Recently spent 3 nights here, absolutely 1st class stay. Staff were attentive to all needs and extremely friendly. We will definitely be returning here for our next visit. We can't thank you enough. Our daughter loved it too. Huge thank you!!!!

We weren't staying here, but dropped in for dinner.
Started with the charcuterie sharer, which was excellent if slightly small for two people.
I followed this with the chicken curry which tasted fine but was a little cold and the rice had been microwaved to the very edge of becoming a solid mass.
Beers were good and service was fine

Our stay here was first class from the welcome we received at check in, a clean room with safe, iron and ironing board, to a big choice at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff and Christina in particular helped us by arranging taxis, car parking and generally making our stay a comfortable one. It’s a big hotel but we never felt like just another guest so we would definitely choose to stay here again.

I like it so much! Nice atmosphere good service and great stuff especially those who was working on new years eve on the bar guys all of yuo are amazing!!! Huge thanks and most important thing that you are welcome with your dogs!!!!

It was OK, clean, very comfy bed and large bathroom. Fridge in our room and tescos outside so that's a bonus.
The coffee sachets were nescafe original, which in our house we call.. Wascoffee!! It's awful stuff they could definitely get better.
Also the plug hole in the shower was broken exposing quite a big hole that things can fly down so that needs fixing.
TV wasn't working for around an hour all through hotel however they did fix in within a few hours.
Location is fantastic and the staff are nice.
Breakfast a bit hit and miss as almost everything had gone then after eating some leftover scrambled egg with one slice of ham.. More fresh food came out thd kitchen.. They should inform you of this on arrival!!

We popped in for a quiet meal after visiting a show at Excel and wanted to give a special shoutout to Monique. Our food was delicious and Monique went above and beyond to help me out regarding my allergies. There were lots of gluten free options that were nut free too. Have never stayed over so can't comment on that but anytime we go to a show at Excel in the future, we'll know where to go for a delicious meal. Thank you!

Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Excellent breakfast with lots to choose from. However, under present circumstances, it was rather too crowded and the breakfast bar.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.

We are a family of 4, the room was big and nice, the bathroom was giant, the staff was so friendly and helpful from the reception to the breakfast and bar, the breakfast was also very good, everything you would need, lots of options. The rooms were cleaned every day with clean towels being provided everyday as well. The hotel has amazing views over the city and the Emirates cable car. It was an amazing stay all together. Highly recommended this hotel. We will definitely return to stay here.

This hotel is perfect of you need to fly to the city airport or goto the excel arena. We walked from the airport and it takes about 15 or 20 mins depending on how quick you walk. The staff are friendly, and the hotel was clean and modern. The rooms are spacious and I had an iron, hairdryer, sofa and fridge. The fridge was empty which was disappointing but not the end of the world. The bed was comfy. At about 7am in the morning it sounded like the staff were pulling housekeeping trolleys up and down the corridors which was quite loud and both myself and a friend on another floor were also woke up because of it. The breakfast is £16 and to be honest it was pretty nice. The bar serves basic beers you would expect in a bar or a hotel so don't get excited. Lots of places to sit and lounge but strange that nowhere to plug in laptops but all in all its a decent hotel.

Nice and clean hotel. Great customer service. Only issue I had was the steam room was not working and the temperature control wasn't working in the room.

Difficult to find anywhere that compares to this hotel as the staff are so amazing in terms of service and professionalism. Many times I've stayed and the room, food and service is never short of exceptional.
The food menu is also really good for families and I enjoyed a gorgeous salad, kids had a lovely pizza. We do have great memories here as a family with everything in the world I hope we can return as a family.

Very nice hotel with helpful staff. The room was really lovely and the drinks were great.
Unfortunately it looked like our TV hadn't been tuned since before covid so no channels were working. But I managed to fix that myself with a quick Google search.

stayed here for an extra night in London for our wedding anniversary. We booked a suite which was well worth the money to have the extra room for our daughters. They loved the size of the TV and decor. The staff made us very welcome and special. Breakfast was good quality with adequate choice. The new bar staff member was very attentive and helpful. Overall a good hotel, great location for the excel and O2, cable cars and DLT. Thanks to all the team for making our anniversary special.

I spent 3 days doing a management event and I have to say the service was top class. I have to single out special praise for Sara whose customer service display was superb throughout.

Really surprised by the hotel. Friendly staff, good bonus of a steam room included with the room. Room itself was clean and tidy, comfy bed, plenty of pillows. Complimentary water, robes, shampoo, shower gel & tea/coffee. The room had a hair dryer, iron and ironing board. The room was modern, light and airy. Had a great sleep. Staff were very helpful and the ability to WhatsApp staff was very convenient. The hotel supplied a bandage (gave a range of options) when I was unable to locate one in local shops. Would 100% return.

Very great, the hotel is beautiful, the service was perfect. I also want to thank Audrey for the amazing service during breakfast.

Really liked this hotel, staff where very friendly room was nice and clean, had a good atmosphere. Only down side to the time I went was heavy construction work. An also I'm not very familiar with London and prices in the area but it was quite expensive for food and things.

Have just returned after a weekend break and we cannot praise the staff of this Hotel highly enough. They went the extra mile to make our birthday celebrations special by decorating our room with balloons and writing messages and a card went we got there. Your management should be proud of them and reward them for their work ethics during this unsure period of time we are all living in. The hotel was clean, tidy and even though it was having replacement flooring added in the reception and bar area it was spotless. I cannot wait to return here as it is a great base camp for visiting London with easy connections from the DLR and underground. Keep doing what you do guys I cannot thank you enough.
Kind regards

We used this hotel over a weekend stay in London. The hotel was fine, with very good staff and clean rooms and a fresh breakfast. There was a couple of small niggles however. The hotel advertises onsite parking, this was the main reason I had selected this hotel over the other very many hotels nearby. It seems the parking is not as big and is first come first served, and throughout my stay I was not able to use this facility, I would of preferred if this was mentioned on the website rather than give the impression that there is ample onsite parking. The other thing I was not happy with was the amount of seating in the restaurant later in the evening, it seems inadequate and we could not be offered a table at 20.30, we had to go to a nearby restaurant to eat something, which was not ideal with young children that were tired from traveling all day.

Lovely and friendly staff. The food is great. The bar is stocked well and the rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and perfectly located for the London Excel.

Comfortable hotel with fitness, sauna and steam room facilities.
Very close to the DLR
The cable cars to go across the o2
And uber boat
Taxi firm across the road

Excellent hotel. Service reception room service facilities restaurant staff breakfast everything.
Only complaint from me was the fact that there was no bathroom door lock in our family room!
We had our 1.5 year old son and 6 year old daughter who may have forgotten and walked in on me. Had to bar the door with the table every time. Big inconvenience!

Pretty standard Novotel, nice reception areas and rooms spotlessly clean. Best thing: Very handy for Excel. Quirky thing: weird folded in half pillows. Worst thing: only one power outlet to charge all my devices.
E. O.
We booked to check in at 2pm yet ended up waiting till 3pm for access, we were even forgotten until a manager came to ask if we had been attended to. The bathroom and toilet ventilation systems need some work. Otherwise, free drinks at the bar was an okay compensation for the initial wait. However I advice you claim that extra hour especially if you had time sensitive things to handle.

Perfectly adequate room. Quiet. Comfortable bed. Good bathroom. Splendid breakfast in terrace restaurant overlooking Thames and Excel centre.

I am very pleased with the service provided by the staff especially Aurelia and Alexa. They were very kind and patient and I couldn’t fault anything! Would definitely recommend to all friends and family!

Clean rooms, and beds were comfy enough. The bathroom facilities were dated and needed a refresh. On site restaurant and bar seriously lackluster

We had a wonderful experience! Great customer service from Christina reception staff!!

Hotel is currently going through renovations so there was no carpet in the public areas and noisy. No warnings this was taking place at booking. The room itself was lovely though and the staff were very nice.

Beautiful views and excellent service they even let us check in earlier and later with no charge. The cleaning staff was amazing and so friendly couldn't ask for a better hotel

The hotel is extremely clean and staff are friendly. The views from some of the rooms are amazing. The shower was absolutely fantastic, I would stay here again for the shower alone! It's located close to two DLR stations and extremely convenient if you are going to the O2/Excel.

My family and I had a very nice stay at the Emerald Beach!! Check in was easy, our rooms were very clean. Nice clean bedding, the A/C worked great. The bathrooms were very clean and had plenty of towels. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The beach was nice and there is a big deck and chairs to sit it right off the water.
B. M.
Great coffee / bar area that is nice and not too busy during the day. Great for casual business meetings.
L. M.
The downstairs of the hotel is nice where the bar and restaurant are, however, the rooms are only okay. Considering we were staying while it was 26°C each day and around 18°C at night, fully functioning air-con would've been nice. The rooms are perfectly fine, the beds are comfy enough, but I was not a fan of the layout of the room: the toilet being in a separate room from the rest of the bathroom, thus having to walk to another room just to wash your hands afterwards...
Overall, our stay was fine. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great for access to the ExCeL Centre.
A. S.
Helpful friendly staff, clean comfortable modern rooms, cracking breakfast and in a fantastic location. Facilities are fab.

Stayed at this hotel over a period of 5 days during the earlier part of January 2020. It isn't located at the heart of London City Centre, but it's within easy reach to all parts of London as a DLR station is merely a 5 minutes stroll away.
Check-in and out were a breeze, in fact we were amazed to get our request for a room fronting the beautiful views of the river and Sunborn Yatch Hotel acceded. We have also gotten a free upgrade to an Executive Room and that was simply satisfying.
It's roomy with much spaces for two of us, clean and no less.. We enjoyed our stay here.

Only used facilties (bar&food(buffet)) but was a great service and venue

What a fantastic modern hotel! Room was spacious with comfortable bed. Front desk staff was super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced. Views from the deck were breath taking. Only negative point was the location...it is a little far from the central but it can also be a positive point as it’s far from the noise and the hustle and bustle. I would definitely stay here again.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times during MCM Comic Con, while the rooms themselves are a good size, comfortable beds, okay tvs and definitely great when needing sleep before a busy day they do suffer from sound leaking in. There was a group outside the hotel under the windows and we were quite a few floors up and they kept us up till 2, the food was acceptable, especially their pizzas I'd reccomend them. The staff are really friendly and accomodating, the hotel has a nice atmosphere but overall given the price it's pretty average.

Great new hotel, located just in front of the ExCel exhibition centre , and very friendly staff. Our family room was very clean and quiet. Beautiful view from the terrace.
The breakfast was delicious and complete.
Minor comments : breakfast time until 10am during the week , which is a bit early when on holidays. It takes about 20 minutes by tube to go to Central London (DLR + Jubilee line), which is quite quick. We greatly appreciated our stay in this hotel.

Stayed here on Sat night.
I loved the hotel ,clean and bright foyer. Our receptionist gave us exemplary service, quick to check us in and very knowledgeable about services etc the hotel offers.
The reception area offers massage boots that give a soothing foot and lower leg massage...it was heaven, had just got in from dancing so well needed. Free..
Clean tidy fresh room, superb shower that is massive . Decor was superb. All amenities in room hairdryer ironing board etc. I would have stayed longer had it been possible.
I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Very nice clean space. Views from our room was lovely. Very quiet as well considering lots of planes fly over head. Very close proximity to the Excel centre as well as the Emirates cable line. Food was delicious and arrived very fast( room service). The children had lots to keep them entertained. They went around the vicinity on their scooters, visited the Avengers STATION and made new friends. In all a nice half term break.

Overall had a pleasant stay, staff were very professional, and the deck bar had a great view of the river.
Room was clean and comfortable although felt like it could do with a little maintenance. In particular the sink appeared to have been fitted poorly causing water to pool in it.
Wifi worked well, and the room had a comfortable desk to work at.

Had a really lovely stay here with my partner. Rooms were spacious and had a good view. We had a lovely dinner over looking the river too. Beautiful lobby. Great selection of breakfast. Really helpful staff. We didn't get an opportunity to use the spa. Really happy and attentive staff located in a bright airy reception. Location right next to Excel London so great if you are visiting Excel, but the area is very quiet otherwise. Hotel is in excellent repair with enough to facilities to enjoy your stay. Beds a little too hard to get a good nights sleep!

It was good. The rooms were small, but is so everywhere in Europe. The service was great, courteous and cordial. The breakfast was great and so was room service. Asked for a power plugin adapter for my US power plugs and I was provided with one delivered to my room door personally. The staff were great...I like everything but the drainage of the shower that was kinda clogged and didn't drain well and so there was a big, sometimes overflowing, pool at my feet. And because of that the bathroom stunk the next day. I thought of complaining, but the rest of my stay was nice enough to let this go. They are in the midst of renovations and I am sure they will fix these issues. I recommend them for stay..Oh and the gym was OK with sauna and stuff but there is no swimming pool.

Stayed there for five nights, family of four. Premium room was clean with a nice view, but could be bigger. Bad WiFi connection. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, but the catering staff need to smile more, it costs nothing! Breakfast was OK but they served the same every morning, which was quite boring. Took quite long to deal with complaint about TV not working! The maintenance guy needs serious training in customer service! Other than that we did like the nice location and there are shops and restaurants nearby and it's only five minutes walk to the tube!
T. H.
Room was nice, staff were nice, but we did have a couple of issues. 3 friends (1 female, 2 male) sharing one family room. There was a glass wall between the bathroom and the bedroom- very stylish, little button to make the wall opaque- luckily we tested it first. The opaque screen lasted 2 minutes before turning itself off. We complained, they assured us they would fix it. We went out, came back late evening, tested it again, this time the opaque setting lasted 4 and a half minutes- still not long enough! Complained again, they assured us someone would be up to fix it. We waited 3 hours- nobody turned up but the wall was flickering during this time (fixing it without being in the room??). From then on, it turned on and off randomly and at all times we had to ensure nobody was looking at the bathroom when someone was using it just in case it turned off. The bathroom was also not sound proof- unsure if this was due to the glass wall or the gap between the 2 doors.
Put towels on the towel rack- I am very conscious of the environment, so I assumed they would not be washed- but they were- every day. not a complaint, very nice to have clean ones, but I did think it was a bit of a waste.
The sink didn’t drain properly, had to remove the plug to get toothpaste to drain, but then had to rinse the sink using hands because the tap was right above the sink!
Nice to have 2 shower heads- the option was nice to have.
Sofa bed was very very uncomfortable, but the main bed was very comfortable. Pillows were lovely.
Room wasnt very sound proof- there were people outside the hotel being very loud and even with the window closed we could still hear them.
Air con didn't appear to work- room was very hot. With temperatures in the mid 20's this made sleeping uncomfortable due to the heat.
Even though we booked for 3 people, we were only provided with 2 mugs- we used a glass for a cup of tea one evening!

Nice room Nice staff, great breakfast.

This Property had an amazing view, the hotel was very clean and it had an amazing theme. The check in staff was also very pleasant. However, the service in the restaurant and bar are the worst I've experienced in my history of traveling. They had no protocol, they were rude and upset when they had to serve me, and they never allowed me to keep a tab open. In other words, I had to keep closing my tab after I ordered drinks because "they had trust issues with certain guests". Never again.

Had a pleasant experience at this hotel during a short stay with the family.

We had a great stay at this hotel!
Breakfast was tasty and the room was clean and modern.
Whilst staying here, we also attended a corporate event that was taking part in the bar area. The food laid on was good and the the event went without any problems.
The hotel is located opposite the ExCel Centre for events and has plenty of public transport links.
For a London hotel, the price was competitive.

Arrived with boyfriend for our anniversary, upgraded our room for free of charge. Later that evening lady knocked on our door with plate of cake saying “ happy anniversary “. Loved that , werent expecting at all. Had a lovely stay here , staff were extremely helpful, friendly and polite. When had a problem or needed help with something , staff members arrived straight away. Cleaner was nice and left our room spotless. Very happy with our 3 day stay here, would definitely recommend. Only downside was room service was on the expensive side , but you were allowed to order food yourself from Just Eat or Uber eats etc. Also the shops around the hotel were expensive too , but it’s in London so what do you expect. Overall happy with our stay, would stay again.
J. E.
The hotel was almost perfect. Great beds even better then my bed at home. Nice bathroom with shower and seperate bath. Minibar coffee maker etc very confortable. Very clean rooms. Only things i didnt enjoyed was the toilet. Very small and i missed the sink to wash ur hands. The breakfast was a bit poor. We arrived early. 7.45 am and it wasnt too busy but many baskets were empty. Poor choices of bread. But for the rest i loved the hotel.
J. D.
Stunning views across London from this great hotel. Apart from a delayed check in every thing was excellent. We had tea in the cocktail bar and just looked out of the windows, you're so high up it's brilliant. Well appointed rooms, can't remember how high up we were but it was very impressive. Highly recommended.
J. N.
Excellent service provided by the hotel receptionist. I had left my coat accidentally on the bench and they kindly took it to the lost property. I also realised i had left my bracelet in the hotel room after checkout and the lady kindly let me back into the room to find it. Very clean rooms and sparkling clean. However the sink pipes can be improved. When opening the hot water tap, a very bad odour came from the sink. This may be due to dirty sink pipes that release an odour when met with hot water. Overall it was an excellent experience.

The overall feel on arrival was spectacular, from the car park a lift led us straight into the really large plush looking hotel reception. This led us to a really nice open plan bar with and outdoor terrace that had spectacular view sitting on the docks. I stayed in room 348/49 this is a suite which also had amazing views, looking straight over the docks with a birds eye view of the yacht hotel. The customer service was excellent from all staff, I would definitely stay here again.

I have been there for a weekend with my husband and my 2 kids, the rooms were beautiful, modern and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. We ordered pizza from a pizza corner at the lobby that it's open until 1:00 am! Very tasty!! Kids was playing until late at the kids area while my husband and I were having a foot massage in the free machines place in the lobby.
Amazing experience. Highly recommended!!!

I LOVE the new rooms, really stylishly decorated, clean and great facilities including a proper safe which can hold a 15 inch computer. Lovely bathrooms where the shower water stayed in the shower and not all over the floor, really very comfortable beds and pillows. The food in the restaurant for dinner was also fantastic. The only negatives I have are that the bacon at breakfast was not good at all. There should be more staff on at breakfast as on the two mornings I arrived to eat, there was no one on the desk. The only other big negative is that proper air-conditioning units should be installed, the room was very very hot which made it difficult to sleep!
E. R.
This hotel was amazing. The staff were lovely and very friendly, the room was clean and unique. I loved the different settings that were on the showers. Tye room layout was odd as there wasn't a bathroom but an area instead of a room. Tye food was filling and very tasty.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and would come back again.

I believe I had a refurbished room, it was comfortable and stylish, and warm on a wintry day in East London.
The bar was expensive but that seems to be becoming the norm in UK hotels, food was more reasonable and adequate, service throughout was good.
Super handy for Excel if you are attending an event there.

The Staff were fantastic always had a smile and were incredibly helpful, the Food was amazing the pizza piccante was a dream and the thin cut fries were the perfect crunch.
the rooms well thats where it continues to be amazing I felt like i should of payed an extra 200 for the weekend they were lovely. spacious plenty of room never felt cramped and the shower was amazing i could of stayed in it all weekend.
overall if i could of left a 6th star I would of

Service was second to none and nothing was too much trouble.
We organised two rooms for four of us In April as it was a special occasion for our Mother.
Right from the start the staff could not have done more to help us. Especially the receptionists and waiting staff of the restaurant. My Mother is unable to eat heavy meals at night and therefore has only cereal; this was no trouble to the waitress serving us on both nights.
I would recommend this hotel in particular, although we have stayed in Accor hotels all over Europe, this was possibly the best yet.
M. S.
Yes really enjoyed our stay. The hotel had a nice open feel about it. Lots of glass windows gave it a bright airy feel and having breakfast was really nice overlooking the Thames. The Young girl Diana who showed us to our table each morning was always very nice and greeted us with a big warm smile and asked how we were. found all the staff to be very helpful but Diana stood out. If our convention is at the Excel next year we will be booking again! Weldon to the Novotel !!!!
C. P.
Really nice hotel, the area has some great restaurants and it's a few minutes walk to the Emirates airline. Hotel rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice, the reception area and bar comfortable and spacious. Drinks prices were extremely high even for a London hotel.
R. H.
Rating based on status as 4* hotel and deluxe room.
Have seen quite a few Acor/Novotel locations.
This is definitvly from a design and functionality point of view one of the the best seen. The floor with receptions/bar/pizzeria/restaurant etc is spacious.
Deluxe room big enough , again nice modern style. I did espacialy like the shower with the glas tajt can be switched to non view-through. Media with plugs for video/hdmi/usb (with charger). A Bose bluetooth speaker was an excellent idea.
I don‘t like the trend to limited content in minibars, but see that more and more often.
Didn‘t use wellness/fitness/garage. Loaction is waterfront with a nice view from the trace and I guess part of the rroms, mine was to the landside. Way to the DLR is 3 minutes by foot.
Staff was friendly and fast.

I thought the Hotel looks good. Has a great atmosphere. Rooms are different but good size. There are a few downsides or improvements to be made. Firstly rooms should be made warmer. The temperature reading level could be made higher so that it can be adjusted to individual tastes.
Also another thing is that one of the rooms had a sink right next to the bed. Did not like this arrangement. Prefer sink to be within the confines of a bathroom. Breakfast could be priced much cheaper and some staff need to be attentive and serve guests better. When checking out there was a long queue and only 2 staff checking customers in or out. There were 4 counters and this needs to be addressed. Also some customers decided to jump queue which is wrong and there needs to be staff telling people not to do that and signs to reflect that. Apart from those issues that need sorting, i think it is a good hotel for people to stay in.
R. H.
Top hotel at a reasonable price. Quiet and comfortable.

Overall, a very pleasant stay since Day 1 of stay. Room was always clean. Breakfast was good. Wi-fi speed and ease of access was outstanding. But can be better if there were welcome drink/free bottled water in the room on Day 1. Also there was no shoe shine/wipe.

A very new hotel opposite the O2 in London, and we booked here for the night before a concert.
All looks wonderful on the outside and the inside, and on the whole I was not disappointed.
Few interesting points to note.
It is not so easy to get to by tube. The day we arrived there were works going on so we had to get off on a different side of the station and had to clamber over bridges to get to the entrance. A few signs from the tube would not go amiss. The staff member who checked us in seemed to have limited English skills. Whilst I appreciate the multi lingual nature of the hotelier industry and society in general one would have thought it would be a necessity for this type of role so check-in took a while to get through. She was also rather frosty. The other staff I must say more than made up for her in terms of their warmth and hospitality.
Our room was nice although rather compact for a three figure sum, and we slept very well. Breakfast was pretty good and the view was spectacular.
If our arrival, check-in and room experience had been better I would be rating five stars but still four stars is still pretty good and I suspect we will be back to this hotel for another concert in the future.
I forgot to add, not sure how accessible it would be from the tube. If you have mobility issues I would suggest a cab. The hotel itself is very accessible as was the room.
P. O.
I had a superior room which had excellent design and facilities, including a Nespresso machine which was a nice touch. The reception area was very modern and clean.
The only downside was that the hotel bar doesn't exactly have the greatest selection of drinks, and the breakfast buffet while having a great selection it wasn't clear that I could for example, order a poached egg fresh. Also I'm a massive scrambled egg fan, and these eggs just seemed yellow, grainy and tasted a bit bland.
P. P.
I went for a business trip and the hotel was very good. The service at the restaurant and bar was really good. I wanted to charge my phone and the member of staff that was there on Friday 12th May around lunch time gave me a portable charger which I used whilst having my Pizza. The Pizza was really nice also, but filling. The same member of staff packed the last two slices away for me! Worth visiting on a personal level.
I would say, the car parking needs to be improved. There is only one ramp and my car was almost blocked in because there were too many vehicles in. Although the security is very good for the car park with the shutters.
The toilet and bathroom are separate and would be ideal if they were in one room. I had to use the toilet and walk around to wash my hands. Other than that my room was really nice and can tell it was well looked after.

Nice pleasant experience with good breakfast. The Pakistani girl on reception was very very helpful, and went out of her way to ensure we had a good experience. We were in a queen size room which was nice although the bathroom wasnt very spacious.

This is a wonderful location for conferences or events at the Excel. If you are purely planning on staying for the event, this is one of the best in the area. This hotel is within 5 minute walking distance the Excel a photo attached of the event site is the view from my window.
The only reason why I marked down a star is due to the fact that in my room I have a pipe or maintenance noise that sounds like a table being dragged across a tile floor. This noise, (and 6 hour jet-lag) has made sleeping almost impossible as if "sounds-off" randomly every 5-20 minutes. As I diagnosed this noise and non-sleeping issue a couple of days ago (leaving tomorrow) I decided to keep my room and tough-it-out.
I also noticed that in the shower area I have had what I believe to be shampoo sticker(s) (one fell off when I touched-it) since day one. The room has been "cleaned" daily, though the stick remains.
The shower is a bit of an issue as well. Regardless of using the top or side shower head I have to do a "shower shuffle" (while avoiding to get soap in my eyes and not slip) each time I shower that consists of rinse, water off (completely), use my foot as a squeegee to the drain (which I end-up completely removing) and repeat the entire process up-to 3 times a shower to prevent flooding onto the bathroom floor. The stepping town on the floor for the shower ended up getting saturated regardless of my "shower shuffle" efforts each time.
The outlet in the bathroom is not a Type-G so when getting ready in the morning I had extreme difficulty blow-drying my hair with lighting and mirror that was not in the bathroom. Each location in the room that had an outlet and mirror had terrible lighting. I made-due, however that was a challenge and I did not get a desirable look while at the conference.
One nicety about the room was the hot water/tea-pot! I attached a picture for reference. It looks extremely lame, however it heats-up within 1-2 minutes to a steamy temperature! Due to the lack of efficient devices now-a-days I am extremely excited when devices exceed expectations.
The redeeming qualities to this hotel are the service which is top-notch! The concierges are extremely helpful and if you are not able to sleep during the night they will allow you to utilize the super-cool extremely awesome hot chocolate/coffee machine that is self-serve in the restaurant! I appreciate the little things in life and love sweets! This machine made a perfect mug of hot chocolate with foam that came right to the top of the mug with only one touch of a button. The other extremely wonderful complimentary service is the foot/leg massage machines near the elevators! After a long day of standing at the conference both days I was able to sit and relax while getting my feet and calf(s) massaged! There are 3 machines total located in the seating area next to the elevators.
I gave this hotel four stars even though I had issues sleep due to noise, the sticker, and the "shower shuffle" the staff did everything they could to accommodate. The location was ideal for the need (conference), and they facility was at the quality of this level.

Stayed in London for a conference and the organisation booked us the Ibis Budget, however due to a lack of Double Rooms we were upgraded to the Novotel as it was under the same parent company.
We arrived at the Novotel late at around 1am and were exhausted, so we parked in the hotel car park (£16) attached to the building, guess it was wise choice due to the snow.
The hotel Receptionists (especially Ben) were absolutely fantastic and extremely helpful, and handled the transfer from the Ibis Budget to the Novotel very efficiently.
As we were hungry we thought we get something to eat from the kitchen before heading off to bed, even though the kitchen had just closed the Chef George was extremely helpful and was able to prepare something for us to eat.
The room was of a good professional standard as expected of a 4 start hotel. I believe the shower could have had a better design as some of the water went on to the floor, but the bathroom was very nice.
The next morning we had one of the most relaxing breakfasts you can have in a hotel.
Overall I believe the Customer service was what the made stay so enjoyable
P.S – Did actually stay at this hotel for work 2 years ago also and from what I can remember that was also a pleasant stay.
Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying travelling near London excel. Or if you are travelling to London and want to stay in a nice hotel but don’t want to pay over the odds in central London. Just be prepared it’s quite a drive from Central London.

Worth the price for bed and breakfast. Though the breakfast menu was the same for the three days that we stayed there . They should at least put add remove a couple of items .Rooms were good . However the bathroom glass had to Be tinted using a button inside which made no sense . The staff here are friendly . We enjoyed our stay here .
G. S.
Our stay was made 5 star because of the staff. It was my wife's 50th birthday and Sahara and the staff went a full mile to make my wife feel special . The room we had had stunning views and the bed was very comfortable. Well done Novotel
D. P.
Good location for excel and easy transport into centre. Nice veranda overlooking the river. A sun trap. Helpful and pleasant staff. Didn't try the food but the pizza did smell nice. Slightly pricey for the standard but probably paying for location. Very clean and quiet during sleeping hours.
V. R.
It is ok hotel but I would say only three star quality. Rooms fine, breakfast ok. Location good for Excel and maybe O2 but otherwise cannot recommend. Public transport from Heathrow takes almost two hours. Price and quality does not match.
Few examples: toilet was not fully functional (small flush did not work), cabinet door was not working fully (touched the cabinet), no cleaning under the bed (I found previous customer plastic bag).

This is the third year we have stayed at the Novotel while attending our three day convention. It is an excellent location for the Excel. The rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished. The beds are very comfortable. The shower room is spacious and well equipped. Extras like a safe, fridge and iron and ironing board are useful. The breakfasts are well presented and well cooked. The service is professional. The bar and restaurant areas are welcoming and spacious. We also have family members who stay with us, as well as friends. We notice the same people returning each year, and other friends coming to this hotel who previously used different hotels for the convention.

I have been before but the room this time was more updated. Spacious. The shower was amazing and bed comfy. Breakfast fee needs reviewing-too expensive so did not eat. There needs to be at least someone English on reception. Found it hard work to communicate this visit than before.
E. C.
We had a great stay: we had a clean, comfortable and attractive room with all the facilities we could need. The breakfast was good quality and comprehensive in a great setting. Fiona on reception was probably the most helpful and friendly member of hotel staff we have met anywhere!
M. s.
Loved the customer service, the rooms were just as clean as I expected then. Couldn't have asked for anything more to be honest. Would definitely recommend this specific hotel
S. Q.
Beautiful hotel with spotless room and friendly helpful staff. Gorgeous views across the Thames and so handy for the O2 arena. Also a minutes walk from several DLR stations which connect to all the main tube lines. Had made hotel aware my companion was celebrating a birthday and on the night we arrived they sent a chocolate cake and beautiful birthday message to our room. Would recommend without any hesitation
Y. E.
Sahara from guest relations made our wedding anniversary the best one yet. We got upgraded to amazing suite with some treats and decorations in the room. It was perfect. Also the food from the restaurant and breakfast was excellent .
I. C.
It was AMAZING!
1. The beds were comfortable.
2. The layout of the room was beautiful and looked just like a home.
3. The breakfast was delicious.
4. The leg massagers were so relaxing and amazing!!
5. The staff were lovely.
6. There were enough chargers to charge everybody's phone.
7. The shower was cool because you could make people see you or make people not while you are in the shower/ on the toilet.
8. There was a place for everything to go (wardrobe, cupboards, bed side tables and a desk)
The only down side was that there was only one channel on the TV. And that my relatives had a bit more bouncy bed.
You will enjoy going to Hotel Novotel London
M. M.
Nice hotel, clean, nice layout of the room (Superior Room, 1 Queen Bed) on the 5th floor. Not much views though and a little noisy once the London City airport kicks off 6.45 am. Breakfast not included in the regular price.
The WiFi was very good. The speeds were about 40-50 MB/s which is outstanding for a hotel this size. The room has a nice little fridge that came in handy. The shower was working perfectly. The air-con was a little noisy but can be turned off.
Came by car so used their car park which is quite small but secure.
Taking away a star for lack of breakfast included AND no bloody power sockets next to the bed. Felt like Novotel was channelling Travelodge.
j. D.
Staff all very helpful, quiet room, easy check in and out, bar staff efficient and breakfast very good.
Sadly The big let down was both the service and quality of food in the upper deck restaurant.
With hardly anyone in the restaurant on Friday evening, the waitress was slow and disinterested, for example having to be asked twice to take our order for desert.
One evening two of us waited 51 minutes for the main course after having chased it twice, and ultimately one of our friends decided she couldn't wait any longer and went to her room at 9:05. No offer was made of a complimentary drink whilst we waited or to scratch the item from the bill, just a bowl of peanuts!
When the meals did arrive I simply said I was not paying for either which was duly accepted by the waitress.
Each evening We ordered from the 'a la carte' menu.
the fish and chips were ok on the Thursday, on Friday the pork ribs along with the chips were warm rather than hot, , the bakewell tart tasted as if it had been microwaved instead of heated in the oven, then on the infamous Saturday evening the chicken burger was bland and unseasoned with...... warm chips.
Such a shame when everything else was so good, including the breakfast and the staff who were on duty each morning and all so helpful and accommodating.
L. B.
We've been there for three days: First day we ordered breakfast in our room and they charged us for 11 pounds and was ok(we ordered pot of milk pot of coffe and croissants every day), the second day we ordered the same and they told us it wasn't possible to serve the same breakfast at the same price, because even if we would have ordered the same we would have been charged for 16 pounds...third day..same order, different receptionist, they charged us for 5.50 pounds.
You should expect your breakfast to be served after 40 45 minutes from the moment you order it.
The hotel is nice overall, but has a really poor service, the empoyees at the reception don't know what they are doing... problems with check in (our flight was delayed and we arrived late, because of that our room wasn't cleaned up all day), problem with room service, house keepers unable to speak english....
Despite all the above, I have to mention the willingness, professionalism and politeness of the italian girl we luckily found at the reception. She was by far and away the best of all.
R. P.
Really nice hotel, always excellent staff and very accommodating. Quality rooms, clean and well equipped. Also gym and spa available. Pizza good to get in the evenings if need a quick bite. Only down was bar was painfully slow when busy, but literally the only negative I can give when everything else is excellent. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting the Excel
K. L.
Perfect location for the Conference Centre.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Meeting room set up, availability, suitability, and experience with staff was excellent.
My only complaints are:
1) the rooms are too hot
2) the keys frequently didn't work in the doors
3) you promised to email me an invoice and you have not done so - so I cannot claim back my expenses!
B. P.
Overall: very smooth. The hotel was clean, modern and well designed. The car park (which cost £16 extra per night) was part of the building and I was able to leave the car there for a few hours the day of my departure, after checking out, with no extra charge. There was a slight mix-up of the rooms on registration but staff were friendly and responsive and sorted it in no time. I’d recommend it.
Y. K.
After arrival from a long flight to London from Singapore, upon entering the hotel I was very pleased
that the check-in to my room was seamless and fuss free. The other pleasant experience surprised me was that my upgrade room was huge and cosy with good view over looking the canal.
Staff that I encounter were all very helpful.
Thank you for such making my stay memorable .
C. K.
Excellent quality hotel, great rooms great staff. The rooms are of an excellent standard - fantastic views onto dock. Bar food - OK. Breakfast - excellent. 5 minutes walk from DLR station which will get you into central London changing at canning town and picking up jubilee line.
O. J. D.
Great hotel, very friendly staff. We booked the suit, which was actually not very expensive, but worth it. Very specious with a great view over the docks. If you travel with kids there is nothing better than Novotel.
Close to the Emirates cable car that takes you directly to the millennium dome. Great area to stay.
Center of London is reached easily by train or cable car and boat.
A. P.
I booked our hotel for the London triathlon weekend , normally the triathlon falls on or near my husband birthday , so i did another booking to extend our stay ,anyway long sorry short .... we were up graded to a fabulous suite for the whole stay.
Priscilla was amazing checking us in and sorted all the various booking references number out .
we were always greeted with smiley faces and all staff very helpful and with looking after our bikes.
They have a car park that can be accessed via the hotel which was great this year as it was raining cats and dogs!
Michael the Manager greeted us each morning in the breakfast room (as well as many other guest )
I highly recommend this hotel for all the staff positive attitude , smiles and helpfulness, thank you
z. m.
everything was great. the room was very clean. the breakfast was fresh. finally the excellent stuff that made our stay great . ... always with smiles on their faces. ready to help & high standards of sirvece , especially Priscilla...she was so nice that we'll remember her every time we talk about our visit to london

We were visiting Excel for a couple of days, hence we chose to stay close to the centre, but then you have to pay a premium and the hotels and restaurants know that and to some extent they capitalise on it as reflected in their prices. If I had been able to I would have stayed further away and got the same level of comfort for a lot less in monies.
Saying that our room was very comfortable, but the air conditioning was not that effective as although the fan was working no matter what I did I couldn't get the temperature to go down.
I would also say, don't bother with the upgrade offer, as the extra £25.00 / night just for a Nespresso machine, couple of coffee capsules, slippers and a towelling robes is not worth it.
But overal a nice hotel and the staff were very pleasant, plus the Gin club is a nice touch.
I. N.
Very nice rooms, efficient staff and the food in the restaurant was tasty.
F. T. T.
Stayed overnight. Staff are very polite and well mannered.
Aircon is too weak for a hot summer night.
No hot water in shower when we woke up Sunday morning.
Breakfast was good. My kids enjoyed it.
Nice hotel. Good location. Disappointed that the DLR at royal docks was under maintenance during our stay so that information would have been useful before we came...
R. M.
Modern design and good connectivity in the rooms but family room a but small. Not too impressed with reception staff's indifference but maybe we were unlucky on the day. Good breakfast but didn't have evening meal, room was too hot despite adjusting the controls and soundproofing not as good as expected.
T. F.
Superb hotel, excellent staff
H.
I really enjoyed my stay here of 3 nights and four days. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was nice and bed was extremely comfortable. Bathrooms were clean. Breakfast was also delicious and they have a large choice. Just the breakfast buffet was a but cold at times. But would go back there again if I need to stay in the area.
N. H.
I only stayed one night as I was at a conference at the ExCel. The refurbished hotel and rooms look great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good and I enjoyed the view. Room was lovely - I especially liked not having white towels, and also having a separate (albeit small) toilet was a nice touch.
R. B.
The hotel looks great and modern and the location in the Excel neighbourhood is nice. Short taxi drive to London centre costs 20 - 25 pounds.
But unfortunately we are not very statisifed because:
- We booked a 4 person familyroom but didn't expect just a basic room with an extra very small bed. How can we have a comfortable stay with just 3 square meters left and a tiny bathroom?
- Extra costs for parking 48 hours: 40 pounds!
- Breakfast had reasonable quality but not as good as you might expect in such a big hotel.
A. A.
Stayed 2 nights on business with a colleageun at the end of August. The hotel had been recommended by a friend and certainly lived up to his recommendation. A great hotel. Very modern. light and airy and clean. Great breakfast, and pizza in the evening. George, the bar man, was really good and we enjoyed meeting him. Would definately stay again and highly recommend.
Z. H.
We always enjoy staying at Novotel hotels, we find its very good value quality customer service throughout the whole stay.
Although this last visit we did experience some rather unwanted disturbance, which we later realised may have been actually some works going on next door to our room - number 447.
Were not entirely sure if it was works going on or the cleaner as we did notice a cleaner also nearby after we went for our breakfast.
There was no advance warning for this level.of noise and we did book with our 1 year old baby so it was rather disgruntling for all of us.
I appreciate we were due to leave that day nonetheless it was quite early when this banging noise had started.
L. A.
Went for a professional event at the excel. Great location and clean well presented hotel. Staff efficient and friendly. The room was nice enough though a little basic. Weirdly had the toilet in a separate room (with no sink) to the shower/bath.
S. O.
High end bar, great atmosphere and lots of fun
L. J.
Helpful reception staff, especially Jordan (I think that was her name) who sorted out our tricky booking situation without a fuss, which was much appreciated after a long day! Clean and modern room and hotel, would recommend.
P. M.
Enjoyed the stay. Nice room shame about 'Nescafe' coffee as last time I stayed here we had a Nespresso machine.
Breakfast room quiet, so could sit in a good choice of places. Hot food was not that hot, but okay. Had an amazing evening meal which really was top class.
All the staff friendly and seemed happy. Good location. Good hotel. Thank you.
J. S.
Great location for the EXCEL. They were redecorating which is good but construction work was very loud. Presume the outcome will be great and done within the next months, so should not be an issue if you book later in the year (now may 2017). My stay 2-3 stars but when this is done and with location in mind 3-4 stars. But please start making real scrambled eggs for breakfast we do not want any of that powder cheap tasteless cr.p.
D. C.
Our arrival was made easy by a friendly and well informed staff. The layout of the hotel in general suited us perfectly for the purposes of our brief visit to London and the room was neat, clean and furnished in an efficient, relaxing modern style. Nothing at all would put us off contemplating returning to this hotel in the future. Just one little thing. We didn't really "get the hang" of the pillows on the otherwise comfortable double bed.
M. O.
The recently refurbished room is fantastic! really modern and comfortable, nice powerful shower and modern facilities. staff really friendly, great food and room service. one of the best hotel stays i have had this year, beating some 5 star hotels in london!
only feedback - 'minibar' with only water is chargeable but no prices or notice to warn you of this. water is usually free in such hotels. and no instructions / booklet on how to use the media hub (blue tooth etc) or hotel facilities.
J. W.
All aspects of our stay were of a good high standard except that the air con was poor. The room became very stuffy during the night. The shower tray filled up when the shower trap was in and the controls are fiddly. Apart from the points I've mentioned the hotel and room were extremely clean, the staff helpful and the breakfast very good.
M. R.
Very friendly hotel which we booked for a night, view was lovely and it was reasonably priced for a London hotel at short notice. Room was amazing and bathroom was clean and spacious. Ordered room service and staff were very helpful. Would absolutely recommend for its great staff, rooms and location!
E. P.
My family and I are really happy we eneded up staying here. Good service. Very polite staff. Good size family rooms. Clean and well prepared room. Good breakfast. One of the best locations to stay while in London. I am very impressed by the quality and kindness staff provide.
J. E.
Great located hotel in a quiet area of London Excel (Zone 3) and 5min walk to the DLR train station and a train that takes you into central London or Stratford international and 7min walk to the Emirates cable cars that take you across to the O2 Arena and the North Greenwich tube stop on the Jubilee Line. Good restaurants around the area but not much choice, but you can take the cable car to the O2 which has a number of good restaurants. The hotel was nice and clean, very helpful front desk staff. Our room was very hot the first two nights but the hotel were able to fix the problem and it was cooler. But not air conditioning cool. The hotel is family friendly, they have a small play area for kids and a gaming table that’s like a tablet that kids can play different games on. The food is very good too.
A. ..
Great place, in a great landscapes.
Personell well prepared, really kind.
Good and clean room, with a good view of the tam.
Personally i do not advice you the breakfast, because as far as i concern , it's not in Novotel Style. Too little and not wide range of choice.
W. C.
Clean and spacious room (we had a superior room) with friendly staff. Great connection to the O2 via the Cable Car but it does stop running relatively early so beware of needing to get a tube or taxi back across the river! Breakfast was a standard Novotel breakfast, however, lacking in the fruit area with just apples, oranges and grapefruit being on display.
G. C.
Absolutely wonderful. Excellent location on the water with very convenient access to DLR and the Emirates Air Line to the O2 and Underground station. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Food top notch. Room was clean and very comfortable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
L. D.
Very good location for the London ExCel. Check in was fast and the reception staff helpful.
The room was a good size, clean, modern and quiet at night.
Breakfast was buffet style with full cooked and continental food, lots to choose from and of good quality.
M. G.
Good location if going to ExCel other than that it's all just fine. Don't like the reception being up on the first floor with a either a narrow curvy staircase to access or a slow lift. Rooms are reasonable size and clean but only one spare power socket behind the TV. The toilet in the room is in a weird place and a tight fit to get in and out of even for average size.
P. A. r.
It was a lovely experience, nice location and very clean the bathroom is excellent with the latest technology that makes it romantic. The only thing is the £18 expensive parking over night. Which I believed it's a bit expensive. Apart from that everything was ok. Staffs ok
B. C.
Great experience, except for the shower. If you are going to stay in this hotel, please be very very careful with the whole shower/bathroom area as it's incredibly slippery (both shower and floor), and a single drop of water can be a potential cause of a hazard. They warn you on a tiny sticker on the mirror that there are bath mats available if you ask at the reception, but if you ask, you may end up with someone apologising and bringing you two towels to put on the shower instead of the bath mat, only after we insisted quite a bit that a bath mat showed up, but unfortunately too late as the worst had already happened, because I actually had an accident while having the shower and hurt my knee quite badly right on the first day... And had to be bed bound instead of going to the Expo. The reason why I don't give a lower score is because of the staff on the hotel, that is really courteous and professional and are ready to help (on what they can), the first room that they gave us (723) was definitely not properly checked before assigning to a customer, the latch on the window was not in place and it seemed like the window had been forced to the point that could not close properly, so anyone could open the window fully and that is definitely an health and safety issue when you are on a 7th floor, and on the sofa there was some very very suspicious stains that I don't even want to think about what it could be. I've complained at the reception and they promptly changed us to another room and even asked if we needed help to change our luggage from one room to the other. I will finish my review with a note for the management, next time you refurbish the rooms, please make sure that you use anti-slip tiles/shower trays to avoid accidents and that you think of the functionality of the shower room and not only on how it looks, also please make sure that you have shower mats available at the rooms to avoid accidents like mine. Also a quick win is if you can make sure that all the rooms are properly checked and up to standards (both cleanliness and h&s) before assigning them to the next customer.
S. J.
The staff were extremely friendly, the only one bad experience was the restaurant where the waitress seemed to think it may be a bit too expensive for us and made that abundantly clear, which I would add was only the once that it happened and just goes to show you should never judge a book by it's cover.
Overall the impression made on us by the staff, building, was so great that we have tried to book next years stay for the 23rd of may as we decided whilst there that we are going to get married, regrettably you won't let us book and we are afraid of losing the room we want.
If you are asking about if we are coming back then that is a whole hearted yes yes yes. Loved the place and can't wait to hopefully see you next year.
A. L.
I often stay here for it's close proximity to the Excel centre and the good quality of rooms. This was no exception. There was a bit of trouble when two sets of key cards we were given didn't work for our room, and when we did finally get in it was the wrong type of room. Both of these issues however were quickly and professionally dealt with by the lovely staff.
J. B.
Overall a nice stay, myself and friends had a long weekend down in London for a convention, nice sized room with the sofa bed away but does start to get a bit tight when it's beds out but it's still manageable, the breakfast buffet is nice and has a wide selection but is pricey at around £16. My only negative from my experience is the bar staff and their attitude, they where not very polite in the slightest and looked half arsed to be there. Picture is from the balcony at the side of the bar
S. T.
Great hotel and upgraded to a suite. Fantastic view of dock and airport. Didn't hear the planes very much at all. Only few minutes walk from the DLR and Airline cable cars. If you prefer to stay out of the center this is a good hotel. Also some excellent restaurant very close by.
I. F.
Good location within minutes of the DLR. Clean friendly hotel in a lovely dockside setting. Excellent breakfast and rooms recently upgraded and refurbished to a high standard. Reasonably priced and the reception area nicely laid out, modern and well presented.
E. A.
We went for our anniversary! Was amazing!Warm welcome, explaining everything at our check in time with a smile! Staff at the bar and restaurant friendly and professional. Hotel was clean and the room had great view of the dock.
J. K.
The hotel it’self is fine. A good clean spacious room. Price is ok given it’s location near the airport and excel.
My only issue is the breakfast specifically the coffee. It’s not good. Cold and over brewed.
If it’s were not for the coffee 5 stars.
N. G.
The staff were all friendly and welcoming.
The reception and bar area is spacious and open, the rooms are clean and tidy and well furnished. Absolutely nothing to complain about.
Would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking at going to the Excel or the O2, or even if you just need somewhere to stay in London. It's a 5 minute walk to Royal Victoria DLR station and then a 5 minute ride to Canning Town to pick up the Jubilee Line.
E. N.
Brilliant location, right next to the DLR and the Excel. Room was really nice, plenty of space in the family room we stayed in. There was even a mini fridge - the bottled water in it is a bit steep but the fridge itself is so useful. The food is also very nice, not the cheapest but good quality and tasty.
S. D.
Great hotel in a nice location.
The staff were all helpful and polite. Our room was spacious and very clean. Would definitely stay again
J. h.
I like the reception area (open and spacy) very much. The staff was very kind and helpful. The view over the Royal Victoria Dock (artificial lake) is stunning. I further received a nice room, which I was told had been recently refurbished. It's very close to London City airport (max. 10 min. by taxi).
K. B.
Good front desk, good, modern, clean comfortable rooms. Disappointing breakfast service with virtually no customer interaction. Lots of staff all too busy doing jobs that probably needed doing but not a single member of staff stopped to offer tea or coffee or ask if everything was OK.
T. M.
We had previously stayed in this hotel back in February 2015 and we were seriously impressed. Special mention to bar ***ager Lianna and bartender Teodoraboth took great care of us. The hotel had plenty of amenities to suit most people. Location good for access to custom house and Royal Victoria DLR stations.
C. D.
Good 4* Novotel, clean and comfortable, was upgraded as platinum member but was promised a suite and when i arrived only given upgraded room.
I must say that this room was OK, but if they cant upgrade you to a suite then dont promise it, whilst i would have been happy with the exec room, not getting something offered earlier on an email was a little dissapionting
J. C.
The staff are very friendly. My room was not totally clean, I am empty coke bottle on the floor but everything else seems ok. There are not many plug sockets in my room. Food so far seems quite good.
M. H.
Nice venue. Perfect for the Excel and Docklands Railway.
P. A.
Room was excellent, modern and comfortable. Breakfast was odd. "Sit anywhere", but none of the visible tables had been relayed after the previous customers, and then instead of doing it once properly after we sat down, bits would appear only after we prompted then yet again. Food was good.
T. K.
Very nice, clean and modern hotel. Very comfortable, quick check-in and the breakfast is really good too! Stayed on the top floor and we had a really nice view, would definitely like to come back!
C. A.
Excellent service, comfortable beds and most rooms have sofa beds. Great location if you are on business in Canary wharf and cheap option if you are on holidays as it has good connection to DLR (5 min walk to Royal Victoria Station) and is only 30 min to get to Buckingham Palace.
A. B.
Great location for events at the London excel, feeling rooms large and spacious with large single beds and both a bath and a shower. Toilet is separate to bathroom with sink. Plenty of desk and seating space and plenty of towels provided. Toiletries provided were very good compared to a lot of hotels. Cooked breakfasts were very nice, especially the hash browns and good quality sausages. Close to airport and loud planes flying by regularly.
K. O.
It went mostly pretty well. We were assigned a handicapped room, which was not my first choice. The handle on the door to the bathroom fell halfway off during the week, and even though I showed the maid the problem, nothing ever happened. The toilet didn't work very well, and would drip very noisily at night - had to shut the door. The air conditioner/heater didn't work at all, so I had to leave the window open to get cool air, which was noisy with the planes overhead. Generally, the hotel feels old and in need of an update. The breakfasts were good.
T. M.
Having just arrived home ,I'm fully relaxed from my stay at Novotel ExCel. The staff greeted us with a very warm welcome. The view from the room was brilliant and the hotel is right next to the cable car and we had fun riding on that a couple of times.
G. M.
My initial experience in scheduling was poor. My secretary made the reservation. We found over a month in advance that I would arrive a day later than planned and leave a day later. When we contacted the hotel we were not allowed to reschedule. We were forced instead to leave the initial reservation and just eat the first day and to schedule an entirely separate one day reservation at the end. This process was frustrating, confusion, time consuming and impersonal. I have ever experienced such inflexibility, particularly when working so far ahead of a booking.

I was very happy with my two nights at the hotel. Staff was friendly, rooms clean and comfortable. I also liked the food, both breakfast as well as snacks and lunch at the bar.
I would recommend this hotel, especially if you are visiting ExCel London, the location is simply fantastic!
S. B.
This hotel offers wonderful rooms, the bathroom is exceptional.
A shower with a choice of 2 showerheads, rain shower, or regular showerhead.
Amazingly comfortable beds.
The location is excellent if you are attending the Excel conference center.
K. D.
When we arrived at approximately 9pm we were given our room key. When we got to our room it had not been made-up and was still as the previous guests had left it. This was very surprising and disappointing and meant we had to go back down to the reception area. We spoke with a manager, Chloe, who offered us an alternative room but this was not suitable as it had a double bed and a sofa bed instead of being a twin room like we requested. So we waited for our original room to be prepared.Chloe offered us a drink in the bar while we waited and we took her up on this offer. I was disappointed that we were assigned a disabled access room as the shower and bathroom area really was extremely basic. To be honest I expected a bit more luxury for my money.

Great place to lodge in London if you are coming here for vacation. Location is very strategic and you get a good view of most parts of the city. The staff are quite friendly and the hotel amenities are cool.
A. W.
I enjoyed my stay and would return in the future however I was disappointed with the actions of individual staff.
The manager of the bar (Saturday evening 26/8/17) requires customer training in reference to his attitude when serving. I recall I received the same attitude when I visited in 2016 he was quite rude with an uninterested care of service.
On checking out the receptionist did not believe I had paid when I checked in, so I showed payment confirmation from my mobile phone via the banking app, she then had the audacity to scroll through my account details. I was very upset about that, had I known she was not to be trusted I would not have handed my phone to her.

The lovely gentleman Levi attended to us with great customer service, he was a superstar, very attentive, polite and made us have such an amazing experience. He def8nitely deaerves a promotion!!!! The hotel was clean and very tidy with a vibrant and relaxing environment. I definitely recommend this hotel it looks over the excel centre aswell as the river bank.
T. M.
We had checked in on line but even then had a good half hour wait. Room was clean and had everything in you need. The rest of the service was good. Great location overlooking the Thames. I hope next time we go to London the prices are affordable so I might return.
L. W.
Greeting once we reached reception was smooth and hotel an oasis of calm but too late as we had struggled with car access due to double red lines and police presence so my husband was told by police to move on or he would get a ticket. Restricted access meant car park blocked due to other vehicles picking up passengers and lack of forecourt space, also sign saying car park full (which it wasn't). Also not able to access cp for luggage later without a ticket although we were not told this at check in or that it only lasts 10 mins.
You need to advise customers on booking that access by vehicles not advised or better still run a valet service and someone helping outside as reception is not at ground level, this chaotic situation is one you seriously need to address.
Using public transport from then on was much easier!

The location is excellent with very easy access to The Excel Centre offering fantastic views of the waterside. The facilities are very smartly presented. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is very appealing and varied. Also pleased with the price paid. Overall happy to recommend.
N. J.
We found the hotel staff very helpful and obliging. My wife and I are both disabled, and needed one or two adjustments to our accommodation which the staff carried out quite happily. We had a very pleasant stay.
T. L.
Excellent Docklands Hotel. Stayed here while attending a conference. It was very nicely furnished with big comfortable bed. Great shower. Loads of USB charge points and power points for road warriors with devices.
R. G.
The hotel is ideally located next to the Excel exhibition centre, and about 10 minutes from the Royal Victoria DLR stop. The reception is located up a staircase to the first floor (lifts are also there), and the staff are very accomodating and friendly. There's a bar, offering a range of drinks and light food (including pizza for £10) - all of which can also be delivered to your room. The rooms are very nice, clean and well fitted out, albeit with a slightly odd bathroom arrangement (toilet separate from shower/bath/sink). One potential downside/upside of this location is the proximity to London City Airport, it can be quite noisy with aircraft taking off. The breakfast is very expensive ~£15 if it's not included in your room rate. There are plenty of cheaper options located in the exhibition centre. I would definitely stay there again if I needed to access the Excel centre.
A. B.
The Staff at Novatel Excel went over and above to make our stay really special. I had told them in advance that it was our wedding anniversary, and they provided card cake and balloons. A very pleasant surprise. Would definitely book again.
A. M.
Good hotel and the quality exceeds the price range. Only minor bug bear was the breakfast. The bacon was folded in half and with multiple freshers stuck together and the scrambled eggs were very bland and watery. Only a minor downside and didn't impact on my stay and the price made it acceptable.
T. M.
Location was excellent for me. There are lots of eateries in the immediate area, we had dinner at a tapas bar. I've stayed here twice now and the service is excellent. After being stung a few times staying in over priced accommodation which is extremely basic we decided to book the Novotel.
M. S.
Very comfortable hotel, good food, and very friendly atmosphere. The staff went out of their way to help us!
Extremely convenient for the Excel facilities.
Would definitely return on another occasion, and recommend to others!
M. S.
Visited on my wife's birthday for weekend away. Staff were fantastic and friendly. Lovely views across the water to the o2 arena. Plenty of restaurants and bars as well as a tesco nearby. Handy for underground as well (DLR) but would recommend taking the cable car over to O2 and catching underground there, just for the views/experience.
S. B.
We had a great stay hotel conveniently situated to transport links, hotel and room were very clean. The bed and room very comfortable. We stayed on the top floor which was really quiet and allowed for a good nights sleep. Would definitely stay again.
D. S.
Nice place to be if your destination near City airport or Excel Exhibition Centre. If you lucky you can have great view from your window. If not there are plenty nice views if you are not too lazy to have a walk. Friendly staff. Did not tried food at restaurant, but breakfast was fine. Only missed scrambled egg.
S. L.
Our room was modern, clean and comfortable. I would have given a 5 star rating, however the hotel messed up by not providing us with our original booking of a room with a view.
S. P.
I stay here twice a year for our event at London Excel. Friendly staff, food served in the restaurant is OK, bar open till late, spacious rooms. Probably the best hotel to stay in comparison to others around the venue.
i. l.
Great Hotel. Fantastic staff. Just need to make sure breakfast is hot and kitchen staff know what eggs sunny side up but flipped over is all about...not rick hard yolk.....staff were accommodating by heating the food up.
R. R. A.
Flight got cancelled and we got booked here. Clean and modern place, large rooms
Unfortunately I did not find information if the water in the minibar was complimentary or not
Restaurant still served dinner at 22:00 when we arrived, open till 22:30
S. E.
Room was great, staff were really friendly and helpful. The only thing was I had hoped to check in before 2pm, but the room wasn't ready. All in all a great hotel, and would definitely stay again! Thank you
k. H.
Couldn't fault the room or hotel in any way. Stayed whilst visiting the London o2 for concert. It's located right opposite the excel centre and we had views of the river. Bathroom wall of glass which mists over at the touch of a button gave room a modern feel. Lovely pizza's too.
C.
My daughters loved it - from the 'magic shower misting window' to the breakfast options to the cute unicorn keyrings the receptionist gave them, they enjoyed every minute of it.
If I had one criticism, it would solely be to recommend informing guests the room Tv's only have Freeview, and to bring a suitable laptop/mobile/HDMI media cable to link a device to the TV to expand your viewing options.
T. M.
What a great hotel. A short walk from the DLR to the sights of the City or take the breathtaking ride on the cable car. I can't fault anything about the hotel and staff and had the best night sleep in a very long time. Thank you to all of the staff.
r. m.
We stayed there for the New Year eve. A nice place to stay. We had a room on the sixth floor and we had a great view of the Thames. A very clean and modern room. The staff was very kind ..
S. R.
Hotel rooms were modern, clean and to a high standard. The amenities available were excellent. Staffs make children stay memorable. Always greeted by friendly staff.
A. B.
I stayed in Novotel hotel near Excel London with my 3 teenage daughters and we were very happy with the staff, cleanliness of the rooms and breakfast has lots of varieties. My kids really enjoyed staying at the hotel and we will definitely looking forward to going back in October this year
R. M.
Clean, comfortable modern hotel less than 10 minutes drive from London City Airport. Staff are friendly and prices are not extortionate. Breakfast has a great variety and is good quality.
W. T. C.
Good room but with no view. Found the bathroom to be inconvenient as it was desperate from the shower. Bed was comfortable but television was in the corner and too far away.. Staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful with requests.
D. W.
Brilliant staff, they were kind and friendly and very informative when we had questions, our room was upgraded free of charge and the upgrade made a special weekend that bit more special, I couldn't praise them enough. Will definitely be staying here again next visit to London
W. V.
Quite and good value for money. Good location for the Excel. We booked it for the close proximity to the Olympic Park.
Beds are a bit firm for my liking and rooms are small (expected) but clean. Nice shower.
g. h.
I just stayed here for 5 nights .. everything about this hotel is amazing.
It is located near a DLR station (Custom House 30 mins to central London) and the Emirates air line. The hotel itself has anything that you may need (wifi, child play centre, breakfast buffet, etc) but it only lacks a pool. The staff is also really friendly and helpful.
Many say that the novotel excel is only good for businessmen traveling to the next door excel centre.. I DISAGREE, tourists can easily get to central london via. London Tube.
r. t.
Arrived early, just wanted to stow baggage if possible. Reception staff was brilliant. Allowed us to check in early. Room service perfect. Room itself is good. Would definately stay here again.
C. L.
Rooms are lovely and spacious. Strange see through shower which can be blocked out by pressing a button on the wall. Room service wasn't up to much. Ordered chicken caesar salad and it came with mayonnaise rather than caesar dressing and no parmesan shavings. Close to excel and custom house station.
S. M.
Lovely room, very spacious, separate loo which comes in handy! Bath and a shower, and nice smellies. Reception staff super friendly and knowledgeable. Bar nice and relaxed for late evening drinks 😎
A. M.
Fantastic weekend with unseasonably warm weather! Room was in a prime location for the ExCell London, O2 Arena with major attractions just a short walk or tube journey away. Highly recommended if you are going to a local event.
G. W.
It's ok but overall the staff here does some weird stuff and the rooms are structured very strangely. The rooms have no booklets of amenities or menus for room service, and it's not supplied with extra sheets or towels.
C. j.
The staff were very helpful, the room was very clean and a comfy bed. The breakfast was self service with ample choice. Will definitely be staying here again.
S. F.
Somewhat bad first impression due to one maid who had a wierd sense of the word 'clean'. It was however quicly taken care of. Nice room, quiet area (there were no major events in the ExCel area), very good breakfast, nice staff.... 4 out 5 total.
J. B.
Great access to excel. Bar and room service stop at 1am though. Shower trays are way to low and water way to easy to spill over and into the main bathroom then into the carpet of the room. Toilet is in a separate room which is way too small and cramped.
T. M.
Located in the Docklands, the Novotel has a fantastic location right next to the congress center. There are couple of good restaurants nearby. Not much room to hang your things or put soap. A little on the small side but as we were only using it as a base wasn't too concerned.
E. R.
Great customer experience, good bar, room on 2nd floor well kitted out, comfortable and quiet. Good breakfast options. Really pleasant stay.
A. B.
Nice staff, nice room, nice bathrooms
T. M.
I recently stayed at the Novetel and while the experience was alright. Excellent location for exploring the area or attending an event at ExCel. We really enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace watching the world go by. Mins walk away from the LDR and 15mins walk from Canning Town tube.
A. M.
Very nice room, helpful staff and a great selection for the breakfast buffet. Location has DLR access to the rest of London very near as well as cable car access to the O2 arena nearby.
N. E.
Very good experience overall. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. As I was attending an event and Excel the location was perfect. I had a great room with good facilities and a fantastic shower.
P. K. F. C.
I recall my wife and I were here in July 2014. Our friends and us arrived at the hotel late in the evening with two cars, and we managed for find a car park nearby. All I could remember was the morning quayside view as we enjoyed as we were having breakfast!
J. W.
One of the best locations for staying while visiting a conference at London Excel. The novotel has a nice restaurant and bar, a gym and does room service which is essential after those long days at a trade show. Rooms are modern, clean and well equipped.
T. M.
The hotel is located in a very interesting area. Certainly recommend as a base to explore London via the dlr or drive in as there's plenty of parking and not in the congestion zone. Booked a Executive Premier room with breakfast. Will stay again even if visiting the West end.
I. M.
Following a problem with the previous accommodation, the staff at the Novotel London Excel were friendly and helpful. They let us store our bikes in the dedicated bike store, and us on our way for a very early start! Overall, outstanding and will definitely book properly next time!!
D. B.
Amazing place . Kind people staff.
N. D.
Warm and cosy room. Staffs are friendly. Easy access to the train station 5min walk and very close to the Emirates Cable line. Housekeeping service could use some improvements.
A. V.
The reception people were either chaotic (I booked three nights, they did not registrate this , so I found myself before a closed door of my room), unprofessional or unfriendly. No freshly cut fruit at the buffet. Bread was mediocre, coffee as well.
S. A.
Had a 1 night stay for business, would normally stay with a Starwood hotel (points system) but all the hotels were insanely priced that night so I thought to try out Novotel. Very modern, clean, friendly / helpful staff.
Will return again!
A. L.
The stay was satisfactory. However the reservations system left MUCh to be desired.
I booked a guest room online for one night. Later I needed to increase that to six nights. The process was nearly impossible. The Novotel central reservations system said I could not do this because the reservation was guaranteed. I explained that I wanted to increase the reservation. They said I could only do this through the local hotel. The hotel told me that I could do this only through the central reservations system. I had to keep calling back and forth as each insisted that I had to talk to the other. Frequently the person I talked to at the hotel was away for the day, or it was after 5 pm and I was told I had to call back on a weekday during the day. Time differences calling from the USA also frustrated the process. I incurred a total of $104USD in telephone long-distance calling charges, all to increase my stay from one night to six.
This was terrible customer reservations service. There should have been someone who took my information in my first call and resolved the reservation, rather than forcing me to repeatedly call back. The hotel needs to empower either the central reservation system or the local reservations clerk to change reservations, especially when a customer wants to increase the number of nights.
지.
The room and breakfast were perfect and the computers were fast🥰There was some massagers, which I liked mostly💋
But the only thing that I didn’t like is that some of the staffs weren’t that kind. I felt bad at this😣 but it was good except some staffs👻
Ps.Im S.Koreannnnnn (no one asked ikr)
O.
Decent hotel with what you expect. Restaurant had rather bland food, both for dinner and the breakfast buffet. Gym was very small with hardly anything except a nice view.
I. W.
I had a great stay at this hotel. The customer service was superb and the rooms were clean. I had no issues. I would recommend staying here.
T. M.
An immaculately well-run hotel. The price was more than reasonable for what we had. Very easy to access via the underground , custom House for ExCel. An ideal location that we just popped on to the cable car across the Thames & then took the Thames clipper in to London.
A. L.
Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable. And helpful staff who moved us to another room the moment there was a problem with our original room. Perfect location when visiting an event at the ExCeL centre.
A. M.
Quick check-in, nice room, comfy bed, amazing shower (waterfall type), ate twice in at the hotel bar area and it was good. Friendly staff. A stone throws from the Excel Centre and close to the tube (DLR).
N. A.
Lovely hotel, clean and neat. Such a pleasant stay and not far from the train station, pity though as it is an incredibly long ride from the airport should you Uber.
S. C.
My capacino was cold and our desert took a long time to come. The icream sundae was just two scoop of icream with a few popcorn. Which should not be called a sundae. Not value for money. They need to work on consistency in their service.
g.
Excellent. This hotel, booked at the right price, is a great spot to stay if you are seeing someone at the O2, or attending an Excel expo or to explore Canary Wharf, Greenwich, Stratford Westfield or Shoreditch. Bond Street is about 30 minutes by tube so easy to get into the West End, too.
S. A.
Only popped in for hot drinks but whole place had good service and was very clean including the toilets. Relaxing atmosphere. Would consider staying here overnight in the future
L. H.
It was very cool ! The rooms are spacious but it was weird that there was a window between the beds and the bathroom :/, the food was really good too, thanks
R. P.
Like any other Novotel this is a bit dull in terms of infrastructure, cleanliness, feels like less on all aspects than the brand name stands for. Can't imagine how ibis would be. Double tree in the same area is much better option
N. R.
They are surprisingly very child friendly although I always associated them with work meetings kind of venues. The children definitely want to go to Novotels in future and so do we.
M. O.
Great hotel, well managed and professional, helpful staff and management. Stayed here for a week on a course and the food and service was really good, they managed to have something different every day, would highly recommend
S. B.
The whole experience was excellent . I would particularly like to call out your general manager Michael Lucas's hospitality . He made the stay so welcoming and was very flexible in meeting my business requirements ....A gem of a person and a super host and GM!
M. W.
Great reception at the hotel, room clean and well furnished. Lots to choose from at breakfast. Location great for pretty much anywhere in London, short walk to Royal Victoria DLR.
E.
Chique lobby, good variety in breakfast. Good restaurant, had great chicken there. The rooms here are the same as everywhere else, generic but comfortable.
B. S.
The experience was great! Untill they decided to drill and do construction directly above my room, it was extremely loud and we were not able to sleep in at all this morning, it definently put a bad taste on my stay here.
d. a.
I came here with my husband for the weekend so we could attend an event at the O2, the location was fab and the hotel its self was excellent, our room was very clean with tea making facilities, shampoos etc.
the hotel staff were very friendly, all in all I would defiantly come back and stay in this hotel again.
P. H.
4 star hotel gets 5 stars. Everything was exactly as expected. I would mark it down for the scrambled eggs at breakfast, if it weren't for the fact that all scrambled eggs at a hotel buffet breakfast are horrible crimes against eggs.
W. A.
I have used Novotel for couple of times now and the standard remains as my expectations. Cleaned room. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff. Overall a very good hotel away from home .
K. B.
Really great hotel with great amenities. Great food, lovely clean and comfortable bed. Even had foot massagers in the main atrium. Highly recommend!
m. c.
I asked for a taxi and was ordered one by the reception staff. The "taxi" turned out to be a non-licensed car (no license plate stating it was a taxi) and they wanted to charge me £5 extra extra for using a credit card. The London black cabs charged me approx. £10 to go from your hotel to Canary Wharf; this guy had no meter and wanted to charge me a flat fee of £12 plus the £5 credit card charge! Plus there was no indication in his car of whether he was a properly licensed taxi driver or not. I refused to travel with him and went inside and asked the reception staff to order me a proper licensed London cab. They refused and so I had to walk to the excel taxi rank to get myself a taxi.
R. C.
My first time at a Novotel and really impressed, though it's a bit fancier than I'd usually go for, it's the closest to the Excel so I wanted to stay here... Great rooms, great service, great food... Highly recommended
C. C.
I specifically choose Novotel every year on my trips because they have never EVER disappointed me. Even during what must have been a stressful weekend at MCM Expo, the staff were still lovely and did their best to see that we were happy
f. s.
Clean and spacious room. Got a free upgrade. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was so so for the price. Loved the terras.
i. b.
Surprisingly excellent - I didn't have high expectations but was very pleasantly surprised - great rooms, excellent food and friendly staff will use again.
K. H.
Really lovely hotel. Clean, tidy, warm. Everything you could want from a hotel. Breakfast could do with some work, very limited but it will do for a night or two!
s. b.
Great location near the Excel, with Nisa local and Tesco express within walking distance. Exceptionally clean rooms with a lot of space and fridge included (Queen Room), and were happy to help print off tickets to an event at ExCeL.
K. F.
Great hotel with fabulous features & decor. Room was large & airy with a fabulous bathroom & amazing shower. Great location for the Excel Centre, which is practically across the road.
T. R.
My holiday was 23 days in London and Europe. 5 days in this hotel. This is the place i found best staff. They make the rest of the day. When the welcome and staff is good we see only good in the hotel.
K. W.
Would have been 4 star but lost 1 for charging £16 to park my car overnight.
Otherwise a very comfortable bed and room.
Easy check out
S. B.
Nice rooms...modern looking..bed seems comfy enough...small but everything you need for a nights stay....just down the road is cable car across river to o2..great link and only £3.50 each..recommend for o2
M. G.
Very friendly staff, great clean rooms and great location. I would definitely stay here again. Only 4 stars because car parks fill up and parking is difficult
S. D.
All staff were friendly , welcoming & helpful. The breakfast choice was very good. Nice , clean and spacious hotel.
N. W.
Just visiting family member staying there. All staff I talked to were very helpful.
M. P.
We love to stay at this hotel, it's close to the O2 arena where we visit when we are here. The staff is helpful and the new refurbished rooms are really nice. Good breakfast!
L. K.
Got a suite because my room was not ready yet. Best room I’ve ever slept in! Staff is super friendly.
T. A.
Solid upper mid range hotel that is super clean and quiet.
Check in and out is fast and easy and the facilities are great.
S. T.
Nice hotel, clean tidy and modern and located in a night area close to Emirates cable cars. The only thing that I didn't like breakfast buffet was rubbish.
T. T.
Very Nice hotel rooms. Very modern and spacious. Location from centre of town is a little far but for the price, great value.
Z. H.
The staff at check in were very efficient Helpful
E. H.
Wishing we had been informed of the renovations taking place at the hotel before our stay. Very impressed with the choice of breakfast selection.
e. C.
Beatifull hotel and great rooms and service. Location good for visiting excel for conferences. Near to airport. But the have no fly hours. So no problem during night hours and sleep.
J. L. D.
Super service, great food, lovely bar area with outside terrace, nice rooms, best venue near
London Excel and super efficient staff. Highly recommended.
M. R.
Excellent Hotel with amazing view and location. A little far from Downtown but still acceptable. The rooms are clean and the hotel lounge is top class.
