G. W.I visited for a coffee and then a Guinness with a potential client at the "Rear Window" bar. I was glad to be able to lock up my bike to some bike staples in the hotel car park.
Prices were good, and the roaring log fire was welcoming and warm. The bar was busy with diners, but we found a space and I was reassured by the staff's COVID-safe protocols.
I had a good time and my client was impressed with my knowledge of the place and the surrounding area.
K. l.What a wonderful surprise! We went to the restaurant on a Saturday night and the bar restaurant was full and everyone was having a great time. The staff are incredibly friendly and will do anything they can to accommodate you. The bar is a lovely setting, very cosy with open fire and oil candles on each table, very atmospheric. (They are moving the restaurant to a different area next year but sure that will be just as good). The food was delicious. Being set in the quirky surroundings of the old hotel and the nods to the Hitchcock theme make it really special. Think this will end up being a real destination restaurant as it becomes more well known.

Staff were extremely accommodating and attentive and the food was superb, I'm still thinking about the prawns. Can't wait to return and try out Sunday lunch, such a great renovation and addition to the local neighbourhood.

N. S.Love this place, awesome vibe and music. Delicious food, quite pricey but staff are amazing. long time for food to arrive last time we went but had chef staffing issues.

The rooms are really nice, the staff are very wecoming.
Theres a secure carpark they lock at night, you have to go under the building to get to it. A low top van will fit under but a high top won't fit under nor will a low top with roof rack.
There is on street parking locally (try down forest glade) but remove valuables from van before parking up.

On the edge of Epping Forest (Hollow Ponds), dog friendly and under new management who are delivering excellent service with the added attraction of a fantastic play list- what more could you want? We have spent both evenings and afternoons here in their outside dining pods during the last 4 months and have not been disappointed. The menu caters for all tastes, the staff are warm and welcoming and the vibe is; "we may be new at this but we have loads of ideas to make this a real local institution' which is long awaited (and new) to the Upper Leytonstone area. We were greeted like old friends and were waited on by the wonderful Oliver who delivered charisma and efficiency in equal measure to ensure we had a wonderful afternoon. Don't take my word for it- go there and see for yourself- i guarantee you will not be disappointed.
R. S.New management have turned this old pub into a lively spot with great drinks and bar food. Plenty of covered spaces outside (with heating!) and super professional and friendly staff. A great place to bring dogs and babies by day - but a sophisticated and vibey place for grown-ups when the sun goes down. Chuffed to have this as our new local!

l. w.This place has come on leaps and bounds over the past year/18 months. What was very tired, old and not a particular nice place to go has undergone a real change and has had some love, care and attention given to it. We went for lunch and the service was excellent. On a hot day we were given a glass of iced tap water each without asking for one and they were topped up without asking too. The service in general was polite and attentive without being overbearing which is a huge plus point. The food and drink though is very expensive without being memorable taste wise. We went for lunch and there wasn't really a quick lunch menu (eg a range of sandwiches) or much in the way of vegetarian or vegan options which is disappointing. It also commits the cardinal sin of making you order chips as a side to your burger (tsk tsk). The restaurant is in a really nice location with fantastic service and all involved deserve huge credit for how they have turned it around. A few tweaks in terms of the menu and price will turn this location into 5 stars

D.Used to be a great place however change of management has killed the place, firstly they " lost" our booking , secondly the menu is small and with just " fancy" food, not child friendly and well over prized, then the food took over an hour to be served, when it was served it was cold and undercooked. Waiter had an aptitude when we asked about the food " what you want me to do?" Was his response..
We used to go often but we will not be going again.
T. S.The new owners have done a great job renovating the front garden (we didn't go inside). Great French cider (cidre Breton) and my wife had the camden IPA. Lovely sitting out in the sun. Waiting staff all very polite and well dressed. Looking forward to trying the new restaurant when it opens. 4 stars rather than 5 because the drinks took a little while to arrive despite only 3 tables with people at. It's also a little noisy by the main road, but the raised flower beds do a good job of shielding most of the noise.

A. A.A service which is warm and personable goes so far in terms of repeate business and feelings support for local businesses. I felt the particular service I received was distant, robotic and sterile. If a machine served the beer the experience would have been no different.

Don’t be fooled by the tired exterior, though i suppose that’s part of the charm of a Hitchcock hotel. Service was great, as was the food. Great little find on the edge of Walthamstow and Epping forest. Will be returning post walks!
A.Location amazing. Nice, big park is opposite the hotel. Food was delicious especially burgers. Good size portions. First time visited the pub and I was expecting more of a Hitchcock, but didn’t feel much of a history and theme. Service was alright, but could be improved. All in general was happy with the experience and I could recommend this place.

A. B.I enjoyed my stay at the Sir Alfred Hitchcock hotel. The room was quite nice and clean. The bed was comfy. My only issue with place is the WiFi speed, it was very slow. If the WiFi was faster then it would be a 5 star.
L. P.The room and toilet size was big. The bed was a standard double size but it was a spring mattress. Very quiet at night, this is perfect for a nice repairing sleep. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice: cereal, milk, coffee and tea and full English breakfast with eggs prepared while you wait. Epping forest is just across the road if you enjoy walking in the nature. I would definitely recommend to stay here.

This remains one of our favourite local bars and restaurants. Great food, generous portions, the best steak this side of Hawksmoor.

Good interiors. Free parking. We had gigantic pizzas there at the restaurant. Drinks were good too. Outside seatings in front are too.

Bad points:
- First there were not enough water pressure to fill the bath. Needed to change the room. Well, the next room gas this strange instant boilers where you pray to adjust the right temperature
- The hotel need seriously refurbishment and to be renovated. A big one.
- I didn't see anything Hitchcock related expect the Wi-Fi password. Why?
- Old locks on the doors - sometime you can struggle to unlock it.
Positive:
- Not bad price for breakfast included.
- Most of the staff put some real effort to help me. The old lady who prepare the breakfast is a little strange, but hey no tummy problems at all after that :)
- Relatively clean
- Clean towels
- Free parking. Yes, this is a big bonus for London.
- Nice park opposite
- Well, not the best breakfast, but plenty of it.
- You can book it the old way via phone only with a very short notice with no breaking your wallet - the hotel has fixed prices, correct at July 1017
Will I go again? Possibly yes.

L. b.Had a roast dinner at the Hitchcock a couple of weeks ago and it was actually very nice. Very tasty with good portions. Only had lamb or beef on the menu though and a choice of two puddings is not enough. Sticky toffee pudding would be perfect. :)
J. D.I've only stopped here for drinks after longish walks around Hollow Pond. very reasonably priced drinks and a nice open fire in the bar area. Friendly staff and I found the bar very cosy - real wood! Nice to go to a bar which hasn't been modernised so much its lost any character.
b. b.Amazing staff. Nice atmos and free snacks if you join in the quiz every Tuesday. Sit next to the open fire whilst you get guess who that actress was in that movie.
T. H.Nice and somewhat secluded location, this place is quite interesting and the interior does reflect the 'psycho' aura. The staff are friendly and tend to be busy but attentive. I'd go again just to check it out more in detail.
