Excellent stay: comfortable room with spacious area both to work and to unwind. Plentiful breakfast in a relaxing environment and excellent customer service delivered by William. Proximity to DLR Station makes it an ideal venue if you need to travel into the City - 18 minutes away.

Really comfortable bed and nice shower. Room was nice and clean in a nice quiet location. DLR royal Albert station is only 1 min walk away and this gets into central London quickly. Breakfast in the morning was tasty but did get busy about 9:30-10 am (Sunday). Staff were all very attentive during breakfast. Also they have a luggage room to store bags before / after checking in.

I was surprised just how good this hotel was. HIE has not always been a good fit for me, but everything about this particular hotel was absolutely spot on. Every member of staff was warm, welcoming and efficient. The room and the common areas were immaculate and the restaurant was informal and simple to understand with a limited but well prepared menu. Self service breakfast met the same standard. I would certainly stay here again if the need arises

The hotel standard was what you would expect from a Holiday inn express. Had a relaxing drink at the bar and ordered food in the evening. The evening meal was poor half the menu items were not available, ordered nachos that were bland and a …

Hotel room was roomy and very clean with large very clean bathroom and large shower. However, bed was uncomfortable to sleep in. Pillows were very hard and very high, very thick so they were impossible to sleep on, unless u like sleeping on your back facing the ceiling
Also the mattress protector must have been made out of plastic because the bed was very hot.
The room fluctuated between being very hot and cold all night
There is no dressing table, but there is a table and chair in the room against the wall, it would be great if they could put a mirror on the wall so people can sit and do their makeup and hair.
This may sound a bit petty but the colour scheme of this hotel is very much like of a travelodge.!
Breakfast was slow, food not replenished, we had to wait a while for baked beans bacon and sausages as soon as stuff came out it was taken
Dinner options don't look great here your typical microwave meals such as curry, chilli con carne, lasange, sandwiches ect. Lady behind bar recommended the pizza as they were freshly cooked, restaurant was empty however, zero atmosphere.
There are three other hotels next to this one such as Moxy and the Hilton you could eat in there although the menus were pretty similar. Moxy has a good bar area bit like a pub so we ate and drank there as there was a nice atmosphere, as
Tip ***bring your own drinks and snacks, there are NO shops within walking distance, a can of fizzy drink here costs £1.80 from vending machine and £2.50 behind the bar. Yikes!

Just returned from a fantastic 4 night stay at this hotel. Very clean and well stocked room. The staff absolutely make this hotel! The reception staff were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast staff, especially Lesley were amazing! Such a lovely team! Great service Holiday inn express! You’ve converted me from some of your higher star neighbours who you out perform!

The hotel is so lovely from the front desk staff to the restaurant staff, House cleaning etc. They are readily available to render a helping hand! Susan was great when I checked in. Did I forget something, there is a chance you get early checking if you ask. I love it here

Having had a flood at home and needing somewhere quick for a couple of nights I looked over the excel, HIE might not be the cheapest but for what you get is well worth paying the extra few quid compared to other hotels nearby, have stayed here before a few years ago and know its usually a good hotel.
Checked in and very nice lady on reception, got my son some colouring pencils and the placemats from the restaurant, all the staff we encountered have been fantastic.
The room ... family room with a sofa bed, sofa bed was actually really comfy and I did consider turfing the boy out, but the wife said no, the main bed was comfy enough though, room very clean, bathroom very clean, no faults found at all in that aspect, one little spot light out but that's just me being really picky.
Would i stay again ? Oh yes, if I didn't live 10mins away now it would be my go to hotel in the area again.

This hotel may seem a bit out of the way but it was great for our stay and visit down to London. It's only a few mins from the Royal Albert DLR stop or you can walk along the waterfront (30 mins) up to Canning Town and get the tube from …

I have mentioned in the comments how incredibly well we were looked after by Susan and her night service team. We were a late (post midnight) booking and arrival. We were treated to some excellent customer focused service, made to feel that …

Staff were cautious and proactive! Nice and warm smiles, and breakfast was fantastic! Kudos to Mo and the gang at the reception! Well done guys. Definitely looking forward to another visit!

Service was excellent and location is great, really close to the Excel centre. Staff was kind and the room was clean. I had an allergic reaction the second day of my stay which was a bit scary but the detergent they use must just be quite strong.

We decided on a last minute stay in London and found an great deal online. As a family of 5 we need 2 rooms, which bumps up the price, but this was good value, especially as breakfast was included. …

Stayed here for MCM Comic Con and had a great time. The staff are lovely, always very kind in dealing with requests for pillows and toothbrushes that we had either needed or forgot! The breakfast is solid, the food is replaced quickly and efficiently, and the reception area is very comfortable. The rooms are spacey and clean. Only issue is there's sometimes a bit of a queue at reception at peak times but is expected at a hotel. Loved our stay here.
J.
The hotel is handy if you have an early morning flight or arrive in late and need a sleep before continuing on with your journey. There is no shuttle service and the London taxis at the airport are not to happy to provide a 3 minute lift …

Our stay was good. I stayed with my family and we booked two rooms. Staff was helpful and cheerful.
Location is good.Breakfast was average, needs more vegan and vegetarian food options. I found dirt and rusting at the bottom part of shower frame. Drainage filters was dirty and not fixed in room no. 234. Tea bags were missing from complementary drinks.
In covid times fresh air ventilation/windows (which can be open) in rooms would be great. Rooms have fixed windows and central air conditioning.
S. M.
Hotel staff were super lovely, especially Beatrice & Mohammed. The hotel was great value for money, massive comfy beds & great shower. Breakfast was included and ample. I would have given 5 stars but the bar wasn't really 24hrs & it would have been nice if breakfast had vege sausage or mushrooms but really nothing to moan about. We had a great stay!

Value for Money, friendly staff , able to meet our need with a child.

Just returned from a lovely short stay there .The hotel has a great location minutes walk away from DLR station and Excel . It boasts its own safe parking area in an enclosed yard . The staff were lovely and friendly from Lina on reception and Lesley and Emily made breakfast an enjoyable experience. Our room was spotlessly clean with a really comfortable super king bed . Despite being so close to City Airport there was no noise at all . This is probably one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had for a long time .

Excellent friendly staff, always willing to go the extra mile. Hotel spotless, being cleaned constantly . Rooms comfy, nice bed, perfect for our small family. Easy access to DLR. Decent breakfast

Overall an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Staff very helpful and friendly, breakfast staff jolly.
Breakfast choice was good for a holiday inn and was hot and refreshed …

Spent time here and it was smooth and relaxing. Room was spacious and constantly cleaned. Breakfast was basic but very good for the amount paid. Easy access to DLR service at Royal Albert. Overall, it was a basic hotel but very very good compared to its contemporaries. Seem to have mastered that basicness....lol
k.
I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express. A clean room and comfortable bed is of importance to me and its what i got. It was close to the City Airport (walking distance) and to the conference centre. …
B.
The location is fairly remote as far as inner city London gets but that's fine as we planned specifically for that because of parking facilities. …
C.
Very welcoming and helpful staff and an excellent breakfast selection. Room was very clean and quiet and comfortable. Convenient to DLR station -- although local signage is not great, so get directions from the staff before setting out.
R.
I enjoyed my stay. The rooms are comfortable with a good breakfast. I disliked leaving a £30 room deposit, which seemed petty and distrusting, it's not what I'm used to having to do. Otherwise my experience was excellent and I'd stay again.
S.
Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. Great selection for breakfast, including vegetarian options and the staff always had a smile on their face. Would highly recommend this hotel and I would certainly return back.

Good points: staff are very friendly and helpful, hotel is close to the Excel centre, has car parking, room was clean.
Bad points: fan in the room cannot be stopped and is noisy making it difficult …

I booked two rooms at short notice at this hotel. It was generally good. The staff (especially those from ethnic minorties) were very friendly and helpful. Parking is available for £10 a day.
Checking in (Beatris) was smooth and welcoming. Checking out was easy.
The only slightly negative experience was that I wanted to take the breakfast to my room as my son was poorly and wasn't able to have breakfast downstairs. When I requested a tray to take the breakfast, the manager was upset and told me that no trays are allowed upstairs. I found this strange as there was no rule or sign saying this. If breakfast is included, the customer should have the freedom to take their breakfast wherever they feel comfortable. I suggest that either this rule is put clearly in the dinning area or customers should be allowed to take their breakfast to their rooms.
Apart from that, everyone was helpful.

Our stay was amazing! I loved the aesthetic of the rooms. The beds were exceptionally comfy and the rooms were both warm and cosy. The breakfast provided was really nice and fresh. The friendliness of the staff was excellent, in particular …

Good hotel, amaizing staff members, Aminata was very friendly and made us feel home, thanks to her and all the kitchen staff. Reception was very good as well always helpful 👍 👏

I have always enjoyed my stay at this hotel, couple of things were sort of average this time. We asked for adjacent rooms and we stayed ion the first floor which had a blue light keeping us up mostly. Also breakfast used to have fresh croissants but this time they were shop bought and I didn't enjoy them at all.
A. M.
Liked: The location is great, a five-minute walk from the Royal Albert DLR station. The breakfast service and choices were great and the A/C in the room was very welcome!
Disliked: The dinner service was very hit and miss, some meals came out burnt, other dishes were wrong and many options were unavailable. The meal policy also discriminates against teenagers, if you book half board for the entire party (as we believed we had) they will only include food for children under 12 yrs without paying a supplement. They happily serve adults and children under 12, what a ridiculous policy??? The double bed was a little too small for us!
V.
Everything about this hotel was great, the staff were soooo friendly it was amazing. The room was spacious . But they need hotel security at night, a line female having to deal with a bad situation is unacceptable for her and to have to deal with nightmare guests ruining other guests nights sleep
K. B.
Fantastic location, helpful staff & great breakfast. We love staying here when we visit London, especially if you can get a runway room!
R. S.
Love the room didn't realise just how far it is from central London but lots of transport food is plenty help yourself to breakfast as much as you want

I've just spent 11 nights at this hotel and it can't be faulted.

Not much to complain about other than being unable to manually turn off the extractor fan in the bathroom, is on all day from roughly 8am-10pm and when asking at reception they said they'd turn it off twice but never did. Other than that …

I only stayed for a night in this hotel but would definitely visit again and again. Fantastic arrangement for easy access for COVID safe, hygiene, comfortable bed and brilliant staff. Would recommend anyone who is attending any event in Excel due to easy access to event venue and transportation.

Had a lovely stay here last night. Its perfectly located for London City Airport, Canary Wharf and the rest of London via the DLR which is a few hundred yards away. Rooms were modern, had good facilities and you get a great free breakfast in the morning. Every member of staff was really friendly and the hotel was still nice and covid safe with guests being requested to use sanitiser and masks around the hotel. Sadly not everyone does this but the hotel are unable to enforce any more that they do. Overall a lovely stay.
T. A.
Wonderful three night stay, very friendly staff and service. Good breakfast, very clean room and other facilities. Had a lovely chat with front of house manager Victoria who is a credit to the company. Easy access to DLR. Will definitely use again.

The room was OK, but the food is certainly not as good as it should be. My curry was lukewarm and the naan bread was heated too long and had the texture of a ryvita.

Very nice hotel, very clean and tidy, rooms are fantastic, staff are very welcoming, but one thing have to say, one of the staff called Lesley in the breakfast lounge really gave us a very happy and charming welcoming, she was very friendly and helpful, just the kinda staff you need for a business.

The Hotal was clean and staff were very welcoming.
Car park facilities were excellent and a reasonable price.
The bed was very very comfortable and I slept amazingly on it.
J. S.
Friendly staff, functional room. Disappointed by the lamp being out. Slept well enough aside from the unrequested taxi call at 0630 wrong room. Breakfast was well stocked and varied
m. c.
Good value comfortable and pleasant hotel in good location. Parking on site for small charge and right beside DLR Station for access to London.

This is a great hotel, the 24-hour bar was a great addition to my stay. The air conditioning unit was rather noisy, but otherwise, I had a pleasant experience.

Staff pleasent rooms were good and beds were comfortable

Hotel was in a very good location and a peaceful area, accessible to ExCel and Royal Docks' cafes and restaurants. The hotel rooms were of a good size, well presented, very clean and with comfortable beds. The staff were also friendly and attentive. There is parking available at the back of hotel, which is expected.
The purpose of booking here was for my family meet up, so I booked 2 rooms. The area is great for walking next to the water and catching up with family.
Overall we had a very pleasant experience and can highly recommend this hotel. It also offers great value for money.

The impeccable cleaness and practical style of holiday inn. Well connected with DTL to the City in ~50 minutes. Handy if you have to take a flight from LCY next early morning. Bright and decently big public spaces. A good hotel to shelter to work between business in the City.
K. S.
Clean hotel but very small, also it's very far from center of the London. Expect to travel good 1 or 2 hours from hotel to all the tourist attractions.
R.
This hotel is ideal for location it is literally a couple of minutes walk from the DLR, and after a long day of walking around London, slipping into one of the comfiest beds was just perfect!

We stayed here for 3 nights great location near the Royal Albert DLR line which is a 2 min walk and you can get your ticket to ride into London the Emirates Air line is only a stop away and is easy to get around. The hotel is very clean and modern there was only one lift working so you can wait a while to get to your rooms. There is ample parking around 68 space but can get busy but they are always helpful In finding you a spot. Overall a very nice experience.
M.
Really good hotel, staff are nice and friendly with local knowledge. Location is great for access to London via DLR and 10 min walk to city airport. Rooms are nice, beds comfortable and hotel nice and clean throughout. Parking is available on site and good.
