Reviews of Mandalay Picton House Hotel
Small room and very small bathroom but clean and had hot water so it was good for the price of 59 pounds for two people
The location is good (next to underground station) and the hotel is not expensive. The breakfast is perfect (eggs and bacon). The bedroom and the bathroom are quite small but comfortable.
We needed a place to stay for a night and we saw that the hotel was close to paddington and affordable. Booking and reception was easy. Wifi was great and breakfast filling. Dwight was a great host.
We stayed at Mandalay Picton House Hotel from the 23rd November until the 4th December. It was my 3rd stay with Dwight as the owner. Our experience was most enjoyable and the friendliness of Dwight, Farzana & Akkie was most appreciated.
The hosts are really nice and it's close to Paddington! I recommend it :)
Very friendly place. Clean and good breakfast
The staff was friendly and we had no problems with the service.
Small but cosy.... Close of everything. Top
Good place, central location
An excellent welcome, pleasant hosts, and comfortable beds. The bathroom is a bit small, but you can wash in it without any problems. The hotel is also very well located, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast, although basic, is very good.
Thank you for this warm welcome and a wonderful stay!
(Translated) Cheap hotel. Very small rooms. Bathrooms even worse. Almost non-existent common areas. Clean just enough. Essential breakfast. Central and convenient location by transport. The Burmese family that runs it is very kind and helpful. Only suitable for low budgets

Hotel economico. Camere piccolissime. Bagni anche peggio. Locali comuni quasi inesistenti. Pulizia appena sufficiente. Colazione essenziale. Posizione centrale e comoda con i mezzi. La famiglia di origine birmana che lo gestisce è molto gentile e disponibile. Adatto solo per budget bassi
Good basic hotel. Rooms are clean and basic, proprietor is lovely and friendly. Nothing fancy but very good for the price. Fantastic location, very good window curtains to keep out the light. A bit of noise from the street but quieter than expected for the location.
The hotel's location is quite good. The subway is right nearby, and everything is easily accessible. However, the rooms are very small and old, which is a bit annoying. However, I think it's acceptable for the price, especially if you're out and about all day. The staff is very friendly. A huge plus!
Budget hotel. Very small rooms. Bathrooms even worse. Common areas almost non-existent. Barely adequate cleaning. Basic breakfast. Central location and convenient for transportation. The Burmese family that runs it is very kind and helpful. Only suitable for low budgets
The people who work there are extremely kind, they will open the door for you even at 1:30-2:00 in the morning and the hotel is cute. In addition, it is very well located in relation to places of visit: PADDINGTON (the district) > BAKER STREET (where there is Madame Tussaud or the Sherlock HOLMES museum for example) can be done in less than 1 hour on foot which will save you the metro because EVERYTHING is expensive in London but the metro is really expensive after all. Negative: Room 9 is to be avoided AND the breakfast is not tiptop if you thought you would have croissants or a range of jams 😔. It's more of a savory breakfast: fried eggs / knackis / sausages... There are only 6 slices of bread that will be toasted for you and 2 small pots with strawberry jam in one and marmalade in the other and butter on 1 plate. I still recommend this hotel for the people who work there AND for the location as well as the price in relation to the location precisely.
Hotel with very small but cozy rooms, very narrow bathroom and interiors a bit in need of modernization. For the rest the staff is really kind and easy-going and really helpful. The rooms are clean!
Very basic hotel, enough for sleeping and little else. Warm rooms and comfortable mattresses. It needs more maintenance as many details are broken or in poor condition. The breakfast is very basic but acceptable for a couple of days, as after the third day it becomes very monotonous as there is hardly anything to choose from. Located next to Hyde Park with good connections to the city center. 5 minutes from Paddington tube station. There are restaurants, burger bars, and supermarkets in the area.
Definitely good for the price. It is close to Paddington - which gives easy access to train connections and several lines on the tube. Lancaster Gate station on the Central Line is also within a few minutes walk of the hotel.
In this price range you have to expect a basic standard. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is not outstanding, but far better than many other small hotels in London.
Small but clean rooms, good prices, and the friendliness of everyone who works there is worth mentioning. The area is very well connected, with buses and the metro nearby. I would definitely return.
The Wi-Fi is very weak, but it's a good hotel. The breakfast is a typical English breakfast, which makes you feel luxurious. Everything else is reasonable for the price.
The service is excellent, they are hospitable and very friendly. Our only annoyance was the bathroom which was very small, made of fiberglass like an airplane bathroom.
For a 2 star hotel it is excellent and also in a good location where there are all nearby hotels plus breakfast included 👍
Location close to Paddington and Hyde Park is perfect. The staff was also very kind. The room had an OK size, but the bed was a 1,40 and not a double bed. The windows were paper-thin and we could also hear our neighbour's every move. The room was clean enough and the bathroom was very small. I'd say in comparison to general London standard, this place is good value for money if you are staying a few days.
Strategic location, decent breakfast, small rooms, bathroom without window, very helpful and kind staff.
Picturesque hotel, nothing modern, but cheap and with good duel vibes, very familiar, but don't expect luxury!
Well located hotel with friendly service. Always concerned with serving us well.
One of the areas with a high concentration of hotels
A good hotel in Paddington
(Translated) I loved !

Me encanto !
Good location close to tube station, park, and plenty of bars and restaurants.
Very dated room and bed. Floors creak with every step and walls are very thin, so I didn't get much sleep due to noise from the neighbors and the guests walking around upstairs at 5am. If you're a heavy sleeper you'll probably do fine here, but if you're a light sleeper I would not recommend staying here.
Budget is definitely the word for this hotel. Room cost around £60 and pretty much got what we paid for. The room was small but the beds were pretty comfy. The toilet/shower room was tight and not much room to manover. It also flooded everytime we showered.
Located close to the tube station and a short walk from cheap parking and local tourist attractions
All in all, its good for a one or two night stay and would stay again
Best Deal one could find.
The rooms were small but clean, service was excellent. Staff could not have been better.
It is a basic Hotel, but if that's what you're looking for then, it's perfect.
It's close to Paddington Station which is a bonus.
Being a small business they work even harder to obtain customer satisfaction. No wonder they won some customer satisfaction awards during the past few years.
Would definitely be considering I had to go London again.
It´s a 2 Star Hotel, so if you like to have a minibar, a concierge or any other modern 4-5 Star things-you´re wrong here. But if you are going on a short city trip- then this is the place to stay for you! The rooms are small but clean, so are the beds- and the sheets were changed every day! The breakfast is english, and the breakfast room is very nice. The Hotel has a 24 hr reception, you give your key when you leave and just ring the bell if you want back in. Sussex Gardens is only around the corner to paddington station, there are restaurants amass and little shops, just perfect. I´d recommend it!
This is very much a budget hotel. The location is fantastic, the staff were very polite. However my room was accessed by what felt like a fire escape, rather than being contained in the hotel like the rest of the rooms. There was also a bedsheet pinned to the ceiling covering some sort of large skylight. For the price, don't expect anything more than a clean bed and you'll be happy.
How you see this place really depends on what you need. As far as amenities, it's terrible. The bed is small and uncomfortable, the bathroom is poorly designed, and we didn't receive any shampoo or conditioner, just soap. On the other hand, the staff/owners are nice, the breakfast is adequate, the location is great (Close to Paddington station), and it's inexpensive for London. Your choice.
Exactly what I needed: a cheap, clean, secure hotel with breakfast in a great location. Tiny bathroom, but everything worked just fine and the owners were really lovely people. I would definitely stay there again.
