Reviews of Stow-Away Waterloo
If you are ultra lite sleeper you might need hotel out of city. Is some city background sounds, train, and people but very low. Amazing location. Amazing wine bar under hotel. Will be my goto hotel in future trips to London.
Great value for money, amazing location and great communication with staff.
Location
Great accommodation.
We spent 5 nights there and were very satisfied.
It's a container complex, and each container, approximately 22 square meters, is an apartment. Fully furnished, including a kitchen for self-catering.
Very clean!
Central location - 5 minutes to the London Eye and Waterloo Station. However, the disadvantage is that the train tracks are directly behind the building, so there's some background noise.
Housekeeping is provided every 7 days or upon special request. We didn't need it... We slept and showered there.
Great value for money, amenities, and location!
I am leaving a review after staying for 3 days.
It is a good value hotel located within 3 minutes from Waterloo Station.
Since it is unmanned, the hotel entrance keypad password, room number, and room password will be sent to the email you entered when making the reservation between 12:00 and 16:00 on the day of check-in.
The hotel recommends checking in after 16:00, and luggage storage is not provided separately. If you need to store your luggage after early check-in or check-out, please refer to the following two methods.
1. Waterloo Station luggage storage (expensive at 12.5 pounds per 4 hours)
2. Storage at stores around Waterloo using the bag bnb app (5 pounds per all-day)
I used method 1 to store my luggage before check-in, but it was too expensive at 37.5 pounds for 3 pieces. After check-out, I used method 2, which is relatively cheap and reliable. I recommend method 2.
The hotel's advantages are that it is close to the station, it is clean because it was built not long ago, there is a delicious Korean restaurant (Gogopocha) within a 3-minute walk, the first floor lobby turns into a wonderful wine bar at night, a small street food market(?) opens every morning on the street in front of the hotel, it may seem small because it is in a container shape, but it is bigger than you think, etc.
The disadvantage is that it is near the train station, so you can hear train noise all day long. The hotel seems to be aware of this, so if you look closely at the drawer, you can see that there are earplugs. I do not recommend it to those who are sensitive to noise. I am not at the hotel during work, and I am so tired when I sleep that I fall asleep right away, so it was bearable except when I was awake.
Also, the hotel policy states that towels are changed only once a week. If you encounter the room service staff, you can ask for this. You can get additional towels, so don't worry.
Please note that hotel check-out can be done through the hotel's own app. Please carefully read the email sent by the hotel when you check in for all of these things. It can be frustrating because it's unmanned, but on the other hand, it can also be convenient.
We usually travel to London a couple of times a year and have already visited several accommodations of all kinds.
The location is great; you have the Underground station, the train station, and the bus stops just a few meters away, so the connection is excellent for getting around London.
Despite being a container (which is what caught our attention when we saw its construction on our last trip), it doesn't feel cramped at all; you feel comfortable in the room.
There are enough power outlets if you need them.
A very well-equipped kitchen.
The bathroom is comfortable and has everything you need... shampoo/body wash, conditioner, hand gel, moisturizer.
I have one drawback, but it was very important for us.
1) No information, much less in Spanish, about the fact that there is a side door to enter the building after a certain time when the bar closes.
2) The app is only available in English.
3) The person answering the intercom at the entrance to the building was absolutely unhelpful when we couldn't get in. Thanks to another couple who came out, we were able to get into the hotel.
4) We had to find the toilet paper ourselves outside the room to refill it.
We stayed at this apartment hotel, and honestly, there are no complaints about anything, nothing serious or too bad to warrant a negative review.
It's very central and has access to two metro stations, one train station, and many more bus stations.
If you're coming via Stanted, you can take the National Express bus, which drops you off at Waterloo Station, just a few meters from Stow-Away.
The price isn't bad at all considering it's London and a very central area.
It's cozy and doesn't feel like you're in a dumpster, quite the opposite.
The only thing that could be improved is that customer service is provided by phone, and certain information should be left in writing at check-in.

This apart/hotel offers fantastic value for money offering a very high end experience however has a few minor flaws.
The rooms are very well equipped with anything you could possibly need for your stay and so is the kitchenette. The beds and pillows are very soft and comfy, there is a new tv remote provided for every guest and nice large towels. The hotel is in a fantastic location but the main drawback of the location is that there is a train passing by roughly ~20 minutes which can be heard from the rooms. Personally this was not an issue for me however it might be for some.
I had a bit of an issue with the heating or a/c as the room felt really cold so I decided to try the AC in heating mode and in auto mode max temperature yet the room just stayed at 16° so it was quite chilly. Another minor issue I had was with the App as it kept saying "failed to login" so I just ended up using the apartment key code that was emailed to me.
Overall I would recommend and stay again as long as the issues are resolved.
Super central, transport accessible (lambeth and waterloo + buses), good amenities, complete kitchen, easy check-in and out, efficiently designed. Retractable blackout shade blocks light for good sleep.
Walkable to Whitehall, within budget range.
Whilst it is within earshot of waterloo train station, the sound is quite muted and didn’t cause any disturbance. Near southbank. You can also see London Eye fr balcony. Don’t understand the other complaints posted cause this is a great biz hotel.
Couldn't recommend it enough. Always trying to stay here when I am in the area. Absolutely worth it.
Great room for a great price. Location is perfect.
Not having a cleaning service every day is a bit of a bummer but oh well.
Loved the hot towel rack and all the fancy buttons.
Feels very luxurious.
Always helpful
Really convenient
What am i saying? I don't want other people to find this place. It'll get booked up!
Its terrible 😉
If you are interested in seeing hotel made from shipping containers it’s worth to visit and have look it’s an interesting project love it
A really nice and cozy hotel but without a window. That's the only thing that is definitely missing.
Stowaway is a apart-hotel spend a night or a week enjoy the experience you will not regret it .
