Lovely hotel not far from Waterloo so great position for us. Quiet roads and room was comfortable and perfect for a few nights in our Capital. Buffet breakfast had a good choice of freshly cooked food, no fried eggs though sadly, just scrambled mush. Will stay here again.

Never stayed at an IBIS before but it was one of the only hotels in London to offer cancellation on the day of arrival which is a huge comfort in these times. The hotel looks fresh and has a lovely reception area, the room was a very good size for the price and was exceptionally clean and well appointed. Staff were helpful and polite. The breakfast was plentiful and really lovely. Location is a stones throw from Southwalk underground. All in a great stay here and would book again.
The mattress could be considered to be on the firm side for some, I quite like a firm bed but this was a foam overlay on a stiff mattress. Nothing else to report.

The rooms are as you expect minimalistic having just the basics, the room was clean and tidy and the bed quite comfortable. I had been expecting a good breakfast would be on offer, however, there isn't much here for the vegetarian and when asked if they did fried or poached eggs, the answer was a flat "NO!", they only did scrambled eggs. Having tasted the scrambled eggs, there was no taste. I have been to other Ibis hotels where they offered vegetarian sausages, fried eggs and a whole lot more than you get here. So a big disappointment on the breakfast front.

Ibis hotel Blackfriars is in a strategic spot to visit London , in one of the best blocks. In a few steps you can take the Jubilee Underground and go the center.
The breakfast is good , maybe a little bit boring with always the same meals , but on point with English breakfast and continental one.
The rooms are nice, I was in the 12th floor and the view is nice , the bed is comfortable and the bathroom are little tiny but the cleaning service is very good.
The price was pretty good for London.

The overall ambience - public rooms warm & welcoming. Staff so efficient, friendly & helpful. Room very comfortable - super-size bed & good quality linen. Quiet efficient air-conditioning, super clean bathroom. Great breakfast - huge & varied choices.

No complaints whatsoever!

A great stay in a great location. Close to several underground stations and restaurants nearby. The hotel lobby was very nice and modern. The hotel room was clean and was exactly what we needed for a great, affordable price. There were 2 elevators so we never had to wait long. The bathroom was really small, and that was the only negative. Overall, a really great stay!

Stayed for work, only 15mins from office. Easy check-in, compact room expected for location but big enough. Nice dark room, quiet and comfy bed = good night sleep. Breakfast was also good.

Rooms kept clean. Friendly staff very pleasant. Food cold at breakfast buffet all 4 mornings. Even went down at 7 one morning and it was just warm..
M. N.
Great budget hotel. Decor a little tired, but the room had everything you needed. Great working air con, and a rooftop view of South London. Friendly staff and a useful location for many parts of town. Look beyond the decoration and it will be fine.

Beautiful location, nice and friendly staff, clean ,quiet place, good location for London attractions, close to the underground, amazing breakfast for 11£ .
Thank you very much to Miss Mihaela ,she was the best .

Good service, comfortable room, though 3 pillows for 2 people was odd, and the towels were clean but definitely past their best. Breakfast was adequate.

Enjoyed a few days exploring London. This is a great location near to tube and lots of places to explore. Really nice breakfast included.

Excellent location to enjoy the bests of London. Walkable to Waterloo station and moments away from Southwark station. Breakfasts never fail. Easy early check-in and late check-out. Minus point for thin walls, beware of next door late partiers who could wake you at 3 or 4 AM

Located in a strategic place near Jubilee line underground stations, professional personnel, modern design and a superb breakfast buffet. They give you the right to choose when you would like your room to be cleaned, it's not everyday by obligation and this is convenient.

I know every experience is different, but I had a few complaints about this hotel. The room served its purpose for our 9 day trip to london, was right near the underground, and breakfast was good. The downsides: I woke up with a bug bite and while that wasn't so horrible, it continued to happen. By the end of our trip, I walked out with about 10 massive bug bites on my thigh. They also claim to come and change your towels if you leave them on the ground, but we never received that service and had to use our old towels. We asked for new ones, but it was kind of a hassle. They also never came to clean the room even when we asked for it to be cleaned. The room was okay and the front desk was kind, but we just expected better service and less bug bites.

Rooms are clean but so small. Bed listed as a "twin" was a foldout armchair. Room with a sofa listed really had a bench (pictured). Website offered adjoining rooms. Front desk acted like we were crazy. Bathroom is a corner of the room and utilitarian. Booked through booking.com.
B.
Friendly staff. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Value for money.
M. C.
The service at Blackfriars was great as usual, the room was suitable. The location is the best, and can walk to quite a few sites.
e. c.
A very quiet and clean room. Air conditioning works well and is not too intrusive. Bed is comfortable. TV has inputs for PC but is not well positioned to use at the desk. USB charging on extension lead.
Only negative is the hot water for the shower took ages to come through but as it was hot day didn't cause too much of a problem.
C. A.
First time here, me and a friend booked 2 rooms for a Friday and saturday as we were going out for the weekend. Wasy check in and staff are friendly and helpful. Downstairs is inviting and had a bar. The rooms were great. Good views of the london eye from both our rooms. Bed was comfy, has air con, good space, has a flat svreen tv, hair dryer in the room and iron and board if needed. Shower and toilet room was clean and looked very nice compared to other places we been in. Would come back.

Two night stay standard room very comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfast very fresh and varid. Good location some good restaurants close by . Will stay again .

We Booked this during the period of the London Games. We spent three Nights Here.
Breakfast:
No glasses, no knives, wet and dirty plates, dirty tables and chairs. Half of the buffet is empty. Three coffee maschines are not working because coffee is missing or the Maschine has to be cleaned. Staff completely lost.
Stay:
In the beginning the room was clean.
But our room wasn’t cleaned one day, no new towels. Shower Sink stinks at the end of stay…
Recommendation:
Do yourself a favour, Go somewhere else…..

Comfy beds. Brilliant breakfast. Some staff could be friendlier but the rest make up for the few frosty ones
R. A.
The hotel is overall okay but I don't understand why they don't clean the room during 2 days in a row (I stayed 4 nights), even though I kept asking for...

Clean hotel , lovely reception / dinning area . Friendly staff and rooms well equipped with refreshments
a. p.
Great budget hotel. Clean. Good service. Near tube.
J. M.
Great location, friendly staff, just wish the door was a little more sound proof, although it may have been the large gap at the bottom that allowed me to hear everyone going by
f. A.
Nice hotel, great food very welcoming and assisting staff
M. H.
Fantastic modern rooms !! Nice reception and breakfast area.. recommended if you are looking to stay in Waterloo/London Bridge area.
d. t.
Really helpful and attentive staff. Made the stay very pleasant.
I. L.
Room was not that big same as the bathroom, but it was clean, we only spent time in the hotel at night
A. W.
The hotel’s at a great location, very close to Waterloo station. The room was clean and tidy, had everything you’d need for an enjoyable stay.
K. W.
Very enjoyable stay. The welcome was great from the very friendly staff. I like the feeling of safety within the hotel, keycard only lifts are are great fixture. After checking in I headed to my room. First thing I noticed was the damp smell in the hallway, it was quite strong. Inside the room was damp smell free. The room was clean and airy and the view was pretty cool too, despite a small window. Clean, quiet and close to the tube and lots of places to eat just a short walk from the hotel. An enjoyable stay, in clean and quiet surroundings.
J. B.
Absolutely fabulous price, especially for the location right in the centre of London and two minutes walk from the tube.
When we arrived our room
Wasn’t quite ready so me and my husband had a drink on the house, didn’t have to long a wait and we could then go to our room, room was lovely and amenities good, we had dinner in the hotel and it was very good service, the food was yummy and the price was good.
This vicinity does do 24 hour room service though by the time we arrived back from exploring London we was to tired to do this, the bed was super comfy and we both enjoyed a wonderful sleep.
We had the all you can eat breakfast in the morning and again it was very good and I was quite impressed of the excellent options and layout was very smart.
The late checking out is good so you don’t need to rush in the morning, staff very friendly, would definitely return in the future!
L. L.
Very good location, and great front desk staff! Especially Daisy helped us a lot! :)
b. w.
Very clean, nice hotel. Staff always willing to help. On 11th floor but fast lifts take seconds. TV a little annoying, always turns on at Ch1 and no channel guide. Bathroom very clean but no separate shampoo/conditioner. Food very good, breakie stunning. Good sound proofing between rooms, slept well, bed very comfy, soft pillows. Aircon rubbish, didn't cool at all. Was a bit warm for us in January. Less than 100m to southwark tube. Would definitely stay again.
C. O.
Stayed for one night. Great location, very near station so convenient for sight-seeing.
Rooms cosy, bed comfortable, breakfast was good with a wide variety of options. Liked the 'reception' idea, no big desk, so less formal than
other hotels I have stayed at. Staff were exceptionally friendly throughout.
Subsequently found that I had left an item at the hotel and this was dealt with very quickly and efficiently. Terrific service.
D. H.
Spectacular location right next to the train and subway stations which aren’t even needed as you are extremely close to downtown, the globe, Big Ben and parliament among other highly sought after sights in central London. But, out of the two rooms we booked, the window looked into a wall, the room with two double beds only came with one bed and the bathroom was wacky, especially the shower. The service and downstairs lobby were impeccable, the very nice lady at the front desk kept our bags until we were able to check in so that we could go out into London, and the lobby had good WiFi, comfy chairs, and a laid back atmosphere compared to the bustling street just out the door.
C. L.
We stayed for three nights and the location couldn't have been better for getting around London. Tube and bus stops on the same block, lots of taxis going by and the central location is perfect. The lobby, dining area and bar are funky and fun. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. The room was large, with a panoramic view of London. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom "pod" was quirky but functional. We hope to be back in London soon and will definitely look to stay here again. It is a wonderful hotel.
M. M.
Highly recommended. Great location. We normally stop near St Pancreas but so glad we tried here. Clean and comfortable hotel. Breakfast was great with a good choice and fab poached eggs!! Lots to do in the area, within a good walking distance of lots of attractions. I would definitely use again when visiting London. Tube station less than 10 minutes away.
C. N.
The staff are lovely and the waiters bar are very polite and professional
J. G.
The check in and out staff were very friendly and we were greeted every time we walked in the door. The whole process of checking in and out was quick and painless, and took maybe about 30 seconds. The room was clean and comfy and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic! The housekeeping staff were extremely thorough, and would leave us bags with fresh towels and coffee refills on the door handle (as we had the do not disturb sign on the door). Overall, we had a very positive experience in this hotel. The only thing I could possibly have the smallest complaint about was that the bed was a tad too hard for my liking, but that is more of a personal preference than a fault with the hotel itself. Great job, guys!
L.
Great location and rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. Staff also helpful.

Lovely hotel with some good views of the city. Friendly welcoming staff by each and every one of them. Food was OK good selection. We even ate a dinner there and it was decent food. All round great trip. We stayed for 3 nights and had no issues at all.
Can't wait to return again.

excellent budget hotel
clean well designed room
Iron and ironing board hair dryer tea and coffee in the room
friendly service

My wife and I had a good stay there. There were definitely a few shortfalls. The beds were horrible in my opinion. Hard as a rock. The bathroom was large enough, but there was no place to put anything - no shelves anywhere - not even a place to put your soap in the shower! There were not enough electrical outlets, and it would have definitely been nice to be able to borrow a plug adapter and not have to pay 5 pounds for it! The staff was young but very responsive, courteous, and eager to satisfy - even got a phone call from the desk asking if my room was OK. The restaurant in the lobby is pricey with only a small selection, but the food was decent. Overall, I thought it was a good hotel for the price I paid - $350 for 3 nights, on special. Would not have paid more.

Good hotel for the price, but if anyone from Ibis is reading this, for the love of God, update the bathrooms. They are premoulded plastic that I'd be hesitant to use in an RV, let alone in a hotel room. The fact that there's no ventilation and the bathroom is elevated from the room floor makes it even more unappealing. I've stayed at many Ibis locations before and this is the first one where I've had an issue like this. Service at the location was fantastic. Our room took about 30 min beyond checkin time to be ready, but we got 2 free drinks to pass the time in the lounge area, and it went by fast. Room size is about what you would expect. It was plenty of room for myself, my wife and our toddler. Location and price combination is very hard to beat. We'd stay here again, but likely only of the room had a different bathroom style.

We visited London for a weekend of casual sightseeing and eating lots of good food. The Hotel Ibis London Blackfriars served that purpose really well.
It's a two minute walk from the tube station (Southwark) and there are multiple restaurants on the road (including a Nando's), there's a small alley of food stalls just a few doors down and round the corner there are tons of different restaurants.
This meant that we could be at prime tourist locations such as Westminster, or wonderful eateries, in under 20 minutes. The location is what really sells this hotel and it's a great "base of operations" if you're planning to be out in the city for most of the day.
The Hotel Ibis London Blackfriars is also relatively clean, the staff are friendly and helpful.
However, the hotel is just missing that extra touch that makes it really special. It doesn't have any big problems, but there are some issues that you do have to look over. When you consider the price of this hotel, I don't think that's right.
- The headboard and the TV setup had not been dusted.
- The beds would move away from the wall if you lent against the headboard.
- No handle in the shower (this could be a hazard considering how slippy the cubicle is).
- The shower door doesn't reach the ground meaning water would sometimes go under it.
- The restaurant is advertised as being open 24/7 but really there is an incredibly limited selection of food after the dinner service.
- The light fixtures in our room weren't working correctly.
- Plugs placed awkwardly in the room (only on the side of one bed and then halfway across room).
These aren't total dealbreakers but, like I said, it's tough to recommend a place that doesn't get it all right when you're paying so much.
T. A.
Well, my company paid for the accommodation so I can't really compare the price.
The room was basic, with hair dryer, TV (not sure if works as I didnt turn it on) wi-fi and tea/coffee facilities. The bathroom perhaps smaller than expected but well, I managed. There were no iron in the room, I asked for one, but they forgot so I asked again next day and they brought it straight away.
Pros:
Friendly and multinational staff, modern look hotel.
The breakfast is nice, they have a selection of continental and full English breakfast, in addition to delicious pastry and other diverse items such as guacamole. (I haven't try it yet)
The dinner was ok, the first night was lovely, I loved the sticky caramel dessert.
There are also a lot of restaurants around the are (portuguese, vietnamese, Spanish, burgers, Chinese, etc), if you would fancy something different.
Cons:
There are few things than needs improvements.
First of all the plugs/sockets in the room where far from the bed - none on the bedtable how is it possible? ... You need one If your laptop or phone are running out batery!
Also you don't have installed (at least in my room) an power's saving system, lights were turn on/off manually. So when I came back from work the room lights were actually on (that impacts in the hotel electricity bill). There were not signal at all in my room so I could not get a call and have to leave to search for a place with signal.
Secondly, when I went the first night to get dinner the air con was on and it was freezing in the restaurant !
And to conclude I will add more variery on the options for the dinner's menu or change it daily as 2 of the days the 3 courses menu was exactly the same options.
R. L.
Room was standard. I paid extra for a room with a view but the room was still very basic. The bathroom is a plastic pod style room with a sink and a shower. Theres a small flat screen on the wall and the bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was okay. There was enough but compared to other hotels I've stayed at there could have been more selection especially when you pay £130 per night...
The staff were polite but didn't really go out of their way to make our stay more enjoyable, for example helping us with our bags or telling us about the area. No check out just leave the key in the room and leave, makes it feel like they want less to do with the customer and more focus on getting one person out so they can get the next one in to maximise profits.
N. W.
We like Ibis. The rooms whilst not spacious are comfortable and have reasonable storage space. My wife finds the 'pod' bathroom very user friendly.Easy walk in shower and close and well lit mirror above the wash basin. Breakfast can be busy but we were directed to a table quickly. The staff kept the buffet well stocked and it was good to have nicely poached eggs instead of the stodgy scrambled mess one often finds.
The highlight of our stay was complimentary glasses of bubbly after our Italian waitress from Turin learnt that were were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Thank you.
M. A.
Great location, nice and quiet, friendly staff and super clean accommodation.
L. K.
The hotel is okay. Its right next to Southwark Station, so excellent location. The room was okay, the beds are a little hard. Booked three rooms, one of the room had dirty linen so this was changed after we requested it. Got a free drink voucher as compensation. Good service. The breakfast is really nice here. Lot of options to choose from! They were fast to fill up things that got empty. I would stay at this hotel again.
S. M.
It's was okay but could be better. Great breakfast. Uncomfortable bed. Customer service could be improved from staffs , especially communication. I spoke to the receptionist on the phone for a thoothpaste and was told over the phone that " I am too busy" not very appropriate. Otherwise, breakfast staffs were very welcoming , especially "Nina" who kept asking us about our stay, she gave us an excellent service that we will never forget. Please pass our thanks to her. The hotel was clean and welcoming.

Checked in online which was easy & straightforward. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived (we were an hour or so early) but they offered to store our bags while we had a look round the area & stopped off for a drink. The room was clean & comfortable perfect for our 2 night stay. One stop on the tube from Waterloo so a perfect base for major concert venues & places of interest. Check out was as easy as check in, received an email early morning thanking us for our stay & advising that we could leave the key in our room if we wished. All in all easy & stress free. We have stayed in this hotel before & will definitely be coming back.
B. S.
Staff at front desk were pleasent, helpful and efficient. Room was clean and practical however the bed was uncomfortably hard and several of the boards that hold the matress had to be rearranged since they had different size. The pillows were also hard and quite unmanagable.
The covers were one single and not seperate wich is for us as a couple not something we are used to but we managed. The aircondition was very noisy and i had trouble regulating the temperature down to a comfortable level (from 23 to 22 is a bonechilling difference).
The bathroom was clean and in good condition however the pressure in the shower was non existent.
We had breakfast only once in the hotel restaurant since we found the quality vs. price was not up to our standards. We found Terrys Cafe to be our spot of choice.
We had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant. I had the fried chicken and my wife had the Paneer.
The overall feel of our main dishes were that they felt highly prosessed and frozen to be flash reheated ried. This is subpar in my opinion.
Bar staff and restaurant staff were friendly and attentative.
Overall a clean and functional hotel at a reasonable price. However this does not ammend the fact that the quality of sleep we had was below expected nor that we were unsatisfied with our meals.
J. P.
Room was nice, bathroom was all we needed, mattress was okay but could have been more comfortable and the TV had limited channels but excellent IO for other inputs. Free wi-fi was properly free wi-fi. Not many plug sockets in the room and not particularly sound-cancelling walls but otherwise a good stay. Staff were nice. Room wasn't extortionate in price either.

Ibis Blackfriars is in a great location, just a few blocks from the Blackfriars train station and a block from the Southwark tube station. The hotel is a nice modern chain hotel with comfortable, clean rooms, an excellent breakfast each morning, and a helpful, friendly staff. We loved that the windows opened, allowing us to get a little fresh air in our 13th floor rooms. The breakfast, included with your room, was substantial and offered a good variety of foods appealing to both the carnivores and vegans in our group. The view was outstanding. The area felt safe, even late in the evening. The historic art nouveau Blackfriar Pub is just a few blocks away and shouldn't be missed. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to London!

It's our first time travelling to London. We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights and after experiencing the complexity of uk underground, walking about 3 mins to reach our hotel is a relief to our tired feet. Though the lobby is always busy, the decor is trendy and the atmosphere is inviting. Our room is situated at the edge of the floor layout, which gave us a slightly larger space than others. The room is clean and quiet for us to have restful nights in comfortable beds. The English breakfast served is delicious and it would be great if the menu could be changed on a daily basis. I am eating the same breakfast for 9 mornings. The eating area is small, so one needs to plan to be either early or you would need to wait to be seated. Being 2 female travelers, we felt safe staying at this hotel. Thanks to the staff of Ibis London Blackfriars for making our visit to London a memorable one.
K. M.
Spacious room, spotlessly clean, everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Breakfast was excellent with great choice of hot and cold items from Bacon, sausages, eggs to croissants, pain au chocolate, cereals, toast and preserves. Dining are also very clean.
Friendly, helpful staff throughout the hotel.
Great location as 10 min walk to Waterloo and only 5 mins walk to Southbank.
R. E.
me and the wife stayed here for four nights the hotel is great the staff all but one were very helpful. the three stars are because the site say it has a business services but has none. it says they have copy and print they have none. the bed was very hard so if you have a bad back think about that. if they had the business service i would have give this hotel a 5 but the site said they had it and they don;t. the location is great! the people are Great all but one. there is no ice machine but just ask the bar and they will give you the ice you need. overall it was great!
C. Q.
Overall good, especially value for money for a really convenient location. Basic facilities but if you're happy with a hot shower and a good night's sleep you can't go far wrong here.
One or two staff didn't seem completely switched on at times and a couple of little things (like replacing used milk etc) got missed off room service but I would happily stay here again.
H. B.
We were very happy with the quick and early check-in to our hotel. It was ideally located so that we could walk to all the major sites. Staff were very kind and helpful and, thankfully, we didn't need them very much during our stay!
The room was clean and comfortable. Shower was nice a big too!
מ. א.
The lobby and restaurant are very stylish and all very modern. Staff are helpful. However, our room, which was an accessible room (although we did not require this facility) was quite poorly laid out with narrow single beds crammed very close together and their movement limited by small bed side shelves, and was overall quite cramped. I think a guest with mobility problems or a wheelchair user would really struggle. We did the best we could but had to use an extension cable to charge and have access to our phones overnight (which we required).
S. M.
The only thing that was less than perfect was breakfast - no vegetables, low variety of cheeses and eggs.but we managed well with other foods.
From the first moment, upon arrival, we felt realy good. the staff was dedicated to help us, and make everything easy and comfortable for us.
The diner room is quiet and comfortable. the rooms are clean and wide.
Very good exprience - the facilities, and the staff.
J. N.
The location was perfect. Walking distance from most things, close to the water which have us many options to walk around in the evening and very close to all of the transportation. Check in was very quick and efficient otherwise staff left us completely alone which was a plus for us, but not always for everyone. The rooms were very small and had only a small window. The bathroom loses the stars for me, horribly ventilated and smelled of years of mildew because of this. Wouldn’t recommend if you have airborne allergies to scents or mould, however if this is not important to you, it was priced very conservatively for the value of location.
M. M.
Great price and great location. Easy to check in and check out. Not many amenitites at the hotel, but it doesn't matter much as the amenities are on your doorstep once you step outside of the hotel all around Southwark. Tube is only a couple minutes down the road as well which is handy. My room was a little noisy due to the plumbing but not enough so that I couldn't sleep.
A. E.
Great place to stay & great location for Southbank, embankment, Borough Market etc. Clean & tidy, good size rooms
M. F.
Very Nice hotel right in the centre London. Large rooms, great personnel, perfect breakfast. Many thanks to the everyone working at the reception and during breakfast: You guys made my father's birthday very special! I can recommend this hotel and will come back next time when in London!
S. S.
For the price and location this hotel is great. Having said that, the rooms were a little sparse and the bathrooms are quite small. I didn't have have problems with it but I can imagine a larger person might feel cramped in there. It also only had a shower stall, so if you're want to take a bath you're out of luck.
The breakfast buffet is amazing, and the dinners I picked up from the restaurant were quite good as well. The staff were quite friendly and helpful.
Location wise you're next to a tube station on the Jubilee line that will get you anywhere, and if you're a walker you're only about a half hour away from Central London.
For a single person who's not looking for a luxury hotel, and who doesn't mind a walk or a tube ride this place is perfect.
J. H.
Check in fast and efficient. Lovely quiet room on lower floor as requested. Food at dinner was good. I had a chicken caesar salad and my husband had the curry. great choice at breakfast, food was freshly baked and the poached eggs were done to perfection.
Great location just a few minutes walk from Tate Modern. I tube stop to the London Eye.
Staff could not do enough for you and were friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.
J. R. P.
Great room, great location. Staff really friendly....
N. R.
Great budget option near the center of London. Fair price, clean rooms and well located. Would stay here again.
A warning to those travelling with youngsters, they do no have a microwave they will let you use anywhere in the hotel, so plan ahead for food as you can not reheat anything here. Also, the evening restaurant manager was a bit of...well, you know, about it. Very unprofessional to both me and the staff member at the bar about it.
C. B.
The staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful right off the bat. We had just travelled over from Australia so it was nice to have our room already ready when we got there. The room was bigger than expected, and the shower was reasonably sized. There's a good breakfast menu and they offer a selection of "to go" breakfasts in small tubs which we found very handy. The hotel is right next to Southwark subway station on the Jubilee line so it was easy getting around and to the airport. It's also a short walk to London Eye. I would recommend this hotel.
C. C.
The room was standard although no view other than a backyard. But the lobby, bar and restaurant were noisy with loud music. The staff ignored request for turning the volume down a little. On top of that the morning breakfast was entertained by noise from cleaning machines. Of course we chose to dine somewhere else. Although our rooms were paid for in advance my colleague was met with an insist for a credit card. The attitude towards customers could be improved.
O. K.
Check in experience not good, told room not ready. 7-8 other couples told the same but all got checked in before us even though we arrived before them as well. Although a complimentary drink voucher was given to us to say sorry which was a nice gesture. Bar staff very friendly. Rooms not worth £130+ as very basic and bathroom reminded me of the sort you'd find in a caravan. Pillows/bed not great either! Definitely not as comfortable as it made out on one of the leathlets. Clean overall. Walking to the main things in London from the hotel quite long.
A. L.
We arrived early to the hotel and although we couldn't check in, we where allowed to store our bags in a secure room until later. The room we got was a corner room as was very spacious however we saw inside other rooms during cleaning and they look like a good size, the beds where extremely comfy, air con was nice considering the warm weather. We where located on the 2nd floor which had a reasonable view. Breakfast was excellent and worth paying for.
As for the location of the hotel, Southwark tube station was less than a minutes walk, with the jubilee line to waterloo and then connecting line, negotiating the city was easy, however a 20 minute walk and your in covent garden, with westminster also not far away.
A walk of about 10 minutes across Blackfriars bridge takes you to Blackfriars tube station from there you can catch services to Tower Hill and to the west towards Knightsbridge and Kensington for the museums.
Would totally recommend staying here, the staff where lovely and couldn't be any more helpful and the rooms where very comfortable after a long day sightseeing.

The room was sufficiently clean, very small but expected for the price paid. However our overall stayed felt very budget and cheap motel vs a budget hotel sort of feeling. No Tissues supplied, plastic cups (in the bathroom) were not replace and were of questionable quality, bath towels very thin and no face towel or hand towel supplied. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
B. B.
Excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. the room was good, and the breakfast prices were sensible.
I would say the only problem was the queue for breakfast which blocked people from exiting the hotel from the lifts. The queue should be switched to the other direction (from the reception area). I also would have liked to be able to get a cup of coffee downstairs at around 6am when I got up for a walk.
J. R.
The room was large and clutter free. But everytime next door used their bathroom the pipes seemed very noisy. The shower wasnt overly powerful either. Breakfast was excellent, but the plates were too small. You need to be able to fit standard toast on without it being right up to the edges.
a. l.
Very convenient to most locales in London. Half a block to the train. The staff is friendly. The rooms are adequate - bathrooms are odd - akin to a porta-john self contained plastic unit of shower, sink and toilet all one unit of seemless plastic, inserted into the corner of the room. The breakfast is very good and the space is nice. This is a solid choice in the area for a stay.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

Terrible customer service. Every staff member we encountered had no idea what was going on. I booked a room with 2 beds and paid extra for early check in. The room had only one bed. This was finally fixed but then there were different messages from each staff member. One informed us of an included continental breakfast and when we went the next day we were told there is a charge. There is a total lack of communication and professionalism. We are very disassponted in our stay at this hotel.

Good central location to many sights. Several tube stations close by. Room was of good size with tea/coffee making facilities and minimal outside noise heard within the room. Staff very friendly and helpful.
D. D.
Great hotel ideally placed for both business and tourism.
Reasonably priced for London with a brilliant breakfast.
Bathrooms are apparently a bit of a squeeze if you are very large but they have never bothered me.
Bar is quiet and has a good range of drinks with friendly staff and the receptionists are very pleasant.
S. T.
Good for the money paid, but first room.i had was noisy. After asking to be moved the second room was a lot better. Rooms are not the most modern interior he world, but also not too dated. For international travelers they supply a big android device for your use while out and about in London, and you can make free calls on it too (not relevant to me, but a nice touch). They also provide a lightly stocked (a couple of beers, bottled water etc) mini-bar which is complimentary and restocked each night, which is also a nice touch. Bed was comfortable and room clean.

Our second stay – and not the last one!
This is our second stay at this hotel that provide good value given the hotel’s central location and the fact that it provides clean and decent rooms. Our room (no 1022) were clean, very comfortable & spacious with a great view (see my attached photos).
The hotel is really funky and modern and have a nice bar a restaurant. Also, great price for a London hotel with these facilities!
Breakfast is the best breakfast I've ever had in an Ibis hotel.
The underground station, Southwark is only 2 minuts walking.
The Wi-Fi was easy to connect and had high capacity!
I would highly recommend this for a great stay at a good price!

Last stay in December 2013:
Nice budget hotel with excellent customer service!
My wife and I stay in this hotel for 3 nights in December 2013 for celebrating the New Year’s eve in this amazing city.
The hotel is very close to the underground (1 minute walk to Soutwark station) and a lot of tourist attraction. The room (928) were small but more than enough room for two people. There is nothing to complain about the cleaning and the bed was very comfortable (maybe the best bed in any hotel I have visited so far!)
The staff is really nice and very helpful. There are free wifi throughout (limited speed but it’s possible to pay for “unlimited” speed). Beautiful and modern on site bar and restaurant (see my attached photos) with 24/7 meal and drinks menu.
Breakfast in the restaurant was abundant with plenty of choice
All in all a pleasant stay in a nice hotel.
This hotel is good value for money!
Regards
Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway.

Nice location, convenient to tube stations. Location means walking to popular attractions within 20 minutes. Breakfast and dinner restaurant on site with ample range of selections. Rooms to cater for your price range and needs. Clean and well kept. Wonderful helpful polite staff cater to your needs.

Nice room, clean. Polite and nice staff. Very good breakfast! My last day at the hotel was of coarse affected by the terrible attack at London Bridge. I noticed that the staff where affected, which was perfectly understandable. But I believe the staff need to train how to deal with such situations and I suggest that they learn how to act under such conditions. As a member of the staff you need to stay calm and and explain to the guests what has happened in a more professional and rational manner. Overall the stay was good!
R. G.
Comfortable, spacious room with friendly staff. Ordered drinks and booked breakfast for the morning both of which were delicious. Would definitely stay here again and its round the corner from the river and all the entertainment available along there at Southwark. Also minutes away fromn2 underground stations making it ideal for travelling around the capital.
Y. K.
Very modern hotel and well received. All my bookings were ready for me upon arrival, including early check-in which the room was ready on time. The room was a tad small for a stay longer then 2-3 days, especially the hanging space is limited. Would be best suited to an overnight stay - in fact ideal. Wet room bathroom is a great space saver, but the floor is prone to getting wet so flip flops or sliders are recommended, especially if you are wearing socks and need to go in shortly after showering.
Location is perfect, just meters from the tube and a short walk to Waterloo. Makes getting in and out easy. Close proximity to embankment with countless options for food and drinks.
Would stay there again if travelling on my own, or only in London for a day or two. Didn’t sample the breakfasts, but the bar is convenient for a night cap.

+ The room was clean and spacy than I expected.
+ Staffs were super friendly.
+ I really liked on-line check-in and auto checkout.
+ The hotel was located near underground station & bus stops so sightseeing was so painless.
- We've told that the big ben was viewable from our room, but it wasn't. :(

Amazing place in the centre and near the Jubilee line. Comfy, responsibly cleaned rooms with all necessary utensils. Staff is very pleasant and helpful, the whole hotel is quite peaceful and it's nice to even just stay in the hall with a cup of coffee.
A. U. K.
This was my first time staying at an Ibis. It was perfectly placed, everything we wanted to see was within walking distance.
The room was clean and serviceable, exactly what was needed when we were going to be out the majority of every day.
The restaurant was fantastic, an excellent range of food and the breakfast spread was expansive. Will stay here once I am back in London!

My favorite hotel I've stayed at on my trip to London/ Paris. Friendliest staff, most accessible and comfortable hotel bar (dinner at the restaurant could have been better). Had everything i needed but what i enjoyed most was the boat- like bathroom. It just seemed so unique and cool to me. Not sure if all the rooms are like that but the fake wood floor that's tilted towards the drain so that you don't even need anything separating shower floor to the regular bathroom floor was enjoyable. Good location too, right next to an underground and the Thames..
M. H.
Perfectly clean, no-frills, modern Ibis hotel, as you would expect. Had no issues. The check-in area is a bit unconventional, more of an open space than a typical front desk. Good for business travel and quick, uncomplicated trips to the city.
A. T.
Haven't stayed in a Ibis hotel for nearly 6 years, was pleasantly impressed with the speed of my check-in when I arrived. However my bathroom was showing signs of age due to peeling paint on the bathroom door.. Would definitely stay here again if needed an overnight stay in south London!
a. k.
It's okay. I knew what I was getting into - very small rooms with clever use of space - but certain details felt off or a bit worn.
The ensuite bathrooms are pods, which creak and the lights flicker when you turn them on; not great if you're sharing the room and don't want to wake them. The built-in desk was cracked and warped, the bamboo floor peeling up in places, and the beds still comfortable but starting to slope.
Plus side, there's a great seating area on the entry floor with plenty of plugs, so you can get out of the room to get work done.
A. K.
This is so called Indian hotel but some of the curries they make is too bad. I ordered matar panner and asked them to make it spicy and to my surprise they just added some red chilly on top and it was very bad in taste. Also saw them serving papad to other guests who ordered drinks but they didn't offer us. When I asked they said there is no complimentary starter. Overall not money's worth especially if you know and expect to eat Indian taste.
C. E.
Staff friendly and attentive. Breakfast fresh and lots of it. Foyer welcoming restful & a great place to relax & hang out. Bedroom pretty sparce and unfortunately not a good bed. Too hard. Didn't sleep well. Hence only 3 star.
Z. H.
Had a very enjoyable 2 day stay here recently. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the bar and restaurant are well stocked. Room was clean and tidy. Excellent location with unloading bays outside for cabs/cars and 10 minute stroll from Waterloo station. Not cheap but it's central London and represents good value for money.
M. T.
It was a very comfortable stay with super friendly staff and spacious rooms. My only complaint is that the toilet was small and all the flushes in all the rooms made a weird drilling like sound possibly of some motor which pumps in water. So when your neighboring room folks or you use the flush the drilling sound is disturbing for about 15-20 seconds.
D. M.
We spent one night at Ibis Blackfriars and were impressed from the start: speedy check-in, friendly staff, pleasant surroundings.
The room was clean, compact and comfortable.
The choice of foods offered for breakfast exceeded expectations: pastries, cereal, cheeses, meats, the full English... Beautiful.
Check-out was hassle-free and there was disabled parking just around the corner (a bonus when you're on crutches, as I am).
We will definitely be back.

the hotel is really nice, modern, clean, I really liked the bed. there were just 2 things that were not really amazing, 1/ I don't know if the staff gets any breaks but they seemed kind of tired. 2/ I was having just standard double room but the bathroom doesn't really have to be made of the same material like the portable toilet cubicles you get on concerts.
P. H.
Very nice place. Great staff, some of the best i ever saw and i think i was in a lot of hotels... Very good breakfest. Quiet room, good wi-fi. Above expectations.
B. C.
Stay was enjoyable, as always. Room was comfortable although view was not as good on the side of hotel we stayed this time. Choice of breakfast cereals could have been better. Only 2 were on display on our second day and we had to chase for a third. Staff were all extremely helpful and friendly.
S. F.
I used the early check in online feature and walked in, introduced myself, and they handed me my key. Easy as that! The check out was equally easy.
The food (breakfast and steak & fries) was very good. For the price you pay, you get a fantastic experience!
Great location: Right next to Blackfriars station. Moments walk from Waterloo, St Paul’s, and South Bank. Highly recommended for either business or pleasure!
M. E.
Nice hotel for visiting London: decent price and a good location. There's a subway station and several bus stops nearby to get you anywhere in the city. The room was a decent size, clean and comfortable. The daily breakfast buffet was good but it did cost extra. Depending on how high up your room is you could have a nice view of the city.
D. K. M.
Very satisfied with the room. It was clean and we had a wonderful view over London - our 8 year old boy still talks a lot about it.
The breakfast buffet was really good but maybe a little to busy sometimes, so people had to wait a while to be seated.
C. S.
I really like it here and I have been here a couple of times. The staff here is very helpful and nice, every hour of the day. The lobby, bar and restaurant areas are great places to relax or have something to drink or eat, and the interior is very modern and it looks beautiful. The rooms are OK, no beautiful interior here. The one thing bothering me the most, is the door to the bathroom. It just isn't possible to close it without a loud bang. The hotel is in an area where there isn't a lot of tourists, which is great. The tube is a short walk from the hotel.
S. S.
Nothing special, nothing awful either. Kind of sad rooms and neighbourhood, the five minute walk to the river and out of the south bank feel like long kms. Average breakfast (you won't feel like having two of anything). You won't feel like spending time in the room either, although it could be much smaller and it is clean and new. Definitely lack of storage. The double glazing is good and you can't hear the traffic at all, but you do hear the doors banging in the corridor. Haven't tried the restaurant, looks unappetizing. Uncomfortable beds (not flat!, ours sinks in the middle), and unusable pillow, huge and hard as if it was a sofa cushion; I'm sleeping (or trying to) without it. The hotel would deserve 3 stars for its neutrality if it wasn't for the ridiculous prices.
N. M.
The room itself was nice, beds really comfortable - but overall not the best experience.
Paid for early check-in to be able to get into our room from 10am and go off sightseeing. We were running late, got there at 11, and was told I wasn't on the early check-in list so obviously hadn't booked it. Got my confirmation out to prove I had, they said that's fine, rang house keeping and told us our room would be 15 mins. Gave us a comp tea & coffee in the meantime. 25 mins later asked about our room to be told house keeping had cleaning the wrong room and our room wasn't ready. We left our bags and went out for the day. Returned at 3pm to get a £10 refund on early check-in and finally allowed to go to our room.
As I said, the room was nice and the beds were comfy. I did, however, book a twin only to find that the two beds were pushed together and the bedside tables either side meant they couldn't be pulled apart. Might as well have just booked a double for my and my mum.
About 9am the next day (bearing in mind Sunday check out isn't until 12 noon) there was a knock on our door and house keeping entered to see if we'd left so they could clean our room. Even though we hadn't checked out so their system would show we were still there. Thank god we were decent when he let himself in.
Obviously keen to clean the room to get someone else in who paid for early check in. If only they'd been that keen when we were trying to use our early check-in.
One of the nicer budget hotels that I've stayed in overall, but wouldn't stay in this particular one again just because of this experience. Such a shame. I get that early check-in is dependant on availability, but my name wasn't even on her list, so they weren't expecting us, and house keeping then went and cleaned the wrong room.
Whilst this may be a budget hotel, it still cost me almost £200 for the one night for me and my mum. For that kind of money I don't expect these kind of things to happen.
T. E.
Good basic accommodation in a great spot. Don't expect anything too fancy, and the in-room facilities are pretty basic, but it does the job if you just need somewhere to sleep. Definitely give them points for the helpfulness of the reception staff though.
J. K.
Stayed for one night. Room was fine if a little uninspired. Good size. Plenty of storage for a couple of days. TV had a USB and HDMI in panel at the front. Maybe it was where I was but there was a low level mechanical noise somewhere but I didn't find it distracting. Breakfast was decent enough with plenty of choice. Was very busy at 8am. Check in and out was super quick.
L. O.
Spent 4 nights at the Ibis and there isn't anything much I can fault the hotel about.
You cannot beat the price I paid for the room in the location it is. The location is excellent and a walk to most of the major attractions like London Bridge, Tower Bridge, London Tower, London Eye, Westminster, Big Ben, 10 Dowling St and Buckingham Palace to name a few. And by walk I mean if you have some sort of fitness about you.
The Hotel has the Southwark underground train station about 200m and this can be easily used to get you anywhere in London.
I found the breakfast ok and the meals order for lunch and dinner very tasty.
Free quick Wifi
Everyone were very helpful and friendly then I have seen at any other hotel (and can only hope its sincere and genuine instead of artificial).
Con:
Pillows like bricks.
Beds hard (for me).
Sometimes I thought next door was about to come through a wall.
Like I said if you can get the right price this hotel is hard to beat. Very busy hotel and would stay easily if in London.
M. R.
To be quite honest this hotel is lacking, if you're a college student on a budget and need a room with bathroom, that is not being shared by several others then this might be the place for you but as an adult, with a family this hotel is one I will NEVER stay at again. The room is tiny for a "Family" room more like a shoe box with a small couch that is a bed (uncomfortable, good luck), the restroom needs a major overhaul and updating it felt disgusting and it was a shower. The water pressure was non-existent, the towels were dingy. I can go on and on about this hotel. In my opinion, I would not stay here again and if you are traveling with kids or family I would suggest looking elsewhere.
S. W.
I stayed with a friend for 3 nights at Ibis Blackfriars and we couldn't have had a better stay at an Ibis. The stuff was friendly and easy going. I expected a letter which arrived before my check in and they had it ready for me, no problems whatsoever. The breakfast is agood deal for around GBP 12.00 and served till midday. Location is perfect, just a short walk and you're at the river Thames. Dinner was good too. Would definitely book again.
D. C.
Modern decor and approach throughout the hotel. Friendly staff with clean and comfortable rooms. Probably not suitable for a longer stay but for a weekend in London it's fantastic. The location close to the tube makes it extremely convenient too.
R. v. O.
Very impressed with the hotel. Staff are very friendly and willing to help, a pleasure to stay here
A. B.
Decent, reasonably priced, centrally located. Breakfast ok, bar ok. Smallish rooms but ok if all you need is a bed & shower. Booking includes breakfast, staff kept saying to all 9 persons in our party it wasn't on both mornings. The credit card charge better be as the original booking!
A. C.
I needed a room for the night and this hotel was central. London is an expensive city to stay in but I've had better. The room was very basic and the "bathroom" was a type of pre-moulded plastic cubicle fitted in the room. Toilet flushing above and below floors could be heard very clearly. Not conducive to a good night's sleep.
Unfortunately Club Quarters St. Paul's was booked out.
P. T.
On the plus side it was good value for money and near to where we were going to see a concert. On the downside we arrived to find beds made up as a double when we had booked a twin and the breakfast was so disappointing my brother wouldn't eat it. I would stay here again if I was in the area but I probably wouldn't book breakfast.
T. M.
Very friendly staff . Free lemon water on reception for guest. They even borrow or sell power adapter . Very nice social space with 3 different zones : work/office , private meeting , waiting .
Very nice room, very comfortable bad , bathroom with rain shower , hair dryer .Iron on request.
For guest waiting water, tea and cookies - i loved them .
Breakfast is good but to British after 2 days is a little boring, there is a lot meat and sweat stuff but almost none vegetables except fried potatoes , guacamole and ketchup.
For 2-3 days is very good but for longer stay i would chose something different.
F. M.
The room was just ok the bathroom pod! was looking tired and grubby. The Breakfast was Shocking only one coffee station working, one toaster which meant the wait for both was very long .The worst choice of breakfast in any hotel i have ever stayed at. stayed here five years ago and all was good. gone down hill. very disappointed!
A. A.
I had extremely opposite feelings in two days I spent there.
Good:
- Staff extremely friendly and helpful
- Room was good
- Good location
Bad:
- 24/7 noises, so I had two horrible nights sleeping
- Around 1am there was someone dropping glasses into the recycling for several minutes
Anyway, I guess if there was no noise, I'd give 5 stars.... but it's London, so these kind of stuff may be normal to them.... but I hated it.
D. L.
My Fiancé and I had a lovely two night stay.
the room was clean and we loved the wide open shower.
I would have given a score of 9 ....but there was a problem with the bed.
It was very comfy the sheets and pillows were lovely and soft.
but when we sat up and leaned back on the back board to watch the
TV or read a book the bed would slide across the floor because it was so light.
it was very annoying and made it hard for us to relax at the end of the night.
but apart from that it was still a nice stay
A.
Nice staff and great location. BUT, the beds are as hard as rock. The floor was more soft than the beds, and my daughter would have preferred sleeping in the bathroom, if it wasn't for the next point. I managed to bruise a rib, during one of the sleepless nights.
Secondly the room was extremely cold, and most evenings we had to stay under the covers, just to be able to stay in the room. The heater couldn't warm more the one meter away from itself, so the rest of the room was about the same temperature as outside.
A. R.
Good hotel for a short stay. The rooms are small but clean. Staff is friendly and helpful and there is free wifi. Breakfast was not included with our booking but can be purchased if you want to.
G. N.
I stay at this hotel a lot and now almost feel like it's a second home! I always feel very welcomed and relaxed when staying and the staff are very attentive and friendly. My only gripe is that the price of staying seems to be rising very fast and I feel I shall no longer be able to afford the Ibis. Within the space of a couple of years my average price paid has risen by 20-30% and even with my Silver status I am now getting quotes for a stay of approx $250 which means my next trip to London I will not be staying with you [staying on Gower St for £120 B&B!].
H. A.
Summary:
A modern hotel with value for your money and good location/breakfast. Kind and efficient staff.
Room:
A standard Ibis room with a bathroom that looks like it's taken from a cruise ship. The room was clean and the Wifi fast enough for YouTube. Our room (422) had a view into a wall (asked for a nice view in the booking).
Breakfast:
A good breakfast with at least 4 different bread, 3 jams, tasty cheese, ham, bacon, sausages, poached eggs, beans, yoghurt, milk, cereals, fruits, pastries, tea, strong coffee and more.
Location:
Excellent location on the south bank in London. The London Eye is 16min by walking, Tate Modern 9 min, Borough Market 15min and Big Ben 25 minutes
Communications:
The bus stop is right outside the hotel, Southwark tube station is 150 metres away and Waterloo Railway 650/8min away.
Tip: Ask for a room high up and eat breakfast early or late. The bar is open to 01 AM.
C. M.
Prime location of the hotel in the theatre and art district. Small, European-sized rooms (as expected), helpful and friendly staff and decent breakfast. WiFi is also reliable (unlike in so many hotels). The hotel makes for a convenient and comfortable stay if you can look past the ugly lobby.
J. E. W. (.
We arrived for our 3 night stay and we weren't disappointed. The rooms were cleaned everyday bed made and clean towels (credit to the cleaners). The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and it made our stay all the more enjoyable.
R. R.
Place was wonderful. But one of the staff (blond, short fellow) was ready to throw me out of the lobby because he thought I was a vagrant. He did not even try to apologize. A Grade "A" presumptuous idiot. I only said good morning to him about 7 times during out 9-day stay.
but apart from that, brilliant hotel.
W. A.
Good accomodation at a reasonable rate. Nowt special but you'd pay more for that
A. L.
Was staying here with a friend for the new year, first time in london.
Decent price.
Place is clean, rooms are quiet (as requested), but the space is bit small.
The staff were very helpful and nice.
The location is also good (stores and restaurants are close)
And the blackfriars bridge is near in case you want to see the new year fireworks.
The station is 2 minutes walk away.
Would totally recommend for a short stay (10 days or less).
M. V.
Room was fine, parts of the bathroom looked like they hadn't been cleaned in quite a while, like the vent in the shower. Ours was caked in dust. The lack of towels was annoying, no hand towel no wash cloths only 2 body towels. Breakfast was over priced and mediocre, save your money and go some place outside the hotel for food.
W. H.
Rooms are modern and clean and the staff is very friendly. It's also well positioned and connected with the tube. I highly recommend this hotel.
K. R.
Hotel should actually be called Ibis London Southwark, as it's right next to Southwark station and across the river and down the street from Blackfriars. Usual fare for an Ibis: though the free wifi was decent, the bathroom is a little depressing, creaking plastic pod that looks like it was added into the room as an afterthought. Breakfast is fine and staff helpful. Ironing boards and irons are not in the room - for that you need to take your clothes down to the room that looks a bit like a former Soviet interrogation cell to use the 2/3rd size ironing board and the iron that ejects a mixture of steam and built up limescale when you press the button. For the money you're spending it's a decent result nonetheless.

This was the third time my wife and I stayed at this hotel, and definitely not the last. What makes us return is:
1. Location. Very easy to get to any part of London by bus, Tube, train - or just by walking.
2. The young, enthusiastic staff. They sometimes mix things up, but they are always willing to fix any mistakes. Hello, Yohan :)
3. Good value for money. We have stayed in so many London hotels through the years that were totally overpriced compared to what they actually offered. Not so at the Ibis.
i. e.
It was my first trip at London. This hotel is a very good location to visit the center by feet or with any public transportation. The team is very kindly and helpful. I'd appreciated the price. I've spent some nice vacancy. But its' very busy at the breakfast
C. B.
Lovely place. The rooms are without much facilities as simple as a refrigerator but has a air condition with nice bathroom. Their breakfast is fair but it not one of those hotels of class you want to visit in London.
C. J.
Really good breakfast. Restaurant dinner was grand, service from staff is good and beer selection is OK. Room is basic but has everything you need. Bed is comfortable and the hotel is quiet.
R.
Booked this hotel as it was a good location. Asked for a quiet room with a view as it was my first time in London. First room was not ready even though I did not book in until around 4.30pm. Room was tiny and just had a view of a building site across the road. Therefore did not open the curtains much during the day as crane driver and other workers could see straight in. Strange cubicle bathroom was very odd and no fridge in the room. Food and bar was good. When I left the hotel I asked them to book a taxi for me. They did not advise that the taxi did not take cards. So did not realise this until I got to my destination. Embarrassing I had to pay the cab driver in australian dollars as it was a fair trip. I have used cards in cans everywhere and did not think London would be any different. (This was not the black London cabs).
Maybe would try another hotel when I go again.
E. M.
Absolute disappointment. Room service continues to change towels/bedsheet/pillow with dust, lipstick marks, and footprint marks, and room floor and sink area is obviously covered in dust. I ask for more towels but they give even dirtier …
D. T.
The hotel has perfect location, The service is nice and all, but for some reason my tv remote didnt work. Rooms were clean at all times. I can say I pretty much enjoyed my stay
J. D.
Average hotel for what I would call an extortionate room price.
Not value for money at all.
I hate the bathroom pods in the rooms.
I also hate the laminate flooring in the rooms.
Breakfast is average, if you can find a place to sit in the mornings.
Sleep average...
Compared to a Premier Inn I stayed at recently, the Premier Inn won hands down, for sleep quality.
H. C.
Great breakfast buffet. Nice tiny rooms for a high end price. Kind young staffers. But somehow they failed to change my quilt cover even though it was slightly soiled. Why (not)?
D. L.
Location is perfect. There is an underground station at less than 1 minute walking. The price is fair and the streets nearby have good places to eat or drink something. I would not recommend having breakfast at the hotel. It is great but costs 11£, which is too much in my opinion.
C. B.
Great hotel, very comfy and clean rooms. As a bonus, our view was facing the London Eye! Staff was very helpful, and the hotel breakfast (optional, for a small fee) was tasty. Also located close to the Southwark and Waterloo stations. Would absolutely stay here again!
D. E.
Great location, very friendly welcoming staff-i cannot say enough nice things about Gary at front desk. However, night restaurant staff is very slow, and often forgets part of meal/request. Rooms very clean.
J. P.
Checked in online easy. Lobby reception efficient and friendly. Lifts fast and multiple. Rooms well appointed. Air con welcome. Bathroom spacious and good power shower. Breakfast seating and choice relaxing and hearty.
N. T.
My room was small but perfectly comfortable. The location was perfect to public transportation and within walking distance to the London Eye. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great.
A. C.
I stay here regularly. The room, service and breakfast were at the usual high standard.
I had booked a room upgrade in advance after my original double-room reservation and this add-on was erased by the online checkin process. When I arrived, the duty manager explained that this was a technical issue with the booking system and could not give us the room upgrade as all rooms were taken.
C. S.
1. Arriving at the time I gave on the online check it, was notified that we couldn't check in yet & were sent away to come back later. I appreciate that this was before the 1400 check in time, but if an earlier time is not available it should not be offered at online check in;
2. The breakfast was appalling! I paid for a cooked breakfast, expecting a number of items to be available to me as a vegetarian, to find that all that was available were extremely rubbery poached eggs and hash browns, which had a suspect meat fat taste to them so I didn't eat after the first morning. If I had known this to be the case I would not have purchased breakfast in advance. Were I to be staying at a Premier Inn for example, there would have been a choice of eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms etc. I was offered a vegetarian sausage on one morning, which took half an hour to come and was still frozen in the middle;
3. On three occasions I requested additional pillows be put in the room, which never arrived. When we got back to the room late in the evening it was too late to be chasing for them, so a request the following morning should have led to the matter being sorted - it didn't. I gave up in the end;
4. There was no extractor in the bathroom;
5. We ran out of shower gel which was not replaced / topped up for two days.

Ok so hotel accommodation is hugely expensive in London, IBIS is a good choice for the semi-budget conscious, we did we a "rack rate" advertised in the lobby for £360 per night, so book online and early for better rates. However, located in Blackfriars Road a short walk to the Southwark train station or a little longer walk to Blackfriars overland (or keep going over the bridge to Blackfriars underground station) location is great.
There is a post office next door for ATM access, a Tesco and Waitrose just around the corner.
Its a decent sized hotel, with the funky IBIS fit out, including the "pod" bathrooms.
One thing that this IBIS has that others we stayed in don't, is a the amount of seating on the ground floor, every nook seems to have tables and chairs, and lots were being used for what seemed meetings by guests. The bar and restaurant are location on the ground floor and were always busy. We didn't sample breakfast but it looked ok from a distance.
Staff and service with of the IBIS class, except one day our room wasn't made up, when we asked for towels (it had rained as it does in London all day) the room attendant offer to make up the room, but we declined but thankful of the offer.
Would I stay there again: sure. It was more cost effective than other hotels on the other side of the river, and you can get anywhere easily.
B. E.
The room was basic but comfortable. There was a wide choice for breakfast which was very good. We ate in Foggs restaurant two nights and although a limited menu the food was e tremely good enhanced by the srvice of Andi and Marius
ג. ב. מ.
Nice hotel for the price, near the tube and to the River, just behind Tate Modern. The beds are very good, the rooms have a good size (although with a small bathroom, very ill equipped). The breakfast is great, though, especially the pain au chocolat, croissants and eggs.
S.
Good location . comfortable bed. Do not change sheets every day. Arrange the bed as if you were changing the sheets. Under the bed is full of dirt. The staff is excellent and nice and courteous. Usually I like ibis hotels
M. K.
Every member of staff we spoke to was incredibly friendly. The rooms were clean and tidy. The breakfast had a huge selection to set you up for the day. Highly recommended.
C. C.
Lovely hotel in a heart of London. 5 minutes from Tamiza. All employees very kind and always with smile. Rooms are clean, with bathroom and big bed. Looking forward to visit again.
M. D.
Pleased. Location was great. Close to all public transportation and nice restaurants that were affordable. The room was pleasant and staff was friendly. We ended every night at the bar and the staff were very nice as well. A great home away from home
J. D.
A good location, close to Tate Modern, Borough Market, the London Eye and other attractions, and within easy reach of a couple of tube lines. Check-in was quick and easy, with a warm welcome, and the room was clean, warm and well-appointed. The bar/ restaurant was quiet and relaxed, a really nice place to hang out with a drink and a book - really appreciated as a solo traveller.
A. D.
My wife and I were visiting London for the first time and found this spot just a block from the Southwark Underground station to be an outstanding base for our exploration of London's vast attractions. Many great dining and entertainment options within walking distance or a Tube stop away. Everything was clean, the staff was courteous and helpful and the breakfast was scrumptious. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great value and comfortable stay in London.
B. M.
Hotel is a bit older, no usb chargers at the room, so make sure you bring your current convertor. But the rooms are clean, the bed is nice and firm, and the staff is really friendly.
A. W.
Remember it's a budget hotel, fairly basic rooms although clean and decent shower. Good breakfast but always busy, for business travellers note there is no iron in the room, free wifi
L. C.
Hotel is very nice! More modern design and environment than traditional hotels. But like most others, beds are stiff and breakfast lacks choices. Overall, I would definitely stay again!!!!
E. V.
Convenient location to London's tourist attractions but at a better price. Only half block to Southwark Station. Easy to get around and out of London including airports from there. Clean European design in rooms. Great mattress/bed. Modestly priced full breakfast buffet. Staff steadily available and will resolve an issue in 15 minute or no charge. Will stay there again when in London.
J. “. G.
A very standard Ibis hotel near the South Bank area in London. Expensive due to being in London. Rooms were very basic and old decoration. Room size was good and bathroom was large with an excellent shower. Breakfast is also very good.
S. S.
Expensive for an ibis, but not the usual ibis either. Good location. Nice lobby, larger than the usual ibis rooms, otherwise you wouldn't want this for 3 nights in London. Shower module a bit more roomy than standard ibis. Even a hairdryer. Not enough smartphone loading sockets. Near Southwark station. Groceries and cafes, restaurants nearby. Ventilation works, though heating takes a long time. Very good mattress.
E. F.
Perfectly pleasant and had an acceptable night's sleep,. Room temperature was good (not too hot or cold) and there was little external noise, which is always a bonus. Only criticisms would be that the room was a bit dated and the bed on the firm side.
W. M.
Excellent hotel, staff Grete, Tristian and Tamas Excellent service wanting me to come down for supper and a drink at night. Cleaning staff and front desk were pleasant and helpful. When I come back to London I will stay here as it is very central. My wife and I walked everywhere, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, London Bridge, the Eye, West Minister Abbey and all the other big tourist attractions all about an 1/2 to 1 hour walk. Very central to all the good eating and shopping
J. R. F.
Service in restaurant is terrible. There were almost no people there but staff did not come over, we had to go every single time to the bar to order or ask something. We have a corporate rate here and do more than 100roomnights per year but every time service seems to get worse maybe we should start looking at other hotels
F. 2.
Great location in easy walking distance of sites to visit.
Great service. Rooms very adequate
Breakfasts exceptional value set you up for the day.
I would stay again no question.
G. F.
Good location and night sleep. Good bar and staff. Poor bathroom: lowest quality toilet paper ever seen, worse than National Rail and only one towel p/person, when world's lowest standard is two...!
V. v. U.
Thought it was okay, however I didn't book breakfast since we are vegan. Informed the personal about this on arrival, asked what was available, was told beans, hash browns, croissants, fruit, bread etc. Are the hash browns fried in vegetable oil, aren't the croissants made with butter etc? Do you supply vegan milk, yogurt etc? No. We tried the breakfast once, never again. Over ten pounds per head and you can't even be bothered to supply milk or cheese for us. We're offered beans etc, I don't want a cooked breakfast (especially one that consists of beans on toast), I want a selection of bread and things to go on that bread. Jam isn't enough. I want yogurt to go with the fruit. I've booked to stay at Ibis Styles in Glasgow next week and have paid for breakfast in advance. I informed the hotel months ago that we're vegan. There had better be a better selection otherwise I will hit the roof.
L. P.
i was given a room that had not been cleaned, hairs and other fibers in the bed. I asked for another room and the manager to come and look at the room and he informed me that is the way all beds are. there was no iron, one -plug outlet that worked, and constantly being asked by staff if i had a room there, (i was literally the only black guest i saw my entire visit). There was a random fire drill early in the morning which caused panic among the guests because the stairs weren't clearly labeled. I walked down 12 flights of stairs to be told that this was a drill and we could walk back up 12 flights to our rooms. housekeeping constantly went in and out of rooms around me to clean and let every door slam. I had to go out in the hallway to ask them to stop slamming the doors. The bed is a cot. and it is hard. the bathrooms are very small and there is only a random plug in there for someone who shaves. there isnt an iron or any face towels, just 2 large towels. I called the front desk and half of the time no one answered. There is not an efficient process to get a taxi and uber drivers cancelled because of the location and the lack of parking.
L. G.
The restaurant was good as it has a separate gluten free menu to accommodate my needs. The food was excellent! The room was also nice apart from the bed which was quite hard and moved with the slightest movement.
J. H.
A great easy process booking in, lovely clean and comfortable room supported by efficient and friendly staff. Everything is thought of and catered for making my stay in the hotel a very pleasurable experience.
I. K.
Lovely environment, everything is clean and well presented. Room was on the small side and the bathroom was a pod. But saying that, it was still a very enjoyable place to stay.. The breakfast was amazing.
A. H.
Efficient check-in. Room adequate for a short stay but no drawers for clothes and limited hanging space. Kettle/tea/coffee supplied. Break fast very good selection apart from only poached eggs - no scrambled/fried option.
J. S.
Great position, clean and modern. Staff are hospitable and Gilbert, who worked the night shift, was beyond fantastic. So friendly and helpful, he really took the time to look after us and even ordered in pizza at 2.30am.
В. М.
Our experience was quite good. It's a good hotel, with nice staff, a perfect location, a good breakfast and expensive prices at the restaurant, at least for the water... It's a normal disease in this kind of hotels... 4 GBP por a 1L water bottle? Too much...
C. H.
Crappt hotel.
Cartpy rooms, no view, food is not good, no fridge or safe in the room.
Water pressure is inconsistent.
They don't respect religious people, for example food restrictions, they don't allow you to bring your own food.
Bad hotel!
B. W.
If you are looking for comfort, avoid the Twin Room...
The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and neither my friend nor I had a good night sleep and instead of waking up feeling refreshed and ready to combat a day of enjoyable sightseeing and excursions in London, we woke with feelings of discontent and both in pain after a terrible night's sleep.
The staff were very nice upon arrival and the decor within the hotel was equal to this, however, on the basis of the comfort of the bed being the main draw of a room (especially for the price paid), I wouldn't recommend this room and this has put me off staying in an Ibis in future.
Premier Inn is and continues to be, the way forward for me!
P. W.
Very good location, close to the Underground, close to the Train for Gatwick.
Walking distance to many of the tourist sites.
Very clean. Helpful staff.
But not my favorite hotel stay. I was restless both nights, not my favorite mattress to sleep on
C. F.
A nice place to stay.
J. A.
It was a good hotel. Room was small, but very affordable and if you don't plan on spending much time in the room, it's perfect.
D. V.
I stayed here on my own travelling for work. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you're a solo traveller. All staff were friendly and welcoming and the restaurant was full of loners like me :) My only minor criticism was that the shower wasn't as powerful as mine at home but everything else was spot on.
N. L.
All was fine, early check in didn't work as the room was not ready, but that was fine, greatest point to highlight was the breakfast which was served until noon on weekend; and we've got a breakfast package when leaving too early - that was awesome!
A. A.
Hotel is fine with good location. Registration is done in a modern “mobile mode” in the lobby. Unfortunately, this translates in a bit of a mess with people standing in the middle of the place wondering “where is the check in?”, making more or less a queue, and blocking the way for patrons. In a word, the check-in is not efficient.
k. V.
As usual, I knew what I was expecting when stating at Ibis. The room is practical and clean, the check in was simple and easy, and they gave me a quiet room as per my request. Breakfast was nice, and the restuarant was clean and appealing.
M. I. C.
It was brilliant from start to finish! We had a warm welcome at reception, I was impressed by the technology to check us in - all done on an iPhone and we were given a choice of floors
room was bigger than expected and more facilities than I expected
L. B.
Clean, and comfortable. Very close (2 mins walk) to Southwark station. Chic entrance and reception. Bar/restaurant has nice atmosphere and good food/drink. Very affordable considering London's high level of expense. Recommended to anyone travelling to London for business and leisure.
S. J.
Love this hotel. does not feel budget at all. Great views of the London Eye so request this when booking. location is top! walking distance to a lot of attractions, tube station just 100m around corner and a great restaurant and shops street just around the corner called 'the cut'. Highly recommend!
B. S.
Simple but good sized rooms that are clean and offer great views if you are on a higher floor. The 'pod' bathrooms are a bit weird though. Breakfast is great.
A. N.
this hotel has grown on me. I normally prefer conventional places like Hilton etc, but the ibis way has the virtue of simplicity and convenience. the staff is courteous and friendly, the rooms clean and convenient.
J. F.
Very polite and helpful employees, especially the young waitress.
The mattress is not made for sleeping more than 3 days , then suffering pain in the back and no relaxing night.
VERY BAD AND ANNOYNIG. We aksed for the price of the taxi to Gatwick, the lady at the reception called the provider and confirmed 59 Pounds in Cash. So I held 70 Pounds in cash for paying the taxi. Then almost at the airport, the driver advised us to pay 90 Pounds. His argumenation was, the original price is 64 Pound and then he took a small detour that I could take photos of the Battersea Power Station and that he was driving slowly and carefully due to the problems in the back (as described above). IE, 3 times discrepancy, 1. 59 Pounds quoted instead of 64 - 2. A mall detour charged very expensive - 3. driving slowly and carefully as an extra ? , so usually he drives wild and dangerously ? We arrinve just in time for checking in with luggage, even checked out early, so there was no time to discuss , apart we had to stop at an ATM to retrieve more cash. This is really abusing the guests and leaving a very bad and poor impression of the english treatment for tourists.
I DO EXPECT TO RECEIVE THE COMPESATION OF 30 POUNDS VIA MY CREDIT CARD ASAP.
D.
Rooms are poky, but clean and bed comfortable. Decent selection at breakfast as well. If possible, try and get a room that's not next door to someone who likes playing chinese pop music at 5.30 am
S. B.
Very simple and relatively affordable accommodations. Good breakfast buffet. Close to Southwark tube stop. Walking distance to most central London sights. If you're just looking for a place to sleep while exploring London then this is a decent option.
t.
A fairly normal Ibis experience.
Nothing was terrible, and nothing was great. Room was average and pretty much a clone of every other Ibis I've been in. I really dislike the strange pre-formed bathrooms they seem to drop in to every room.
Breakfast was decidedly average.
A. N.
First rate accommodation with personable staff. Slightly noisy and a little more expensive than it warrants but overall would still recommend it for ease of travel into town etc.
K. F.
Typical Ibis hotel in a great location. Super fast, wifi, great breakfast (yes, it is very great and I totally recommend it: but they overdo the PR for it). I also enjoyed the hotel restaurant to have dinner.
P. R.
Wonderful Ibis hotel, vibrant bar, lovely staff and an Ibis hotel room on great location! And I got a dessert voucher upon arrival!! Don't know why but it was a lovely surprise!! Will return!!
S. F.
The hotel is situated in a great location, the staff is really friendly and the breakfast surprisingly tasty. Definitely recommended both for business and leisure stay 👍
S. D.
We had an excellent time here. Our rooms were ready when we arrived so we could drop off our bags even though we were quite early. It was very comfortable and clean.
B. P.
It doesn’t have a real bed. Is a box and on top of it they placed a placed a mat. I am 7 months pregnant and it was impossible to sleep. I regret my stay there. The room was dirty as well (countertop with glass spots, the toilet flushing bottom was dirty)
E. M.
Good value, pretty standard, nothing special. No carpet in rooms, and they use a one piece modular plastic unit in each room for the bathroom. It works fine.
A. J. (.
Contemporary hotel, great, helpful and friendly staff. Simple but clean rooms. Great breakfast buffet. Bus stop in front of the hotel. Approx. 20 mins walk across the Millennium bridge to restaurants and bars
M. G.
Great location, with reliable Ibis motel rooms (those pod bathrooms etc.). Really excellent buffet breakfast options, and a bar you'd like to sit in even if you weren't staying.
E. S.
Nice cute hotel. Good location. Very close to public transportation and bodegas restaurants pubs. The hotel itself has a nice bar and cafe
A. H.
😍Excellent service here. Modern styling in the lobby and restaurant but the actual room was a bit basic. Good value for money and excellent location so brilliant for family visits
s. h.
Great location, easy 5-10 minute walk from Waterloo.
Walked to Embankment for Proud Cabaret, but got a taxi home.
Very clean and simple hotel.
Excellent breakfast in the morning.
e. l.
Lobby is done very well. Looks good and doesn't feel like a Ibis. Rooms are above basic but more then adequate and spacious.
Rooms are available for day hire 10am - 6pm
F. M.
Lovely hotel, amazing staff - thank you
S. W.
A short walk from Southwark station. Very friendly staff. They have a basket of free tiny apples at the reception to help you reach your 5 a day. Breakfast was great, lots to choose from.
D. M.
Met by friendly staff, check in was efficient.
Room was all we needed it to be
Could have done with larger / more towels
Grab and Go Breakfast worked well and no problem to leave our cases for the day
M. H.
ibis London Blackfriars is in a great location less than a minute from Southwark underground, you can also walk to St Pauls across the Millennium bridge in about 15 minutes from here. Room was OK, not much room for hanging clothes however. Nice breakfast and friendly staff, good wifi! -- we would stay here again
F. A. F.
The interior (room and lobby) and atmosphere had been more like being in YMCA. I actually never have ben in a hotel where 2 people have to share one blanket though it had been pretty big. Shower/CR-cabin like being in an airplane. Breakfast not at my liking ...
J. E.
A good hotel with a good team 😃!!!
n. s.
Staff as usual helpful and friendly, good standard of cleanliness. Only comment I would make as an afterthought is I found the pillows a little too firm for my personal taste. But not bad enough to make a complaint.
C. B.
Good deals for the location but it's trying to deliver something it can't always live up to. Check-in experience is clunky - these guys on mobiles run the whole thing but they got lost. I gave them my first name of nick and they couldn't find my booking. I sat down to get out the laptop and find a booking reference. Found it, gave them a code they went off... Then came back saying 'who is this person on the booking?' the issue was that they had my first name as 'Nicholas'.... Give me someone behind a desk who knows what they are doing rather than that 20 minute run around any day! Then i got upstairs and the room has no remote control for the TV! Good location, good deals, but just the execution let's them down
V. v. R.
Nice staff, clean and neat hotel. The rooms are cleaned daily, and of a desent size. Great pizza in the restaurant!
D. F.
Hotel is ok, beds are a plus, shower cabins feel a bit weird but work quiet well. annoying was that each time I left my room my key card needed to be reactivated
K. S.
Great location, within easy walking distance to City of London area. Great breakast. Comfortable room but did not have good enough lighting for dressing table area.
J. H.
The best staff ever! The hotel was so clean, the breakfast was great with so many things... location also really good. But the staff was the best ❤😍
H. M.
Good service in the reception area, however the bathroom walls were cracked in a number of places and the towels had a distinctly yellowish tinge. More care needed in the bathrooms please!
J. W.
You can't go wrong with Ibis, their hotel chain is pretty minimalistic and identical in most of the places found. This one is actually located in a great place and very close to central London. Within 5 minutes walking distance, you can find some good restaurants, the tube station as well as a supermarket
C. U.
Great location for access to London. steps away from the Southwick tube (Jubilee line) and Tate Modern Museum. Breakfast and food in general was very good. Nice rooms and staff. Free Wi-Fi
P. v. D.
Last minute booking, but very efficient check in. Room was clean and neat in a quiet location. Will probably use again. I didn't eat there so can't comment on the food.
D. P.
Decent room and good bed, but noisy. But we are here to celebrate new year and with a view on the London eye we can enjoy the fireworks even laying on bed with a nice glass of wine!
M. Z. G.
Hotel location is great, just over Blackfriars bridge on south Bank. Rooms functional, basic, but reasonable (London) prices. Didn't use restaurants, plenty of eateries about. Check in simple enough and staff friendly.
t. v. g.
Well, the is the worst ibis hotel that I have ever been in! I have no idea how to describe how rude the people who work in the reception they are too too rude and clueless!!! Plus the housekeeper open the door and inter the room whenever she want even if you are inside the room!!!!!!! And I have visited A LOT of places and hotels but I have NEVER EVER seen something like this!!!! never gonna go back to ibis hotels EVER!
R. M.
Great area near the tube, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast, room was a bit small for my liking, not the best cleaning in the room, one towel was so worn it had a hole in it, no noise from rooms next door so slept ok, didn't like the plastic bathroom.
M. C.
The staff are really good and thoughtful. Rooms are big and modern. Only thing missing is a mini fridge. I think The safety deposit Boxes should be inside The guest Room.
J. F.
Everything was much better than we expected! Nowadays, Ibis are improving day by day!
Special thanks to Patricia and Luca, who made our stay even better and resolved all our doubts about the hotel and London! Big hug from a happy customer and a coworker from Pullman Bcn Skipper!
M. A. D.
But couldn't fault the stay. Staff are very helpful. Room is basic as you would expect. Offer good breakfast and a nice evening bar.
V. M.
Modern design, very nice and compact rooms, I requested higher room, my room view was to the london eye, very nice view, the breakfast wasnt included, it expensive but very rich BF.
1 minute walk from metro station, 5 minutes walk from the river.
m. h.
We stay here at least twice a year, we have always found the staff very friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable. It is also very quiet
A. D. (. A.
Stayed many times. Great friendly welcome. Room clean modern comfortable basic. Breakfast busy but well managed and fresh.
L. v. R.
One of the better Ibis hotels in the UK. Very friendly staff, clean and well presented room. Buffet breakfast was very good as well, will stay here again.
K. C.
Decent hotel in a nice location. Reasonably priced. Clean room. Most important of all: the beds are good, in the end that;s all that counts.
P. K.
Nice clean room. Only annoyance was the sound of the lifts from my room. Other friends couldn't hear them so I was just unlucky. Would definitely stay again.
V. K.
Comfortable well located trendy hotel. The Staff are friendly and the food is good, get up early for breakfast it’s very busy!
P. G.
Great hotel for reasonable price. Breakfast not included in room price, but is well worth every penny. Quite small rooms but well cleaned.
P. M.
Quick check in. Friendly service from staff. Bathroom needs attention, extractor fan not working and sink plug not closing. Otherwise generally good.
J. M.
Location is excellent, seconds away from the tube. Lovely hotel. Very clean. Comfortable rooms. 5 mins walk from the southbank. Good restaurants and shops nearby.
L. S.
Really nice breakfast, convenient and a good price. Unfortunately both the bed and pillow were far too hard for me and there was no warm water so I had to take an ice cold shower in the morning.
c. h.
When staying in London, "ibis London Blackfriars" is the place where we stay. The young staff is friendly and helpful, the size of the room is just right, clean and bright. And there is a nice breakfast buffet you should not miss.
B. M.
Very close to all the sights, only 10 minutes from the London Eye and other sights
Check in was easy with very helpful staff
rooms are good size, clean and airy
We stayed on 11th floor and found the shower pressure a little weak but not too much of a problem
Would stay again
P. G.
Fantastic 4 nights sleep which is the most important thing. Very convenient location for Southwark or Waterloo. Everything feels nice and new in the hotel, breakfast is nice although increadably salty.
J. S.
Functional and clean hotel. Good value for your money. Close to publjc transport and New Tate! Skip the hotel breakfast and head out to wonderful cafes around Tate!
P. O.
Very friendly team, breakfast yummy and well priced at around 10 pounds. Clean rooms and nice location with public transport nearby. All you need for a quick trip in London.
K. K.
Good value for the.price and about 15min from London center by tube. Neighbourhood is quiet but lots of restaurants and 3 lively bars close by. The staff has speedy and great service. Will definitely come back
C. B.
We didn't stay in the hotel, but ate here--which, that was a godsend on a Boxing Day late arrival, as nothing else was open. The pasta portion was a bit small for the money; the pizza was enough for two and not too shabby.
J. Y.
I will definitely stay here again. The best bed I've slept in for ages. Even better than premier Inn. Everything you need, good location and whilst the price is still insane, it's slightly less insane than everywhere else.
S. F.
The admin manage told me not to have parents and 2 kids in the room, and told me that they will call the security, what a big suprise in Christmas.
They should tell clearly that this is the security and insurance issues when people make booking, and not just mislead their client to query about the room size.
REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES!
G. R.
I really like this hotel. It's near my office and has a tube station at the end of the road. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, nice breakfast and nice atmosphere.
N. L.
Positively surprised, spent a night here for a biz trip. Rooms are OK, interior not premium but clean. Breakfast was great
M. L.
Very regular ibis hotel, it's not expensive for London!
But you'll have the strict minimum.
Very convenient for saint Pancras, you can take a red bus straight to the hotel #63.
j. s.
Very good service! The staff members were always nice to us. The rooms are little, but are also clean and cozy.
E. B.
Great location, staff attentive and friendly, room great, only things preventing 5 stars, lack of power in shower and smallish towel. For what it is really good
D. O.
It was nice, but I had to say that the room this time had some issues with the bed, seems to be broken on one of the sides, which was a bit of disgusting surprise. Usually your room's bed is one of the most comfortable that I've been.
J. H.
The best 3 star hotel that we've ever been to , the staff were very nice and very helpful , everything happend on time . Highly recommended !
A. H.
Not a great stay, the toilet was semi blocked, the iron was secured to the ironing board so strongly it was impossible to use and noise from other rooms was very loud
A. M. K.
Very clean, comfort room.
Nice people in the reception.
24/7 service.
The only thing was missing is vegtebles in breakfest.
L. P.
The hotel is at the heart of London city and very close to Southwark and blackfrais station. The Thames is near by as well. Room are decent and clean, not very spacious thou. However, this is perhaps the standard if you need to stay in central London
A. D.
The lobby is very pretty, and has a comfortable atmosphere. However, a lot of wind comes in. The room was ok. Nothing more than we needed.
K. B.
Can't think of anything to improve - unless you just make it cheaper! But there is one thing that was irritating, namely the on-line check-in, which took me nearly half an hour (for 2 couples), much longer than a "human" check-in: do you really need all of this guff, most of which is available from the booking itself and - I would have thought - could be taken over directly from that, perhaps with a facility to overwrite where necessary. The actual arrival was very easy, though.
J. S.
Decent hotel. But you can hear everything that goes on outside your room. Dinner menu is also very microwaved
u. a. a.
Besides the one issue of no working toilet for tnhe 4 day stay it was great. But that issue to to long to fix and compensation wasnt enough. I will be canceling my planned stay in july.
L. C.
Very nice and beautiful hotel. Reasonably priced. Soraya was kind and very professional. She received me very well and was very polite. Ibis should be glad to have her.
a. O.
Was given a handicap accessible room and beds were a bit harder than I prefer. Hotel was clean and well located. Staff was freiendly
p. h.
Close to the Tube station (jubiliee line) 100 meters max. and at 3 or 4 station of the O2 millenium dome.
the room is quite small but confortable and calm.
I will come back
R. M.
Pleasant staff, really comfortable beds and a good breakfast. Close to Waterloo train station and Southwark tube, and 5 minutes from my work 😉
L. H.
This hotel has contemporary design with their friendly and helpful staff. It would be nice if they can compare to Holiday Inns free breakfast.
S. K.
Comfortable room, lovely bed, good shower. We had the half-board deal and thought the food was great and the deal good value.
D. H.
hotel very clean and Bright that staffs enthusiasm , kindly and helpful.
Location very good , i so regret didn't lived there one more day.
M. P.
Very good value for money. Staff is very friendly and helpful! Rooms can be a bit noisy though because of wooden flooring...
A. M.
Basic room however very clean and tidy. Nice place to get your head down. Restaurant downstairs is modern and very good.
A. S.
Perfect!
Ideal Location, brilliant breakfast, super nice rooms, very neat and clean, staff extremely helpful and comforting as well as polite, modern and stylisch ambience!

Great location and price. It’s convenient if you want to visit London. Tube is at the corner or the street (1 min). You also can get to St. Paul’s or London Eye in about 15 min. by foot.
T. G. M.
Staff really helpful and welcoming. Room clean and Tidy and quiet as requested.
Breakfast superb.
Bed really comfortable.

clean, great service
J. A.
3 times weve booked an early check in and they are never ready. Dont see why they cant prioritize having certian rooms ready. Reception staff are unhelpful and dishonest.
W. D.
Lively hotel with great reception and bar. Small but comfortable and contemporary rooms. Interesting take on breakfast too
L. G.
Far to find good place for food. Lost my laundry there. Bad service. Boring breakfast menu. Had stayed there for 1 week and the same food everyday.
S. B. K.
Adequate rooms, larger bathroom pod then expected. Comfy beds. The staff have been really helpful since I arrived.
P. L.
Good location (not the best but good). Great service, pleasant atmosphere, clean rooms and good value for the price. I would return in the future
P. W.
Basic but clean and functional rooms. Lovely restaurant / bar / breakfast area. Breakfast choice is very good.
J. D.
Great little hotel in central London on the south bank of the Thames. Accessible via Southwark and Blackfriars, and also bakerloo if you want to walk a little further.
j. t.
Good breakfast. Quite minimal rooms but very clean. I booked late so it was expensive - over £200 per night.
L. B.
Great service, great breakfast
Encountered some problems but very satisfactorily resolved by hotel manager-supervisor.That experience will make us stay in this hotel again and recommend to friends
P. T.

Staff is nice, location is perfect, but rooms at not within the standard of I was expecting for the price and compared to other Ibis hotels I visited
D. D.
I have very good memories of all stays in IBIS hotel and this one was perfect....super clean and new and nice...nice staff...very nice bar in lobby....the design is beautiful....for the price I can say one of the cheapest and for location from 2 sides it is near different metro station and it is really in the center...highly recommended
D. T.
Good place to stay for a small wallet. The bar is really good and even better. One star less cause beds are hard as a brick.
J. A. S.
Clean and friendly environment. Rooms and especially the bathrooms were a bit small. Reminded me of a slighly larger cruise ship cabin.
N. W.
Simple and fast check in. Small but comfortable room. Fast WiFi..good location. Excellent value overall..
P. (.
Nice clean room. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Reasonable price.
J. A.
Very good hotel, good location and excellent breakfast. Staff very attentive and helpful. Will back on next trip to London.
E. L.
We were trying to find a place to have a late dinner. When everyone said no, Kevin at the bar was kind enough to offer dinner and drinks.
Now I'm considering staying at this hotel.
Thank you Kevin!
J. S.
Good service and an excellent dinner. Room good but a little small. Did the job for a local business requirement.
H. B.
Nice little Hotel. Fine Breakfast. Small bar. London's Pride (draft beer). Clean rooms. Nice and tiny bathroom.
S. G.
Lovely stuff ... hotel ideally situated if you want to hang arround central London. Breakfast is definitely a must take !
D. W.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Clean and comfortable room. A good choice for a London hotel.
G. C.
Great staff, decent bar and restaurant. Room was clean and tidy but lots of noise outside overnight.
C. G.
Clean, Nice, for a shot stay. Checking and checkout really easy. Small rooms!
M. H.
A bit frantic but a very nice London Hotel - great breakfast. Competitively prices and a very comfortable room with good amenities.
C. P.
Very friendly and helpful staff
V. T.
Clean room. Great location with easy access to all of Zone 1. Staff were incredibly friendly. Great buffet bast.
E. S.
The hotel is in a very good position.
Cost is the right one if compared with the offered quality.
I have no doubts to suggest this hotel.
B. K.
Great location and nice personal. Breakfast is quite good, but prepare to eventually stand in queue for that.
J. G.
Good hotel in London for the price. The room is nothing special but quite adequate if you don't need to spend the whole day in your room.
V. J.
Great accomodation and service. The location is convenient for commuting around. Offers good food on the go as well.
C. C.
Good budget option with friendly staff and good restaurant.
Very close to the Southwark underground station and within a walking distance from London Bridge.
A. K.
there is a bus station right in front of hotel,
very quiet and comfortable rooms
staff is very very nice and help you wherever they can
would always come back there had the best time .
G. W.
- Two areas of concerns :
a) Being a vegetarian, there weren't many options for breakfast and the staff was not cooperative enough to manage something in spite of addressing my concern to them
b) The mattress on the bed was not very comfortable
H. H.
Room was quiet and comfortable. Ideal location for central London. Hotel had a brilliant breakfast choice.
G. S.
I have stayed at this Ibis hotel at least 5 - 6 times, Ibis Blackfriars in London. It is a lot of value for money and one of the best hotels in this price-range I ever stayed in. Hakan Hallen
B. B.
Lovely hotel and room
L.
Clean rooms, nice employees, great service. Very nice breakfast...The poached eggs are delicious!
H. S.
Decent hotel. Literally a 1-minute walk to Southwark underground, which will get you to a lot of London's attractions in 15 minutes or less.
D. C.
Good budget hotel centrally located to many of Londons main attraction. Tube station only steps away from front door.
E. J.
Noisy from next door guests and some sort of water tank making noises throughout the night. Small room with what can only be described as a bathroom pod bolted to the corner of the room
A. D.
It was a great experience. Room with city view, clean, good space, very nice reception and great staff.
T.
Arrived yesterday and had to move room 3 times first room was for a disabled person got moved to another room and it has ants crawling around the floor and shelf were our clothes were moved us into another room for a disabled person again so were leaving this hotel we have to find another hotel for the next 6days also charged us 137 pounds for a room that we couldn't even sleep in toilet handle broke off and a big generated outside window
D. M.
All I heard was the lifts up and down most of the night. Then people getting up. Rooms fine but no real sound proofing to showers and toilets.
P. H.
Good hotel nice and clean. Friendly staff and good food in the restaurant. Breakfast has a good selection.
T. J.
Very easy to check in. Decent size modern room. Free WiFi. Comfortable mattress/pillows

For the price that we paid we got a good room with a giant double bed. Very satisfied overall, would raccomend
G. S.
Great hotel close to the southwark underground station. The only thing i can complain about is the ala carte menu, the food felt cheap and was not worth the money, nearby restaurants are to recommend!
N. D.
It is OK. I have stopped in a lot of London hotels and this is in a good location but is simply a chain hotel.
A. E. D.
Stayed here for a conference, comfortable clean rooms . Good buffet breakfast. Cozy bar for the evenings.
J. T.
Very small room, very weird bathroom, small tv, you can't fully open the Window, there is no iron, they give you only gel tubes for full body cleaning, besides that you are very close to the metro station and eye of london.
N. A.
Clean, friendly staff, good assortment for breakfast. 2 minute walk from the Southwark station and walking distance to all the attractions.
A. A.
very pleasant overall
S. T.
Stopped by for a latte after a long day at work. Excellent service, good latte, stayed for an hour and got some extra work done! Will be going again.
M. C.
Nice hotel, good breakfast, nothing amazing but good value, clean and tidy.
J. C.
Fantastic value in the heart of London. Great room, breakfast very good. No brainer.
R. C.
If you’re looking for a confortable stay with a spectacular view on London City you’re in the right place!
Just amazing!
J. L.
The Ibis quality is always pretty standard. It's a safe bet everywhere if you're not looking for anything fancy
D. S.
Really cool interior design, friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms. Worth to mention there isn't any noise from the streets of London.
D. S.
Really cool, fit everything we needed, the breakfast choices were Amazing! Great location too.
C. A.
Lovely clean eatery, not cheap but worth the money. Rooms clean, roomy and quiet and staff exceptional
F. G.
Basic but very clean room. Staff were very helpful, welcoming and appeared enthusiastic. Would definitely come back.
J. L.
Amazing staff! Perfectly located a few minutes wall from everything! And a great breakfast.
c. g.
Very nice hotel conveniently located near Southwark Station. It is however not very near to the Waterloo East Station
C. H.
Good location, but in the rooms you can hear water runing from neighbors rooms all night long...
傅.
A nice, affordable base in London, excellent location to see the sites and use the London Underground to get around. Would definitely stay here again.
I. B.
Very satisfied with everything! Especially the wheelchair accessible room. The only thing I would suggest is the water can be stronger.
D. C.
Comfortable and great location. The check-out is too early, but for 10 extra pounds you get late check-out.
T. B.
The room was clean when I arrived, not very much choice of teas in the room (breakfast, peppermint or green) and the dirty cup from day one was still there on day two
T. F. d. A.
Good location close to walk to central London and immediately next to Southwark tube station
Rooms were spacious and clean & breakfast was very good.
N. S.
Nice service and breakfast, but the rooms are very basic
d. M.
Clean rooms, good and quick customer service and great variaty of food for breakfast. Reasonable London prices.
J. F.
Check in staff fabulous, breakfast good value and nice choices, room large and very comfy bed and clean.
L. E.
Good value and great location. Very convenient location to tube. It is kind of boring at night as the neighborhood in close proximity is mostly corporate offices.
A. A.
Excellent location in the Southwark district, close to the Tate and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre...rooms appointed to look like berths on a yacht
e. c.
Very modern style hotel. Unfortunately they did serve drinks (even coffee/tea) after 1am
K. J. T.
We loved ibis. Just off the tube line. London at your fingertips. Breakfast is the best to be found. Good beds.
V. B.
Apart from the dirty room floor, the pubic hair in the shower area and the used condom which was lying at the main entrance, the arrogant barmaid, our stay was bearable.
E. F.
Lights at the room weren't working properly! 2 out of 3.
Bed wasn't comfy, you should work on the infrastructure..
The personnel saved the day.. they were kind.
A. M.
Clean and spacious hotel. Very well located but you pay for it. £££££
C. D. C.
Great location, close to everything, small room, awkward bathroom & angle of bathroom door. Room cleaning could be more thorough.
