Never heard of this place till I actually got to stay here and what a truly fantastic place it is!!
To begin with, it is situated inside the beautiful Holland Park!! The building itself is something like out of a Harry Potter film set!! Such beautiful architecture and the grounds so scenic!!
Rooms are excellent and clean and pretty modern. The restaurant serves a super breakfast and the Bar menu is limited but every item is fantastic (the Salt and Pepper Squid gives any London restaurant a good run for it!!)and reasonably priced.
Last but not least the staff are so friendly and accommodating and will go out of their way to make you feel good!!
My stay at Safestay will always stay in my memory as a highlight!!!
Such an amazing place without a doubt!!

Great hostel right in the middle of a park in central London. Great location, great service. Free WiFi. You can even play ping-pong here

I stayed for just one day so here are my observations...
•Beddings, room and bathroom were very neat
•They sell nice cappuccino
•The meals are worth the bucks
•Not sure about the safety for a long term stay though but I think it's a great choice if you want to stay for 1-3 days

Great room, great location, quiet, reasonable breakfast. Out of all my friends who came to London, we stayed here and had the best budget stay. Will definitely stay here again!

Fully equipped hostel. The way in from the main street is a bit long via the park but can't think of other negatives as far as a hostel is concerned.

Awsome,I got private room with my son, had private bathroom, it was spotlessly clean, big and roomy, can't rate it enough, love that it's in the park and a stones throw from everything.staff are lovely too.cheap and comfortable, will be staying again for sure.

Clean and comfortable. Initially found the staff really rude but then I witnessed what they deal with daily and I was a bit more understanding. Good value for money.

I was there with a school trip and it was very nice! Some squirrels entered through the window while we were gone, and ate some m&ms I had next to the window. The hostel was very kind and paid for them. Just a reflection of how the hostel is really surrounded by nature and you definitely don't feel like you are in the middle of London!!

The place is OK,the rooms clean, toilet and bathroom clean, food OK,staff OK,wonderful environment. When visiting the UK I strongly recommend this place for you as it affordable for everyone.

Lovely, clean rooms and bedding. Bathroom/shower was clean too. Staff were wonderful at check-in despite me forgetting my photo ID...they worked round it rather than leave me on the streets so that was very much appreciated. Atmosphere was relaxed and general mood/people were well behaved. There was no noisy, lairy, dangerous feeling you can sometimes get in hostels. I enjoyed my brief stay and would stay there again :-)

Value for money. Just a bed for the night good people’s also staying and respectful to others
Was hard to find as it was inside a park with locked gates but got there eventually
u. r.
Very good value for money! Very clean and modern. there is a curtain around your bed to make it dark when others have the light turned on. I was unlucky with the person underneath me, but that's not the hostels fault. I was even upgraded to a 9 persons dorm with own bathroom and shower, both very clean and new! It's a bit sad that there is no kitchen and the common area is a bar. If you want to hang around there it's maybe not the best place but I really liked it. Would stay again¨!!

First, it definitely feels safe: rooms with key cards, plenty of locker space, and reasonably limited building access. Cleanliness is very good, especially for a hostel. And service is excellent and professional.
Social interaction is unfortunately limited, partly due to unnecessary restrictions in game and tv rooms. People won’t pay for pool when there’s only one low-quality cue and no chalk, and why not keep ping pong balls and paddles available? Social connection would hugely improve the experience and for very little cost to the business. As it is, the game room is a dead waste of space.

I slept pretty well, though a firmer bed would have avoided leg-aches. I appreciated the Chaplin films in the bar, and the free hot water, and also the fact that background music was kept soft (for me none is ideal). It was great to have an en-suite in the dorm. People seem to have an awful lot of luggage, which clutters the rooms. Maybe you could suggest that they sort it, bring in 1 or 2 bags, and leave the rest in a store-room.
I did feel the lack of a quiet study space, but the bar was fine for that purpose. The breakfast options were not clear on the web-site. Is there a light option (good coffee and a roll/croissant, perhaps with cheese)? The Kenco from the machines is not very nice.
Everything seemed clean and well-maintained and staff were helpful. The clutter was the main problem.

A cheap stay over but the staff were very helpful and the building facilities were clean although a few out of the corner bits could do with some attention. The garden is having some refurb and the pond needs a clean but the environment was very good overall. Some access restrictions but its locale was very good and some nice walks and places so see around the hostel make this a place to visit again. The storage is quite good as seen in some of the pictures shown and locks about 8mm are taken in the underbed storage cages

I had an amazing stay at Safestay Holland Park in the summer. There was an opera going on every night right next to the hostel with beautiful music. The area (Kensington) is incredibly beautiful and very walkable. We would rent bikes for free each day just outside of the hostel. Transit was a little bit farther. A long way to go with heavy suitcases. Also, no elevator that I remember and a long way to go up the stairs, but there was lots of room on the stairs. The beds were luxurious, you can close off the bed for privacy and the bathrooms were clean, sunny and almost unoccupied at all times. Everything was pretty clean but could be dusted much more. The breakfast room was hard to find, staff was not knowledgeable of the area and slow to check in and there was not enough comfy places to sit in the common area outside. There was a theft of someone’s entire suitcase in the storage locker when we were there. There was no nightlife and not much socializing with other people. Didn’t really bother us though since we had full days and nights planned already. Camden was good for social nights in the hostel. This hostel was relaxing and peaceful. They certainly had the space for a pool and hot tub and could benefit from organized or semi-organized sport outings in the park.

Cheapest hostel accommodation you will find in London with helpful staff

Great location and building. Rooms can be more clean. There was no hot water. Need more staff at reception. Also the entrance to the hostel is inside a park which gets closed after sunset. There's no clear signage to guide people around when the park is closed.
P. C.
Its a good place to stay. Beds with curtins, which gives you some privacy. There's a beautiful park around the place. A bit weird to walk late night in the park to get into the hostel, but nothing bad happened. Its a really calm and nice atmosphere in there.
A.
The hostel isn't bad but not fabulous either. In the room where I stayed there weren't any individual lights or sockets. The bathroom was one flight of stairs away, and the toilets had problems with flushing, no toilet downstairs to wash your hands. Maybe, I am a demanding person but in Russia, all hostels are way better and cosier. Anyway, it was more or less quiet and also quite warm, even stuffy if windows were kept closed. I would choose something something different next time.
F. V.
Toilet doesn't have a plug, therefore you can't use hairdryer, it also can get a little busy in the private toilet room since there are only one for a 15 people room. The room can also seem packed, it's comfortable though (not so much if you have to climb up 3 floors bunk bed every time as it was in my case).
M.
It was a lovely place to stay in. Everything was clean and we loved that every bed had it's own curtain and plug. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
However, finding the hostel was difficult and scary. There wasn't any lighting on the road.
Y. C.
It's located in Holland park, which would not be a problem at first. I arrived at 8 pm and I found it very hard to find the hostel as they didn't put clear sign or answer my phone call. I came from the Holland park station and I strongly recommend everyone arriving in the night NOT go from the station; Take off at Kensington street instead. Because during the night most gates are closed and an extreme lack of lighting system makes it super scary to walk alone in the park. The gate beside the design museum is always open; take Holland walk for a few minutes and pay attention to a little sign on the fence. Were it not be 4 kind people came for the help I wouldn't have found the hostel. One of them even walked with me for more than an hour.
There was no major problem with the room. Actually I was very satisfied with the bed. But there were too many bunks in a room and no chairs or table at all. If people put their luggage on the floor then you'll find it hard to even walk in the room. The shower rooms were pretty nice.
T. S.
The Hostel is in a lovely location just inside the park. My room was on the good side of the building looking to the park. The room was clean, the staff was polite and good, but they can smile sometimes. The breakfast is really good and worth it for 6 pounds, if you have enough of it you do not need to spend your money in London for expensive food during the day. The staff at the canteen was friendly but they are not well trained I assume. The Hostel is a good try for everybody who wants to stay at an affordable place in the heart of the city. The Hyde park is just next to the Holland park. The Kensington district of London is beautiful with the old buildings and all around rich people :). I can recommend it to everybody. Do not stay in your room for all around the day because you are in London. A city which is the best to explore.

I checked in then left and booked another hotel. Was like a scavenger hunt to find room when tired from travel. Room was sad and dark (mid day).
No locks on lockers. Must bring one. Who carried a padlock with them? With all the extras one must buy to be safe and comfortable, it was only a small leap to a nice hotel room.
In all fairness, lobby is nice, price is very low (but consider extras like soap, towel, shower footwear, padlock, etc). I think I just enjoy smaller hostels. May be fine for a larger group traveling together.
R. C.
Room was very cramped, bathrooms were not cleaned properly each day. Facilities in general need an upgrade - doors stiff, carpet wearing thin, paint peeling etc. There was also no kitchen for customers to use to make their own food.
Good location though.
L. S.
Stayed for the night whilst I attended a concert, it was okay. There was no hot water at all in one of the buildings which made it awkward to shower at times, I got charged 12.55 and then another 7.00 for things I didn't use as I booked for a late check in although they completely dismissed me when I said I didn't need it when checking in. The staff could smile more as they all looked extremely bored but it was okay for one night.
Y. K. A.
Had difficulty to access to the hostel in the evening after 7pm. Similarly if you are heading out in the early morning you have to brave yourself walk along the quiet and dark narrow side lane (see the picture). It will be good that the hostel's staff informs their clients in advance during their check in. Otherwise great breakfast, clean hostel and warm stay.
G. B.
All I can say is that it is OK. We had to shift rooms halfway through and were put into a larger dorm than we had initially paid for.
The nature of the buildings are such that a lot of noise comes from the floor above, and over the fie nights we stayed Safestay had several groups of school aged children come through, and they can make a lot of noise late into the night.
The hostel seemed to be struggling to cope with the number of guests, and cleaning in the bathrooms suffered.
Most of the lockers in each of the rooms we stayed in were broken and not able to be secured. Also, note that there are no cooking facilities even though we thought the website said there were some basic facilities. The bar does server good value basic meals.
The hostel is surprisingly located in the middle of Holland Park, in Kensington Chelsea. Very pretty in the spring and a nice walk to the tubes.
J. J.
Stayed here for 2 nights and had a great time. The staff just couldn't do enough, always very helpful and gave us great tips on the city. Also, a word for the cleanliness, absolutely spotless. Very convenient location. Thumbs up guys!
P. B.
The rooms are fairly cramped. Curtains on beds are not clean. WiFi is spotty around the hostel except in the lobby and communal areas. Access to the hostel requires a bit of a walk into the park which can be tricky at night time. Check out is super early for a hostel (10 AM). I'd say it would be easy to find a nicer hostel in the same price range.
N. T.
Though hostel is in a nice place in the park but reaching it is a bit of trouble especially at night where there are minimal Street lights and its bit scary if you are on your own; no proper sign boards to the hostel as well. Otherwise the room I had stayed was good and had big bathroom. Plus awesome breakfast :)
G. G.
This place is beautiful and quiet. I stayed in a room with about 12 beds, but had my privacy thanks to a great bed-space design. It's a little bit far from anything really, but there is a tube station not far away so it is not such a big deal. The hostel is located in a very nice and lovely park, and it was really nice to start my mornings with a stroll between the trees..
D. S.
The best point about this hostel is definitely the location, right in the heart of Kensington it can hardly be better in Greater London. The price is also extremely competitive for the neighbourhood, but the downside is the incredibly high bed density. In a triple bunk bed you feel every movement of any of the three people so it's hard to have a good night of sleep. Other than that, there was a problem with bed allocation at the beginning of my stay, but all in all my experience here was discrete. It also has a bar with lots of space and quite reasonably priced food.
S. A. C.
Staff (especially the brown guy at reception , forgot his name) were really nice and location perfect.
However We are supposed to stay for 5. nights , the first 3 nights they made us move rooms everyday. We paid for an all
female room, on the 2 night (we had to move rooms) they put us in a mix dormitory, but a sured us only girls were put in that room...woke up to a guy in
Our room :/
We booked these rooms a couple months in advance and asked for female rooms ....I don’t understand what the problem was.
But we got free breakfast due to the constant moving..

Great hostel! Cleanest I've ever stayed in. Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Checkout is early but checked out guests are still welcome to use services like showers. Post-checkout luggage storage is free. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.
E. I.
The location ist beautiful, the dorms rather small for 12 people... Showers are plastic booths but were clean. The hostel is tidy and cozy overall. Bring a padlock fir your locker and some earplugs! Breakfast lacks fresh fruit sometimes.
O. L.
I enjoyed my stay at the hostel especially that it has great diverse staff who are always ready to help with a big smile on their face. The location is incredible as it is located in the middle of Holland park. It gives you a great opportunity to start your day with a morning run. The hostel has also a billiardo and a sofa and TV outside the rooms if you want to chill out.
The hostel provides breakfast with a cheap price. It has a high quality.
The only disadvantage is that the closest tube or bus is almost 10 mins walking distance.
J. M.
The hostel itself is rather nice -- the mattresses were actually pretty comfortable. On the other hand, the showers left something to be desired. That said, I do not enjoy staying in a hostel, this my review may be lower than they deserve.
E. M.
It was really friendly, secure and welcoming. Breakfast good and worth the money. I found the place a bit tricky to find as i arrived at night. The bed was comfy. The bathroom situation was the only thing that brought it down for me as i had to wait ages and the fixed shower only sprayed directly at my head 🤨
M. S.
This hostel is in a fantastic location.
Being in the middle of Holland Park means no traffic noise or fumes. The rooms are very clean and the staff are extremely polite and customer friendly.
There is a large number of room types ie with on suite shower and toilet number of beds sharing the room.
There is a laundrette on site for a minimal cost which comes in handy when traveling with minimal amount of clothes.
This is not like some of the higher end hotels I have reviewed but then With a bed ranging in price from £12 this is a great way to stay in a nice part of central london at little cost
D. C.
The location is great. Centrally located inside Holland Park. Very close distance between the bus lines and tube stations. A very nice setting for relaxing and meeting new people from other places.
Rooms are very nice for this type of place. If you prefer a private room do inquire about them as they do have then here. The staff are very friendly and work very hard to make sure your stay here is very pleasant.
G. B.
NO LIFT. the 9beds female dorm was small. The place was clean and the toilet big enough.
Nice location, inside Holland park and close to the transport system connecting the city center
M. G.
Safe Stay hostel Kensington is a great place where you may not want to leave. The hostel is located in something of a botanical garden and so remains quiet and always tranquil. The hostel is near the very wealthy Kensington neighborhood. I even shopped at the grocery store around the corner where the Beckham’s are said to frequent. Though I got no close encounters with the Spice Girl or her hubby, the soccer star, I met the most lovely characters and friends at the hostel which I hope will last a long time. The friends I met here range in nationality, ethnicity and age: from young to old, teenagers of 19 to a grey-haired grandfather from the United States, and these all became my friends. I bonded so quickly with certain folks here, and honestly this was very likely due to the nice set-up they have at the hostel. To elaborate, there is an outdoor courtyard with tables, a hammock and even heat lamps for cold nights. There is a billiard room, a very quiet and comfortable office, and a cafe and restaurant with very reasonable offers. The bedrooms of the hostels are very quiet. People tended to fall asleep early and keep quiet in the rooms, unlike most other hostels where people are talking with the lights on in the bedrooms until midnight or so. The beds were quite comfortable for a hostel, very warm and fluffy bed linen. There are three buildings you may stay in here- one is a historical building with very tall ceilings, more spacious rooms and bathrooms on the outsides of the rooms. If you book the room with 13 people (mixed/co-ed) I believe this one is in the historical building. The rooms, common areas, and beds were clean. The stay comes with a locker and a lock is very cheap at the front desk if you forget one (3.50 pounds). Each bed has its own outlet (English outlet) and a USB charging port. Each bed also has a small light and, very importantly, each bed has a curtains which surround the entire bed so you can have quite some privacy for sleeping in a room with a dozen others. Service was beautiful here. They have sweet staff who actually really like their jobs and seem happy to be there. Even though I came to London with big plans to see the museums, I have taken this trip (visiting from the Netherlands where I currently live) as more of a relaxing/ catching up on work/ making new friends trip rather than a real tour of this lovely city and its offerings. And this, I know is because the hostel here is just so lovely, I am also getting work done easily here and meeting lovely people, and so its hard to leave!
T. M.
I had a great time here. It was pretty clean but it could have used some improvement. the staff were friendly and helpful. The process was too good to pass up as well. Great location. It was in a very pretty setting. I would stay reccomend it to anyone.

Fair value hostel, clean and comfortable beds. Facility hidden in the park away from the noise of the city. Can be bit confusing to reach the first time then it's no problem. Close to Kensington and Hyde Park. Don't expect to find people mingling and chilling at the hostel's restaurant over a beer (or any alcohol) as they don't have the licence to sell.
Maybe I had misfortune with roommates, but whenever I went to bathroom, floor was completely wet, one time razor in the sink...
Staff should pay more attention to general maintenance of the building. Hope they fix toilet flush/leak problem soon for the upcoming guests. I'm sure they were familiar with the problem when they went in the room to change bed linen etc.
B. T.
It's a nice place, I was in a 5 single bed ensuite, so no need to constantly share bathrooms or deal with creaking bunk beds. The building is pretty amazing looking just from the outside. It's good if you love to relax in parks and enjoy serene nature. The metro stops are only a 8 minute walk, but in the cold air and sometimes darkness of the park. Those 8 minutes are daunting. If you ever go back after 11PM (23hr), they have one small specific pathway you have to take, and it's sometimes easily missed. The service was fine and the staff are nice. It's good for the solo Traveller as it's not in a dangerous part of town.
W. R.
Adequate, especially for the price. Great central location, about 10 minutes walk to the underground. My only suggestion to those who stay here- familiarize yourself with the location before taking off. It isn’t easy to find the first couple of times coming back. The hostel is located inside a park and has very little signage. (Look for those that say “youth hostel”.
They also have a bar but are unable to serve alcohol due to not having a license
T. S.
The beds are very comfortable, the hostel is very nice and the staff friendly. However, not all the people there are nice (guests) and more than once I saw a mouse where the breakfast is served. Good for a few nights, no more than a week...
S. M.
This hostel was very nice and the location is great, but we experienced a few minor inconveniences. The hostel is an easy walk from the Underground and most of the path is well lit. The staff was clear and friendly at check-in.
We stayed in a 15-bed dorm. It was clean and didn't feel that crowded despite having so many people. The beds have an individual plug, a small lamp, curtains all the way around, and a thick comforter. Your bed is assigned at check-in.
For each bed, there is a large locker in the dorm, but you need to provide your own lock and the locker can still open easily if your lock is flexible or too thin. We got a 30mm lock that was sufficient, but a thinner lock likely wouldn't be.
The wifi is free but can be spotty at times, making it difficult to unwind using YouTube, Netflix, or other video streaming.
E. B.
Despite a slightly long check in due to an issue staff where having with an individual and then someone's things in my bed I have to rate 5 stars. The staff were so helpful and friendly even though they had issues to deal with, the lady came and changed my bedsheets and everything so I could occupy my bed, the person obviously couldn't read (or was trying to get away with switching) the building is lovely, all nicely decorated, restaurant is nice, free WiFi.. Great location. I would recommend.
M. W.
Amazing facilities. Comfortable beds. Of you book breakfast online before it's only £4.50 and it's the most amazing buffet breakfast! Welcoming and friendly staff and located in a beautiful part of town.
C. S.
Clean, professionally run hostel, all ages welcomed. Quiet, no road noise as it's in the middle of Holland park. Playground nearby for young children, outdoor Opera next to it in the park, which runs in the summers, you can sit in the hostel courtyard at night listening to opera if that's your thing.
It's about a ten minute walk to the tube stations, 7minutes to bus stops, but as the walk is through a park for five minutes of it it's quite pleasant.
D. J.
Great place to stay. But as a hostel, it also depends greatly on other guests inside the shared room.
The shared rooms is spacious. The temperature is comfortable on the winter, well-heated but not very hot. Each of the beds have their own curtain, lighting, and USB power sockets. The curtains are great for maintaining privacy. The lightning is great for you that want to do reading when the room lights is off. The USB sockets (only 1 in each bed though) is perfect so you don’t have to use your EU/US adapter.
The beds are also comfortable, and clean when you check in. The location requires bit of walking from the main street, which can cause problems for those that can’t walk far. At night it is pretty lit, but it is located on the middle of the park so expect some darkness too. The location is pretty close to two tube stations, Holland Park on Central line and High Street Kensington on Circle/District line.
Breakfast is £4, which is quite cheap but also good. Check out is strictly 10 AM.
Overall a great option for affordable accommodation on central London.

Had a great stay at Safestay. The hostel is clean and modern. Great location in the beautiful Holland park. Little tricky to find but very easy once found it once. Staff cry friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
R. L. M.
This hostel was great, the outside courtyard is a cool space and they have a pool table and big social room. The bunks have private curtain rails too, so very cosy. Generally the space seemed fresh, clean and even vibrant.
M. R.
Everything is great except I have trouble with the card to get in my rooms since beginning for 6 days stay here. Hope it won’t happen again . I will stay another two days more before I return to USA. On May 2&3. The price is good. I wish it will include the breakfast.
A. B.
When I got there I was quite happy! It looked clean, my room had it's own bathroom with separate shower... the breakfast was a little over priced for what it was, but I was willing to let it go. I took off a star when I realised that the fire escape in the room had been padlocked shut.
I took off another star because during the 2 nights, I was mauled by FLEAS!!! (I CERTAINLY didn't have them before I got there, I thoughly washed EVERYTHING the moment I stepped inside my brother's house the next day, and haven't had a problem since!
S. B.
I went there for a concert and spent some time to look around. Quite lovely atmosfere, young staff, clean environment (don't know about the rooms).
Free WiFi available across all areas, bar with few options for both food and drinks.
The park around is quite nice too, unless you walk alone at night :)
S. M.
Rooms were reasonably clean, although the service left much to be desired. Great location although the rooms were all very dark and very cramped. Wifi was also very hard to connect to and had a very weak connection.
L. B.
Set in Holland Park, Safestay is a great value for your money. Quiet but still close to public transport, some points of interest are even within walking distance (National History Museum, V&A Museum, etc.). Rooms are clean and there's a curtain around the beds for privacy. Breakfast was not included but you can get it for 5£ extra, same goes with other necessities like towel, toothbrush etc. Overall it was a good experience, just keep in mind it is a hostel.
I. A. T. S.
This is one if the best hostels I've ever stayed in. Very clean. 24 hour staff. Great cafeteria. I like the privacy curtains around each bed too.
L. D.
In a secluded area, but during the day it can be accessed by walking through the park which is lovely. Lockers & towels are for purchase. Stylish & modern, clean, great amenities, and very secure.
S. I.
Nice, modern hostel, located in the heart of Holland Park with very nice cafeteria and garden with a pond and Koi fish, how awesome is that? The beds are nice and the rooms very clean. The showers facilities are not that great and also wifi connection in the room was quite poor.
D. S.
The place to stay in centre of London if you are looking for a hostel with reasonable price. It is located beside Holland Park Kensington near Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace. The room and bathroom are clean. It has a big restaurant area where you can have breakfast for 4 Pounds. You can have also lunch and dinner with reasonable price. There are Pool room, huge garden and even ATM. The staff are friendly and helpful. If I visit London again I consider to come back next time.
X. X.
The facilities are good by London standards. 2 toilets and showers for a dorm of 27 meant lines in the morning. I was up very early so it didn't bother me much but others were quite annoyed. Bunks are triple deckers which sucks but they did have light, power, and curtains. No kitchen but plenty of common space.
P. O.
They call themselves safe stay.. but.. It's ironic. 21 beds in a dorm, 3 levels of each beds. Some strange types walking around (homeless? drug dealers?..). Trying to talk to you. Fights at night in the room - even the receptionist can't shut up those crazy marginals... There are NO locks on the room's lockers. If you want a lock, you need to buy it. but here they're out of locks. SO go and buy it somewhere else. Same for earplugs.
Food in the cafe is mediocre. Soup tasted as if out of can. Pizza - frozen pre-made... :(
Irritating pop music sounding at every corner.
Pleasant parts - very nice garden! Great park around! Birds, trees, squirrels. Pleasant interiors of everything except the dorms themselves. Renovated showers. Old building. Nice and comfy lobby, computers, wifi..
overal - positive.

Clean and calm. The no-alcohol policy is a good thing, which is a pro for some but a con for the more party-going traveller. You can reach any place in London from either Holland Park or Kensington High Street (just a short walk). Overall a very good place to stay when visiting London.
They made no problem out of it when I had booked for the wrong date, and gladly helped us out even at 1AM.
Second time I've stayed here, will likely return.
T. S.
Very nice place in a beautiful park. Cheap with a lot of accomodations. The staff was very nice and interested in their customers. The breakfast is not so British. There is a lot of rooms to relax and watch TV. Internet access. Near the tube. Only ten minutes from the city center.
J. B.
Pretty nice by hostel standards, and in a beautiful park right next to the design museum. Easy walking distance to two Underground stations and plenty of restaurants and cafes. The staff are friendly but often overwhelmed. The luggage storage area leaves much to be desired.
A. B.
Lovely staff, modern and renovated, usb charging slots at the beds so you don't even need the British thingy to charge your phone. You can buy the most necessary items like rain coats ;D and flip flops and pad locks. I recommend the breakfast for 5 pound,
D. P.
Location is horrible as you have to walk down a long dark path if arriving at night and didn't feel very safe doing that. The actual hostel however was really nice and the beds had curtains on them so you could be nice and private.
A. Y.
Dorm beds have a low ceiling for the bottom/mid bunks, there was no way for me to sit upright. Staff super friendly and welcoming, amenities great. Location is also in a quiet part of town. All in all a great experience here.
P. D.
Great Staff! Very helpfull! The room where I stayed in was clean and the bathrooms were always clean too. Good buffet breakfast. I'll be back.
M. t.
Stayed there for 5 days and overall had a good time. Staff was nice and the area was very relaxing to hang out. Only thing that could really be improved is the internet connection. Great place and nice location.

My kids and i love these place..!
at first, a bit worry because of the negative review but i love the location in the vast garden, i love kyoto garden and my kids love
holland adventure park (my 2 boys age 7 and 10)! our triple room is nice and comfy, feel safe here,.but not suitable walking here after dark - scary :D
I think better stop at kensinton tube station because holland park station need to hike a bit using holland walk.. so tired after long day visiting places! will come again!

This place was meh. I was put in a room with a bunch of imbeciles, and one took a dump so stinky it stank out the toilets for three days. The beds were fineish and the room sizes were atrocious. I would rather scrape my eyes with a spatula then stay in the same room with a bunch of nobs for one day. I demand no compensation, but the mocha I had was not numero uno. The hotel looked fine and staff were pengers. Also, the bathrooms were Co genders, and I walked in on naked 11 year olds twice. Once when I got off the bog. All in all it was Pedo Claudo, solidly Pedo Claudo.
N. D.
Good location.Restaurant good value but staff are learning English and are a bit inexperienced.I was sold a token for breakfast which was the same price as the breakfast and is easily lost? Why?you can just pay for breakfast. However were very helpful about the luggage on the last day
A. Y.
It's a great hostel, I keep coming back. It's convenient being off Kensington high Street and Holland park is great. There are Japanese gardens and the design museum, just over the road there's a Waitrose (head there 6pm for knockdown food)
J. t. T.
I’ve stayed here many times when I come to London. I spend time here at Summer one week ,Autumn one week and Winter 2 weeks. Very clean beddings but a little bit uncomfortable showers. Breakfast is just okay but not that good. I love the garden. You can see many squirrels though the window. I recommend you to stay 9-12people dorms. 30-33 dorms are too noisy. I love to be in the nature so it doesn’t bother me to stay here but it takes 10-12mins from High Street Kensington station and 12-15mins from Holland park station so if you have massive luggage, it wouldn’t be easy to come here. But I want to recommend to stay here. The beddings are so clean and fresh. I always saw cleaners keep clean the buildings. Staffs are mostly friendly. :-)
J. J.
Nice location right next to holland park, had a mix up with my start booking date.. when i arrived a day later, they had given away my bed away which originally very much aggravated me as i thought even though i made a mistake with the start date, i had paid for the bed regardless for a few days so the bed should have been available. Luckily i had a friend around the corner i could count on but i didn't want to have to.. they originally took the full amount for a few days but after an e-mail with management, they swiftly reimbursed the no-show fees. So a good place to get your head down but its very busy and be careful with the dates of booking to avoid any errors like i experienced and if so, go straight to management and don't talk to anybody else.
S. C.
The rooms were spacious and clean, and the toilets and showers were all hygienic.
It's located close to a metro station, and next to a park between two main roads. Rec room was decent enough as well, with seating and a pool table.
O. D.
We had one room for 3 person. It was very nice, cozy room with the view in the nice garden. Place is very nice and comfortable to stay with children too. Hope I will return here again 😊
Z. M.
I have been staying for three days now, In my opinion, this is very nice. It is a Hostel and I have judged it as such.
PROS: inside a lovely park, fish in the pond in the courtyard, lovely kensington location, nice facilities.
Cons: Needing to walk around 250m to public transport (not a problem if you're fit, there is also london cycles outside with thirty minutes free ride.) No car parking or access.
S.
The staff and location were both great. It's situated in a park so there wasn't any outside noise but some guests were noisy. I wasn't a fan of the room that I chose due to the 3 tiered bunk bed and you couldn't sit without slouching. I would recommend choosing a room with fewer beds.
C.
Good beds. Wonderful staff. Nice, well valued breakfast. Just the toilets are a bit lacking, my room of ~15 had one toilet. At the value, certainly a worthwhile visit.
D. B.
This was my first experience using the accommodations of a hostel. The Hostel is located in the spacious and beautiful Holland Park in the Kensington/Chelsea area of London. Hostel Staff was helpful, accommodating, and friendly. It's a very convenient location for tourists taking in the sites and sounds in and around London with easy access to both Tube Staions and buses. I met and made friends with people from around the world which made the experience even better! Most definitely would stay here with them again in the future! Highly recommend this for other travelers!
K. N.
I would give it 5 stars but there is no kitchen or microwave. You have to eat at the restaurant they have or eat out every meal which is expensive. But, the location is great and the rooms are very clean! This is a great hostel!!
D. G.
Way too small rooms for triple bunk beds. I couldn't sit up in my bed and I am far from being tall. Kept banging my head, especially when trying to get in or out of the bed (I was in the middle bunk). Still give it three stars for the beautiful park it's in, its great location and the friendly staff
Y. H.
Best on weekdays, but pretty good anyway! Clean and showers are hot! Only wish they had a kitchen to use, or even just a microwave/kettle without begging the staff
T. T.
Convenient location with an underground station just a few minutes away. Quiet place, pretty clean room and bathroom. Stayed in a 4-bed. Although the choice of purple for the rooms is a bit weird lol.
M. S.
Great art all around this hostel. Extra bed curtains for more privacy. A bit overpriced but is really nice place. Would recommend
Y. G.
It was very hard to find when I arrived at night. It was very dark and the path is lit but still eerie. It’s literally in the park with an entrance that isn’t very noticeable. But it’s a great location and pretty in the day. The room was clean. Shower was clean.
J. B.
Clean, good value and 5* location.
N. B. H.
It'a small budget place, but the location is great! Inconvenient, small shower / toilet for a 9 bed dormitory but I recommandé if you are on a tighed budget and need a place in West London.
W. T.
Nice rooms with a separated douche and toilet. The only downside for some people is the fact that there are 3 beds above eachother. So you won't have much space to sit in bed.
T. D.
This really is an excellent hostel, with bright and clean rooms, good beds, excellent facilities and all set in really beautiful surroundings. Worth paying a few extra quid when comparing to other hostels in London.
A. B.
It's only our first night, but so far so good! Friendly helpful staff, convenient and beautiful location, comfortable enough beds, and all the basics we need.
S. R.
Loved this place! Great service, quiet, spacious, clean rooms, location is perfect, the park is just beautiful. Thank you!
A. R.
Great place to stay. Beds are comfortable, facilities are good, staff is friendly. A bit of a hassle to get to the place and not that focused on community and events. Food was ok.
N. H.
The location was perfect and gorgeous.
The room was lovely and well equipped.
The only fault with the room was that the safe was broken and so we didn't have anywhere to keep our valuables.
L. C. G.
Mediocre hostel. Terrible towel policy that forces you to buy a towel instead of renting one...
Beds are okey but showers were dirty and broken.
You get what you pay for.
S. B.
A nice and cozy place to stay in for a couple of days. It is located in the middle of the park and it feels like you aren't in the city.
Definitely worth the price you pay.
S. G.
Really kind placee People can relax there and also make the activities that are next to the hostel in the park. Quiet and ready to make friends of your ages. I love itt
T. J.
I didn't stay there myself, but picked up my girlfriend and her friends from there on the morning after their stay. They loved it, and said it was very good value for money. Will be personally staying there soon!
S. S.
1. Location is excellent: start the day with a walk in mesmerising Holland park, Kyoto garden, and the neighbourhood of Kensington.
2. Front desk staff are super helpful. They will surely help with your requests if it is within their control (such as bed switch when not fully sold out).
3. Public transport options are plenty:
Santander cycle hire dock just outside the hotel is super convenient to buzz around Kensington and quickly cycle down to Hyde Park.
If cycling isn't your thing, London's flagship bus number 9, and two tube stations on either sides, is more than enough.
4. Good cheap eating places around are plenty: just cycle or walk down to Kensington High Street.
5. Last but not least, this hostel is clean, and beds are comfortable.
a. v.
Beds are comfortable and clean. Staff is friendly. Only concern is that in the 15 man room that i was in there only was one toilet and one shower
T. S.
Rooms are quite clean. Very quiet. Not the type of hostel to visit if you want to meet new people or party.
O. E.
there were too many insects inside the room. We heard a lot of voice from updtairs, even the steps that they are making. Thats why it was a noisy place.
M. B.
Breakfast OK, area good, atmosphere OK. Generally OK hostel, however, it has some downsides. Unisex toilets and showers are not acceptable. Furthermore, walls behind beds need cleaning, they are full of buggers.
S. K.
This is a very good value and stylish hostel. It’s actually right smack in the middle of beautiful Holland park which makes it well located for both Notting Hill, Westfield Shopping mall and High Street Kensington, as w
M.
Nice hostel, staff maybe need to work on their customer service a little but the room was nice so no complaints. Location a little secluded.
P. P.
Very nice location, clean facilities and a very friendly staff. I can recommend this hostel very much and would definitely come back here at my next visit.
K. B.
Great location although a pretty long walk from the road but in a great neighborhood. Rooms are good, could use more or separate bathrooms, breakfast was ok
E. T.
Nice for a hostel. Staff very helpful. No door for the shower room in a mixed dorm which was a bit odd.
R. F.
Beautiful and confortable place, nice people working there, hot shower, good breakfast, crossing the holland park you can find a witrose supermarket ,5 minutes on foot. I made good friends there
I like it, I'll be back for sure!
n. N.
The staff is really nice and helpful. The hygiene level is really good. It is in the middle of a park so there is a short walk to wherever you want to go.
E. C.
Staff was not very friendly. Rooms were smaller than many hostels but the shared bathrooms were good
C. D.
+: buffet breakfast for about £4, quiet location, each bed in the bunker has curtain
-: poor wifi in the room, no kitchen, not enough shower/toilet
J. P.
Lovely place to stay toilets and showers needed a clean but found others, bring headphones 1230am someone dried their hair in the room
P. F.
A really lovely hostel, everything was clean. Breakfast filling and tasty. Very reasonable rates.
H.
Everything was incredibly great services and bed. But only thing which I disliked was a limited of wifi coverage even when i lied kn my bed I still couldn't get it.
L. R.
Popped in to have a look. Lovely gardens, feels safe, cheap food and drinks in the bar, pool table and ping pong tables. Laundry room.
M. S.
Fantastic rooms, clean friendly and great atmosphere , we won't stay in any other hostel when visiting London from now on!
B. P.
Really good venue but best part is how close it is to the hidden gem that is holland park. The kensington restaurant scene is all not to far away. There is also the cultured nottinghill gate scene which can be accomponied by many other central locations.
G. C.
One of the best hostels in london, cheap, clean and an incredible chillout areas. Breakfast was also good, staff are friendly.
B. K.
Stayed one night. Very friendly staff and a great nights sleep in comfortable bed. Would highly recommend.
J. J.
friendly and helpfull staff. The bathrooms were always clean aswell as the rest of the place. Great location!
T.
A bit difficult to find at first (after 8pm you can go inside only through a small gate on Holland walk), but very clean, quiet and well equipped.
A. C.
+ good wifi
+ privacy curtains
+ lockers
+ clean showers and toilets
+ power socket next to bed
+ close to High Street Kensington
- none, pretty good place for a couple of nights

For small budget that s great. Take a bed in the room for 4 that s not super expensive and it will be very quiet !
A. L.
Nice place in an amazing park. Quiet and pacefull. Great staff and good breakfast for only 5 pounds
K. E.
Great place, great location, friendly staff. Clean rooms. Great breakfast for just 4 pounds
M. R.
Really good hostel I stayed in, the staff was really helpful and the dorm was really clean ! It is perfectly located in Kensington London!
B. H.
Great quiet hostel. You can hear the opera concerts from the garden. No elevator. And its uphill.
k. l.
This hostel is located inside Holland Park. I like the dining room that serves £5-7 meals.
D. K.
Really clean hostel, comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff and lots of greenery around. I'd recommend it.
B.
Nicely equipped hostel with nice staff. Calm environment but takes quite a bit to get into town.
T. M.
It was hard to find in the midnight since it's located in the park and all gates to the park were closed. But, facility, service and cafeteria were nice to stay.
T. G.
Ok for short night stay but too many issues with hostel , cleaning is worst there was poop unwashed in the toilet bowl and I felt disgusted, mixed dormitories are very noisy and bar too at night ... disturbance every where
The only thing good about my stay was customer service ... all of them were nice Eastern Europe and Indian person ... very nice customer service ... giving 3 star bcoz of customer service otherwise it was 2
K. A.
7 out of 10 the facilities is good and the atmosphere is good. it's a good place to meet new people. The staff are friendly
J. B.
Very nice hostel in Holland Park and staff seems friendly but not many informations about the hostel on your check in...
S. A.
Small clean rooms. Exorbitant pricing and weirdly an in-house bar restaurant with no alcohol or food... Excellent location,
F. A.
I stayed here on the new year night 2016.
I enjoyed my one night stay. Very modern cheap, clean place to stay.
E. P.
The place was really nice to stay in, the area was clean and the surroundings really pleasant.

Although perfect, giving 4 stars, as it is at least 10 minutes walk away from nearest tube station. Really enjoyed my stay
s. c.
Always a great stay, friendly staff, clean rooms in a lovely setting!
M. G.
Great staff. Unfortunately a lot of cracking users and people who just got out of jail. A lot of needle use. But staff are great.
c. h.
Amazing quality at really cheap prices- better than most hotels I've stayed at here and a fraction of the cost
P. W.
Well run, feels safe and generally good. Cleaning of the bedrooms could be improved
A. S.
This hostel was very clean and nice. Only downside is the "bar" can't serve alcohol.
A. a.
Nice place for bachelor's to stay! Just good or the price you pay, don't expect much!
r. j.
Great! Other that the shore battle and teeth grinding orchestra going on all night. All the staff are great 👍
M. G.
Very cosy place in a good location. However the gardens close at 10pm and the bar at midnight... A bit disappointed by this !
P. G. C.
A couple of friends stayed there. It seems that they were pretty friendly with them. So far so good!
K. D.
Very nice Garden, nice Park around and the Hostel itself was nice too ! But I give only 4 Stars as it was a little bit confusing how to get in, especially at night when they close the door.
A. J.
Dark path to get to the hostel. Friendly reception staff. Room and bed comfy
S. G.
Excellent. Service, facilities, surroundings! Totally recommended for an affordable stay!
R. S.
Rooms are a bit crowded with beds, but that's the only complaint. Great service and location.
M. H.
Three level bunkbeds, towels extra, hard to get to at night cause the surrounding park is closed.

A hostel in a park with large common area but no kitchen. Not far from Underground.

This a great hostel in the Holland park. The rooms are generally in good condition and regularly cleaned.
There is a game room fitted with pool table and ping pong table. Prices are affordable. As it is located in the Holland Park, it is convenient to take a walk and discover the place. You will find several flower gardens, playground, sport field and a cafe.
Great location, 20 min walk from Hyde park, 20 min walk from sheperds bush Westfield, the supermarkets, bus stops are 8-15 min walk. My only complains would be about the rooms, as they have no propper ventilation, no AC or a fan. It is painful to stay in the hot room. The other thing would be the shower's famously horrible Push-button. What gives you 5 seconds running water at the time, you basically have to keep pushing it while you taking a shower.

(Translated) It's hard to say why, let's say, booking.com shows 4 * for this hotel - it's really a hostel, as already noted in the reviews. This does not mean that it is bad here. Rather, this place has its merits and demerits.
We liked the location. Holland Park is a beautiful rather large park, almost immediately behind the hotel - like a natural forest, on the other hand - sports grounds and a summer opera. Squirrels, foxes, and other animals. There are fish in the pond. There are huge oaks all around. Silence. The area itself (if I'm not mistaken, this is South Kensington) is also very quiet and pleasant.
This is not the center of London in the literal sense of the word, and you will have to walk quite a bit to the nearest subway station. Well, probably about 10 minutes - while you can walk in three different directions, it seems on four different lines. There are buses near the subway. To a cent (Piccadilly or Oxford Street) - about 10-20 minutes. You can buy something you need there, at the subway stations, no closer.
The rooms are not very comfortable, and frankly, furniture for a 4 * does not pull. Soundproofing is so-so - before our departure, a large group of young people from France settled in the hotel, and not that they made noise - they just walked in the room above us, and you could hear it quite well.
What I didn't like very much is the high humidity. And for some reason it was in this place - a little later we stayed in another hotel for three days, and everything was fine, and the weather was the same. The hotel is hardly to blame. If anything, you can use the laundry room with a dryer.
The restaurant and food in the hotel ... for the level of a hostel, perhaps it is normal, it cannot be called particularly diverse, but there are no complaints about the quality. But I would say that Pret a Manger will be better for our taste.
(Original)

(Translated) Considering that it is only to get to sleep, I liked it, and it is economical.

Considerando que solo es para llegar a dormir, me gustó, y es económico.

(Translated) Very nice place well located, beautiful garden with lots of vegetation and squirrels. Large rooms but not enough space because too many beds and not enough light in -> lack of window (2 very small windows for a room of 13 people). Very good lunch, lots of food choices and plenty of room but not enough room to eat a big table more would have been great when the hostel hosts a lot of school groups. One more note regarding the showers as there was only one in our room of 13 and only 2 in the room that was outside the room. The staff was ok but a little lack of kindness.

(Translated) The location is not great, but quite good. The hostel is well within the park. It has its small walk for the 2 subway lines and quite far from a supermarket.
The service is acceptable although they charge too much. If it is not yet check-in time and you want to leave your luggage, you have to pay. Acceptable rooms.
The worst thing is that it does not have a shared kitchen, or microwave or anything so that you can bring food from outside. They have a kind of bar / restaurant where you can eat but it would be nice if they at least offer that.
