What an unassuming and classy place. The ultimate combination. A relaxed spot with great mixologists and hosts. Can't wait to go back. Giuseppe and Abel topped off a fantastic evening for us!

Impeccable service with a special mention to Fatma of whom we had the pleasure of meeting during check in giving us the warmest of welcomes and really setting the tone at the beginning of our stay, and Emelie who beautifully decorated our suit for the special occasion - the attention to detail was superb!
The cafe royal is a stunning hotel in the perfect location with a team that go above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend when visiting London. The perfect hotel.
The spa is a must!
Thank you we will be visiting again soon

We went for the Van Gogh afternoon tea served in the Oscar Wilde Lounge. The menu was really good, the finger sandwiches were incredibly tasty and all quite unique from what you find else where, however the cakes were the true masterpiece! The cakes offered an amazing combination of flavours while being served as an art piece.
The surroundings are intimate and with a good atmosphere, also driven by the friendly and helpful staff! I would definitely recommend the Van Gogh afternoon tea

We have stayed in this hotel couple of weeks ago and had a lovely time.
Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Our room was really comfortable and we loved extra touches added to mark special occasion we were celebrating. Location couldn't have been better for site seeing or just strolling around central London. Breakfast was excellent and using spa afterwards just finished our stay off perfectly. We will definitely be staying there again when in London.

The Van Gogh afternoon tea will always be a memorable experience.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the Oscar Wilde lounge is absolutely beautiful and the attention to detail really makes the room something magical.
Marcin took great care of us and made the experience extra special.

We had a one night stay following Akasha spa aromatherapy massage and use of the pool, jacuzzi, hamam and sauna. Gabriella and Sabha were really wonderful massage therapists and very professional. Made us feel very comfortable. 60 mins definitely did not feel like 60mins… though I’m sure it was. The staff were all great and welcoming and the receptionist was very nice personable. It felt like all of the staff knew who we were which I was constantly amazed by. You can tell I don’t stay at places like this often 😅.
We were visiting as a surprise for my wife as it was her birthday and Valentine’s Day. They really went all out and left plenty of lovely treats and balloons. My wife really loved it so thank you to all the staff at the hotel. We were also able to check-in early and check-out late which was very helpful. We had the deluxe guest room and it was nice and spacious (though o wasn’t able to connect my device to any Bluetooth speakers in the room which I though would be possible (but didn’t have the time or patience to waste on that so let it be). The bathroom was amazing with a large tub and lots of space generally and the pillows were marshmallows. All round we really enjoyed our stay… If only we could stay longer.

My second visit and I can confirm this is undoubtedly the best hotel in the UK with very few competitors that comes close (I can only think of the Shangri-La). The decor and the quality of everything including the room cannot be compared to any other hotel. Every item in the hotel is carefully selected and has a story. This is what luxury looks and feels like. The service is impeccable. Hats off to the amazing staff behind all of this. The spa is beyond amazing and very relaxing. Easily the best spa in the UK with ESPA Life at Corinthia in second. This is where every detail counts. I would give it an overall 10/5 star.

Small selection of cocktails but the team were happy to consider any requests. Prices not bad but if you stray from the list be prepared to pay. Attentive and helpful staff, very good facilities. I would recommend for a quick pass through before getting train home or in between venues and will certainly visit again. There was live music this time around and it certainly created a good atmosphere.Having a Door man is a good feature makes the place feel special.

Very friendly staff in the bar the place to meet in the afternoon or early evening friends etc not been since pandemic but expect their cocktails still marvellous
M. A.
Perfect! The location is perfect and number of iconic places are walkable and close by a tube station.
The staff are super friendly. The doorman Mr. M. Tay-i’ is so helpful and helped us to navigate the city.

Outstanding service, especially the concierge! Rooms were nice, excellent location and amenities! Tea was perfect!

Impeccable service by every member of staff. We decided on a last minute overnight stay and rang the hotel direct to check their pet policy. Alexis the front office manager was exceptional, and offered us a great room rate and upgrade to a suite! It was my dog's birthday and considering we were there 3 hrs later the staff had provided us with a cot for my son, a dog bed and bowl and decorated the room with birthday balloons and chocolates. Such a personal touch and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Some 5 star hotels say they are dog friendly and then add a whole list of things you can't do and that's after paying extra money to bring your pet! Cafe Royal had no extra charge, allowed pets in the communal areas and restaurants and overall made us feel like vip guests. Cannot thank them enough for a wonderful stay.
M. F.
Stunning and beautiful place. The cakes and bubbles venue is Devine and I’m so glad I got a chance to experience Albert Adrià deserts. Please also note all staff at this venue are professional , friendly and ever so helpful.

If you love an afternoon tea, look no further..,!!
Cafe Royal is wonderfully decadent, and the food is delicious, and beautifully presented. The selection of teas is outstanding, and all taste amazing. It isn't cheap at roughly £65pp for their traditional afternoon tea but your surroundings and atmosphere are worth it!!
With a rich history, and frequented over the years by Rockstars to Royalty its well worth a visit, and perfect for that special birthday treat.
P. B.
Fantastic hotel in a brilliant location with every member of staff being fantastic. The rooms are lovely and the pool and spa are so nice you forget you’re in central London. Cannot wait to stay again and highly recommend
A. L.
I went to Cafe Royal for the afternoon tea, it was my third time at Cafe Royal. The first time it was perfect service with a warm welcome. However the second and third time it went downhill from there. The new staff are cold and very pushy while giving you the feeling that you are not welcome. I really love the Oscar wild bar and the sandwiches and sweets but I can get better service elsewhere. I was a regular customer but because of the poor service I can not justify the price you pay and the service you receive from the staff.
Update 2022:
The service has been improved more attentive and pleasant. The menu itself could do with some change. However putting a star up.
A. K.
Hidden Gem in London! wonderful place to come with kids. The service and attention to detail is beyond and above.
The staff and the manager Fatima all made sure we were comfortable at all time and specially the doorman who took care of our parking thank you to all
And thank you guys for the lovely Gift its awesome!
Will surely comeback and definitely recommend this Hotel to all our acquaintances.

We spent our wedding night at this beautiful hotel and could not fault the room, the room service (breakfast), the spa and pool area or the special touches in our room to help us celebrate. The COVID prevention measures were excellent and we felt very safe. This required pre booking a time for the spa, but we had the facilities almost to ourselves which was wonderful. The staff were excellent, warm and helpful. We would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to others.
I. R.
There are not enough starts for this place! Wow just wow!! Absolutely beautiful hotel, the perfect location and the staff were lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The food at the cake and bubbles restaurant is amazing, some of the best food I’ve ever eaten.
E. W.
Love the hotel and the service. Mustafa Taia was very helpful and kind while I waited for my taxi.
l. h.
Just had my second stay and if anything it's got even better! The building, the care, the details and most importantly the amazing staff. Every member of staff is helpful and thigghtful (special mention to the amazing behind the desk staff!)
T. R.
We visited a private function there, great staff, great venue, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
R. G.
The team at this opulent hotel are fantastic! From reception to the spa they are all fabulous. Also you feel very safe during the COVID pandemic :)
The cake and bubbles bar was fantastic, the team mentioned they are getting heaters next week, which I think is a great idea because at about 8pm it really got cold. The blankets were great but the team must have been cold!
The spa were fantastic too. Tedora was so lovely and really listened to what I needed.
r. c.
Very luxurious and spacious. The room was very comfortable with a huge bed. Fantastic location. Best food me and my family have ever had.
D. T.
Visited the bar... Attentive staff, cool vibe, best nibbles ever! Will be back 👍
D. T.
I had a fantastic afternoon tea at Hotel Café Royal. I loved the atmosphere, the service was amazing, the whole package was exceptional. I definitely recommend this hotel :)
A. N.
It’s been a while since I was in London. But few places in the world have the service and atention to detail that the Cafe Royale has.
S. P. M.
Fantastic hotel, brilliant service and a superb spa. Great location in central London with spacious, comfortable and well-designed rooms. The spa alone is worth a visit.
N. M.
Fantastic, superb, modern and clean hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Super convenient location for Central London. Thank you Cafe Hotel Royal for meeting all of needs ❤
d. l.
This was a last drink before home. I was with a friend. We were in the downstairs bar. When you walk through towards the bar you pass the cakes and bubbles bar. It's full of people enjoying afternoon tea. It's as if it's daring you not to come in. Throughout your meandering to the bar you pass all the glass cases full of designer shoes and handbags. All the things you can't afford. The bar itself was very quiet for a Friday but once again the service was impeccable. Waiter service and coats looked after if required. We know how expensive it can be in London so if you want cheaper champagne than some of the other 5 star places this is it.
M. A.
Nice hotel amazing stuff wonderful afternoon tea.
Y. K. H.
Luxurious afternoon tea experience. Took my wife here to celebrate our anniversary and we both really enjoyed it. Staff were attentive and the teas were lovely. They let us change our teas three times and kept on refilling our sandwiches. A bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for.
P. M.
This was a totally great experience. Served by profession friendly staff, who went out of thier way to ensure from the moment we arrived we were met with a warm welcome. The cocktails were unique. The best experience i have had. Congratulations to the staff who made my and my daughters joint birthday visit extra special, thank you so much it was a talking point all day and will be for a long time
I. H.
Went here for afternoon tea. Service was amazing. They treated us quite well and explained everything. The food came in two course. The sandwich course was very good. They were light and tasty. The second course was a bit too heavy and was quite sweet as well. Only had the tea there. Did not try the wines. The tea was good with a lot of variety to choose from. Everything was unlimited for 1.5 hours. Overall experience was wonderful. Just one star off for not liking the sweets as much.
A. S.
An excellent and serene place to relax and enjoy your favourite beverage. Service standard was very high on my visit with tables clean on arrival and time to take the order less than a minute. Melina on the till was especially gracious and made an excellent host with constant smiles to customers as they ordered! Good job!
S. P.
The afternoon tea is wonderful. The staff are amazing. The food is great. Highly recommended.
The set meal dining though is pretty low quality. Lowlights for me included burnt toast, overly rich meat and a tart that doesn’t even meet supermarket quality.
A. L.
We had our first afternoon tea experience in London here at Oscar Wilde lounge at Hotel Café Royal. The service was impeccable largely due to Estelle’s attentiveness and professionalism from start to finish. The ambiance is what one expects.. opulence with gaudy gold and mirror decor, soft piano playing in the background. The bill is not one for the faint at heart but you are paying for the ‘experience’! The meal itself was a delight and as memorable as it should be!
S. C.
We stayed at Hotel Cafe Royal for a short weekend break. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and gave us a tour of the hotel after we checked in. We were lucky to be upgraded to a deluxe room. The facilities were good, although the controls for some of the lights were behaving weirdly. The bathroom was very well equipped with all of the essentials and the shower was very nice. We haven't tried the restaurant so cannot speak about the quality of breakfast or other meals.
M. C.
Went there for dinner and it was amazing. Food was gorgeous and the room we ate in was so pretty. Waiting staff were so nice and had their own routine when serving food which made dinner feel just that more special.
P. G.
The staff was extremely nice and polite. They even got the chef to make cucumber sandwiches for my young niece. They also brought out mini pralines with a candle saying happy birthday for my sister as we were celebrating. The decor was outstanding. Will definitely go back when I am in London next!
M. N. S.
One of London’s best cocktail bars (the Green Room) at the hotel. We have stayed a few times at Cafe Royal. The rooms are clean and beautiful, food is ok , and a bit dark in the rooms. Front staff mostly very helpful, the doormen remember us every time we come which is nice. Wonderful location
S. S. K. V.
lovely theme. Great rooms, lovely service lovely menus, excellent staff friendly atmosphere. You gotta book everything early if you're planning to use the drinking bar at late nights. Lovely cakes and bakes
B. Y.
Apart from the ideal location. It is a touch noisy with drinks on the weekend. The staff are great but if you want a true relaxing hotel I wouldn't recommend this place. Prices are very high, I mean very very high but what do you expect for the location. I would say this is more of a hotel of someone who wants to show off. Not really practical.
O. J.
Once again we were more than delighted at the level of service we received this evening.
Merely returning for celebratory drinks- having been married at the hotel a year ago today we were more than looked after by Francois, Oscar and Abel who went above and beyond to ensure we still felt part of the HCR family even after all this time.
We will be returning for Christmas and only wish we could repay the utmost kindness this wonderful establishment
never fails to show us.
Family. Home from home.
Thank you all.

Amazing afternoon tea!
Having lived in London all my life, I can say that this is one of the best afternoon teas in the capital. The food is great, the staff are so friendly and have that ‘personal touch’ which you don’t tend to get at these other big places in central London which have gone downhill since they don’t prioritise customer service. This place is just perfect and makes you want to come back again and again.
N. B.
Beautiful location, modern interiors, spacious rooms and most importantly and impressive is hotel staff. The service was impeccable. Duty manager that greeted us, Magnus Simonsen, was absolutely excellent. During our stay stay he made us feel very welcome and special. Attention to detail, friendliness, foreseeing certain situations made him stand out from. I must admit, that everybody who works in the hotel exceeded our expectations by their friendliness, attentiveness and hospitality. Thank you every body for making our visit unforgettable.
A. D.
Recently had afternoon tea in the Oscar Wilde room. Absolutely fabulous! Amazing decor in the room, the staff were incredibly helpful. There was a wide selection of tea available, some really unusual but delicious flavours. The afternoon tea itself was enormous, more than enough food and all very good. A couple of the items were experimental, not sure if I was a fan of the absinthe macaroon but it looked beautiful!
R. G.
Taken for afternoon tea by my granddaughter. Lovely tasty choice of food and cakes. Everything on offer was presented beautifully even down to the delightful tea strainer.
A big plus was the flowers in a bag presented to all the mothers/grandmothers on Mothers Day.
J. S.
Beautiful hotel with some stunning decore.. BUT, I feel that some of the staff could dial it back a little. As I was challenged, some what judgingly, as to why I was in the reception, by an over zealous lobby sercurty man. I understand you have high profile clients and my particular brand of designer clothing may have been not to his taste. But a guest. Is a guest.
M. H.
Nice ambiance, great place for breaks after or during long of shopping/walking around Soho and shopping district. Great selection of cakes and good herbal infused tea. Front of house staff was friendly, waiters could get a bit busy so you might need to call them over to take your order etc..
A. S.
Visited this restaurant for brunch, food was cooked to perfection and staff were very attentive. Would definately visit again! Trying the pop over bread is a must! The dessert menu however doesn't have much of a variety but the overall vibe and friendliness of the staff more than makes up for this!
S. B.
Very polite staff and very welcoming! The room are cosy and clean . Great view. Totally go for it .
K. W.
I held my 60th birthday here with a few girlfriends. It is a wonderful place to visit. The staff were excellent food was too. Even the pianist played Happy Birthday. Would recommend this place to family and friends.

I loooove this hotel, I stayed in a suit for one night, the room size is good and the bathroom is big with a marble bathtub i loved the tray touch to put your iPad, your drink, and enjoy your relaxation time. Great service, the breakfast was delicious, and the location is in soho near the shops and restaurants. Coming back again ❤️..

One of the best hotels I've stayed at. Lovely service, boutique hotel feeling, wonderful rooms and the best location in London. Can't wait to go back.
K. s.
By God do I love this hotel. If I had unlimited money, I would live here every single day for the rest of my life. What a hotel, what gorgeousness. I have no more superlatives to use. Kudos to the architects and interior designers, what an impressive build.
S. R.
Love this bar - attentive staff, great surroundings and fab cocktails - cheers!
E. H.
Excellent hotel and staff. All the facilities you need are here including spa, swimming pool, sauna and gym. The staff are all very charming and proffesional. Special thanks to Noelia , Olivia and the other staff who's names I noted, but lost the paper. The breakfast was also to die for. See you again.
K. M. C.
Beautiful hotel. Interior was delightful and staff were attentive. But the lunch served at our corporate event was sub par (lukewarm and tough piece of chicken) and the ac was set to subzero. These events cost a lot to run so I'm surprised that the hotel didn't pay more attention to the guests. They probably assume that the corporate host is indifferent. Shame.
B. K.
Friendly staff, beautiful interior and awesome location. Walking distance to Chinatown, great for Asian travelers who missed home food. Room is very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there. Will definitely return again!
J. M.
Met for drinks with friends in the Green Bar. Very busy, and small bar with table service. Was a nice evening. Staff very friendly and very good service. It was however, extremely noisy. Bar staff shaking cocktails, people talking loudly. It became almost unbearable.
Great to meet for an evening if you have lots of cash. I was drinking one of the cheaper drinks at £13 pounds for a basic Gin and tonic.
L. M.
Went here for an afternoon tea which we really enjoyed!
The sandwiches were delightfully varied and sumptuous, and the pastries at the end went down a treat! However, although I loved the premise of the chocolate scone I found it was a bit dry for my liking.
Still, as afternoon teas go, Café Royal's offering is one of the most pleasurable available
A. C.
3rd time visited the Hotel Cafe Royal for afternoon tea. Excellent service with very good quality food. I would say the service was better than many other 5* hotel I have been. Very lovely room with such rich history behind it. Definitely will visit again!
J. K.
Attended the hotel for a professional event. The decor was very classic and comfortable, and the service was attentive. Food and drink provided was excellent. Spaces are a bit compact and rooms and heat up if filled with attendees however.
K. C.
The bar will be opened again on 9 Nov 2021.
K. C.
A great place to have high tea. It’s expensive (45£ + VAT & service charge for basic package, add more to include champagne and/or candle as a gift), and you must make a reservation. It is very classy, though: you get as much tea and as many sandwiches (both salty and sweet) as you want. They have high quality and fancy teas: I had the Oscar and another oolong one: both were lovely. Live piano player. You feel like royalty. Apparently Oscar Wilde spent time here, and things are named after him.
M. A.
Our host, Fares, was very welcoming and attentive, and advised my girlfriend and I, what to eat and drink. All three courses were exceptional, the highlight being the Wagyu Beef, which was exquisite. The wine coincided very well with the food. I will definitely be returning soon!

This was my 4th stay in hotel cafe royal .. everything is amazing the location , the staff , the rooms and rest rooms are comfy and clean. They always surprise you with chocolate and fruits. My nephew was sick we went to the hospital they arrange a taxi for us and when we came back we found this little lion with notes on his bed .. so adorable ♥️
J. Z.
It will be my fifth stay here. A very high level of service with beautiful modern and spacious rooms. Excellent location as well. Probably more suited to leisure than business trips though, as some of the rooms don't have a desk (a small table instead), and if you want an iron you have to request it every time.
M. W.
Mother's Day lunch - interesting menu, well cooked, although a little too "artistic" for my taste - the dessert occupied the edge of one quarter of an otherwise empty plate. Service excellent. Ambience and decor great.
J.
Beautiful hotel, plush rooms - grand and luxurious but not flashy, and although steps away from the busy crowds of piccadilly circus this place is an oasis of calm and elegance. The restaurant, Laurent is excellent - perfect for a business lunch or special occasion.
T. M.
We enjoyed our afternoon tea very much the service was very good. But not a place to take a 90+ as chairs very low. Came out with bad backs. So guess I'll be giving it a miss. Apart from this I could not fault it.
M.
Excellent location, amenities and rooms. The only down fall is the service, reception staff were overwhelmed, we were checking out from 2 rooms and moving into a suite, they made us check out at 12! And were only able to offer us the suite at 7 pm!!
I would suggest hiring experienced staff.
D. B.
Afternoon tea, birthday treat for the wife. The Oscar Wilde Bar was amazing, with gold leafing, low glow decor and mirrors. Service was impeccable through the three main courses. First was a selection of fingers sandwiches and rolls, second was pastries with clotted cream, jam and lemon curd, third was sweets. There was a vast selection of tea to choose from and you could have more of any food or tea you liked... The ambiance was set with pianist and a history lesson. A guy smartly dressed in red rang a bell for your attention and gave a small informative speech on the history of Cafe Royal, it's list of celebrity clients and the surrounding area. A nice touch...
To finish there was a sweet trolley with more cakes. As we had no room we were offered a take away box and bag so we could eat them later. Overall a great experience and although it was pricey (£100 with service charge and a tip) I felt it was worth every penny.
A. R.
Amazing place. Chilled relaxed. The service is impeccable. Derren the Bar Manger was informative, engaging and a lovely guy. Had a whiskey tasting masterclass. It's a refreshing change to go somewhere where people actually care you enjoy what your drinking. All the staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended, better to go here and have a chat with an expert who's passionate rather than pay over the odds at a festival where people don't really care. If you have an appreciation or want to gain some knowledge visit this little gem in the heart of london. Thanks to all there for a great night!
A. N.
Lovely Afternoon Tea at the Oscar Wilde lounge. We had an amazing afternoon surrounded by the beauty that that room has got.
The service was excellent and our selection of teas and foods were excellent. Great value for money, too!
A. S.
Not an obvious location, but all the amenities are super well-managed, very quiet rooms even those facing the Regent STR... big counterintuitive surprise! Rooms are very spacious and equipped with all latest tech stuff you may need! Definitely AAA rating!
R. M.
We absolutely loved having afternoon tea here! It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end! It’s not 100% traditional, but that’s part of why we loved it! Everything was delicious, and the venue is absolutely gorgeous!
K. M.
At the entrance to the foyer, a charming man greeted us and swiveled the rotating door on our behalf and directed us to the London Craft Week event that we were there for. The foyer and elevators were exquisite and the small room we had our meeting in had its own bar. We were greeted at the door with champagne and the discussions were fascinating. Thank you to the courteous staff we encountered during our brief visit
D. J.
Outstanding service… Amazing staffs
K. I.
The staff were very attentive, couldn't do enough for you. The room was beautiful and the food was delicious. Maybe not for people who only enjoy their chocolaty desserts though.
Our visit was for a 60th birthday celebration, which I casually mentioned on the OpenTable booking. Towards the end of our sitting the manager came over with a little plate of chocolates with a candle, which was a nice touch.
When the hotel rang to confirm our booking, we were informed that we only had the table for 1.5hrs. We probably overstayed by 15mins but weren't made to feel unwelcome or explicitly asked to leave.
J. S.
I always enjoy coming here as a starter to a night out. The bar is low key and a great place to relax. Peanuts and olives are provided and the drinks are created with a nice touch.
G. C.
Lovely building.
Service was a bit weird, staff passing us off to each other, forgetting things etc.
The afternoon tea was unexciting and disappointing with the exception of the cream scones. The vegetarian afternoon tea was pretty awful.
P. S.
Excellent hotel with a great cafe and bar, which is probably how it derives it's name. Location is prime, about 100 yards from Piccadilly Circus. The reception area and the entrance is a tad small for a 5 star property, but apart from that, everything is elegant and rich. Had coffee, which tasted like any other, but the overall ambience and environment was very much worth it.
A. M. J.
Good food - you pay a premium but it's reasonable when you consider the location. Atmospheric and steeped in history. Just think, Oscar Wilde used to hang out here. (Please 'like' this review if you find it useful.)
J. Y.
I went to the restaurant situated on the 1st floor, named after it's head chef Laurent. The menu was exceptional. The staff were attentive with excellent service and the decor extemely grand. They have a few tasty cocktails too!
A.
I stayed in the hotel for 2 time, it’s one of the best hotels in London and I tried many hotels over the last 10 years. Clean , easy access and near all attractions and routes and just opposite to the underground and bus stop. Amazing breakfast, amazing food menu, gorgeous staff.. would recommend to everyone I know and would probably be here again
L. J.
Ten room usually be my back up plan and I always recommended to friends or clients. Not just because of the convenience location, but the veal steak is even better than hawsmoor just crossed the road.
I remembered how often I used to love to visited after work and the team always gives us amazing service. that's the reason I chose the restaurant right after I decided to take my younger sister for her birthday dinner. Our host is a lovely lady, also sweet enough to surprised us with the birthday song singing along with her colleagues and a candle on my sister's dessert.
The restaurant was very full in the Friday evening. Although I didn't find any familiar faces in the team but I found the menu completely changed right after I seated. We ordered the lobster and salads as starters, and veal chop for mains.( After triple confirmed by the waiter who looked after us, The veal chop will tasted same as the veal steak I always have before.) I was extremely disappointed after it served on the table. Not just looks like over cooked, the meat was so chewy and scratched the threat while swallowing. After same waiter takes our orders for the dessert and with very awkward questions/jokes from him, we tried the desserts both regreaded didn't take it as main course.
Sadly after this special occasion dinner experience, I probably would not come back again.
D. C.
Really like the aura of this bar. Music is not played to loud so can actually enjoy conversations. The bar offers very interesting cocktails and traditional drinks. The sitting areas are quite comfy and one can sit by the bar

I knew this place would be amazing upon booking with Patricia- she was very informative and made me feel welcome!! It was a lovely experience at the spa. I look forward to returning. I loved the vibe of the spa and food was also delicious.
A. W.
Just fabulous. look nice, taste good. Expensive but you may find it is worth. I had salmon with avogado salad.... was lovely. I'd like to try other cakes and chocolate next time. It's one of favorite cafe right now!
A.
The Oscar wilde room for Afternoon tea is breathtakingly beautuful; probably the most stunning of venues. The staff and quality of the afternoon tea they serve here does not match the standard. For the price you're paying, definately not your moneys worth. Stale bread, very little filling in some sandwiches and worst of all dry cold scones! The staff were incredibly offstandish when I pointed this out, and ended up misplacing our coats and those of several others diners. Definately worth seeing the venue. But £200plus for 3 people for average afternoon tea is quite dear.
S. J.
Amazing hotel with lovely cafe. Best cakes outside of Paris. Green Room is a great bar to unwind in after a show. And beautiful toilets! Highly recommended.
A. L.
On the first floor there is a room that has a bar in which different functions are undertaken. I have been here before for an Art Macabre session and a Poet in the City event. The events were great but the door man/men and hotel staff in general were not the friendliest... (but i was running half an hour late to these events)... so perhaps they had a reason to tut me... oh well...
G. W.
Great service. Wonderful hotel. Perfect location. We've stayed here many times and absolutely love this place. Rooms are nice.Beautiful bathrooms. Lovely view of Regent street. Perfect hotel.
M. C.
My wife and I had afternoon tea at the hotel - great experience. The tea and food was amazing. Enjoyed the atmosphere of the Oscar Wilde room and staff including the great piano player.
J. F.
Really lovely place. The staff are really helpful. I ordered a cocktail which I really did not enjoy and the staff took it back and brought me an alternative without fuss. Gorgeous atmosphere. Door staff are really helpful too
A. E.
This 5 star hotel is a gem in Soho. Conveniently located near Leicester Square and Selfridges, I never have to travel far to get where I want to go once I have arrived. Rooms are very spacious for London standards (and for any city for that matter). The spa and large downstairs swimming pool are magnificent. They play music under the water for you! Breakfast was not included and pricey but what you'd expect and was delicious! Service is pleasant, they really try to make you feel at home.

Very enjoyable experience dining at The Cafe yesterday evening for my mum's birthday. I had the 5-course menu, 'Sarah in Wonderland', with accompanying wine pairing. The presentation of every dish was exquisite, with an exceptional attention to detail typical of a Michelin-starred restaurant. The stand-out dish from this menu was the 'Mad Hatter', a heady mix of chocolate and cherry kirsch with a smattering of edible gold leaf - simply divine. Although not on my menu, the 'Jaffa Cake' from the 4-course Pick N Mix looked incredible, with its miniature red and white chocolate toadstools placed among pansy flowers and chocolate soil. A final word for the staff: the waiters and waitresses who were courteous and extremely friendly throughout, and the doorman who brought an umbrella to our taxi before we'd even opened the door. Thank you all for a brilliant evening :)

Good service, pleasant teas and juices...fantastic range of hot chocolates including white Hot chocolate, delicious biscuits but left disappointed by the cakes. The Granola strawberry cake was very tough and did not quite compliment the succulent soft strawberries and marshmallow
M. A.
Fantastic hotel, great location with lots of restaurants, entertainment and shopping all around. It was totally renovated in 2012 with very large rooms and bathrooms. Excellent service and very nice staff. Stayed in it several times and it is one of my top choices.
S. A.
Fantastic stay although the regent suite we stayed in didn't look like the one on the website, our butler however went above and beyond for us to make our weekend extra special. Can not thank him enough!
서.
Went to the cafe royal for a cup of tea.
If you are belong to the loyal family of Great Britain, then yes come and enjoy one of the finest desert of this country. If you are not, save your money for better dinner cuz these are extremely expensive for the afternoon tea.
R. S.
the best hotel in london, it is our second time in the hotel and we are definitely go back next year .
excellent location, we stayed at the junior suit that was very very big , the bath and the bad are the best !!!
excellent service - I want to mention Effie who remembered us from last year and surprised my wife with a cake for her birthday and of course everyone one else in the hotel that were friendly , warm and help us with everything.
M. G.
Absolutely exquisite! The service, staff and food were exceptional. The main entrance is a little confusing but the hotel will be addressing this with a refurbishment soon. A truly wonderful experience.
C. T.
Fantastic Hotel! Friendly staff, great service and reasonable price. The rooms are really nice and clean. Comfortable bed rooms, clean bathrooms overall great experience. Highly recommend Hotel Cafe Royal.
G. K.
Beautiful rooms, great design, super quiet, highest quality materials, spacious. Exceptional restaurants. Afternoon Tea at The Grill is a must.
T. M.
Staff were extremely friendly, the decor of the hotel is really good. The hotel gym is well equipped. Very convenient location, short walk to the underground and major attractions
M. H.
The waiter was very nice and gave us details about which celebrities frequent there. I found the 1.5 hour time limit too short for the price of afternoon tea - we also went to fortnum and masons and they did not have to kick us out after 1.5 hrs - it being relatively the same price, I don't think it should be that short. We were meeting friends in London for the first time, the time slot felt too short. The next time we go there, I think we would not come back due to the time constraint.

Very good hotel 🏨 👌 👏
T. L.
I popped in with my wife for cocktails after dinner and met Derren and his team. Even though we do not drink alcahol, the team made us feel so welcome and were more than happy to host us at the bar. Seeing all the action up close was treat amd they evem made us some bespoke mocktails, unique to personal our tastes. Thank You for an amazing Date-night!
J. R.
I went there for a company event: the pompadour room was exceptional Service was high standards and still personable.
Special mention to Stephen on our waiters who was outstanding.
R. S.
Went for my birthday for the beautiful oick n mix menu in the café. Delicious food, made to feel really special and amazing service. Great cocktails too! Definately recommend
M. F.
Afternoon tea here for Mother's Day was fantastic. Service couldn't have been better. Food was teriffic and the pianist set the perfect mood.
K. G.
My husband and we’re treated by our son to the Queen of afternoon teas as part of our golden wedding anniversary celebrations,it didn’t disappoint ,an incredible experience creating precious memories ,outstanding service ,a truly luxurious and indulgent experience 😀
n.
Amazing afternoon tea and amazing service. They were very kind and made you feel welcome. I had a wonderful experience and I strongly recommend!
F. L.
Food and service were good. The set menu was underwhelming, but the more pricey a-la-cart was delicious. The service manager took extra care to be pleased when we provided feedback.
J. K.
If you are looking for a good afternoon tea, with an excellent service and place, located on one of the popular streets in London, that is the place. Do not expect it to be cheap, but worth it. Depends on the time you want to visit, might be a good idea to have a prior booking, especially if it is for few people.
G. G.
Onw of the must visit places in London for a coffee and few of the famous sweets. Nice atmosphere, extremely helpful and polite staff and amazing tastes. Quite in a central location so it is very easy to visit it.
נ. ב.
Prime location next to Piccadilly square, in Regent street, one step from Soho with it's theatres, bars, clubs and restaurants. Most friendly, polite and attentive team any where at the hotel, starting from the door men, concierge, reception, restaurants, even seccurity. Big and clean rooms with a huge bed and royal feeling bathrooms, all marvel, both a shower and a bathtub. Truelly luxurious feeling!!!
A. L.
The staff was kind, and we're always ready when you needed them. The tea was amazing, and the foods were great, too.
J. e. b.
Was quite drunk when I booked the room there and was wearing some honestly pretty dirty clothes, so I wasnt surprised that the people in reception were a bit skeptical about me staying there.
Later in the night i asked the concierge about some cool clubs around town and he had absolutely no idea other than a club which some call "the worst club in London" and "not a club". Later on, in my drunken state I accidentally went into the pool area while it was supposed to be closed for maintainenc. The following morning two big looking dudes came into my room to "check the minibar" which I assume was them checking if i had stolen anything. Which is fair I guess, but they could have easily waited for the breakfast guy to come. Anyways, then the phone in the room rings and the guy says "What would you like for breakfast" and I said what are the options, and he said "Anything you would like!" and I said "Daaaamn man anything in the world??" and he said they would try. So I had the best breakfast ive ever had in my life, a full english but with eggs benedict instead of non-benedict eggs and an assortment of fruit that looked like it was from a science fiction movie. And a member of staff let me use his personal laptop to write some emails on, but i would assume they had a guest pc, so all in all, 3 stars for the hotel as a whole.
Z. C. C.
High tea experience, lovely room on the ground floor with mirrors on all walls and low seating with tables. Shame there is no natural light and that their seating is so low. Good tea and sandwich selection.
H. Y. L.
Lovely hotel with beautiful interior, very central location with good service from staff. Literally just around the corner at Picadilly Circus and very close to shopping streets. Rooms were well designed, very modern and spacious. Food and breakfast excellent.
G. W.
A superb afternoon tea of a quality second to none. Treated like royalty by all the staff, and a special mention to Zakaria for his kindness and courtesy towards us. Some might say that £55 a head is expensive, but when you consider that M & S want £25 a head to have a limited amount of food and one pot if tea at a table in a shop, the price at Cafe Royal is a bargain, with unlimited food and tea as well as a few glasses of Veuve Cliquot champagne. Thanks to all concerned for a truly memorable afternoon!
J. R.
We stayed at Cafe Royal for one night. We loved the spa, the location, zen corridors, and most importantly the amazing caring and attentive service from the entire team who made this weekend a very special occasion.
M. H.
Nice atmosphere, pleasant service. We had enjoyable evening, however a bit downside was food which wasn't as great.
A. A. B.
Not only it has a centrally great location & the largest room you’ll find in London. Their highly professional staff are charming , welcoming & punctual. Had a great stay
D. M.
We had a take away coffee from the new coffee shop. Similar prices to normal highstreet brands but you get expert barista's making you a delicious coffee. Their cakes looked incredible. Well worth a try.
J. G.
Amazing personalised cocktail by Lucca. I went to HCR a few years ago and had a delicious lemon cocktail. On my return last week I was looking forward to repeating the experience but the cocktail was nowhere to be seen on the menu. I asked Lucca the Barmen if he knew the one I meant; a mix of lemon, champagne and egg white but Lemon Drop or French 57 were not it. So he said he would make it for me from my description. I had little faith thinking it would be to sharp or too sweet but the result was perfect even better than my memory of the first one. He gave the recipe which will remain secret! I hope to replicate it using my fresh lemons from my tree in Spain. Thank you so much Lucca!

Elegant place. One felt very welcome even after my ice skating and not dressed up I received a beautiful service. The quality of my tea was very good and my honey little pots the little biscuits etc,I take pleasure in the small details it all made me feel so warm and relaxed.
Q. L.
super pretty cakes, amazing service, however some of the cakes are too sweet for me. the black tea cost 6 pounds which is same price as a pint of ale, shocked me
S. P.
Excellant cocktails.Bar team warmed to us after our Negroni and Martini.Nice intimate setting in the Green Bar. Will definately return soon.

A wonderful afternoon tea, with amazing staff Estelle and Jenny.
Beautiful room and live piano.
Exactly how it should be.
Thank you ladies!
S. D.
Although I was only visiting to speak at a conference, I was seriously impressed with Cafe Royal's refit; a stunning space full of calm Art Deco details from masses of pastel flowers to high ceilings and a conference room (the Pompidou) with baroque ceiling! Staff were a tiny bit unhelpful - one didn't know where the cloakroom was - but very impressed with the perfect cappuccino and interesting canapes, such as bite-size Eggs Benedict.
J. S.
An elegant hotel and venue in the heart of London, on Regent Street. Opened in 1865 Cafe Royal's reputation goes back to the turn of the last century and was a well known watering hole for many literary luminaries, including Oscar Wilde, Arthur Conan Doyle, H G Wells, George Bernard Shaw, Rudyard Kipling, W B Yeats, Walter Sickert and James McNeill Whistler, who were all patrons. Today Cafe Royal has the sort of service and excellent standards that are not so easily found anymore. A superb hotel and venue.
j. n.
Wonderfull hotel with large fully modernised rooms - very good service delivered by a truly caring staff - Nice and cosy gin bar with a large selection - fantastic pastryshop on the groundfloor, accesible directly from the Street. The hotel is an excellent base for shopping and sightseeing in the center of the city
C. G.
Brilliant, wonderful experience having afternoon tea. Definitely a must when you get the chance although you have to book well in advance
A. A.
Great location for the afternoon tea awards. Beautiful service and food. Fantastic renovation, beautiful rooms. Looking forward to using the restaurant, Laurent.
P. F.
Although admittedly in need of refurbishment and revamp, I find the new look Cafe Royal to be cold, clinical and corporate - three things this bohemian drinking hole should never be! Now a luxury hotel and bar, it feels like a banker's playground rather than a home for rakes and poets.
Only the "Oscar Wilde Bar", formerly the Grill Room, retails the 19th century opulence. The other bars, especially the Green Bar, are modernist and lacking in a certain style. Admittedly, the choice of drinks is excellent, and you won't find a better Absinthe menu in London - but the service was below par, with no explanation of the water fountain and serving style (thankfully I already knew the method, otherwise a costly drink may have been spoiled).
This glorious building has a lot of potential, and I hope that they continue to invest in it; with work, it could become on of THE must-go places in the West End.
d. b.
Was there for work very nice place .
M. S.
Great location for a cliche tourist, we really enjoyed our stay. Amazing staff.
J. H.
It's probably too early to review the Cafe Royal, it having only just reopened, and still many of the most impressive spaces are not yet open. I went to the bar, the one simply called "The Bar". It's on the ground floor, has modern decor, and was to my tastes somewhat bland. Both "The Bar" and the Ten Room next door (their contemporary "brasserie style restaurant") were next to empty. I suppose in fairness it was a Monday evening, but I had expected a bit more buzz, considering the reopening was so recent, and it was just a couple of weeks before Christmas. The famous Grill Room, as frequented by Oscar Wilde et al, was yet to be opened, and I heard varying reports from staff that it would either be open next week, or next month. I did manage to get a glimpse of it, and it does have an impressive ornate gillded ceiling and walls, although in the state I saw it there wasn't yet any furniture. It sounds like this is destined to become a Champagne bar which does sound promising.
They made a pretty respectable Negroni in "The Bar". Cocktails there are typically around the £14 mark. The staff were smart, professional and friendly. I look forward to revisiting when the Grill Room opens.
F. H.
Beautiful hotel with good service. The breakfast is little poor and not that much delicious. , Spa is small but it’s ok.
S. C.
Had a wonderful time celebrating my mums 70th. Grest friendly staff, wonderful live pianist.
S. M.
Come here for afternoon tea and ordered a £28 afternoon tea set with 2 mini sandwiches, 2 slices of cakes and 2 fruit scones. It's a reasonable price and it provides a high quality of cakes and must try the fruit scones with their special jam.
N. C.
Our very special place. Made even better by the amazing staff
A. M.
Love this place,never dissapoints
M. B.
I attended for a professional event. Staff were very friendly, curtious and helpful. The function room was very tastefully decorated and it made for an all round pleasant experience
A. G.
If you like cocktails this is the place to come (bar). Despite turnover of staff (10 yrs), they seem to recruit or train to the highest of standards.
M. Y.
I've tried the chocolate and orange cake and caffe latte. Loved both of them. Excellent quality and the latte was just perfect. The place atmosphere is very relaxing.
S. I.
Incredible bowie bar. Ziggys was great atmosphere mixed with a dash of cool music and potent cocktails. I would go again.
T. A.
Stunning Hotel. Faultless. Perfect.
J. P.
Amazing place, the Papillon restaurant is of the highest standard, the room is like a dream and the staff is perfect. Definitely recommended. PS: the SPA is incredible.
M. H.
The décor is amazing, you could be on a movie set, very art déco, though be warned it's not cheap, you go for the level of service and the quality of the drinks, not a bargain. Staff were great.
R. W.
Exceptional old meets new hotel....great staff in an exceptional location if you want to walk out and instantly be in the middle of it all.... Loved it. My new favourite hotel in London.
C.
Current hot tea break spot in central London with its classy art deco and heritage structure. They also have a cabaret show in their very own member's club that you dont want to miss it.
Y. L.
The live piano show is really fantastic. You can have a relaxed tea time and enjoy the atmosphere here as if you are the noble.
F. P.
Very reasonable set menu offer when booked online. Starter and mains were mind-blowing. Dessert a little lackluster but still tasty.
F. J.
One of my favourite hotels in London. Perfect and very quiet rooms. extremely friendly staff. you feel very welcome.
J. C.

T. M.
Cafe Laurent in Hotel Cafe Royal is the best restaurant experience I can remember having. Amazing menu. Great decor. And the service is fantastic.
E. G.
Lovely hotel located in the middle of everything important in London. The only critisism is the reception staff uniforms for ladies are the wrong colour.
C. C.
Such a pleasure to deal with.
Professional at all times.
We look forward to visiting them soon.
C. W.

A. B.
Excellent service in a beautiful place, you can feel history in there. The tea was delicious! Love it!
J. d. H. A.
It's a little pricy and the waitress took her time but the coffees and scones we has were well worth the wait. Very recommendable.
H. L.
went to have afternoon tea several times and always had the most marvelous time. between the food, the place itself and the staff I would definitely be coming back!
S. R.
Great location, stunning interior, but I met someone for an informal business meeting in the lobby cafe, after a few minutes we decided to try the bar as the piano was too loud to talk, the bar had even louder piped music, so left for one of Soho's many coffee shops.
w. a.
Wow. Great hotel. Magnificent rooms and amazing lobby. The service is great too!
J. A.
Location is excellent but cost of drinks is ludicrous. 6.75 for a bottle of beer is just too much. I know you pay for where you are but no place is worth that.
K. T.
Beautiful restaurant and delicious food! We enjoyed our dinner very much!
L. M.
Nice and central hotel/restaurant. I was there to meet a client, we took an afternoon tea with champagne, nice service but the food wasn't great
T. B.
the newest hotel open in central london piccadilly circus post morden deco with a coffee shop right on the high street the large pastry is more valuable than small size its a very good idea for birthday or party and my recommend one is hazelnut loaf but make sure check if colour is too dark maybe be over baked
A. C.
I was there for an separate event but could not help loving the interiors and atmosphere. Beautiful art decor style. Very chic.
N. P.
The Oscar Wilde tearoom is stunning and the afternoon tea whilst expensive (probably what you'd expect in London) is plentiful and delicious... Service was excellent
C. B.
Food and service good & very attentive, but would be helpful if they could find a back cab.
R. L.
Lovely cocktail bar. Great selection.
T. P.
