Excellent breakfast selections, from full English, pancakes, pastries, fruit and cereal. Rooms did need some updating, very small and a lovely view of a wall. It did get loud on the Saturday night as there are pubs around the hotel - didn’t bother us but I think if you wanted to go to bed before 12am you might find this an issue. Great location for pubs and shopping

Beautiful hotel, stayed here many times before. Clean, friendly and comfortable
Staff very professional, friendly and accommodating. Rooms immaculate and nicely furnished. Breakfast highly recommended 👌

Ideal positioned hotel for most of London's sights. Most walkable from here.
Executive Double on the 8th floor was quite small, but clean and well kitted out. Nice firm bed. Breakfast...good selection on offer.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Ahmed and Cynthia in particular.
Beds were very comfortable, very clean, and breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
Great location for bus routes and walking distance to Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden.

Now been twice and have another couple of days booked. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stays there and would happily recommend it. Great location, fine rooms and pleasant staff.

Close to theatres, Covent Garden, room was upgraded and very nice. No towels of any description in the bathroom asked at least four times before I finally got some. As my daughter and I were there for three days I was not very happy.

Wonderful stay and fantastic location.
Went here for a romantic night away while going to the theatre and this certainly didn't disappoint. The hotel was beautiful, really lovely decor that worked so well together, and the room size was great too.
Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful with absolutely nothing bad to say at all.
The location is fantastic and the room was very comfortable and well cleaned.
Would 100% recommend and visit again.

Every member of staff we encountered so friendly and looked happy.
Hotel beautiful. Stayed in deluxe king with mum my sister and myself, room was great and plenty big enough for us. Lovely touch with mum receiving a birthday card and chocolates(I'd emailed with this information). Free mini bar which was great. Didn't book breakfast as we weren't sure if we would rather have a walk out. Decided we would have it when we came down that morning. No problem at all. Great selection to choose from and all really nice. The location is spot on for anywhere in London. We went to 'the ivy' for a meal then on to see mamma Mia. Following day the London eye and the Thames river cruise. Really carnt fault the hotel , we had a great stay and would definitely stay again!

A beautiful hotel, within walking distance of many of Londons best attractions. The room was on the smaller size but perfectly good. There is street noise, but closing the shutters gets rid of that straight away. The staff were always helpful. If you, like me prefer cold beers, try Brewdog in Seven Dials.
I will be back next time I'm in London.

Great location and staff were lovely. Booked a superior double which I was glad for as even this size room was very compact. Bed was comfortable though and had a good night's sleep, just not a lot of room. Shower was disappointing. Would stay again though.

Stayed for 8 nights in a two single beds, which was clean and average space to move around the room. Beds and sheets were clean and comfy. Pillows were a little flat, but there were extra pillows to add height ifnwanted. Two chairs and a small table for extra seating. Small bedside tables to place essentials while sleeping. Bathroom as a little small with a standing shower stall. Water pressure in the shower and at the sink was bad; barely a spray. Showers took twice as long than I normally do at home. Other room amenities include television, ironing, water heater pot for tea and coffee, safe, and adjustable AC/heat. Opted for the go-green, which allowed me to control when I needed room service. General hotel service was friendly. The location is great for those into theater and musicals. Most theaters are in walking distance. Same goes for the museum and gallery. There is so much to choose from for restaurants as well. Charing Cross station is about a five minute walk, and Embankment is about seven minutes. Noise was no problem at night when sleeping. I would stay again if coming back for theater and musicals and staying no more than five nights. Five nights is my cut-off without having a decent shower after outings.

So convenient being on the Strand and easy of access to the central London attractions. I had a small single room which was clean and tidy with free wifi. There was no door between the room and bathroom - make of that what you will. Service was good and they did look after my bag until the afternoon. My only comment was that it was not easy to navigate to find your rooms as it is row and rows of room doors - so better signage please!

Perfect walking distant to so many wonderful places to visit. Also love this hotel. Very comfortable rooms
Trust me have been more than once!

Average hotel in a great location! Pro-Staff strives for professionalism and the rooms have all the basics, except refrigerator. The location is central and great for exploring. Negatives-Breakfast has almost zero fresh fruits or veggies. Some rooms are extremely tiny. Focus is quantity over quality. Drinks at bar are more expensive than other places with more atmosphere.

We did not stay here, we had TEA TIME.
We were looking for affordable and yummy Tea Time. Our boys read about it in their books about London and they were obsessed in having it, but the thing is that it is very expensive and we wanted something affordable. We were so glad that we found it in Strand Hotel. It was not just delicious, but the customer service was fabulous “Thank you Adam”, he made the boys feel very special, and made the experience for them marvelous 😊 What we paid there for the four of us equivalent to one person in other places.

Fabulous hotel, excellent location, immaculately clean, beautiful rooms. Breakfast was delicious as was the afternoon tea, and cocktails. Staff were friendly and efficient especially Vishal, for whom nothing was too much trouble! Would recommend and will definitely visit again !

Lovely stay with friendly service from staff. Breakfast was gorgeous and drinks at the bar in the evening was lovely and surprisingly cheap compared to London prices. Bedroom was very comfortable and had black out blinds. The windows must have been triple glazing as no noise could be heard from the street. Doors closing of other rooms is something you may wish to consider. Will stay again.

From checking in to checking out a fabulous stay. Friendly staff, lovely surroundings and the breakfast was amazing. Throughly recommend the strand Palace and so close to everything
J. A.
We made a last minute change of hotel and i am so glad we did. A beautiful hotel the room was lovely, shower hot which is a big thing for me. Everything in the fridge complimentary. A huge window for breakfast and it was cooked lovely. Easy check-out. Friendly staff nothing was toi much trouble. My perfect hotel.
J. B.
It's a solid 3 star hotel in a great location. I appreciate the shower and tap heads have probably been put on to save water but the shower is so restricted it takes forever to have a shower. It takes about 20 mins to be served in the hotel bar. Hard to explain but it the whole checking in part seems a bit clunky and slow. Some wallpaper already peeling in the room of a "recently refurbished" room which isn't great.
Z. C.
Very friendly staff, comfy bed and really dark and quiet at night as they have shutters and not curtains. Breakfast was great too
L. F.
Good hotel conveniently located and nice staff. Room is comfortable but the shower lack of water pressure situation is just ridiculous. Could be just the room I was staying in but it was really annoying. Also, if you are any taller than 1,70m, you may struggle to stand up on the shower cabin
K. W.
Booked under a last-minute ‘secret deal’. Perfect location for a night on the town. Very friendly staff. Easy to store bags before check-in. Room was comfortable and clean. Good shower pressure. Quiet. Great Art Deco character.
R. S.
Myself and my wife stayed here for the night after watching a show, the hotel is very nice and the staff are very polite, friendly and helpful, they allowed us to check in early so we didn't have to take our overnight bags to the theatre. The room itself was clean and tidy, the bed was comfy and the shower was good. We had breakfast included and it was very good, you had a hot breakfast in a buffet style but this was served to you and also the usual continental style as well pastries, cold meats, cereals. Fruit juices and coffee and tea all was at a high standard. Overall we can't fault anything would definitely recommend staying here.
L. K.
Had a great stay here- room was small but had everything you would need a bathroom was modern and very clean. Staff were all lovely and I would definitely stay here again if in the area
L. M.
A HUGE THANK YOU 🙏🏻 Following one of the hardest times for everyone including the hospitality industry I have to say our stay at the strand was perfect. From the time we checked in ( we were earlier than the time set , but the gentleman at the desk, checked and said our room was actually ready so we were welcome to settle in!) to the time we checked out (really reasonable time 12pm which allowed us time to relax and end enjoy our breakfast and get sorted)
The room :
We stayed in a deluxe family room, a king size bed and a large sofa bed which was already set up for use. It had a mini bar (Free) and the usual safe,iron/ironing board and hair dryer. The bathroom was spotless, no grime in the corners of the shower, it really felt brand new!
Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choices from a full English, continental, to cereal and fruit. Tea and coffee were served fresh at the table.
The staff from EVERY department were really professional, friendly and helpful, no ask was too big or too small , they were just happy to help - big shout out to Mohammed who took care of our bags after we checked out! Lovely man!
We had a wonderful time. Unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to enjoy all of the facilities on offer here but if what we experienced in our short stay was anything to go by well I seriously don’t think you will be disappointed!
N. A.
Free upgrade which was appreciated! Had to book extra night due to travel problems on underground! Disappointed that was not offered better deal on room! Great location and will continue to visit!
A. E.
Overall great hotel with friendly staff, a decent bar/restaurant, amazing location, and nice rooms. My room was much smaller than I expected, maybe they could consider putting the size of the rooms in the listing? They had a sustainability initiative where if you forego room cleaning you get a free drink, dessert, or discount for the restaurant which I thought was amazing! The location was 10/10, so would still consider staying there again though I would try and clarify the room size prior.
K. M.
Rooms were a little bit snug, and a little scruffy around the edges once outside the lobby. Also, really not a big fan of hanging your main bath towel right above the toilet, that was a strange one, it's both awkward to get from the shower and the least hygienic place in the bathroom it could be.
The location however is brilliant.
R. L.
Do not be fooled with the name - Strand Hotel London. The gallery does not reflect the actual room you receive. We booked this as part of a package to see Mamma Mia and we got a room that was not even described on any website or gallery. So if you are booking as a package please avoid getting room 214. This is more like a Harry Potter Room. BEING hotel.of this calibre in London, you would have thought it would at least live up to sleeping standards but I was wrong. The mattress was ok but the pillows were uncomfortable. If you want a great night sleep- go for Premier Inn all around UK. There is room for improvement should this hotel wish to pursue - 1 the bathroom showers, there is no control for extra pressure thus waiting more water in the long run. 2 change your bedding standards to Premier Inn - guaranteed a good might sleep. 3 room 241 should be a utility room rather than a guest room. It failed the the HMO room size rules at all levels for room sharing in any property. Should you book this hotel, make sure you get a decent size room as shown in their galleries as you paid for the room. Have a great day. Thank you.
R. W.
Family room 2adults 1 10year old. Room good size. Bathroom fine. Very clean and tidied on the second day.
Breakfast excellent plenty of choice for us all.
Haxell,s restaurant good ( except no fish and chips for 10yrold) however salmon substitute plus waitress added chips!
On the whole a really pleasant experience.must mention all staff.helpful and polite. Thank you.
R. I.
First time staying at this hotel as saw it on Secret escapes. Staff really friendly and hotel clean. We had a Superior King room which wasn't bad but wasn't great. Only 2 bath towels in the room and 1 face towel. The tv is basic stations with no options for streaming Netflix or casting from your phone which in 2021 is not good enough. Windows were covered by wooden shutters on the inside which only slide open so far so even in daylight the room felt a bit dingy. We will stay again as great location, clean but hoping if we upgrade the room will be nicer (and more TV app/casting please!).
M. G.
Really nice staff. We had an early dinner and tried their nibles but was a bit disappointed. We had the beef burger which was good but would be even better with bacon and some kind of sauce as it was a bit dry. The fish and chips was really good though. Would recommend.
J. P.
It was only a one night stay but it's a nice hotel. A couple of minor quibbles, the toilet could have been cleaner and the milk cartons were empty. I'll be back next year for a longer stay which will give me a better impression
C. S.
Stayed at the Strand Palace at the weekend for a friend's birthday, a group of 8 of us, great location for the restaurants and theatre, room was small but adequate. We were on a room only basis, but wanted breakfast so joined the long queue in the lobby and queued for about 20 minutes, only to be turned away at the front of the queue by the host, as we did not have breakfast included, we could wait until all the breakfast included people had been served. It was sooo embarrassing, to have to step out of the queue, I have never in all my 20 years of working in hotels heard of such a thing, we were paying extra for 8 breakfasts, extra revenue? Anyway we had a great breakfast at Pret a manger.
V. M.
Great location and friendly staff. Stayed in a single room for 1 night, yes it’s on the smaller side but the room is well designed and furnished. Good selection of toiletries offered and loved that you could move the tv from the wall. Would have been great if the room had a mini fridge as the weather was HOT and the hotel could do with better signage but would absolutely stay here again.
C. S.
Having stayed here before on a couple of occasions we booked again for a weekend in London to watch a show.
The room we chose was a double superior that had been recently renovated. Whereas it looked fine on entry there were a few issues with the new style room. No dressing area was supplied or even a mirror near a plug socket to dry your hair, also the mirror in the bathroom was so far away in was hard to put make up on...these were both my wife's issues.
Also, sadly the service in the restraunt was so bad that we just left without anyone attending to us after 15 minutes.
We do like this hotel a lot due to its location and quality but this visit has soured that relationship a little.
J. M.
Cold plates for hot breakfast.
Room not equipped for 3, e.g. 1 tumbler 2 wine glasses, 2 bathroom glasses despite reporting deficiencies (3rd set of towels and sofa bed WERE made up on request though)
Great breakfast. Concierge extremely helpful.
B. M.
Rooms, Staff and Service excellent. Need to train new members of staff better so they understand the nuances of this hotel. Restaurant (Haxells), menu really disappointing and quality of food poor. Other than that disappointing fact, location and hotel are brilliant.
J. T.
My partner and I stayed here for mini break. Excellent room, extremely clean with a welcome gift [i emailed saying it was my birthday] of chocolates on the bed which was a nice touch. Staff were welcoming and helpful with Muhammed extremely kind when looking after out luggage so we could wander after chdck out. Would recommend!
M. W.
Rooms are clean and bed was v comfortable. Staff are v helpful and friendly. Bathroom wasn't quite big enough and when going to toilet, hit head on towel rack. Also shower didn't go high enough (partner is 6ft ish). Robes and slippers would be a nice touch too. But v central for theatre land and covent garden.
T. T.
A little tired and trading on its location so if all you want is a central base then this is fine. Check in staff were friendly and efficient but after that it’s all a bit mediocre. Tired and frayed in the public areas but you can accept that as part of its early 1900’s historic charm. However the poor customer service and untrained staff in the bars and restaurants is not acceptable and is the reason for the dropped stars. It certainly didn’t feel like a 4 star hotel. The staff in the restaurant were bordering on rude and didn’t seem to be focussed on the customer experience. It’s interesting that when a review on here mentions a negative it’s completely ignored in the response which doesn’t bode well for any improvements! The fact that they close all their bars at 11pm is also strange. In all my many hotel stays over many many years I have never come across a city hotel that doesn’t have any bars or restaurants open after 11pm. And this is central London for goodness sake with staff everywhere so this is not a COVId thing. Rooms are standard hotel fare and nothing special. Nice to have tea and coffee in the room but bo fridge if that’s your thing - and they are a good size with a safe and an iron. If you want to stay near Covent Garden or Theatre Land, Hub by Premier Inn is a great deal more friendly, efficient and good value, just smaller.
M. J.
Not as comfortable as it was prior. The secluded seating now all open plan which spoils the atmosphere a little. £4 for 200ml Pepsi and £11 for a glass of 175ml merlot is pricey but quick pit stop in the hotel is a one off.
j. K.
Fantastic hotel , room beautiful, food excellent, bar and reception staff were very
friendly and very professional. Would stay at this hotel again
C. C.
Staff were extremely professional and friendly. Only downside was a superior deluxe room was the size of a room at the premiere inn. Breakfast was lovely, and had a lovely feel walking in to the lobby
R. P.
Check in is soooo ridiculously slow. Ended up being late for my appointment and even then had to come back and check in later and wait a further 20 mins… It’s also one of the most challenging hotels to actually find your room with not enough signage.
The staff are friendly, the location is amazing and I got the room for a pretty decent price.
N. P.
Great hotel! We took our kids for a weekend in London and it was the perfect place to stay. Great location, great size room for 4 of us, staff were really helpful and breakfast buffet was great. We will be back.
J. S.
Had I realised I was booking a Cosy room I would not have booked it. I made a request for a bath but as I discovered on arrival and finding I had booked a cosy room it was obviously not possible. If someone from the hotel had contacted me about the bath I would have changed to a standard room. My husband found the bed being against the wall a bit claustrophobic as I needed the bedside table near me. However, the room was spotless and nicely, obviously newly, decorated. The bed was actually very comfortable, and the staff were very polite and friendly. Ideally located for Theatreland and other sights and I would definitely stay here again but be very careful when booking a room.
D. A.
All I can say, Tracy & Leslie were stand outs during our stay! We were stuck for 3 additional days we didn’t plan for, however I remember speaking to these 2 and they each had their moments of great customer service. Very happy we were here & will be back when visiting London!!
N. D.
Excellent location close to Covent Garrden and friendly, welcoming and helpful staff (especially Florrie at breakfast!). The king size deluxe room was lovely but please, please can you put a dressing table and mirror in for the ladies. It seems to be a growing trend for hotels to overlook this essential item of furniture and leave ladies struggling to manage on a small round table. We look forward to seeing this addition when we visit again.
I. B.
Used this place many times as its a good central location not over price for this area. It is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful although I find that the restaurant menu is quite limited it is reasonable
R. T.
Loved our stay here the staff where amazing and food was lovely! Hotel room was spacious and clean and the mini bar was stocked nicely definitely value for money! Thank you! 😊
C. R.
Hotel is well located and I side it is in good condition. The double room wasn't huge, but I would say slightly bigger than average for London and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was OK, although waiting 25 minutes for a coffee was a little excessive. In all though, it was good value for the .oney
K. B.
Refurbished rooms are very good. Bit small for a so called " Superior" Double! Long queue for breakfast place at busy times of morning, hence 4 stars....join thier club for rapid checkout and a free drink!
R. F.
Located in the heart of London and close to everything.
A cozy room that was cleaned every day. Courteous and nice staff, who provide an answer to everything.
A small and intimate dining room with a rich kitchen.
I loved the hotel and will definitely return.
D. j.
Went for afternoon tea and it was lovely, great service and value for money.... Highly recommend
H. F.
Great location, good breakfast, nice clean room, but diastrously low water pressure made showering very difficult.
M. A.
From the welcoming staff to the quiet restful bedrooms, I couldn't fault the Strand Palace.
Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Location is great too. A minute's walk to Covent Garden.
C. J.
Perfect hotel in the middle of London extremely friendly staff great space really worth a stay.
R. R.
It is close to shops and threatres the hotel is done to a good standard staff friendly and helpful plenty of choice with breakfast, only down side was we stayed in the newly refurbished cosy double had to crawl in and out of so as not to disturb my partner as bed was up against the wall, if we wanted a drink at the bar service was slow, but on the whole we would come back again.
M. M.
Absolutely loved the Santa grotto and was ever so grateful for Maddy who was helpful with my daughter! Please can you pass my praise and thank you to her!
P. D.
Fab hotel, great location, lovely clean rooms with comfy beds. Coctails a little pricey, but very nice.
Great staff.
N. H.
Very clean, well kept hotel. Room was quite despite being opposite the lifts. Good location for visiting places in central London
S. S.
My husband and I stayed here for 5 days and loved our stay. Hotel is very modern, clean and rooms are great too. Staff in the hotel very friendly and helpful. Catalina is most helpful, friendly and a great asset to the hotel. Will highly recommend to our friends and family. Thank you for a good stay.
M. W.
Clean. Room had everything needed, kettle, tea and coffee, recently refitted ensuite. Really nice breakfast, with good selection to choose from
S. K.
Best hotel in the right place to stay. Check-in and Check out swift. The rooms were renovated and looks great.
E. L.
A little break with my elderly mum who is in a wheel chair, we were very Impressed with the full hotel. The rooms were beautiful and the bathroom was to die for, we were three floors up near to lift so was ideal for mum. Breakfast is lovely and staff all very helpful. Ideal location 👌
C. F.
Booked a weekend to celebrate my partner’s birthday - we were not disappointed! Helpful and friendly staff, the room was cosy, but had a comfy mattress and pillows, and it was spotless! The contemporary feel of art deco environment really adds value to the whole experience! Super recommend the rich and tasty afternoon tea!
B. C.
Good location, small rooms but in central London and good service
R. M.
What can I say, the service is first class. Great hotel staff that work well together to deliver top service to guests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the rooms were very clean. The beds are comfortable and the TV in our room swivels for a better view. The pillows are soft, maybe a medium and hard pillow should be readily available in the rooms but not something for me to complain about. Overall, 5 star! Great location... 5 minutes walk to the Embankment Pier, underground and around the corner from the theatres. Tesco Express across the road and Sainsbury's Local close by. I'm certain you'll enjoy your stay.
B. B.
Beautiful. Staff are so friendly and helpful. We received a free upgrade. The room was spacious and clean. It had a great shower. The snacks and drinks inside our room where complementary. Breakfast was incredible they do both cooked and continental. Would recommend the pancakes.
m.
Great ,except the coffee machine had broken down in their Haxells restaurant, unacceptable for a hotel like this ? .Otherwise a very good experience overall ,including visiting Santa
B. B.
Nice hotel in super location. Rooms small but expect that in London for the price. Good overall experience
J. A.
A nice hotel located in central London with easy access to Theatres, Bars and Restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful.
N. B.
Great location, nice rooms. Mohammad the concierge was extremely helpful and kind, i will definitely be coming back
o.
Very close to a theatre we visited. Excellent breakfast with variety of good quality food. Clean room. Will visit again
C. S.
Nice stay, comfortable room, rudely woken by maid knocking on the door at 7.55 this morning, no apology! Nice breakfast
I. B.
The strand palace was amazing so central to everything. Covent garden is a 5 minute walk from the hotel and theatres.
j. g.
I went down for England Denmark game. The price was around £100 which was excellent considering the location of the hotel.
The people on reception and the cleaning ladies were very friendly
My plans changed so I checked out one night early but at around 3pm (long after check out) so just thought my second night would still be charged for. The hotel very kindly refunded my credit card the next day even though I didn't ask them 👍
Y. B.
Great position hotel , especially if your visiting Savoy Theatre as it's only across the road.
M. B.
Suppose to have a superior room cost £170 for one night was no better than a cheap Britannia £50 Night room 290 kept awake most night with noise of fans out side window would not stay again 👎.athough breakfast was good 👍
B. R.
Excellent location, my stay at this hotel was absolutely faultless, room, staff & breakfast perfect.
A. M.
Beautiful building ,friendly helpful staff ,food lovely, room very clean, very enjoyable stay x
M. R.
Comfortable rooms with high level of cleanliness. The remodelled bar area was a great place to relax after a day's sightseeing. Although the loss of the friendly doorman and concierge post lockdown was a shame. The hotels location can't be beat, close to Covent Garden, Theatres and Westminster, a great base for a London Break.
P. G.
Didn't stay but the person I picked up said it's nice but quite noisy as her room over looked the strand alot of traffic
K.
Booked the deluxe double for 3 nights for work.
Hotel foyer was very nicely presented and I'd say 5 star standard.
The staff at the reception were really nice and friendly. I had to ask them for some extra toiletries and toothbrush a few times and they were always happy to help.
Room was decent, I could definitely still nitpick a bit as I'm such a clean freak but it was pretty decent overall. Room came with the mini fridge stocked (2 cokes, 2 diet cokes, 2 camden beers and 2 sparkling waters) which was complimentary. We never got the rooms cleaned as we didnt need to so not sure if the mini fridge would get restocked. I asked reception and they said it would get restocked when our roomd were cleaned but when I asked the cleaning lady for more toiletries, there weren't any mini fridge items in her trolly so not sure. Bottles of still water were provided when I asked the cleaning lady, not sure why they didnt have any in the room for when I arrived though.
The shampoo/showergel/body lotion was actually pretty good. normally I find hotel toiletries quite drying (even if theyre supposed to be a luxury brand one) but the ones that were provided were pretty decent and I didnt even have to use the body lotion I brought myself.
also, there was an ice machine next to the stairs on the 1st floor that was free to use. It was next to a few vending machines filled with drinks, snacks and toiletries.
A. H.
Grand hotel. Good breakfast selection. Great housekeeping staff.
J. O.
Good hotel but water pressure is bad so if you like to shower - 🚿- you may be disappointed
L. R.
Went to the Strand Palace Hotel. The concierge was very selective. Witnessed him indicating a family to go down stairs when they wanted to book in
H. K.
Great experience seeing Ricky Gervais. If you are tall I recommend looking into your seats more, it can be a bit cramped if you are tall.
J. M.
BUSY BUSY BUSY. Hold on to your bags but enjoy the stores. I went when the Christmas lights were up..stunning
J. F.
The Strand Palace Hotel is easily the most convenient hotel in all of London, and one with the best price-quality ratios.
This hotel's greatest asset is its central location, which is ideal if you want to be within walking distance from all of London's most famous attractions (Trafalgar Square, Museums, Shopping, West End...). However, it is also close to many tube and railway stations, so reaching the rest of London (and to a lesser extent the UK) is seamlessly easy.
As for the hotel in itself, it has small but comfy rooms, really good restaurants, friendly and efficient staff, and is beautiful to look at. Sure, it is pricier than other hotels in the city, but if you value convenience and comfort, this is the best option available.
All in all, this is a highly recommendable hotel.
G. O. G.
Great hotel with great service. Location is perfect as you're in the centre of London and near every major tourist attractions. In particular Ivelina from reception. She deserves a big fat bonus/raise. We had some trouble getting a Corona test for travel and she helped us with everything.
Regards Gijs and Lotte

Beautifully presented hotel and room, very clean and welcoming. Great facilities, and knowledgeable staff. The food was lovely, and the gin palace was exceptional. I will definitely be staying again in the future and recommending to my friends.
J. N.
Excellent service. But if you are sensitive to noise, make sure to ask an internal room as there is lots from the main road. The staff was so kind to upgrade us to another internal room where we slept in peace.
S. Q.
All good, would stay again. Oddly no obvious info on breakfast on the website, it was very good though!
P. G.
Staff are brilliant. Rooms are really comfy and. Clean.
Would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.
Special mention for Holly, Michael, Jill, Peter and Ismail who really made our stay something to remember
P. H.
We are bowled over by this hotel..room service superb..the room gorgeous and breakfast faultless. Made my wife's birthday a lovely experience
C. V.
Very well located for a decent price. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and serviceable. Can get a little noisy sometimes.
J. O.
Great central location. I had a single room - pretty small with no view but it was clean & functional.
The price was good with offer of three nights for the price of two.
Impersonal & soulless but ok as a base .
B. 1.
Nice place, have visited several times over the last 15 years, bit disappointed that the bar is currently closing early (10pm) otherwise, good hotel for central London 👍
A. A.
I don't usually leave reviews but me & partner had a lovely time at the hotel last weekend.
Staff were very friendly & rooms were very clean. I couldn't fault anything during our stay at the hotel.
C. H.
Considering it was a big football weekend in central london. We had a great few nights. Room was immaculate, and a clean and spacious hotel. Lots of nice little bars and restaurants witin a square mile. Will be back.
V. R.
Very comfortable hotel, friendly, helpful staff. Perfect location
Mohammad very helpful.
P. B.
Comfortable hotel with good staff. Very well situated for theatre visits. Enjoyed the breakfast.
J. W.
Good clean hotel with comfy beds and most of all very central. Handy for Covent garden and minutes away from Waterloo Bridge.

I love the decor, it is very clean here but our room was quite small, you had to squeeze into the bathroom to shut the door! We had no flannels either but I brought one x
L. B.
We just want to say a big THANK YOU to Strand Palace!!!! The staff was excellent, warm and welcoming. Our room was clean and we had everything that we needed. The breakfast excellent and cocktails in the evening was perfection. My husband and I will definitely come back here again. You guys keep up the great service!!
B. B.
Great place to stay near Covent Garden, Theatre land & the Strand. Also a great little independent coffee shop front of house.
M. M.
A big THANK YOU to Sharon for a super friendly and super smooth check in.
The location is fantastic, the service very great, the rooms unfortunately very tiny and dated. Stan
s. k.
Checking in was so slow we had to leave our case and come back later ..which we did still a queue then our room wasn't ready so had to sit and wait we were offered a free drink but by 5 we just wanted to go to room to relax before going out again at 6ish ...scrambled eggs were awful noone came over to offer hot drinks apart from that staff friendly expecially Mohammed the man who took the case bed was comfy and a good shower
N. S.
Great hotel, perfect location, the staff are lovely, so is the breakfast, we will be back soon.
R. C.
First time in this newly refurbished restaurant. Family reunion lunch. Very attentive and obliging staff and enjoyable food.
M. B.
Great hotel, central location. Very clean and staff are accomodating especially mohammed who looks after luggages.

Stayed here September 2020 for a well deserved break after working all thru lock down. Lovely hotel on the Strand, looks on to the Savoy Hotel. The hotel is a short walk from Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, & Soho. Easy check in, was very quiet (due to Covid). Hotel was spotless, communal areas and the rooms. Room was spacious, comfortable, beds were great, also the bedding was of good quality. Rooms have been recently renovated. Air con in the room was great. Shower and toilet were very modern and again spotless. My only gripe at all with this hotel, is the area. I've stayed in Many different areas in Central London around Covent Garden & Soho, but walking home at night some of the streets leading to the Strand can be quite lonely, and a couple of times my self and my sister were approached by drunk homeless men who followed us, shouting after us. I give to the homeless, so this is not a bias against homeless people, but as 2 young females from Scotland, we were freaked out! We usually stay off Tottenham Court Road, which is much busier at night time and does feel a little safer. Over all this hotel was great tho, just stick to the main roads rather than winding down the side streets. Returning soon 😁
S. T.
Great place to stay if planning to visit Covent garden. Central. Great friendly staff. Lots of places nearby to dine at. Would stay again!
i. s.
Reception staff was excellent
The double room was very clean and nice bathroom
Location fantastic, central to everything.
The only downside was both days breakfast was serve with 25min waiting time but what made it worse was that other customers that arrive after us were served food before us, I felt it was unprofessional. A part from this excellent place to be
E. K.
Overall stay was okay. Our room was small and the shower was almost cold in the evenings with no way to turn the temperature up and the staff were slightly unhelpful when mentioned. However, the location was perfect, within a 2 minute walk to Covent Garden - plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.
B. W.
Great hotel good price good location and Muhammad was very helpful with us when we checked out took in our luggage and kept it safe for us while we went shopping
T. M.
If you just need a simple and relatively inexpensive place to sleep, this is a perfectly suitable option. The double superior room was smaller than I expected from the photo. There is a lot of traffic noise, though the windows have thick shutters that block most of the noise when closed. Ceiling height in the showers is low, wouldn't recommend for anyone much taller than 6ft. Bed was comfy, and the rooms were modern with many power outlets. Great for single travellers, but maybe get a larger room if travelling as a couple. Covid-19 measures were in place, and cleaning staff were great and always wearing PPE. Some other staff at reception or security were not wearing masks, but were generally not too close to guests, so it seemed ok.
B. O.
Can’t recommend this hotel enough. From check in to check out the staff were amazing. Attention too detail was great. The room we stayed in were new and so nice. The dinner in the hotel was also amazing and the attention to detail was great. Great location as well and walking distance to loads of the London landmarks. Definitely going to come back and stay with them again
K. F.
Excellent, staff great.. recommend staying at this hotel.
L. J.
We didn't actually stay at the hotel. We book afternoon tea. We arrived soaked to the skin having done a speed boat trip up the Thames in pouring rain. ALL the staff were welcoming and friendly. Our waitress, Florinella, was charming and exceptionally helpful, nothing was too much trouble. There was so much food we couldn't finish it all. Sandwiches, cakes, scones, coffee, teas and hot chocolate; all delicious. Thank you from everyone at Anstee Bridge for making our Jack Petchey award of afternoon tea so memorable.
A. S.
What a fantastic place! This was a special treat and it didn’t disappoint. The room was great. Bed comfortable and a lovely breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly. Will stay here again!
A. H.
Lovely hotel very clean, breakfast delicious staff very pleasant throughly enjoyed
S. H.
Food choices could be better rooms fantastic 😉
E. W.
Nice hotel and absolutely lovely staff. They haven't worked out lockdown breakfast properly so lose a star but otherwise great.
R. M.
What a lovely stay my boyfriend and I had! So much so we extended our night. Such lovely smiley staff at the check in desk, very helpful and friendly.
Such a reasonable price, the decor was lovely, it was clean and fresh. The breakfast was delicious & the restaurant decor was stunning. Also right next to Covent Garden and charring cross. Would recommend going to Gordon’s Bar (which is about a 10 min walk) for a romantic wine and cheese night!
S. G.
Fantastic stay with my three children. Perfect location for exploring London with ease on foot, lovely (new) nicely appointed bedrooms (interconnecting which is so valuable as a parent!). The team at the hotel looked after us so well and went above and beyond to make the children feel special. Lovely service in the restaurant and beautifully cooked steaks. Happy relaxed children means happy relaxed Mum. Highly recommend!
M. A. I.
Provides many good quality services
W. G.
Really nice if you’re going for drinks in their bar, relaxed atmosphere and not as expensive as you’d think
D. B.
Stop the night here very lovely place indeed food was lovely
K. H.
strand Palace in Hart of Covent Garden right opposite savoy Hotel great for shaping some photos you'll 📸 and fantastic time in London

A big THANK YOU to Sharon for a super friendly and super smooth check in.
The location is fantastic, the service very great, the rooms unfortunately very tiny and dated. Stan

Great comfortable rooms. Good breakfast.
P. G.
Staff are brilliant. Rooms are really comfy and. Clean.
Would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.
Special mention for Holly, Michael, Jill, Peter and Ismail who really made our stay something to remember
A. A.
I don't usually leave reviews but me & partner had a lovely time at the hotel last weekend.
Staff were very friendly & rooms were very clean. I couldn't fault anything during our stay at the hotel.
D. M.
Hotel is lovely, room very clean and well furnished. Great location
A. R.
Lovely ambiance.Ideal place for a relaxing pre theatre drink in the cocktail bar
N. B.
Nice rooms and heard little road noise.
Limited menu during Covid. Burger and chips was fantastic
A. G.
Great location, small rooms but comfortable. I stayed in a single room which was good for me. Decent bathroom but no gate. Breakfast spread was quite good. Almost all Central London attractions are in walking distance. Would definitely recommend.
C. M.
This is a very reasonably priced hotel right in the middle of everything. Location can't be beat, really. The rooms were a bit small and not terribly nice. We happened to be there during a very hot period and our room didn't have any air conditioning. To make matters worse, there was a big scaffolding outside, so we couldn't open our window. Overall, though, it's a fine place, and the location is awesome.
J. T.
Great comfortable rooms. Good breakfast.
S. E.
I've stayed here several times. There is a reason for docking 2 stars.
Firstly the room itself was brilliant, couldn't be faulted, new, clean, bright, fabulously comfortable bed, great shower. All wonderful positives.
The first issue was trying to find my room. I upgraded to a double and was given a quiet room ....... right in the centre of the hotel. Yes, there are maps on corridors showing where rooms are located but every corridor looks the same. The numbering sequence seems odd and I walked a long way looking for my room . Please sort this out. Its hellishly confusing.
The second issue was the wind howling what sound like the pipe network. Kept me awake for ages. A problem with a central quiet room I suspect.
Having said that I will stay again but ensure I have a room on the outside I can easily find. The location is perfect for my visits to London
T. S.
Nice clean place and friendly staff would definitely stay again.

Wow. It’s so wonderful that this is the first place I stayed when I came into London. I feel nostalgic writing this revenue. From the first time I stepped into The Stand I was treaters like a king. It is indeed a palace. I so much love the exotic meals and most especial the breakfast buffet. It’s always a pleasant time going downstairs to enjoy the meal. 😁
F. P.
Lovely hotel, great customer service by Ahmed on reception.
j. s.
Clean. Comfortable. Lovely staff. Great location.
R. I.
Rooms very small and overall price too high for the standard.
N. M.
As expected for the price, clean place, very decent rooms with adequate service. European sockets are a plus. Proper breakfast buffet and spacious hall. Kind and helping stuff.
However they should relax a bit with the £100 deposit (which - I believe - is better to give them in cash; the card option might take up to 5 working days for the deposit to be returned).
The computers' stand can be improved. The gym is kind on the "dungeon" side, also no pool.
D.
Such a lovely place to stay. Brilliant staff and a great location.
V. P.
Hotel is as good as expected, we have stayed a number of times previously but we had an issue this time.
Booked upgraded rooms and one of them was no bigger than a single. We asked to be changed and only offered a basic double and not the upgraded as we had paid for.
Staff are excellent.
l. s.
Guests appreciated the friendly, professional staff
J. W.
This was out first every international trip and our anniversary. The hotel and its staff was amazing. Ema helped us check in and advised us that our room didn't have AC but was able to get us into a room with AC in 2 days. She even provided us with a wonderful bottle of wine for our anniversary. The manager also provided us with champagne and macaroons to celebrate! Both rooms were wonderful. The upgraded rooms are comfortable and stylish. The layout of our particular room, with the TV, was a little weird but insignificant compared to how much we enjoyed our time there. The standard king room was nice, and we were provided with a little fan which helped with no AC. Loved being able to open to windows and hear the sounds of the street. Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The room service was amazing. The location was perfect! Within walking distance to basically everything, right in front of the Covent Gardens. We will always come back to this hotel!
S. H.
I went here 5 years ago and then it was awesome.
Last week I stayed 4 days over here and it was disappointed.
Every time the people came to clean our room we found a lot of hairs in our shower, the shower is to small for normal people. My bf is 1m75 and had to bend down to take a shower because it was just to small. The bad was like heaven and the cookies we got were also very good! When we turned the shower on it made a lot of irritating noise. You could feel the cold coming trough the window even when it was closed.. The ventilation in the bathroom was also really loud, so if you were sleeping you could here this and it would be super annoying.
There was in the room also a lot of dust. And if someone closed the door of there room you would wake up because it was super loud.
The staff was friendly and really a bonus! The cocktails were delicious! You have a lot of choice of breakfast, but it was sad you always had such a little glass to drink your water from.. I saw same people fill there glass, drink it till it was empty (standing still where the drinks were) and than fill it up again. The eggs were also a bit to runny + Not a alternative for yoghurt for people who are lactose intolerante (like me).
But overall it was an okay stay.
T. P.
Seems very very good so far -
Also didn’t mention my birthday - which is the following week - but they obviously noticed on the booking and left a card and some green and blacks chocolate which was a very lovely touch - nice one x
H. Ó.
Liked this hotel, the location was just excellent. However our first room was rather small so we upgraded after the first night to a bigger room and where very happy.
The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean.
There was often line for a table at the breakfast but it was organized very well and the staff did an excellent job managing the tables.
Would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
M. H.
Great location and busy lobby. Not overly impressed with the room. Every other 4 star hotel I've stayed in has had air conditioning except this hotel, thank god for the fan. Weird layout with the bed against the wall. Had to climb over each other to get out of bed.
C. B.
Stayed here with my parents for 2 nights. I had a great experience. The lobby is big and modern. The bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean. The staff was very friendly as well.
I would definitely go back for my next trip to London.
K. L.
Fast check in and very professional reception. Great location if arriving by taxi or bus. Room was a corner and quite small. Despite size the room decor was modern and fresh.
N. M.
Not the most reasonable rates around, but very comfortable. Rooms are small and the use of dry walls is a bit excessive much to my annoyance. Breakfast was always the same, also found them to be inflexible, we were not allowed to reconfigure the rooming arrangement though the place was full and it seemed it would have been easy to sell the rooms and give us what we wanted.
L. H.
I've stayed at The Strand Palace Hotel on average twice a year for over twenty years. Position wise in London... it's perfect. Courteous, friendly staff, rooms are small (but this is London after all) but clean and very comfortable. I'm there in winter so the room is like a cosy warm nest in my favourite city in the world.
J. E.
The Superior and Deluxe rooms are well appointed and a nice update from the Standard rooms. Definitely worth the upgrade. The location provides a short walk to a lot of dining options and monuments. There are no big bus or other bus tour stops near, so that can be a plus or a minus.
D. C.
Wonderful hotel on the strand, very close for Westend shows
D. W.
Enjoyable stay, although evening meal for 6 people was very expensive. £140.00 for fish and chips x 4, aburger x 1 and a risotto x 1.
D. A.
Friendly and helpful staff. Room was spotless and worth its price tag. Great location too, only 4 minutes walk into Covent Garden main square. Will be returning 😊
l. l.
Staff are LOVELY.
It was my Birthday when I stayed there and they have me a box of chocolates as as present! They were also really kind to my parents and gave them a free bottle of Wine.
I would definitely recommend this Hotel.Lovely rooms! Good for Kids!
J. 2.
Very good location. In all fairness I rarely give 5 stars. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Recently renovated room. Rooms are small but well appointed. Check the shower if you are over 6 feet tall. We had to move to a room with a taller shower.
S. W.
Very nice. Staff very helpful
W. S.
We chose the hotel because of the location which was great. The room was good, comfortable and clean. The breakfast ar the restaurant was a great way to stay the day. We finished a couple of days in the gin palace bar and the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere comfortable and quiet. We tried the afternoon tea one day in the restaurant and loved it
I would stay here again.
M. W.
Not been in here since before the refurb so was nice to see it was brighter and that old 50's feel on the door numbers was a nice touch.
The bar was nice, very dimly lit but the staff were superb and very on point.
The room was a tad small but bed was comfy and the shower/toilet was pretty decent. Nice aircon controls.
There is a mirror above the headboard of the bed to give the room the sense of being bigger than it is, but you quickly feel the size when you sit on the bed, but someone they seem to fit everything in which works!
Overall for the location and price it's not bad at all.
J. E.
Wonderful hotel. Greeted by a really friendly and helpful doorman who helped with all the luggage, nothing too much trouble for him. Reception staff helpful. Hotel was immaculate, rooms small but clean. Beds were really comfy, great night's sleep. Good breakfast, great choice of foods.
All the Christmas decorations were getting put up while we were there and it looked fabulous. Wish we could have stayed an extra night!! Can't wait to come back.
L. B.
Location is great for tourists and businessmen alike. Beds are comfy. Staff is attentive and nice. The interior feels a little dated. My room was small yet big enough. The bathroom was a decent size. Recommend making a stop at the Gin Palace on the ground floor.
M. B.
The Hotel is in a strategical position. The room are clean and comfortable . All staff was wonderfull. I don't give five star only for the dimension of the room . But if I turn in London I will book there.
S. C.
The most beautiful place from London. The condition and the people from here are very nice. Thanks for most beautiful experience of my life.
S. K.
I really enjoyed my weekend here back in July 2018. My room was perfect for one person and kinda cute with a comfy bed and beautiful bathroom.
The location of this hotel is central and very easy to get around from this area.
The morning breakfast buffet is big and with a lot of delicious choices.
If I go to London again I would definitely stay here.
Thanks for taking care of my luggage after check out!
K. W.
Great location, good price.
M. C. N.
Good quality for reasonable price. Kettle for tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast better than is usual in London. Good matresses. I am not happy with pillows and amount of shower gel (one very small bottle for room). Staff pretty low quality as you may expect for the price you pay.
V. C.
My sister and I had the pleasure of staying at The Strand Palace for 4 nights this past February.
Very comfortable, clean and well maintained and great location!
The whole staff was very attentive to our every need and the friendliest group of people all working together that you would ever want to meet.
Must mention the two doormen Ahmed and Abdul who directed us on our quest every morning and greeted us in the evening on our return.
There was another gentlemen in guest services who instead of directing me to the ice machine, went and got it for us himself.
Super hotel and staff.
Thank you for making us feel ''special"!
See you again,
Janet Dillon

A beautiful hotel and the staff are friendly and very helpful. We were celebrating our 26th Wedding Anniversary and they brought up to our room an anniversary card, beautiful chocolates and an ice bucket with a bottle of good Prosecco. This made our stay even more person nap and pleasant. The room was lovely and the bed was wonderful and comfortable. We will definitely be staying again and recommend it to everyone :)
V. P.
Quite cozy hotel. Location is just fabulous. Everything was too near to get: the main attractions. And a lot of public transport available, so it is easy to get in any corner of London less than in half an hour.
I had a standard room for one. Not a big. But no need for big room for sleep. All the other time was spent walking, looking, enjoying. On the other hand bathroom is very big. Bed was comfortable and rest-bringing.
So, breakfast. It was not very different in different days, but variation of dished was quite enough to choose. in general: classic English breakfast, cooked with love :) Tasty.
To conclude - good hotel, perfect location, friendly staff. Nothing more to wish to spend a pleasant weekend in London.
M. J.
This is a nice hotel. It is clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Really oms are small, but that is expected in a large city like London. Consider the upgrade that will provide you with a free mini bar. It has red wine, white wine, two session IPA beers, milk, orange soda, coke, still and sparkling water. It also has snacks, including crisps (potato chips), chocolate and nuts. Our room was newly painted and smelled like paint. We also were situated facing the husy street. Ask to for a quite room facing away from Strand Street. Beds were not the most comfortable and there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom.
B. S.
The hotel was quite nice. I felt the rooms were a decent value for the area.
My only (notable) gripe is that at 8am every morning some sort of maintenance or construction was happening directly underneath our rooms. It was extremely loud drilling and banging. We hoped to sleep in a couple mornings but didn't have that option due to the loud noise and no one warned us about it.
A. Y.
Great location. rooms are not what you'd expect for the price. terrible internet and lowly food service. Due to the area its in, Friday nights mean the bar is full of 'lads' doing blow in the toilets and and some questionable ladies. Good breakfast though.
B. C.
Plenty good enough. Nice food. I don't know how the price compares for this kind of location. Only minus point, quite noisy at times during the night. Some of this was plumbing from other rooms. Maybe inevitable for this kind of building in this location, but be aware if you're a light sleeper.
R. v. d. L.
The hotel's location is really perfect, just a short walk from Covent Garden market, Trafalgar square, Buckingham Palace. Breakfast is not bad, just the same every day, few veg options, coffee's allright. Friendly lot, the staff. Rooms are squeaky clean, just very very very small. I mean like tiny. Still, the location is awesome. Reasonable value for money.
A. W.
Lovely and grand as you walk in, had a double room paid extra for air conditioning, which you often don't need in the uk but it was 32° when we arrived. Breakfast was really good and rooms were good too, little cramped but what I expect from a large city. Thank you for a great stay.
D. H.
Such a lovely hotel.
The staff were polite and attentive, and were very helpful when I mentioned the problem with the sink in my room.
The room was very clean, comfortable and cosy with lovely themed decor.
I have booked another stay there for my next trip to London for School of Rock.
My favourite hotel in London so far. Good location, and close to do many attractions.
I. E. (.
Extremely helpful and friendly housekeeping staff. Room fit for purpose but lacking attention to detail with cleaning. Lamps not working properly and bearly could hear anything on the phone when calling the concierge. Only one set of towels for a twin room. Very expensive bar. Not sure if I would want to stay again, one night maybe, more than one night, no way.
M. B.
Great service, make our stay amazing, very helpful, fantastic room and very comfortable, very clean, worth the money you pay, and a very good breakfast, will go back again.
G. E.
Good position, good cleaning service, check in and check out are fast. But the restaurant doesn't have a delicious food (but a barman do some goods cocktails, the list is very short). The price is a little high for the room (that is not so comfortable how you suppose), it doesn't have mini bar and other things that it would be appreciated by guests. Another negative point for my vote was the concierge, I was with 2 luggage and He never give me a hand to take it down stairs (was very early at morning and I was the only person at entrance)
R. C.
Loved the decor and atmosphere, I upgraded my room to superior and it was still smaller than I thought it was gonna be! Makes me wonder how the other room was for size 🤔 bedding fresh and pillows plump , bathroom small too and mirror was not placed over enough to get close too as the huge sink was in the way. I booked early so it was fairly priced and it was close to the Theatre I was going to. Breakfast overpriced for what it was as Prem Inn do exactly the same for a third less, it was nice enough to stay in and I would use it again .
N. P.
Very nice older hotel. Rooms are cozy. Location is great. I stayed here for two night on business, the hotel was very easy to find, and the staff were very helpful. I could not fault anything about the hotel; my room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.
l. d.
Excellent hotel, fabulous staff who are always ready to go the extra mile for you.
Great location as well - a really pleasant stay. Can't ask for much more!
M. C.
Ideally situated right in the centre of London, was great for a short stay, but check out the price first as these vary.
E. K.
Clean and descent rooms, however small and way too hot without air-conditioning. Location is great! Breakfast is okay, cappuccino is super expansive £5. Helpful staff, not very friendly though. All considered, average value for money.
K. J.
Great hotel staff, very kind and attention full. Facilities were good and downstairs had a warm feel. Rooms seemed a little plain but clean and functional. Work going on 1 ft outside window.. quite thin walls could hear next doors conversations, had expected slightly better for price.
K.
stayed for one night in a refurbished double room. room was nice, clean and had everything you need. slightly on the small side but I was solo so ok. shower was a bit odd, when stood in it I was quite close to the ceiling and I'm not tall! public areas nice, service in restaurant was slow on the evening and I dodnt make breakfast due to the massive queue. staff friendly and great location
C. W.
Great location with a nice stylish lobby. However, the rooms are very small. It gets pretty hot in there without air conditioning too. Still, the rooms seemed very clean. I think my biggest issue is that the staff was fairly unhelpful. I drove around looking for parking nearby, and when i was unable to find any, I called the front desk. No one seemed to know anything about parking nearby, nor could they be bothered to find anything out. This wound up being quite a pain
M. B.
Fabulous location, Reception area bar all common areas of a very high standard.polite friendly staff from concierge, Reception, housekeeping room service. Superior single, perfect , shutters instead of curtains a definite plus.complete blackout, all the attractions you would want within walking distance of hotel. Thankyou Strand Palace, until next time Deb Burch
T. S.
Breakfast and bar area is swish and very expensive. £4 for a tiny regular coffee which wasn't that great. But stars are for the ambience and lovely staff who are helpful and at times overworked.
The room although clean was tiny and wasn't worth the money we paid for to stay the night but the bed was huge and very comfortable.
I wouldn't come back here if I was the one paying to stay, sorry.
M. D.
What a great find! Right in the heart of London on the famous Strand. This is a modern up to date hotel with good sized, clean, contemporary rooms. For the price, this hotel provides all the amenities of restaurant, bar, fitness area, 24 hour room service, concierge service, and free Wifi with great coverage throughout the hotel. Try it, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
P. S.
Very great hotel! Employees are friendly and the enviroment is nice and clean. The beds are of great comfort. The doors are a bit tough to open, but gives a safe feeling.
Its in the middle of the city, everything is closeby.
Really looking forward to come back any time soon.
A. E.
For the money, its ok. Rooms are on the small side and a little dated although i believe some are being refurbished, but for the price I can't complain. Breakfast is buffet style with a good choice. Be careful of prices in the gin palace bar, they're typical of the area and you will pay over £30 for 2 large g&t's. Still, its half the price of the place opposite! Great location and would stay there again.
A. M.
I booked a studio for 20 nights, so friendly staff with super clean and everywhere is sanitized. I enjoined so much and for sure I will book here once visiting London anytime. Amazing location which is closer to everything
P. M.
Room size was okay for me and I am glad it had a proper wardrobe! The room is clean, bathroom clean (with a funny vibrating noise when you turn on the shower) and the location excellent - close to Trafalgar Square, theatres, shopping, bars and restaurants. The bus stop is right opposite the hotel, which is convenient if you have luggage you don't want to lift on the tube stations with stairs only. The food was great too and they let me check in earlier without having to pay extra. They served exactly the same breakfast for the 7 days I was there!
D. G.
A really nice hotel with a good location.
Breakfast was really, really good. Rooms are nice and the bed was really great. My only complaint would be the noise from the ventilation system, but I guess that is (or at least could be) very local to the room I was given and could probably be easily fixed by maintenance.
K. “. B.
An older hotel, in a superb central location with, consequently, smallish but adequate rooms, which have been given an 'economic' freshen up.
Very competitively priced on a deal via a well known website, so absolutely no complaints there. Tea, coffee, biscuits and water in the room, good buffet breakfast and friendly, professional, and helpful staff.
The downsides being only two power points, which is not really adequate for the number of devices needing charging simultaneously by travellers these days, and the shower, whilst powerful, is still a little less than hot. Link rooms can be a little noisy but great views.
All in all, a great deal at the price point and a great location.
d. a.
Only had a brief business meeting here in the lobby, but was impressed nevertheless. As I was waiting, staff came to ask if I needed anything and wanting to see their reaction I said "I'm just sitting down to be out of the cold for a while". The lady said, "That's fine sir, let me know if you need anything".
Now that's service. Based on this alone, I'll happily meet here again. My colleagues ordered drinks & food and the service was once again excellent and the sandwiches I had were excellent.
Didn't get the lady's name unfortunately, but in my opinion she is a credit to the hotel.
R. S.
Very close to London attractions, within walking distance. The vending machines have condoms and alcohol. The staff is very friendly and professional. They’ve got a Doorman. The hotel has an “Old London” sort of feel in the corridors, rooms are basic and nice.
M. H.
Nice Art Deco Hotel located in Covent Garden Area. My room was small (single person room) but clean and all fine. Great mattress!
Breakfast was so very good. Recommend if you stay in London.
J. C.
We stayed for 6 nights in a cozy superior room at the Strand Palace Hotel and we can only say great things about the place! In terms of price, cleanliness, location and comfort, we couldn't have picked a better place.
Our initial room had an unfortunate odour but as soon as we reported it to the friendly staff, they apologized and found us a new room immediately, issued new keys and offered help to move our luggage. We were unpacking in our new room within a few minutes.
The hotel is within walking distance to Covent Garden, Soho and tube stations and train stations, getting around London from our hotel was incredibly easy!
The room was modern, clean, quiet, and also came with an umbrella which came in handy for the rainy weather!
Thank you again to the helpful and friendly staff!
M. O.
Nice hotel with friendly staff, rooms are small with good beds. The sealing is to low for north EU people, every time you have to watch your head. Breakfast was perfect.
A. S.
That's a fine establishment. Took a double suite which was really nice and spacey. Reconstruction ofcthe hotel is barely noticed. Service is good. Hotel's gym is small but empty so I had a good time here too. Lifts are SO slow :(
D. M.
Hotel is lovely, room very clean and well furnished. Great location

I really enjoyed my stay at the Strand Palace. The rooms are small compared to Canadian hotels which I was familiar. We upgraded to a king room and that felt better. The included daily breakfast was excellent. You have to ask for cream for your coffee, as all the tables normally have milk.
T. H.
Nice room not too big, not cramped. Had a nice bath and comfy bed, worth going for the breakfast deal, although it was quite busy when we went. Really cool shutters in our room. Everything to my satisfaction.
N. B.
Nice rooms and heard little road noise.
Limited menu during Covid. Burger and chips was fantastic
K.
Just visited The Strand Palace for a few nights on s pleasure trip to London, the room was quite small but clean and tidy although tea and coffee making facilities were not replenished after our first night. Location is great but very noisy on the Strand.
My main gripe was that we asked for a cot to be made available when booking but this was not in our room when checked in, it took a further 3 requests over a 5 hour period before it eventually arrived.
Staff were all pleasant especially the doorman who is a credit to the hotel and the reason for 4 stars instead of 3.
M. H.
Big surprise they are having a makeover(April 2019), so You're really welcomed by a much reduced reception. The staff are doing a good effort and you still have the restaurant, bar and breakfast. Rooms are still pretty good for the money..
B. J.
Great stay. Comfortable bed for good sleeps and nice clean modern bathroom. Staff excellent great customer service. A stand out was Philip the doorman what a wonderful helpful courteous friendly man. He deserves a medal a great advertisement for your very nice hotel. Many Thanks
Barbara.

Perfect location for the West End Shows, and great restaurants all around. Rooms extremely comfortable well appointed and have everything you would require tea coffee facilities, iron and board, hairdryer etc however best of all an excellent shower and such a comfortable bed! Perfect hotel for a London stay over.
A. B. S.
Our room was now not ready when we arrived at 4:30 pm. The room was on but rather small. Bed is really big and great quality. Breakfast has everything you need. Location is amazing touching Covent Garden. I guess for the price I paid I had expected a bigger room with a tub. Good experience overall though.
N. B.
Fabulous. This hotel is really fabulous. I was looked after from the moment I got here. I had room service which was fabulous for a very small fee, less than 5 pounds. I am still here but am really enjoying my stay so far. The little note and chocolates plus the slippers and terry gown were fabulous as were the snacks and drinks. Thank you! Will be very happy to return.
T. J.
Lovely hotel rooms where great value for money would stay again when in London as it's very central to where we wanted to be.
W. G.
Really nice if you’re going for drinks in their bar, relaxed atmosphere and not as expensive as you’d think
S. W.
Too long to check in, safe didn’t work, long queues for breakfast
A. A.
Great place to stay on Covent area.
Really I didn't find anything bad about this hotel.
Everything is perfect, If you think is the price little high; trust me the location is great and worth it.
From every were around Covent Garden or Soho is 10-15 minutes walk on safe streets around a lot of stores; that's an important point.
Benefits:
• Good room if you choose one on street view.
• Very good staff.
• Very safe on the side and around the hotel.
• There is a Big Bus 🚌 point 3 minutes away from it.
• There is 2 minutes away from the supermarket.
N. R.
Comfortable stay, compact rooms good for single stay. Their breakfast menu is elaborate but gets too crowded at peak times, staff are friendly but helpless in crowd control. Must optimize this.
S. M.
First time visiting this place since its renovation. Lovely staff - very genuine and friendly. The bar itself has a great, relaxed atmosphere. If you are looking for a place for a quiet drink away from the crowded streets, this is your place. Though naturally I don't want you to know that because I want to keep this gem to myself.

I had a pleasant stay here. I stayed in the Executive Suite. The room was decent and I had no problems. Really appreciated fully stocked tea, coffee and cookies in the room at no extra charge. A nice cup of tea with cookies after all day sight seeing was very relaxing indeed. The location of the hotel is great. Many buses on Strand to get wherever you need to go. The walk to the underground is about ten minutes from the hotel. I was initially walking to the Temple station but then realized that buses too worked well for my needs.
E. J.
I stayed in a newly decorated single room which was comfortable and very clean. Tea and coffee facility but only 2 'milk' which i thought was mean. Didn't enjoy my hot drinks as much with so little milk.
A. R.
Lovely ambiance.Ideal place for a relaxing pre theatre drink in the cocktail bar
G. m. (.
We got the king size exec room, very spacious and the bed was nice to sleep on and well furnished. Hotel had everything from cocktail bar to restaurant, room service was very promote. The food and breakfast was varied and had everything you could want. Price was on the high side for everything but that personal preference if you'd spend that bit extra. 4 star due to price
B. F.
We enjoyed our stay despite the fact that on arrival we found that there was no record of the reservation and the check in process took 15 minutes however we were upgraded to an executive room. The room was quite large however lacked a bath had a very small poor quality travel size hairdryer and no iron. We found the bed hard but we did find all the staff we met to be very helpful and friendly. Our breakfast was in the executive dining area and was pleasant the poached eggs were perfect but the bacon was dry and rubbery. Overall this was a good hotel with great staff which could just do with a slight tweaking
S. M.
A very suitable hotel, friendly staff polite & efficient. The room we stayed in was executive suite, clean & spacious, could of been a little warmer in the room, slightly chilly, it warmed up in the evening. Breakfast was very good. Excellent stay overall.
M. S.
Received recent refurbishment and all areas redecorated and furnished to high standard. Down side is bedrooms are unreasonably small although en suite is good. Breakfast mediocre. Food not hot. Staff surly and bad tempered.. despite this conveniently located and I would go there again.
R. M. (.
Small, but clean, rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Central location, right on the Strand, within walking distance of several top tourist spots. Conference rooms also, on the small side, but with all the amenities you'd need.
M. a. M.
stayed for 5 nights in a single room. Bed was very comfortable, aircon easy to operate, room cleaned to a good standard everyday. This hotel's best selling point is the location - close walk to theatres, soho and other places of interest. Welcoming and friendly doorman during the day.
Single room was a bit small for the price but it is central London. I didnt like that the bathroom had no door on it, lying in bed relaxing with a view of the toilet pan. And also curiously the toilet roll holder was under the sink accross from the toilet pan 😂. The room had a lovely big window but was ridiculously covered by massive wooden shutter which only opened about 20cm - again for the price and lack of natural light was disappointing. Black out curtains would do the same without blocking the window.
Room service food was cooked to a very good standard but dont know how they can justify a 5 pound charge of each order plus a 12.5 percent service fee so i only ordered once.
I would stay there again. The stay was pleasant and location great, i think i was expecting something a bit more special for the price. Ive stayed in a generic chain very close by and the rooms are bigger and room service better value.
O. R.
Hotel unfinished and a dated room. Told we had an upgrade but this didn’t feel like one. Scaffolding going up all night outside and building works in the hotel. Good central location and a very friendly doorman. A very average stay.
D. P.
My wife and I stayed here for three nights. Went there for St Patrick's day celebrations. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean.Convenient to use as a base for sightseeing. One problem barman acknowledged me standing waiting to be served two girls with short skirts came in and he went straight to them ignoring me. Apart from that a pleasant enough stay.
P. O.
Solid 4 star hotel. The old rooms are in good shape. The recently remodeled rooms are modern and chic. 24hr room service with good selections. Friendly, personable staff. They remember who you are day to day. The current construction is barely noticeable and doesn’t start until after 8:30am. Two thumbs up for this well managed property.
K. B.
Great food. Stayed for a work trip. Standard single room. Both times I stayed was comfortable and had all I needed. Fan in the room too, which was helpful as the standard rooms do not have air con. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location for seeing London too.
M. S.
We had a lovely stay in this hotel for our 20th anniversary. The hotel was very well located. The room well appointed, although small and the windows could not be opened during some improvement works they had ongoing. Breakfast was fine (but we had to queue). We attended the comedy club that happened to be held there on our second night. Very convenient for so much of London.
D. d. K.
Super hot rooms. Only floor 8 and 9 had airco, but these were of course fully booked. Normally I don't mind the heat, but this was too much. Staff upgraded me to a larger hot room which was great since I was awake most of the night. Also no fridge in the room...
Room and bathroom were clean.
D. L.
Great place, very convenient for theatre.
J. H.
Excellent service. Receptionist Connie was great. When she found out it was our anniversary a bottle of wine was sent to our room. All staff polite can't do enough for you
Would highly recommend this hotel
P. B.
Massive hotel and great location for central London. Visiting for a conference so only spent the night. Rooms were comfortable and basic. Bathroom was smaller than Harry Potter's room under the stairs.
s. w.
Comfortable, and you can't get a better location
M. W.
Great location. Very large busy hotel. Small room and unfortunate banging from workman in tge yard early the next morning didn't help. Breakfast ok but rather tasteless.
J. R.
Clean & tidy. Room is a bit small but I did only book a cosy room. This is not a complaint only a comment. The location is fantastic for just about everything you need it want to do in London. Would definitely stay again.

Overnight stay
Stayed one night and was pleasantly surprised. It's on the Strand and very close to all the theatres. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and very spacious, which is rare for London. Breakfast was good too.
A. N.
This hotel is all about location. The inside lobby of the hotel was lovely, but the room (despite being 'executive') was tiny. we had a window that looked directly into a mildew covered wall about a foot away.
Again, however, the location was perfect. The staff were all nice and friendly also.
V. M.
Just ok. The rooms are too small and pretty costly for the price. I paid around £200 per night and got a room as tiny as a bathroom in India. Food - had only the breakfast there. Breakfast was not included in the package, but the spread was nice. It was a bit costly too. But, it’s central London and things are quite expensive in this part of the world :).
Rooms are quite small and narrow. Had a single bed, small toilet and dressing area. Thankfully my room had a read chair as well! When I checked in the TV was not working. But maintenance ensured to change the TV within 30 mins of complaining.
A. A.
Very friendly staff
Clean
But the room was very small
L. V.
The hotel staff very helpful and overall had a pleasant stay. It’s centrally located and we used the HotelTonight app to get a great deal so that was another plus. Tons of fun stuff within walking distance and there was minor renovations happening inside of the hotel and we heard NONE of it while sleeping.
D. H.
I have been staying in Marriotts for quite some time since I was a platinum member. I thought I would try something else closer to the center of London. This place was pretty nice. Great location. My only complaint is the construction that started before 8am. It was so loud and was right next door.
D. T.
Great street lot's of shops
E. B.
Location great surrounded by theatres and just a couple of minutes walk from Covent garden. Bedroom rather small considering the cost and fairly loud at night. Severe lack of seating for breakfast led to ques for tables. Nice room! Amazing shower!
A. P.
Wasn't sure where to go when we showed up but once the porter was asked he pointed us in right route. Had an issue with the room payment that had been made with agent in Nov but was cleared up and resolved quickly. Room was lovely along with beds comfort too. Good place to see when your going to see lion king as its right around corner. All staff were great apart from 2 but they didn't spoil our trip as the rest stood out. Would definitely be back
B. K.
Very polite and competent service all around. We had planned to go see the musical The Lion King, the hotel concierge got us the best seats in a matter of minutes. Excellent.
The breakfast (extra cost) is very much to my liking. Everything you could possibly want from a breakfast.
I'm definitely going here again next time I'm in London.
B. B.
Great central location. We had a nice cosy double room, with a clean and simple bathroom. There was no air con so it was a bit stuffy. Basic tea and coffee facilities in the room, complimentary bottled water. There was no iron, but we got one on request. It leaked water everywhere and the board was rickety. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of cooked, continental, cereal, yoghurt and fruit. All in all a pleasant hotel in a great location with a comfy bed.
J. O.
I love this place, because the service is exceptional. The last time that I went there, I received a free mug and tea bags as there was a conference taking place. The rooms are beautiful and there is room service too. One can see a view of the busy London cabs, buses, and cars going along the road.
I. F.
It's like being in a tent.. Since 745 there has been drilling banging shouting and stomping. Room's clean enough but have been in better travel lodges. Then there was the matter of the £34 for 2 gin and tonics🤔. Much better hotels for less money.
N.
One of the better london hotels in my opinion. Stayed here many times, received plenty of free upgrades and extras. Staff are really kind and helpful. Concierge is great and overall its great value for a central London hotel. Great location for exploring Trafalgar Square, Buckingham palace, the London eye, Soho and so on
B. G.
Great place to stay. We got upgraded without even asking. Great location. Lifts were a bit confusing. Would need updating inside and it was quite noisy hearing other people in the rooms. All in all pretty good. I would avoid the bars inside, they are very expensive when you have cafes on the Strand for 50% less.
T. M.
The hotel stay was nice. The Strand Palace is located on one of the main roads with quick access to many of the bus lines and several tube stops. The staff was pleasant and helpful with excellent housekeeping everyday. It was also conveniently located by several shops, pubs, and restaurants in Covent Gardens. We'd definitely stay here again!
J. S.
The room was clean and had everything you need. The beds were comfy, the room had all desirable amenities. It’s right in the centre of London, in walking distance of great restaurants, shops and the tube, very helpful and friendly staff, check in and out was quick and simple
G. C.
Stayed in a newly refurbished king room. Room was spacious enough for two. Bed was either two twins or a split mattress, but no concerns.
Restaurant and bars were great. Service was good, especially at the Gin Palace. Great little spot to get some quiet time in a very busy city.
Concierge was ok. Failed to call in our car request to Heathrow, but it worked out for the better. Uber is far less expensive.
I. H.
The hotel is nice and cosy. Staff replace your toiletries each morning. You get an umbrella, iron and iron7ng board in your closet
Good breakfast options, with coffee or tea given to you at your table.
I. S.
The location is perfect, it's close to public transport, but within walking distance to the London eye, big ben, etc. The room was clean and cosy, the only thing is that the bathroom had no door. But i didn't mind. Lovely hotel and i hope to come back again
K. A.
Excellent location. My room was on the 9th floor so quiet. No view but then I was only there for one night and on business travel.
WiFi was decent. Breakfast is help yourself buffet and seemed too busy - people had to wait to be seated but staff were polite.
G. R.
I probably need a second stay.
Lobby is great.
Staff is very helpful and friendly.
The Doubles room though was very small, I just fitted in the bathroom.
Corridor Leasing to the room (3rd floor) Gould enjoy a refurbishing.
Location is perfect.
Would surelly recomend After Viewing another room.
C. C.
A lovely hotel with friendly staff and close to everything. The breakfast was buffet style and delicious, the bed was comfortable, the Wi-Fi reliable and the room was very clean. The only downside for me was having to clamber into the bath to take a shower but everything else was perfect. I would certainly stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone who wants value for money.
R. B.
The location of the Strand Palace Hotel is excellent, and rooms are reasonably priced for a central London hotel. The rooms themselves are clean, comfortable and adequately furnished. My only negative point is that they've recently had new linen and the towels are shedding fluff a little.
D. B.
Stop the night here very lovely place indeed food was lovely
J. W.
Quite a nice choice for a business trip, the standard single room is fine and has all you need, unless it's a hot day. Then you should take an upgrade for a room with an airco. Hotel staff is very helpful and understanding. Great location for business trip and obviously for seeing London too.
J. M.
Big improvement since the revamp. Nice clean rooms although they do lack air-conditioning and the bathrooms could do with some further renovation as the showers feel a little dated.
Room blacks out nicely and the free wifi works well. Favourite of mine is the 'lazy Sunday' offer allowing a check out up until 5pm on a Sunday, which is great if you're out on the Saturday or want a room to come back to in the afternoon.
H. M.
Stayed for a work trip, the single room was extremely small but we'll equipped. Reasonable price for a central location. Breakfast was good with lots of choice and the room spotlessly clean.
J. L.
Good location, but traffic noise can be bothersome if your room faces Strand. Front desk service is neither friendly nor helpful. Although they accepted payment for early check in, they don't guarantee availability and just tell you to sit around for indeterminate hours because the room hasn't been cleaned and front desk staff can't be bothered to ask housekeeping when it will be done. Staff just wants to say "no" instead of finding a solution.
s.
The best reason to stay here is the location, easy to get to and from Leicester sq, Piccadilly etc. Room was recently refurbished, clean and tidy, not big but enough for the two of us. Bathroom was clean and compact, had bath and shower in it. Drinks in the bar were pricey. Rest of the hotel was ok, a touch shabby but not the worst. I’d stay again. Wifi was really good.
A. C.
Friendly staff, great location. Rooms very tidy. Happy to stay there again.
S. F.
It's a nice hotel on the outside and in the lobby but the room wasn't really any better than a standard budget room. I was upgraded to an executive room but the room wasn't anything to brag about. The breakfast was alright but I'd have preferred to have eaten with the other breakfast room so I could choose my own food. The location is excellent and I would stay again but not as impressive as I first thought.
C. S.
Great staff, polite and friendly. Had an executive room which was perfect. Pillow a little too soft but bed comfortable. Didn't eat in the hotel apart from breakfast which was great, huge selection and quality ingredients. I'm in in London I'll be back.
o. l.
A nice place! The staff is friendly and attentive, sometimes a little slow though. They have roomservice here, but it's also nice to eat or drink in the lobby, the restaurant or the bar. This hotel also has a nice hair dryer, that is not the cheapest one. The location is pretty good, because there are underground such as bus stations nearby. The National Gallery is only 10 minutes away aswell.
L. W.
Perfect location, gorgeous hotel, friendly staff..
F. K.
This hotel has an excellent location, and there are many opportunities for shipping and eating within minutes of walking. The rooms are nice and clean, and the breakfast is good. I have stayed here many times, and I will surely come back.
A. A. /. R. E. P.
Rooms are small, no laundry provided, lost my wallet in the vending room, Noone cares about helping me find it. Breakfast is OK, do not pay for it you can get it cheaper elsewhere. Check in lady was very nice and helpful when we checked in. Good location though, very central to everything.
D. B.
Great location. Older building, room was average but clean (Americans- it's smaller than you're used to). Lifts are slow, better to just take the stairs. No washcloths (flannels) in the bath, ice machine on first floor only(Americans, it's the second floor) and the toilet was leaky, there's no fridge in room.
J. P.
There are some really good things about this hotel which include cleanliness, comfortable bed, good toiletries, a bar that I feel happy in sitting on my own. But the rooms are small and I had a view of a wall! The worst thing was the breakfast. Travelling on my own always makes self service breakfast a challenge. I spent a considerable time toasting bread and getting fruit juice, the waitress had brought my tea. I then went to queue for my eggs and bacon leaving everything else on my table untouched. I came back to find it being cleared. No apology I was told in broken English that I shouldn't have left it in the table. Very grudgingly she bought more tea. I felt very uncomfortable and it spoilt my stay. I did try to find someone to tell them about my dissatisfaction but there was no one available.
J. P.
The room on the 9th floor was comfortable and quiet. However, I did not appreciate being woken up by the maid twice despite only staying for one night and having a do not disturb sign on the door!
S. M.
Lot of work going on in hotel but upgraded to a room with free minibar & a bottle of bubbly for my birthday. Staff all very helpful. Lifts quick to arrive.
L. M.
The location is nearly perfect, just a shame it isn't closer to a subway station, as it adds an extra ~10 minutes to wherever you want to go. The staff are also really good and friendly. The room is disappointing, very small and despite having a window, there is no view. Despite its disappointing size, it is still very clean, so they at least got the basics right. For the price I was expecting a bit more, having to pay even more for breakfast was disappointing as the price is more than enough already.
L. L. B.
Good hotel very well located in the middle of the west end district. Staff is courteous and efficient, the rooms are clean and comfortable but for my experience could be a bit small and warm as air conditioning is not a standard option and noisy. This is a real nice hotel though.
M. S.
Stayed with 2 friends as we did when the refurbishment work was going on all of us were impressed then. To see the result of the work was absolutely stunning.
We would have no hesitation in staying again and highly recommend the Strand Palace.
Big thankyou to the staff as well
v. c.
We had lunch in the Strand Palace before going to the theater nearby. Very smart hotel, welcoming staff but dining room a little dark and uninviting; not what you expect in the West End. Excellent luncheon, my husband thoroughly enjoyed it but little choice for me, a vegetarian. Overall a good experience.
E. B.
Lovely hotel which is very reasonably priced in a great location, especially if you are wanting a hotel close to many of the west end theatres. We arrived in London before 10am and although we were too early to check in we was able to leave our luggage. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would recommend staying in the superior rooms as these have been recently refurbished and worth paying that little bit extra for. There's a couple of restaurants within the hotel so ideal if you would rather pre book a table and eat close to where you're staying.
N. C.
Unbelievable location, almost didn't need the underground with how close this is to most sites. Friendly staff, room was always in top shape, standard size room for hotels in older buildings. Room did not have Air Conditioning, but in January it didn't matter, the radiator worked very well. Instant hot water in the shower.
L. S.
Perfect location in the heart of London. We stayed for 10 days in May 2018. Easy to walk, take the tube or grab a cab to all the favorite sites. Steps away from west end shows and great restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. The service excellent. The morning breakfast buffet was delicious with a broad selection of both hot and cold. The Carvery Grill was lovely for a Sunday Roast, any day of the week. I would highly recommend the Strand Palace.
S. H.
Overnight for theatre, very comfortable.
T. R.
On the whole we had a great stay at The Strand Palace. We stayed in the Club room and found that it was actually quite spacious. We had some friends back to our room and comfortably could sit five of us in there before going out for the evening so I'm not sure what others mean by saying the rooms are small. By London standards it was on the higher end of average sized! The room was exceptionally clean as was the bathroom. My only complaint about the room itself was that I found the pillows were flat and a little uncomfortable.
The bed was very comfy though. The walls are thin so if people are making noise in the hallways you will hear it but we didn't really find this to be a problem. Free wifi is a bonus! Especially as it was quite fast and was not limited to one computer. Downsides: the elevators are incredibly slow and it can take a while to actually get in one. Also, if you are leaving late in the afternoon but want to keep your bags at the hotel you will pay £2 per item for the privilege. I've stayed in hotels across London with a variety of star ratings and this was the first time I have been asked to do this. On the whole the location is superb and it is a nice hotel. It's not my favorite by far but the staff are friendly and the room is nice
T. L. P.
This place seems like it'll be lovely once the building work is done, but the noise, dirt, and disruption is significant for now. The bathroom cleanliness was also rather lacking... rooms are quite tired, but might the fixed in the renovations?
V. W.
Room lovely - comfortable and clean. Enjoyed breakfast, plenty of choice and everything was delicious. Really pleased with the express checkout option as well. Excellent location for most attractions. Would stay again!
S. C.
Excellent Hotel. Very comfortable rooms. Very helpful staff. Good breakfast & buffet restaurant. Have a luggage room to put your bags if needed. Online check in & check out. Great where situated on the Strand for Theatres, Covent Garden etc. Also buses very good.
c. c.
Excellent staff, rooms clean, linen spotless.. Undergoing refurbishment but only a small hinderance to those who have used the hotel before.. Usually would give 5 stars but in all honesty deserves more than 4
K. S.
Nice place, room small but clean and warm. The down was that in the Sunday morning ladies who were cleaning other rooms woken us up by standing and shouting next to our door! I understand that rooms have to be cleaned but come on! At least speak quietly so ppl can get some sleep on the weeekend.
J. M.
Stayed here many times, lovely hotel friendly staff perfect.
S. B.
We recently had a one night stay at the Strand, we were visiting to watch a show. The hotel is undergoing a refurb at the moment, but this didn't affect our visit in any way. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, from the receptionists to the porter and the room cleaners who helped us find our rooms.
The rooms were very comfortable with lovely en suites, and with all facilities.
The Sacred Cafe which is on the ground floor is well worth a visit. They also do beers as well as lovely teas and coffees.
There is so much to see and do, that you Definitly need a plan, just avoid wasting any time. You will still need many more visits. We would definitly stay at The Strand again and recommend to others.
D. J.
What a lovely hotel. Clean, bright, well appointed rooms, comfy beds, wonderful staff, and a great location. We've stayed there twice and hope to return again some day.
D. B.
Decent price, the room had a nice view, but otherwise not a memorable experience.
This hotel was chosen to be our first destination in London — staying for just a night before heading to the Sofitel — so a good first impression was necessary as we had endured a seven and a half hour flight with my fiancée having no sleep and after traveling the Tube with heavy baggage. Nicely enough, albeit expected, they took our luggage early, but our room was not even ready by the designated check-in time and we were waiting around in the lobby with her exhausted and I anxious to lie down. There was nothing offered to us for this delay, not even a refreshment, and when we arrived at our room we were dismayed by how tiny it was. Prior to that they asked if we wanted to upgrade to a better, air-conditioned room (didn’t know the original did not have A/C) for an additional charge. Considering the heat in London we had little choice but to oblige.
The view from the small window was pretty cool: the City of London during sunrise and sunset was a spectacular sight to see. There was only a shower facility, no bath, but basic amenities were there. The TV was okay. The channel selection was basic. The bed was fairly comfortable. The tea boiler and biscuits appreciated.
Aside from that it was all pretty okay. Our biggest issue was the lack of accommodations on time and the small room size (and no A/C by default!). The main area’s decor was pretty but we didn’t try their bar and dining areas. Proximity to downtown Covent Garden was a plus though.
O. Y.
Location, perfect. Just a walk away from central which is nice. However, walls are extremely thin and the room I was staying in must've been a bigger room previously as there's a doorway that's not very well blocked off so I could hear everything from next door. Shower is either extremely hot or luke warm. I wasn't fully satisfied for the price I've paid.
T. M.
Location is great, hotel is surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cafes. Right behind hotel is Covent Garden where you will find a lot of good F&B options. I stayed in a room which is very small, 8 sq m in size.
M. S.
Excellent location. Superb value for money. Room was on the smaller size but we were not in London to hang out in the room all day. Service was spotless.
S. H.
Here for pre-ordered afternoon tea as part of a larger group. Seemed a little bit chaotic but food nice - fresh, delicious, colourful and well presented. They catered well for my gluten intolerant friend too. Its a nice place and extremely handy for a number of theatres in the area
B. P.
Good clean and very welcoming hotel, superb value for the moderate price.
S. B.
Good very clean hotel but not quite value for the money paid. If the price was 30-40 pounds less for the night I would have rated 5 stars
A. J.
Room was OK but a bit on the small side. Drinks expensive but not surprising in London. Good position to get around and see all the sights. Covent Garden just around the corner. Was quite appalled at the way staff set up for breakfast. Holding cups from the rim with fingers and tables not wiped down before setting up. Hygiene and infection control non existant. Pleased we hadn't booked for breakfast.
C. A.
Room was very basic with just a single bed. Wi-fi in the room worked well enough. Breakfast was good although instructions on how breakfast worked ( where to go etc) were incorrect. Lifts were prompt and breakfast was good. I didn't try the restaurant. Decor was very nice and it's a good location.
S. H.
I’ve stayed at the strand palace 4 times, it’s by far one of the more affordable hotels in London with great facilities and lovely breakfasts.
Even the single rooms are a good size and very clean.
Visit the Gin Palace and get yourself a retro gimlet for a real taste of the 80s.
Best of all, all the staff here no Full well what gluten is.
J. M.
The strand Palace is a decent hotel with basic rooms and a basic English breakfast. The location is great if you want to be near London's historic heart.
The rooms are small but clean. Each room has television and a decent number of channels.
The hotel seems to be frequented mostly by business travelers and adult tourists.

Definitely not as good as when we first started going here. Bar service is basic (see pic of snacks that used to come foc with drinks). Breakfast used to be brought to the table now all self service and the first day we were told that there was no gluten free bread! If you are unlucky enough to be seated in the back room walk through to the main servery where they keep stocked up more frequently. Fried eggs to hard, poached eggs whites too runny.

A luxuriant hotel with sprawling lobby and very helpful staff. Despite having paid upfront however in was asked for a £50 deposit to be allowed to stay. I could not pay this and whilst the hotel eventually relented I ended up with a tiny double room - smaller than a Travel Lodge - probably due to this.

Excellent location! Great stuff. The rooms are OK (very basic). Basic breakfast.
The dinning room stuff is very service oriented. The hotel facilities and rooms are old. The English breakfast very BORING and they never change it!

Stayed here while seeing a show at The Adelphi theatre, it was beautiful and the staff were very accommodating to help as much as they can. I suggest booking for afternoon tea or a meal in the bar or even the Gin Bar cocktails and share platter were amazing

This place gets five stars for service & history. The first London Hotel I stayed in 40 years ago & it has not lost in charm. Right On the stand, you don’t even need to pack an over night bag; boots the pharmacy opposite for toiletries, gentleman’s outfitters in the same building & ladies shops near by. You can even get to Joe Allen’s the Famous show biz restaurant from inside the building as it is below the hotel. The budget rooms are small but offer charm the deluxe room are exactly what they say. So if you want a night out in the West End Of London & do not want to break the bank, this is the place for you

The hotel facilities and bar are great but the room I stayed in was a little on the small side with narrow gaps between the bed and the table. OK for a night or too but would be cramped over a week - look for a bigger room at the front of the hotel. The hotel has free WiFi, ironing rooms and a good concierge too. Obviously the location is great.
