The staff are exceptional and friendly. The receptionist staff are friendly and take on board if anything needs doing. The bar staff are friendly too and the breakfast staff cater for your needs.
The rooms are so clean and ours was freshly painted! The room size is huge and spacious. We had a sofa bed set out and a cot bed in our room plus the double bed. Well done to the cleaners for doing a good job and the manager of the cleaners coming to check how our room has been cleaned. The door signs need to have a sign saying come back and clean as there wasn’t one.
Breakfast was superb as always tho they have lessened the cereal side to it and no longer do the kids boxes. One point to recommend would be to do HALAL sausages for guests as we miss out when the hotels serve sausages. We don’t get no meat for breakfast. If not halal then vegan.
The lobby area is super clean and always welcoming. As it was hot they had put drink dispensers for guests to enjoy drinks on end! Very thoughtful! Thank you! .. also they had umbrellas which you could hire for £2 for 48 hours which was helpful. We actually seen a lot of umbrellas getting hired.
The lifts are a problem as they are VERY slow and people are not thinking. We had a pram and we’re on floor 6 so could not have a chance of using the stairs. I think on one of the days it took us 20 mins to get down to have breakfast. The lift passed us many times and every time it was full, the guests inside were capable of walking the stairs! Very frustrating and did kind of get annoying as my little one who is 3 was getting agitated plus a baby who is 3 months in a pram.

Corridors and lobby looked like they could do with a hoover, and, although the room was generally clean and tidy, we checked the bed in our allocated room, to find that there was no mattress protector and blood on the mattress. This was rectified with an immediate room change/upgrade.

P.We decided to take our two young children (5 and under) for a trip to London. The Residence inn in Kensington with the two bedroom suite layout met our needs giving space for the family to relax. Beds were comfortable and individual climate controls meant we could achieve a decent temperature. The hotel were receptive to our needs, allowing us to have hot drinks on arrival on a wet day and preparing our room early to allow us to rest. Unfortunately, it took significantly longer (around 3 hrs) to deliver the baby cot to the room despite requesting it in advance of our visit - This resulted in a very unhappy baby and a stressed partner! In addition only one lift out of two was working in the hotel, leading to a long wait for the lifts - especially as the 9th floor gave us little option to use the stairs. We did however have a great view of the city.
From then on it was plain sailing, the room was comfortable, kitchen appliances worked well. I was surprised there was no wine glasses, but we made do with the glasses in the room. The smart TV didn't seem to be able to play bbc Iplayer despite logging in. A minor concern. Decor had some minor faults - a phone missing in one room, leading to us locating ourselves in the smaller room with the phone (to avoid little ones playing) and a slight leak from the bottom of the shower screen. Again no major issues. Housekeeping is not every day, which with two children was getting to be a challenge midway through the second day. The complimentary breakfast was ok - We've stayed at a few Marriott properties and I can say that it was by no means bad, but not up to the usual standard I would expect of a Marriott breakfast.
Location was excellent - 8 mins walk from a major tube station, many excellent restaurants providing take out within a 10 min walk. We had some excellent food right on our doorstep.
Gym had a cool temperature and well equipped, Laundry room is underutilised and very useful. Again some evidence of lack of attention to detail with some fluff filters on the driers showing need of a clean.
In summary, pricing was competitive, room was comfortable and we managed a good night sleep (even for the little ones) - we would stay again, but some of the usual marriott magic was lost on the breakfast and some of the lack of attention to detail.

A.Very comfortable stay and good COVID precautions. Only down side was 2nd lift was broken which meant more than 2 people using the only lift. Signs were present for 2 people or 1 family. Problems: only one elevator works during my entire stays so prepare to walk up and down a lot . Some housekeeping staffs can be very rude but they did clean my room anyway. One night there was very unbearable smell from the bottom of shower room but smell gone in the next morning. Wifi was weak.

E.Our two bed/two bath was spacious and well-designed, with a very well-equipped kitchen and living area. Non-carpeted room floors were nice for cleanliness, especially in a city property. The front desk graciously allowed early check-in - much appreciated after a long flight. The included breakfast was generous, and varied a little each day.
One lift is under repair, but the hotel more than made up for the inconvenience with a complimentary happy hour. Still, guests might prefer to request rooms on lower, more accessible floors until the lift repair is completed.
Laundry machines on the lower level are free and very convenient.

D.The rooms are compact but well laid out. I was on the 8th floor and had lots of natural light. Nice big shower and very clean. No Bathrobe, slippers, shower caps, hairdryer etc, just soap, shampoo and conditioner so take your bits and pieces. Bed was very comfortable and linen is very fresh (bright white duvet cover). Clean towels were placed on the made up bed every day.

Tube is a bit of a walk, about 8 - 10 mins but straight down the road and easy to find. There’s also lots of cabs around if you don’t want to walk. The giant Tesco's next door is great and very convenient. I would definitely stay here again. It’s a good utilitarian choice, not romantic but is good value for money for being so close to the centre of London.

C.We had 2 rooms for 2 nights. One was a handicap accessible room which was set up perfectly. There was no carpet and the room was open concept. The height of the bed was appropriate to transfer easily from the wheelchair to bed without assistance, the shower chair was comfortable and the amenities in the kitchenette and room were set up for those who could not reach too far, being in a wheelchair. The regular room, on the other hand, felt more cramped particularly on opening the door. That said, there was decent space once in the room. The bathroom and shower were typical European size but comfortable.
Breakfast was a continental affair, with plenty of choices. The staff at the bar was exceptional, particularly Nelson who made excellent cocktails. The staff at the front desk was also friendly and helpful.
We did not have a car, so I cannot say anything about parking. We took the tube to Earls Court Station and walked about half a mile to the hotel. It meant walking across a busy street with high speed traffic. It was a bit unnerving initially, especially with luggage, but wasn’t too bad once we got used to the route.
There is a cozy Italian restaurant across from the hotel as well as a Tesco nearby to buy groceries, otherwise it was a good walk to get to nearby restaurants.
Overall, the hotel was good for our stay, but may be more difficult if not used to walking longer distances and trying to avoid taxi fare.

Very professional and courteous staff. I booked a 1 bedroom suite, which also had a sofa bed. Both the bedroom and open-plan living room had a TV.
Personally, a range of toiletries should be introduced.

W.This hotel is definitely on the path to much better reviews! The reviews we read were mixed but the rate, location and desire for a kitchenette and sitting area encouraged us to book. We were pleased we did! We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit and it was perfect for our 10 night stay. A couple of minor adjustments to the rooms could make them more comfortable: there is very little space to navigate around the bed due to wardrobe placement but this would be an easy fix with a change in wardrobe location. The fire alarm did go off around 4am on our second night but that was the only time it happened during our stay. To be honest, we found it reassuring to know that it was in good working order- it's kind of important! One lift needed maintenance and was out of service towards the end of our stay but the hotel gave advance notice to guests of the scheduled maintenance. They also opened up the service elevator for guest use and provided free food and drinks in the evening as compensation. Amazing! There is a guest laundry room and it's free!! This is practically unheard of in a hotel! For families with kids on holiday, this is a definite bonus! So nice to be able to do a quick wash and not spend a fortune on it! The breakfast selection in the mornings was lovely and they have posted a large sign in the lobby to give guests an accurate idea of the busy times which is helpful. The coffee machines would need to be emptied of coffee grounds during breakfast which caused a little back up but staff were very attentive and could usually get it started back up pretty promptly. Location is fantastic with a Tesco superstore right next door and bus stops and tube stations very close by. We had a great stay here at this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to book again!

D. M.I don't usually give negative feedback but our experience was not great.
Firstly, I want to say that the hotel is modern, the rooms are nice and comfortable. However, the front desk service is "not good to actually pretty bad".
The only reason that I can confidently say that the front desk service was bad is that 3 people in my group have worked in the hotel industry for years.
We arrived early and saw that it was very busy. We completely understood that we would have to wait for our 3 pm check-in time.
However, 3pm came and the room wasn't ready. So we waited. We understood how it can be. 3:30pm then 3:45pm came and the rooms weren't ready and when we asked about them they didn't even have them on the priority of things to be cleaned. It also seemed like the day and night shift were switching, so the manager seemed to be passed us off to the afternoon manager.
4:00 pm came and we asked about the rooms and they legit didn't know what we were talking about. In the meantime, other people who came in after us were checking in and going to their rooms.
We were very confused. 4:30 came and the room still wasn't ready. Finally, the afternoon manager/front desk could see our frustration so he went to the rooms to clean them himself which we appreciate.
By the time our rooms were ready, it was almost 5 pm. Then they just handed us the room keys and said your luggage is over there. That was it. I'm not one to expect an apology, but if I were them, I would have said something.
It was a very weird unfriendly experience. Sadly, I won't be recommending Residence Inn by Marriott London Kensington to anyone. There are comparable hotels to choose from in the neighborhood. I wouldn't start with Residence Inn by Marriott London Kensington when looking for a place to stay in London.
D.I expect quality when I book a Marriott, and yet again I was delighted at what I got.
It’s a busy hotel, but everything worked and we were fed and watered at breakfast in good time, considering how busy they were.
K.We only stayed one night at the hotel after going to Wimbledon. It is in a convenient position for the tennis.
Hotel is good value, needs a little maintenance but nothing negative.
C. M.Was a lovely room, with a fantastic shower as with me being diabled, it was lovely to freshen up. One down side was our TV for some reason kept turning off,. The food was OK but, not alot of selection. Staff were wonderful and very helpful.
