Great Hotel for the family, our plans were cancelled due to Corona virus this December 2021. Instead we decided to spend Christmas in London and enjoy a week at the Grand Royale. Great service, amazing rooms (Always cleaned) and comfortable beds as well. only improvement I would say are the towels for the rooms.
Everything was 100/100
Would go back again.

I have been staying in this beautiful, centrally located, and well managed hotel for well over a decade. My experience at the Grand Royale has been magnificent every time (including during my week-long stay this month.) The rooms are always clean; the food at breakfast excellent; the dining staff courteous and helpful; the porters friendly and solicitous; and the manager a model of professionalism. Yes, some of the rooms are small – and, yes, the hotel is lovingly worn – but this is a hotel with rare character, with preserved Edwardian architecture; a hotel located directly across from Kensington Gardens and within easy reach of three tube stops and a host of restaurants and stores. In decades of travel to London, I have not found a small boutique hotel as homey as the Grand Royale London Hyde Park.

The staff are really friendly, helpful , providing a warm welcome and a great breakfast. Opulent building and the public rooms are spectacular however it's showing signs of ware making it appear a little down at heel in parts. I would however recommend it.

Wonderful stay at a beautiful hotel.. Staff friendly & helpful.. Room small but very lovely, clean, spotless ..Breakfast delicious! Great location. Can't wait to stay again.

Ok so yeah the room was small it seems a lot of people are trashing this fact. But what you get for the price is amazing! Great location. Clean and well equipped room, staff are really lovely too. I'll definitely be staying again.

Brilliant little hotel in Hyde Park and bayswater. Yes the room was small but it did the job, very friendly and helpful staff and the breakfast was great. If you need a bigger room then pay bigger prices, this place was Brilliant.

A lovely place and very well situated. Very comfortable beds, friendly staff but the rooms are pretty tiny, no good if you're claustrophobic!

Very good location, kind and efficient staff, rooms are confortable and clean. Hôtel architecture is beautiful. Breakfast is continental and typical english breakfast, enough pastry.

Fantastic hotel the staff a really helpful and friendly. Our stay here was perfect as it was a one night stop of due to trains being canceled. Super easy to check in and didn't cost too much. The hotel itself was amazing had a real old skool vibe to it and the room we was in was perfect and up to standards. I really do reccommend staying here

Its a good place to stay and ut was close to the centela part if the city. The room was small and not a comfortable bed. In general its a very good option with good price for a short time.
M. W.
Hotel inside a pleasant grand Victorian house. Some single rooms are less than 6 feet wide and only about 12 feet long. The bed is perfectly comfortable but the room is not for those with claustrophobia. The breakfast was adequate - standard British breakfast items, but for those that want a proper Continental breakfast, there were a few mini Danish pastries and longlife croissants, a plate of sliced white cheese and some tinned(?) fruit salad. Orange juice was in cartons (for COVID-19 reasons?) and coffee or tea came in pressed metal one-person pots that dribbled badly when poured. The staff were perfectly obliging and brought more coffee and hot milk when asked.

I booked directly through the hotel and received a better rate than I saw through third party sites plus my breakfast was included.
The hotel has a lovely exterior and lobby and is incredibly well situated. Walking, It’s 2 minutes to Bayswater, 10 minutes to Kensington Palace and 15 minutes to Portobello road Station. My room was very very very small but I didn’t mind because I was only in it to sleep. My bed was comfortable and the hotel was fairly quiet. For the location, it’s extremely well priced. The staff are lovely and very accommodating.

Good location in a quiet area. Close to the tube so was easy to get to places we wanted to visit. Hotel staff was nice and helpful, room was ok bit on the small side but was quiet and had good sleep. Only but for me was bath towels, think they need to be changed for new ones as sime looked bit worn out. But I would come back with no doubt.

Originally booked at another hotel in the same street, but was move to this hotel due to that the original hotel closed down for my stay.
It was easy to find this hotel as it got a central location in Bayswater, and then London. Did a quick check in by a really nice member of staff. My impression was that all staff members here was really attentive and good on service.
And its a nice and old hotel with history in its walls. My room had coffee/tea/biscuits - a really nice touch. I got "upgraded" from a single room to a double room, thats nice. Breakfast was continental or English and good.
For the not so nice parts. Requested a quiet room with preferably a view. Ended up with a room almost in the "basement". One window towards the ground of the street outside. The room had several stairs to get from the entrance to the bed. It was ok for me, but the hotel could have sent a notice about that beforehand in case the guest cant handle it.
The room is clean (or as clean as room with older carpets can be), but around the shower area it could have been cleaner (difficult to get by places, but still very visible). It was rather noisy from the neighboring room as its an old building. If you are noice sensitive this hotel might not be for you. Noice in the sense of hearing people talking, listening to music and so on.
This review is based on room 103 that I had.
Would I stay here again? Yes I would. The positive outweigh the negative and for the right price this is good value.

rooms tiny beautiful building needed bit of money spending on it. and a good dust. good price for location.
P. K.
Nice hotel. Room I had was tiny and the air con didn't work. Breakfast was awesome. Staff were friendly.
e. r.
Not bad for what we paid but we was given a room without a window......I'm sure I dnt need to add more
Staff was amazing 👏

Stayed 4 nights here.. Perfect spot as a base for kensington gardens, on the central line into the west end, Hyde Park and all the lovely attractions.. Clean rooms and such lovely staff.. A place with character and history..

Very nice. On booking.com they seem to have a bar but on arrival we were informed there was none. Besides this our stay was nice
s. m.
Hotel good, only problem was, the bar wasn't open or restaurant & room was rather small. Overall stay was good.
T. H.
Very Pleasant and helpful staff. Room was very clean. Excellent breakfast. Will stay again

Good sized rooms always clean and tidy, lovely decor in the public areas. Staff on the whole friendly
A. M.
The location is very good, it's close to Hyde park and Queensway tube station as well. The room was clean and the staff very welcoming, they kept smiling every time and serving you with all the heart, of course I will stay with them on my next visits.
N. S.
I just took a star away because I had never been in such a small room. Anyway it was a clean and smart room. there were nice welcoming coookies and I could make tea in the morning. I had a very good sleep, nice shower and all in all I can recommend this hotel for its location and lobby architecture that is historically amazing as well as nice service. Its located at Kensington park and from there you can have a nice walk to Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park.
S. K.
Conventient location and beautiful. Helpful staff. Rooms are tiny... But have everything you would expect and need, and what it doesn't have you can ask for at reception.
M. P.
I stayed at the Lillie Langtry suite over the weekend and it was a great time, the beds were really comfortable and we felt safe in the area. Only a few minutes walk to Queensway Station which gets you 10 mins into the heart of London. The Hotel has a great location of the Kensington garden. The hotel staff especially the night manager/ Manager Julian, was very welcoming and friendly to our group.
Whenever in Hyde Park area be sure to visit this hotel!
C. B.
Arrived and was allocated a room which was too small for myself and my partner and our luggage for a 5 day stay. Spoke to reception and were allocated a club room which although not large was much better. The bed was only a double but it was very comfortable and the room was well appointed. Breakfast was excellent and throughout our stay the staff were friendly and helpful. This is a beautiful building with lots of history and when I return to London I will certainly return to this hotel.
A. A.
Afternoon tea here was good. Food was really tasty but considering the beauty of the hotel the experience felt a bit like a local cafe rather than a nice hotel. Staff were pleasant but didn't make much of an effort to make guests experience feel special. Would recommend if you aren't looking for a top experience. Can't comment on the hotel itself as we didn't stay. It's beautiful though!
B. W.
Advantages for this hotel are location and excellent breakfast in a lovely breakfast area. Disadvantages: small rooms - large enough if you’re only there to sleep, but I also pick a hotel for a certain atmosphere, which did not match reality as suggested in the hotel’s photo gallery on the website. The mattress in our so called superior double room was small and broken. Staff were mostly trainees from abroad with hardly any smiles on their faces. The reception area is, however nicely decorated, not a comfortable place to sit with the front door open all the time. All in all, I would look further with so many hotels in town.
S. D.
Pleasant staff and nice enough rooms. We were upgraded as we were told the room we booked would be very small. Our upgraded room wasn't exactly big so I'd hate to see how small the smallest ones are!
I did appreciate the upgrade though.
Breakfast was good and included in our wowcher price which made the whole stay great value for money.

Room was a bit small for the price but it was a nice clean place and great location

Fantastic service, suitable rooms (March 2016)
Stayed here for one night in March. The room was easy to book online all coming in relatively cheap / competitive. Staff were very friendly on arrival, lots of smiles and friendly conversation. Rooms are small compact, but more than enough. You are here to sleep after all. Bathrooms are a little on the small side, but its functional, with a good shower.
The beds are on the soft side, which don't do my back any wonders, but other than that, no real complaints. Would stay here again if i could get a harder mattress. You live and learn.
Room service breakfast arrived promptly on time. Much larger portion than expected. Bacon was great! All in all, i think this place is pretty spot on with their pricing.
P. B.
An old building like this one clearly has its limitations, especially with regard to available space, but then again considering the location -almost ideally placed right adjacent to Hyde Park and with two tube stations in close proximity – this is a trade-off I gladly accepted. Also, all staff that I came in contact with was attentive and friendly at all times.
Personally I found the bed quite short (I’m a tall person), the hotel might want to consider offering larger beds where room space permits. Also, it was somewhat difficult taking a shower without ‘flooding’ the entire bathroom – a larger blind might help here. Lastly, as I usually prefer the steps over the lift, I found that every once in a while, the staircases were used as temporary storage for housekeeping items or used breakfast trays with half-finished dishes, see embedded sample picture. Nothing major, but still an oversight that I would not expect to see in a hotel like this.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Grand Royale! It is in a perfect spot--within 2-5 minutes of two undergrounds. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The hotel is gorgeous--the architecture and the stairway with stained glass and painted ceilings are a treasure. The breakfast is the best I've ever had at a hotel. The rooms are small, but so comfy. We like comfortable beds, and these are great. Stay here!!!

Great location, full of shops, restaurants and close enough to Hyde Park. Receptionists talkative and attentive, trying their best to help us with anything. It was my birthday they sent me some goodies in the room, very kind. The hotel was beautiful, old style, everything what I dreamed of! Beautiful restaurant and decent food. Not the biggest rooms tho, but when I booked I knew it would be small so when I arrived there I was prepared already as it was only me and my husband, it was fine. Overall lovely hotel and I would like to recommend it.
L. B.
My friend and I went for champagne afternoon tea for her birthday. Staff were really friendly and the service was great. There was a good selection of teas to choose from and the afternoon tea consisted of rolls and sandwiches, scones, cream and jam and a lovely selection of little cakes. Plenty for the two of us. The atmosphere was really relaxed and we didn't feel rushed at all. A great couple of hours spent in a lovely hotel. Would definitely recommend.

The place Is very nice the rooms are clean and well presented

Had an excellent stay, staff couldn't be more helpful

Great staff, beautiful hotel. Quite expensive for the very very small room. But the room is clean. Great breakfast, but we were told it would be complimentary then wasn't. Great restaurant, but the things I ordered came different from the menu. Overall would stay again. Very pretty and safe. Good experience. Beautiful bar

Amazing hotel. Staff are brilliant. Went for our wedding anniversary and when we got there had a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates and fruit. The bed had two swans made from towels with rise petals on. It was very clean and comfortable, so accommodating. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful experience.
W. J.
First impressions of the Hotel are that of grandeur and sophistication, with an impressive reception area and adjacent sitting room. Staff are friendly and will help you with your bags to your room.
We spent an extra £10 and got a club room and received a few extras like chocolates and wine. This extra money doesn’t help you get a newer room, however, and the deluxe double I stayed in before was of a better quality.
The breakfast that comes with the price of the room is really above and beyond, except for the lack of veggie sausages! (Please bring them back)
Because of its perfect position (tube station, Hyde Park), I can see myself returning here for a third time.

My wife and I travelled to London for a night out on 28th Feb and stayed at this marvellous character full hotel . Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff and smooth check-in. Superb room with all the facilities you would expect. Fantastic breakfast and easy checkout. A great stay in a wonderful building full of history and helpful, friendly staff and management.
C. W.
Nice hotel reasonably priced and friendly staff.

Great hotel! Small rooms but good enough. The interior is fascinating! The whole staff is not originally British I think (Russian?), but seriously, literally all staff. That doesn't mean a thing though, but I found this intriguing. The service is very good, great breakfast, nice clean rooms and a nice bar which used to be a small theater. Recommended!
L. A.
The room was pretty small but for a one-night stay it was absolutely fine. It was clean and tidy and the breakfast was great :) Very friendly staff and once they heard it was my fiance's birthday they left wine and chocolates in our room, along with a card. It was a lovely gesture and would definitely recommend the hotel :)
W. D.
Very nice venue and very nice staff, immediately felt welcome for afternoon tea. The food selection was excellent, and the range of teas was great. Fairly priced for location and quality. Only downside is the disproportionate tea-to-cake ratio for the afternoon tea, with more food than can adequately be taken down with 2 small cups of tea. Apart from that, would recommend, and would go again.
L. T.
The hotel exceeded our expectations. Easy to find. On arrival the staff, welcomed us and made us feel very special. Our room was ready before check in time, which was wonderful, after a long journey. Every detail, immaculate and fitting. From the front of the house where the reception area with inviting leather, chairs to sit and chat or to watch the world go by. The inviting and pungent, scent of flowers filled the air. Apples, sat nicely in a bowl for the guests. The decor of the room as we opened the door, a chequered bathroom with a luxurious free standing bath, the boys jumped straight in for a bubble bath. Antique furniture decorated the room, a fireplace, down to a nautical gold themed bow on one of the mirrors hung on the wall. The hotel is amazing. An absolute pleasure to stay there.

The hotel is beautiful but the rooms are small - you couldn't turn around in a double. Staff did not make you feel welcome. Breakfast was excellent, though coffee tastes instant.
B. S.
Great 4 store hotel. We booked a Club room which is located high up in the hotel but don't expect a club lounge like the Hilton etc. The location of the hotel is great and the tube station is only 1 minutes walk. There are loads of restaurants nearby if you do not want to eat at the hotel. Top Tip, book directly with the hotel and get breakfast included which was superb. I probably should give this 5 out of 5 as there was a 1/2 bottle of wine and nice chocolates in the room. Best test is would I stay here again and the answer is YES
A. A.
We went here for the afternoon tea. It was really a lovely way to spend the afternoon. The hotel is antique and really sets the mood. We loved the staircase and different public areas of the hotel.
Our afternoon tea was extremely delicious. We had very tasty scones and pastries as well as sandwiches. It was the perfect afternoon tea and I’ve been to a few of them in London. If you want a traditional afternoon tea I recommend it at this hotel!
J. R.
Excellent staff that are extremely helpful. The building has a great feel to it and has a good atmosphere. The superior double rooms are exceptional with great wash facilities and comfy beds. I would recommend this hotel for couples looking for a nice place to stay for a weekend get away as it located very close to shops, restaurants, Hyde Park and Oxford Street. With bus stops located close to the hotel. Getting around the city isn't a hard thing to do.
A. S.
A beautiful hotel with a warm royal feeling.
Excellent service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Delicious breakfast. And just perfect place to visit the city. I felt like I'm in heart of London. Well we enjoyed and had a great time.

Hotel is great and the Staff are amazing that they try so hard to help guests. But just a few problems. The staff are not to blame for this but the Management and the Owner that they outsource the Laundry Linen to another company. Problem is that the linen comes back dirty with stains and are ripped and have black hair on. Pillows covered with large stains. I did take pictures of this problem. Just 2 days before I left found Ants in my shower stall and one staff member saw this. This is one reason why the front desk are having complaints from guests about this problem. My room was in 002 in the basement and in front of the hotel and under the front desk where you can hear everyone who comes and who leaves and not very much sleep. Found out the staff at the front desk don't have a degree in Hotel Management except me been a guest. I also tried to show some of the staff how to fold towels the proper way for hotels. I was at the hotel from Dec. 15 till Jan. 3 when I left. I sure hope the Owner will fix the problems. Like I said the staff are wonderful and tried so hard to make things right for my stay.
D. K.
Lovely hotel, full of character. Staff extremely helpful and unfailingly polite. Rooms vary, as is often the case with older buildings, but I had a nice one. I like the fact they have proper baths.
M. P.
This is a decent hotel for London, but the rooms are small. At the time of my stay, the thermostat did not work and the room was terribly warm. I liked the in-room IPhone, which was free to use across London and even make international calls. The staff is excellent. However, if you need space do not book a single room - about the size of my closet at home in the USA. I left this review on Tripadvisor and my mother has been contacted twice about it. She made my reservation but did not stay at this property. Please, therefore, cease and desist from contacting my mother, who does not wish to be further inconvenienced. My review of the hotel was a 3 stars and not 'bad'. Whenever I review anything, my opinions remain objective and rationally thought-out. Again, do not contact my Mom please. Should the hotel contact her again, my review will be edited. Again, a 'decent' place to stay but nothing outstanding. Thank you so much for your honoring my request.

Really comfy beds and room was spotless. The room was a bit tight HOWEVER it's London so space a premium. The shower sprays on the floor due to lack of a curtain, but easy enough to put a towel down.
Staff very quick and polite without stepping on toes, and location was extremely good. Definately worth a stay since its only £16 more than a travel lodge which was no where near as central.
O. R.
We were stayed at the best suite in the hotel called the Lilly langtree Suite. The room was so spacious, the four poster bed was lovely & very tastefully furnished throughout. There was towels on the bed in the shape of two swans with rise petals on the bed. The bathroom was amazing with freestanding roll top bath, shower , double sinks, marble & lovely toiletrie, shaving, sewing toothbrush kits. Chocolates, fruit, soft drinks, biscuits, & tea/coffee....
Very clean & luxorious which was amazing as we were celebrating my husband's birthday. There was a spare bed there too. Television
fire place, sofa & coffee table. Lovely lighting etc. Very central & had a pleasant stay. Really central & recommend to all. Will love to return❤

Beautiful hotel . Great service. Small rooms.
K. P.
This was good value for money for London, rooms were clean and I slept well. The rooms are quite small - although I got upgraded when I checked in which was nice, some of my colleagues didn't and they were in a single room where their hands could possibly touch either side at same time.
T. J.
The location of this hotel can’t be beat. The staff was very attentive, and the English breakfast was wonderful. The hotel itself is beautiful, felt like old London. The rooms and the bathrooms are a bit on the small side, but the beds are comfortable, and everything was very clean and well kept.
D. r.
The building is STUNNING! Around every corner you see another beautiful detail in the intricate design the room we had was cozy and welcoming.Delicious treats and wine were awaiting us upon arrival. Our room was ready early when we arrived and check out is at noon , which is wonderful!! The breakfast buffet is far above the rest. The staff...SO gracious .They treat you like you spent $1000 a night...Your every request is granted.I really hope to get back to London again and will DEFINITELY stay there again...THANK YOU !
A.
Not too bad
Bed was hard and shower pipe leaking ..

We had a great two nights here.
The rooms are indeed small. But you are in a fantastic location in London, right next to Hyde Park and two tube lines, so we were happy to take that downside. You don't come to London to sit in a hotel room.
It was clean, the mattress good, the staff are lovely, and we enjoyed the beautiful interior she bar. Chocolates and fresh flowers a nice touch too.
J. F.
This mansion is a jewel! The room was small but had everything I needed. Taking a bath after walking around London was a blessing. The staff was amazing, caring, attentive, friendly and ready to help in any way they could. The breakfast : plenty to choose from, fresh and hot. The location is very good : Hyde Park is across the street. All I can say is : "Thank you for your hospitality! You got a loyal customer. "
D. M.
What an incredible experience! The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The Grand Royale is elegant and vintage. I feel as though I am stepping back into time here, it has the old town London feel. The rooms are immaculate and the amenities are fabulous.
O. N.
They put me in the LG floor, no view, the room was decent but nothing more, good breakfast even though you'll get a heart attack eating English breakfast often, a bit pricey 12 pounds if you pay at the register or 15 if you pay at the restaurant. The lobby is nice, the workers helpful but there are better choices for the price imo.
P. M.
The staff were nice and friendly. The room was on the small side. The towels we're not clean. There were stains on both towels that my wife and I used. We had to call the front desk to get a remote for the tele. The location was fantastic and for the price I would say it was alright. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again but would if it were one of the last options.
P. L.
Great history, very clean room
Staff were very helpful
R. L.
Halls, location and staff are gorgeous. A bit less the rooms (quite small). On the first night of arrival (~3:00am) we had insist to stay at this hotel as for a boiler problem they said the rooms we booked were not available, so they offered to re-accommodate us on another hotel. In the end they kindly provided single rooms (just for the first night), and offered free breakfast as a compensation for the problem. Would I go back there? All in all...yes!
l. r.
This is rated as a 4 star hotel and while the rooms are clean, well maintained and beautifully decorated they are small. I suppose this is to be expected in a busy city. However our room had 6 very steep steps directly inside the door, luckily my husband spotted the tiny mind the step sign before I ended up down the bottom of them. Also just to note we travelled with another couple and the shower wasn't working in their room. They had no trouble changing but there was new guests in there before the night was out.
Breakfast is 5 star. Staff are very please to and the building is fab, full of history. Right beside 2 tube stops so very easy to get around.
D.
As a local guide, there are certain things I expect. Most of which were catered for, great location and excellent staff. If I were merely a member of the proletariat, I think I'd push my rating to a 4 star but alas, I'm not. Rooms aren't huge, as others have commented, but you're in London so what time are you spending in a hotel room? Could probably do with a renovation but nothing major. Would stay again.
K. G.
The hotel is in magnificent building that history and charm. Location is good with access to shops, Tube and the Park. Rooms are are very small and bathroom is just functional. Breakfast standard is just acceptable. Internet is provided but highly unreliable with significant connection issues. Hotel administration is disorganised. Staff seek to be helpful. The hotel is functional at best.
A. M.
The hotel is in a great location. There are two subway stops within 5 or fewer minutes. The room is a tad small, but not bad since we were not spending much time in the room. The service was great, very helpful and friendly and the room was clean.
F. A.
My partner and I didn't have a reservation at this hotel but we had such a lovely time at their afternoon tea! From the finger sandwiches to the cute macaroons and scones; it was a very tasty event! 😋 (Unfortunately I forgot to save the pictures of the actual afternoon tea 😭) The afternoon tea came with bottomless prosecco and every time my drink was close to the bottom, they filled it back up like clockwork (I'm far too awkward to ask, so that was very appreciated!) 🤗 can I also note that the fresh camomile flower tea was to die for! 😍 The service was great; the waiters were so funny and bubbly! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the finger food, so I would highly recommend their afternoon tea! ❤️
J. G.
Really enjoyable!
Came here today with my girlfriend and our mums for a bottomless Prosecco afternoon tea and was really happy with almost everything.
Service was very good and Prosecco topped up constantly (much to the pleasure of the ladies) and the atmosphere and decor/scenery was stunning.
The sandwiches and cakes were pretty good, chicken brioche in particular but I was a little disappointed with the chocolate dip and the coffee/chocolate cake.
Overall a very nice experience and worth the money!

Staying in the Grand Royale for 3 nights. The service has been excellent. The hotel staff are polite and carried our bags to our room. The hotel itself is beautiful. There is ornate wood accents and beautiful paintings throughout the hotel. Certainly an experience! Breakfast in the morning was easy and very delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting London!
D. P.
Great hotel. Excellent location and beautiful decor. The breakfast is excellent and all staff very friendly efficient. It is fair to say that the rooms are small, they are well appointed and the bathrooms are also modern. WIFI worked flawlessly in two rooms over a five day period.
N. J. Y.
The staff was extremely helpful as we were traveling with a baby and helped us to find a room that suited our needs! The price was extremely reasonable, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very new. Location was excellent and we managed to take a morning walk to Hyde Park. We'll be back here again soon.

I stayed at this hotel from the 22-27 July and during this time found the rooms to be well maintained and taken care of. Whilst my own room was a little small, that may just have been due to the product type that I had booked. It was comfortable with clean toilets and great shower facilities and in a location that in my opinion is second to none. I would like to highlight however that during my time here, my iPad screen had been damaged in my absence from my room and I immediately raised this issue with management; to their eternal credit, they fixed it immediately with no issues and I received my iPad back pristine albeit without the case.
That said, I would definitely repeat my stay here and would recommend this hotel to any travellers.
K. D.
A lovely place with a fun history and utterly gorgeous common areas. Sad that the rooms didn't reflect the history. Our room was comfortable and we have no complaints, it just would've been nice to see the lovely historical decor in there
A. D.
The hotel looked excellent, modern rooms with a grand, traditional lobby. Staff were helpful and friendly all the way. Sadly they couldn't offer us a room due to a hot water problem. This could have been a disaster but we were immediately.offered an upgrade at another hotel, with complementary breakfast and a taxi to take us to the door. So, while I can't comment on an over ight stay here.i will say the staff did an excellent job umder unfortunate circumstances,l.

Service was wonderful, the food was pretty good, but the ambience was absolutely dead because we went when the snow closed down London. The dining room is quite classic, and I should imagine when there are enough people in it, it is very atmospheric. However, when we were there they were just three other couples, and a heating appliance was making more noise than the background music and the diners.
D. D.
My sister and I stayed here during Easter break, and our experience was absolutely fantastic! The lobby constantly smells like lilies, guests are free to use the computer and printer on the main floor, there is a beautiful bar inside the hotel, and the included hotel breakfast was the best breakfast food we had on our entire trip. Along with this, the hotel staff was more than willing to store our bags for free the day we checked out since we weren't leaving the city until 23:50 on a sleeper train.
Typically, I go straight for the Hiltons in the area, but I decided to branch out this time and I was not disappointed in the slightest!
C. Y.
Stay here for a night and loved it! Room was quite big and the bathroom was pretty small but still pretty roomy overall with a complimentary breakfast loveeee it:)
Totally would be will coming back again.
I didn’t get the chance but they have a traditional tea party that I am interested in and plan to come back and try it out!

I had a very nice stay at this hotel, and would definitely return here the next time I'm in London. Marrying old world style (fabulous carved oak paneling, stain glass windows and a spectacular main staircase) with modern decor in the …
R. H.
My room was ok for an over night stay. The room was tiny but clean, the window could not stay open and the view was ridiculous. Brick wall, Windows and the building opposite. Plus I didn't find their mattress totally comfortable.
I did like the use of mobile phone you could take and explore London with ingenious. That being said, I would like to have paid a little less for my room.

From Sue Harrison.
The hotel had a major electricity failure when we stayed for 1 night but the staff were amazing. It wasn't their fault but they couldn't have done more for my colleague and I. They were very attentive and thought of everything, even bottle of water each and night lights. They very generously adjusted the final bill too. Couldn't have asked for more under the circumstances. Will definitely be going back as it's a lovely hotel and excellent breakfast. Thank you Grand Royale.

Good transport links. Accommodation clean but not comfortable.

Good cozy hotel 🏨😁👌🏽
Near Hyde park 🌳🌿

I booked in late to be told that I'd booked twice. I can't see how that could happen as a lone business traveller but it caused a hold up when checking in. Julian, who was on the desk, deserves much recognition - bonus or promotion - for dealing with the matter in a calm and professional manner. My team book this hotel from a preferred last and at hand 220,000 employees. If any of my (global) team ever stay here again, it is entirely down to his kindness. The room is fine, the hotel is fine.
T. M.
The bed was comfortable and all appliances worked. The restroom was tiny. Water running down the walls. The staff were brilliant. Having said that, the breakfast was absolutely lovely. I could cope with the scruffy appearance of the public areas and the shabbiness of the room, but this was not a suite.
M. A.
The staff is super friendly here, always smiling. Very good location, everything you need is in walk distance. The rooms are clean, but super tiny! I asked to switch rooms seeking larger one and better view, still tiny! Not sure if all London hotels are like this, since it is my first visit. But tbh speaking of how small the rooms are, it is a little pricy.
G. S.
Really nice old hotel... Plenty of charm and atmosphere.. Rooms absolutely tiny though... Smallest I've ever seen but for 1 person was cozy and location is great...
D. C.
Beautiful building lovely location friendly staff, however having booked the superior room hoping for a slightly larger room than the deluxe we were somewhat annoyed to discover that the deluxe room must have been well a broom closet because our "superior" room was absolutely tiny! To get past the desk chair to the bed you had to completely remove the chair from the desk move it to the wardrobe and then place it back. The bathroom was modern but the water pressure was poor and water temperature also poor. (this may have been to do with being on the 7th floor but still!! Very expensive hotel...) light fittings in the bathroom were falling out of the ceiling and finally bottles of water not replaced after the first night... Not a massive thing but well for the price it's not masses to ask for a bottle of water each....
Finally, I would hesitate to say the most uncomfortable mattress I think I've ever slept on...
C. H.
4 stars for decor, service and location. 3 stars for room size. We booked a superior delux room and was given the smallest double bedroom I have ever seen. We asked for a larger room and was given a larger one but still smaller than I would have expected. The decor and service is excellent. It's ideally located next to Hyde Park for a walkabout.

This is a wonderful historic space to stay when in London. Their breakfast is absolutely worth including in your reservation. Very tasty, hearty, and mostly healthy British breakfast. Location in Hyde Park allowed easy access to everywhere, shopping, restaurants, the Tube and plenty of attractions. Lastly, though this is not why we selected this hotel, Idon't know who they use for their laundry, but my clothes that have not been worn after they laundered them in early March STILL smell spectacular. I love the scent. Bottom line, I would for sure recommend this hotel.
I. L. G.
Beautiful reception. The receptionist wasn't very nice at the first moment when we told him that the rooms were paid. After insist and do the call, he was very nice with us. The rooms where small and noisy AC even turned off (8th and ground floor). Probably more expensive rooms will be ok. Good breakfast and very nice waiters.
A. M.
Very good location. Across the road with Hyde Park.
Good service.
Fairly clean rooms (Toilet could be better).
Breakfast is fine, good variety. Rather overpriced (at £15 per a head) comparing it to local area offers.
About the area:
Multicultural area. Worthy to explore. Variety of restaurants and stores behind the hotel.
Close to metro stations.
M.
I wanted to thank you all the staff specially Naila. She was very friendly and very patient. Me and my group were use the Grand Hall for one day shooting for short film. To be honest we were a bit noisy and had lots of stuff. We finished work slightly later that arranged time. Naila was there patiently, we used other room for lunch and drinks.
Everything went so smooth with lovely staff.
Thank you so much
Michael and Marzi

A lovely London hotel full of character who do not charge the usual overpriced London hotel rates. Clean & tidy rooms with up to-date facilities.
Fantastic breakfast selections.
The only thing that I could complain about but won't is the traffic noise. The building still has timber framing so until it can be modernized this will always be a problem. Take some earplugs like I do and it really wont be a problem.
I have stayed here twice now and will continue to do so until they start overcharging - like every other hotel has started to do in London these days!!
D. L.
The staff was so friendly and helpful always making us feel special. Our room was nice . The breakfast was so good. Staying here made our first visit to Europe to memorable.
J. S.
Room was clean and comfortable although quite small. Bathroom was nice and everything worked well. Reception staff were helpful and friendly but not particulalry attentive. Good overall and good value.
N. J.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grand Royal London Hyde Park, the room and complimentary gifts were an icing on the cake to making our stay that extra special.
I'd like to personally thank the entire your for looking after me and my fiance, everyone was extremely polite and went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were meet.
I cannot wait to plan another visit in the future. We will definitely be recommending Grand Royal London Hyde Park the hotel to stay for suitable location, scenery, shopping and restaurants. I would grade our overall stay 10 out of 10.
R. H.
I cant say enough great things about this hotel! The rooms are quaint and cozy. The staff is amazing and extremely helpful. There are a ton of pubs within walking distance, and you are very close to many great sites. Including walking distance from Kensington palace and Hyde park.
K. L.
We been for afternoon tea on Friday, afternoon tea and a bottle of champagne for 39£ is a fair price, sadly we had to pay 13£ extra for two as it was between Friday to Sunday. Except that we had a great time in the hotel, sandwich were fresh and tasty, scones warm and delicious, pastries good and huge, we had to take with us the carrot cake one. Manuela were very helpful and nice, and organised for us the carrot cake “take away”
J. H.
We had a cream tea with a glass of Prosecco via a special offer from travel zoo (£24 for 2 people). Excellent value for money, the tea itself had all the usual food items (3 shelf trays of finger sandwiches, cakes and 4 scones jam and cream). All very edible. The setting in the restaurant area is ok as well. 2 things which could be improved which would of pushed the score to 5 stars are.
1. The service could of been a bit more personalised, once we were served with the tea there was no further communication with us by the staff
2. It would of been nice if one of the staff would of offered us to topp up the tea pot with hot water to allow more cups of tea to be produced.
It was well worth the money we paid for it, hence 4 stars, but with a little bit more customer focus which would be at nil cost, it would of moved to 5 stars.
S. W.
I spent a couple of nights in the hotel in Summer2016. I was actually booked into their sister hotel which had some sort of issue so they asked me to have a room at this place instead. The room was freshly renovated and very clean. The breakfast in this hotel is delicious.
T. M.
The staff were polite and very attentive but not overbearing. The hotel clean and tidy. The location is ideal as a base for sightseeing and shopping. We booked directly with the hotel and had breakfast included for a great rate. We will certainly stay here again on our next trip.
C. B.
Nice hotel and nice breakfast. The decor is very atmospheric and it was supposedly the home of Lilly langtree (Royal mistress). All good but the room sizes are extremely small, even for London. When there isn't sufficient room to sit properly on the loo you know it's small. We paid £365 GBP for 2 nights (no breakfast) in a supposedly superior/luxury double room but it wasn't good value for money. Tip: don't take breakfast at the hotel at £15 each. There are lots of little places to eat breakfast less than 5 mins walk away near the tube station.
A. L.
This hotel has character and flair. The hall, the living room and the theatre bar are richly decorated in Edwardian style. It was the residence of King Edward's mistress. Rooms are nice and clean, bed very comfy, breakfast is excellent. It is conveniently located in Bayswater a few steps from Queensway tube and Hyde Park. I enjoyed every second and will definitely come back!
E. S.
Hotel staff is very nice and welcoming. The room is a bit small but clean and does the job. Great location, right next to public transport. Breakfast is delicious with lots of options!
Z. Z.
It was okay. Very nice staff. Breakfast was good. But the room was the smallest room I've ever stayed in, and I'm on the road a lot and see many hotels.
D. D.
A small hotel big on charm and service. Remarkable adornments make this a charming place to stay. The staff is very attentive and strives to please. Nicely located across the street from Hyde park. The rooms are small but ther is a lounge/work area that makes up for it. Be sure to ask about the history of the building.
A. W.
Paid over £220 for a deluxe room that had a queen bed but was really disappointed. Bed looked like a standard double and room was far from deluxe. In fact i asked to be moved as we were in the basement and it was noisy so we was given a standard room on the 7th floor which was much quieter and was no worse than the deluxe...so i question what you are paying for when you go deluxe???? Lobby and bar is really nice and relaxing, bedrooms could do with updating. Location is really good, can walk to oxford st shops in 15 mins and 2 tube stations are around the corner from the hotel, bayswater and queensway
S. H.
Stunning building with some beautiful original features and the paintings on the ceilings are magnificent!
The food and service was excellent great value for money. The waitress who served us was very polite and couldn't do enough for us (can't remember her name but top marks to you.)
A. M.
We stayed 4nights, the hotel is near th 2 tubes stations. beautiful clean room, breakfast was very nice. Excellence Staff and facilities. Hope to stay again the same place when I visit London
j. f.
Very art deco but basement is modern an alley way of corridors. Surprised to hear the sound of the local tube every few minutes from my room . Breakfast great Staff friendly. Overall four stars
J. P.
Very nice hotel for everything. Staff were the best, interior was awesome, location was perfect. You weren't regret to stay there. I havent tried breakfast but looks also pretty good quality.
E. M.
-easy to find 2 minutes walk from Queensway tube station.
-upon arrival restaraunt was quite hard to located within the hotel as we were not guests at the hotel and the wait was lengthy at reception. A sign would of helped.
-polite attentive staff who were very helpful. Food was amazing, fresh, hot and very tasty. We had the steak which was great.
M. y.
It was such a loveley place. 😍 We have been here for our honeymoon. As a surprise we got a more luxurious room, with towels in the form of two swanns. At the top of that we got a bottle of wine free of charge. We want to thank the staff for this great treat! Breakfast was delightfull and the waitresses were very helpfull. We highly recommend this hotel to everyone who is planning a trip to London.
D. T.
Superb hotel, wonderful staff, our stay at the Grand Royale marked the start of our honeymoon and they upgraded our room, gave us a lovely hand written card, bottle of wine, chocolates and a tray of fresh fruit. They ensured we had an amazing start at a very special time in our lives.
S. B.
Room comfortable. Had to ask twice for ironing board. Had no TV remote which I requested and had no response. Breakfast doesn't start until 7 which is too late for business users. Noisy floor boards in room above awoke me a number of times during the night.
N. B.
Always a pleasure staying here. Overall great experience! The staff are super friendly, the rooms are fantastic and the beds are comfy. My first choice for any visit to London!
L. T.
Comfortable, quiet rooms, upgraded for us. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice. Very friendly and helpful staff and a great location - 1 minute away from Kensington Gardens.
V. Y.
We had a deal from wowcher which gave us a three course meal and a bottle of prosecco. The room we were sat in was gorgeous, the meal was fab, especially the goats cheese salad and the lady who served us went above and beyond for us. Would definitely recommend this place!
C. L.
The hotel is located around a minute from both Bainswater and Queensway stations and Paddington is only a 15 minute walk away.
The decor and style of the hotel is fantastic. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and catered to my requests at stupid o'clock. The rooms seem to be recently refurbished, they are clean, modern and everything works. The room I had was a single and was a little on the small side but not cramped. What do you expect in London.
Breakfast wasn't that bad either and the hotel bar was very nice and drinks were very good value.
The only thing to improve the hotel would be a shower curtain or a glass screen in the bathroom as the water splashes onto the floor.
Overall i would recommend the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
I had a single room for one night (1st July - 2nd July 2014) and the room on its own came to around £120 with breakfast included which I thought was extremely reasonable!
* note that you need to leave a refundable deposit at reception when you check in which is £10 a night so if you stayed for 6 nights you would need to leave £60. You'll get it back when you check out.
D. W.
Rooms a little small but as it's London not a terrible. Decor is warm and inviting. Nicely old fashioned with modern twists. Staff are excellent very helpful. Would have been 5 if the construction was completed.
J. E.
deluxe double room quite compact but very clean good ensuite and breakfast was great with great buffet options. staff very obliging. a great spot for transport. transfer to heathrow £45 and will pick you up from airport.
M. J. P.
Visited the hotel for a chocolate afternoon tea. The staff was very attentive, the prosecco (from Veneto) was excellent and the sweets were very fresh and tasty. The hotel's decor is very elegant and the location is convenient, beside Hyde Park and a couple of tube stations. Definitely recommended for the overall quality.
P. V.
The air conditioning was not working, but the staff was friendly.
J. H.
great hotel situated a minutes walk from Queensway station on the central line and close to Bayswater station allowing you quick connections around the city. The Buffet Breakfast is fantastic and service is very friendly not only in the restaurant but from the moment you walk through the door. Rooms are reasonable, comfy beds, clean sheets, hot showers, serviced daily if you wish. For a business or weekend break in London this is a fantastic option at a great price. In the morning you can cross the road and go for a jog or stroll around Hyde Park.
S. B.
If you want to feel like you slept in a Castle this is the Hotel for You! Absolutely Old London, with all the ornate culture but with modernize plumbing, cozy beds! And the whole staff Julian and Reumundas were second to none! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
D. D.
Not very luxe and as a lot of other have described, quite small rooms. Clean rooms and OK bathrooms. OK internet. Not streaming quality, but OK. There was no fridge and hardly any view from my basement room! No noticeable sound isolation between some of the rooms. (We had 3 rooms) :) EU to UK electrical socket in drawer. :)
Breakfast quite expensive if it is not included (15£ per person per meal) and we have to prepay the room? Strange.
The subway was close. 2 min. slow walk(Queensway)
M. B.
I must preface this review with the fact that I have traveled all over Europe and I am very well versed on Small European Hotel Rooms. This hotel was nice but beware the rooms were Extremely Small. Our first night we were told there were no more rooms left, even though we booked ahead, and they put us in room 018, Refuse this room if you should get it. The bathroom sink was the same as one would find as a dentist's spit bowl, no room between the sink and the corner of the very tiny shower so to sit on the stool required twisting and turning in order to fit in the small space. The room also followed in the Tiny category. We were moved to room 102, larger sleeping space but not by much, the downside was that you had to walk up approx 8 steps from the lobby every time you left or returned to your room, there was no elevator access on this level. Once you reached your room upon entering the room the bath was located immediately to the right but then there was another set of 6 steps up to the tiny bed area. The photos show the hotel to be much larger than it actually is, it is very old and historical not a negative if you like that. Upon checkout we were charged for two full breakfasts when I had nothing, only sat with my husband who only had a cup of coffee, I will say though the reception acknowledged the charges and when I corrected them the charges were removed with no problem at all, but they never should have charged us in the first place. The positive side is that the staff could not be more helpful, from the reception to the bell staff everyone was quite polite and helpful with anything we needed. We asked for a cab to the Paddington Station to return to the airport and when I told the reception we needed a cab she called for one from a service rather than getting us the regular Black Cab that are all over London so the fee was higher than the Black Cab would have been, we had no idea that was who she called so we were stuck with it when it arrived. Both of the rooms were clean. There were 2 very nice things the hotel offered for no charge and that was the smart phone each room has and the use of the business center and free access to the computers. The smart phone allowed one to call internationally or locally, text, access email, google maps etc, all that a smart phone could offer and it was all free, you could not receive calls but other than that it was quite helpful! It was nice to go to their business lounge and use the computers to check on emails or access the internet and also print anything you needed and again, no charge. There were bottles of water and a few cookie snacks on the desk in the room and those were also complimentary which was nice. The location to the Queensway Station was less than a minutes walk, Hyde park was about a 2 minute walk with Kennsington Palace about 10 minutes away. Great Location! Regent Street was very near, restaurants right around the corner, really nice location. I would not stay there again simply for the size of the rooms. If you can live with the tiny accommodations then go for it! Good Luck!
S. A.
Great authentic hotel, but rooms are tiny, and lots of stairs... Made it difficult to get baby stroller in and out and through the Halls. Wonderful, kind helpful staff!!
N. J.
We were able to do early check in. The hotel itself is so intimate and chic in an english way. Close to the train station and asian take out restaurants
S. L.
The public rooms were impressive, but my bedroom was tiny with a single bed. Breakfast was fine but not outstanding in any way. Location was ideal for Hyde Park, but unfortunately my room had views only of other rooms.
G. V. S.
Great location, courteous staff, good property but cramped rooms and passages. Hardly a Two Star rating should be given to the property... Location is the advantage with the Hyde Park across the street and the nearest Underground station just around the corner.... The parallel street, Queensway, is always busy with lots of restaurants lining the sides... This area gives a real feel of London...
I. K. 1.
My favourite hotel in London. Good location close to Oxford street for shopping and easy access to Hyde Park and other London sites. Hotel staff very helpful and accommodating. Bed and breakfast staff outstanding for hospitality. Looking forward to our next trip to England.
n.
I really enjoyed my stay. 5 star treatment. Breakfast fantastic and dinner was exceptional. Loved our stay. Thank u so much for making us feel so welcome.
A. A.
Had afternoon tea. Nice staff. Offered halal chicken but not sure whether HMC or not. Really nice tea. Alot of cakes served. An olden style atmosphere and decorations
W. Q.
Nice location, nice design.
Rooms are tiny, but i really recommend this hotel for its location and service.
P.s the staff was so nice and happy to help like I’ve never seen
P. B.
Brilliant stay.
Made to feel welcome. Nice food and clean, small room - posh though. Great breakfast and afternoon tea. Close to tube station, but still quiet in area.
T. M.
I have a wonderful stay at the Grand Royale Hyde Park. We were most happy and impressed by the level of service we were afforded by the staff. The hallways going to our room were barely wide enough to accommodate our bags on rollers. I could hear everything next door were doing.
J.
We were moved to the Grand Royale after our room at the Park Grand Paddington Court was unavailable. The room we ended up with was the Langtry Suite, the largest room in the hotel apparently. The room is very large with a separate bathroom that is almost the same size as the bedroom. A four poster bed dominates the room, with a separate sofa at the bottom of the bed. To one side of the main bed is a separate bed, that we were told could not be moved because there was no room big enough to accomodate it. The facilities are clean and tidy, although the USB charge port on the wall had been damaged meaning the supplied "guide phone" was flat. While this wasn't an issue for us, I can see it being frustrating for someone who wanted to make use of the facility. After we charged the "guide phone" it was slow to respond to inputs, so this may be an issue for people wanting to use it, although the inclusion of unlimited international calls an unlimited internet usage would be of potential benefit to international travellers. All in all, we have had a nice stay, although we personally would have preferred a more modern fit and finish to the room.
C.
Conveniently located. Just a few minutes from Paddington station if you are taking the Heathrow Express. Two different underground lines are nearby so getting around London is easy and Kensington Palace it a short walk away.
The room was nice, but extremely small. With two suitcases there was hardly room to move. The shower didn’t have a door or curtain, just a 6in piece of glass so everything in the bathroom got wet when using the shower.
R. P.
Fantastic staff, they were all very accommoding and friendly. The rooms are very tired and need updating. I wouldn't book there again as London has so many other hotels to choose from.
P. A.
We booked elsewhere but their boiler broke so we're transferred here. The rooms are tiny but it actually adds character the place. The staff are friendly and the foyer is beautiful. I would recommend this place do long as you don't need much space!
K. C.
Pros: fast, friendly and professional staff.
Cons: The room was so small we couldn't fit our luggage in there without climbing over it or eachother. The room was WAYYYY overpriced for what we got and the sheets had stains in them.
T. M.
Good value for money as cheaper than ***y of its neighbours. An easy walk to Oxford Street. Not offered an alternative or a refund for the breakfast I had paid for. The rooms while in the lower level were perfectly adequate and quiet. We look forward to our next stay at the Grand Royale London Hyde Park.
T. M.
We have just spent the weekend staying at the Grand and had a wonderful time. We reserved the Superior Double and were thrilled when they upgraded us to a Club Room. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is conveniently located near bus stop and under ground station.
V. D.
A very nice hotel with all the commodities you need. I stayed for 2 nights. The best place ever and I think personal they have the best personal , they are so polite and ready 24 hours just to serve you and help you with everything u need .... my favorite were Emma, Elena, Carmen, Boryana, Razvan and Mishu 100% the best people to have. Great thanks to all staff.
D. C.
Beautiful building, excellent service & lovely rooms. Enjoyed our stay here. Tried to book again for next year but it was booked up ☹ Would recommend.
C. S.
Booked in for chocolate cream tea with a Groupon voucher.
Tasty sandwiches and cakes.
Staff were all lovely and friendly.
Reasonable price and close to Kensington Palace. We walked the park area before crossing over for the cream tea.
K. D.
Great location and the staff is quite wonderful. The single room is a bit small for me but I'm a pretty big guy so I should have done a bit more research on the room.
M. H.
Room was not up to standard. Nice staff.
A. G. M.
Well located in Bayswater, adjacent to Hyde Park and steps away from Queensway and Bayswater Tube Stations and the 94 Bus (24 hour service). The 'Club Room' units are small, similar in size to a Cruise ship Cabin (Stateroom) - Air Conditioning is A+. Staff is friendly, but service quality level is mediocre.
T. M.
My best friend and I went for a Chocolate Afternoon Tea at Grand Royale Hotel yesterday and we had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I was afforded privacy, flexibility, attention and service at the highest standard of excellent that I am …
P. v. E.
The hotel is itself is ok. We had some trouble with the booking. The list the credit card information which almost caused us to lose the reservation. When we were there the showerhead was broken en leaking all over the place. The 2nd showed worked ok though. Later we found out the they charged us to much for the room. This was sorted out at the desk but not before a manager arrived. The rest of the staff are all trainees.
M. S.
It is a typical Bayswater hotel - very very tiny rooms. But it's clean and not run down. Great for a morning run in Hyde Park. Not a particularly lovely place but for location I give it 3.
m. d.
Room was a little small, bathroom was also small, but it was made up for entirely by the wonderful staff and the amazing food. The bed is also super comfortable.
H. H. B.
It is a good one at London standards.
Some weaknesses in cleaning.
There was a smell coming out of the bathroom. Thankfully they changed my room. Hospitality is great. Thanks to them.
P. W.
After being moved from a substandard room to a better option, with complimentary drinks while we waited...our stay has been fantastic. Breakfast was great & we still have afternoon tea to look forward to...
G. R.
Had afternoon tea with prosecco. Attentive waitress, plenty of refills. Sandwiches and cakes were excellent quality and more than enough for two.
W. K.
Very good quality for reasonable prices, and it is near to Queensway and Bayswater stations, so you will get quick access to West End, Oxford Street, the palaces. The rooms are quite new and clean. If you do the reservation by the hotel's homepage, you have a complete breakfast included.
R. S.
Hospitality is excellent, room is fine, it was small but for central london it was perfect. The room smelt damp and areas of carpet were damp too. Everything else, the bathroom, the breakfast and the service was perfect.
S. N.
Although we weren't staying at the hotel, we enjoyed some drinks in the lounge with some friends. The old woodwork and architecture was nice. Some tweaking to the lighting and decore could make this spot a real gem.
B. J.
Great place, easy walk from Queensway, the staff are extremely polite and reserved so you feel at ease but welcomed and catered for. The high tea was delicious and varied, with gentle Parisian music softly echoing in the background, a truly gorgeous experience, Melanie who looked after us was a truly wonderful person and I'd love to go back again.
L. G.
I went to the Grand Royale Hotel for afternoon tea - the chocolate one. The food was very tasty and the service was great. Our server always kept coming over to check we were ok and to refill our pots of tea. A very nice experience
S. P.
Stayed at this property in Oct 2017 with my family and we enjoyed our stay here whilst we were in London. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and, we would like to thank Kelly,Anifa,Julian and Hiraj for the excellent service provided. The rooms are well appointed ,comfortable and the hotel has a beautiful old school ambience about it, as it is a heritage listed property. The hotel is centrally located, close to all amenities and Queensway railway station is a 5 min walk from the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel for your next visit to London.
R. H.
Although the rates were good for the area, it's clean and modern, and the staff was helpful and accommodating, the rooms are just ridiculously small, and the bathrooms (hee water closet is the appropriate term) almost impossible to negotiate. But, if you can get past that, you'll enjoy the proximity you Hyde Park.
S. B.
Wonderful old world feel hotel with wonderful staff, modern rooms which were a little small but had everything we needed. The theatre bar is well worth a visit too.
L. S.
Really great place for the price. Friendly staff and good location. Rooms are a little small but not a huge issue if you are only after a short term stay.
T. M.
Rates we paid were cheap for London. My husband declined the room and said that as this was our honeymoon ( we married 22/10/16 ) we would prefer a bigger room. Hotel covered in scaffold and various excuses from the staff as to why we could not have the suite that was booked for us.
L. F.
Stunning internal decor. Wooden paneling.
A place where you might expect to find Sherlock Holmesnot the least bit contemporary!
Afternoon tea available. Minimally seven different types of tea on offer.
It has a very consistent reputation for friendly, helpful staff.
Visitors regard the hotel to be unpretentious in atmosphere.
Also, might I add, it is within easy walking distance of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain.
P. B.
Fantastic staff, went out of their way to accommodate for my 22 month old. Rooms are small but it can't be a complaint as you shouldn't be spending too much time in your room.
L. R.
Close to most attractions. Bus stop and underground very close by which made transportation around the city pretty easy. Staff was great and our entire stay was lovely! Would definitely stay here again.
A.
Old fashioned hotel near Queensbury tube station. Service was quick but due to the servers language barriers, they aren't too friendly which is a shame because that would have made the experience so much better. Food was pretty standard too
M.
A fantastic small to medium sized hotel in a great location only a 2 minute walk from Queensway Station and just a 1 minute walk to Kensington Gardens. The friendly staff were extremely helpful, a real gem of a hotel and I'd definitely stay here again!
I. y.
Afternoon tea here was nice. Pretty standard. The building was beautiful and was the highlight of our visit. They just don't use fabric for wall coverings like this anymore.
Z. V. V.
Small but cozy and good rooms. No noise of other rooms/outside, which is good. Friendly staff. All around a good hotel to stay for a citytrip
n. s.
We like this hotel nice style , British
It is really cosy, confortable
The staff is very good and careful
We are happy with our room
Sûre, it is small, but confortable and really good quality
We recommend
Enjoy this place
It is so close from Hyde park, good for nice walk and great pictures
As well, Subway is so close
C. T.
Very nice hotel.welcoming staff.excellent breakfast. Was upgraded two rooms but room was still quite small but good.would stay again
A. C.
I liked this hotel. The lounge is impressive with oak panelling, paintings and leather chesterfield setees. Rooms are not large but the prices are reasonable for London.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Had my afternoon tea there today and the girl served me was lovely 😊 Bought my voucher online and it was great value for what I had. Shame the front construction work wasn't finished. I love how the building looks and the interior 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 will stop by again 💜😋💜

Nice old fashioned hotel. Marked down one star as there was work going on and the dining room was closed... Which made for a very cramped breakfast in the downstairs room. Downstairs bedrooms have noise from the underground trains so ask for an upstairs room!
D. O.
Perfect for a short trip to london! The room wasn't really big but it was enough. Everything very clean and the staff was really friendly. If I'll go back to london i will definatelly book at this hotel again.
Z. B.
Good location. Rooms were clean but there was an 18th birthday party being held when I stayed and it was very noisy
N. M.
Great location beside hyde park and bayswater road for shopping eating out night life, Very helpful staff and good reasonable prices for London, Room bigger than most other hotels in London and Biscuits and water coffee tea making facilities in the room, can't fault it And will be back later in the year

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome.Lovely warm staff whom were very helpful. In fact this is the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in whilst in London. Its rooms have everything you require.Go for a club room for more space...they are well worth it.
D. C. P.
Beautiful historic hotel in super convenient location near Queensway and Bayswater stations. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Booked late and got good price, too, breakfast included. Highly recommend.
P. H.
Location was great, right near a Tube station and just off a main road leading into Piccadilly Circus and right next to Hyde Park. The room was very small but we only needed it for a place to sleep so it wasn't a problem.
D. J.
Love the decor and history. The rooms are clean and the staff care about what they do. I will definitely return again.
M. L.
Great location & friendly staff. Club room bathroom shoehorned in but did the job & it is london. Breakfast very good & plenty of it. Nice theatre bar & history.
A. S.
It is really beautiful place.
Standard hotel room is bit smaller but is got everything you might need.
The staff are friendly ,their breakfast is quite enough various and their decoration are absolutely amazing.
Welcome place and beautiful.
One thing to amend is maybe their price ,as they are bit expensive but is also understandable as they are not that far from central main attractions.
E. B.
Great Location, Historic reception hall and nice modern rooms. The Service is really top with Jullius always taking about you. Good and heatlthy options at breakfast
V. F.
The hotel nice but not really welcoming. For moments I didn't even think they care I was there. The place is nice nice but ux is needs improving.

A. A. J.
Nice hotel.. Rooms are a bit small but not annoying .. Well located in front of Hyde Park.. 10 to 15 minutes walk from Paddington station .. Staff are helpful and rooms are clean.
R. A.
Nice location close to the underground and to the Hyde Park. The size of the rooms is small like most of the surrounding hotels, I don't think it would be a big issue if you got a good deal
D. Y.
Afternoon tea was lovely. Service from the staff was great too, they were very friendly and inviting. The decor is stunning too. One of the best places we've been to for afternoon tea.
H. T.
Wonderful hotel. Great location. Small rooms but comfortably organized. Fun historic architecture.

Good location, clean well equipped rooms, but a little on the small side, very attentive staff, reasonable breakfast, well worth a try.
L. D.
Attending tea at the hotel was a delight. The service was excellent. The spread was unique and delicious. The environment was posh and interesting. All around a wonderful experience.
K. M.
Great location, lovely room. Would have been 5 stars if the glass shower screen had been a foot longer - too short and water went everywhere.
W. M.
Room is relatively small, bathroom is tiny. Location is great. Rooms are kept well tidy and staff is great. Didnt try the food
M. J.
Good cheap, clean place to stay in London. Rooms are small but you expect that in London. Central location. Bit of a queue at the 14:00 check in. Overall 4 stars from me

Quiet and clean area.

Very friendly staff, intesting lobby, nice rooms if on the small side bath in the ensuite. Very small shower screen so the floor gets wet!

Very clean with friendly service. Room was a little small and without a view. However, very good for the price!
B. A.
Clean and comfortable. Staff was very pleasant. Situated near one of the underground stations. Sensible prices for the rooms.
D. W.
Very nice decor but slightly overpriced for its location and room sizes. The fridge isn't working, the staff are friendly, the breakfast is ok but cold and without fried eggs or fried bread
K. H.
Enjoyed a Chocolate Afternoon Tea using a Wowcher deal. Quick and courteous service. There was a choice of 7 teas to be had and this was replenished. Any food not eaten was boxed up to take home.
B. G.

Rooms were small but compact and cosy
Breakfast was delicious
J. W.
Nice and cosy place to stay, rooms are small though, the staff are friendly and helpful. Near to Hyde Park and Queensway tube station, was well worth the money and stay. Will use again for further trips
K. J.
Wonderful, historic building across from Hyde Park. Close to tour buses, public transportation, Paddington Station and many tourist attractions. Smallish, but comfortable rooms.
J. G.
Good location. Great staff and breakfast is really good. Rooms are tiny and showing their age but good for the price in a pretty expensive city.
J. G.
2nd time staying at the hotel and it was as lovely as the first time. Friendly staff, comfortable bedrooms, great breakfast.
I. H.
Beautiful hotel with excellent service, there are many options for breakfast and they catered to us by offering soya milk as we are vegan!
J. C.
Booked an afternoon tea. Friendly service and lovely room, though a little dark. The selection was good and the price ok.
J. O.

The whole hotel needs to be remodeled. Room was too small.

I booked the Chocolate and Prosecco afternoon tea on Wowcher and it was definitely the best value afternoon tea I have had, lovely soft fresh sandwiches and brioche buns with the usual fillings you would expect, plain and chocolate scones with cream and delicious little cakes, a whole bottle of prosecco and several different teas to choose from
The Hotel is very grand in a similar style to the Ritz, very opulent and grand
Well worth a visit the staff as you would expect are charming
