what it says on the tin, the beds were extremely comfortable I slept very well and was impressed with the quality of bedding. I will say though, the price was very high considering that there was no complimentary breakfast. I did not use any of the other amenities as I was not here long. I'll say it is a good place to crash after a busy work day in the city.

Stayed here for 3 nights, lovely hotel. Great roof top bar.
We'll definitely be staying here in the future.

Lovely room, really clean, comfy bed, great location and the restaurant and food was amazing the only downfall was trying to get cups in our room. It took two phone's calls to the front desk and two visits from hotel staff only to be told they didn't have any tea cups and got handed 4 geen teas instead 🤔. We eventually got two cups to actually drink from.

Amazing stay! The staff were super friendly, we came for a special occasion and were upgraded by the lovely receptionist. A bottle of bubbly was followed shortly! Rooms were super clean, modern and the view was incredible. Definitely will be back if we’re in the area (they also have a 24 hour bar downstairs!)

I’ve stayed at this hotel for 3 weeks on a business trip and I‘ll be surely coming back. Rooms are furnished with style, are well-equipped, very silent, and come with an amazing view on the City; bed is comfortable; personnel is always nice and helpful; breakfast is more than decent; cleanliness in the rooms and common areas could be improved but still okay.
K. S.
Very comfortable hotel with great views from the roof top bar.
A lovely couple of nights spent here relaxing was just what I needed. Very close to the tube too (next-door)
Highly recommend

A nice place to stay. Well appointed, with friendly staff. The rooms feel suitably special and the location is great for all the entertainment, food and drink you could want in Shoreditch, with tube stations just a few minutes away. Ideal for a shopping trip!

Tancred, Trudy and OZ were so lovely! we had the best time in the most beautiful room. We will be back for sure! so wonderful to see such a diverse team, professional and friendly atmosphere everyone looked like they were having a great day which is what I love to see when Im about to stay the night somewhere. I felt so comfortable! Thanks team, you rock!
G. B.
I really enjoyed my stay the rooms were fantastic and I also appreciate the extra lengths that Vladimir & Trudy went to to make this possible. They made my whole night & I will recommending & returning to this stunning hotel!🔥
S. K.
Had a great stay . Restaurant open 24hr . Food lovely. Staff super friendly. Great location
A. B.
Staff were very friendly. Was a pleasant surprise to be upgraded from the basic room. Room was extremely clean, modern but on the small size. However this is very central.
Takes 10 seconds to get to Aldgate station. Less than 10 to Liverpool Street. There are plenty of cafes and supermarkets near by.
Fine for a short stay. Would prefer to be slightly further out to get a bigger room for the money.
C. B.
Stayed at the Dorsett City for several night and would very much recommend. For us, we were very worried about the wifi as my husband and I were working from the hotel room for a few days but we had zero trouble! We stayed on the third floor and the wifi was extremely great!
Staff were wonderful and the rooms very clean with a big desk and two chairs!
f. L.
The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfy however there were a few points I felt could be better we paid for a breakfast to be included however you were only allowed a set menu (not the full selection available at the restraunt) and when I asked for water with my tea I found I could only have 1 drink, also the room was for 2 people but there was only 3 pillows provided and the fire alarm went off breifly one morning and when I tired to call reception to find out what happened noone answered , and check in took quite a while . That being said with a few tweaks I would come back if there was an offer available as it is a great location for site seeing.

We loved our stay, our rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was very kind as well , we will definitely be back in the future

Had a great night at Dorset City Hotel. The hotel manager Jenna was an absolute delight. Super helpful and accommodating.
E. R.
Great location. The beds were super comfy. I would stay again.

Originally had some issues with my room but managed to get that sorted.
Tancred and Jenny are absolutely delightful ! Caring, easy to talk with and go the extra mile every single time ! Both are so hard working and really turned my last few days from meh to amazing. Would give more stars if I could. Tancred has only been here 4 weeks and stands out farrrrr above from some of the other staff I’ve met here. An absolute gem he is.
N. O.
Upon arrival for my 30th we unfortunately was given a room which we thought was below par however tancred on reception quickly resolved this for us with no hesitation and it made our weekend! He was professional and efficient even surprised us with a few cheeky chocolates and a bottle of champagne. 5 star service from him in particular.
P. S.
Nice view from room but thought rooms of 4* hotels still need to made each day!!
Rooms were quite quiet given the queue in lobby for roof bar, trying too hard to be an "it" hotel
K. F.
Lovely and clean, very quiet 🤫 comfy beds. Modern bathroom/bedroom.
M. A.
Very nice staff. Excellent location with great views of the amazing City. Clean and modern. Had to move rooms, as my bathroom floor wouldn't drain but that was sorted well. Breakfast service was a bit slow but things are much harder for staff since the pandemic. Breakfast ingredients were quite cheap quality.
D. L.
Nice rooms but still not gi enough my £50 room deposit back from 1st October
B. L.
Great hotel
Had a problem with our room lady at reception was great and able to change room straight away
Great customer service from all staff I found everyone to be polite and curtios

Amazing location. Very nice, clean, beautiful and comfy room.

Amazingly relaxing massage, definitely recommend! Team were friendly and we got a glass of prosecco too! 😊 Already booking again for treatments for my birthday with a group of friends - Thank you!

Unbelievable stay at the Dorsett. The location is fantastic, the staff were extremely professional and cheerful. They made our anniversary extra special and even gave us late check out.
B. S.
The receptionist on duty, named Jenna, was so bubbly and welcoming. She looked after us when we had confusions regarding our booking and had an answer for every question we asked. Great customer service!!!
s. r.
The staff were of fine training, especially Mark who give attention to key details and overall it was a very pleasant experience

Off the bat I just want to say that this is the most amazing hotel I have ever visited with the most amazing and caring there could be. my partner and myself booked this hotel for the weekend between the 11th and 14 June 2021 to celebrate our six year anniversary when we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with so much kindness and joy from Natasha the most amazing staff that was there at the time of arrival,we told her about the reason why we came to the hotel and she gave us a little package of chocolates which were amazing. Very quickly she checked us in so we could go about our day and start our mini vacation, when we arrive to the room it was amazing it was on the fifth floor however we really wanted a view a bit higher up in the building so we called in to reception and asked if there was any other room available if not obviously it would’ve been fine. To our luck there was a room available in a corner , which is the dream may I add, so we brought our luggage down change keys and moved to room a 802! This was the moment when we met Harmony also one of the most amazing staff that just made the whole stay even better. Once we arrived to our final room I was amazed by the beauty of the views it was perfect, It had the most amazing views of the walkie-talkie , the Gerking and the surrounding buildings it was amazing breathtaking!
Throughout our visit we ended up developing a very nice relationship with the staff they were the loveliest and so attentive to every detail because we were there to celebrate our six year anniversary on the Sunday 13th which was the date of my anniversary to my surprise my boyfriend had ordered some flowers however we were out while they were delivered and harmony who was the receptionist at the time it was delivered took her time to take the flowers and the balloons to our room so the surprise wouldn’t be ruined and so that the surprise could be even more special.
Honestly I don’t have one complaint to make because everything about my stay in this hotel was perfect the attentive staff the beautiful room the views everything was perfect to the minor details which made a huge difference because the staff were constantly going that mile over to make you feel at home.
So if you are looking for a hotel located in the core of London three steps away from an underground station , Half an hour from most hotspots this is your place this is the hotel you want to becoming too I guarantee you you will not regret it.
Again I told him while I was leaving but I feel as though it is necessary to put it here thank you so much to Harmony and Natasha for making our stay so amazing we will definitely be back and recommend this to absolutely everyone that will hear us say it is amazing.

We had the most fabulous stay at Dorset City Hotel. First of all, Edyta and the whole reception team was amazing and helpful in every way. We spent our honeymoon and prior the wedding a few days at the hotel, and we have been treated very special and with extra care. Especially on the wedding day itself, everyone from the hotel was so helpful and excited, and when we came back in the evening, the room was decorated with a lot of thought and love. I could't have wished for a better hotel to spend the most important days of my life in. The extra care from all staff was extraordinary. Thank you so much! We will be back for our anniversaries! No-nonsense quality hotel. Stayed a few times, to me they get all the basics right. Super clean and comfortable room (albeit small), excellent aircon/heating system and insulation - extremely quiet. Quality in the right places - bedding, toiletries, shower and smart enough design. Staff extremely helpful on reception although always seem to be let down by a slow check in system. Not many frills but rather the effort was spent on the good stuff. Rooftop bar getting scruffy btw.
R. G.
My boyfriend and I had the nicest stay here. The woman at reception, Samantha, went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed! She even got me an umbrella to take out with me as it was raining. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious too. Would 100% stay again!

very clean, modern/stylish, small bathroom, no bfeakfast included, friendly staff. use aldgate tu e station

Nice rooms, reception staff were good, great guy got us up to sky bar on Sunday without queueing, bar was great really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend

Clean nicely appointed rooms. Good food.

Lovely hotel, great staff and great views!

Great location and a comfortable room.
Breakfast was perhaps a little small, but overall good value - would stay again.

I arrived at the hotel and was greeted by a very friendly lady. Nothing was too much trouble. Had drinks in the bar after our evening out. Unfortunately, we couldn't access the rooftop bar due to a private function. Nice room with a very comfy bed
J. P.
Good location but doesn’t look like a 4-star hotel at all. The room was small and the bathroom was tiny. The furniture looked old. We were also disappointed that there was a £20 early check-in charge, which we were not told when we asked one week before our stay.
M. P.
Professional and friendly stuff. The room was very clean. If you are lucky to get a room on a higher floor then the view will be amazing. They offer 24h menu with a really good price. I can only complain that they provided only one toothbrush and not enough toothpaste(I booked room for two). Location is also great. The tube station is literally 10 meters from the hotel. The bus station is also close. The price for the room was also very competitive. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Friendly staff/service and clean room.
Had a great stay! Would recommend.

Absolutely Wonderful!
After having a couple of really disappointing hotel stays in London recently, I wasn't expecting what we got at the Dorsett.
The hotel was beautiful, very elegant with a welcoming reception. The reception staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. We checked in and went through to the bar to grab a drink. The drinks were well made and delicious. The ambiance in the bar was perfect and had we had time, we would have stayed longer.
The room was a superior double. It wasn't the biggest room I've stayed in but it was a reasonable size, especially for London! The room was Wonderful! Beautifully furnished, extraordinarily comfortable bed, sumptuous fabrics on the bed and curtains. We were right by the lift but due to the soundproofing, we weren't disturbed by other guests.
I 100% recommend you stay at this hotel, like me, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

We arrived in London earlier than expected and went to the Dorset to drop off our luggage with the intention of returning later in the day to check-in.
We were greeted with a friendly smile and were told that not only was our room ready for us so could check in early but that we had been upgraded to a suite also! The room was gorgeous, spotless and had great views. Fantastic amenities within the room also. We slept very well and it was extremely quiet.
Although we didn’t dine in the hotel there was plenty of choice in the restaurants.
We went for breakfast directly across the road at Pete’s cafe, a traditional English cafe which was very reasonably priced with great food.
Checking out was very smooth, there was quite a queue but a receptionist came to us and asked if we would like to leave our luggage to pick up later in the day, gave us a receipt and away we went to continue to enjoy our stay.
The hotel is perfectly located next to Aldgate underground station so made traveling about very easy.
We were very impressed with the service we received and will definitely visit again. Thankyou!

The hotel was perfectly situated for our wedding venue. Immediately outside the underground. Check in was very attentive with a member of staff running to the door to assist me with my case, a young lady called Simone, and checked us in …

Defo recommend. Clean. A lot of amenities. Loved it:)

The rooms were nice, although the shower leaked to the bathroom floor.
Hotel staff, not the most accommodating, then Again that’s how UK has become
The restaurant staff - an absolute 2-3 star at max. 4 days that I had breakfast there, they messed up my order each day...
D. O.
Nice rooftop bar at dusk on the 12th floor with great views over the city and tower bridge

Very happy with the management (Mark H) making things right for me and my family. My husband, mother and I along with our 15 month old daughter really enjoyed this hotel. It felt really new, clean, modern and very comfortable for our family. It's located right next to the main Aldgate Station (careful not to be confused with Aldgate East). I will say, food options are very limited around the hotel, especially considering it is near a business district and everything closes down early. We had some issues trying to find baby formula because the Boots would be closed near the hotel. The restaurant downstairs has pretty good food. The breakfast provided by the hotel was delicious, and the staff at the Shikumen were very nice to us. The bathrooms were very clean- which is something I look for every time I book anywhere.

Great Hotel, friendly staff, LOVELY beds, really nice rooms, 24/7 breakfast...

Very good location, just on the top of Aldgate Metro Station. The hotel looks quite small, and also the rooms. I was told we had a superior double room but the double bed was quite small (felt like 160cm wide and less than 2 meters long). Breakfast buffet is good, a la carte breakfast is also good but is limited to one order. Overall it is clean and quite new. Not a lot to say about people working there: some people was very kind and helpful, other not. I would go back just for the good location. Very nice roof top terrace, but also very busy.
A. O.
Lovely hotel, great beds and it has a 24 hour dining area.
A. Z.
Excellent customer service from Jenna
at Reception on several occasions
(Algate road branch)
I'm sure the rest of the hotel staff are great too, but there's is nothing like a warm and friendly welcoming to give me great first impressions! I will definitely look to book in the future.
Kind regards
Alex

My colleague and I were on the business trip and stayed in this hotel. The most amazing thing that it's so close to the subway station Aldgate, really two steps. The staff is friendly and kind.
The room is clean, everything is great.
The breakfast is very delicious.
We were happy to stay in this hotel.
I recommend this place to everybody)

Location was great, prefect for where we going and what we wanted to see.

Lovely hotel is a great location at an amazing price.

This hotel was the best we have been in for awhile. Right next door to the Aldgate Underground entrance made access to the city safe and easy. The rooms were very nice and clean. The rooms had a complimentary cell phones that saved our trip after our phones were not working. Breakfast at both restaurants were excellent and a great way to start the day.
A. M.
Staff at check in/out were very efficient and helpful. Room was clean and modern - lots of gold. Food was good, although the breakfast menu if you've pre-paid for breakfast was a bit limited. Skybar was great and drinks were amazing

Stayed 6 nights here. Very convenient location with Aldgate tube station just below the hotel and other transport options close by as well as cafes and restaurants.Good sized room for comfortable stay. The bathroom was modern and clean. I would definitely stay here again. I am e

Lovely place, room prices are not bad.
Hotel Interior is absolutely amazing.
Very helpful team

Modern upscale hotell next door to the Aldgate subway station. Our premium room had great views of the city with a coffee machine. Comfy beds and rooms well insulated from noise. Small reception area with a 24/7 restaurant.

Recently build and beautiful decoration in a black and glad theme. Loved the Chinese breakfast buffet on the first floor. It had rice porridge, which was great. The hotel has a well equipped gym with views of the city of London, which made it nice to use. The bed was very comfortable. Overall, a pleasant stay. Thanks.
Z. H.
Dorsett City is located right next to the Aldgate Underground station in Zone 1 (the central zone) of the Underground system, so transit to tourist locations is very convenient. The staff was courteous and professional, and the room was nicely set up, the bathroom in particular. I had previously been shopping for fixtures to renovate a bathroom, and having in mind how much research I put into designing a coordinated setup, I was pretty impressed with the design they put together. The bedroom included a phone for local calls, an electric water kettle, a Nespresso machine, a refrigerator, closet, robes. The hotel also has a gym. Overall, it seemed like they had put a good deal of thought into providing a pleasant and convenient stay for their guests.
J. C.
Nice business hotel, close to commercial street with all bars and restaurants. Room is good - queen side bed, bathroom little bit bigger than other business hotels. Staff is attentive. It has a roof top bar with a view at city.
I tried restaurant for dinner it was okay nothing bad but nothing exceptional. Next time I would go to Commercial street.
C. W.
Most impressed with this hotel. Furnished to a high standard. Excellent facilities. Staff extremely helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Being next door to Aldgate tube station was very convenient. Also walking distance to attractions such as Tower Bridge and Sky Gardens. Would highly recommend.
C. J.
Amazing location 10 steps to Aldgate underground station Station (Circle line) which gets you to practically everywhere with 1 transfer. Great room we had a view of the city. Amazing rain shower. 2 restaurants on site and a rooftop bar. Breakfast was very good. Staff super friendly.
T. B.
Fours stars - harsh! The hotel is brilliant, very well located, great views and rooms (ours was an executive) will cater for everything to ensure your comfort. I must mention the staff, especially Robert, who is an absolute asset to this hotel. The breakfast was very much lacking, hence only four stars. The customer service is on a much lower level, the food is standard but very small portions and not necessarily freshly made either. I cannot recommend the breakfast but most definitely give the hotels rooms a try.
S. M.
I chose a slightly larger room and it is nice and clean. Bathroom still a little small but overall comfortable. Great location and only 10 minute walk near Spitalfields for shopping and dining. Close to good Underground access. Good service at bar. Did not try any restaurants though. I would recommend and will stay here again!
D. S.
Fantastic experience. Great and modern rooms, unlike other hotels in London. Competent staff. Very close to the city and walking distance from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Conveniently located 5 meters away from Aldgate tube station (and 1 min away on foot from Aldgate East), great for business and tourists.
M.
Next to the underground. Also buses stop close to the hotel. Around the hotel buzzing with people but in the rooms nice and quiet. Good comfortable beds!
No real disappointments, it is a neat and efficient hotel. It lacks a bit of atmosphere but for atmosphere you should go outside.
W. F.
Comfy hotel right in the City. Our corner room had great full length views in two directions across the City. Curiously one side of the double bed was against a wall and had no night stand. Also the wet room shower flooded the whole bathroom because the floor had been laid incorrectly. But overall very good and an excellent breakfast in the 24 hour restaurant and helpful reception staff.
j. r.
Positives - lovely room with very comfy bed, amazing shower, all areas clean, reception staff very helpful, great location and if you get a room overlooking the gherkin side the views are brilliant.
Negatives - roof top bar sounds great and to get up it feels exclusive however once up there apart from the views it was disappointing. It was a 15minute wait to be served only to be told it had to be from a different part of the bar, there were no drinks menus available but people were drinking what looked like fab cocktails, some people seemed to be getting waitress service and some people were eating but we overheard a couple being told they didn't serve food, a service charge was added to what were already overpriced drinks when the service was non existent but the worst parts were the plastic chairs and loads of people smoking. The doors were all open to create a bigger area but because of this the smoke from outside just cam inside making it not a nice place to be. Such a shame as its got the makings of a great bar but seems to have too much going on and none of it done well.
K. M.
Wonderful and friendly service, and it couldn't be any closer to the train! Lovely hotel, clean and spacious for downtown London. We would definitely stay here again. Added bonus: they had 2 restaurants serving room service, and at least one of them was open 24 hours.

I thought this place was awesome. Rooms on the small side but very comfortable. Great location, wonderful check in experience, very accommodating to our needs. The dim sum is excellent, highly recommend checking it out. Very updated and modern. They might need a bit more housekeeping staff because they don't come to clean your room until very late but that's minor in the overall experience.
И. Б.
Very nice hotel near City London. Good rooms, good people working there and 24hr restaurant. Hotel has 4 starts because they don’t have spa centre, but the price of the room is also smaller than 5 star hotel. I loved the alarm clock with charger in it
A.
Very clean, comfortable, well appointed rooms in an excellent location. Like Dorsett hotels in Asia this one provides a free mobile phone to use in the city if needed. Also, water, coffee, tea and biscuits free in the room. The showers are spacious and have excellent water pressure. The heated mirrors (no fogging up) are an intelligent touch. Staff is a bit overwhelmed at check in and check out and while some are very professional and friendly, others seem to be fed up with their jobs and need an attitude adjustment. A couple of French ladies who were having trouble communicating with the staff asked me to translate for them and the receptionist, instead of saying thanks, seemed pissed off I had taken away her excuse to ignore them on the grounds that she didn't understand what they were asking.

Pros: Great location right next to the Aldgate station. Made traveling so much easier during our stay. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Front desk staff really kind and helpful. Appreciated the free water and cookies each day. We were on the 8th floor and had a nice view.
Cons: housekeeping. We are very hot natured people and asked for just a flat sheet to sleep with at night. Housekeeping kept taking it from our room and we had to keep asking for a new one. One morning we decided to sleep in and left the do not disturb light on and they came in anyway.
Room service was convenient but expensive especially after adding the service charge. Everything is a la carte. So when you order an entree, it doesn’t come with rice as expected. You have to purchase that separately.
They have doorbells on each room. Which is nice until your neighbor has people in and out of their room all night and all you hear is the doorbell all night long.
S. S.
I stayed for a week. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. They offer 2 different breakfast options and I enjoyed both. I would definitely love to stay there in the future as well.

Very nice hotel, 9 min walk from Liverpool station. Staff was very friendly and the room was awesome, Stylish and very clean. Liked the bathroom😁 they also have a Michelin rated Chinese restaurant at the 1st.
floor for those who like dim sum.
Taxi from Oxford street to the hotel cost around 15 GBP. Aldgate station is the neighbour😁

We stayed for three nights in early Aug. The front office managers are v friendly. Robert is one of them. He was so attentive to your request. Others were also helpful to print train tickets for me. Buffet breakfast on first floor is very good especially the dim sum. It is obvious that mgt has put in much efforts in hospitality training and this made my stay v enjoyable.

Average hotel, with usual trendy but boring room, average hotel breakfast.
Nothing really different with other hotel around.
Maybe the beautiful views on upper floors is worth something and bit better than average hotel views.
The bar is clearly worth it with an amazing views and a very nicer terasse
Go there for: an end of the week drink at the bar with your favourite colleagues.

This hotel is in a great location, directly next to the Aldgate train station and in walking distance to both Shoreditch and the financial district. The room is comfortable, with a good bed and shower. It's also nice and quiet through the night. I only wish the water would go hotter.

Really nice hotel, great location literally right next to Aldgate Tube Station and a couple min walk into Aldgate East - can easily walk into the City (Monument, Bank, Tower Hill all walkable). The beds are comfortable room is a good size with a decent Bluetooth Alarm Clock, Big TVs can connect your phone to view a logged in YouTube or cast your phone to the TV etc, hotel has a really nice restaurant for Breakfast and a 24 hour gym, The only thing i didnt like was the fact there was no water provided in the room (should be for the price)
M.
Hotel is well situated, close to the London bridge and other famous landmarks within walking proximity. The staff is very pleasant and the rooms are very spacious. The fitness center is small, but very clean overlooking the street. Would def recommend!
J.
The rooms are small but comfortable. The restaurant is great for lunch I thought. Although I did wake up before 6am only to find the restaurant was a mad house at 545 am from the late night crowd :) breakfast was good and staff was accommodating and friendly.
E. R.
This could easily be a four star plus hotel.. great staff.. modern rooms.. very nice restaurant.. roof top bar with good views.. my only complaint is the location. The Eastside of London is a little gritty.. a few more homeless and beggars to bother you.. a little daunting at night..
T. M.
The hotel is modern and clean. The staff are polite and helpful. We arrived early and they found a room available and allowed early check-in, it's a very thoughtful arrangement.
P. R.
Great new hotel, contemporary style. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was well equipped, including Amazon shower, coffee machine and a android type phone with free calls and internet. Two options for breakfast, buffet is probably better (includes Dim Sum)
R.
Superb location right next to the tube station. The room was clean and nicely decorated, although it was incredibly cold in the bathroom. Service wasn't so good, but would stay again for the room and location.
M. P. W.
Great staff and service. I only had ONE issue and that was with the bedding. The quilt cover is man-made fiber so it doesn't breathe. You can turn the AC down low but it's still like a sauna under the covers. Kick the covers off and you'll freeze. Other than that it was a great stay. I don't sleep very well anyway so....Will be there again soon.
C. B.
PROS
Excellent hotel and very courteous staff
The rooms are excellent and comfortable
The main restaurant is open 24 hrs and the prices are very reasonable
The front desk is very responsive to any issues you may have
The location is PERFECT. It is located 10 ft from the Aldgate London Tube Underground statton. It was SO convenient to be able exit the Tube and turn right and you are at your Hotel
CONS
None
F. E.
Nice hotel right next to Aldgate station. 10 mins walk to liverpool Street station. Check in was painless and the room itself was clean with a nice view of the Gherkin and Walkie Talkie.
I. M.
Nice hotel; close to tower bridge so nice and easy to get to and from; rooms are very nice, staff is super helpful. I left something in the room and they were brilliant in getting it back. Good recommendation for this part of London, I'll be staying here again in the future!
C. J.
Great place.....could have a little more on the tourist information side but found some good restaurants and the London underground and bus terminal is across the street. Just needed to have more information about these services. Within walking distance of tower bridge and the tower of London. In hotel restaurant was great for breakfast.
L. C.
We loved our stay at the Dorsett! Being literally next to the tube station was so amazing. The on-site food was great, the sky bar was really fun and it was very quiet and enjoyable.
S.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, with very friendly and polite staff. The room was immaculate. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
No negatives for me.
S.
Our best decision for London. Underground station directly next door / Tower Bridge only quarter hour by foot.
Employees very helpful. According to free rooms we were able to check-in already before 11am.
We would choose the hotel again for our private travel.
G. R.
Modern and stylish hotel. The rooms are a really good size for London, with well designed interiors. Comfy beds, squashy pillows, decent shower, next to Aldgate station, or if you visit on a weekend like we did when Aldgate station was closed for maintenemce, it's a sub-9-minute walk to Liverpool Street. The Sky Bar has amazing views and good drinks, and the staff are helpful to a fault.
R. G.
Really nice hotel right next door to Aldwych underground station and easy to get to from DLR, we used it as a 4 day stop to get around the sights. Breakfast good and about the same quality and price as other local cafes etc. Great views from the rooftop bar, pricey though be prepared.
B. R.
An excellent experience, as soon as we walk in the hotel, the staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The amenities like the smartphone to use around the city was surprising and the food in the restaurants of the hotel were very very good. Highly recommended to stay here anytime you come to London.
I. P.
Not happy. No bath as I asked, shower needed fixing to get cold water and to get wastewater to flow away, no teaspoons in the room. Not a single EU plug, had to ask from reception for a 5£ deposit. Breakfast was mediocre - scrambled eggs non-eatable, no fresh juice.
B.
The duty manager Simone. She was great. She upgraded us so we could get a room quicker as it was not ready when we arrived.
The room was not ready when we arrived. But the Manager sorted the issue out straight away.
G. E.
Good business hotel, comfortable rooms. great location for the City. But recognise that the hotel has only just opened and adjust you expectations accordingly. If all you need is a place to sleep then at £137 per night it is a good deal.
R. A.
The Dorsett City is a lovely boutique hotel adjacent to Aldgate underground station and within walking distance of many sights including the Tower Bridge. Rooms are cozy but the amenities make up for everything with a heated mirror on the bathroom ( doesn’t fog up), rain shower (love it), mood lighting, bath robes, fridge, Nespresso and a programmable safe.
There are two restaurants in the building. On the first floor a 24/7 chain VC offers an interesting menu spanning a full English breakfast to penne Aribata for dinner. After a long travel day it was a delight to have a reasonably priced meal with many options. Alcoholic beverages are available. After dinner head up to the the rooftop bar for a stunning view of London’s skyline. House/EDM was played loudly on the weekend night I visited the bar. Excellent drinks and killer views.
Staff were gracious, accommodating and courteous. I am a native Angelino, (Los Angeles) and duly impressed with London’s cosmopolitan nature. I am certain that the Dorsett City hotel set the stage for my experience.
P. A.
Really good hotel in the heart of London. Really busy, but the staff were on top of it all the way. Good room and they have this device called 'handy'. It's a mobile phone that comes with your room which you can take around. Fantastic concept for international travellers as you have unlimited minutes for local calls and internet service to go. International calls are also allowed to specific destinations.
Best of all for me, was the VQ Aldgate restaurant. Great food, great prices and open ALL DAY!
I recommend this location for anyone coming to the heart of London.
M. F. J.
We stayed there for 4 days, we came from Paris, on vacation. Although we did eat at a few other places around town, the food at the hotel was BY FAR, the best! The rooms were NICE, very up to date. There were 2 men at the hotel that made the stay even more special. Be sure to look for them and tell them Hi! Dennis, who was out waiter most all of the time, he works the over nights and loves what he does. He was ALWAYS nice and went above and beyond his normal duties. He even came
Out, the morning we were leaving and said bye to us, very good guy! The second is Daniel, I believe the Manager of the resturant. This guy is second to none in personality! He is EXTREMELY nice and in just the few days we were there, I figured out he was a fun person to be around! I can't say enough good things about the whole staff at the hotel, but these 2 guys were the cherry on top! If all employees were like these guys, buisness would ALL succeed! Thanks to all,of the employees there, hope to see you again, someday!
H. D.
Amazing experience. Definitely I’ll be back to stay longer. Service and amenities are superb. VQ restaurant in the lobby is great, the service and food is exceptional, our waiter Luca is an excellent professional. I highly recommend this hotel.
S. S.
Superb location. Just next to underground station. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Enjoyed every minute of my stay.
L. G.
Our room was lovely. There’s great views out side of the city. No problems with the service, and had a meal in the restaurant which was peaceful and delicious.
A.
perfect hotel, comfy room
the staff didn’t care about a problem with the room service. It’s very important to feel safe and get help from the hôtel who is responsible for the confortable stay of their guests
a. m. (.
No parking near thats why im rating it 3 starts, otherwise its good
M. A.
Great place! Super helpful. Beautiful rooms. Shower is amazing. They even have Handy phones to use during your stay. Definitely worth staying here
m. m.
New hotel. Right next to Aldgate tube station. Although it's next to the street and next to the tube station I never noticed any sound disturbances at night.
Breakfast buffet is decent, but the menu is never changed and staying there for a longer period of time you are able to anticipate what's for breakfast.
K.
Lovely room, very clean and very comfortable bed. Great spot as well.
Breakfast wasn’t the best but overall a lovely stay.
M. P.
Fairly standard hotel. Rooms are good spec and clean. Service is polite and functional. Doesn't really stand out for anything but does what it says on the tin
T. S.
Great hotel!!! The staff was very friendly and the rooms were excellent. Great area and located right next to the Underground which made it very easy to get around the city. I will be back!!!!
K. A.
Was very pleased with our stay. Great location! Right on the circle line! Gets you straight to most of the sites in the city! We never got to see the rooftop bar as it was closed every time we had the chance to go up.
L. K.
Lovely hotel, great decor, comfortable beds, friendly staff and brilliant food. Also great location for business district, stone throw away from iconic buildings like the Gerkin and Walkie Talkie and hotel right next to Aldgate Tube Station, 15 min tube ride from Euston.
J. O.
Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Really friendly staff and nice tidy rooms and good value for the location in central London. One good touch in the rooms is the alarm clock with charging leads available for most major phones (iphone and android).
L. S.
This was the best service and professionalism of any hotel ever including the Marriot. I was there from August 11 - 19. They were very supportive in helping me with directions to all the places I visited. Any request was met with a codial interest and concern for assisting. I had a wonderful time in London and the Dorsett City Hotel added to my enjoyable exerience. I would highly reccomend this hotel!
M. A.
Highly recommend! The hotel is situated right next to Aldgate station which provides easy access to the rest of London. Additionally, the rooms were spacious, clean and very well designed.
J. M.
3 stars because the taps in the toilets on 1st floor (conference rooms) require an advice notice to explain how they work - they aren't IR controlled, there's a hidden lever at the top which you have to lift and then rotate for temperate control. Unfortunately after they've been cleaned they lever is lined up flush with the rest of the tap rendering it invisible under the weak lighting conditions in the bathroom.
T. M.
Lovely hotel located very conveniently for exploring Spitalfields and the East End. The staff were excellent, the gym was small but well-equipped, the room was very comfortable.
A. D.
The hotel is in more of the business district. Located adjacent to two popular streets - Minories and Mansell and right next door to the Aldgate Station (literally). The location is within walking distance to a convenience store, Subway, fish and chips, Chinese and Indian restaurants-property also has two restaurants on-site that serve breakfast. There was a slight issue checking in (early arrival) it was resolved after some time. CAUTION: Be mindful if your plans change unexpectedly and you need to leave early (not very accommodating). Also be VERY sure to list all parties in your group or you might find it difficult to update or change info on-site (thereby impacting access to breakfast, etc.).
C. K.
Beautiful hotel immediately adjacent to Aldgate tube stop. Very modern and clean. Hotel bar on top floor with great views. Breakfast very disappointing.
c. r.
Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful staff. fully recommended.
c. g.
Modern, clean rooms. Convinient location.
Great service! Simone at the front desk was very nice and corteus.
The Restaurants have Excellent food at affordable prices. Luca our server at VQ was great. Mary was great too.
I highly recommend this Hotel.
S. S.
A really good and convenient hotel right next to Aldgate station. The room is nice and decent sized. Very good value and very happy overall with the experience
D.
Bathroom was great. A lovely shower.
The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in.
Check in & out staff were very friendly and helpful.
L. W.
Great hotel great location, very modern clean and the little touches of cupcakes in the room was just a lovely little treat. Giant tv screen, the room was well thought out and designed perfectly to utilise the space available.
A.
Great views both from the room and the roof top bar, clean and comfy room and beautiful bathroom.
Little bit pricey but perfect for an anniversary/birthday.
J. H.
Room is small, but very nice. Very modern. Employees have been very nice. Only minor complaint would be slow elevators, but that's looking for issues. Convenient location as well.
P. M.
Dorsett is a great solution to stay near Whitechapel area. Tidy, clean, basic rooms are quite small and dark. Service is just OK. Unless you don't find a special offer, prices are quite high, probably due to the fact that's close to the city. Very well located, right on the side of a tube stop.
D. F.
We stayed there for two nights and enjoyed it. The hotel has a very good price value for a city hotel in London. Especially if you travel over the city airport. From there you can get fast and easily to the hotel. Take the DLR till the bank station and switch there on the circle line (monument station). This connection brings you direct to the Dorsett and takes you only 30 mins.
The rooms are comfortable, clean and the bed is homelike. The staff helps with the heart and is very friendly. In the area you find several shops, bars, pubs and restaurant.
If you wanna enjoy a local coffee shop, go to dulce coffee shop. Great food and lovely service.
You don‘t have much time, grab one take away at black sheep coffee at the corner of the tube station aldgate.
M. R.
This was my first stay at the Dorsett and I was very pleased. Having previously stayed at the two Grange hotels nearby, the Dorsett was refreshingly modern with well thought out facilities and an ideal location for working in the City.
S.
Great hotel, well-located (less than 10 steps to Aldgate Tube station). Service was great, bed was comfortable, room amenities were plentiful.
A. V.
The reception staff didn't know how to use prepaid cards for hotel charges. Even after showing them the SMS of money being deducted from the card, they kept on swiping the card. All along, I was given various excuses, sometimes being told that the transaction was not approved as I did not enter the correct currency while entering the pin (what in the world was that!!!) or that the card had a problem. Eventually, they admitted that the money was received but I had to go through so much of agony as the blame was solely put on me. Advice to travellers - ensure that the transactions are done in front of you and you have the proof handy.
M. R.
Nicely situated in financial district near Tower of London and subway station. There is a bar on the rooftop and 24hrs restaurant. Bed was comfortable and room fairly clean.
C.
Amazing hotel, with attention to detail like bath robes, elemis toiletries. Had breakfast in the buffet restaurant, which was lovely to. Would highly recommend.
Nothing.
P. B.
friendly staff....not in a good neighbourhood in my opinion....close to The Tower of London and tube stop. We had to travel farther away to the places we wanted to see.We were approached by beggers on a daily basis day and night staff at this hotel did not think there was a problem
V. S.
An absolute gem of a hotel in the hub of the City, great restaurant and second to none staff and service. I stay here every week on business and never fail to get a warm welcome. First class Dorsett City!
T. J.
Nice stay, nice rooms
C. W.
Everything was good about it. The room, food, location and staff. Steps from the tube and an amazing view from the rooftop bar. Great spot all the way around!
M. T.
Lovely hotel and well looked after. Robert on front desk was the nicest and most attentive hotel concierge I've met. great customer service.
S. O.
Clean, great location (next door to the tube station!) Friendly staff, rooms are modern and comfortable. Highly recommended!
P. M.
Very good location, literally next door of the subway. Pretty modern rooms and very clean. The rooms aren't huge but pretty decently sized for such a location.
A. S.
Excellent, modern hotel in central London. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Only minor criticism is the number of switches to turn out all the lights!
K. F.
Lovely clean room. All amenities. Roof top bar is sensational. VQ restaurant v good. Worth the money.
M. M.
Very pleasant stay in London, rooftop bar, elegant dim sum, and excellent indoor and outdoor 24/7 restaurant on ground level. Right next to tube, easy access to whole city. 5 minute walk to London Bridge and Tower Bridge.
W. S.
Roger the desk guy was very friendly and gave us great service. Room was very nice and bed and sheets comfy and soft.super location just off of subway stop
J.
Good location, very smart, very nice bathroom, never had any food there.
To get into bed I had to squeeze along the window, as I am not fit, it was difficult.
D. A. (.
Lovely rooms, quiet and comfortable. Quiet corridors too, which makes a difference. Very expensive for what it is though, a rate without breakfast.
L. B.
Great place, not in the poshest areas but well central for city visitors (when travelling for work). I would not recommend this for tourist but definitely for work. Nice views from the roof top bar.
S. T.
A stunning hotel and very attentive staff. Room was immaculate, and the food was world class. Looking forward to staying again.
G. O.
Nice hotel - very central location. Beautiful rooftop bar, modern and clean rooms (shower was smelling, though)
E.
Clean and comfortable.
Service could have been friendlier, no one was rude or anything but not much customer service experienced during our stay.
B.
Great hotel, small and simple room, but not claustrophobic as some can be in the city. Late night bar, close to lots of entertainment.
I.
Beautiful design and in a good area.
Service generally very slow - had to call reception three times to retrieve luggage and it took almost an hour.
A. G.
Wow wow and again wow. Love this Dorset city roof bar. This is very special place to meet up with somebody to enjoy time, chill out, get the city view and sip glass of wine or beer together. Just love itxxx
C. F.
I had a back massage that was amazing 🤣😃
E.
Nice hotel with a great rooftop bar.
Service and room is good.
Can reccomend to stay here.
S. d.
Good service, but we couldn't get on the rooftop bar, for 3 days.
I thought that i dressed cheap, but they say there were party's up there.
H. P.
Good place close to the subway. Good value for money if you book early. Reception was chaotic but after it everything was fine.
n. R.
Amazing staff and had a great stay!
R. R.
Leaves abit to be desired cheap and cheap I didn’t like it
C.
Enjoyed my stay but rooms could do with a fresh lick of paint and the breakfast buffet doesn't have green tea which is a big deal for me! 😋
L. S.
Great hotel, great views. Food in the chinese restaurant was superb and Jin Bo Law on the 14th floor is fantastic.
P. O.
Good location. upper rooms have a nice view. good bed. breakfast just ok. Would go back
R. H.
Room and service were both fantastic! The breakfast was a little disappointing though. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the place was super comforting!
M.
Price and location.
Breakfast not knowing there was two floors felt like a second class citizen people coming of the street got more food on there plate and a cold shower in the morning.
E. S.
Nice located hotel. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms. Good breakfast.
M. A.
Business hotel. Good breakfast options (buffet and a-la-cart). Bedrooms have really good showers and beds are comfy.

Dinner at the Shikumen restaurant. Nice meal at a nice and new venue. Seems some decoration still in progress e.g. no mirrors in the ladies toilets...
