Reviews of Marriott Executive Apartments London, Canary Wharf

After working tirelessly through the pandemic, myself and a few colleagues decided we needed a well deserved break. We were recommended the Marriott Canary Wharf by another colleague of ours and I can honestly say the Marriott did not disappoint.
Fanny was my point of contact who was friendly and helpful and worked tremendously hard to ensure all our rooms were booked and was always on call to answer any queries I had.
Martha and a lovely gentlemen checked us in and the customer service was outstanding from the moment we stepped through the door to the moment we left. They were very accommodating and informative ensuring we had all the necessary information for our stay.
The security and bar staff were also very welcoming and helpful.
The Marriott is now our go to Hotel, thank you to all the staff for making our stay so pleasant.
Many Thanks
Corina

Excellent hotel and facilities. Parking payable nearby. Great staff. Really big room, lovely and clean and overlooked the docks area. Exec lounge very good. Staff more than helpful with replenishing snacks and drinks. Perfect.

Great hotel. Really nicely done out. Very clean and modern. Bar is great and has a nice atmosphere, although it's hotel prices, as you would expect. Only negatives were that you could hear the DLR and the beds aren't very comfortable, although they wouldn't put me off booking again

Truly a perfect example of the Marriott standards for a physical room, lounge, and location -- but what really stood out at this property was the staff.
Kai, who checked me in after a long overnight flight, was positively enthusiastic about it being my first visit, making me feel so welcome. I kept the sheet of information she wrote out for my entire visit, with opening times and resources to use. Not only did she make me feel like I was the only guest, but I saw her many times throughout my stay clearly walking around to resolve problems and make stays more comfortable for all the guests. I don't know if she's the most senior staff person, but if not, she deserves a promotion.
In the executive lounge, Lara & the other staff were so kind, ensuring I didn't miss the food before it was closed, ensuring I had enough for the evening before they closed the coffee station. I don't know where the Canary Wharf property has found these folks, but they are superb. Exactly what I'd describe as the ideal experience in a lounge -- and not something I'd experienced since pre-pandemic.
Even at breakfast, the staff working made sure I had my pick of a table, and even fetched the chef just in case I wanted an omelet or something else like waffles or pancakes. Between the catering and the staff, the last time I experienced such great hospitality was in Malaysia years ago at a Marriott property.
When the staff here say "Welcome Back," they mean it. I'd happily commute an extra hour each way every day for Kai, Lara, and *all* the other staff whose names I missed that made this a great stay. Highly recommend this property. This is why I come back to Marriott.

PROS:
Nice hotel for staying while on a business trip.
- the wait staff are very generous and accommodating.
- hotel rooms are large with lots of light and a nice view of Canary Wharf.
- the executive lounge is accessible to guests which offers 24/7 drinks, snacks, and sometimes hot food or desserts. Great place to hang out for a drink and enjoy the view.
- the hotel was very clean and comfortable.
- the gym facility was small but had a good amount of equipment that should be more than enough to exercise during your stay.
- the breakfast was very nice, with a full english breakfast offered every day along with an omelette station. Additionally they offer baked goods and continental breakfast.
CONS:
- the bathroom looks a bit outdated
- housekeeping did not always clean the room to the highest standard
- room service was not available later into the evening
Overall, a very enjoyable experience and I would return to in the future.

Good location for visiting canary wharf for business, clean and attentive staff. The rooms are good size and as always Marriott beds are the best. Stayed here many times and never been let down by the quality and service.

The Marriott at Canary Wharf is a business hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms are good too. The location is perfect for anyone that has work in Canary Wharf. For tourists, while it may seem a bit outside the city centre, the convenient DLR station adjacent to the hotel makes it a breeze to get into the Centre. You can also take a short walk to the Jubilee line from Canary Wharf to go towards the Centre. There are plenty of restaurants (both high street chains and top end) to choose from at Canary Wharf. There are many pubs and bars close to the hotel as well. The hotel is very convenient for anyone flying in and out of London City Airport, definitely the best airport in London.
The Executive Lounge located on the 7th floor is a comfortable space to work and unwind as well. Friendly staff, wine and beer in the evenings with 2 hot food options, it is a well run space. Breakfast was never busy when we stayed and had a good spread. The chef was happy to make eggs on order too.

I had my birthday breakfast at Marriott Canary Wharf on the 8th February 2022, the food was good but the service was excellent. Andrea went above duty to ensure I felt special on my birthday. All the staff were excellent and did their job with the highest professionalism and care.
When you visit for breakfast, do ask for Andrea, she will make you feel extra special.

We Marriott Bonvoy members and it’s always a pleasure to stay with Marriott. We have stayed here thrice in last 6 months. We really enjoy it. Easy check in. Polite staff. Large room facing the river. We will stay here again it’s among our top picks in London to stay when traveling.

We have been staying here as we do every year. We come back back because we love the accessible location for family and room sizes. This time in particular I would like to add the service and hospitality from staff has gone above and beyond. Very impressed and highly recommend!

Had a great stay here. The staff were super helpful and made me feel comfortable and at ease. The food was lovely. The room was big loads of room for activities and clean, the bed was super comfy. The location was great and my room looked out onto the river. Felt so safe. I'd definitely look at staying again and recommend it to others.

Definitely not up to Marriott standards.
The apartments are a completely different brand than the Marriott hotel on the lower floors, as a result many of the things you would expect, you do not get in the higher priced apartments. Want to order room service from your phone... NOPE! Try to call room service from the 1990's phone on the desk doesn't work either. Okay so, let's cook our own meal we are in an Apartment with a cooker right? Only ONE pan, a large deep stock pot. The oven is very, very clean! Probably has never been used. I complained about this and got a mid-sized brand new non-stick fry pan.
Wall paper is peeling off the walls, television has ~20 channels and no High Definition or program guide. I feel like I have been transported back into the age of pay per view hotel movies. The air conditioner in the bed room (there are two, one for the main room and one for the bedroom) has a very loose belt, screams like a small child in pain. Make sure you turn that off at night if you like sleep. Oh and did anyone at Marriott mention that there is a train line directly beneath the hotel? This is GREAT for getting around London, not so great for sleep. And that fact, my dear reader is the ONLY reason I would stay here again!
Oh and one more note for long term visitors, there are three laundry rooms in the apartment section. With one washer and dryer each. The staff use them to clean all the rags they use to clean the hotel and rooms with so the machines are always stuffed to the gills with rags. And two of the dryers are broke as of this writing. Laundry service is available at a painfully high price.
Beware of websites with limited pictures, the other angles may not be as attractive!

For a five star hotel I expected better. Parking location isn’t great & the food wasn’t great either. The gym is decent and is open 24/7 but it’s very limited.
The actually hotel room was really nice. The room was really clean and bed was comfortable. I was a little disappointed with the bathroom.
Been to much better Marriott hotels

I booked a quayside room for my husband and I as we had a show at the O2. The reception on checking in was warm and friendly and that was quickly dampened by the fact the external windows of our room were extremely dirty. This unfortunately …

The people working here are amazing. Makes it feel like a true high end London flat. Great food, great apartment, great people. 10 more days here and wish I would have stayed the other 15 days here rather than the regular hotels.

Fantastic service and great price. I was disappointed at first that we paid for the executive lounge upgrade and the lounge was closed. However, the staff set up an alternative site. Food was limited but very good. So impressed with the food they did have. Even breakfast was much better than standard Marriott breakfasts. Miguel from the G&tea bar was so kind and accommodating to all visitors. When they cleared up the food for the night he made sure to check if we wanted anything and brought it out to us.

It was a disappointment not to be able to get a drink after 11 at the bar even though we were resident. Despite this the rooms, food and staff were superb. A lovely touch was champagne and fruit in the room, compliments of the hotel for my husband's birthday.

The hotel and staff were amazing and made my friends birthday weekend extra special with little touches in our rooms. The rooms were spotless and breakfast was well stocked and a great choice. I have already recommended the hotel and will definitely book again. Thank you

Beautiful view, quiet room and comfy bed! Bathroom shower a little grubby and because I wanted to settle in for the night early, I could have done with a robe. You would expect this from a 5* hotel but there wasn’t one. Also no tea spoons for tea and coffee facility. You would also expect this from a 5* room.

From the foyer to our room, there was a lot of space in this hotel, which I found surprising, for London. Our room was warm, large and had a view over the water outside ans some of the buildings of Canary Wharf. Outside the hotel are pubs and restaurants and the DLR is a couple of hundred yards away.

This was my 2nd stay in a couple of weeks. The service & staff were as good as my 1st experience. Very good location and large car park opposite (need to pay). Rooms are of a good size with comfortable bed and great shower. Good selection of food in bar & room service.

Amazing experience. Reception and all staff were very friendly!
Myself and my partner stayed 1st-3rd July 2021 for her 30th Birthday and our 4 month old daughter came too. Very attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Reception being polite and friendly making sure we had everything we needed for our stay from the moment we arrived, giving directions, making sure we had water and our daughter was OK on trips out in the warm weather .We also received a wonderful message from the Senior Guest Relations Manager during our stay.
Even before the stay communication with the Guest Relations Team via email was brilliant.
Spacious and clean rooms, no noise disturbance, comfortable beds and good room temperature control facilities.
Highly recommended and hopefully we will also be back soon ourselves!

Best breakfast among other Marriott I've been in London.
Room is also bigger and nice view by the water.
Need more attention in cleaning lifts and public spaces.

Choosing Canary Wharf for a short city break in London is ideal. Great transport links, things to see and so in the area and the hotel itself is offers so much. The staff always try and make your stay as pleasant as possible and the facilities will make you feel relaxed and pampered.

The hotel, room and staff were outstanding in every sense of the word. The bartender introduced us to drinks that were both unique and surprising.
The hotel was a short walk from the Jubilee Tube stop which provided us access to every area of London and The City of London we wanted to explore.

The stay was satisfactory. I do not understand why I had to pay £50 deposit on each room at booking in, when I had paid the full amount for the rooms; for a short break this dented a limited budget. The price of breakfast is extortionate, …

I have been staying for two weeks in the apartment on the 10th floor and I am not disappointed at all about this place. The staff is friendly and helpful and close to the reception there is a coffee machine to have a good start of the day. If you arrive from London City airport the tact will take you here in 15 minutes. Close to the hotel there are many restaurants and bar for a good night out. The gym on the ground floor offers all the equipment you need for a decent workout. The breakfast is only served from 07:00 in the morning, what is a bit of a disappointment, because I think it's too late. The room itself is very spacious, clean and offers all the equipment you need. Toiletries in the badroom, kitchen equipment in the kitchen, pots, pans, coffee maker, kettle, toaster and the cutlery. The furniture is comfortable and the television offers some basic television programs. Cleaning is done twice a week.
S.
We arrived at 5.30pm and had to depart by 5.45pm for our evening engagements. The next day we had to depart for a wedding on the other side of London.
The hotel is clean and well presented but cannot comment on anything else because of our very limited stay. The staff were courteus and efficient.

Lovely stay, very friendly staff, especially the young girl on the front desk whose name began with M (apologies I can’t remember). Plus we had Prosecco, brownies and fruit in our rooms for my friends 50th which was a lovely touch.

One of my favorite hotels, mainly because of the excellent staff. Unfortunately, some are no longer there due to pandemic cutbacks. Some curtailed hours in restaurants due to labor shortages. Club is back and very nice.

A great hotel for access to Canary Wharf and all it has to offer.
Good size rooms, very clean and all the facilities. All you'd expect from Marriott.
R. A.
The location was great. It was a hop and skip from the DLR station and also really close the canary wharf shops.
The staff were outstanding, they were all really warm and pleasant.
Two of the front desk staff Anta and Elvis made the stay extremely lovely. Anta went out of her way to get a robe when I asked for one.
Elvis was extremely polite and patiently answered all questions I had.
Based on the interaction with those 2 persons, I'd definitely stay again.
J.
Our stay at the Marriott was so lovely, the staff were extremely accommodating and had made it extra special for my partner's birthday. They had given us a water view room and also gifted 2 mini champagnes and scattered the bed in rose petals - the extra detail makes such a difference! Will definitely be returning.
M.
All staff where amazing with the exception of the breakfast staff. The manager needed to be careful the way he speaks to young staff in front of customers as it was a aggressive style whilst walking round with his mobile phone sticking out of his back pocket.
J.

We recently spent the weekend here to celebrate our daughters 18th, we couldn't have asked for more! Great location, friendly staff, kind birthday gesture left for my daughter, overall brilliant!

A really great Marriott team in a modern property, which is well run throughout. A great choice for elite status and executive lounge offering is very good. Breakfast is good and the staff are the best part giving genuine recognition of loyalty status!

Stayed here for 5 nights and loved the hotel, its location in Canary Wharf and most of all our accommodation in a corner suite. All staff were so nice and friendly and welcoming - particularly Miguel, Ricardo, Felix and the boys in the G & T Lounge.
A.
I’m not normally one to leave reviews but it needs to be said how accommodating everyone at this Marriott was during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and service was always with a smile! Especially Elvis on the front desk who was so helpful and friendly.
B.
We had a good stay in spacious and clean rooms. The bar produced great cocktails and the staff were friendly and efficient. I’d urge customers not to take the breakfast and look elsewhere.

Cannot fault the staff, size, cleanliness and overall comfort of room (2nd floor deluxe double overlooking dock). Quiet and great location
Pleasant bar area....tasty bar food. …
J. C.
Great place to visit if your just looking for drinks and bar snacks. They've always provided table service so you don't have to keep visiting the bar. Staff are friendly and polite and will try and accommodate all requests. The seating is comfortable, with plenty of cushions and tv screens on three walls to view sport on.
You really cannot go wrong if you are looking for a place to catch up with friends without having to shout over loud music.
