While the staff has tried to do everything possible to make our stay great, the hotel just does not live up to a 4 star hotel. The rooms are small, paint peeling off everywhere.
During the pandemic they should have used the time to update facilities and renovate some of the rooms.
Breakfast had enough options but again, would expect the same from a 3 star hotel.
Coffee wasn't good, hot chocolate way too sweet.
Overall, I've had more pleasant stay at 3 star hotels and would not choose this hotel again for our next stay in London.

A superb hotel, centrally located. I was greeted with a warm welcome, friendly staff, really clean common areas. The room was comfortable a spacious, service from the bar and restaurant was efficient.
I would recommend this hotel and book again for another trip to London.

Lovely stay at a conveniently located hotel in Central London just a short walk from Holborn Tube. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and shower worked well. Good selection of tea & coffee in the room. Room safe available. Staff were friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Worth a visit.

We go here for our private club meals and it's a short walk from our clubhouse on great queen street. They staff are attentive and helpful. They are polite and professional. I enjoy our meals here, they could be a bit bigger but they do well here from our members. We got the basement last time and I was surprised as it was so big compared to the smaller more cost dining rooms. They served jerk chicken or fish. The starter was a salad and desert chocolate pudding. The wine is better than most venues. I enjoy going here as I have had worse dining locations in London. I would advise this hotel as they are easy to travel to, staff are friendly and food good. Please press like if you enjoyed my review. Thank you so much.

We had a 3 night stay.
Cons-
The rooms was much smaller than was told. Bed was as soon as you enter the room, no walk way, no seating. Bathroom was very small. The vanity mirror stayed on all night which was a pain. Lights was falling out the celling. Our window faced a back ally and air cons fans. Through the night it was quite noisy as we heard a constant hum through the night. We was told the bed was a queen but felt and looked like a small double.
Pros-
Bed was comfy, warm cookies on arrival, beautiful clean reception area, rooms was clean. Not hard to find rooms everything was signed posted clearly. Staff was friendly and polite. We got free slippers and dressing gowns. Didn't hear the people next door.
I would recommend only if your staying for a night, if your going for a relaxing weekend trip pick somewhere else. X

Great place. Staff were all really pleasant especially the lady at breakfast unfortunately didn't get her name she was so friendly and helpful. The beds were comfy and breakfast choice was really good.

The Hotel was in a good location for the West End theatre's. It was a 15 min walk to the 'Novello' Theatre (Mamma Mia!) & a 20 min walk to Covent Garden. The British Museum is only a 5 minute walk away & there's a Wetherspoon's pub 'The Shakespeare' a 5 min walk away too.
The staff were lovely, very welcoming & helpful. The warm cookies & bottled water on arrival was a lovely touch.
We were upgraded to a Queen room at no extra charge, which was really spacious & clean. The bed was really comfortable & it had a good dressing table/desk to do hair and make up at or work from. The bathroom had complimentary toiletries & the shower was powerful & refreshing which was a bonus.
It's located on a busy road but has good sound proofing.
Overall a wonderful stay in a great hotel. 👍

Overall I enjoyed my stay. My room was spacious enough, the bed was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast offered great variety of dishes. Not to mention the location. Close to the tube, bus, train. On the negative side however the room, my room at least (503) need a better, more detailed cleaning. I found beverage stains on the wall, the ac cover is very dusty and the shower head need descaling. I might consider book this hotel again during my next trip to London, but bit more attention to details is needed.

The hotel is very nice, as a gold member I was upgraded to a small king room which was very appreciated. The room was lovely and my girlfriend was very happy. The staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast gave lots of options and was very good. Only complaint was that room service did not visit the room after our first night, I would have hoped some of the items would have been refreshed. Otherwise a really decent stay.
M. T.
Good location, polite and attentive staff throughout.
I was lucky to have an upgrade to a King Deluxe which was of new decor and inviting. Room was clean with plenty of complimentary bathroom products.
Bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast was of a good quality and huge variety.

Stayed here over the weekend with family members. The location was fantastic, the staff were all friendly and couldn’t help us enough. They were there to help us whatever our needs. The rooms were clean. Would absolutely recommend staying here and will be booking again in the future.

The location and ease of everything was great. I wish I knew ahead of time that there is COVID testing right in the hotel. The room is tiny but every well planned out with everything you could need. And the bed is super comfortable.
D. S.
A lovely hotel. The staff are attentive and accommodating. The room we had was clean, spacious and quiet. It's a pleasant 15 minute walk to Oxford street, just 10 minutes to Covent Garden so its location is first rate.

My husband was having a meeting and meal at the Doubletree West End so we booked a stay. Check in was very good and I was able to leave my case as the room was not quite ready. When checking in at 5 pm. was offered the complimentary cookies and water. Was also offered an upgrade for £16 but this proved to be very disappointing - the room was in the basement and next to the services which proved very noisy. I was told there would be bath robes and slippers but these were not in the room. The Bar staff were very slow and not one of them had a smile.
I ordered a pizza which was delicious and very hot but my husband said their meal for their meeting was disappointingly bad.
When my husband returned and was going to bed we notice a stain on the pillowcase. breakfast was chaotic - we queued for nearly 10mins and the lady trying to seat everyone was very friendly and seemed to be doing everything.
It was only a one night stay and had been so looking forward to this stay but was left a little disappointed as expected far more for the price of the room
R. E.
Great location, friendly and attentive staff. Shower in room only partially worked (rainfall head don’t work, button stuck in), bathroom lights stayed on all the time, bathroom lock broken, lift mirrors cracked, bar sofas threadbare and only one espresso cup/pod in a king room (no milk or tea either). Overall, a good hotel but getting tired and lacking some attention to detail.
d. k.
The hotel is well located and the rooms are comfortable, if needing a little TLC. Our bathroom door was very faulty and had to be forced open - if I had been in there on my own, I don't know how I would have got out at all. The bar was cosy but understocked - flat tonic, limited selection of gin, no cocktails. Perhaps supply chain issues? But on the plus side, the staff were all lovely, working really hard and the bed was very comfortable.
M. M.
Great location but disappointed with the room itself. The room was tiny and definitely could have done with a more thorough clean as there were visible cobwebs and the carpet really needed a vacuum. Bathroom amenities were questionable - body lotion and conditioner but no body wash or shampoo? Hotel needs a bit of TLC. Welcome cookies are always a bonus.
S. D.
I had a nice two night stay at this hotel. Room was clean and service was good. The room was a bit smaller then I would have liked. Overall a nice experience but not sure if its more than 3 stars.
V. C.
Food was lovely ,staff really helpful. BUT the room was not that good .coffee stanes of bedside cabinets the headboard the pvc was pealing off ,overall pretty worn ,dont know if i would go back .
I.
Lovely hotel and a great example of the brand. Friendly staff, nice decor and comfortable room made for a pleasant stay (single night). Buffet breakfast was nice, though hotel coffee fails to get better no matter where in the world!
K. H.
Avoid room #251! Stayed here for 1 night during a work trip and got put into a run-down room with threadbare carpet, flaking wood panels and generally tired appearance.
After informing reception that the room is below standard for the west end of London, they moved me to #352 which was a beautiful, newly renovated room. With all the threads in the carpet and modern features.
Scoring 3* because the reception were friendly and helpful but the Hilton hotel shouldn’t be putting guests in rooms of that standard.
J. M.
Nice Hotel.
Went there for a meal with some friends and the food was very good.
A but pricey in the bar but what you would expect at London Pricing I guess.
Staff were excellent though and very happy.
Overall, a good experience
N. S.
This is a very popular hotel. I have had 2 experiences regard poor maintenance in the rooms. Otherwise I really do enjoy staying here.
T. K.
3 stars rating due to the fact, found a dirty towel on arrival. Restaurant messed up our order twice, and then had the cheek to charge 12.5% service charge!!! Bed uncomfortable and then sink leaked all over the bathroom floor. Hotel itself lovely and clean, breakfast was fantastic and the staff friendly and helpful.
S. P.
Came to this hotel for a weekend stay in London to take in some shows room was spacious and the beds where like clouds. Fabulous breakfast in the morning there is also a lovely Italian and a cosy little pub a stones throw away which was also nice. The hotel is located about 3-4 minute walk away from Holborn Underground which we used a lot to get back and forth. We also used the restaurant one night after a long day out which was also fantastic. Staff were very welcoming would thoroughly recommend staying here.
C. W.
Lovely hotel comfortable beds. However room was very small and fans outside the window kept us awake all night
S. V.
It’s been some time from I’ve been to this hotel I had a groupon little problem with my code but it got scanned get settled my date didn’t like wine but was ok to have a beer no extra charge the food was so good I loved it , definitely love to go back x

The young man on reception greeted us with a very friendly smile. We were in London with very good friends to celebrate my wifes 60th birthday. The young man was very pleasant and welcoming which to my mind is very important. He even looked us up to sat “hello” and asked if all was to our satisfaction. The hotel was very clean, modern and in a great location. Room was excellent, bar was grand, down side was it closed before the 1230 deadline which prevented a cheeky nightcap at 1215. We would certainly come back to this hotel. Good VFM in my opinion
T. w.
This hotel and its staff have been fantastic. My stay was exactly what myself and my wife needed and the hotel did not disappoint. Breakfasts are great and the main food is outstanding. The bar tender Sheriff and the waiter Silvio are absolute gents and they look after your every needs, top job fellas. All the other staff are super friendly too what a great place. I’m already looking forward to booking my next stay
M. B.
Great hotel, great breakfast. One thing…. The lifts do not like floor 4, they refused to go there and at one point the lift seemed to get stuck, which was a very scary 2 minutes, had to press the alarm button, which didn’t get a response, which scared us even more. It did start working after 2 minutes, but that was a horrid 2 minutes. Didn’t use the lifts again.
K. L.
My experience at this hotel was average, there was two tacky large marks on the headboard and the wardrobe door was hanging off. This left the vanity light on all night, I did report this to the reception and the concierge had a go at repairing this but we had to sleep with the light on. Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment, not enough staff. Getting a table was a free for all, I had to queue four times to get a coffee as the machine had broken. Also finding the crockery was like a game of hide and seek.
Saying that, I found the staff polite and helpful. Also the prices in the bar and restaurant were in keeping with the area.
V. I.
Decent hotel! However, We were staying two nights and during second night, that’s what we found under the bad :(
But everything else was good enough, just housekeeping need to be more careful
W. T.
Good hotel, well located for theatres in the West End. Clean functional room with air condition and comfy bed. Bath room was okay but it was a bit tricky to get in and out the bath/shower combo without being careful. Interesting check in experience using app, unlocking door with Hilton app but lacked a bit of the in person check in experience with information about breakfast times and what time to check out. Pricing upon booking and when checking out did not match, very confusing especially if you are trying to hit thresholds for American Express card offers.
J. P.
Booked a superior room, very spacious and clean, no cups/tea/coffee facilities in the room apart from a kettle had to ask at reception. Lack of storage and the bed is quite hard. Great location and staff are friendly.
s. t.
Stayed two nights in a room for work. Room was on the first floor, front of the hotel which is on a very busy London Rd. Didn't sleep a wink for both nights! Also, for a Hilton and the price per night should have nicer and bigger rooms. I've stayed in better Hiltons (Jamaica and Bournemouth!), that said, it was clean & the breakfast was nice.
M. O.
I would say it's quite standard. The rooms are clean but for some things a renovation would be definitely improve the experience.
For a short business trip it's okay but for vacation with your partner I would search for another hotel in the area.
R. R.
Well located connected for West End Holborn Camden etc very central..£184 room only for sat 13th Nov booked 4 days in advance so maybe cheaper earlier.
Reception bar areas very relaxing and beers on draught all drinks available as good bar area, complimentary Crisps given. Nice.
Complimentary water and warm cookies also on arrival..touch.
Rooms smaller than other DT Hiltons but central London so to be expected.
Light switches doors needed some cleaning also no fridge in room, asked and was delivered no issues.
Mandatory £50 added to room as policy refunded in 5-6 days not so sure about that.
Overall will return as location is excellent.
S. H.
Excellent hotel. Good location. Great price for a one night stay. Excellent breakfast choice in the morning . Easy check in and out. No complaints at all. Would definitely use again .
F. S.
Good site to walk to West End theatres. Good sized rooms, clean, and helpful staff. Breakfast fine but a bit lukewarm and can't understand why you serve hot food on cold plates!
K. S.
Hotel is fine. Good location and food OK. Plenty of good restaurants nearby - particularly Italian. Bar prices are ridiculous though. Suggest the Weatherspoons down Holborn? Comfortable reception and bar area. Staff pleasant enough but service not what you would expect from a central London hotel. A little disappointing
V. M.
I have stayed at this hotel several times before, I am a HH member. Reservation was fine. I checked in online and selected a room that was confirmed about 4 hours before I arrived at the hotel, to be told my room was not ready!! They allocated a "superior" Queens room one floor below - this was disappointing and not what I had paid for! The AC was terrible, room was tiny - not even a bottle of water for a Silver Member!!! I did not call reception as I was in a hurry to meet other people - two other rooms I booked and paid for, for my guests. Late at night, I called to request a wake up call for 8am on 4th Sept. - this did NOT happen, no wake up call.
This was not good experience at a Hilton Hotel.
C. N.
Amazing hotel everywhere was spotlessly clean, helpful, polite staff.Amazing room will definitely be back
R. C.
Fantastic experience - great central location, spacious, clean rooms, very helpful staff. Massive thanks to Elias for making my stay so wonderful. 5 stars!
H. P.
Got an upgrade as I'm a Diamon member. Large superior room. Breakfast was ace - even black pudding. The automatic pancake maker has to be seen too!
A. N.
Rooms are a little on the small side, but not terribly tiny. Excellent location for exploring London via foot or tube.
J. P.
Great stay, perfectly clean room and wonderful breakfast. Would not hesitate to return next time in London
J. M.
Great atmosphere from incredibly helpful staff! Lovely room.
k. l.
Had a lovely stay for the night, staff were lovely and even got an upgrade which made the stay even better, breakfast was excellent, room was cleaned and ready at 3, really couldn't fault the stay, don't pay attention to negative reviews and make your own mind up as we had an excellent experience, really had a good time, thank you!
A. Z.
Stayed twice. First room was not the best. Second room was wonderful. Service was great both visits.
s. m.
Visited for a private dining event.
Be aware that the hotel bar prefers non cash payment for drinks.
S. M.
Thoroughly pleasant hotel in Bloomsbury/Holborn area of London. Walking distance to Oxford Street and Covent Garden. Staff are very polite and professional, the hotel has a pleasant interior
A. R. W.
Clean hotel, lovely restaurant, and modern fire place for drinks and meals. Clean rooms and nice food
D.
We had afternoon tea here. It was nice enough, staff friendly, clean but for £25 each there wasn't much for your money.
K. B.
Comfortable room. Good selection at breakfast. Ideally situated for visiting London
W. H.
Just arrived smart looking hotel quick and easy to book in great rooms more to follow day one
R. S.
Ideal location, super staff and scrumptious breakfast. Only negative was the bedroom size - space between the bed and the wall was very narrow. Would use again.
A. H.
Overall it was a pleasant experience, with a few hiccups in the beginning. I opted for a guest room with breakfast included for 2 nights, however I was upgraded eventually to a king suite on the 5th floor with a great view.
Bed was great, very comfortable. Shower did a decent job, good water pressure. Coffee making facilities were what you would expect. Breakfast was a delight, an option between continental or English breakfast was on offer although reasonable requests other things didn't seem to be a problem.
All staff had masks on at all times and when handing over things they put on gloves so that the would be minimal contact made.
Full Review...
On arrival I was informed I had been given a complimentary upgrade to a queen suite, which was a pleasant surprise, however when I got into the room, the air conditioning was making loud bubbling noises that would certainly affect my ability to sleep well, and also some areas of the room definitely had not been cleaned, one example would be the fan grate in the bathroom had months worth of dust build up on it. Another issue was no anti-bacterial soap in the room.
After relaying these issues to reception they promptly sent up someone to clean the fan and soap, however although they brought soap, it was not anti-bacterial, and I was informed they do not have any anti-bacterial soap for the rooms, which was highly surprising, as we are still in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
After sorting out these issues the air conditioning noise couldn't be rectified anytime soon, so the member of staff went away to see if he could find any other rooms with better air conditioning noise levels. He returned 20 minutes later to give me another upgrade to their king deluxe suite, this sorted out the air conditioning problem instantly, however this room hadn't been cleaned well at all, with the signature dust build up on the bathroom fan, as well as dust on the bed headboard and dusty carpet behind some chairs.
However I could live with this as the room itself was amazing, a lovely view of some luscious green trees giving you plenty of privacy from neighbouring flats, and a lovely scene to wake up to.
Finally the breakfast was great, I opted for the English breakfast both mornings, and enjoyed it. The coffee was probably the highlight of the morning, excellent coffee provided, couldn't get enough of it.
S. S.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room and all public places were very clean.
D. S.
The hotel was in a great location. My only issue was that our room was very small. I did ask for an upgrade, for which I offered to pay, but did not get one.
D. P.
Great location for West End.
Beds a little firm for my taste, but very clean throughout.
D. W.
Great location very near to Holborn and Russel Square tube station. We actually walked back from after a show on Shaftsbury Ave in about 20 mins in the evening and felt safe.Hotel was welcoming and let us check in an hour early.Breakfast was good, plenty of choice.
Room was very comfortable and clean with everything we needed. We didn't use the bar as we were out alot but it looked very nice.Would definitely stay here again if visiting London.
G. M.
Absolutely LOVED our stay in this delightful hotel. The Staff there are superb!
C. W.
Had a enjoyable stay room was spotless, staff were so pleasant and helpful.
C. A.
Lovely hotel, very clean and very good Covid protocols in place. The staff were very welcoming. The hotel is about 15min walk to theatres and restaurants altho there is a whetherspoons within 5 mins. It is within walking distance to the main shopping areas. The rooms at the hotel are nice, very clean altho the mattress was a bit firmer than I am use to but still slept ok. I would defo recommend this hotel if u dont mind walking around London. It is about 20-30 min walk to most places
S. R. L. R.
Small but well appointed room. Very comfortable bed. Slept well.
S. A.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay , only one thing that let it down was the fire alarm sounding at 4:30 am on our last morning, and everyone going down to lobby to find it was a false alarm and the only information that was given from other guests was hearsay that someone had had a shower and the steam set smoke alarm off !! Other than that everything was perfect will definitely be returning
N. D.
Good hotel and a great breakfast buffet. The room was very small….
L. W.
Food was good but only just warm enough to eat, not worth £45 for 3 courses.
R. P.
Room was clean and ready when I arrived. Convenient location for central London. Nice self service breakfast buffet.
D. S.
Great hotel, reasonably priced for London, modern and close to theatres bars and dining venues
M. R.
Staff friendly, but gentleman behind the bar needs some training with pouring of drinks. Rooms a tad dated but very clean and with everything you would need.
N. O.
Comfortable rooms with excellent staff, particularly in the restaurant for breakfast which was run excellently during these covid times.
My first room had an issue with the lock and the front desk staff sorted me out right away.
A. W.
Great staff and service. Room was very clean and overall okay, a few technical issues with the lights and tv but hotel staff were sympathetic and were quick to act.
J. S.
Excellent hotel ideally located, buffet breakfast really good
F. O. O.
Lovely hotel. Not first visit. Always on business.
Staff incredibly helpful especiallywhen a board room was needed for a client meeting.
Covid-19 meant atmosphere was slightly muted but friendly nonetheless.
Booked a junior suite and wasn't disappointed.
Would recommend without hesitation.
Looking forward to my next visit.
m. s.
Overall excellent experience, only minor grip is i am big guy, so the showers are a bit tight.
E. S.
Fantastic service and staff. Nice accomodations.
A. H.
Old hotel but clean and modern bar / restaurant. Rooms good but could do with a refresher. Staff excellent
C. F.
First time in London and the location was perfect! The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The hotel is in the middle of renovation and the only thing was the front desk agent mentioned he was “upgraded” us. The room was a little bigger and everything was clean just very outdated and old. I just wish he would of given us the choice since we would of picked the more modern room we originally booked since we were only sleeping there. Other than that the beds were comfy and sure once they are fully renovated it will be nice all around!
M. S.
Great service, nice room, breakfast great. Value for money.
J. C.
We stayed in one of the premium double rooms and our room was lovely! The bed was comfortable, and our room was very clean. It would be 5 stars however one of the group we were staying with was given a room that had a very strong smell of damp. The staff were very friendly and courteous, and the breakfast was good. The bar area in the reception was good, however it did take a little while to receive our drinks despite it not being overly busy. Overall I’d say it’s a good hotel
S. P.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will definitely stay here again 😀
S.
Lovely welcoming hotel in a great location for exploring the west end, excellent rooms, and spotlessly clean, would return!!
W. H.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel while in London for our first Wedding Anniversary. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a hotel. When we arrived, the Hotel was clean and the atmosphere was relaxed and modern. The reception staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. Now we did get lost on the way to the room but that was probably our fault.
We stayed in one of the Hotel's (new) Deluxe Premium Rooms and I have to say it was incredible. The bathroom in particular was amazing! We were greeted in the room with two puddings and a bottle of wine. This was along side a hand written card from the Hotel's Customer Relations Manager (who I've forgotten the name of, sorry) which congratulated us on our anniversary. I had merely mentioned it during the booking. I was not expecting such a nice gesture.
We used the Hotel bar which was really nice. Sat next to the fire and the staff were friendly and attentive.
All in all the whole stay was amazing. One criticism I have is over the Hilton phone system as I made several attempts at calling the Hotel and the system is extremely frustrating. Even the operator admitted this. However this is no reflection on the Hotel itself or any of their staff.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this Hotel and will definitely be staying here again!
T. A.
Good hotel, good super clean rooms and good breakfast.
F. S.
Beautiful hotel in Fantastic central location... friendly and helpful staff and a beautiful large Lounge at ground level in which to relax and have drinks and snacks brought to one. Beautiful breakfast served in the basement level restaurant with a huge choice of hot and cold and very good coffee. Rooms were clean and well furnished if a little on the small side and my only problem was with the air conditioning which blew into my eyes if it was on but when switched off the room became unbearably hot... but we were experiencing a heatwave and I'm sure there could be finer adjustments made to it. On the whole I really enjoyed my experience of staying there
j. d.
Clean and tidy
And tge staff were profesional and helpful.
Would definatly reccomend.
M. S.
Very nice hotel, helpful friendly staff, nice spacious rooms
T. H.
Great Hotel, friendly staff, great food, highly recommended, Thanks.
A. I.
It's OK, not hilton standard. The rooms need refreshing
n. h.
Great family experience - felt very welcomed and safe. Thank you hilton.
E. J. F.
Average but a good location. Very central bus location here and around the corner. This was the best thing about the hotel followed by the staff. Concierge, housekeeping, and front desk staffs were here kind and helpful. Did not eat in the hotel, we rarely do. Room was very small, a little small for the price although that wasn't bad. Facilities average.
K. S.
Late check in, quick and friendly, spotless room. Good location
D. C.
Great place to dine. I visited with group. Food was excellent
O. J.
Amazing breakfast team!! They were all so lovely and so was the nice man at consiage

The DoubleTree brand has always a lower tiered luxury than the standard Hilton hotel but this hotel is located near the West-End of London which is very exclusive. This dichotomy is shown in the hotel.
The lobby and restaurant areas are very high end. The rooms could have been very high quality but certain corners were cut to reduce cost and annoyed me very much.
It seems that the core of the building is very old and was made from tiny dimensions. The two areas are lifts and the bedrooms. The entrance of the lift could just about accommodate 1 person, unbelievable. The rooms were ultra compact but still with key items, just giving them a cramped feel. There was a double electrical socket above the desk, well placed but part British and part European - brilliant. The desk lamp did not have its own socket and was plugged into the British socket with no socket for the guest use. Inconsiderate design. The loo roll was on the opposite wall but still reachable from the loo - that is how small the entire room was.
The breakfast restaurant was managed by a true genius, it was very high and and deserved to be in a 5 star hotel. This was spacious with an extremely well stocked buffet and great service - absolutely fabulous. A bit expensive but great experience. All hotels are over priced in London.
Go for the food and service and you would not be disappointed. Rooms not so much.
M. D.
Always a good place to stay, but especially post lockdown the staff made every effort to ensure a safe and happy stay. Highly recommended for business or leisure trips to London.
S. H.
Great company, good food, let down by high bar prices
A. W.
Lovely room, a shame about the lack of room service (not as advertised on the menu)
A. W.
Nice hotel, upgraded although that meant no view, staff are amazing, so friendly and so helpful. Our room was lovely and clean, very comfy bed, a great place for a weekend stay and the free cookies are to die for. Breakfast is good, and the location is great for shopping and culture alike
D. A. G. G.
Great hotel. Friendly staff. Despite of the age of the building the bedrooms and communal areas are kept in very good state.
V. H.
I had a 3 night stay at the hotel recently.
Good:
- The breakfast was surprisingly good.
- The front desk staff was really helpful.
- The room was clean.
Bad:
- Heating/cooling system is ancient
- The shower water pressure was way too low. This was very unexpected and prime reason why I won't be coming back.
- Missing modern amenities like chargers by the bed.
E. B.
Great hotel in a perfect location. Staff were really good and we felt very safe in the covid secure environment.
A. O.
Hotel was clean but the room was smaller than I expected. It took a while for the water to get hot every morning. Staff was cordial but not overly helpful. If you just want a basic place to sleep and shower, it serves the purpose but if you're looking for above and beyond service, I'd recommend somewhere else.
m. 1.
Hotel is in a very convenient location for United Grand Lodge of England, and many other London attractions.
Staff seemed attentive and polite although a little difficult to understand at times, due to accents and English not being their first language.
Food was reasonable but somewhat expensive for what it was. The bar can only be described as robbery, I was shocked to be asked for nearly £15 for two pints, but this seems common practice for many hotels.
Wetherspoons is just 5 minutes walk away, and food and drink available at far more reasonable prices.
I would consider staying again as accommodation met my requirements, and the location works very well for my needs, just be mindful of far more reasonable establishments for meals and refreshments.
E. C.
Bathroom was not clean. I'll spare you the picture of pee and a pube on the toilet seat. Complained straight away and was given a voucher for a free house drink. They did offer to clean the room but I said my stuff was unpacked and it looked fine. Only noticed when I had a shower the next day that there was stubble on the tiles, a used shower gel behind the shower head and what looked like food on the table. Oh, and curtain doesn't cover the window. Reception staff were excellent throughout else this rating would have been less
M. S.
If you are after a particular location like those 2 big hospitals it is very convenient. Not cheap by any means. Room charges without breakfast £138. They even change got drinking water in the room.
The only complementary items are toiletries, iron and iron board.
There was no hair dryer in our room either although the staff offered to come over and check it out for us. However, there are plenty of shops nearby if you want to buy water or other drinks and confectionery.

Location was good, but still a far walk from the main attractions. Be prepared to take a taxi or ride the underground. If you insist on walking, make sure you bring extremely comfortable shoes. Rooms were good size; we had a one-bed with foldout option. Staff very accommodating and friendly. Cost was steep, at over $290+ per night, and sadly breakfast wasn't even included at that price. Shower was small, and the "curtain" didn't span the entire tub, getting water all over the bathroom following each shower. Aside from those disappointments, everything else was great! Staff was quick to greet you with a smile and offer endless amounts of their signature cookies on request. 🙂

This was a fantastic hotel - I had some concerns beforehand after reading the reviews but I can’t fault it! So beautiful, great service, lovely rooms and very quiet! Gorgeous comfy beds and a lovely chocolate cookie on arrival. Excellent location and only a five minute walk to the nearest tube. Will definitely return.

The hotel was great as were the staff. Breakfast very good. We were upgraded to a premium room at no extra cost. The hotel was in a brilliant position for getting around to see shows, covent garden and the bus and tube were a short walk away. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Overall a nice stay. Started out very poor. Checked in late after a transatlantic flight, told I was going to be in a single room when I booked double. Water leak. Then I needed to move next day. Received discount on 1st night. They moved my packed bags for me next day and room was excellent. Pictures show both rooms.

Good hotel well situated by Holborn Tube.

I stayed one night at this hotel on my way through London. Check in was fast and courteous and I, of course, got a cookie...all be it hard and a bit stale. The elevator to the room was very small... probably a clue to the age of the building , and on my side of the hotel ONLY ONE was working. That meant a trudge down the stairs with my bags to check out the next day as I simply could not get on. Good thing I was only one floor up from the lobby. My room was small but clean and weill appointed. A very cool amenity is that they had a loaner cell phone in the room which you could take with you on the go and use to call (even internationally) and find your way around. Though I didn't eat here I did sit and have a drink at the bar, which was nice and not crowded...but like every hotel expensive. I'd say the stay was pleasant but not the best Hilton I've stayed at.
a. m. N.
Stayed here for a couple of days while in Holborn. Rooms are ok, go for Premier king size rooms. Best thing about the hotel is the buffet breakfast and the lovely, courteous breakfast manager middle Eastern lady, she did an excellent job when the hotel was full to capacity and managed the guests very well.
M. C.
We stayed in this hotel several years ago, and like its location. When we returned in 2020, we were upgraded to the premier deluxe room. The room was spacious, beautiful, and even has a separate working area. We really like the newly renovated room, and will stay again.
W. C.
Comfortable rooms. Clean environment. Excellent breakfast. Concerege needs work...needs improved English language skills..odd to say for a hotel in London. Area has many services for the traveler. Great Italian restaurant just down the street.
L. R.
Went here for afternoon tea. Admittedly my first experience. It has raised the bar. Staff were exceptional, very professional, friendly and helpful.
If I'm honest I'm not a big hot drink person, but the tea was just amazing. The food was very filling. I'm a fussy eater and there was plenty for me to choose. An amazing experience I'd love to repeat and would recommend to everyone.
R. S.
A bit mixed. Initial room was on the first floor and suffered terribly from road noise even though it had been recently renovated. Triple glazing would have helped. Second room was very old. Paint peeling and bed was old and springy. Not yet renovated although we were told all renovations we're complete. The third room was smaller than what we booked but pleasant enough and the best we were going to get. When checking out the fact that we were effectively downgraded was not reflected in the price. Had to bring it up to the checkout desk. The price also failed to reflect the original booking price, which included half off for the third (Sunday) night. The manager agreed to reduce the price to the originally booked cost and cover our ancillaries (£60) as compensation for the different room, but we were billed for them as a separate charge 30 minutes after we left. The cost difference between the rooms should have been about £150 for the three nights. Other small details made it apparent a throughout check of the facilities post renovation were not completed. Certain lights didn't work, railings we're mounted so close to the wall you couldn't actually hold onto them, etc. As a Diamond Hilton member who frequents DoubleTree hotels worldwide it was disappointing overall, will likely stay elsewhere next time just due to the hassle.
L. A. B.
Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Rooms are a bit small. Rooms have air conditioning. Shower pressure was good but the half glass doors don't contain the water very well. Good hot breakfast buffet (15 GBP, free for Hilton Gold members). Overall a pleasant stay.
C. B.
If you are a Hilton Honors member, get upgraded for free and you will be more than happy with your stay. Check-in (Alfi) was a true professional as we're the servers in the bar. Service was excellent. This is a somewhat dated hotel but is clean with standard amenities. FYI...you are paying £200 in London, it's a DoubleTree, not a Ritz. Very convenient to tube and a quick ride anywhere in the city. Overall an excellent value
N. S.
Booked this hotel for a special family birthday trip to London thinking it would be a nice treat over other budget hotels.
Initially very happy lovely lobby and great welcome from the staff. Sadly the room wasn't up to much after this especially for the money we'd paid.
Small internal room with only just enough space for a double bed. A noisy air conditioning/extractor fan outside the bathroom window throughout the night. The bathroom was needs a good refurbishment with a loosely fitting bathroom panel and chipped paint and fixtures.
The location was great though easily accessible from London Euston and a gateway to the rest of the city.
H. M.
Such a fab place. Staff amazing. Weekend ruined as husbands back went!
T. M.
The hotel and staff are very pleasant and welcoming. The rooms are a bit hit or miss. The first room I had was comfortable and had a nice shower. The second room I had was TINY, that is not desirable but tolerable. What really wasn't was the shower. I'm not a big person and it felt barely wide enough to fit comfortably. There is no full shower enclosure so the floor had a puddle of water which is never fun. The shower head was pretty bad too. All in all not a bad hotel but a pretty key area was mediocre at best.
S.
Free cookie, lovely decor, nice room. Room was quite small but it was plenty big enough for two of us, with room to spare too. Nice facilities; bathroom, tea making, hairdryer, wardrobe, robe and slippers. Really good location and tasty breakfast too. Staff were really very friendly and the location was awesome for being a tourist. Loved staying here, can't fault it and really affordable too.
P. J.
Good location for access to central london.
Public areas are nice however, rooms really need to be updated and are quite old fashioned looking. Bathroom had no soap or shower gel in which is not what you would expect for a 4 star hotel. Good breakfast
K. T.
Great hotel in a good location with friendly staff.
K. B.
Great value with really comfy rooms. Good location, only a casual 10 minute walk to convent garden and Soho.
The hotel has a nice calm atmosphere.
Breakfast isn't cheap but an excellent selection of nicely cooked food and cold meats and usual breakfast cereals.
Naturally friendly staff.
Definitely will use for future stays in London
N. A.
Excellent welcoming and beautiful hotel. The staff are very friendly and approachable. The atmosphere is very nice and calming... As a five star hotel in the centre of London, it is naturally expensive. However, it is worth it for those thinking of spending nice time in a luxury hotel.
Z. S.
Lovely hotel! The reception staff were very friendly and so quick checking us in. They even gave us a cookie! The room was so spacious. They had plenty of shower gels shampoos etc which was handy however the hot water wasn't great and the power of the shower was a bit weak. The breakfast selection was lovely it was a great stay overall and perfect location to our Christmas party at Victoria House. Its a few metres from Holborn so very handy!
M. A.
I was there to run a training session with some of the staff, so I wasn't able to see most of the hotel. The staff were smart, welcoming and very professional. The meeting room was very well equipped and perfect for the required needs of the group. Next time I'll make sure I have time to have some food as it looked great.
A. S.
Loved our night away staying at this hotel. Great location, lovely room & most of all really friendly & accommodating staff. Although some people have left negative reviews I would recommend that if things aren't as you wish then speak to the staff who are happy to help. Great hotel😊. xx
M. C.
Staff are helpful and polite. We think that their breakfast is very over-priced, starting at £15 for continental and £19+ for English. A great choice of places for breakfast in Covent Garden at 5 minutes walk is much better value. The room was fairly spacious and was clean and tidy. We like the provision of a fridge, hairdryer and iron / ironing board.
m. o.
Very clean and friendly, nice size rooms great location.
H. M.
I quite liked it. Compared to West coast USA properties of the same name this was posh. The breakfast was good AND consistent EVERY DAY, weekend and weekday. There was a couple of quibbles with run down bits of the place. Like the hinges on the TV cabinet (concealing the mini fridge was about to fall off.) But it was quite nice overall. The neighborhood is fairly peaceful and you can sleep with windows cracked. Only one night did I notice an unpleasant outdoor city odor. It's So close to the British Museum too and so many other splendid things to see in London. The staff was super helpful. Management might be able to get on maintenance a bit more in the rooms, but public spaces were impecable.
M. R.
While the suite itself was alright, it was in the basement and got very little natural light. They compensated by adding a daylight lamp outside the window that went on every night at 3am making it seem like it was daytime. Maintenance came and never fixed the problem. Don't be fooled by the lobby...this isn't a very nice hotel. The matress was squeaky and comforter was very short.
K. L.
Excellent hotel, central, yet quiet enough. Excellent big bright room. Friendly staff, throughout.
T. M.
I've been pretty much living at this hotel since April. The hotel staff were very kind and there was a bottle of fizz on ice waiting for us in our hotel room to congratulate us. Spotlessly clean if only on a little bit of the small side. Brilliant location with lots to explore nearby. Supper deals are quite good value.
M. S.
Huge comfy beds, but we had a premium room and apart from a bit more space there wasn't anything premium for the price that was paid. No waters, the heating wasn't changeable and was super hot, got fixed after a couple of hours though. Beautiful decor and Bar, the reception team were welcoming and lovely but the bar staff on the night we stayed were rude.
А. Б.
Location is great, however, service and hotel itself are below the Hilton standard.Overpriced. rooms are super small, room gets cold very easily. we didn't get shampoo and kettle in the room, had to ask 3 times to bring us this kettle.
R. D.
One of my favorite hotels in London! Such a great location and very spacious room. The service is over the top especially Tony he has very charming passionately and was very kind and helpful. The check in was very fas even though it was the weekend and very busy time and of course they stole my heart with warm biscuits. I don’t think I will choose another hotel in London.
D. H.
Used Double Tree before but not this. Its a bit tired. Our first room had a loose plug socket with wires exposed. Got a better second room but aircon was faulty at times and very poor mattresses. Everywhere clean and great breakfast. Best thing are the staff, couldn't fault them, very friendly and helpful. Had a great 2 night break, taking in the theatre just slightly disappointed 're this hotel. Would still stay again, maybe just unlucky 're rooms
J. J.
Tastefully decorated, spacious enough and comfortable. The diner/cafe on the ground floor is a favourite. Lively at dinnertime and chilled at breakfast time. Perfect location too for theatre lovers. The employee Alfi made sure our stay was really comfortable and he also recommended a excellent restaurant “Frank Manca” and offered great service to make sure we where as comfortable as we could be, Thank you!
A. W.
Nice hotel, lovely staff, food atmosphere in general. I did feel let down by the room however, to pay so much for a room no better than a premier inn, with a hard bed and pillows, a bath that took 50 minutes to run, and wasn't quite hot enough was disappointing.
I still give it a 5 star rating however, as these are minor details, and all the other things, and level of service made up for them.
Don't quite get that at a premier inn!
A. W.
Lovely hotel, courteous staff in a great location.
L. V.
This is an impressive hotel with a large reception area and a nice bar. The free warm cookie was a nice touch as we checked in. (usual for Double Tree hotels). The room was a good size and the facilities were ok. Would have been nice to have more UK plug sockets around the room. The downside was that there was no fridge. We bought an extra pint of milk that we left in the sick of cold water to stop it going to spoil. Unfortunately, the cleaner removed this to clean then didn’t replace it. So when we got back the milk was off! What was worse, is that the cleaner didn’t replenish the milk for the usual supplies so we had to go out and purchase more milk that night. The shower was not very good at all. Some of the lifts stopped working during the stay, but at least one was working. I didn’t try the hotel restaurant but it did look lovely. The offer for afternoon tea was good value.
S. A.
3 night stay for pleasure. Tiny rooms overpriced and poor dining service. The elevators are tiny and the slowest ever. End up walking several flights of stairs as it is quicker. Ive paid less for more in more premium cities. I won't be booking this again.
D. S.
Room was a little on the small side, however it was well kept and clean. Staff were attentive, very polite and helpful, particularly at breakfast and at check-in. Breakfast was great and options plentiful, with copies of the 'i' newspaper available for guests to read in the morning. Overall we had a very nice stay with no issues, which contributed greatly to making our London theatre break an enjoyable time.
c. f. k.
The hotel is in a great location. Most of the staff are pleasant.
However, it would be better to have a more friendly and experienced member of staff on duty when customers are checking in.
The young girl who checked us in failed to mention many important facts including that the air conditioning was broken in room 121 and that the windows in the room nor in the bathroom opened!! Or that there was intensive building work taking place. We asked to be changed within an hour of checking in but wasn't possible.
Needless to say we never got a wink of sleep due to the heat. We finally fell asleep at 6am but were woken by the drilling and Jack hammers.
S. S.
The entrance was impressive and pleasent. When introduced to the reception and booked ourselves in we was represented with a warm cookie. Nice but strange. When we went to our room there was dust and marks on the carpet. The bed was nice and comfy however the pillows almost felt non existent. We slept poorly. The breakfast the following morning was probably the best part of the stay there. Staff were pleasent and helpful how ever very little help to our room.
R. M.
Although the staff very professional and friendly. We paid £280 for a room my husband and child couldn't gain entry to as I had the card to put their bags In whilst visiting the sites. I was at a course until 6pm. The room was OK very dark looking out to walls, which I understand - we was in London. The bath had pubic hair in, which I washed away as was very tired and didn't want to make a fuss. I had to be at my course early so was up to find we had not hot water. I was given another room to get ready in, which was helpful. My husband and daughter (8) then felt rushed around to get bathed/showered and ready rather than wait for agrivation of maintenance people coming into what have been a very cramped room. We didn't have breakfast but was given some cookies which was a good touch but would be charged for a bottle of water in the room? The double bed was comfortable the second I'd seen better In a travel lodge. Infact the spec wasn't much differant, which was disappointing as we stayed there for an extra treat for our daughter who loved the online photos of the rooms. At least the light centre piece was in reception or she would have been very upset. Would I recommend? would I stay again? No m, sorry I wouldn't not for almost £300 a night with no breakfast, bottle of water.... Also they had cheap toilet paper....... I have also discovered this in other expensive hotels.
F. M. -.
Nice looking hotel but the room given to us was on the ground floor and near the outside bins which meant constant noise and unpleasant smells. The actual room was ok but could do with better beds and updating in terms of decor.
Staff were pleasant and professional.
V. B.
Location is great! Ton of food options, close to the tube and bus stops, a block away from the British Museum, a 10 minute walk to Oxford Street, a 20 minute walk to Piccadilly Circus, and a short ride to all the major sites on public transportation. The room, bed, bath, and decor was very modern and I was excited but unfortunately, our heater was broken and we had to move to another room. The second room was quite the opposite as it felt and looked dated, was smaller, the excitement of the hotel faded, but we had heat on a chilling weekend in London. It was strange as it completely felt like two completely different hotels. The price is still great relative to location, but not all rooms are alike. Despite the room change, the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the entire stay!
A. E.
Although a great location, friendly staff and overall a good hotel we had no air conditioning on the hottest day of the year so far. When we complained staff said they would find a fan but never contacted us so we went back and they said they were resetting the room, and again this did not work and we could not transfer as other rooms had the same issue. Staff were very apologetic in the morning and offered free water and coffee however we did not sleep well because of this and this is not the first time I have had a bad experience at a doubletree (at the Victoria we had no hot water one night). The location is excellent and rooms were good, staff friendly but could have been more proactive with helping.
H. A.
The hotel is nice. the people working there are very very nice and very helpful. The location is perfect; in the middle of everything. They have breakfast buffet (not just continental). Rooms are small (which is (and like the) normal in London). The hotel concierge has good deals with most attractions. lots of shopping and restaurants close by. I would recommend.
M. Y.
STAY HERE!!!! Think of this hotel like the Contonental hotel in the movie John Wick. The rooms are being renovated and are very very nice. The customer service is the best I have ever seen. Adrien, the supervisor, was on point with everything. All the staff were incredible!!! The breakfast, delicious. Location in London is perfect!! I stay at alot of hotels and the Hilton brand is always great but this stay was above and beyond. The staff went way out of their way to make sure we had rooms after a booking error on my part. Definitely choose this DoubleTree when going to London. You won't be disappointed. Mike
A. B.
Small rooms, you can hear everything whats going on on corridor (like there was no door between room and corridor). But can't hear noise fron the street, this is big plus in centre of London. Room was clean. Very good breakfast
H. W.
Nice ambience and staff were lovely. I did have to wait in the bar for service but they were apologetic. The bathroom is a bit old and there wasn't enough water from the shower (IMO) but really lovely room and hotel. Will come back and would recommend.
A. R.
Excellent room for the price. Not too far from the restaurants and Oxford shopping district. Though our check-in wasn't until 2 our room was given to us at 10. Only drawback was that our bathroom door did not shut fully.
M. J. P.
Came for an afternoon tea with other 2 guests. The service was particularly slow at the beginning. Since we sat at the table (there were no other guests) we had to wait for almost 15 before getting our coffees. The sandwiches were decent, the sweets average and perhaps not really fresh. Good offer with a voucher, wouldn't recommend at full price.
T. M.
Had a lovely time at this hotel over the bank holiday weekend. Breakfast was a little chaotic and there was no body to meet and greet when I arrived , but somebody came over quickly to get me seated. Location was good. I was given a complementary upgrade to a family room which was very good.
J. C.
Updated hotel with great staff. The rooms vary according to your accommodation but the hotel overall is updated and a nice place to stay. The internet service is reasonable. The hotel however does leave a lot to be desired in terms of a fitness center. It's location is very convenient to many different attractions and modes of transportation. I'd recommend a stay here if you are on business in the area.
J. S.
The hotel rooms are big but not in great shape. The staff is indifferent and cold. The gym is one of the smaller hotel gyms I have used. The lobby is beautiful though and it's in a good location. I wouldn't avoid this hotel but I also wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again.
A. A.
Easy to find and great location. The conference room was comfortable with repeater screens for those at the back of the room. Air conditioning kept the room just right on a hot June day. Lunch choice fairly limited but a good standard. Staff helpful and friendly.
L. G.
Lobby and rest of the hotel was lovely, but the family room we had paid for was small and the third 'bed' was a camp bed pulled out from a chair. Very uncomfortable and not large enough to reasonably sleep a third person. Breakfast was good and had a wide selection.
C. B.
Front desk staff were very friendly and gave us a free warm cookie upon check in. Room left much to be desired.Carpet was so worn in corners of the room it was just underlay. The shower door was falling off the hinge and plug sockets didn't work. Considering we were supposedly updated to a deluxe room, I would hate to see a standard.
A. W.
Small rooms, and was put in a room where there was renovations. Was not happy waking up after little sleep to virtually having my head drilled. We should have been warned on arrival. However the staff did their best and moved us with upgrade and discount they were very polite and helpful. Thank you.
B. D.
The Double Tree by Hilton London West End provided early check-in without fuss. The staff at the front desk were extremely kind, courteous, and helpful. The staff in the restaurant and lounge were exceptionally nice and accommodating, and provided prompt service and genial conversation. Restaurantfood quality was excellent and reasonably priced. Rooms are of a size typical of European hotels, and were clean and well maintained. WiFi and a free business center are available. The property is located close to theaters in the West End.

I’m a frequent business traveller to London & this hotel makes my every visit as amazing as possible. Throughout the check in&out experience to the resturant and lobby services, you will be satisfied and happy in my views. However, I raised the concern I always have on the room housekeeping being not up to the standards but haven’t seen a significant change so far.
N. L.
I can’t thank the team at Double Tree Hilton West end enough. This is without a doubt one of the best stays I have ever had in a hotel. It was my partners birthday...they upgraded our hotel room, left delicious bannofee cheesecake and wine as a present along with a lovely thoughtful card for my boyfriend.... not to mention the reception team were so sweet to hold all the balloons I brought whilst I was checking in. They honestly could not have done enough for my this special occasion. They without a doubt went above and beyond. Thank you thank you thank you my boyfriend had the most amazing 30th birthday ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
M. M.
Amazing hotel good service and customer care
A. D.
I had missed a connecting flight the day before, but had booked my room ahead of time. The delayed flight would mean I would arrive a few hours before my checkout time. The hotel accommodated me and let take a shower and rest. They even let me stay a little bit extra. Overall a great experience.
T. &. E. B.
Very helpful staff here. Gontonmeeting rooms on the mezzanine floor regularly as Trinity Church London meets here every Sunday starting at 10.30am for Coffee/Tea and Croissants - Free! Service starts at 11am. Amazing bunch of the friendliest people we’ve met. So incredibly welcoming and NO pressure from them. Try it. The restaurant on the ground floor serves a good breakfast but expensive. Also quite small. Superbly conveniently located for public transport. Free Parking around the hotel on Sundays.
M. H.
Great hotel, Great location. Food quite good, service quite good. Big turn over of staff so never can build up friend ship with staff as on the next visit everyone has changed. I suppose that's standard in the hotel trade especially in capital sites throughout the world
M. S.
We enjoyed a comfy evening near the fireplace in the lounge with hot drinks and team discussion after another great training session nearby. The staff were very attentive, the lounge was tidy, the decor comfy, the toilets modern and spacious. The location is easily accessed by car and public transport surrounded by loads of shops, clubs, restaurants and nibbly eateries, just a few minutes in both directions between Holborn Underground & Euston train Station. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I would recommend it for others to visit, relax, enjoy the experience of just being. It's also a fantastic place to network with likeminded others in a relaxed environment.
N. N.
I stayed here for my birthday and they upgraded me AND left me a birthday card with a dessert in my room! So special and thoughtful! Loved staying here! It was centrally located in the West end with so many great restaurants near by! And it's in the center of all the theatres and great shopping!
D. j.
Food was well cooked and very tasty. Service at the bar was slow.
P. H.
Took a table of five for a three course meal in the restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. I had the duck terrine, fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding - all of which was well cooked, serviced piping hot and actually very tasty. They restaurant was fairly quiet for a Saturday evening, but that made for a pleasant meal with friends - much better that an round West End venue.
M. H.
Location is fantastic; close to everything. As a central London hotel those is very good; as a DoubleTree, I've stayed in better ones. Special mention to the staff who were always attentive, helpful and thoughtful. Lots of plugs in the rooms too (which is annoyingly rate in hotels).
T. M.
Stayed here for a night since well located. Everything was clean. The hotel is situated in a goods diction and everywhere we wanted to go was in a walking distance. Staff were excellent , and went out of their way to help. There are an awful lot of guests for the infrastructure.
J. H.
Great Warm Staff. We stayed a total of 9 nights with the hotel and we were truly impressed with the service level of the staff from Front Office to Concierge to restaurant. They were all very warm and friendly and treated you as friends. I would like to place special thanks to Victor Benjamin and Hamid (Concierge team) and Ausra the affably waitress at the breakfast table. Ausra is able to remember all her guests preferences from coffee/tea to preparation of eggs. She noticed that I caught a cold and prepared for me Lemon and Ginger Tea. This are the little extras that goes a very long way.
G. d. s.
Nice Service room. Well localized. Nice employees in the breakfast room. The breakfast could be better, some touch of different things every day, like cookies one day, the other day a different bread, fresh pressed orange juice sometimes. It looks like I eat every day the same for one week. The room is ok and very near of the British Musee and of some interesting quarters of London
T. M.
Had business to attend to in the Area and this hotel was conveniently located for me. You wouldnt want to imagine how I took all the bags catching a train to the high land. Staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean. A reliable choice for a stay in London.
T. M.
We needed to be close to the Camden fringe as our daughter was in a play. Room was clean. After flying all night and arriving at noon, we were very grateful our room was ready. Staff very friendly & welcoming. Some of the staff will treat you like a king.
C. G.
Convenient and modern hotel but expensive!
D.
Good location, very nice breakfast BUT we were put in a room the size of a broom closet. We were only there for one night so we put up with it, any longer and it would have been a nightmare.
T. M.
Our room was small but hey it's London there's no big rooms and that's not why you visit. Friendly welcome at reception but then hit by the provisional registration of credit card for. Very close to Holburn tube and a 10 minute walk to Covent Garden. I would recommend this hotel to friends.
E. S.
Excellent location and good standard of accommodation
M. M.
Really nice hotel. Staff made you feel welcome as soon as you walked through the door. Definitely will be staying here again upon my next visit.
S. W.
Great hotel and comfortable.. downside was that we were not told to wait to be seated four breakfast and got "told off" for walking through.. a sign is needed.. please wait here to be seated. That is the only thing I would suggest would make it a nicer stay.
B. H.
Warm welcome (with warm cookies) and allowed to check in earlier than booked. Very useful for getting rid of luggage! Room was clean and of a good standard. Would stay with them again
A. S.
Great location, bus stop straight outside with easy access to Waterloo! Nice reception and bar downstairs, friendly welcome ! Room was small but fair for what we paid in central London! Shower was more of a mist than a jet but still fine ! Peaceful night's sleep !
H. B.
Beautiful room very clean, lovely staff but annoyed that no food was available from 9:30pm.
Although the staff did bring me a bowl of crisps!
The warm cookies on arrival and departure were lovely+
A. G.
Rooms are quite small which is to be expected in London. They do the job but it is nothing fancy. The elevator situation is horrible. They have 2 small elevators large enough for 2 people and during our stay only one of them was functional so we waited 15 minutes for the elevator and finally just dragged all our luggage down the steps so we could catch our train. The one major plus is that they give you a smart phone to use throughout the city with free data and calling. It is about a 15 minute walk to the theaters and 5 minute walk to Holborn station. The British museum is just 2 blocks away. Overall wonderful location.
L. T.
Foyer nice and modern but rooms small and dated. Air Conditioning didn't work so had to open window during night. Can't knock it for value though as it was half the price of similar hotels.
b. k.
Not a very nice hotel, the room was hot and stuffy and I couldn't open the windows to let fresh air and the air conditioner was very very load so it was hard to sleep and also the temperature wouldn't drop that much. Their are much better hotels than this one.
J. B.
The rooms are on the small side, but hey, this is London. What sets this place apart is the service. Every employee goes out of their way to be helpful and cheerful. It is also a great location. Rooms are clean and well-maintained.
C. A. F.
Nice reception and welcome. The free cookie was nice. The room the usual small London size. A bit dated, but all fine. It was very noisy though with lots of noise from the hallway.
D. S.
Superb service, great albeit very cozy rooms. Breakfast was tasty and convenient. Location was less than 5 minutes to two different Underground Stations with plenty of great pubs and restaurants nearby as well as fun shops. Would definitely stay here again.
L. T.
The facilities are small but relatively clean. Staff can be sparse sometimes but they are nice. Finishes are are a bit weathered outside of the front of house but it shouldn't really detract from the experience. Overall, not a bad location since lots of things are nearby.
M. W.
Cosy and comfy hotel, very well situated near Holborn station. Lots of food, coffee and beer nearby (strongly recommend the Espresso Room and Holborn Whippet along Sicilian Ave). Service is polite and efficient. On both occasions that I stayed, was able to access my room ahead of the stipulated 3pm check in - a major boon especially after a long sleepless layover the night before.
Rooms are well furnished, although the standard double is a tad cramped, barely enough room to move about with an open suitcase. Premium double (which I stayed in on a separate visit) is significantly larger, although bed and pillows are about the same. Breakfast is served on the LG floor, and is a fairly decent spread - that said, there's enough food in the vicinity that you really needn't spring for breakfast.

We used Hilton points to stay here and were very happy that the breakfast was included. The location is prime, only 3 blocks from the Holborn station on the Piccadilly line and like 3 blocks from the British Museum.
The staff are friendly, things are clean, they have the standard DoubleTree hot cookies, the printer and computer in the business center work and the room was nice. We didn’t spend much time here, just mostly sleeping, as we were out for about 10 hours every day.
They didn’t have any scales to weigh suitcases before going to the airport, which was a bummer. No guest Laundry, just and FYI.
We ate dinner here one night and weren’t entirely impressed, they were out of the beer I wanted and our fish, part of fish and chips, had bones in it. When I asked for malt vinegar, they brought white vinegar... so yah... haha.

Excellent hotel for the price! Rooms are small, but this is expected in London. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was exceptionally helpful. Hotel is more in the Bloomsbury neighborhood than in the West End, but is an easy walk to the West End and Covent Garden. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
L. M.
Foot was great, service was first class.
P. P.
Initial room 105 was awful. Very old and definitely not the standard you expect from Double Tree by Hilton. I complained and they moved me to a better room 140 which was of the standard you would expect. New room amazing

My partner and I stayed at the hotel on the 15th February and we were very impressed with the hotel. Hotel itself is situated 10 minute walk from Dominion theatre which is why we were visiting London. The room was very clean and tidy. I'd maybe just see how much more it is to pay for a larger room.
C. D.
All the money has been spent on the lobby. Small rooms with double beds pushed up against the wall. But you get what you pay for. Staff were lovely, bar was incredibly overpriced - vodka and lemonade and a small glass of wine was £17!!!’
C. G.
Called in for a cocktail whilst passing the hotel one evening. Staff were welcoming and served us drinks to our seats. The drinks were well made. A reasonable price too
d. j.
Lovely large room with comfortable bed. Sound proofing into the corridor was not the best. Few drunken noisy people coming back late and some inconsiderate people in the morning. Bit I'm a light sleeper. Polite staff but offered no solution to broken drawer or very noisy faulty fridge.
N. P.
Staff were fabulous. Great location. Breakfast was really lovely. Had a few problems with bathroom but overall a pleasant stay. Oh and cookies are out of this world 😁
A. P.
Good location close to underground good clean rooms

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel.it is a nice hotel near great restaurants and near many things to do. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It was a great experience.
G. I.
Great location, easy access to tube station and all of the cool things at St. James park. My room, however, was not that great. Not only was it TINY, it was poorly laid out with only three plugs total. To plug in my computer or phone charger is had to unplug a lamp or the TV. The amenities were also sparse, one bath towel and one hand towel - no wash cloth, no extra hand towel or bath towel. It should be a Hampton, not a DoubleTree.

My wife and I are enoying the stay there for one week. Their staffs service are wonderful and friendly starting from the check in counter, housekeeping and especially the breakfast restaurant. The coffee shop manager Elkan Kaya is very customers oriented with great attention and service on running everything smoothly in the breakfast place. Their overall service and passion can be even better than many other 5 stars or 6 stars hotel in my experience. It will be much better rating if the hotel room can be renewed and the bathroom can be biggerl. My overall experience of staying here has been very good so far. Mr. Lam
M. C.
Nice structure, but the beds where too soft and the service at the restaurant was incredibly slow. We asked them to book us a taxi for the next morning and they booked it at the wrong time and the morning staff wasn't aware of it and almost sent the taxi driver away (luckily we came to the reception a bit earlier).
H. T.
It's okay for a city center hotel good size room staff friendly and helpful. Buffet style breakfast decent selection of food. Nice reception and bar area's.
A. H.
Well located hotel in between Tottenham Court road tube and Holborn. Hotel staff were brilliant, the concierge and front of house staff treated my 6 year old daughter like a VIP. Well appointed rooms, pick one higher up and the back of you want a quiet room. Rooms vary in size ours was smallish bit adequate, tip for using the lifts, they are small but there are two on the other side to get you moving. Good local amenities too with supermarkets, cafes and literally a short walk from the British Museum. Would stay again.
L. M.
Really good location, clean and nice room. Only problem was the towel heater seemed broken, with wires exposed. Also, there was a sign to use the anti-slipping mat in the bath but no mat was available in the room.
K. P.
We stayed 2 nights in an executive room - the service was great, all the staff were very friendly and the room was spacious and quiet, with a very comfortable bed. The hotel was really accessible, on both the central and the piccadilly lines, and we would definitely stay again.
R. L.
Very comfortable well equipped room. We were a little early for check in but they have us fresh baked cookies while we waited for the room in the comfort of their nice (though expensive) bar.
T. B.
really good afternoon tea, you are made to feel special and lots of food good value, shame about the tatty furniture in the lounge area not very 4 star seating.
J.
Good hotel, although not as good as other Hilton's I have stayed in. The breakfast range was really good but the hot breakfast was cold by the time we sat down.
The biggest plus for this hotel is venue. Brilliant location for West End, theatres and Covent Garden and central London.
A. H.
Nice reception and welcome. The free cookie was nice. The room was a good size for London size but all fine. It was-a bit noisy but clean.
J. J.
Facilities were adequate and the set meal appetising and well presented.
P. W.
We stayed in the newly refurbed premium deluxe rooms and they were nice buy didnt look anything special. We walked for ages tbrough the corridoor to get to the room as as the refurbiahment was still going on it wasnt the bestbplace to stay as the builders were still working and making lota of noise. The view was also a brick was as the room was in the basement so nothing to look at.
R. A.
Pleasing, helpful reception and staff. Many rooms are dated or need to be retired, probably the less pricey ones. Plus some guests are far too loud for the thin walls
t. m.
Small room that could use a little renovations. Showers are a bit tight, and elevators work sometimes. However majority of the staff is great and location is perfect for addressing the city.
I. o. d.
Beautiful rooms, great location, and the staff were excellent, friendly and efficient.
V. P.
Great location, functional rooms for business travel with good meeting rooms, a nice gym and good breakfast. I was only surprised the service in the restaurant/bar during dinner was quite slow and seemed understaffed. Alejandro in reception was very helpful.
M. S.
We were redeeming a voucher for the cream tea in restaurant 92 in the West End. The cream tea itself was good, although the cake selection was very rich! The service was a little slower than we would have expected though. Overall, the experience was average.
A. L.
Good hotel. Rooms are okay and customer service is also good. There is bar at the first floor which is open till late night. There you can try draft Guinness after busy day
Z. W.
Great location and excellent staff. The rooms are a bit dated but clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offering was also impressive.
G. T.
Was not a good experience, the initial room I was given did not have cold water in the bathroom (only hot water), while there are alot of staff members that are pleasent, they did not help much. Furniture in the rooms is pretty old.
C. I.
The location is great - very close to both the holborn and Russell square tube stations. However, we stayed at this hotel for 5 days and the lift to our floor was out of service the entire time. I find it hard to believe that Hilton can't find someone to fix the lift.
Staying at a major brand hotel and not seeing a single visible minority working there gave me pause. Especially, when several of the double tree employees didn't seem to grasp English. What gives Hilton?
M. B.
Very nice stay, clean and very local for Covent garden
I. C.
adequate and nothing to write home about, the staff do their utmost with the surroundings they are laden with. The whole premises needs a mega overhaul, and it is not just the malfunctioning elevator lifts or leaking corridor soffits that am referring to. Otherwise, wouldn’t say no to going back. It is not what one expects from the Hilton brand netter experienced elsewhere.
L. R.
Brilliant location for West end theatres British Museum two minutes walk away. Caffè Nero and Pizza Express few doors away. Staff friendly rooms comfy breakfast excellent choice for all palets. Would book again.
N. I.
Small room. We had no hot water for morning shower and hotel couldn't resolve. Also loud banging door to laundry room repeatedly disturbed us.
T. M.
Very nice break/ stay and prime location for the West End. Excess noise in the moring woke us up not sure what was going on sounded a lot like drilling. Rare that you get great service at breakfast. I would have rated terrible if it weren't for the great staff.
A. S.
Great place to have a conference in Central London as there are many breakout rooms provided. The staff are helpful in setting up the facilities. The snacks provided at the tea breaks is good as is the hot food served at lunch. There is usually a large choice of desserts or cheeses.
J. P.
Enjoying the stay so far. The rooms are lovely albeit a bit small. But the staffs friendliness and dediction to guests more then make up for it
R. M.
Service was outstanding. The hotel is clean and the breakfast was good. The knock is for lack of hot water - unless you enjoy a cool shower.
R. T.
Conveniently located, near Holborn station, British Museum, lots of stores nearby
Staff are very polite and friendly. The hotel is clean and has all standard amenities.
S. L.
We held our staff Xmas party here and the staff were so amazing! Bhini was a great organiser and Kostas and his team were great on the night. We had an amazing time and would definitely hold a party here again!
j. b.
We had a lovely time at the hotel, a lovely warm welcome and Christina feeding us cookies, Superb breakfast and days out with a warm welcome awaiting us when we returned, nothing was to much trouble .... thank you all but especially Christina. ...John and Lynda barker 19th to 21st April
G. B.
Great location in the city center, service and lobby great
M.
The conference room was confortable with a quite good audio sys. The restaurant served a delicious continental breakfast and a tasty lunch. Overall high level experience.
T. M.
I like to stay in the Russell Square area because it's near the center of London's activities and is easy to access from Heathrow Airport via the Underground. The wo*** staff wasnt seem to be nice when explaining this to us. The room was considerably smaller than I had anticipated for the price I was paying.
K. A.
As always with DoubleTree it was a good experience. Good breakfast, efficient check-in. Only small niggle was aircon that went on/off every 2 minutes (would have been far too hot to turn it off) and beeped every time (quietly, but not so quiet when you're trying to sleep).
R. H.
While the hotel in general was nice (and in a good location), I was not happy with the bed. If you like a firm bed than this will work well for you. If you like a soft bed, this is not the place for you.
D. B.
Been here a couple of times, stayed overnight once. Exactly what you'd expect from a Hilton, but with a bit more character. Excellent service and tastefully decorated rooms.
C. W.
A special thanks to Henri at the front desk, but really the entire staff. My wife and I booked a last minute trip to London and I somehow goofed up the reservation dates. Even though the hotel was completely booked, Henri disappeared for 15 minutes and worked some black magic to make everything better. He even applied our previous charges to the current (wrong dates). Service like this is why I trust DoubleTree/Hilton and will be staying at West End again!! Thanks!
P. R.
The room is small, but nice enough, clean and modern. Good WiFi access and a descent size TV. The desk and chair and quite comfortable.
S. A.
Attended a Festive Board here in the Bloomsbury Suite on Saturday. Attentive and helpful staff, tasty and well presented food. Room smart and well furnished. Bar prices a shocker, though
W. C.
Great reception, good base for Covent garden, seven dials and West end. Rooms little bit dated. But we slept like babies. Great breakfast.
D. C.
Great location, amazing staff and lovely hotel. The room is a little smaller than I'm used to from other Hiltons but overall still very much worth the money.
C. G. R.
Was greeted by a friendly member of staff called Alex who made me a lovely cup of tea and told me to make myself comfortable. Beata on the bar was cool too. Great branch
G. C.
Nice hotel in very good location. As always seems to happen with Hilton, lots of attention to the public areas but the room could have done with a spruce and some TLC. Would definitely return at the right price.
S. G.
Great hotel but the room we were given was newly built and the corridor was still unfinished. Water didn't quite work and drains overflowed.
I. A.
One has visited here for an evening meal with friends. It is a lovely venue, with reasonable price food. I think it lose a star due to the poor layout, not making good use of the space it have on hand.
L. B. N.
I attended a meeting in one of the ground floor meeting rooms. Unlike a lot of other hotel meeting rooms in London this one actually had a skylight letting in a little bit of outdoor light. Catering was fine without standing out.
N. A.
Fantastic location. Staff very friendly, professional and helpful. First room (family room) was tiny and claustrophobic, however when moved to another room it was much better.
J. M.
The staff were great, we had a lady called elli helping us with our conference. The room quality was good and clean and lunch was ready on time, can't complain.
N. P.
Excellent meal and very welcoming
P. J.
Handy location and comfy bed, but no soap, no shampoo (which I discovered when already in the shower), TV not working properly, and half my supper was given to a different table...
C. H.
Extremely friendly and professional staff. Bedroom was well maintained, bathroom was spotlessly clean and, the breakfast was great.
L. V.
Only went to the restaurant to claim an afternoon tea voucher. Looks to have been recently referbished, but the service wasn't great and the food was decidedly average. Maybe the rooms are better.
J. W.
Awesome hotel. Comfortable, air conditioning, all the amenities of home. Beds were large and rooms were nice size for an English hotel.
R. T.
Stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton for our first wedding anniversary. Staff were very good and the rooms were nice. All in all would recommend if staying in London.
J. M.
Excellent hotel in fantastic central location ideal for sightseeing. Staff all very professional, helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. I can't fault the hotel or staff.
P. G. C.
The floor of the room (events) entrance via left side of the reception, was a but dirty. Toilets are nice but they could be better. Reception could be a bit warmer.
D. W.
Very pleasant stay. Room was well kept and clean as was the hotel in general. Staff were very helpful and polite.
A. C.
Friendly and attentive staff, we'll looked after, we'll presented and clean hotel. Reasonably priced for a Hilton hotel in London. Very well situated for transport links to all over London!
J. D.
great location but a few problem. Check in was good, friendly staff. Room had dirty towels, broken in room safe, and wonky ac.
M. M.
Enjoyable and convenient place to stay. Very friendly knowledge staff making you feel at home.
B. C.
Nice rooms and friendly staff. Not in the middle of tourist or theater areas, but easy to get to them by thinner per by walking. Only a few blocks away from The British Museum.
S. G.
Food good but a little cold
J. C.
Ok. Nothing wrong. Renovated lobby, rooms are nice enough for London but very old building and you can tell. Good bed though.
M. A.
I wouldn't give this Double Tree more than 3 stars. Most of the rooms are not renovated and they don't provide the usual service that one would expect from Double Tree by Hilton hotel!
J. D.
We went for afternoon tea. Service was very good, although a bit expensive. Facilities were very good also. Can't review the rooms as we didn't stay for the night.
l. c.
We went for a meal. The Italian lady who was in charge was really lovely, very attentive and knowledgable. We didn’t get your name but you did Double Tree proud - thank you
R. G.
Fabulous location. Clean and tidy room/hotel. Warm cookie on arrival was a great touch. Would stay again.
C. M.
We felt very welcomed by all staff members. Nothing was too much. Thanks
M. T.
Good location near to major attractions such as British Museum as well as underground stations such as Holborn and Russell Square stations. Newly renovated rooms are comfortable and spacious.
R. U.
Good service and very nice looking accommodation, comfortable bed. Very good location, close to most popular things as well as a tube station just down the road.
T. B.
Room and bed were quite small, quite pricy, but then again we were in a hotel district in London, so maybe par for the course. Staff were very apologetic about a complaint we had.
e. h.
Best Hotel we stayed in . Very friendly staff . Clean . Breakfast exceptional .will definitely come back . Good location for Oxford st etc.👍
K. S.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Wonderful staff and the rooms are perfect. Will be back!
K. T.
Very small rooms, very small! Tired conference rooms, could use a refurbishment. Dining area is OK, buffet style lunch available.
M. D.
Great hotel, great staff, lovely smiling ppl at the reception, and the restaurant, comfy bed, breakfast is really good, it was a 5 star experience for me, I will surely recomand!
b. m.
Room had a main floor bedroom and an upstairs bedroom. The sitting room was large and nice. Beautiful bathrooms with towel warmers.
L. H.
Hotel undergoing renovation at the moment. Due to this no view out of window due to scaffolding. Otherwise a good stay with good breakfast.
J. G.
Lovely afternoon tea. Staff friendly & efficient
T. C.
Best greeting/check-in process. Gorgeous lobby. Rooms are a bit dated but very functional and excellent for the price
