S. R.I went to St James restaurant for an afternoon tea with my cousin and we have absolutely loved it! The chocolate cake deserves 10 stars.
Just looking at the pics you can see why we enjoyed it.

I don't understand why we were only 2 tables when all the other places were fully booked.
S. W.Went for a 2 night stay with a theatre trip booked for matinee on 2nd day. Thefirst night was booked by our daughter who was working in Saudi Arabia and was booking rooms here for company executives so expectations were high.The initial impression was created by the large amount of roadworks in the area and a taxi driver who could not find the hotel! This is just an observation and certainly not something which impacts upon the hotel. Finally upon arrival we were met by at the entrance by a young lady who insisted upon carrying our luggage up the scarlet carpet and into reception. The reception service was excellent throughout our stay. We were given details of our room on the 6th floor and were accompanied there by a receptionist who then informed us about the facilities in the room and across the hotel. We did not have dinner in the hotel as we had pre- booked 2 restaurants before our arrival. We would definitely try the restaurant on another occasion. The room was perfectly adequate for our stay and was very comfortable. The only thing to add here is that my wife does not drink coffee and trying to use a coffee maker to make tea is a faff. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable and the bathroom with his/hers sinks and huge freestanding bath was a delight. The shower sadly looked like an afterthought built too close to the lavatory. The hotel still retains the feel of the gentlemans club with old traditional furnishings in a bar which always seemed to be under-used.Cocktails at £18 seem expensive to anyone from outside London and other prices reflected perhaps upon what this place once was. Breakfast was included within our tariff which was ok given that if booked separately it came with a £28 price attached. It comprised a small buffet and either continental or English breakfast. The English breakfast was good although the very polite waiter did seem to disappear for periods of time such that getting more coffee was not easy. Overall however it was a pleasant stay. Location just off Piccadilly and 10 minutes walk from Green Park tube, Buckingham Palace and 15 minutes walk from Regent St is superb.

Just one example of going the extra mile when me and my friend came in from a night out they gave us the breakfast menu and It didn’t have bacon on we expressed how much we wanted bacon and then at the booked time of 10am breakfast arrived to the room with bacon on too. We were blown away that they went out of their way to ensure we had what we wanted.
The rooms are gorgeous and always immaculately clean.

T. W.St James's Hotel is a central location, but tucked down a quiet side street. This helps ensure you're close to whatever takes your fancy but away from the hustle and bustle of London.
The outside of the building is a little tired, as are some of the interior fittings and it was a disappointment that the bathroom door in our room (409) clearly didn't shut properly.
That said, the service was exceptional. All of the staff were polite and very helpful. The checking in, and out, process was easy and the bag storage was extremely useful.

Rooms are small but nicely kept. Only complaint is that king beds are actually two double beds attached. This leaves an annoying gap in the middle.
Bathroom is nice, but the water temperature is fickle.
Fixtures are lovely. Only issue was the rain shower head was coming loose.

Price is high but the location is amazing.

The bed are some of the most comfortable we ever had. Steps away from Picadilly but tucked in on a quite street by Green Park. The room we had was spotless.

Clean, friendly, heated bathroom floors, rain shower, heated towel rack, luxury soaps, mattress, pillows & comforter were extraordinary. Bonus: free calls to Ireland & USA. The location is perfect, too. Easy, short walk to both Piccadilly & Green Park tubes. Staff is always ready to run out for a taxi as well. Planning to return in April 2019.

K.Wonderful Afternoon Tea experience at Seven Park Place by William Drabble. The service was excellent from the moment you approach the doors to the time you leave. The tea was perfect and the sandwiches and pastries were divine. The champagne was delicious, but ridiculously overpriced (£52 per glass, ouch). The atmosphere was fantastic, from the China to the pink roses adorning the tables and bar. The music was perfectly chosen and offered an incredibly peaceful feeling. The menus being in authentic old encyclopedias was a wonderful and unique touch. Slightly pricey, but well worth it, in my opinion. Cheers
H. J.You have a wonderful bar. The staff was super friendly, I think her name was Samantha. The drinks were great and the mushroom-risotto with parmesan was awesome. The interior was comfortable and the atmosphere relaxed. I liked the pictures on the walls.

I booked a facial and had a mud bath and it was great. The service is top level. My husband checked the sauna and was very pleased so the whole family had a good time.
J. R.This is the height of boutique luxury hotel. The staff was very nice and will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. In addition to the plush comfortable room, the mattress was the most comfortable we have ever slept on. This is the place to go if you want the Royal treatment.
A. L.Wonderful location in St. James's. In a quiet side street just off St. James's Street. The Brooks Club is at the corner of the street. Rooms are the usual small ones at top end London hotels. Quite nice. Don't know why many London hotels have such small round bottomed bathtubs that you are expected to take a shower in. Quite dangerous.

I. Y.I attended an club dinner event at the hotel and the service and hospitality was outstanding. A warm welcome as I entered the hotel and the staff were polite and friendly throughout the evening. I would definitely stay over at the hotel as there is a lot to do around the area and very close to tube.
L.It was so nice 😍 very kind personal, but the shower ist not very accomodate and the room was very hot with a bad climate system. But the hotel is sooo beautiful and amazing to visit again. Also the food is very good.
A.Bursting with historic charm and a lovely destination that’s just off the busy streets of St. James’. The restaurant was going through a refurb so we were sat in the basement library, which had a large sky light so was flooded with atrial light.
They offer an extremely cost effective set menu during lunch which was all wonderfully rich in French gastronomic style and flavor.
Will be returning at the beginning of December for a festive feast with friends.
Ps, restaurant manager Amin is quite the professional, make sure you ask for him!

R. C.This is an outstanding hotel located on a quiet side street just a few blocks from the Green Park tube station. Buckingham palace is just a short walk across the park. The rooms were great but I reserve my highest praise for all of the staff who were exceptional. This is my new favorite hotel when visiting London.

The waitress only came out to take our orders and then to deliver the teas and pastries, but then we couldn't find anyone around to get us refills of tea or to bring us milk (which they originally forgot to bring with the tea). I thought the board games tea concept would be charming but it is novel at best. There are plenty of better tea options in London.
K. V.Old-style English hotel in a very quiet place in the heart of London, close to Piccadilly street and Buckingham palace. From here you can easily reach any sightseeing on foot. Continental breakfast is simply fantastic! You can choose from a wide variety of products (smoked salmon, prosciutto, Brie, croissants, bakery, yogurt, home-made jams, juices, tea, coffee, scrambled eggs, muesli...).
D. D.One of the nicest hotels in London, conveniently located in St James's, close to green park tube station, and walking distance to Piccadilly, Hyde park and Berkeley square. Superlative food and excellent wine list, the restaurant is small and cosy, with a selective amount of customers and the private room, although doesn't have windows, is conveniently located in a library, making it a lovely feature room to enjoy a business meeting and lunch/dinner. The lounge is small and cosy. Overall the feeling is that of a boutique B&B but with a 5 star hotel environment.

Sehr zentral am Green Park gelegenes Hotel mit Geschichte. Durch den Hinterausgang kann man direkt in den Green Park gehen, wo auch gleich die U-Bahn ist. Das Personal ist extrem hilfsbereit und freundlich. Mein Zimmer war in perfektem Zustand. Das Essen an der Bar war gut und es gibt ein klitzekleines Restaurant mit Michelinstern. Die Weinkarte ist exzellent. Würde jederzeit wieder dort buchen. Danke 🦐
