Don't hesitate - just book! Luigi and his wife Elaine are so very helpful that your stay will be welcoming and enjoyable. A great little hotel for a relaxing stay in London. Extremely clean rooms and Hotel, respectful guests, so nice and quiet, professional staff, including cleaners etc. Great location also - close to Hammersmith (all tubes for great access to London) along with Shepherds Bush for Westfield White City - very big shopping mall. Full size Tesco supermarket 50m away. Lots of good cafes, restaurants, pubs, services all within close proximity. A nice little park Brook Green is on your doorstep for walks, greenery, tennis etc. You could even stay here for a long period of time if you are starting to live in London, not just on holiday. Anyway, I cannot fault the place - I know what other London accommodation and operators are like. Fantastic place - thanks, keep up the good work :-)

The owners were friendly and super accommodating. Room was on the small side but had everything I needed. Cleaning staff came by every day. Some noise from neighbors at night. It's in a great location. About a 10 minute walk from Hammersmith station. There's a great fish and chips place nearby and a Tesco right across the street for snacks and toiletries. Would recommend to solo travelers.

Luigi the manager is great. The family lived there. He is very helpful. They remodeled this old Victorian over 8 years, finishing in December. The double room was small and could use more hooks to hang things. But it was lovely otherwise, and the bed comfortable. The shower is new and lovely. Breakfast buffet is included. This hotel is in Hammersmith, west of the City, but easy to get around on the Tube. It is a rather busy street, but I’m sure that is true of most hotels in London.

Great B&B. I was looking for a clean and affordable place to stay during my visit in London with my wife and 2 kids and I chose this because reviews mentioned it was a clean place. Indeed, the room and the entire building was very clean. Beds were good size and perfect mattresses. What came as a surprise was the great breakfast that the owners offered every morning. There was good variety and everything was fresh baked/prepared. Kids loved getting breakfast before hitting the road to explore London. Only 9 minutes walk for Hammersmith tube station. The owners were also very helpful! I definately recommend this place!

I've very much enjoyed my stay at the Star Hotel. The rooms, while "cozy" are fabulously clean. I have loved the complementary breakfast each morning and the location is perfect, as it is just a short 10 minute walk to the Tube or a 15 minute walk to the Westfield Shopping center. Free Wifi (with good connection!!) Cons: no elevators, so you`re going to have to carry your bags to your room. Customer service at highest level. The place is just like home. The facility is very neat and the atmosphere conducive. The manager is a humble servant and care so much for his customers. Star Hotel is going to be my home anytime I am in Hammersmith. Star Hotel, where customers feel at home! The manager's wife is more than a mother to her customers. She is always available as every mother is for her child. I don't wanna comment on their breakfast because it is always serve and on time. You can't imagine I spotted the manager himself doing the cleaning of the rooms! Humble servant! We had a great stay here; originally we only booked one night, but then decided to extend it a couple extra because we enjoyed it so much. The staff was wonderful, the location is very convenient for both transit and great restaurants and pubs, and the room was comfortable and clean.

Staff: the best staff I have dealt with in my travels. They make you feel home. Hotel: it’s clean I would come again. Location: it’s a bit far from the downtown, 30 mins ish by train. As with most hotels of a similar size (approx 26 rooms) the room sizes can vary from compact to more than adequate but they are clean and tidy and the bathrooms are all fairly new. Rooms are currently being refurbished to include LED lighting on the headboards and built in USB power sockets. Breakfast is the usual continental style affair and the owner and his wife and helpers are all very friendly. As a long term occupier due to work the only thing I miss is a small fridge but if you asked the owner I'm sure he'd work something out.

Phenomenal little hotel right on the Piccadilly and District tube lines--easy access to central London, but peace and quiet when you're ready for it. Free breakfast is included with the price of your room. Clean, comfortable--overall, just a gem.

We stayed there for 9 nights. Room is fairly small but clean, the owner was friendly. Breakfast was essential but not too many variety. There are so many hotels in the same street, I may check out others next time.

OK, this review is quite late. We got home from our Europe trip, and got busy. I’ll bet Luigi thought I forgot. My family of five; me, my wife, two teenage girls, and mother-in-law, stayed at the Star Hotel for 4 nights in July. Let me just start with this, Luigi, you did a great job, please extend my thanks to your wife, your sister and the rest of your staff. Both my wife and I had been to London on business, but this was our first trip to London for vacation. On business, we simply booked where our companies advised. For vacation, we wanted bed and breakfast style accommodations. We wanted it to be close to the Tube, and reasonably priced. We got all three from the Star Hotel. The communication with Luigi and Stefania before we arrived was excellent. They advised me that the hotel was “European” style. That meant smaller rooms as compared to U.S. style rooms, and no lift / elevator. We booked two rooms for the five of us. Yes, the rooms were small, but not that small. I am a big guy, and the room was fine. Besides, we were not there to hang out in the hotel. We were there to take in London. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Our rooms were on the ground floor, so the lift was not an issue for us. The breakfast room was nice, and just what I had envisioned in my mind. The food was plentiful, and well prepared. The hotel is about 3 blocks from the Hammersmith Tube station. It took us less than 10 minutes to walk. The area is safe. We never felt uncomfortable walking back to the hotel late in the evening. Let me close with this. Luigi, thanks for loaning me the £10 until I has some local currency. To your wife, thank you for buying cream for my wife’s morning coffee. To the rest of your staff, thank you. I hope to go to London again for our 30th wedding anniversary (2015). We will definitely book with you again.

Initially, we stayed 3 nights at Star Hotel & later we decided to extend 6 more nights. Book directly through Star Hotel web site can save £££ ! Room & toilet are spick & span , including breakfast room too ! The place is cosy & comfortable . Owner & staff are kind & friendly. There is a chinese takeaway restaurant , post office & Tesco supermarket just opposite the hotel. Hammersmith station is just a 10 minute walk away. Direct tube from Hammersmith station to Heathrow Airport . We had a wonderful stay in this lovely hotel.

(Translated) Hotel about 300 meters from Hammersmith station which is well connected with the most important metro lines and therefore to the best attractions in London. We have booked room n. 10 on the first floor on the opposite side of the road that passes in front of the hotel. Room with 4 beds at a slightly higher price for the area but the room was large, spotless, with comfortable beds and with the new bathroom. The owner and the staff speak Italian well and have a promotion that is always active euro = sterling which saves about 11% on prices. Courtesy by almost all the staff and delicious and plentiful breakfast. The only flaw apart from the short distance from the metro 'is that the floors must be made of wood so even with carpets you can hear the steps and movements of the people staying in the room above yours. I highly recommend it to families with children like ours. Noi abbiamo prenotato la camera n. 10 al primo piano sul lato opposto alla strada che passa davanti all'hotel. Camera con 4 posti letto ad un prezzo leggermente superiore per la zona ma la camera era grande, pulitissima, con letti comodi e con il bagno nuovo. Il titolare e lo staff parlano bene l'italiano e hanno una promozione sempre attiva euro=sterlina che permette di risparmiare l'11% circa sui prezzi. Cortesia da parte di quasi tutto lo staff e colazione buonissima e abbondante. Unica pecca a parte la breve distanza dalla metro' e' che i pavimenti devono essere di legno quindi seppur con moquette si sentono i passi e i movimenti delle persone che alloggiano nella stanza sopra la vostra. Lo consiglio vivamente a famiglie con bimbi al seguito come la nostra.

Die Kinder hatten richtige eigene Betten. Die Möbel waren neu, die Wände frisch gestrichen, das Bad sauber und hell. Es gab sogar eine europäische Steckdose und USB Steckdosen. Die Besitzer sind sehr zuvorkommend und helfen gern weiter. Das Frühstück ist einfach und gut. Es gibt Wurst, Käse, die übliche Marmelade Nutella etc, 4 verschiedene Müsli, Gebäck, Säfte, Milch, Joghurts, Kaffee, Tee usw. Wir waren zufrieden und sind immer satt geworden. Auch Tickets wurden auf Wunsch ausgedruckt (online-Eintritt ist günstiger). Da das Hotel an einer Straße liegt, muss man schon mit etwas Straßenlärm rechnen. Dafür ist man aber bereits in der Stadt nah an allen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Ein Tesco Supermarkt ist gleich gegenüber, 2 Malls fußläufig zu erreichen. Wir kommen gern wieder.
