S.I stayed here for a month and a half, I love this hotel, it is my favorite from all over the world. the rooms are clean, airy, the people at the reception are there to help you whenever you need, all the staff are very friendly, including those in the restaurant, as for the food in the restaurant is superior, taste, incredible, absolutely everything. I recommend it with all confidence! I can't wait to get back here!

Initially on walking into the restaurant there seemed to be a slight lack of atmosphere, despite being a Friday night. However the food and service completely made up for that.
The kitchen has a charcoal grill which completely elevates something as simple as a chicken burger, which is what I had. Big, but not too big, plates of food and menu is competitively priced.
Can't speak on the Hotel but the restaurant is well work a visit even for a beer and some chips.

G. T.Stayed here as I was visiting the London Excel centre. The room was very clean and there was lots of space. I was also impressed with the mini fridge that was in the room. There were however a few stains on the carpet and some of the fixtures and fittings were a bit loose. I had also paid for parking on site. The car park was very small but had a locked gate which was good. When I left it was very difficult to get out of the space because of the tightness of the car park but the staff were excellent in helping me navigate my way out. I ordered some room service which came in no time and it tasted delicious. It was also very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this place but if I went next time I would fine alternative parking or get the train.

v. p.Pretty simple and 24/7. Clean and nice layout with a few shops around and bus stop at sight. Only issue with late bookings is deposit and cash only payments. Nice place for a quick stay.

Room was clean and welcoming. We got the free breakfast included with our stay, you get a separate menu but we had the English breaks fast and they were huge and yummy! The only downside is that it is a little out of the city (requiring either a tube ride, bus, or a combination of both). But that’s London for you! Pictures are of room when we were leaving because I forgot to take pictures when we got there 😊
R. 7.Really pleased with the service. We were allowed to 'check in' slightly early, which was nice. Room was spacious and tidy. Shower was awesome, and air con in the room was great.
Double bed was comfortable.
Had dinner in the restaurant. Food was 5* and waiting staff really helpful, happy and friendly.
I like coffee, and the coffee here was top drawer!
10 min walk from Leyton tube station.
Car parking is available with reservation in advance, but not many spaces.

A. T.I didn't stay here as I live in London . We had food and drinks here and it was very attentive service . Food was great and reasonably priced. It was very noisy when we were eating with 6 small children crying and playing hide and seek around our table. This was not the hotels fault it was the parents who were oblivious of their behaviour. The manager spoke to them and apologised to us with a free drink. It was my friends birthday and they also gave her a complimentary dessert with candle singing happy birthday to her. Very nice touch for our first visit. I recommend visiting this modern hotel for food and drinks. First class.
A. N.Having recently stayed for 5 nights I was very happy with my overall stay. We had 2 rooms which were of a very good standard, rooms were clean and refreshed every day. Food was pretty decent and the portion sizes were large to say the least, bar area was nice and bright with a good selection to choose from, outdoor seating area was handy in the warm weather. Albeit it is on a main road it didn't really bother us too much. Overall good hotel would stay again.

H. M.FOOD REVIEW- Very good customer service from staff and Chefs. Chef was kind enough to make Seafood Spaghetti with White Sauce rather than Tomato sauce which is not on the Menu. Food however was abit bland. Prices are average. Calamari was overcooked. Brioche Burger bun lacked freshness. Would recommend for a quick meal as food is standard but not with high expectations.
J.This hotel is amazing. Completely brand new, ac, everything has been thought of to make a guest stay welcoming and peaceful. Came to Leyton originally to stay in an Airbnb that turned out to be a complete dump, so we ran as quick as we could to the Lion and Key and honestly it turned our whole trip around. The beds were so comfy, the view was nice and it was so quiet despite being in a busy high street area. It literally feels like a west end 4* hotel, but not with the exorbitant price tag. Super close to transport. The staff at the reception and bar are outstanding and took care of us really well, lovely chats. Good food too - we had salmon the night we stayed and the portions were generous.
Honestly I cannot stress enough how intensive this operation is, these guys really did everything right: from materials used in their renovation, to the staff they hired. We will definitely stay again! I’m always back and forth between London and need to be in the East end so this is perfectly situated.

C. B.I stayed here for work, didn't really know what to expect being so close to the centre of London. The cost of the room was a really good price, so I was expecting something small and shabby but instead was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door to find a spacious, modern abode with more than you would need for a couple of nights stay. I decided to eat in the restaurant, and after looking at the menu in the room was expecting cheap oven chips and pure fat burgers, but again was surprised by the quality of the dishes that I ordered! Two courses for only £15, and one of the nicest meals I have had in a long time (and I've stayed in some really fancy/expensive hotels). In all, I would highly rate this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere to stay this side of London, and I will definitely try to come back when working this way again.

Room quality is Premier Inn + 20% (while price is comparable to a room at the Purple Palace).
The lack of parking isn't a great issue, as long as you don't mind a short walk or are getting to the hotel after 6:30pm.
The real win at the Lion & Key though is the restaurant - I ate here for 7 nights and had a truly delicious meal and great service every single night - including one where I couldn't get back until after the kitchen had closed and they kept a meal warm for me.
When I'm in the area again, this will definitely be my go-to hotel.

The rooms are very aesthetically pleasing, and the beds are very comfortable. The toilet offers amazing fixtures (that shower is something dreamy).
Sadly it isn't greatly located (in relation to London centre) but the metro is a 10-15 minute walk away. But what they lack in location they more than make up for with their great service, friendly staff, and room fixtures/furniture. Reasonable amount of TV channels, and they even went so far as to make their start-up TV interface unique, providing you therein with your Wi-Fi key and other fun functionality.
Room cleaning was efficient, although they have a bad habit of leaving white towels on the white shower floor :P this somewhat annoyed me on the odd occasion.
The restaurant had a very ample selection, one I explored a bit of (this hotel is probably one in very few places one can obtain a wholesome meal in London) in my two week stay, and that which I tried, was very tasty. Though the espresso wasn't that great and bordered on acidic.

D. M.Very pleasant stay here. Me and my wife came for our valentines weekend as it was also the first hotel we ever stayed at as a couple. Roll on 3 years and the experience was just as good, it was in fact an improvement on last time as now they have the new care/ restaurant on site too. The staff were very helpful, couldn’t ask for better service. You don’t mind paying extra on special occasions when you know what you’ll receive. L. C.This hotel is wonderful from the reception to the rooms. Probably due to the area you are required to provide ID and have a £50 deposit against damage. Once you have gone past the warm welcome from reception that has a good open clean decor, you will take the lift to your room.
A great sign for a good hotel is cleanliness and sharp chic design. This the hotel has in abundance. Moving to the room. It is spacious modern with an inviting bed and the essentials required for your stay. The TV provides hotel information along with your standard Freeview channels.
The bathroom is immaculate with lovely marble and an excellent shower. The only negative point is having to leave. It is reasonably priced and can be reserved at lower prices if caught in time.
Another plus point is the cafe, bar and grill alongside with a friendly front of the house manager. Service is fast and the food well presented. This is the gem of East London without a doubt and certainly the number one choice for the price. If you are in the area there is no better choice. Excellent!
M. S.Stayed here for 2 nights to see the Rolling Stones at the Olympic stadium. Wonderful hotel, great staff, hotel was very clean, tidy and modern, good powerful shower too. Tried the food in the pub below, 1st time trying Turkish and it was excellent. Very small issues, no full size mirror and the ironing room was a pain and the small ironing board was a nightmare. Would def stay again.
L.This was a brilliant hotel. Friendly staff and amazing quality rooms. Clean and modern. Good transport links in between the Central line and Victoria line. Bus stops are 15 seconds walking distance. I asked for an iron and ironing board which was provided but I had to go down and collect it rather than services bringing it the room. Nevertheless, Great facilities and just a fantastic place to stay.
M. I.ASTONISHING QUALITY AND VALUE for the price. The hotel is small but very modern, lovely and clean. The front desk staff is very kind and accommodating. They were helpful in ordering taxis for us and printing boarding passes. There’s a very handsome young guy that works the night shift and he was always super kind and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend to anyone especially Americans looking for a great place for an awesome price. There’s also a very tasty restaurant called Sahara on the same street. Definitely stop by if you come to this hotel.
R. C.Very clean, newly appointed hotel. Rooms are basically furnished but comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are not very well designed so washing is awkward as the tap gets in the way, the shower is small with no shelf to put wash stuff on.
However the breakfast was lovely and overall it's very good value for money.

V. G.Wonderful, clean, very well maintained and cozy complex, consisting of hotel and restaurant. Rich meow of Turkish cuisine and not only. You see in the pictures how many types of desserts are offered, the Turks are known for their delicious and varied "artworks" in confectionery. Professionals in culinary industry, professionals in maintaining high-quality cleanliness, service professionals ..... I strongly recommend you to visit the complex that you need. Five stars for the restaurant and hotel staff allowed me to shoot everything and gave me maximum information that would be useful to their future customers who use a Google maps.

M. D.Great place to stay, very clean and tidy. All staff were friendly. And the food was very good. The bar is open 24 hour's a day with plenty of choice of alcohol, hot drinks and soft drinks. Kids eat free on Sunday.

There is a bar that was open until late, but unfortunately frequented by some younger locals who seemed compelled to cause a disturbance after proving they were unable to handle their drink. Fortunately the issue was dealt with professionally and swiftly by staff.
The place is clean, the rooms are nice, the staff are pleasant.
The location is unfortunate as it forms part of an island in a one way system that carries a high volume of traffic, particularly during the day.
As a consequence there are no parking facilities, apart from on-street and out of sight.
There is considerable traffic noise if like me you like a window open at night.
Z. A.This is a great new hotel and grill/bar. The rooms are modern and clean. Extremely comfortable bed and aircon to help sleep at the correct temperature. Although the rooms are of average size and the bathrooms small (but not tiny) the layout is good and enough room to get around easily. A lift for easy access with baggage and a small car park, first come first serve basis. I stayed 2 nights arrived around 7pm and the staff moved a staffs car to allow me to park.
The food is great, freshly made in the open to view kitchen and plenty to choose from. Breakfast is also very nice I had the Spanish omelette and an awesome coffee (costa eat ya heart out).
The staff are friendly and fully helpful to get you what you need. I would recommend this hotel to all if you need to stay in the area, ill be back again soon without a doubt Ill probably become a regular guest here when im working in the area.
If i could i would give 10 stars. Prices are reasonable at £75/night with £15/parking per night which I think is reasonable since you are safe in the knowledge that the gates are locked at 10pm and your car is secure.
C. T.This was our home in the 70's, our parents were the landlords, so when we saw it was now a hotel again, we couldn't resist booking in. Very disappointing, the frontage is the only thing they kept. Generic hotel, all Victorian details have gone, rooms were actually very chilly, despite it being July and very warm out. Couldn't get anything to eat there at the time, but were told they were building a restaurant soon. Won't go back, we knew how far it is from the tube, so we were prepared, but with nothing else to recommend it there seems no reason to.

Thanks job, we are every weekend in hotel.That hotel was big disappointing.We got room without daylight after complaint we got new, like upgrade free. What? Window is upgrade? We saw something like that in HongKong, but there was mention about it.
We tried to switch off air conditioning, but unsuccessfully.
Carpet was super dusty and I had a cough in the morning.
Bottle of water was part of mini bar, not free in 3 stars hotel? Furniture was ordinary. Definitely never ever.
M. P.A great value for money hotel, very well appointed. The rooms have up to date TV, WiFi and aircon. Fixtures and fittings are quality, and the decor is tasteful. I did find a couple of hairs and bobbles of brown fluff in the bed, but it looked clean and laundered so I assumed it was transferred from cleaners, and didnt complain. The Staff are friendly. They made a mistake on check-in and charged me locally when I had already paid through booking agent (I didn't realise the booking agent had took payment); this was rectified immediately and professionally. I was a bit put out that they asked for a £50 deposit which if paid by card they do not refund for 7 to 10 days? It only takes 48hrs for a refund to show, so I assume they hang on to the money. I paid cash to get round this, but had to ask for receipt. You also have to show ID, which is ok by me. There is practically no parking on site, and alot of the surrounding streets are residents only - had a fair walk. The immediate area is poor with regards to eating and drinking, and a bit 'rough'. The hotel does have it's own bar and restaurant at which you get 10% discount (although they add a 10% service charge to the bill!). The restaurant is fairly priced, the food good, staff friendly and service good. I would stay again, and for what they charge - you get a good deal.
L. C.Living in the local area we just went for some dinner. The menu has a Turkish twist to it so not usual ‘pub food’ but this is what makes it so special. The food came out fast and was so delicious. All the staff were great but our waiter was particularly brilliant, more than happy to explain the things on the menu we hadn’t heard of before. Booked at the last minute for 3 nights, as a wheelchair user I phoned the hotel directly to make sure a wheelchair accessible room was available and that the hotels access met my personal requirements. The room was excellent, everything you needed and more, including a fridge, WiFi, freeview and it was all accessible from my chair. The whole hotel was so clean with great upto date decor and staff were so friendly, helpful, professional, accommodating and went out of their way for me making sure that any extra needs I had were met and more. The bed was so comfortable and although i was in a ground floor level room next to a road you couldn't hear a thing from outside, that along with the brilliant blind and curtain combination sleeping was a dream. Although a little way out of central London, the central line can be caught at the underground a 4 min walk away or there are plenty of buses. On the whole the hotel surprised me so much with how good it was, decor, cleanliness, staff, atmosphere, amenities. I cannot fault it and would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family, it really is a gem of a hotel and much more than you expect. I also must say a huge thank you to the staff for looking after me so well - thank you all for being so caring and helpful.

E. C. (.After a weekend in London we were just heading back to Yorkshire when the car started making a horrendous noise. We headed to the Luckily the traffic was very slow moving – the only time I have been grateful for heavy traffic. We looked up the nearest A&E (i.e. KwikFit) for emergency treatment. One of the staff there sized us up and recommended The Lion & Key for breakfast while they fixed the car.
Best breakfast I had in London all weekend. Robin had the Full English and I had The Turk, which I absolutely loved. Giant portions (so that took care of lunch as well). Lovely staff, beautifully cooked food, fair pricing and very comfortable surroundings.
J. V.The staff was very nice and professional. The location of the hotel leaves a bit to be desired, however, especially if you are a light sleeper. Street noise can keep you up at night, traffic noise can wake you up in the morning. My room also seemed a bit in disrepair. The slot where you place the room key was loose, every wall fixture in the bathroom was loose, and one of the lamps was barely holding on. The wifi network would also disappear from time to time, but as every room has its own SSID, it may have been due to interference.

T. C.Very comfortable and modern place to stay. The bus runs right by the hotel, perfect for getting to the Leyton Tube station. Only a 10 minute walk to ASDA. The only thing that would be a problem for some people is that its in a largely Muslim/Arab populated area, but it was great for us!

The Room is very high quality and has a Samsung Smart TV that's easy to use, the room looks and feels incredibly clean. The Bed is a double-Bed, even though i booked for only me, so i had it all for myself. Only other negative point is the small sink in the bathroom.

D. S.I stayed here for my first week in the UK since I recently moved from the US. My experience couldnt have been better.
When you pay around 50 pounds a night you really dont expect the hotel to be the best in the world but this one is better than some 5 starts I've stayed.
Lets start with the area: it couldnt be better. Tesco Express within 5 min walking, bus station within 1 min (literally) and underground within 10 minutes. All walking distances. Lots of pubs and great restaurants around too so you really dont need a vehicle.
The service was helpful and nice from the very first time I got to the hotel. All my chargers had a US plug so I went to reception and asked where could I buy a UK adaptor. They gave me one.
Room is extremely nice and spotless, absolutely perfect. Each room has its own wifi network so is really fast. Also, Smart TVs where you can watch over 300 channels and connect to the internet. Tea, coffee and cookies (delicious, btw). The bathroom was perfect and the shower super nice.
Definitely this is the place to stay. Perfect location, amenities and service.

C. G.I was there last year and have reviewed this place on TripAdvisor and Expedia. I did have a broken elevator (lift) during that time, but I was on the second floor so no big deal for me. For the price, this place EXCEEDS value. You get a Smart TV, Free and FAST WiFi, as well as being accessible to the Tube, Overground train and Bus! Not to mention I Ubered like it was no tomorrow (cheaper than the Black Cab, though I highly recommend doing the Black Cab at least once...it is an experience in and of itself.) Oh, and if you're an American, like me, you will appreciate having your own bathroom in a London hotel ("en-suite bathrooms", apparently is a luxury...paying $450 a night in the West End to share a bathroom with complete strangers is not my idea of fun or luxury...)
About the neighborhood itself...keep in mind this is East London. The people there are super friendly. However, this isn't a posh, tony, chic, etc, neighborhood by any stretch...but at the same time, you will not be robbed, mugged, murdered, etc, either...it is very safe. You are only going to be in your room to s*t, shower, shave, sleep, and plan. You will also be very comfortable doing it. If you are a tourist and you know you will be travelling via the public transportation and you don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a hotel, then this is the hotel for you! Can't beat the price...just can't!
V. B.The hotel is brand new. It has bus stops close to it and is 15 min (quiet) walk from Leyton, Central line station that can brings you directly in the city center. Rooms are large and clean, with modern forniture. I highly recommend this hotel.

Towels and toiletries were changed every day, while sheets were never changed. In the closet there was a safe and a hairdryer. The USB socket was also present in the wall sockets above the bedside tables.
