G. W.So … I think this is probably a pretty fair review. The staff, facilities, location and price are all absolutely paramount (as far as a budget hostel is concerned). No complaints about those in the slightest. However you must be prepared for the wide variety of clientele. That’s nothing against the establishment (or the clientele) but it something you must be prepared for. (Mask and ear plugs are an absolute must).
A. D.It is an okay Hostel! It's cheap and very clean but it doesn't feel comfortable. It's also very small and everything is white, which comes down to what you prefer. The staff were really nice and friendly though. The rooms themselves were small but doable, windows could open, but the actual size of the beds was too small.
W. S.Facilities are rather straightforward for the price, however bear in mind that there are some nicks and bumps here and there. The biggest issue I had was with my roommates, as it seems like nobody had any consideration for people who were sleeping, and a woman who was staying in the room smoked cigarettes in the shared bathroom while she showered.
As much as I hate being a stickler, some basic ground rules, or even a simple reminder to be considerate of others here would be nice, and would better keep civility amongst the guests. I can forgive people for snoring, but if it's 10pm and you decide to turn the room lights on, strike up conversations with people who wanna sleep, and you start watching YouTube with the sound on, then I have a problem with you, that's what the common room is for!
Sorry for the rant but if this makes only one person more considerate in a hostel, then good.
P. L.My first experience of hostel stays was exceptional in every way. The midweek price was unbeatable and the location fantastic with Camden Market a few minutes walk away and not too far from the airport and main attractions of the city.
The lads on the counter we're warm and friendly and very helpful.
The premises are modern and clean feeling fresh after being refurbished. The check in was easy and quick, and the requirement of photo ID was very reassuring safety wise.
Even the triple bunks are very comfortable although they may not look it.
I will definitely be back again soon, no doubt.
If you are staying in London on a budget this is the place.
D. A.They best hostel in London. I've stayed in many in hostels due to work. In search of the holy grail of hostels this is the best ever. Probably the best in Europe, oh but we're British so best in England and Europe. I can not find a single fault and I normally do. What a awesome place.
A. M.Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Facilities were good - nice lounge with plenty of desks and plug sockets, TV room and fully equipped kitchen. I stayed in a mixed 6 bed dorm which was clean, the bunk beds were comfortable enough and there were lockers in the room (a padlock can be purchased from reception for £4). Price was very reasonable, highly recommend hostel in the heart of Camden Town 👌🏻
P. B.New hostel. New rooms, beds and shower. I find a little tight in space. But it is ok for short stays. Weak point is the time to get the breakfast served, start at 8:30 am. So not very good if you have to get early. Another weak point is not having laundry service available.
S. R.It's clean, nice and really friendly staff. Will suggest to take a 10 bedroom it's huge otherwise 6 bedroom one too small . Otherwise go for personal rooms but my recommendation is 10 bed room !

H.Was clean and tidy hostel, and wasn't actually too bad price wise for London for a private room, my only complaint would be the walls and ceilings are like paper and you can hear other rooms easily, so I recommend some quality earplugs for sleeping, luckily I had some but I can see this ruining some people's experiences so thought I'd leave just a bit of constructive feedback. Had a great time otherwise, camden is definitely one of the best little areas of London.
B. A.If you ever want to experience how it feels to be a navy soldier, this is the perfect place. The room my friends and I (we were about 6 people) were placed in was quite small and additionally the beds were so tightly put together that you felt like you were part of a maritime force. The location is very good, the metro is not far away and near the inn there are restaurants and a lot of intresting shops which reminded me of the turkish bazaar.

F. D.It is a small hostel in Camden member of the Smart Hostel chain. The staff is friendly, the place generally clean. The cleaners constantly working to keep the communal areas clean. The room was in ok state, clean the beds the linen clean. Free breakfast basic but is good enough to start your day. The reason for giving only 3 stars, the fact the place quite worn down and I found very inconvenient the toilets located one in the first floor and two in downstairs. Then every time you need to use the toilet have to go down or up depending witch one is available.
W.I had a good experience. Very friendly staff and I met some nice and lovely people. it was nice in the evening talking with other guests in the common room. Camden is a location of London I will recomend to everyone to visit. Staying here was also very nice. clean, good price, friendly people. Also if you are travelling alone.
F. L.Amazing experience! The staff was so polite and honest. The rooms, hallways, bathrooms, toilets .... Everything was clean and well maintained. Lockers were spacious and could properly lock and provide security. The breakfast wasn't something special but it was enough to give that boost in the morning to get you up and running. Even the other people in the hostel were polite and respectful. I never thought I would be having such a good time over there! If you like having some fun there are pubs and bars nearby so the location, the cost and the overall experience are going to be ideal!
PS: The 3 things I fell in love with while on my jorney were London, the hostel and with a bartender! 5 out of 5!

J. P.Tip: Stay here to save money, if you can handle noise and limited space.
We needed a place to stay in London and this place seemed priced well enough. There are a number of things that this place is and that is fine but be prepared.
It had thin walls, so expect to hear a lot of noise. There are earplugs at the lobby if you need some. However, they need to start closing doors to keep the sound in after 11pm.
The rooms are small.This is alright but if you have large luggage, it will be in everyones way.
The kitchen has too many tables and chairs in it. They need to remove some as there are 2 lounges as well so the amount of seating is more of a problem than a help in the kitchen.
There are not enough hooks. They need to invest in hooks for around the room, in the showers, in the bunk beds. Not only does this keep things off the limited floor space, but it means people can hang up towels to dry properly. Put hooks in the bunk bed area as its a good way to hang up a small bag or hat instead of just throwing on the bed somewhere.
They need to add some shelving in the bunk beds to put your phone, glasses, and some small things.
All hostels, including this one should provide a list of etiquette. Everything is a shared space and people do not know or understand this. They should put it at both ends of the bunk bed so people will read it.
The breakfast was basic but good as there were multiple bread options, spreads, and cereals.
M. E.I've used several of Smart hostels and the problematic thing with this one is not all rooms have curtains. Be aware that the larger room doesn't have it. If all had curtains I'd given 5 stars for excellent service and definitely the best one out of Smart hostels in matter of service. Location is quite well to and it's a great place. It's smaller than Smart Hyde park inn, and Russell square. There's a lot of staircases and a small little shop.
L. W.The location is great. A convenient spot for getting around and good food. The hostel itself was clean and nice and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
I stayed in a 6 bed room and the room accommodations were just right.
It is great that breakfast is provided, though it would also be nice if the kitchen were accessible before 7:30am for those early travel days.
The price was a good deal and I would recommend it.
H.If you’re looking for something cheap with a good location then this is definitely the place. It’s good for those who literally just need a place to sleep/shower as it isn’t very spacious. However, it’s really clean and electronic lockers are available to use. The hostel is really close to everything, Camden Town Station is 5 minutes away.
I. M. H.Excellent budget hostel, bathrooms are small but clean, the rooms are very clean and you have a little privacy with the curtains in every bed, breakfast is good. Very close to the centre. The staff who is working here is very sympathetic, welcoming and helpf helpful. I want to thank especially to Itamar who always is very friendly and does all his best to help me.

A. B.There are five floors and no elevator. The stairs are extremely narrow and only one person can pass at a time. I was located on the last floor and taking all of my luggage upstairs was not pleasant. The bathroom in the room doesn't have any form of ventilation, so when you finish showering it feels like a sauna, also the entire floor gets wet, so it's really hard to get dressed in there. On the other hand, the hostel is located in a great neighborhood, with many markets, restaurants and pubs nearby. The staff is also very nice.
N. D.We knew we were choosing a cheaper hostel so the quality didn't shock me. The two reception staff we dealt with seemed half asleep and were really slow and fairly disinterested. The whole hostel is very cramped. Our 6 bed dorm reminded be of a 6ppl cabin on a sleeper train in Asia. Everything was clean and hostel was warm. They make you pay £1 for locker. Breakfast was today and cereal and was decent but again, not enough space for all hostel guests to enjoy it
A. E.For roughly £10 a night, the last thing you should have is high expectations. Considering the low cost, it doesn't feel right to complain or award anything lower than 5 stars. You get what you pay for, which is a roof over your head and somewhere to sleep. Staff are friendly. Rooms are tiny and cramped, including bathrooms. Other guests can be the difference between an okay stay and a visit that's not so pleasant (some people just have strong body odours or snore). I wouldn't use the kitchen for much other than sitting around, personally, but that might simply be snobbery. The best rooms have curtains around the bed for privacy and they all have lockers as far as I know.
M. C. (.Rooms are very small, I can barely sit up (I’m 163cm) toilet was clean but for 8 pax per room sometimes you’d have to wait for your turn. The bed is very small as well (if you’re really tall you have to curl a little), the room is really small so if you have a big luggage it’ll be really inconvenient to open it up to take out your things. There’s breakfast that costs 2 pounds that comes with bread and jam & milk and cereal. There’s also juice and coffee. Overall okay for one or two night stay.
K. T.I think for the price this place is super! It was chill and quiet. No sleep disturbances. The rooms were clean, and the service was great. I love the curtains on the beds. Laidback neighborhood with lots of public transportation options.

Some rooms have fans and some don't, mine this time (this is my second stay), did not have a fan. Despite this fact however, I will be staying here on my every visit to London. P.I booked a room for 6 to ensure we would all be together (there was 3 of us arriving together- plus the option of spare beds for friends going to same nightclub) The room was small with nowhere to sit other than the beds, 2 triple bunks plus an en suite- With lowest mattresses being on the ground, it felt a bit like a coffin when I went to bed and pulled the curtains along the bed. (No window curtains). Also I assumed we would get to use the in room lockers for storage but they didn't open for our keys (I think if u were sharing with strangers they probably would work) we had our stuff on floor and beds, I'm happy we stuck to 3 ppl-as it would've been very crowded and messy otherwise. The free breakfast was tea, coffee, chilled water, orange juice and tropical juice plus brown/white toast (with margarine, jam, peanut butter and nutella) and some cereals with milk. It is self service. There was also a fridge and microwave to use in the communal kitchen. Looked like a nice garden to sit outside the kitchen too. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was only £4pp for late checkout (1pm instead of 10am). £10pp deposit is payable for room keys on arrival-you get this back when you hand it back. Another note- no towels in room and bedsheets must be brought down to laundry when departing. I used spare bedsheets to dry myself (but I'm sure you can loan towels).
S. G.It's nice for one night. Rooms are clean but tiny! Locker is extremely loud and directly located below the bed (or head of a sleeping person). Bed was ok. Stuff was ok, the checkin girl had a strong Eastern European accent which was hard to understand when your mother tongue isn't English as well. Guy for checkout in the morning was unfriendly.

Overall good for back packers that doesn't ask for much and with basic needs. Since the price is cheap. 5 min walk to the subway.
J. M.Altough the price is good and the WiFi signal is strong there is quite a lot of bad side. The WiFi block many games and the google play store. The beds are smaller and more cramped then in other youth hostels. The room are poorly ventilated if at all. And you need to pay to have locker. Also, the two small lounge are not particularly comfortable. I highly recommend booking at safestay instead.

G. B.The hostel is good. It's definitely one of the best places to stay in London. I was at two other hostels, and like this most. Not everything is perfect, but it's really okay.
When I moved to London I more or less randomly picked this hostel, because it was within walking distance from St Pancras International, and I was arriving by Eurostar. I booked this hostel only for a few days, then changed to another hostel. But after another week I came back. I did not expect to stay at hostels very long, but as flathunting turned out to be tough business, I stayed in hostels some more weeks.
I have also seen a few other hostels, but I really prefer this one. The location in Camden is very good, whatever you are up to. You can go to lots of pubs and bars etc. in Camden easily, but with the Northern line at your doorsteps you can also get everywhere else in London quickly.
Moreover, beautiful Primrose Hill and massive Regent's Park are only a short walk away, as is Regent's Canal.
You can also walk to Fitzrovia, Oxford St, Soho, West End, Regent's St and so on in less than half an hour.
Besides the good location, the general condition of this hostel is also okay. It is a hostel, and it's not perfect. But it's kind of clean, the showers are okay and if you're lucky you can meet some nice people there as well!
The breakfast is by far not the best breakfast you could get, but it's included and not too bad. Who mind's eating a toast and drinking a tea in the morning? If you want, you could still get a more decent breakfast somewhere else.
The staff is also quite helpful and nice, and the reception is open all around the clock.
There is also free wifi which offers not always the most reliable connection, but at least it's free and in general is working most of the time.
If you buy O2 mobile broad band, you can use a hot spot that covers the hostel which is much more reliable than the hostel wifi itself. But O2 mobile broadband also has it's flaws if you e.g. want to use more than one device or let a friend use your USB dongle/wifi access and then want to use it again ... but that has nothing to do with the hostel.
If you stay there for let's say more than a week, it's also handy that you can do your laundry there kind of cheap.
As people are constantly changing, you never know if you will meet some guys you like to hang out with or not, but mostly there is a good mix of people, from tourists who are there for their holidays, via people who are there to visit some events like conferences, to people who work in London and are looking for a room.
As some people I got to know there told me that they already stayed there more than once, I think it is safe to say that this hostel is quite okay and it could be difficult to find one that's much better and still offers a competitive location.
A. V.Good value for money. Location was perfect for me (5min walking from Candem Town metro station) and my room was quiet so I could sleep decently in my two days trip in London.

Privatzimmer für 2 Personen gibt es hier nur leider mit Hochbetten. Zudem ist es sehr hellhörig & dieToilette liegt auf dem Gang. Dusche hat man allerdings auf dem Zimmer(wie es in den Mehrbettzimmern ist weiß ich nicht). Diese war sehr gepflegt und sauber, genau wie das Zimmer. TV funktionierte leider gar nicht & die Betten sind sehr klein. Wenn man größer als 1,75 ist hat man da schon ein Problem. Angestellte waren nett und freundlich. Wirkte auf den ersten Blick alles sehr sanierungsbedürftig, aber das war zum Glück nur an der Rezeption der Fall. Handtücher waren nicht vorhanden & das Klo konnte man nicht zu 100% verschließen. Die Lage ist sehr gut. Mitten im schönen Viertel Camden & nahe der U-Bahn. Zudem viele Restaurants und Supermärkte in der Nähe. Sogar ein Aldi :) Alles in allem war es für eine Nacht ausreichend. Habe mir aber für den Preis von 65€ die Nacht für 2 Personen mehr erhofft.

La salle de bain privative n'est vraiment pas grande et on galère à mettre l'eau à bonne température. La cuisine partagée est infernale tant bien au niveau de la place que de l'hygiène (mais ça c'est plus la faute de certains clients). Attention à bien indiquer votre nom sur la nourriture sous peine de vol. Néanmoins, je trouve le prix assez correct et le petit déjeuner proposé est au final une excellente option. L'auberge est bien situé, à quelques pas de Camden Market, et à proximité de stations de métro et d'arrêt de bus.
Les réceptionnistes et le personnel de ménage ont été très sympa. L'auberge reste une très bonne option si vous souhaitez visiter Londres avec peu de moyens.

On peut bien sûr se doucher mais c'est très difficile. Je retire une étoile parce que c'est ça qui m'a dérangé le plus). Il y a un ventilateur, des casiers (qui coûte 1 livre par jour d'utilisation) et des rideaux dans les lits (je dois dire que j'ai apprécié ces rideaux ; cela gardait un niveau d'intimité acceptable dans le dortoir). Les lits superposés sont très petits donc faites gaffe si vous dormez sous un lit, vous risquez de vous prendre le sommier en vous redressant. Il y a aussi une prise sur le mur à côté du lit, ce qui est pratique pour utiliser le téléphone avant de dormir.
Le petit déj n'est pas gratuit comme le dit Google ; il coûte 2 livres par jour. Mais c'est un très bon petit déj, avec plein de choses à grignoter.
Le personnel était correct dans l'ensemble, je n'ai aucun reproche à faire.
Autre chose : je ne sais pas si le chauffage est élevé ou si l'hôtel absorbe la chaleur extérieure, mais la température de la chambre était étouffante, la nuit je dormais sans la couverture et presque à poil (merci les rideaux). Bon, heureusement je passais plus mon temps dehors qu'à l'hôtel.
Donc voilà un avis que j'ai tenté de rendre aussi complet que possible. Bon voyage :)
