G. L.We’ve just had a 3 night stay here. Myself, my wife and 3 young children. We usually stay in premier inns as it’s one of the few hotels that allows a family of 5 in the same room. This is not the first time I’ve left a Google review, but it is the first time I’ve left a review for a premier inn.
We choose premier inns as you know what you are getting and they are generally good value for money. On this occasion though, this was by far the best stay we’ve ever had. I’ll be honest this was mainly down to the staff. Every single one of them were extremely helpful, friendly and provided an excellent service. From check in to check out, we had breakfast dinner and drinks across all 4 days and every time they were brilliant. We’d definitely return here and I hope someone reads this and the staff all hear what a great job they are doing. Hospitality is a tough gig at the best of times, even more so over the past couple of years. It was very refreshing to receive such good customer service. Thank you very much, it really was appreciated.
J. T.Good location for exploring London and South bank, quiet street. Clean rooms and lounge area. Limited room servicing because of covid, had to ask for more towels, tea-bags etc. Extractor fan in bathroom not working. Front door locked at 23.00ish, it took quite a while for night staff to come to the door also long wait when returned to collect luggage. Would stay again.

Jonathan at the reception was absolutely lovely, courteous and very helpful. He made us feel welcome.
We enjoyed the breakfast but the dinner was awful; the periperi chicken looked like boiled tasteless chicken painted with dodgy periperi sauce. We couldn't eat it.The rice and spaghetti were tasteless.
Overall, convenient location close to several interesting sites in London, would recommend.
D.Clean and usual Premier Inn good quality. Great price for its location in London but only gave this one three stars because of some sort of fight going on outside the hotel under our window at 2 in the morning. Not the hotel's fault but it dimmed our experience.
H. H.We spent two nights here in September and couldn't find any faults - quite the opposite. The staff were all super welcoming and friendly and catered to any need we had. The room, and the hotel, were immaculately clean. Ideal location, less than 15 minute walk to Waterloo, with lots of food & drink options in the immediate vicinity. Will be returning for our next trip in November!
S. P.This is one of the best Premier Inns that I've stayed in. It's clean, quiet and safe at a good price. It's about a 30 minute walk from the London Eye (or 10 minutes by the tube), so staying here is recommended if you are visiting central London on a budget. And you'll be closer to restaurants, cafes and pubs that cater to locals.
Southwark has a ton of construction going on (mostly from building new residential flats), so it can be a noisy area starting at about 8 AM. But the windows in this Premier Inn block out most of the construction noise. It was amazing how much louder things were outside.

Only reason for 4 star is that one lift didn't work the whole time we were there, then on last night other lift broke and we had to move 4 large suitcases down from the 6th floor via the stairs.

I want to thank ms.Madalina from the reception for kindness to check us in before the regular check in time and for her great and professional attitude. Great job with cleaning the rooms from the romanian blonde lady. The hotel is located in the city center and at 5m away from a Tesco Express supermarket.
M. G.Great location perfect for family trip, staff were friendly helpful and polite. The hotel still felt new although facilities were typical of Premier Inn, so fairly standard. There are two small locale supermarkets opposite which were useful for picking up lunch supplies before heading out for a day in London visiting the sites. Would definitely recommend and/or would choose to stay here again.

The staff were amazing too. While dining, Chris and Courtney were brilliant. They were amazingly friendly and so patient with our boys. It was a really good evening.

T. D.Premier Inn, so a known quantity. Room was clean, water was hot, shower was refreshing, little ones bed was comfy (even when the parent got booted onto it...). Good amount of sockets, and hdmi input for TV is a nice touch, take your Chromecast/ firestick if desired. WiFi is slow on normal (free), buy premium if your going to stream/work. Price was excellent!

Southbank branch did not have a restaurant or a bar at the time we visited. Congratulations to all the staff and well done!!
M. S.A surprising 3 night night stay. My first time in a Premier Inn and I wasn't expecting it to be too good. The reception area, lift and corridors lived up to my expectation and looked a bit tired but the room was comfortable, clean and the bathroom was fresh and spotless. The dining area was actually very nice, the hot full breakfast was great, much better than the Ibis Styles with it's cold buffet high sugar options. On 29/1 I ate my evening meal there, good friendly helpful table service and a really tasty mixed grill with gluten free fries (separate oil). Reasonably priced hotel menu too. White Hart pub is also just across the road. I would have no problem staying here again...

Only real drawback as someone that has stopped smoking it is annoying you are not allowed to vape surely this causes less problems than deodorant perfume etc which is noticeable. Only two teabags and two coffees so if you want a drink before bed then there is not one for the morning, although we went out and bought our own supplies.

w. c.Great location for visiting London as a tourist. It's our second stay at this hotel as a family of four and would thoroughly recommend it. Modern and clean. Rooms are smaller than others I've experienced in the same brand but are a good size for London at this price, and are quiet given its location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant is decent enough for a casual meal with a young family. 5 minutes walk to the taste modern, 10 minutes walk to Shakespeare's globe theatre and about 25 minutes walk to tower bridge. Southwark tube station is just 5 minutes walk away to get you into the rest of London.

N. L.I was quite impressed by this location can't fault it. Really good room size in perfect clean condition - even had a view of the Shard. Rooms have air con. Great location a couple of mins walk from Tate Modern and all the South Bank has to offer. Plenty of food and drink options in area. Left luggage facility which you wouldn't always get from budget chain.
T. E.It's acceptable. The location is good, reasonable walking distance to Southwark underground station, a coffee shop just opposite the entrance (for breakfast) and two small supermarkets next door.
The room was clean enough, the beds were ok.
It's a very bare bones hotel, there's like a skeleton crew of staff present during the day(just the one receptionist). The rooms, elevators and building is a bit dated,but kept clean. The rooms have just the bare necessities, nothing fancy like a safe or mini fridge/bar, no extra toiletries soap, shower gel, body lotion and the like. Just one squeeze soap for hands on the wall and one on the wall in the shower for shower gel/shampoo.
We took a look at the restaurant and decided not to eat there. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just not inviting, we ate our meals in all the other thousands of places in London with better ambience.
I'm just used to hotels that have three stars to have way higher standard.
It's bare bones, bare necessities hotel on a good location. Acceptable, but expect nothing more.
C. L.Friendly, capable staff, despite them having to cope with a massive software failure on our arrival. Comfortable and clean. Good breakfast that set us up well for each day. Evening dinner deal was great as was the dinner itself. Would stay there again.
M. J.Used this hotel with my family 2 adults a 6 yr old and a 2 yr old. The room was really nice, cold aircon comfy beds and Cbeebies on the TV (win). Good breakfast to get us all started for the day. Will definatley be booking this again when we all return. Friendly staff to us and the kids.

Relatively well situated, in a quiet neighborhood. The staff was very friendly. We will repeat, there are few hotels with family rooms as this in London...

I stay in Southwark once or twice a year for leisure purposes because it's a good base from which to enjoy yourself and explore London. I think I will stay at this hotel again.

T. S.Ideal location for both transport and all the local London attractions. Rooms are clean and functional. We both had a great couple of nights sleep here. It's around 10 to 15 minutes walk before you get into the mix and therefore very quiet. There are however no special touches here. It's the basics; Bed, desk, tv, kettle, hair dryer. We were visiting our daughter who is going to Uni in London so we ate out all the time. The restaurant area did had a contemporary look and we saw other guests eating there.
Had a good stay in London and this was an ideal place for us to stay.

Staff trying to keep on top not really coping. Cutlery all bent. Would I stay here again yrs if cheaper than other local hotels will I eat here again probably not

Freindly staff .nice food .bedrooms are comfortable cosy and have all the basic facilities you need such as fresh towels everyday soap is provided and shower gell .

S.The Southwark premier inn has very homely rooms as well as brilliant staff that make your stay personal and enjoyable, the dinners and breakfast has a wide range to be enjoyable to everyone and I never had an issue when staying in relation to anything. The location is central and very close to a tube station which makes traveling easy and I would recommend the hotel to anyone over others in the area .

S. F.The staff were very friendly and professional, the resturant food was good, and the room was clean, but in a bit of a rundown state in the bathroom. Could not fault the location as there is a Tesco express next to the hotel and a Sainsbury's opposite, both of which are open until 11pm. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants and pubs within a 5 minute walk as well as being 5 to 10 minutes away from The Tate Modern, The Shard, Southbank with all the tourist sights you could want, and The Tower of London and Tower Bridge. By far the best place to eat breakfast and lunch is Borough Market which has fresh produce, amazing hot food, as well as coffee and fresh juices. I cannot stress enough how amazing the selection of food is here, and if you have any interest in photography Borough Market is a must as you will find many things to point your lens at here!

A. C.Simply lovely restaurant area. Didn't eat but enjoyed a bottle to Brooklyn Lager. Bar area is small but comfortable. They had 'pick tv' on the flatscreen opposite the bar. This was an interesting choice of channel because we witnessed oragotans kicking each other. Sky sports news would have been better. Overall I would recommend for a drink before you leave the hotel or while you wait for the sheets to be changed.

G. R.Morning and night shift receptionist are nice and helpful. It is just in walking distance to Tower Bridge and other tourist spots. It has bus stops near it so it is easy to roam around the city not needing a taxi. Plus, you have Tesco and Sainsburys locals at the ground level just outside of the hotel if you need any quick bite or forgot your toothbrush.

L. W.Stayed here whilst in London for the NFL, relatively easy to find although there are to Premier Inn's within walking distance so make sure you get the right one! Check-in was a doddle and the rooms were well appointed. Slept like a baby due to minimal noise - which can be a problem in central London. Also close to Borough Market and tube stop.

T. L.We were in London in early February 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Premier Inn Southwark (Tate Modern). This was our first Premier Inn stay South of the Thames and from the moment we checked in the staff were helpful and accommodating.
Eating In: At first glance the Premier Inn breakfast may seem an expensive choice, but when you add up what you get for your money - the variety and the fact that it's "all you can eat" buffet it's a no-brainer.
Eating Out: Being in London you're never far away from somewhere to eat so you have plenty of options nearby.
Things To Do: Tate Modern is about five minutes walk away and Tower Bridge is a pleasant 30 minute or so walk via Queen's Walk along the bank of the Thames. There are some great views of St Pauls and the striking architecture of the City of London.
Southwark Underground Station is just a short walk away and you can be in the centre of London and have access to all the major sights and sounds in just a few minutes.

J. h.We decided to try and turn the negative of a business trip into the positive of a city break. And the Premier Inn's location on Great Suffolk Street was certainly more about pavements and concrete than streets lined with gold. However, being located just across Blackfriars bridge we were ideally located for our business needs but also very near old and new tourist attractions. Most notably, Great Suffolk Street is directly behind the Tate Modern modern art museum. An art deco power station turned into an art gallery, just in case you didn't know.
We arrived late but the area wasn't lonely because a cubist growth of apartment blocks has grown up around the Tate Modern - giving the wanderer the sense of being mouse sized in a world stacked up with plastic storage boxes, most of the boxes shining with the lights of the apartments inside them. The Tate Modern is surrounded by a small 'forest' of white barked birch trees, and with the lights of boats plying the river Thames and LED lights in the silvery birch trees it's surprisingly pleasant for a concrete jungle. Cherry blossom weather in the middle of March certainly contributing to the pleasantness of the late evening.
Walking along the path on the South side of the Thames was a bit of a building site, closer to grungy than urban chic - with the rumble of trains on iron bridges, but there were plenty of other people out and about and it's a short walk to the OXO Tower. The OXO Tower has always had a very unprepossessing ground level, no fountains and columned entrances, and it's hard to find the lift at the rear of the building. But, the bar at the top of the OXO Tower - just eight floors high - so not really a tower - is very pleasant - all the better for being a tad worn - and it has a fabulous view of St Paul's cathedral.
After, a long train trip across the country, and a bus across the city, when you sit on a leather bar chair and look out over the floodlit dome of St Pauls - the black of the Thames river and the lights of the city -you realise that despite the dowdiness of an older Premier Inn - which is delightfully Premier Inn all the same - with all of Premier Inn's divan, bathtub and kettle delights - who needs a refurb - you realise - that your comfortable hotel is in a stimulating niche of what otherwise can be an extremely draining city.
The olives and bread basket at the OXO rooftop bar were standard - but we were there to take stock and enjoy the view. Also, please avoid the aioli, it was green and fishy! Yuk! However - we really enjoyed and appreciated a whole page of alcohol free cocktails with delicious, fascinating and mysterious flavours. And, surprise, surprise, the BBQ sauce burger was the best I've ever had. They must have a special char flamed griller, to create the burger magic? Next time I might even go just for the burger and not just the chill factor and view of St Pauls. Though £18 for a burger was worth it for the view. £18 was actually worth it for the burger, even without the view! Well done chef at the OXO roof top bar!
The view from our Southwalk Premier Inn bedroom window was, however, of a narrow concrete street and a concrete wall opposite. But, we weren't staying at the Premier Inn for the view, we were there for a cup of tea on the divan, while savouring the memory of a great view and a great BBQ burger nearby. And, sighing, "Thank you Premier Inn, thanks to you we are just about ready for that business meeting the following day."

Room clean, regularly cleaned and very quiet. Beds comfortable (beware, the double bed is made of one mattress), you can make tea or coffee in the room, friendly and helpful hotel staff. Easy to find, approx. 5 min. from Southwark Underground. 15-25 min. walk to London eye one way and Tower bridge opposite direction. Was there with three children under the age of 11, it went just fine. Relatively quiet neighborhood, not very busy in the street outside. Pubs and grocery stores on the same street. Several restaurants in the area. Large and nice / clean rooms, plenty of room for two adults and two children in family room, plus cot. Easy self check-in when we arrived a late night. Pretty small restaurant that quickly gets crowded for breakfast. Monotonous "full english" breakfast, but OK a couple of days. Didn't try the dinner.

Enkelt å finne fram, ca. 5 min. fra Southwark Underground. 15-25 min. gange til London eye den ene veien og Tower bridge motsatt retning. Var der med tre barn under 11 år, det gikk helt fint. Relativt rolig strøk, ikke veldig trafikkert i gata utenfor. Puber og dagligvarebutikker i samme gate. Flere restauranter i området. Store og fine/rene rom, god plass til to voksne og to barn på familierom, pluss barneseng. Enkel selvbetjent innsjekk da vi ankom en sen kveld. Ganske liten restaurant som fort blir overfylt til frokost. Ensformig "full english" frokost, men OK et par dager. Prøvde ikke middagen.
