The staff was really kind and amazingly helpful, the room was just as advertised. It was perfect for sleeping there, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was sufficient and the shared toilet was always available and very clean and tidy. The ventilation of the room was amazing considering it only had one window.
I really enjoyed the breakfast, it was tasty and filling. The location is amazing, transportation options are many, the district is pretty relaxing with lots of shops, diners, bars nearby - but not too close, so it was very silent at night.
I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a place to stay for a couple of days.

We had a great time here, got everything we paid for and more. We stayed here for 8 nights, we weren't supposed to have breakfast here, but due to the number of nights, we got continental breakfast for free.
We had room 24, with toilet facilities and shower.
The kitchen staff and all the staff in the hotel was extremely nice. I want to thank Mrs. Carmen for the warm milk and delicious English breakfast!
We ordered English breakfast for 2 days, it was 4 £ each. It was worth it!
I ordered a parcel by post, the receptionist brought it to my door when it arrived.
We were a little cold during the night, when the heating was turned off, so we asked for a small radiator.
We borrowed a hair dryer and an iron from the reception.
The room has tea and coffee facilities, a TV set.
The hotel is not 20 minutes from centre London, it is 2 minutes away from the bus stop. By bus 43 you get to London Bridge in 80 minutes, if you get off at Highgate underground station, you get to zone 1 in about 30-40 minutes.
It was well worth the money to stay in the National Hotel! I highly recommend it!

The people are so kind, cannot do enough for you, the room although basic was very clean and super comfortable. The food is very good. This hotel is unbeatable value for money. I have stayed in the National hotel numerous times now and would not stay anywhere else while working in London, love it. I have stayed in hotels all over the world as a musician and have not left reviews but this hotel is exceptional. 5 stars from me

The location was perfect for us because we went to an event at Alexander Palace which was a 10 minute walk away! Lots of shops and places to eat. The room was an en-suite room and it was nice but very basic. We didn't get toothpaste and only got 2 little shower gels that would definitely not be enough.. Breakfast is served at 7am while 9am which is included in this room so was good value all in all.

Clean, tidy, continental brekky included, tea & coffee in bedrooms, fresh white linens. Very friendly and helpful staff, free parking, 3 mins walk from shops and food. Everything you could possibly want and more especially for the price!
I stayed on my own and felt perfectly comfortable here even though my personal booking was for shared bathroom- i had absolutely no problem with this and it was very clean and close to the room. I did have a lovely sky light but no blind so bring an eye mask if you are a light sleeper. Again, i had no problem with this as could see the moon in bed and woke up to natural light. Lovely hotel all round and would definately stay again! Off to Ally Pally I go which im told is only 10 mins away walking. Definately reccomend!

This is the ultimate budget hotel in London. Rarely pay more that £45 a night. Friendly staff. Light breakfast included in price, full English available as an extra. Free carpark although limited space for vans or minibuses. Sure the hotel is a little shabby - what do expect for such a budget price in one of London's nicest neighbourhoods?

A nice hotel to stay in the rooms are. Modest and comfy. The breakfast is freshly cooked upon request and a nice sizable amount.
What let's it down is the lack of on or off site parking and the fact that not all rooms are en suite, some have a shower and that's about it.
Overall a pleasant stay with plenty within walking distance.

The place is homely staff are trained, very helpful and supportive. Beds are very comfortable. Bedding clean and ensuite was hygienic with all accessories. However the TV was tricky when going to stand by mode as it' was not in English . Maybe it was the last occupants who left it on that setting. Above all we had a peaceful night and even overslept due to comfort 👍

It's cheap but cheerful in a hotel, rooms are very basic but comfortable clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My window got stuck and one of the staff came up himself to unstick it saying it was no problem. Breakfast is good as is WiFi. Room shower was my only issue as it was incredibly weak. Overall a good value stay in London.

Booked in for tattoo convention at Ally Pally, for the price compared to other B&Bs and hotels in the area and that weekend we were expecting a dive! It was the total opposite, the owner (behind the counter 24/7) couldn't do enough to help, the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable! What more could we ask for!

Really welcoming and close to Alexandra Palace. 20 mins to the nearest tube station, and 10 mins walk to the palace.
It is a shared bathroom, but we were offered an upgrade for £15 a night, which included an ensuite (we stayed 2 days and what's an extra £30?)
It's not the Ritz, but is in a very nice area and has a room with a bed, kettle, wardrobe and somewhere to shower. It's literally all you need from a hotel, and at £70 a night in a lovely area of London, it's a bargin!
Staff were very helpful (let me borrow a hair dryer) and smiley. Would definitely stay here again.

Good location although limited parking and no tube station near by. Rooms spacious and clean. Common areas well looked after. Friendly staff. Was a little noisy in the night but great value for money.

If you are on a budget and looking for somewhere to stay for a gig at Alexandra palace then this is the place to stay. A beautiful 10 minute walk to the venue. The accommodation is basic but clean and includes continental breakfast (you can pay £4 for full English, which we did but was not that impressed with it) the staff are friendly and free parking in the back. Would definitely stay again.

Stop over for the concert at Alexandra palace had a room with a bathroom. Basic but clean and comfortable. Only criticism is the towel rack by the toilet it's a hazard as the bathroom is too small, whacked my face on it when I flushed the loo.
S. P.
Comfortable basic accommodation. Sink and shower don't drain properly, beds comfortable walls are paper thin as I could hear the whole conversation the people in the room next to me were having
C. J.
15 min walk to Alexandra Palace, would very much recommend for that. Parking was very tight but fine. Hotel was basic but good value for London and room was larger that others in same price bracket.
S. B.
Bed very comfy and clean good size shared shower good and hot toilet clean. Budget hotel with very freindly staff excellent breakfast. Recommend for working away
R. M.
Decent enough place to stay for an overnight after a gig at Ally Pally. Clean, well presented rooms. Decent value for money

Good for our intended usage and for the price, but no secure bike storage area. There was mould on the ceiling in the bathroom and the beds weren't very comfortable.

Honestly we’d read the reviews and were not looking forward to staying here, but the family room was large, neat and clean with cupboards, comfortable crisp looking beds (double and two singles and they put a cot in for us), bathroom with separate shower and bath, staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast room large and clean with friendly staff, we were very pleasantly surprised and very comfortable here for a couple of nights with two small children while the movers and cleaners cleared out our flat nearby.

It needs a update but it's a great location for Alexandre Palace with free parking and a full English in the morning make sure you get ensuite unless you don't mind wandering round the corridors at night looking for a empty loo!!

Spacious room, but double bed very hilly and a bit broken. Loud random fan noises. Fine for a night
