Hotel is beautiful. Absolutely spotless and the service is very efficient and kind. If you have any problems AT ALL, definitely do speak to staff and they will immediately be of help.
- The rooms are mostly immaculate and they will surely change your room if they are not.
- The food is to die for and the bar very lovely.
The only thing I’d suggest be better is the swimming pool. The changing rooms could have been cleaner and there were much too many people in the pool. They need to limit the amount of people more so. - The best thing to do I imagine is allocate times for families vs adult hours.

As we were travelling with kids, the pool was a hit.
The breakfast was great - even though the kids got very disappointed the last couple of days, as there was no mix for the Pancake machine. I think you could …

We were blown away by the excellent staff, the service and the hotel itself. The team went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable and they really looked after my family amazingly well. The suite we had was just perfect with wonderful views over London and we made full use of the swimming pool and sauna which were modern and super clean like the rest of the hotel. We dined in the restaurant downstairs a few times which was fab. Breakfast was served here and had everything you need really. All in all we’d 100% come back for a city break here. The location was excellent, the road was clean and not too busy, with tube and overground at Blackfriars a short walk away. Thank you to all the staff for making our trip so memorable, especially Mina!

Was a good experience, clean and modern room. Hotel had a swimming pool (one of the reasons for booking it) but that could only be used if booked in advance, and only for one hour. Because of timing I didn't get to use it because of that which was a real disappointment. Other then that a good experience.

Didn't stay overnight but facilities for a conference are good and the ground floor bar is really nice with comfortable sofa areas and a in good range of beers. Loses one star as they need to get some 'builders' tea and not all that pretentious rubbish. Luckily I took my own teabags.

I've had the chance to stay here twice and both experiences have been positive. Staff are professional and courteous. The swimming pool, gym and sauna are highly satisfactory. The breakfast was good with a decent amount of options. I received a surprise upgrade upon arrival and was not disappointed at all! The view from the 13th floor was nothing short of amazing. Can't wait to stay here again.

From the minute we arrived to when we left all the staff we were really helpful and friendly. The room was fabulous. Food was great and a really great place to stay. Txs a mill. Will def be back 👏☘️👏

Terrific service from the moment we walked through the door through to the moment we left. The staff at this hotel are what make it a truly brilliant place to stay. We turned up quite early just expecting to be able to drop off our bags but not only was our room ready at 11am, we got an upgrade. Antonio at the front desk and his colleague made us feel very welcome and did everything in their power to ensure a brilliant stay. Highly recommended.

What a lovely hotel, wonderfully warm and friendly staff that genuinely helped us out and made us feel welcome. The room was delightful and comfortable, the view was as described and very good. We didn't venture down to the pool, however we did eat in the onsite restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was very good from a specific menu, with options for vegan and vegetarian. The breakfast was also plentiful and had a good selection. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Modern hotel with nice relatively spacious rooms. Very clean, but little expensive.
The fact that you have to go to reception to get access to the gym and pool facilities is annoying.
J. C.
Average hotel. Not terrible but not amazing.
Check in slow despite pre check in online.
Stayed 3 nights and did not get refill in water or tissues.
I am really struggling to figure out the value of Novotel vs their cheaper twin hotel Ibis…

Hotel has a fantastic location for the London Eye, Southbank & Southwark. Friendly staff at check-in. Very nice modern rooms, especially like they way they had made up the sofa bed for our 4YO. Some of the rooms have great views. Small pool a but cool made up for by the large Sauna !
Only disappointment was the Restuarant. Childs chicken nuggets and chips were incredibly salty,, so much so he could not eat it despite being very hungry. Manager offered 'anything' to make up thus a desert was ordered. My pasta was also very salty with poor quality beef mince (grizzly). They have scrapped happy hour so 2 mojitos, a bottle of lowest cost wine, 2 mains & a child's meal was just over £100. At reception next morning checking out discovered desert had not been complementary and has to wait 20mins to be taken off the bill.
Overall, great clean modern hotel, would stay again however would choose somewhere else for dinner.

A very nice hotel, we booked a balcony room & it didn't disappoint with view's of St Paul's Cathedral & The Shard.
A good harty breakfast & central location on a lovely street.
I wouldn't hesitate to return and as such would highly recommend 👌

Great location, amazing views on upper floors, great facilities and good choice of food including breakfast
P. N.
Only attended a meeting but found staff very keen to help, facilities in excellent order, and snacks provided were of very high standard. I particularly enjoyed the bacon and cheese bagel!
A. B.
Fab hotel. Great location. Comfy bed. Nice view of the shard
M. W.
Really nice hotel, beds could be more comfortable but everything clean. Breakfast is great, plenty of everything
D. P.
The whole Journey was excelent! Best Breakfast offer perfect taste and very friendly personal. We will come back for sure!!! Thanks for all
R. Y.
Great location, welcoming staff, clean hotel and fabulous breakfast. Thank you
J. S.
Friendly service from the front desk and the bar, the room we had was fantastic (an executive room with balcony) and we had a really good nights sleep. A star has been knocked off for one of the cups in the bedroom being chipped & one of the towels being stained - both were rectified immediately upon notifying reception.
M. W.
Basic yet very clean and friendly hotel. All the staff were attentive and professional. Good selection and excellent quality of food for breakfast. Great central area for exploring London. Would recommend.

Stayed in this hotel for 5 weeks. The place itself is pretty clean and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were limited but this was to be expected because of the coronavirus restrictions. The location is just great: tube stations, cafes nearby. Also it was pretty nice and quiet. Definitely recommend Novotel London Blackfriars for a nice stay in London.
G. M.
The room was clean and spacious.
At the reception, Alberto kindly greeted us, was very helpful and made sure our stay was pleasant. Thank you!
J.
Smart comfortable hotel in a great location. Not sure about the WhatsApp ordering for room service though.
J. I.
Great views. A bit of a mix up on checking but was swiftly dealt with and worked out for the best. Staff are great and location is perfect for central London. Not too far away and not too expensive if booked in advance.
C. R.
Great hotel. Very modern and clean. Good location and easy to find.
K. M.
This is great hotel to stay. The breakfast was great. The service was great. My teenager enjoyed the pool. The hotel is modern and beautiful. The bar and restaurant had great cocktails. It is a few steps from the Southwark station. It is in walking distance to the London Eye and London Tower. I would definately stay there again.
R. R.
Lovely hotel, with a decent enough spa/swimming pool. Great location too
A. H.
The hotel was in a good location, the staff were really friendly and wanting to help, the facility's were good, beds were comfy and the bathrooms were modern, the food was decent, wasn't keen on the scrambled egg but other than that had a good stay and would stay again
T. M.
Only here for the bar, to watch the football. The place seemed really nice, a lot nicer than the holiday in we stayed at which is round the corner. The staff where really nice too.
C. W.
The pool was nice and so were the rooms, we had a great stay 😊
M.
Due to the current shifting sands of circumstances. We had booked two stays consecutively. On arrival we were perfectly safe with a sanitiser station by the entrance staff were behind a screen. Check in staff were really friendly and very helpful. Current protocols were explained extremely clearly. We were given a room upgrade which is always nice. Our room was on the 11th floor with a nice view. Room extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean.
M. B.
Excellent restaurant and facilities
We go there often for work and we always satisfied
A. H.
Clean, easy and good breakfast. Uninspiring dinner menu, but great location
R. S.
Decent hotel and price. Pretty much next door to Southwark tube station so can get around so easily!

The view from our room was amazing
Quick check in
Pool was great …

Love the Novotel chain and Blackfriars was no exception. The staff were especially helpful and polite, which made our short stay special. The pool was excellent after a long days sight seeing. Our room had an amazing view of the Shard and was more than comfortable. The restaurant was new and jazzy but I feel there could have been a little more space on the menu for a bit more choice. However the staff were wonderful as always. I enjoyed the breakfast experience with lovely fresh fruit and was greeted with fantastic staff.
P. H.
A perfect family stay. Lovely clean room, friendly staff, amazing breakfast, no complaints at all.
J. K. P.
Fantastic hotel! Staff was super friendly and assisted with everything. Rooms were spotless with very good pillows and an excellent bed. Breakfast was also great, really a lot to choose from and the setting in the restaurant remains quite intimate. I absolutely will come back to this hotel for both business as well as private trips.
K. U.
Do you fancy ‘modern’ rooms? If yes, then Novotel London Blackfriars will not disappoint you. It doesn’t matter which room to book from the 182 choices. Everything is just close to perfection! You will get the good night rest you deserve.
M. A.
Great location near the tube. Nice view when you are above the 5th or 6th floor... the staff members are amazingly friendly.
Nice winter warm pool. Very good breakfast.
On the other end the restuarant should be avoided!
It's runing by amateurs. The banana split was regular banana with ice cream and cream. The capuchino - untouchable and so forthwith.... the waiter was so kind and just apologized and brought new one to fix the problem but it wasn't better. 10x for the try
R. B.
My wife and I stayed at the Novotel, we had a decent size room for two nights. It was clean, comfortable and modern.
Breakfast was good, we never ate in the restaurant.
All the staff were friendly and helpful, it was a relaxed environment and we really enjoyed our stay - super comfortable beds!
I used he pool, which is fairly small but fine if you just want to cool off and the have a sauna to warm up again!
C. m.
The Location was fantastic, right next to Southwark Tube station.
The room was nice and best of all for us it had 2 beds for our kids, the beds were comfy, the rooms were quiet.
The pool was nice - however be warned there are not many lockers.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The only negative we really had was the food In The bar, the menu was limited and the food was very bland, it's a shame as the vibe and decor were great - it just needed something more, some spice, some kick maybe some nibbles, Chicken wings or Sharing platters.
The breakfast however was good and no one had any complaints there.
A. C.
We loved our time at the hotel, the staff were especially wonderful. It was our daughter's 10th birthday and we were delighted when we found balloons and a birthday card waiting for her in our room! It's touches like that that make a stay truly memorable.
The location is brilliant with loads of restaurants and places to visit, the hotel bar is also a great place to chill out after a busy day!
Breakfast was perfect, loads to choose from and again the staff were first rate.
We would definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone planning a trip to London!

Nice stay and clean. About 10 minutes
walk to many attractions including BFI, Tate Modern and many places on the River and Waterloo. Many places to eat are close by including Nandos, a fantastic local coffee shop called Panda Cup coffee, near Southwark station and bars. If you are visiting London or just here for walk. This is a great location for exploring, but do not forget to support the local area and shops. Many guests favourite when speaking to them was Panda Cup, coffee on Blackfriars road. Quality Coffee at nice prices. Enjoy your stay. Relax Enjoy and explore, the hidden gem of London.

Perfect location and excellent service. Very good facilities

The boys loved the pool. This place is so convenient for a number of London attractions we would certainly stay again. Friendly staff, good rooms with air con, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast. The bar area of an evening is somewhere you might go even if you aren't staying at the hotel. Liked everything about this stay.

First impressions matter; hotel was easy to find - short walk from Southwark station, on the Jubilee line; the reception set-up is quite informal, but staff were pleasant and helpful. No problem storing luggage on arrival/departure. We had a family room, on the second floor; queen bed, with two sofa bed singles; bit tight for space, but otherwise perfectly fine. (It would be very spacious as a double, with sofa) Facilities were top class - everything clean, and contemporary. Breakfast is well worth it - don't go room only, as you won't beat it for value anywhere. Chamo was more than helpful - made sure we had everything we needed - organised free umbrellas before we headed out walking (and you can drop them off at any other hotel in the chain, which is very innovative). Free access to a PC and printer in the lobby - ideal for printing boarding passes, tickets/vouchers booked on-line. Kids enjoyed the pool - which is a great additional facility. Overall, very impressed with the hotel and staff - and would definitely stay there again.
M. R.
Staff was friendly and rooms were clean, bathrooms and breakfast buffet were great. The spa however was just a part of the pool, no warmer than the pool itself. Which on its own was satisfactory. Sauna was steamless and we had no control over humidity or temperature, dissapointing. I really do like saunas.
The hotel is situated very close to great pubs and restaurants and is around the corner from general shops. Also very close to the underground metro line, very convenient to get around at a moments notice.

My spouse, two kids (10 & 13 y/o) and I enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and and nicely decorated. The service was excellent and the we really enjoyed the amenities (pool/spa and exercise room) offered. Our rate included breakfast which included a nice variety of hot items as well as a selection of continental items. For dinner some nights e also found the restaurant was reasonably price and the food was good.
After a day out sightseeing and enjoying London Attractions it was nice to come back to the hotel lobby and find fresh baked cookies.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. One other thing I liked was the computer center/w printer available for guest to use. We were able to print our tickets for attractions as well as our boarding passes for our flight home.
Great stay!

It was very nice to be there. Friendly staff. But the service did work not so well all the time. We had no toilet brush in our bathroom when we arrived. We asked 3 times (every time it was a different lady at the reception).
Every time they said they check with housekeeping right away. We thought a toilet brush is necessary because you want to clean after you when you used the toilet. The day before we left we had to talk our self to the housekeeping because it was still not fixed after 3 days and 3 times asking at the reception. The cleaning lady spoke only Romanian so we showed her a picture on our cellphone what we wanted and she fixed it right away. This is not how it should be that we must talk in person to the staff. When we checked out we were not asked how the stay at the hotel was. Otherwise it was very nice hotel, good breakfast, the food in the restaurant was very good as well and the bartender Tristian was super nice and made very good cocktails. We will stay again at this Novotel and hope the next time it will not take 3 days for them to fix something in case the guest is missing a normal needed item in the bathroom.

Overall a delightful stay at this hotel. Great location, nice room, lovely bathroom, beautiful balcony and views. My only minor criticism would be at breakfast each morning having ordered coffee it never arrived and I had to make an additional request, but this was swiftly rectified. Also the scrambled eggs on the 2nd morning were inedible but there was an ample buffet breakfast and the rest of the produce both hot and cold was good so you wouldn't leave hungry. However, I think the icing on the cake here are the staff, from reception through to the bar/restaurant, they are warm, welcoming, attentive and they make you feel like a valued guest. Would I stay again? Yes. Will I recommend this hotel? Definitely.
N. C.
Check-in was quick and easy and the staff were very welcoming and generous. They even upgraded our room after hearing about our situation with another hotel (which we left early) on our anniversary holiday. The room was spacious with a great view of the Shard and railways. The downstairs restaurant was great for a quiet dinner and the WiFi speed was excellent with good coverage throughout the building. The location is great; just a walk from Costa, Tesco, and the Southwark underground.
M. G.
Great location and rooms. This hotel was perfect for us to use while touring London. Also, the bar was a great place to end the night. I did have an issue with someone at the front desk on one occasion, but other than that one time, the customer services was unbelievable. We will stay here again and recommend that you do too.

I stayed for one night at the Novotel Blackfriars as part of the 50th anniversary £50 special offer. I wasn't expecting much, but we had a fantastic stay.
From the moment of walking in the door the service was fantastic. Pauline on reception was incredibly friendly and really couldn't do enough for us. Once she heard it was my boyfriend's birthday she offered us a room upgrade for free, which was a wonderful perk. The view of the Shard was fantastic. She also took my boyfriend's name and kindly arranged for a birthday card, a balloon and a voucher for free prosecco to be sent up to us - a really nice touch. We even got a little print of a photo of us in the lobby, which was sweet. The attention to detail was really astounding - the handwritten card was really thoughtful.
The room was nice and spacious, and the bathroom was lovely. The bed was comfortable and the view fantastic. However, the carpet and cushions were stained in places.
The pool and spa facilities were a bit of a let down. They were clean and convenient, but the spa pool/jacuzzi was too cold to be relaxing and the sauna was lukewarm.
Overall, though, I'd be very likely to stay at the Novotel again after this experience, and that's mainly due to the service. Pauline really made our stay, but everyone else we came across was very helpful and friendly. Thanks!
B. G.
Overall, I was pleased with my experience at this hotel. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean, and service was friendly. I appreciated the option to leave our luggage with the hotel in our "pre check-in". The hotel had the perfect location being a quick walk to the bus and tube stations that we used the most frequently.
Only knocks against the hotel was that the walls in the room had some serious nicks and scratches, like they had just moved the furniture. The walls are white, so I'm not sure why they would delay touching up the paint.
Also, the bathroom's glass walls lost it's novelty pretty quickly. It has electric glass that can give some privacy, but it doesn't block light at all. This can be annoying at nighttime as turning on the bathroom light illuminates the whole room and can disturb your partner.

As soon as we entered the hotel we were greeted with a smile from the reception staff. The smiles and enjoyment continued throughout our stay from all the staff at breakfast and in the bar in the evening. They appear all so happy in their jobs and nothing is too much trouble. The room was lovely modern clean and comfortable. It was lovely to be greeted by the hotel Manager Jacqui in the morning of our last day. Excellent hotel and outstanding service.
F. S.
Free good WiFi. Modern and stylish clean rooms. Great food but staff ignore you whilst you wait to be served.. Feels like a luxury ibis. Check in unfortunately was just like ibis, there was water available but no cups, staff were the usual-don't speak English well seem to struggle to use the computer but other than check in, honestly the only thing wrong with this place is the staff, sort it out and I would give you a five star review.
M. F.
Stayed there for 4 nights in July and it was just great. With just 2 minutes from Southwark underground and walking distance to the Themes and further to London Eye and Westminster, it was the perfect place to start exploring London. The Hotel staff was nice and friendly, room was quiet and clean, roomservice great and the bed was comfortable. Also, nice breakfast and restaurant/bar. All in all a great experience. Pluss also for fixing the safe in my room which was broken when I arrived.
D. E.
Let me just start off by saying, I've never been so pleased with my stay at a hotel before. Firstly, the location is spot on, it's roughly a ten minute walk to central London (London's eye, big Ben, etc.). Secondly, the staff were so kind, welcoming, and helpful. Nextly, the room was fantastic, they were modern, clean, comfortable, and had great space, I cannot describe how amazing they were. Also the pool, gym, and restaurant were so clean and aestheticly pleasing. Lastly the food was wonderful and filling, not one of my tastebuds were dissatisfied! All together, this hotel was amazing cannot wait until my next stay here, recomend it for sure!

All the staff was very help full and cheerful very unique feature not found in our stays in past hotels.
Ms Irene's help was exceptional and prompt.
Some features that may add to getting higher ratings would be adding on dishes with restaurant menu. Menu is short. Due to policy the lady in charge mentioned that the restaurant was closed on 3 May however we got dinner accommodation in adjoining IBIS which is same group hotel. Overall satisfied on all other aspects breakfast and breakfast staff is superb.

Nice room. Convenient location for cycling and tubing. Friendly staff
M. R. E.
We stayed for 3 nights with our 6-year-old daughter. The reception people were helpful and friendly while checking in and out. Having the pool downstairs is a great place to relax after a long day of walking and visiting the city. Its location near the Southwark tube station made it very easy to get to the main attractions and walking back to the hotel via the Southbank adds to the good time we spend in London. Our room was located on the inner side of the hotel and despite all the construction happening nearby the hotel we were not disrupted by construction noise nor street noise. I highly recommend this hotel.
D. M.
Fantastic executive room on the 13th floor with a great view
and a big thanks to the very friendly staff Ababaye, Emma and Christina.
Always smiling and friendly.

My family stayed here during a recent vacation to London, and were very happy we did so; the staff was exemplary, the rooms comfortable and clean, the central location makes it a perfect homebase for exploring London. Overall we found the Hotel to provide wonderful accommodation. From the initial call they went out of their way to ensure our reservation was properly managed, despite our making several changes to it, and their attention to every detail ensured we were comfortable from check in to check out. Would definitely stay here again.

We decided as a family to have a night in London - something we had never done before or likely to, living only 20 minutes by train away. Hotel was lovely, staff helpful, happy and attentive. Room was as expected. Little extra of balloons and a free drink for us all as it was our wedding anniversary, was a welcomed special touch which we all enjoyed. Breakfast was amazing, it's a smallish area where the food is, but the choice and quality was really good - I wish I could have eaten more!
My only issues were the hardness of the pillows and a lack of conditioner for my long hair, which was a nightmare to brush after only having shampoo :(
S. L.
The hotel is superbly located, close to tube, buses and walking distance to many local attrations. There are also lots of eateries close by for a choice of breakfast, lunch or dinner if you opt not to eat at the hotel. We had a family room which was actually a double with two temporary beds. It was a bit cramped but did the job. Good sized bathroom, base amenities on hand.
We didn't have time to use the pool or gym but took a look and it was very small.
Downside was the room service options. Our first night we went to a major sporting event due to start time, we couldnt get dinner beforehand and only hotdog available in the stadium. With 50000 people exiting the stadium at the 10pm finish, it took a long time to get back to the hotel, nowhere was open to grab a snack en route so we opted for room service, the children were famished. Unfortunately after 11pm there is very limited menu and will not sell alcohol (although this is unclear). I'm sure most users of room service it is because there are limited alternatives so feel the options could be better. For example a basic sandwich rather than only toasted sandwich.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, the children thought the hotel was wonderful. The staff were polite and helpful throughout. The biggest bonus is bag storage so you don't have to wander round the city lumbered with heavy luggage.
B. H.
Hotel staff were lovely and very welcoming. Even had a surprise in my suite which was a lovely gesture. They were very accommodating with my 10 Bridesmaids and made them all feel welcome though they arrived at different times during the day. We all had a great night and enjoyed using the Spa facilities. Just a shame the Spa facilities closed at 10pm! Though this was probably in our best interest considering we had an early start the next morning. Mel at the Blackfriars Hotel was great with the booking process and made it easy and stress free to secure the all the rooms we needed. The hotel rooms are all very modern and have very good facilities. Loved the Bluetooth speaker in the suite. We had a great night. Thank you Novotel Blackfriars!
P. C.
Great hotel, lively bar area with a great selection of drinks, one issue whilst I was there was that they had run out of both draft ales, plenty of other drinks to choose from so not the end of the world. The rooms are spacious, comfy beds and really good bathroom with interesting doors that when open fold in to the walls, nice design touch I thought. Breakfast was great with one of the widest choices of breakfast food I have seen for a while. Cooked or chilled, healthy or "unhealthy" its all there :-) and with fast check-in and out, very good experience. Oh and not to forget air con very good and extremely quiet in room, which was a bonus as temps reaching high 20's in London for the days I was there. One word of caution.... cycle lane directly outside hotel is very busy, so crossing the road is a challenge, safe option is to walk a few yard to the right of the hotel doors to a crossing point.
K. P.
Room was lovely and so enjoyed the private balcony would recommend this hotel. Staff were very friendly as was nice to be greater on my arrival with a smile. Even though my room wasn't ready for early check-in they took my luggage and locked it away so I was able to head out and enjoy some of the city.
M. B. N.
Great location , just 100m from Southwark tube.
clean, big , equipped room .
A nice little pool . Sauna , no Jacuzzi. Good restaurant.
Welcoming staff , fast check in.
We were very happy with our hotel choice (6 nights)
M. D.
We were delighted with the stay in Novotel Blackfriars recently. We booked in January however, we were concerned until the time that we checked in about getting interconnecting rooms. Thankfully this happened but was a worry for a long time. It would have been nice to be sure of interconnecting rooms as with a 10 and 4 year old, two separate rooms would have made our trip very difficult.
Showers are slippy and while there is an offer of bathmats, I think these might be provided automatically when children are involved. Also, there was no shower hats or conditioner (shampoo / conditioner 2 in 1 would be sufficient). Lighting in the bathroom is poor so a makeup mirror with light would be helpful.
Children's menu in the restaurant could be a little more varied.
Overall our stay was excellent, the breakfast was very good and the staff did an excellent job, particularly on the morning after the recent attack on London.
Thank you all.
L. S.
Great hotel & perfect location with a lively bar. Our room was spotless and really spacious feeling with a nice view of the shard. The staff were brilliant & really helpful. A special thanks you to Matthew for making us feel so welcome. I highly recommend. For business or pleasure you won't be disappointed.
T. M.
Had an absolute amazing time here for my partners birthday, was made very special! Room had amazing view of the shard and was very clean, room service was lovely! Missed eggs for breakfast as had ran out but this is our only fault. Swimming pool and sauna were lovely also nice and clean. Bar staff were brilliant especially a guy called chamo who made us chuckle! Will definitely be going back
T. T.
The hotel facility was nice and modern, with comfortable beds and beddings. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. I liked that we could have breakfast buffet every morning before we head out. The hotel was as short walk to the train (subway) station which was convenient. The availability of the buggy for my little nephew and umbrellas were a huge plus!!!
J. T.
Stayed in the executive room with balcony over look the shard, and loved it! The room itself was big, bed comfy, shower powerful and clean all round. Breakfast was abit manic in the morning. Would be 5 stars if the staff were friendly on arrival.
J. S.
For my wife and I this was pure luxury. Our balcony suite was delightful, fantastic views, amazingly comfortable bed, outstanding in room facilities like the Bose Bluetooth speaker, fridge and the amount of space. We booked it through the Tesco Clubcard scheme which saved a lot of money especially compared to walk in prices. Breakfast was tasty, a great selection of hot and continental food. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. 2 negatives; 1. The pool was a touch on the cold side - other reviews have competed on this. 2. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived even though I had checked in online and received confirmation that the room key was ready - this was made up to us wife 2 free drinks each due to the original time prediction of 10 minutes became 40 minutes. £20's worth of drinks was worth the wait as we were only going to come straight back down from our room once we had dropped out luggage off to do that anyway. Praise to 2 staff, sorry no names; the young foreign lady, short, dark hair, glasses when we checked in - although there was the room issue, she was highly professional and courteous about it and gave us a personal service. The other young, "I'm gay" (his words), bar tender and breakfast server - incredibly friendly and professional service, made us feel welcome and had a good chuckle with us. Would I stay again? absolutely!! I will keep saving the Tesco vouchers up. Thank you to everyone.
P. C.
Our room had plenty of space and conveniences. A very comfortable bed and excellent soundproofing. We were an easy walk from many attractions or could easily hit the tube at Southwark and transfer as needed to get around. The staff was helpful, and the cleaning was excellent. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
R. R.
Good hotel. We had a superior room for 3 people. Was very pleased with the room, large and good air conditioning. Central and quiet area. Only 2 minutes to the nearest underground and 10-15 minutes to the London eye. Can walk to central London in 30 minutes along the River Thames and across the bridges. Recommended walk if you are not in a hurry.
S. S.
An amazing hotel, really friendly staff, food was amazing, bed was comfortable shower was powerfull would recommend room 914. As soon as I walked in the best customer service and felt really welcome by a staff Teone, booked this hotel 4 times since, would recommend this hotel, all staff lovely and I have stayed in alot of hotels.
Wish them all a merry xmas 😊

We recently stayed as a family this weekend and had an amazing time.
The staff were wonderful, friendly, attentive and couldn't do enough for us.
The room was a great size for a family of 4 and although the car was in full swing and lots of nearby restaurants/pub nothing could be heard from outer room.
I've never stayed in a hotel so quiet before.
We will definately be back soon

Nice couple of nights. The room have a glass partition instead of a wall between the bathroom and bedroom/living room. The staff was excellent. Within walking distance of the eye and Tate modern. For us it was ideal for train and things we wanted to do. Good price and can accommodate family.
A. U. K.
Great hotel & perfect location with a lively bar. Our room was spotless and really spacious feeling with a nice view of the shard. The staff were brilliant & really helpful. A special thanks you to Matthew for making us feel so welcome. I highly recommend. For business or pleasure you won't be disappointed.Nice

Clean, well spaced, good catering, hot coffee!

This hotel was consistent with what I expect from Novotel. Front Desk staff was excellent, they were very professional. The mornings at the front desk are a little crazy though, could use a bit more staffing. Room was clean and convenient for our family trip. Hotel was a quick walk to the Southwark tube station, 5 minutes tops, and could easily connect to trains to all major attractions.
A. T.
Stayed in the Novotel Blackfriars for a weekend break. We were celebrating my boyfriends birthday and mentioned this at the time of booking. I was hoping we'd get a room with a nice view but the service received was well above my expectations. Upon arrival we found balloons, a card and a very thoughtful gift waiting for us. The room was spacious and had a lovely view of the Shard.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The leisure facilities were nice, I especially enjoyed the pool and the saunarium.
The hotel is just a few minutes away from Blackfriars bridge and Southwark tube station is right around the corner. Excellent location for wondering down to Borough market.
I would definitely recommend it.
A. M.
Staff was very friendly right from the check in to check out. Hotel was exactly as described with no surprises. The room was a nice size, clean and with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good. I left some contents in room safe and the staff arranged the shipment to my next hotel in Paris which was greatly appreciated.

I stayed for 4 nights with my son. It was a very good experience. very frendly and service-minded staff. All areas including our room, pool area, receptipon and resturant were clean and tidy. The breakfast was healthy and several options, fruits available. A bit dark room and restaurant decor. We will definitely come back.
S. M.
Our experience was wonderful! The night manager, Luliana, spoke to me when in poked and helped me make sure everything was perfect. When we arrived in London, and decided we wanted to come to the hotel a day earlier, she helped us extend our stay. She made sure everything was perfect! When we arrived the rest of the staff was just wonderful! They helped us find our way around the city and weee super welcoming. Even the folks in the restaurant were fabulous. So happy we stayed with you.
S. P.
Good central location. Bus stop and tube nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff, and had an upgraded room foc as was a special trip. Room was very nice on 13th floor and a great view of the shard. Breakfast is a buffet, of continental and also cooked. The bar is also well stocked and reasonably priced for London. There is also a gym and pool, but I didn't get chance to try them. Will definitely stay there again.
S. S.
Clean and well equipped room with comfortable bed. Staff are really friendly and room service was fast and good quality. The draft lager in the bar was quite flat but there is a good atmosphere in there. The pool and sauna facilities are also good with lockers and towels provided.
A. s.
Amazing hotel! Great brand name and they live upto their mark. Super friendly and generous staff! It’s right near Southwark underground station and couple of footsteps away is Waterloo underground! Hence very well connected! London eye is also walkable if don’t mind little bit of walking (Not at all far). Rooms are very well furnished and equipped. Overall I’d recommend this hotel for stay.
R. B.
Brilliant location, just a three minutes walk to the nearest tube station at Southwark which is rarely crammed at all. The staff were brilliant and attentive to all our needs without fail. The room was comfortable and decorated to a high standard with a smart glass in the shower looking into the room that can go opaque/transparent with a click of a button.
I knocked off one star off this hotel for two reasons. Firstly, we were informed that a fire drill was to take place at 11am on the first full day of our stay and not to panic. However, this alarm went off at 9am instead and everyone headed down. We were told it was a test so went to breakfast but at Ibis that was just next door as both buildings were attached with only a fire door separating the both which was open and signs leading that way. It was a very crammed and stressful experience over at Ibis and much better at Novotel the following day.
Secondly, when the cleaners came in the room, they took our room card out of the holder so the rooms weren’t being heated whilst we were away and our toiletries that were being charged at the shaver sockets were tampered with so it was not charging at all.
P. M.
Room, housekeeping, reception staff all excellent. 10/10 in all cases. Breakfast was a disappointment. The bacon (especially) was poor - more 'steamed' than grilled or fried and the slices glued together. Not appetising... Tea also poor. I stayed in your hotel 3 times before and the breakfast was very good indeed. This time I drank water only at breakfast as the coffee was just about OK (same as before) but tea was worse. Fruit was very good even if choice was limited.
Some decent brown bread would be very welcome. It was stodgy
J. R.
Very nice hotel, well situated for visiting London attractions. Extremely family friendly and the staff were all really nice. The restaurant attached provided a good selection and was reasonably priced. Pool facilities were good and very clean. Only criticism would be we didn't bother with the breakfast as it seemed overpriced and the queues were huge.
G. S.
This place is absolutely amazing!! I am so glad we chose this hotel to spend our first few nights of our honeymoon. We recieved complimentary upgrades for our room, and upon first walking in there was a cute setup of heart balloons and petals in a heart shape on the bed, along with a tasting plate of some sweet treats. There was also a personalized card addressed to us from the hotel staff- that was a really special touch! The beds are comfy, the staff is attentive, and the food is delicious! The location is central and its so easy to travel to any destination in London! Complimemtary cookies are always in the lobby- by the way. If I ever find myself in London, I would definitely stay here again!!
D. L.
Friendly staff.
Clean and practical rooms. Good views.
Nice pool.
Attentive waitresses.
P. T.
We booked this hotel as it was close to Waterloo station. It's within easy walking distance or one tube stop.
As always at Novotel, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room comfortable, clean and well maintained.
We ate in the restaurant during the evening and had breakfast there too, all very good and good value.
On the morning of our departure we managed to squeeze in a swim after breakfast, a great boon for a city centre hotel when you have children to keep amused!
S. y.
Warm welcome on arrival and plenty of staff ready to deal with check in. Room was clean and tidy however my wife didn't think the bed linen smelt as fresh as previous visits? This is our 3rd or 4th stay at this hotel and find it very convenient for our London trips as it is in walking distance of Waterloo train station and local tube. The area has a number of great bars and restaurants in easy walking distance and recommend Jacks Bar, Laughing Gravy and Marcellaio (fantastic Steak) and many more to try. The hotel is excellently managed and the lady in non uniform at breakfast stood out with excellent customer service - look forward to our next visit!
T. D.
Good chill environment & lovely bar staff
S. G.
Good hotel at a great location for tourism. Well assorted international breakfast and quite okay menu during the rest of the day and evening, not first class but acceptable. WiFi included (which is a great service) as well as screens at the breakfast area (great silencer and time-sink for energetic kids). Attentive and charming staff. I would gladly stay there again.
D. O. (.
We stayed in the hotel for a short weekend break to the capital.
It was short walk from Southwark station, making travel across town easy.
The service from the staff was first rate, and my wife really appreciated the personalised birthday card in the room, as well as the glasses of Prosecco on the house.
The room was excellent with wonderful views looking out towards the Shard and St Paul’s. Breakfast was great, as we have come to expect from Novotel.
Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. and we will definitely be coming back here on our future weekend breaks in the capital
C. C.
Excellent staff, rooms are very inviting and the beds are great. The breakfast is something you don't want to miss and the Chef even will prepare MTO omelettes and other dishes. Will definitely go there again!! Great location to get to everything and it is easy to get to being only a block away from the Southwark Tube station (Jubilee line)
f. a.
Good hotel, friendly staff, comfy beds, room had everything you need, liked the phone chargers on the bar, but breakfast needs improving. Bacon cooked on trays overlapping each other and hash browns steamed to keep warm is not the greatest. A chef at least at the breakfast bar would have been nice
A. S.
May go up a star - first visit so will see! That was yesterday when we arrived so ... how are we doing? Very well - have given 5 stars because 1). People friendly 2. Hotel room description accurate - although we have orange/grey sofa and I did like the yellow in the site pic. 3. Love pressing the button so u can see the view from the shower (see pic) - it goes from opaque to clear so u have privacy when needed ☺️. 4. Good choice at breakfast. 4. Bar has all u need and decor in real life better than expected from photos 5. Great position for South Bank and Borough Market as can walk to both which gives a good flavour of this part of London. Well done Accor Novotel 👍
J. C.
Checked in with my husband on 22nd dec, not only we had an earlier check in, we were given complimentary upgrade to executive room. They even gave us drinks voucher while waiting for our room. The room was decorated for our anniversary and with such superb service, it helps when i do not have my children with me for Christmas. They even helped me keep my breastmilk in the freezer. big thumbs up! The staff are away from family for Christmas but yet they were chirpy and friendly. Highly reccomended and sad to check out tomorrow.
E. M.
Really enjoyed our stay. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had most contact with the restaurant staff at breakfast and they were all excellent. A special mention to Champo his personality is an asset to this hotel. Rooms were very clean and comfortable
v. v.
we didn't get an upgrade of our room however the front desk offered the usual perks of a superior room and a well located room with a nice view. The breakfast is rich and as you can expect in a Novotel. The staff is friendly and efficient. A pleasant overall experience.
C. N.
Not only is the location of Novotel Black Friars perfect, the staff and facilities are absolutely brilliant. The front desk staff were all incredibly kind and helpful - made us feel at home as well as like true guests. Even our seven year old was treated kindly. Comfortable beds, the pool was perfect (music under the water!!? so exciting) and the easy walk to the South Bank created such an ease for us to explore London!
D. S.
My wife and I were staying at the hotel as part of her 30th birthday celebration. The staff member who checked us in upgraded us because of this and also arranged balloons, a card and a glass of prosseco. The room was spacious, clean with an excellent view. I also enjoyed my morning swim in the pool.
D. M.
Fantastic hotel, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! Lovely bedrooms, friendly staff and reasonably priced food and drink.
Asked for a travel cot, which was brought up to the room and assembled within minutes. All of the staff I encountered made me and my family feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
A short walk from Southwark tube station, this hotel is in a handy location that serves as a good base for exploring London.
T. M.
Room relatively small and basic but expected for London. The restaurant in the lobby of the hotel wasn't worth the price. We arrived and were instantly greeted with a smile. People working there are really helpful and try to facilitate the journey. The hotel is on a very convenient location to the city.
S. B.
Great stay. Reception staff happily accomodated a last minute request to add a third person to our room and set up a sofa for us. Lovely breakfast with lots of veggie options. Uber to everything for cheap. Great hotel.
A. S.
I enjoyed it, but my company paid the hotel. Usually they pay pre trip but it appeared with this hotel they didnt. It was a fault of the company on my end. But the manager there was being rude to me, making it seem like it was my fault. I told him I apologize on behalf of my company but I couldn't control it. He was being unfriendly and made me feel like it was my fault. All other attendants were great, he was the one that made me feel unwelcome, while i was worried if my company had paid the hotel. Very unprofessional. the Hotel was great, just the one person that left a bitter taste in my mouth.
P. G.
Excellent stay. Nice and clean room for 2 adults and 2 children. Very attentive staff, friendly and competent. The swimming pool is convenient to finish a long day with the kids. Breakfast buffet is abundant
C. S.
We stayed for two nights, with out exception the staff were all very friendly and professional, making you feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough.
A.
Good Novotel, with their new brand rainfall showers. Nice views!
Service from reception was really good - especially from Sara.
The bar and restaurant could do with more smiles from the staff, but breakfast was good and the waiters there were polite and friendly.
Overall a nice refurbished Novotel!
S. M.
We had a 2 night stay here from Thursday to Saturday. Check in was swift, friendly reception staff. Room was clean and modern with a great tv signal. The attached restaurant and bar was lively and fun with staff that couldn't do enough although at points through the evening their wasn't enough of them. All in all, really good stay here and would come back again.
A. M.
Good location, nice decor, nice bar (Jamboree). There is also a nice pool and sauna. The receptionists are very nice, but in general there is lack of flexibility in carefully serving the guest.
Breakfast is okay, nothing exceptional to be honest.
Also, some small details missing, which you would expect considering the classification: as example, slippers, sponge for cleaning shoes...
Last but not least, found twice for non consecutive days a long hair on my plate while having breakfast. Disgusting. It can happen, but it shouldn't. Especially twice!
Will I come back? Not entirely sure...
V. C.
Would not hesitate in recommending this hotel 🏨 to anyone.
Apart from the locality and amenities, the friendliness of the staff is unbelievable.
Special thanks go Melissa and Sara, and also the breakfast staff and Jackie too.
You are all amazing, you have wonderful, warm friendly smiles and you all greet your guests from the heart .
You made out stay here most memorable.
J. V.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Feel welcomed by the staff as soon as you come in. The hotel is amazing specially the room, i couldn't say anything more their room is amazing the view is spectacular. I will highly recommend it and will deffinently coming back again.

Easy, comfortable and great value. Having stayed multiple times for business and family trips, Jacqui and all the staff are ever helpful and accommodating. Facilities are good, rooms are clean and modern of good size (especially in central London) breakfasts are great.
B. N.
Decent stay. Breakfast was good. Staff are top quality. Bed was a bit worn. My room always got cleaned very late in the day. The location is prime though. I found it very convenient for a London first timer.
C. J.
The room was nice enough, I opted to upgrade room via email offer.
Did not notice any difference from room I had booked.
Using the bathroom at night woke sleeping partner, due to glass divide. Silly design for a hotel room.
Swimming pool was cold, not enjoyable.
Breakfast was good.
s. d.
The location at Blackfriars was excellent. The room was clean and met expectations. The staff were very helpful - in particular I would like to call out Melissa on the front help as being extra helpful. The breakfast quality was very good with a great selection. All in all we had a great family stay.
D. W.
Excellent - attentive staff who asked why we were staying & then arranged balloons & free drinks for our anniversary celebration. We had to bring our daughter with us unexpectedly and this too was not a problem and an additional bed was made up with no issues at all. Really great service which was much appreciated.
D. O.
Fabulous hotel really friendly staff. Awesome location within touching distance of all that's great about London's city centre and west end delights. Great bar restaurant /steak house downstairs with even more friendly staff. What's not to like.
K. E.
Great stay. Good location with good access to London transport. Only downside is the lack of on site car parking facilities.
Lovely spa to chill after a days sight-seeing.
Wonderful staff. Chamo deserves a very special mention who was a delight & made the experience very special for our little lad.
The reception girls - Pauline and a trainee were exceptional. Thank you for all of your hospitality.
C. W.
I stayed at Novotel London Blackfriars this past June and really enjoyed their amenities. What truly made this hotel stand out was the excellent service by the staff. I was always welcomed and asked if I needed anything. I still remember the wonderful continental breakfast I had with Cristian and Alina--they were so friendly and welcoming when I asked them about travel advice around London.
T. M.
Very good in every way. I was upgraded to a room on the 13th floor so very happy with this as the views were great. Rooms are nice but then if the hotel is geared for parties ahead of guests wanting a peaceful stay then it has its priorities wrong.
T. M.
We stayed at this really beautiful, state of the art Hotel in April, and it really is a fantastic place to stay. We booked Exec Room with Balcony this time and as Accor Platinum card holders we asked for an upgrade if suite available. I'd …
D. Z.
I would have given this hotel 5 stars if it wasn't for the bathtub/shower. There was mildew in the bathtub/shower, which could easily be taken care of with some bleach. Also, the bathtub made word gurgling noises when we weren't even in the bathroom. Hotel has a great location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms and an indoor pool.
R. G.
Really nice hotel in great location near South bank. The restaurant is good with interesting selection of food and drink. Some drinks bit pricey. The executive rooms are really nicely appointed with plenty of space and great touches like Bose speakers.
j. c.
My wife and I went to the London blackfriar Novotel and had a great experience. We mentioned that we got married the month prior, and the lady at the front desk was very kind to upgrade us to their suite. The room was wonderful, and the staff was great about any questions we had. Will definitely stay here again in the future.
P. V. M.
The location is great. Just a block from the metro. The hotel and amenities are good. Nice rooms. Pool is small but nice. Sauna was awesome. Would be 4-5 stars if it wasn't for the bed. My wife and I like firmer mattresses and these are quite soft. But a soft mattress in good condition is fine. These mattresses are totally worn out. There are huge low spots where two people would sleep. It's not even subtle. These are like pits. We couldn't even sleep on it or our backs would have hurt in the morning so we made our kids sleep on it and we slept on their twins which were great. Hehe. In the morning we asked if they could change out the mattress. They said they didn't have any and were surprised as they'd never gotten complaints. BS. They offered to let us change rooms. We had to pack everything back up and they moved us while we were out during the day. And the new room....just as bad. Fortunately we discovered there was a memory foam topper on the mattress so we removed the mattress and leaned it up against the wall and just put the topper directly on the box spring. That worked pretty well. But a huge pain in the butt for a place trying to get too much life out of their cheap mattresses. We wouldn't return unless we knew they had replaced their mattresses. If you care about the comfort of your bed and prefer firmer beds, don't stay here. Other than that the place was great.

From the moment I entered the Hotel early in the morning requiring an early check in, I was greeted with warmth and courtesy something that is missing in so many hotels in this day of rush, go, take or leave. My room was spotless and fresh although my stay was short I truly enjoyed my first stay in a Novotel. From the manager, receptionist, bar and restaurant staff all made me feel welcome and willing to help. The next time I am staying in London I will of course stay in Novotel Blackfriars Road so central so good so nice, one complaint not enough people dined for dinner in the restaurant what a shame their mistake Dinner was excellent.
T. M.
We were looking for a reasonable price family hotel close to Londons attractions. Some views from the windows and a bonus that they opened. Quiet surrounding even when our room faces the main road. Their people skills are excellent. Thank you for my birthday card and chocolates -a lovely touch.
I. S.
From the check-in to the check out the experience was amazing. The staff was always ready to help no matter how silly the question or request. The duty manager Francoise was amazing. Best customer service. He deserves a raise. The food was very good and breakfast was one of the best we ever enjoyed. Thank you for the exceptional experience.
J. I.
I stayed at a Novotel for the first time in years. What a pleasant surprise. My opinion about Novotel hotels was not the best, but Novotel Blackfriars proofed me wrong. State of the art designed great rooms and a spa with an indoor pool I merely did not expect.
The staff was outstanding in welcoming and providing the best available room.
Total satisfaction, thank you so much.
K. R.
Lovely pool and once was finally able to check in the room is great
i. c.
We went to celebrate my boyfriend birthday in London and stayed in this amazing hotel, on arrivel they decided to upgrade us to the best room, because it was his birthday they gave use free drinks at the bar and put birthdays balloons and a card in our room as well, everything was so personal and the hotel staff knew who we were before we had even met them, they made the whole experience amazing, the pool was lovely and bar was very stylish and unique. I would recommend to everyone, never had such a fab experience
L. R.
While the hotel was clean and quiet, the staff clearly need to get better training. They were unresponsive to inquiries as to how the shower worked, where to find ice machines and were unable to give recommendations for local restaurants. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant downstairs and the pastries were tired and tasteless. Much can be improved.
C. M.
My wife and I visited London and Paris for our two week honeymoon. We loved staying at Novotel and it was a wonderful place to come back to at night after seeing all of London. The staff was nice and professional. We really enjoyed, and still brag about, the delicious breakfast served in the mornings. We would have stayed another week and skipped Paris if we would have known how fun London was going to be. We will be back hopefully sometime in our lifetime and we will stay here again.
H. D. L.
There was a gentleman that was working in the restaurant for breakfast, he had the funniest laugh and fantastic attitude, he made everyone laugh and was a great start to the morning...bumped into some maintenance staff on the 6th floor and was pleased to see that they both greeted me, the rest of your staff were very warm and welcome and do a fantastic job. Will come back here again for sure. The gym and sauna were great and this hotel is very well located... will be back for sure
R. T.
I slept like a baby when I stayed here. The rooms are very cool and it's a very short walk to Southwark Station. From my bed I could see The Shard. I'll upload a photo. Oh, and the breakfast here for the hotel guests is absolutely delicious. If you stay here, please enjoy the breakfast, I swear; it's so good. One more thing, if you are flying into Gatwick it's only a small pleasant train ride away.
A. P.
It was a great holiday based from the Blackfriars hotel. The accommodation was excellent and the pool a bonus for the kids. The staff were attentive and no problem was to small to deal with. Special mention to the Spanish chap who was in the restaurant, bright cheery and put a smile on our faces.
A. C.
What an amazing hotel! Was more than happy from when we arrived until we left! Julien was great, upgraded our room for our anniversary and also brought us a card and balloons to our room. Thank you for a satisfying stay!
C. B.
I had an exec. room with balcony; bed was very comfortable and the overall space and facilities excellent. Breakfast in the room one morning, which supplied much more food than I could eat. Balcony gave some extra space and a vista of some London landmarks including St Paul's and the Shard but also to Canary Wharf. Staff were helpful and polite.
M. T.
We booked a family room and it was large enough for a young family of 4. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Being about 200m away from the nearest underground station made it very easy to get just about anywhere in London and the playground nearby at Nelson Square was a hit with the kids.
M. D.
Almost 5 stars. Loved the hotel. Staff were great. Room was comfortable, but the coffee was aweful... Only reason they lost a star. Would go back again though and wake up earlier to grab a coffee nearby before breakfast.
K. R.
Loved my stay except a few things.
The room fridge stank of kebab which caused the smell to linger bit disappointed had nt' been cleaned out.
And pool was having maintenance so sauna was not usable .
Finally the cleaner entered the room without knocking then left without apologising
Found chewing gum fall from curtain
Apart from that great location and comfy bed.
L. T.
Welcoming upon arrival; we brought our five month old daughter and they greeted her warmly with a little toy. A nice little touch that started the trip off great. The location of the hotel was excellent--close to the London Eye and a nice walk to Tower Bridge. Easy access to a metro as well, which was nice since we were traveling a bit heavier than we did on our pre-baby trips.
The attached restaurant was less than a pleasant experience--sat for 25 minutes before we were even acknowledged for our drink order, although it was not very busy. A table that sat about 10 minutes after us had their order taken before us, which was somewhat annoying since outings have a certain shelf-life with an infant. We had to flag someone down to both order and grab our check. Hoping it was just an isolated incident and they don't usually operate this poorly, but we were so off-put by the experience, we didn't bother going back, despite the convenience.
B. H.
Great experience. The staff is lovely there as always. Check-in experience was very much appreciated and the reception staff was available for good advice during the stay.Great to see smiles !
Room is fairly good, in line with expectations for this category.
T. P.
The lack of a dedicated front desk is disconcerting at first encounter. As is the dystopian voice of elevator ("going UPPP!") But the hotel itself is neat and clean and a decent price. Not the greatest location, but close to the Tube. Staff were courteous and friendly. Checkout was painless.
R. C.
We found the staff helpful and cheerful. Tasty fruit water and afternoon cookies were great for my teenager. I must say that the experience at this Novotel hotel was NOT universal! We were looking forward to our last night before leaving England at the Novotel Heathrow (expecting the same great service), but found out that the chain is NOT consistent!! Novotel Heathrow was the opposite experience -- unhelpful/incomplete email responses, no attention to number of guests in the room (bedding not ready), extra fees for room service (5 pounds addition for delivery!!!!), etc. I would stay at BLACKFRIARS again anytime, but never at Heathrow.
D. N.
Having only stayed on of our four nights so far I'd like to say that everything is superb. The staff were friendly and helpful upon arrival. The standard of the rooms is excellent and even the breakfast buffet has a wide selection of good food to choose from
C. C.
Nothing could better then my stay at Novotel Blackfriars!
Julian at the welcome gave me all the information to have the best stay ever!
The room was spotless and bed extra confy but the best part was the shower with a perfect water temperature!!
The food at Jamboree was AMAZING and with a That friendly atmosphere my dinner couldn't be better!
K. “. T.
Good accommodation very clean and polite staff
T. M.
The location of this hotel is excellant. Staff were extremely helful and friendly and even sorted us with a last minute late check out when we left. Gym and spa facilities great. I really would like to return to this hotel if I have a business trip in London in the future.
H. f. H.
Great pool. Get to swim with fishes' reflections. Free breakfast for under 15s in family room. Cool bar area. Would go there even if not staying at hotel
K. T.
Very pleasant hotel, surprisingly quiet with a window into Blackfriars Rd...less quiet through the door into the hallway with families letting their kids run around, and awful in the pool and sauna area at all times of day. Please consider having most of the day be kid-free in that area, especially early morning and later evening.
B. N.
Great location so close to Thames, the Underground, restaurants. The room was clean, the beds comfortable. We had excellent weather while in London. Special thanks to Franscesco who went over and above to make our stay perfect, nice meeting you! You were busy when we had to leave and we didn't get our chance to say bye and thank you!
W. S.
We stayed for three nights and only wish it had been longer. The hotel was so convenient for us to get to our conference at the O2 but also easy to get anywhere in London being only a couple of minutes walk from the Jubilee line. Will definitely stay again.
Only one minor disappointment was the scrambled egg! The breakfasts were brilliant but the scrambled egg was a little too hard. We like it creamy and moist, but we had lots of other things to choose from. Thank you.
U. F.
I had the nicest welcome at the Novotel last week. Julian is a young gentleman, who will make it far in his career. His service was exceptional. The hotel itself is in a great location and the rooms were spotless. I would return any time.
D. I.
What’s not too like. It’s my second overnight stay here on business. It’s 200 yds from Southwark tube station, it’s got great showers, comfortable beds, great decor. The food is good, Lagonitas IPA in the bar (oh thank you), happy helpful staff, a very visible and approachable manager if something does go wrong, ok, I don’t like service charges but the service was good and I will be back.
j. b.
The rooms spacious and modern very clean, comfortable large beds. would recommend to anyone to stay.
My only little gripe was could not sign in before 1400 without paying extra £50, although could leave bags and then go off, would think on the whole a midday check in would be much more preferable, as this is the case in other hotels i have stayed in London.
T. M.
You cannot beat the location of this hotel which is within walking distance from several underground stations including Waterloo, Southwark, and Blackfriars. Almost new hotel with the most modern accoutrements. The staff is amazing. I recommend this hotel and plan to stay here on my next UK vacation with hubby.
T. M.
I couldn't have been happier with this hotel. Great location for the South bank and only 20 min walk from Covent garden. Would recommend Boruough market for a visit and Southbank for a walk. There is a couple of small supermarkets nearby. Bathroom with walk in shower was lovely after the long journey.
J. k.
Everything was quite good , I booked 2 double rooms but I asked for 2 twin rooms and 1 double room (with a view) for my parents wherein both requirements were fulfilled !
Breakfast was perfect
Unfortunately the swimming pool's water was cold ( I suggest instead of providing swimming pool all day with cold water , make it available for the guests couple of hours but with hot water)
I'd also like to suggest if a customer may book a twin room through the hotel's site instead of booking a double room for 2 persons and asks for a twin room under the special requirements
All employees treated us in a nice and friendly way , thanks !
V. C.
Location: extremely convenient, a minute walk to tube and walking distance to many attractions
Room: we got free upgrade to Executive Room, very spacious, modern design and clean. But one of the windows in our room canmot be shut completely, a littlenoise made by trains can be heard
Reception and staff: very helpful and friendly

Lovely coffee.. breakfast was help yourself.. hash browns were rather over cooked and a bit greasy. Mass cooked items... Not much care gone into the cooking stage.. but it was ok.. nice staff.. the lady was very welcoming and helpful.. and accommodating.. eggs cooked separately and fresh..

Mixed feelings. Good location, nice room. However I head a feeling of quite disorganized approach and service to Platinum member. I arrived in the hotel around 12.30. Room was not ready until 14.00. I would think that room for Platinum member should be cleaned first. If even not, I don't see a reason that it took 1,5 hours to make it cleaned once I showed up. Room itself was nice. However I guess that for Platinum member something better was available - higher floor, more windows (room was very dark). Bathroom in my opinion was missing toilet brush.
As far as checkin is concerned it was nice and adequate that as no room upgrade was possible, free bf was offered.
Even though it took 1,5 hours to wait for the room, it was not fully prepared. Later there was a person coming with water, and later again another person with welcome gift. Quite annoying and disturbing peaceful stay.
After first night I got a note to contact front desk regarding payment guarantee. I don't understand why enough authorization was not made at checkin. When I contacted FO it appeared I didn't need to make any further authorization. Again annoying.
Other annoying thing was that my card didn't work in the pool door (I filled out the form). I had to contact FO again.
I was happy with the service in the restaurant (BF and lunch). Very nice Spanish guy (Catalonyan actually).
Something I greatly disliked was long island iced tea. It was worst I ever had. I don't know why, one of the ingredients was Jack Daniels. I haven't ever seen this drink to include whiskey.

Room service breakfast was poor in quality and presentation. Poor choice of cold cuts and cheeses. Allowed in the pool only was the limitation but these people ignored that and the swimming instructor who was there obviously not adhering to …

Stayed at Novotel for one night, right before I left London to go back to NYC. It's clean, modern, and about a block away from Southwark Station, making public transportation super convenient. There's also a Tesco Express nearby, so it was nice to not have to walk too far to pick up water/snacks. I really don't have any complaints about this Novotel location. It's about a 15-30 minute walk to the major tourist attractions, so not too far. It's centrally located enough, without having to break the bank.
F. G.
We were at the Novotel on the tragic night of 3rd June 2017. The staff were amazing and should be rewarded for their dedication and professionalism in representing the Novotel Blackfriars. The staff worked through the night looking after guests and those evacuated from the attack area. They then stayed on to feed and provide drinks for everyone. All at a time when they must have had concerns about contacting friends and loved ones themselves. The staff quite honestly healed my faith in humanity and caring within society. My 10 year old daughter was concerned over the attacks but the Novotel staff smiles and calm approach provided my little girl with security. I would especially commend the young man who served behind the bar area on Sunday morning (he also greeted guests into breakfast on Monday morning in the breakfast area). He was efficient but attentive, regularly checking to find out if anyone needed Capucino, Latte, Espresso - a bit of normality after a terrible night.Thank you so much.

A really nice hotel. I stay here every year for the London Winter Run in February. Rooms are very nice, there is a modestly sized but decent pool to use. Free cookies in reception and a Nandos across the road. Tune station is a two minute walk away or a 5 minute walk over Thames and you're on Bankside.
My only gripe is that the prices do tend to rise quite a lot each year so how much longer I'll be using it depends. Also, sauna was broken on my last visit.
J. R.
We had the best welcome at the Novotel last week,Julian is a young gentleman,Who will have a fantastic career,His service was exceptional. The hotel itself is in a great location and the rooms were spotless,I would highly recommend this place.
J.
We spent one last night in London before moving abroad at Novotel Blackfriars and what a memorable night! From the kitchen staff approaching to the table to get a direct feedback to the housekeeping with a spotless cleaning this hotel stands up to the rest of hotels that we ever stayed before, the food is amazing and a the service is very efficient, breakfast is always topped up and plentiful, the views from the room 1204 is simply stunning! You can see the Shard at the same time that you enjoy a drink in the room's terrace, the check in and out was smooth and fast, we definitelly have a favourite place to stay in London! Thank you to the whole team!
j. m.
Stayed in this hotel for 2 night.it was nice and comfy, the staff were nice and helpful. Very close to tube station, breakfast was good but not my type so I had to have my breakfast in nearby café.
I will definitely go back there again
T. M.
The location can't be beat as you are just blocks from the Thames and the Globe theatre. There's a small Tesco around the corner from the tube station, in the opposite direction to the hotel. Location close to the City and near the Thames …

Amazing hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, food was very nice, room was amazing couldn’t of asked for anything better, very friendly with children, really enjoyed my stay, would 100% recommend for anyone
S. S.
Extremely convenient location for work in the city. Very hospitable staff and overall a very good experience. Marked improvement overall from when I stayed last year. Room service menu can be a little more international though.
C. J.
amazing views from the balcony, great welcome for a birthday with card and balloons, fab breakfast, great cocktails in the bar and when we had a minor problem with the bill sorted quickly and efficiently. will definitely be back as didn't get to try the pool this time!!
G. W.
Excellent, staff were friendly efficient and helpful. The rooms are clean and well designed, I am sitting in the Novotel Siam Square and the room is almost identical. The location of the hotel is really superb.
H. N.
The room was very technological, lots of space, WiFi, TV, conference etc. However, I was very disappointed with the bed...like a hammock...such a bad mattress - couldn't believe it! The pillows were great which is rarity for the hotel, but the bed was just horrible. This is why 4 star. Would give 1 star for the bed...
E. M.
Quiet comfortable room. Food is average in restaurant. Pool is deceiving - NOT a hot tub despite the pictures. Just jacuzzi jets pushing cold pool water around. Disappointing.
B. G.
I attended a course for 4 daya that was held in this hotel. The restaurant and the food is great. The staff is very nice and kind. The meeting rooms are so convenient for any trainings. Highly recommended
H. S.
Consistent standards from Novotel. I find it annoying that they debit me for the room when I book but don't send the invoice until I leave - gets in the way of expenses over the month end. I booked the second night later than the first and the second night was significantly more expensive...although fell by about £60 during the day that I was preparing to book.
But it is a well run hotel in a great location.
S. T.
I stayed at this hotel with my friends on our first time to London this hotel is amazing! The rooms are excellent and the pool was my favorite! The restaurant downstairs has great good and tasty drinks I would definitely come back to this hotel I’m glad I picked this hotel.
A. L. Ö.
Went there for a training seminar. I was really impressed by the professionalism of the staff. The rooms were perfect for a small training group with SMART projectors. The food and the drinks were always on time. I wish all other venues in London were this good.
A. F.
Good customer service. Very nice and spacious room. Hotel has a good feel to it and is extremely conveniently located. Only slight negative was the breakfast which was average for the rate paid.
T. M.
Enjoyed our stay, nice service, Food at the hotel restaurant was good and so was the Bar. Location is a bit out of the way from City centre but the Underground is convenient to use and hardly a 3min Walk from the Hotel.
A. N.
Very new hotel. Rooms are a good size. The location is near the tube. Area is safe and with walking distance of many restaurants.
Swimming pool and sauna was loved by the family.
Very high tech. Ipads at breakfast table. touch screen games. xbox in front lobby.
Breakfast was very good.
C. P.
The room and the stay was very nice with the exception of the check-in , which despite being pre-booked and pre-paid was unbelievable. Endless mucking about with a laptop and I was forced to hand over my e-mail address only to find, upon my return home, that someone had set me up with a loyalty scheme without my permission. I have searched for about 30 minutes and cannot find any way of cancelling this which is very annoying indeed.
K. W.
Easy check in and checkout. Room and breakfast very good. All staff were excellent and very friendly. Only negative point was there was no dressing table with a mirror (just a desk with no mirror).
T. M.
The breakfast provided by the hotel is hearty, even though a little on the higher side at over 16 pounds per person. Quiet streets at night in this business-y area. Close to river Thames and London Eye. The morning breakfast was great be sure to add it in advance to save.
M. M.
The room is nifty and the pool is a plus but the staff are under-trained and therefore prone to provide inaccurate information. Don't bother with breakfast--unlike breakfast at Sofitels, the in-room service was not presented on a table with flowers but on a tray. The items are not high quality - the yogurt contains aspartame and the juice is from concentrate. And this so close to Borough Market! An expensive disappointment.
Z. W.
room was lovely and quiet, staff were really helpful, sauna was fantastic, pool could have been a bit warmer, bed was too soft and breakfast was nothing special but overall it was great for the night and we would book again
R.
Very nice hotel. It's modern, clean, and in a great location. The breakfast was very good it offered eggs, bacon, pastries, and much more. This will be my go-to hotel in London.
R. C. B.
Nice hotel. Good views from higher rooms. Rooms are clean and modern. Staff where friendly.
B. B.
I like it here, very nice vibe. The in house Bar Jamboree is a very trendy place to do some work in the mornings over a coffee. Excellent customer service, especially at the bar - I think his name is Cristian - he makes the best mochas!
L. s. P.
Lovely stay, staff are very friendly and helpful. Room was really nice, with a view of the shard. Lots of local restaurants
S. M.
My son and I stayed for two nights in May. Everyone at the hotel was really friendly and helpful, even helping us trying to find a lost toy peice on our room floor!
We had a great time!
C. P.
The hotel is well situated near the Southwark station. The room is nice and clean with comfy beds. Hotel staff is very friendly and polite. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely recommend it to others.
W. L.
It was a great experience. The hotel was very clean, modern and quiet. The location of the hotel was extremely close to the tube station and well within walking distance to St. Paul's Cathedral as well.
J. C.
Opened in 2012 the room are spacious and modern.
The new bar and restaurant is cool and rate are not that expensive for an hotel central location.
Go for the happy hour too until 7pm!
J. M.
The room is nice. The staff is wonderful. The pool is really cool. It's in a really good location. I definitely recommend this to anyone travelling abroad.
A. H.
Comfortable hotel in a convenient location - close to Southwark tube station and walkable to many attractions. Utilised pool and gym facilities - breakfast offerings were delicious.
I. H.
I enjoy staying at the Novotel Blackfriars. Great rooms, everything works. Good to work in with electrical sockets in the right place. Nice to have tea and coffee. Beds comfortable. Great place to stay.
C. F.
Nice new hotel, spatious room. Good location 100 m from southwark tube station. Small pool for the kids to relax after a day in london.
R. C.
I liked the Novotel. It was clean, comfortable and convenient. Room was very nice. Had a minor problem with the air conditioning, but it was rectified quickly. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
J. L.
Really nothing to complain about. Stayed here for one night on a buisness trip and everything went as smooth aß possible. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

Comments from the family:

"Swimming pool and sauna are fun."
"It's an alright place to stay."
"Great value for money."
K. W.
Everybody was very helpful ,nice and really trying to make your stay comfortable and pleasant.
Very good location for visiting central London.
Very clean as a whole, lovely pool and breakfast with nice food and great variety.
P. A.
Ideal location for access to the south bank. Very pleasant room - bright, clean and well organised. Excellent breakfast experience with extensive choices and friendly and helpful staff.
J. K.
Room and bathroom excellent. Dont like Southwark but that is not the hotel's fault. Avoid the bar opposite where I got a bad pint that left me ill for several days!
M. M.
We'd like to thank the staff for taking care of my husband. We stayed in your hotel for 6 days and we had a lovely time. We had two adjacent rooms on the 7th floor (room 701 and 702) with a splendid view. The one on the Eye and the other on the large tower called the shard.
Especially your care and concern for my husband when he really got (terribly) ill, made the difference!
Without hesitation you called a taxi, sent us to st. Thomas hospital and you helped us out with the room the last day of our visit in london. That ment the world to us!
My husband is still very ill but he'll make it thanks to the good care of the hospital and the right medicines.
But again, thanks to your help in the first place. Thanks for all your kindness.
Family Maas from Holland.
J. F.
Stayed one night here over last weekend staff were really friendly and helpful rooms were lovely clean and tidy great location as well with great service to would definitely book this hotel again .
n. c.
Lovely room, really friendly staff at the front desk!
G. H.
Nice hotel and pool. We had the best room high up. Only negative is the music in the bar area too loud and not enough relaxing areas like lounge etc
R. M.
I spent one night at the Hotel Novotel, the staff provided a great service and the room was immaculate. This hotel is in a great location and within a short walking distance from the Tube stations.
C. M.
Lovely staff, nice building, had to move rooms to get one with a bath, buy that was easily done. Room service meal was ok. Breakfast was good.
K. T.
The stay was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean.
T. F.
Lovely Hotel, room was amazing. Loved the rain fall shower, makes me want to get one now! Very clean and friendly staff. Will be staying again
A. T.
Excellent facilities including pool, rooms, staff and food. Bar had an interesting theme, perhaps not ideal if you just want to wind down with a quiet drink after a hard day.
P.
A thoroughly decent hotel. Good value for money. We had a suite and a room. Exceptionally clean. Great location. Will 100% stay again.
I. R.
Great hotel, location and great staff, food was excellent, but service Friday evening was very slow, and staff didn't seem to bother with us or food order, though breakfast team were amazing with front of house team
w. a.
Hi we arrived at the Hotel to check in to find i had booked a novotel down the road our children love this one as it has a swimming pool, the receptionist was very helpful & with the help of the manager Francois sorted everything out without fuss very friendly proffessional we were able to relax & enjoy our stay as usual Many thanks to Francois & all the team .

It started very badly. I joined as a member when I booked, as per the website information, but it did not give me the discount. I had to spend 30 minutes on the phone. I then found out that the 10% discount was "up to" 10% which I felt was very misleading. Even after chasing for the 5% discount that should've been applied no apology was made, no further discount given or room upgrade, so not a good first experience of Novotel or Accor. I felt this was unwise given that we need to stay regularly in that part of London over the next few months and there are lots of alternatives.
J. F.
Nice, comfy. Although for some insane reason they've got speakers in the pool. They play music you don't want to listen to that you can only hear when your head is under the water so you can't avoid it while swimming
E. G.
Amazing hotel, beautiful staff TASTY food and cocktails. Lovely room, quirky, fashion forward, defo my type of hotel. We will 100% be back.
E. b.
Good 4 star 🌟 Hotel.
g. l.
Funny glass in bathroom can see through . Spacious dining area. Food smell good . Left my case with my files there. Receptionist kept it for me
S. P.
Amazing staff, clean and modern rooms and a really nice little spa. Breakfast was excellent also by the way. Located in Southwark, just a stone throw away from everything really.
J. W.
Great staff on reception, extremely friendly. Room was great for a family and breakfast was the best! Great stay overall and would certainly stay again.
R. A.
Well appointed room, comfortable bed. Average room service but good breakfast. I would stay again but probably get dinner elsewhere.
R. T.
Staff are friendly. Rooms are always cleaned on time and very neatly done. Nothing fancy hotel but very good to stay at reasonable price
V. R.
Excellent location near Waterloo - good pool & bar area / restaurant. Close to Southbank and a tube station. M&S nearby and a pub opposite. Highly recommend
M.
Great rooms, fancy bathrooms with optional see through glass. Tasty breakfast and dinner. The drinks are a tad expensive, but also very large.
D. G.
Very clean rooms, comfy bed, we even got a power adapter at the reception to borrow for our stay.
D.
Excellent accommodation with excellent service.
Close walking distance to everything.
Nice restaurants close by.

D. S.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Excellent breakfast choice. Children made very welcome. Overall excellent stay. Thank you 😊
K. C.
Enjoyed the stay. I choose this hotel over the other novotel nearer Westminster as I have children and thought the pool would be a good idea. The pool was freezing!
J. R.
Clean, inexpensive and within a privileged location just seconds away from the subway Big Ben and London's Eye. Excellent breakfast selection with fresh ingredients.
R. D.
Perfectly maintained, very helpfull staff, nice and cosy restaurant&bar, good location, what else can you expect from a hotel.

Clean and good-sized rooms! Unfortunately the kitchen wasn't working the day we were there so that was a shame but otherwise nice.
L. H.
Top floor executive room was brilliant. Waterfall shower, Nespresso machine and good view. Staff were very pleasant.
A. 2.
The room was very clean and nice quality, but we thought that it was a lot smaller than what was illustrated on the photograph. But all in all we enjoyed our experience!
M. H.
Lovely hotel, very close to tourist attractions and is also right next to a subway/metro/underground station. The breakfast is also pretty good!

A. B.
Lovely comfortable room and friendly staff. We had a balcony room which had a superb view of the shard.
J. L.
Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome was just upset that when we booked in August we requested a high level room so when booking that far in advanced you would like to think your request would be met like I said before other than that a nice visit but could have been abit more special with that beautiful view
