Absolutely best experience I could ever have hoped for our first trip to London. The entrance outside is beautiful, the lady at reception was very kind and helpful with knowledge of the area. She even helped us to get a discount with our booking! The room was so much better than the photos online. I would suggest to possibly update all the photos online because when we entered our room it looked so much better! We will be stopping here again for sure, thank you for such an excellent experience! From Craig & Glen in Birmingham :)

Perfectly good place for a short stop over, lady at the front desk is incredibly warm and welcoming, room was clean, everything worked and they let me leave my luggage there all day on check out day. Rooms are small but come on it’s £100 to stay in central London right next to Paddington station so it isn’t going to be the Ritz and it isn’t trying to be! If you need to just stop over for a night or two and need a central base, you can’t go wrong with Rhodes Hotel. It isn’t disabled accessible due to only having stairs but it’s a listed building so they can’t change that. The lady at the desk helped me take my luggage up the stairs as well.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Hotel HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! We spent a week here with 3 kids and stayed in the family room. Staff are absolutely lovely, always on hand to help and provide any info or just have a friendly chit chat. Vivienne especially has made our stay very comfortable. Many nights we returned after 9pm and never had any problems... lovely safe area! We booked last minute and they managed to arrange a room for us. It honestly felt like home away from home! We were also provided with contact numbers if need be for when we were out and required any help or a taxi Great location, great hotel, great rooms and great staff! Can't fault anything. Thanks for a lovely week, we have truely enjoyed it and hope to see you again soon x

Extremely good value for central London right next to a major train station/ subway hub. The innkeeper was very hospitable and chatty. Rooms are very small but comfy and extremely clean, you really can't beat it for ~40 pounds per night!! Only thing they can improve on is the wifi for the Annex building, it seemed like my room may have been out of range or something as it was very spotty between 10pm to midnight every night. However in the main building lobby the wifi was blazing fast.

Lovely place to stay and within walking distance to Paddington Station, bus stops, lovely food places and shops. Staff are very helpful and rooms have everything needed. Would return again and highly recommended to friends and family

A true gem of a great hotel. Fabulous character, great location, lovely friendly staff, excellent prices, very secure, good WiFi, VERY CLEAN. I hope you can keep a secret cos this place really is one. Thanks so much would 100% recommend. 2 mins from Hyde park, 3 mins from 3 tube stations. Madam tussauds is walkable, London Zoo is walkable, paddington is 400m away. What.more could you want... oh yes, beds, linen and pillows were great and had great sleep. BOOK DIRECT FOR BEST PRICES. I had their smallest room and it was more than plenty for a 3 day work stay.

We stayed at Rhodes hotel for 3 nights and couldn’t fault it at all. From the minute we booked the receptionist Vivienne couldn’t have been more helpful and made us all feel welcome. The rooms were spotless and the location is perfect, being right beside Hyde park and Paddington station is only a 5 minute walk away.

We stayed in the superior double room with balcony the room was modern and clean and the jacuzzi bath was amazing excellent feature would highly recommend this room it was lovely to sit out having a few drinks on the balcony which overlooks a leafy scenic street. Very good centrally located hotel, reasonably priced. Rooms are clean, modern and well maintained, with television and internet. A continental breakfast is available (no fry-up unfortunately) One significant issue was noise. The noise of mopeds and construction kept me up at night. Apart from this it is an excellant place to stay. Please note that there is no lift. Hyde Park is just around the corner. 5 min walk from Paddington Station- Circle, District, Bakerloo, Hammersmith & City lines, National Rail, Heathrow express 2 Min walk from Lancaster Gate Tube station- Central line

Room was very nice and comfortable. Beds plenty comfortable as well. Unfortunately the breakfast room was under construction though we were told it would be ready by the time of our stay. The breakfast they deliver to your room is mediocre at best. Also the stairs to the rooms are very hard after a long day but understandable based on the location of the hotel.

Great location – two tube lines just five minutes walk, as well as Paddington railway station, from which you can get straight to Oxford. The neighbourhood looks pretty safe and very clean. The receptionist tries to be as polite as possible, which makes you feel he is not sincere, just playing his role. If you leave the luggage before they are able to check you in, they will than bring your stuff into your room, which is great. The room is very tiny, but clean. Good value for this price. Breakfast is quite strange – nothing to eat properly, just toasts, jam, some fruits and tea.

Cheap but cheerful - friendly staff and nice rooms in an excellent location. Only improvement would be breakfast which to be honest is a bonus when looking at overall rate for rooms. Rooms nice standard and surprised at how quiet they are considering old building and the close proximity to high street and Paddington Station. We done, I will be back!

My family and I were staying in a neat but old small penthouse room that was in another wing round the corner of Sussex Place. The staircase was steep and our bags were bulky and heavy that it was so exhausting for us to move up and down. The bathroom was not spacious enough for a big guy to turn around easily. The breakfast menu was much better than my expectation but we needed to travel to and fro the main hotel building each morning; thanks to God that there was not much raining. The fire alarm rang twice one morning but didn't know why or there might be someone smoking in their rooms.

Very nice place to stay. I was a guest there for 3 nights. Very easily accessible from Paddington underground station. The staff is polite and helpful. The rooms are not very spacious, but are clean and well maintained. Stairs are a bit narrow, so can be difficult if you have oversize luggage. Their kitchen was being redone while I was there, so cannot comment on the food. But there are many eateries and pubs close by, so it is not a major concern.

Lovely clean rooms, good sized beds in the single rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Only negative point: windows need replacement, they won‘t keep the cold out. Steep and narrow staircase - ask for a ground floor room if you have any issues with climbing stairs, there is no lift. Great location: just a 5 minute walk away from Paddington station and Lancaster Gate station. With the tube or bus you can reach Oxford street in 10 minutes.

We had a great stay in room 216, jacuzzi and balcony. As long as you know it's an economy hotel you know what you'll get. But it's probably most value for money in London. Great "we don't have it here but I'll go and get it for you"-staff, generous breakfast. Owner is a true character, as loud as he has big heart (Greek). High ceiling, clean. We stayed with our 1.5 year and went great. Just know there isn't an elevator and the rooms are small (as they are in London). Bathrooms are big compared to similar hotels. A special thank you to their handyman who fixed our daughters toy blow dryer!

We found the Rhodes Hotel London to be very good value. The breakfast was plentiful with the fresh fruits much appreciated; the fridge in the room was good use for cold drinks. The beds were comfortable, the air-conditioning worked very well and the ceiling was high on the second floor. We had a good talk with the personnel at the Hotel and we were surprised to know how scammers use information technology to get their insurance claims even in the Hotel industry. Overall stay was pleasant and we will recommend this Hotel without any hesitation.

Average stuff but clean and tidy. The room is very small so you can hardly go around the bed which is too large for a room like this. We stayed in the so called second building so needed to go back to the first for breakfast every day which was not communicated in advance. Breakfast is minimalist without any veggies or eggs or anything hot at all. I guess this is London pricing... Hyde Park is very close which is a huge thumbs up. Paddington station is also within 5 mins.

Awesome, cozy little hotel near Hyde Park. Reception was extremely accommodating, providing both a converter (since we forgot out America-to-UK adapter), and allowing us to store our bags for a long time on our last day as we further explored London. Rooms are a bit small, but this was not a problem for my wife and I and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great value. We spent a great weekend at London, staying at Rhodes hotel. London is not cheap, but Rhodes hotel provides a good location (just one street from Paddington underground/station). Aswell, is near from city center, just walking 25 minutes. Good service, clean, individual bathroom, free internet conection, moderate good breakfast. Rooms are small, but who cares if you just sleep there.

Rhodes Hotel offered my family a superb value, wonderful beds, clean rooms and an ideal location. Panos Crias was the most congenial host, answered so many of our questions, recommending fabulous restaurants within walking distance and providing us with tremendous service. Each morning, Stenos prepared a beautiful breakfast spread with either a buffet of breads, fruits, yogurt and cereals - or a cooked breakfast at a reasonable price. I would go back to visit again! Walking distance to Kensington, Lancaster Gate tube station, Oxford shopping district and Selfridges only about 20 minutes walk away. So convenient, great neighborhood.

My room (the 217) is not too big, but with parquet and comfortable beds, it has a small but modern and functional bathroom and everything is clean. The simple breakfast but with a good selection (there are also croissants) is in a dedicated room. The staff is very courteous and helpful but above all always smiling. Pannhos (I hope you write like that) besides having seemed like a nice person gave us good dinner recommendations! The location is great because you can choose between two subway entrances: Lancaster and Paddington. Also in the surroundings you will find a bit of everything! (Original) L' albergo è tipicamente inglese! La struttura è a più piani e nelle parti comuni c'è una moquette con toni accesi che dona carattere. La mia camera ( la 217 ) non troppo grande,ma con il parquet e dei letti comodi, ha un bagno piccolo ma moderno e funzionale ed è tutto pulito. La colazione semplice ma con una discreta scelta ( ci sono anche le brioche ) è in una saletta dedicata. Il personale molto cortese e disponibile ma soprattutto sempre sorridente. Unfortunately, the stay was ruined by the disastrous check-in: we arrive in the structure, tired, devastated and after 8 hours of travel. We had paid a portion of the total amount through Booking. Initially we were assured that they would take the rest 5 days before our arrival, but it was not done. Aware of having to bring the authorization form of the owner of the credit card that we would have used to pay, we sent everything the night before, but in the structure the recepcionista (extremely nasty, with an attitude of courteous but annoying superiority) forced us to recompile another credit card authorization form and forward it to the owner, who remained in Italy. Never is it that they have made us sit in the room while we wait, no, they kept us sitting in the tiny hall, as if they wanted to keep us under control (we were not even criminals, given that part of the stay had already been paid). Finally we manage to deal with it and we can enter the room. Good room, clean, quite large by London standards, very nice bathroom, with even jacuzzi tub. Except for the small inconvenience of the hot water (which we understood as activating only the next day), an annoying trickle from the nearby gutter tormented us every night. Probably the fault was the location of the room they had given us, located in the basement, next to the breakfast room. Very hard pillows, really uncomfortable, I personally slept much better without it. Very good breakfast, varied although not too abundant. Great location for metro and bus transport, the area is relatively quiet and close to the Kensington Gardens. Summarily, it gets worse around, but reading the other reviews I really expected more. (Original) Inizialmente volevo mettere 2 stelle, ma ho deciso di darne 3, come incoraggiamento. Purtroppo, il soggiorno è stato rovinato dal disastroso check-in: arriviamo in struttura, stanche, devastate e dopo 8 ore di viaggio. Avevamo pagato tramite Booking una parte della somma totale. Inizialmente ci avevano assicurato che avrebbero tolto il resto 5 giorni prima del nostro arrivo, ma non è stato fatto. Consapevoli di dover portare il modulo di autorizzazione del proprietario della carta di credito che avremmo usato per pagare, abbiamo mandato tutto la sera prima, ma in struttura la recepcionista (estremamente antipatica, con un atteggiamento di cortese ma fastidiosissima superiorità) ci ha obbligato a ricompilare un altro modulo di autorizzazione per la carta di credito e inoltrarlo al proprietario, restato in Italia. Mai non sia che ci abbiano intanto fatto accomodare in stanza nell'attesa, no, ci hanno tenuto sedute nella piccolissima hall, come se volessero tenerci sotto controllo (manco fossimo state delinquenti, visto che una parte del soggiorno era stata gia pagata). Finalmente riusciamo a venirne a capo e possiamo entrare in stanza. Buona camera, pulita, abbastanza grande per gli standard di Londra, bagno molto bello, con vasca addirittura idromassaggio. Salvo il piccolo inconveniente dell'acqua calda (che abbiamo capito come attivare solo il giorno dopo), un fastidioso gocciolio dalla grondaia vicina ci ha tormentato tutte le notti. Probabilmente la colpa era della posizione della stanza che ci avevano dato, situata nel seminterrato, accanto alla stanza della colazione. Cuscini durissimi, davvero scomodi, personalmente ho dormito molto meglio senza. Colazione molto buona, varia anche se non troppo abbondante. Posizione ottima per i trasporti della metro e dell'autobus, la zona è relativamente tranquilla e vicino ai giardini di Kensigton. Sommariamente, c'è di peggio in giro, ma leggendo le altre recensioni mi aspettavo davvero di più.
