Reviews of Islington Inn
I think that this hotel might have changed since many of the reviews were written, perhaps during the pandemic. Having just been there (July 2021), there was no Asian style to the hotel (I doubt that it's owned by Tommy Rihasis. If it is, he's not invested much money in it). There was also no breakfast served. You just get a room for the night. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and the shower worked fine. There was a kettle in the room and some tea-bags, but no milk. There were no facilities in the hotel: no gym, bar or restaurant. Your key doesn't let you into the front door. You have to be let in, and there are times when reception is left unguarded, so you have to wait for them to come back. It is cheaper than most other places in London, so it has its uses when you just need a room quickly. I would not expect a fancy experience though.
The £50 rooms are very basic, a bed with space to dress and undress, and a good en suite. They rang and warned me that the room was small, but it was fine for me, as I was only there to sleep. If you want to sit in the room and read during the day go for one of the bigger ones. Friendly staff, nice breakfast, maddeningly slow lift.
Pictures paint an unrealistic view of the hotel. There were no flowers in my room for example. Whilst the reception area was pleasant, I found my room to be tired. There were stains on the carpet and the windows rattled. There is free wifi, which is handy, however the wifi is restricted to the reception area. In my basement room, there wasn't even a mobile phone signal (vodafone).
It's a bit of a walk from the nearest tube (Angel), however buses are frequent and take just a couple of minutes from the hotel. Islington is an excellent location so from this point of view it is recommended.
The hotel has an Indian theme - as might be guessed from the name. This includes the food - the meal I had was excellent and worth trying. The breakfast service also good. Staff were very friendly, helpful and pleasant.
Only reason I gave 3 stars and not 4 is that I felt a little deceived by the photographs posted on the hotel website (which you will also find have been propagated to various hotel brokers websites).
The reception was amazing! The rooms were alright, very clean! Bus station is 2 feets away! Everything you need you will find it near there.
Single budget room - small but comfortable room. Clean and good value. Breakfast is very minimal, but location is good and the surrounding area is nice
Decent enough room, clean but tired looking. A little noisy as it was near the road.
Basic breakfast but filled a hole
Excellent bed & breakfast, staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and well presented and all for low price. What more can you ask for in central London
Nice people, given a better room than when we first arrived. Easy to get back into hotel however late at night.
A old hotel with a very nice staff and the minimum facilities. I can’t say it’s awesome but it provides what you pay for.
Excellent location. Good breakfast. Clean rooms. Fab shower.
Good for the money, cheapest with a breakfast, good for transport links, friendly staff. Would recommend
Cheap and Cheerful..
Clean beds, good shower, towels, kettle
Nice, clean, friendly staff. People sayin the breakfast w subpar but I ain't detectin it. Respect
Very welcoming and nice little room. Breakfast was a bit bare, but food is food
It's clean, basic, relatively cheap. Good for the area if you want that.
- Noisy at nights. Poor breakfast. Tiny rooms.
+ Clean rooms and helpful stuff.
The hotel is pretty far for the tube, with the only close connection being the bus one. The rooms are pretty old, as the whole building
Cosy and quiet, helpful staff and good prices for decent en-suite bathroom and shower with free wi-fi
Rooms & toilets are too small, but clean and comfortable
Perfectly acceptable for the price. Could do with nicer bathrooms an new beds :)
Excellent hotel, great location and helpful , friendly staff. Thank you
Didn't really like the place. My room was in the basement area getting down through dome weird steps.
I did not dislike it, but I did not like it either ... Been there for a night only, but I couldn't have staid more. Room was awfully small and colour on the walls did not make it any better. But it was clean. Breakfast quite simple.
Good clean hotel, excellent value for money
For London it is a good value hotel, room is clean and tidy
Comfy bed, clean room, okay breakfast :)
For the price, and for a short stay it's OKAY. Avoid basement rooms and book a double room if your budget allows.
Cheap and affordable. Perfect for a last minute overnight stay
great experience feel very welcome and very pleasant food is great
Very nice.
Very pleasant, rooms clean and comfortable
The only thing going for this place is the location. Management really need to update the place. Tattered and dated
Reasonable prices good location eating and drinking places near by
Nothing bad to say. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. Lady in kitchen so attentive to comments made guests feel appreciated. Location was good for us. I had understood that free parking was offered while it was not. I would have Loved a continental Breakfast. The rooms have pretty good sound proofing.
3 stars hotel. Easy access to subway station.
Clean and friendly staff at a fair price.
Great and friendly b&b. Bus stop at the door
Put me up at last minute at past midnight. Very helpful.
Clean n tidy with a friendly staff
Simple clean. Had a good night's sleep
Friendly staff, most helpful. Ideal to get to The Arsenal
Good location and a nice easy stop over
Nice place to rest. 😊
Great custom service ever
The staff was nice. Lots of amenities in walking distance. Room size was a bit small. The walk to the hotel is about a block around the corner from the bus stop. Taxi was quite easy to get as there were ***y circling around the main road nearby. The price was pretty reasonable for the hotel.
Clean, functional B&B.
Very nice
Great deal
Cheap and cheerful

Yeah
Great location with many places to eat and directly across the street from buses to Central London. Staff is very friendly but the rooms could use some updates. They are small, but, clean. The walls are very thin and if you have a noisy neighbor-- like I did-- their noise carries. They serve breakfast in the mornings but I opted for the coffee shop just down the way.
Requires an upgrade
Nice place

Well located, with plenty of shops nearby. The room itself is decent, not very big but sufficient. The staff is attentive and pleasant. The breakfast served is a continental breakfast. In short, a completely standard hotel, nothing special to report.
Although the property does not have a great reputation, in my case the room is good, a little noisy being on the street and with visibly old furniture and upholstery. Also the stairs and corridors should be renovated. Breakfast is of poor quality. Free but open wifi (use a VPN to navigate) with a stable speed of 200 KBps.
(Translated) Pleasant enough easy to access. Small but well appointed rooms. Old London building of the 19th which has its charm and its history. Too bad some people make false comments about the reality of this hotel on booking sites
(Original)
Agreable assez facile d acces . Chambres petites mais bien agencées. Vieille bâtisse londonienne du 19eme qui a son charme et son histoire. Dommage que certains fassent des commentaires faux sur la réalité de cet hotel sur des sites de réservations
I admit that I was reluctant due to some harmful comments that I read. It is a three-star hotel and as such we cannot expect five-star service. But I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort, tranquility and kindness of the staff. We have stayed three nights and I have an excellent impression. I definitely recommend it.
スタッフは親切でテキパキとした感じでいろいろと相談に乗ってくれます。ロケーションがよく、何かと便利でした。寝心地は良かったです。次回も利用しようと思っている。
Nice little B&B hotel located in a quieter area of Islington. Short bus ride to central London, approx. 15 min. 24-hour reception. Friendly staff. Clean and tidy in the room and elsewhere in the hotel. The only downside was the very simple breakfast with toast, marmalade and cream cheese. There was also some fruit and a few different types of yoghurt. For the price I paid there should have been a slightly better selection of spreads. Would happily stay there again.
丁寧な対応に感激しました。朝食の種類が豊富で美味しかったです。ベッドが気持ちよかった。ロケーションがすばらしい。
A very friendly B&B which I have stayed at a few times already and is in exactly the right area for me. Located on a street with varied cafes/takeaways, pubs, local shops and conveniently placed small supermarkets. There are also bus stops for several services which run regularly in both directions. Ideal for getting around the city.
It's very old, but accommodation in London is expensive, so I'll make do with it. But the service is good
Small rooms but there is everything you need.
A delightful place
Not so really luxurious
Good hotel.
Small rooms
Quiet hotel
The location is the best for someone who wants to be in paradise. The traffic is easy to navigate. The room was very clean. The slightly battered corridors are actually very clean. Excellent value for money. The amenities of the property we very positive. Breakfast buffet very limited in choice.
Nothing special, Not bad.
Basic rooms but clean linen, tidy room and welcoming smile and help on arrival. Basic breakfast a little underwhelming just toast (white and brown bread). Cheap croissant and mini brioche. Value yogurt and basic fruit offering. One tub of cheese spread but no sliced meat nor cheese nor boiled eggs. Value bran and cornflakes. Hot tea and coffee. Concentrated orange juice. Great eateries near by. And helpful staff on 24 hours who are happy to upgrade. They just need a smile too. Worth noting soft drinks from fridge in reception. Decent price for the room considering close to central London.
