Wonderful hotel. Unbeatable location. We ended up riding buses all around London and everywhere we went we could get a bus back to Charing Cross! The staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel has a beautiful interior, and smells great (apparently a water lily scent designed just for the hotel)! Lots of lovely little touches everywhere. We will be back.

Absolutely amazing hotel, the whole place is just beautiful. We stayed for the weekend for my birthday and had a fantastic time. The room and bed were huge, very clean and there were just lovely touches. The bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. The hotel is right next to the tube and well connected to Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and close to so many handy amenities. We will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. Our room had a London eye view and our friend's room had views of St. Paul's, (and these weren't the deluxe rooms!)
Lots of hotel amenities, central location... Faultless. Will definitely be coming back.

Restaurant review: a pleasant dinner even though the food is nothing special; I’d say average or better than your standard British food. For staters I had the fishcake which was too salty in my opinion. For main I had the cauliflower and spinach pie which was good served with a vegan mash and greens. Our host, Renata, was very nice and provided a good service even treating us to some bubbly on the house. For desert the Eton Mash is very tasty and a rather huge portion.

Excellent location, beautiful hotel, great breakfast. Staff really friendly. Giving my honest opinion floors where squeaky in rooms above, had to ask to move room, best to ask to stay top floor. Staff where very understanding. But not taking it away from the hotel, I would stay again at it👍

We went for an afternoon tea, very lovely place and friendly staff. Not all cakes were of our taste, but overall we had a nice time. Kids friendly as well. Would recommend!

We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant last week. The ambience was happy and peaceful. Renata was serving us and she made our dinners for the whole evening full of joy and delight. Her sweet welcoming smile coupled with very attentive service will definitely smooth your day’s hard work.
For a place that offers a very tasty 3-course meal in central London and it’s not expensive, worth recommending and re-visits. Thank you.

We had a bottomless brunch booked in the restaurant and I can honestly say Cyan’s service was the best I’ve ever seen. She was quick to refill our glass and very quick with service. Can honestly say if anyone deserves a raise/promotion it’s her. She was amazing

We had a great meal in the restaurant last week. Renata and Rose were serving us and they made the whole evening fabulous . They were very attentive and the food was great.
Well worth it, highly recommending, Thank you

Booked this hotel as part of a package, so wasn't expecting great things. Wow, how wrong was I? We arrived early, it is located right outside the main entrance to Charing Cross, how easy is that to find? Andrea checked us in and we felt a bit out of place in our jeans and T shirts, but were made to feel welcome. Another bonus is that you are given a token each to spend in the bar, a nice tough given London prices!! The hotel was clean and warm, the lifts shiny and spotless. The room was well presented, clean and comfy with monsoon shower head and even some sweets left on the table. Complimentary mini bar (non alcoholic) is another nice touch that others could do with copying. Breakfast was a buffet and the selection was good. Cereals, fruit juices and traditional English too! The only things that stopped me giving 5 stars, and I am nit picking really is that a) We were not told the bar was shut (and is for 10 days) when checking in, in fact, were were encouraged to visit. You can sit in the restaurant, but it isn't the same. b) The doorbell that is fitted to the room is not on a spring button, but on a on/ off. We didn't know about this and upon putting the card in the slot, this siren sounded and scared the life out of us. We had to go back to reception and when maintenance turned up, we felt like a right pair of lemons!!

I took my partner to the Clermont restaurant for her birthday dinner. The Hotel looked fantastic in its festive finery and we where shown to a lovely table with great views. We had the three course festive menu which was good and that was washed down with lots of lovely Prosecco. The staff remembered it was my partners birthday and sang her happy birthday and brought her some nice chocolate cake. This helped make it a memorable birthday dinner. A big thank you to our server Konrad who was excellent through out and the Maitre d Rosy who was friendly, attentive and supremely outstanding. Thank you.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful attention to details, excellent customer service. I wasn't particularly impressed by the hot food for breakfast but it was still good enough to give the hotel 5 stars overall.

Great location, and lovely room, friendly staff. BUT you can hear the other guests in your room, we were woken up many times though the night. We also got locked out twice! (No fault of our own).
At breakfast you will find cheap sausages and supermarket value bread ... Perhaps we were a bit 'unlucky' but it all added up to dampen our stay.... read on for more info...
For the price in my opinion I think you can find better places to stay in the same area - but if you stay here it is a good location and the hotel is clean and tidy.
Top floor;
We read in the reviews to stay on floor 6 (top floor) due to the sound from rooms above so we tried to stay on the top floor but the best they could offer was a 5th floor room. Unfortunately the guest above returned to their room at 3:30am and proceeded to dance around in their room for over an hour keeping us awake. Definitely try to get a 6th floor room if you want to sleep the entire night.
Locked out;
We also had some fun with our key cards after the cleaner left a card in the room. We took it down to breakfast and when we returned we realised the key didn't work for our room. So we went back to reception and got another couple of keys coded for our room. BUT what we were not told was that our existing two keys would now not work.
So we went out for the day with our original keys in our pockets, returning only to find they didn't work. So we went back to reception again and were told to join the back of a long queue of check-ins (!!), waited for 10 minutes and got our keys recoded again (with no apology or agreement that they should make it clearer to discard old key cards). Very frustrating, if only they had said that we MUST use the new key cards and the old cards we had been given when we checked in would no longer work.
Breakfast;
For the amount they charge to stay here per night we wouldn't rate the breakfast compared to similar hotels we have stayed in in the area. Cheap sausages and supermarket value bread ...
Water;
The hotel kindly give water in the mini bar which is replenished daily. On one day, we weren't given water so requested some as reception which the lady said would of course be fine. 10minutes later she phoned our room saying we weren't given water because WE had put 'do not disturb on our door'... This was false as the room had been cleaned and bed made. It was as if she was calling to say it was our own fault we weren't given water?! Bizarre and honestly found it quite rude and unnecessary.
Three stars out of 5 in my opinion. We will be staying elsewhere on our next visit.

Nice old style hotel in the heart of London. Walking distance from the Big Ben, parlement, river Thames, great restaurants and next to station Charing Cross. Friendly staff. See you next time!
S. M.
Lovely hotel. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Renata was a wonderful host in the restaurant and the staff in the bar were equally lovely (Rosy and Amira). Would recommend especially if you're after a relaxed evening in Central London without all the hustle and bustle.

Had an excellent family meal in the 1st floor restaurant at The Clermont Hotel. Lovely sophisticated surrounds before seeing the Lion King just around the corner. Good service, lovely deco, great steak and an excellent location.

We stayed here in January 2019, when it was under different ownership and a different name "Amba". We were very happy with our stay back then which is why we opted to stay here again when up in London for a Commemorative event down at Embankment.
The location is great and very accessible by train with Charing Cross Station immediately next door so no need to drive.
I contacted the hotel prior to arrival just to ask a question about any changes from our last stay - we had various complimentary things in our previous room and use of a "private" lounge area then. I received a call back from a very nice gentleman who explained that the hotel had been renovated and that the private lounge had gone but that the main restaurant had been refurbished etc. and that there would be some pleasant surprises when we got there. Indeed there was!
As expected the welcome couldn't have been warmer and, as before, from arrival to departure nothing was too much trouble and no-one was anything but superb and hospitable.
We received an upgraded room which was stunning - so much so we didn't really want to go out and sightsee! We ate in the restaurant on Friday night and the staff were beyond helpful and nice. The food was good too and not (as expected) expensive. Breakfast was buffet style but very good and, again, the staff were exceptional.
If you think I'm being paid for this review - I'm not and if you think that we'll stay here again you are "right on the button!"
As you can see, my rating rating for here are 5 star throughout but if a higher rating were available then the Clermont would get it for certain! Thank you for an amazing stay and we will definitely be back. 💖

I visited the restaurant at The Clermont on Saturday night with my wife for her birthday meal using the Wowcher deal. From being welcomed to the minute we left the service was excellent. Our hosts were Renata and Carlos - and they were both extremely helpful and polite a real credit to The Clermont. We had a lovely table overlooking The Strand and our meals ( three courses ) were extremely tasty. I have been recommending The Clermont to friends and family and we will definitely visit again. A nice touch too by the staff was a slice of chocolate cake with a candle in it for my wife's birthday. Thank you for making the celebrations special :)
T. m.
Renata was outstandingly great!!! We had a 3 course meal, Renata was so friendly, polite & helpful. We had the best evening. Thank you so much Renata x
G. B.
Lovely place bang in the centre of town. We had a meal at the restaurant and loved both the venue and the food. The ambience and the service is top notch. For what you get it is not very expensive either. The only thing I did not enjoy was the dessert. It was a vegan chocolate orange cake ... it was super dry. My bad for ordering vegan :)
Strongly recommend a meal there..
J. b.
Stayed here for my birthday 🎂 been to see Beverly Knight at the Garrick theatre Drifters Girl. This hotel is beautiful throughout staff are nice and our room is spotless clean 👌

This hotel does not look much from the outside, but when you get in it is really nice. Right by Charing Cross Station, adjacent to Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, No 10, Parliament, Big Ben, Buckhingham Palace you could not be more central. Yet you cannot hear the traffic from inside the hotel! The staff are lovely, really nice food and drinks. Really good option for a meal or overnight stay.
R. S.
I went here last month on the 22nd December and such lovely staff, very welcoming made my boys birthday very special. 100% recommend had the set menu and it was delicious
M. M.
Was here on a lunch deal with a friend. The hotel is under new ownership and has had a makeover and it is lovely. We loved our food, the service from Cyan was wonderful. We praised the food so much that two of the chefs, Amit and Amir came out to say hello. Terrific afternoon, great food, lovely views over Trafalgar Square, comfortable restaurant and the best service. We will be back!
M. H.
We had a voucher for the evening 3 course meal. The food was good but what made our meal even better was the excellent service from Renata & Konrad. My partner was even given a surprise slice of cake as it was her birthday.
We will definitely eat here again.
Thanks
G.
Great welcome from Faysal who was very attentive. He is a real credit to your hotel as is all your team members as everytime I'm here it's like seeing old friends..see you again 😊
D. J.
Hotel is ideally located and grand in stature. Friendly staff who cannot do enough to make you welcome. Room was spotless and well presented. Breakfast was well cooked and catered to my specific needs. Recommended.
D. S.
Fabulous friendly staff, comfortable rooms and good food and drink served politely and well, make this, along with it's location, an ideal place for a short break in the capital
D. S.
Had afternoon tea...lovely
Amazing place ... stayed after tea for drink in the bar staff were lovely..Would like the definitely stay there .
J. G.
Quiet space off the Strand which is less glitzy than its rich sister along the road, The Savoy, and yet, the Clermont is full of old world charm and has an elegant bar for cocktails divided into three spacious rooms. The barman was charming and the drinks delicious. A great find and meeting place. Jamie 🍍
S. C.
So far excellent, beautiful room and very clean. Superb friendly helpful staff, a very relaxing atmosphere.
I. R.
Great hotel .. staff are lovely and helpful and the hotel is full of extra little touches like a free drink in the bar for your stay, a slice of cake in your room on arrival and plenty of complimentary food and drink. Would definitely stay again
S. B.
I had afternoon tea with a friend to celebrate a birthday. We could not have more welcomed by the staff. Plenty of good, tea, coffee and fizz. A slice of opulence in beautiful surroundings. Will definitely return
A. R.
Loved this place. Brilliant location, right next to Trafalgar Square, minutes away from Soho and Leicester Square. Walked down to Buckingham Palace, through St James Park.
Service is good. They knew it was our kids first visit to London so they sorted a jar of sweets in the room as a treat! Nice touch... kids were pleased. There's a loaded fridge in the suites with a good selection of drinks (free).
Only downside is the bar and restaurant were operating at limited times, but with so many places around this hotel it didn't bother us at all.
Overall lovely place!
J. C.
We had a bottomless brunch today in The Terrace Restaurant. Everything was fabulous but must praise the 2 members of staff who looked after us they were exceptional. One was called Cyan but the other lady didn't have a name badge. Thank you for making it a great experience.
W. B.
Loved this hotel. Staff were amazing, friendly and so welcoming. My daughters first time as a birthday treat and had a surprise choc cake in our room. We had the best time. Thankyou! We can’t wait to come back very soon.
G. S.
Fantastic hotel. Amazing staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, shame it was only one night.
M.
A beautiful hotel in a busy and noisy area of London.
Room was outstanding mini bar treats.
Breakfast was also lovely
Bar staff not that helpful tbh. And the room was very noisy at night.
Got woken up at 3am 4am was told by manager its London. Which I wouldn't expect from a £300 a night hotel.
S. D.
We had a 3 course meal on Saturday 23rd oct and Renata served us and made it even more special with her loving service. She arranged my friend a a slice of cake and made her birthday special. The hotel is stunning and makes it a five star venue for your special occasions. Food is delicious a
& portions that leaves you feeling full and happy. As soon as you enter the hotel it smells so clean and fresh. I’m coming here again and have already booked. Great work @ The Clermont
M. B.
Didn't stay at the hotel but had a beautiful meal in the restaurant. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend for a lovely meal.
C. M.
Lovely spot. Terrific service, knowledgeable staff, delicious breakfast and most importantly, a really, really comfy bed! Very centrally located for the West End if that's what you need, a minutes walk from Trafalgar Square.
Building itself is a magnificent old master, with great views, sweeping wide staircases and tasteful decor. Complimentary drinks too, (thanks again) and a great room for the family that's actually very reasonably priced. Well done Clermont, I'm impressed.
S. M.
Very nice stay. Great room and food. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.
A. B.
Stayed here for one night.
The staff are fantastic, go above and beyond, always welcoming.
The room was spacious, the bed was lovely and comfortable.
Hair dryer, iron and kettle all available in the room.
Complementary soft drinks, tea's and coffee.
Ideal base to visit the sights of London.
L. P.
We had a fantastic stay! I can't fault the room, which was clean and well furnished. We particularly appreciated the complimentary minibar and that it was restocked every night. Breakfast was delicious, and the breadbasket was a delight. The staff went above and beyond to make it an enjoyable stay; thank you!

This hotel is located at Charing Cross Station.
We visited to make use of one of their meeting rooms for a Company meeting.
They have a number of meeting rooms of various sizes.
The facilities are standard and the service was about the same.
We had some issues with getting breakfast items cleared away in the middle of presentations however this may be due to a lack of waiting staff to cover all of the meeting rooms.
We had a rather disappointing lunch before leaving for the day.
A. C.
Didn't stay at hotel but had dinner here tonight Friday 27th,cannot praise the staff in the restaurant enough. So lovely, attentive and could not do enough for us. Special thanks to Rosa for being so lovely. Highly recommended
us.

We had two rooms pre booked and pre paid at the Claremont Victoria. We were moved here due to a covid issue at Victoria. No problem, it's not much further and it is a pleasant walk. On check in however it went a bit wrong. Ruben checked my wife and friends in and gave them a hard time. Demanded payment for the second room and also a deposit.
Once I had parked and arrived, I dealt with pierluigi who was amazing! He is a real asset to the hotel group and really did everything he could to quickly resolve the issue and refund my wife's card. He explained the rooms had indeed been pre paid and Ruben had made a mistake. I also dealt with Ruben on another occasion and found him no where near as good as pierluigi.
Our rooms were good and spacious with coffee machines, well stocked minibar and snacks, robes and everytwe could need. I will say the floors are VERY sqeeky in some rooms (1516!) But not a major issue. There is additional glazing for noise and for central London, this hotel is quiet! Greta location with a short walk to everything you could want or need. We'll be back!
L. M.
Wow, wow, wow. Beautiful hotel, happy, relaxed and welcoming staff. Gorgeous breakfast and incredible location. We didn't want to ever leave!
S. D.
Such a fab afternoon tea, we had the best time and will be back. Hotel beautiful and service was excellent, everyone felt looked after from the moment we arrived which for a party of 10 this isn't always easy. Thank-you to all the staff and a special mention to Gemma and Cerys
L. A.
Wow, it's a very nice and elegant hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. It's very neat, tidy and clean environment. From outside you will think it's a small hotel but from inside you will know its a massive hotel with lovely and modern decor.

What an amazing hotel. This was our first visit, but we will definitely be returning. Every single member of staff was polite and friendly. We arrived early but were able to do the pre-check in process and store our luggage, leaving us free to explore and come back later, where we went to the bar and spent our free drink token. These were given to us when we first arrived to spend during our stay. This is such a lovely touch, along with the complimentary snacks and soft drinks in the room. The hotel is so close to everything. We could walk to Soho, Covent Garden, China Town, Oxford Street and Carnaby Street.
C. B.
Excellent hotel right in the heart of London. Staff excellent, only down side was the evening menu and quality, pub grub with hotel prices . But a great hotel enjoyed our stay
N. H.
Such a beautiful and hidden gem of a place. Amazing surroundings and food in the restaurant to match. We’ll definitely be regulars
M. H.
The Clermont Hotel is a beautiful ornate, well maintained hotel, central to London, the staff are fabulous and helpful, the food was lovely. Most amenities are on the doorstep including Charing Cross Station, Trafalgar Square, the National gallery and theatres galore. I will definitely be returning.

We've been to the Clermont several times when it was the Amba. We do love it. We were on a special deal for 4nights but nonetheless had a lovely accessible room, which was huge! We only had 1problem. I think our room was over the bar&the noise was horrendous. On the 3rd night, I eventually rang [email protected]&asked if there was any they could mute the music a bit. The receptionist said he couldn't hear any noise but could he come up to our room to ascertain where the noise was coming from!?! I said no! Dead on midnite the noise stopped. At 6AM we were rudely awoken with music! Again I rang reception. He was puzzled to as where there was any loud music, as all they have is piped music during the day—&could he come to our room to ascertain where it was coming from?!? I "politely" said no-again! We ended up getting up over an hr earlier than anticipated. When we went down to breakfast, our waitress said I looked tired, was I OK? (I must've looked bad!) Wen I explained about the 2 experiences, she said that the management would be very surprised to as how many people complain about the music, never mind turning it down, turn it OFF.
The waiters&waitresses were brilliant!!!! Especially at breakfast (I won't give her name in case she gets into trouble for telling things) & evening meals, Konrad& Renata. The food was excellant, as were the3 waiting staff. We will go back as I'm these we're only minor blips, we just didn't need them 6hrs apart!
I. P.
Fantastic service & awesome hotel. It was unfortunate the bar was not open due to construction works taking place (due to open approx. 26th Aug) however, this still did not dampen the outstanding service given nor the vibrance of this beautiful building. Located perfectly for both public travel & sightseeing.
M. R.
Really nice bottomless brunch.
Big portions. Burger and fish and chips highly recommended.
Hotel is gorgeous.
Staff friendly and attentive.

R. R. W. U.
Wonderful stay. Spacious room, best location, staff are kind and breakfast are good.
M. A.
Spent one night here with our son, a very nice place. Lovely staff, very welcoming staff and exquisitely maintained building internally with wonderful decoration. Nice breakfast even in covid times too. Really big rooms, even with the sofa bed expanded there was loads of room. The mini bar was complimentary which is a nice touch as well. Surprisingly quiet during the day and overnight when overlooking the front of Charing Cross station and being effectively above it as well
A. G.
We stayed here in Spring Bank Holiday and had a wonderful time, the hotel is beautiful with wide staircases and an almost art deco feel to the communal spaces. The bedroom itself is large with a great bathroom and we had views out the front onto Nelsons Column and the Post Office Tower in the distance. Couple this with very helpful and attentive staff and you cant go wrong if you stay here - we'll be back!
M. R.

Hidden gem one of my favourite friendly Hotels 🤗
G. T.
Had a great stay here for 3 nights in July with my partner & 9 year old. Staff were great and breakfast was good. Great location for exploring London
M. R.
We had not originally booked at this hotel but were given ‘The Clermont’, Charing Cross as an alternative when, for whatever reason, our original booking was altered.
All I can say is ‘Thank you’! This was a great hotel choice for us. Super convenient location for all forms of transport - though quiet.
We received a warm greeting from staff at all times, fabulous comfy beds and accommodation, lovely touches - such as books in the room giving details of interesting London walks and other quirky facts about the Capital. The Clermont token given to us on our arrival was such an unexpected gesture which could be exchanged for a free drink in the temporary bar (whilst the actual bar was being refurbished).
All-in-all a London gem which now found we will return to.
S. A.
Lovely Hotel clean tidy very helpful staff ideal location in london for for theatrws and main attractions

Wow!! Perfect location for Central London. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were amazing. The room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. Such a lovely touch was the complimentary mini bar and snacks along with a welcome drink of your choice inthe hotel bar. Thank you to all the staff, I will definitely be back!
R. A.
Lovely centrally located hotel. Stone throw away from many Central London tourist attractions. Spacious and high standard clean rooms.
G. H.
Very central with easy access routes. Waited a bit long for breakfast on the first day however the check in and out procedure was efficient. The rooms are great for a short stay of 1 to 3 evenings.
M. F.
Great hotel very friendly great food and rooms.

Spotlessly clean.

Happy to return. Central to all we want to visit. Very pleasant staff. Beautiful building. Taxis out front. Just what we need for a visit to London.
E. D.
Wow. This was a nice surprise. So clean and well thought out.
There was an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer, a safe. Really nice coffee machine plus kettle and high quality teabags. There was also mini bar with complimentary water, coke, diet coke, cartons of milk (for the tea), crisps, popcorn, a packet of biscuits and fuzzy sweets.
We were given a a token each for the bar which entitled us to a free drink each. We both had the Clermont cocktail which was divine.
Breakfast was served at table and was pretty good. A cooked breakfast was offered or yoghurt with granola and berries. Plus we had a basket of pastries. Noticing we hadn't eaten much of our cooked breakfast we were offered more pasties.
It seems to cater well for families too.
All in all a great find.
G. J.
All very good the stuff was really friendly and good comfortable bed .
Very clean bedroom and shower room
And breakfast was ok
C. D.
Great service, ambience but obviously hotel prices

We were relocated to the Clermont for an over night stay in London, so glad we were, we can not recommend the Clermont highly enough.
The staff are most welcoming and helpful, the hotel is spotless and very impressive, the rooms were excellent and the food delicious.
Thank you, 5* 10/10
J. D.
Comfortable, clean, great looking hotel - location is perfect for visiting London, with pretty much every major sightseeing within walking distance including theatre land (Shaftesbury Avenue). Definitely recommend.
J. P.
Think this place has changed hands. Staff not so welcoming at reception as previously but service in restaurant was ok!
R. D.
Excellent hotel and staff, stayed second time and location is absolutely brilliant, would definitely come back, many thanks for such a pleasant stay with kids
G. S.
Lovely hotel. Polite, helpful staff. We'll be booking this one again.
J. C.
Beautiful hotel. We had afternoon tea here for my mum's birthday. Staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Sandwiches and cakes were so nice as well as the tea and glass of fizz we had. Toilets were very clean and looked nice too. Would definitely go again.
M. M.
Lovely hotel and very pleasant staff. Excellent value for money
M. B.
I attended a conference here and was very impressed. I cannot speak for the quality of accommodation, as I didn't stay the night here, but the staff and facilities were lovely. I really enjoyed the two days I spent here though. I'd happily return again.
The first thing that struck me was the beauty and elegance of the building. Pleasant lighting and very tasteful decor. The staff were very courteous, helpful and took a great deal of pride in their service. The lifts, hallways and toilets were very clean. Upon speaking to guests, they all seemed very happy with the hotel too.
Overall, a lovely building with professional staff. An ideal location for large conferences, and I'm guessing a nice central place to stay too.
Thank You, Amba Hotel.
M. S.
Superb location. The staff were fantastic, particular thanks to William. A staff shortage made breakfast challenging but the tetem handeled the situation with such professionalism and courtesy. We will definitely be back again
G. D.
I was just having a conversation with my brother on great hotels in London. I've stayed at the Amba twice now in the last year and have to say, it is a wonderful hotel. The staff is superb and lovely and very helpful. The rooms are clean and the location is amazing. I will always stay there when I return to London.
R. f.
Good food and friendly service. Tables well spaced apart.
P. S.
Amazing stay, the staff were super helpful throughout, lovely clean rooms with free minibar, and the location is perfect to explore central London. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.
M. H.
Lovely old building refurbished while keeping some of the original features
R. J.
Had a fantastic evening here tonight. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and helpful.
As I'm coeliac I'm always a little nervous when I eat out but the staff were brilliant. We had a 3 course set menu and there were gluten free options for each course. My starter came with gluten free bread.
The ambience was really lovely throughout the whole hotel as the Christmas decorations were still up.

Great hotel and fantastic location. Staff friendly and helpful and service at a high level. Highly recommended

Great location for the West End and friendly staff. Not a bad job done on renovation but the underlying age of the building often shows through. Quite noisy at times and grotty shower needs cleaning better. Breakfast was ok but some items cold/stale. Overall don't regret booking it as very convenient for our night out, but won't be rushing back.

This is a very convenient venue for London's West End. The hotel is in need of some refurbishment especially some of the seating in the Restaurant. This was not as I expected, very uncomfortable. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. The room was comfortable but the shower room was in need of some updating. A very good help your self breakfast with many choices.
T. E.
Nicely refurbished four star. Well located with a nice bar.

Excellent. The service from the moment I walked through door to the minute I left was superb. Left a long lasting positive impression. The staff were so helpful, keen to assist in any way and went out of their way to understand any needs and to get things just right. The rooms were very well furnished, well resourced, superb bathrooms, easy to get comfortable in. The location is excellent, easy to get to, lots in London within a short walking distance and a tube train and mainline station underneath you. The breakfast was well done. The bar is oh so good! I look forward to having an opportunity to going again. The other really good thing about this hotel is the ambience, the decor and the proud history of the building that is evident around the corridors and the manner in which everything is cared for.

Such a nice hotel. From concierge to room service it was a beautiful stay. The full English is delightful and the room spotless
G. D.
Had a fantastic Bottomless Brunch here for my birthday food and service where excellent
L. R.
I loved everything about this hotel. The location was excellent, within walking distance of everything. The room was large enough that we didn't feel crowded and had a great view of the London Eye. The staff were wonderful. When they found out it was my birthday, they surprised me with a lovely (and delicious) dessert tray.

When we arrived at the hotel room we were greeted by a massive water leak pouring down from upstairs. Apparently someone took a shower and the drain system was broken. The night manager was really nice and genuinely concerned about the matter and got us another room. After some time waiting we got to the new room and he offered free room service for the night as complementary. Otherwise the location is great!
M. W.
Last week I had a Christmas theme afternoon tea with my family in the The Terrace of the hotel. We loved the experience. The cakes were super cute and our waiter called Antonio really friendly and professional. The decoration of the hotel was stunning.

We had a good time. Great location in Downtown London. However we had to be moved because our room smelled like mildew. The men that helped move us were very nice and helpful. We went to two other rooms before finding one without issues. We loved our first room but it smelled so bad. The second room was just so so.

Stayed for 2 nights with my wife and 11 year old daughter in late April. The room was much larger than we expected and extremely well appointed. It was just beautiful and we loved our stay and wished it was longer. The location was fantastic, we walked everywhere from there. the breakfast room was lovely, staff friendly and accommodating and food was very good. the ambience of the whole hotel was serene relaxing and beautiful. Dream of returning one day.
B.
It’s a good hotel and has lots of stuff near it. Overall just a great place
M. W.
Stayed here while visiting London for pleasure. This is really a fantastic hotel. The location is within a 1-2 min walk to both the Charing Cross and Embankment underground stations. The location allows such quick access to so many must-see places. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The amenities were fantastic overall. For such a great place you can expect a high price. It was very worth it in my opinion. I highly recommend the Amba hotel.
M. V.
We loved our stay at this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The included minibar is a nice extra. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you with all your questions. The breakfast is very good. We also did an afternoon tea at the hotel and we enjoyed this too.
S. W.
We booked afternoon tea for 4 people. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and the building is stunning. I gave 4 stars as we told the staff about one of us having a nut allergy and when the afternoon tea was presented the cakes included Macaroons made with almond and a chocolate cake that had nuts. The sad thing was the staff didn't really get the severity of an allergy or how important it is to make sure everything is nut free. For anyone without an allergy....go. Anyone with an allergy CHECK !!!!
M. C.
Superb location - the hotels main point of difference. We come here each year for work and stay on the Club level for 12 days. The breakfast is lovely - I'd recommend having it in the Club room as opposed to main restaurant if you have the opportunity. They'll make you anything on the menu. Also a buffet. The staff in the club room are lovely and remember your name. The staff on the door are also really attentive. Tidy rooms, great views and cleaned whenever you like. Look forward to the next time.
A. N.
Great stay- convenient to transport, theaters, restaurants, and the heart of London. The staff were so attentive that when I had a cancel a part of my stay due to a medical issue my wife experienced, they wrote us a thoughtful note that they placed in the room when I checked in, and they left some cookies as a warm gesture. That's a personal touch you won't get at most hotels, and neither I nor my wife will soon forget it. Thanks!
C.
This is such the best hotel in London. It is well located and the rooms are pretty nice. Also the stuff is so polite and friendly. Niels is the best concierge of any you can think of. It was such a comfortable stay and even though there are a lot of rooms it has a familiar atmosphere. I would highly recommend to stay at this hotel. Also the breakfast is very good!
J. H.
The hotel was clean, well run with friendly, helpful staff. We ate at the terrace restaurant on Friday night, but only one other couple were eating at 8pm. Food wad ok, but I expected much more. Bar was nice and our Executive King room was big enough. Online photos make it look huge. Nothing wrong here, just not outstanding in any way.
A. K.
We got in late and they were there to let us in and get us situated in our room quickly. The night manager first offered Waters and explained there were also complementary snacks and drinks in rooms. The whole place was super nice! We could see the Thames from our room. The rooms were clean and bedding was very tidy and neat. All extra beds were set up and ready for us, all 4 of us were comfortable immediately. The bathroom facilities were modern and we'll taken care of. The multiple water/shower sources were nice. Switching from the overhead rain style to the wand easily made getting ready in the morning quick and relaxing. The location was the main reason we selected this hotel, we would do it again for many reasons now! Hospitality, service, appearance and etc...
P. W.
Beautiful hotel can't fault it in anyway what so ever. Would recommend to everyone
J. I.
Nice spot for an afternoon tea. Friendly, attentive staff and a well decorated restaurant with a nice ambience for this sort of thing. The food and teas were good too. A couple of the desserts were a little too inventive at the cost of balanced flavour mixes but we appreciated the presentation. The view isn't anything special but there isn't much the hotel can do about that.
S. B.
Went there with a Groupon voucher for an afternoon tea and really enjoyed the experience!
The hotel it's very nice, good selection of teas to choose. The afternoon tea was good and their scones are really good.
Sandwiches were normal... cakes were too sweet for my taste. I would have loved to be able to change my cakes and get 1 extra scone!
j. b.
Really nice up market bar. Great place to meet friends, right next to Charing cross station
J. L.
Had lunch here before and went again for dinner. Staff was helpful and friendly. Good food and served quickly. Lovely atmosphere and setting. Bathroom clean. Good location near theatres, shops and is above train station. No complaints.
T. C.
We went there for a lovely afternoon tea. The location and view of the city is breath taking. We used a Groupon and mentioned it when we made our reservation. Both my husband and I chose a type of tea and both of the teas were nice and hot. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were fresh and very tasty. We were glad that we went on an empty stomach because the portions are big and you leave with a full belly!
L. W.
I stayed here with my family in October 2019. The whole experience was complicated due to Amba getting our room reservations wrong.
We had two reservations for super king beds, but ended up with 1 super king and 1 english king. Thankfully the hotel sorted this on the second night, but our first night was uncomfortable as a result.
Skip breakfast. It's not worth it and the two times we had it the buffet was constantly out of food.
The bathrooms were pretty sub par. It looks as though the tile has been patched a few times, our shower leaked, and it wasnt as clean as it should have been(found hair in the shower when we first arrived).
I've given the hotel 3 stars because the location is central, the staff was great, and there are certainly worse places to stay in London... but there are also a lot better.
J. M.
My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights over Christmas. We had a great time. The hotel was centrally located, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were very friendly/helpful. We enjoyed room service and were happy to see the reasonable prices. The rooms were a bit small, but I'm sure this is to be expected in London. Our only real issue was the noise coming from the street. Between the traffic and people congregating outside the hotel, it was extremely hard to sleep through the night. Other than that, it was perfect.
N. T.
A very nice hotel adjacent to Charing Cross Station on the Strand. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are very nice, clean and spacious. Big TV, free minibar with soft drinks, chocolate and crisps. Bathroom is large, a full bath and large shower with rain head. The bar on 1st floor is spacious, made up of three rooms, live music with piano, and a bar with comprehensive selection of beers and spirits.
J. B.
Old fashioned elegance and afternoon tea, served, as it probably was in the 50s. Beautiful sweeping staircases and attentive staff add to the decadence of the luxurious feel. Nothing is too much trouble and their aim is to satisfy.
Toilets reflect the ambience but are beautifully clean and maintained.
I didn't stay in one of the guest rooms, but if the public area is anything to go by, then I would say, I'd highly recommend it as a place to stay when travelling to, and staying in, the West end of London.
r. m.
Wonderful hotel, the rooms are top quality. Staff is amazing and helpful
R. M.
Superb hotel. Fabulous service and genuinely friendly and helpful staff. Good sized rooms with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great location for Trafalgar Square and theatres. Highly recommended.
E. S.
We spent eight nights at the Amba Hotel and were treated to an absolutely wonderful stay. The entire staff was so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast served in the Blue Boar every morning was wonderful and provided a lot of variety.
J. C.
Great location and fantastic rooms. Really enjoyed our short stay.
C. J.
An awesome hotel, located really central at Charing Cross station, close to the National Gallery and Trafalgar Square. Niels is the loveliest concierge I've ever met; such a heartwarming and caring person, instantly I fell in love. The room was small but clean with modern furniture. Tea, coffee and a mini bar with softdrinks and snacks was provided without charge. The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was nice. I would stay there again.
T. K.
Overall a nice hotel. Location is very good, people very nice and helpful, comfortable bed, clean, quite a lot free extras (eggs and coffee at breakfast, mini bar, espresso in the room, wifi, gym). Defect: Room is small and I could hear the steps from above floor. Room was quiet apart from that.
H. O. (.
I went here about a year ago for a week’s vacation. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about London. The room was nice, although mine was facing The Strand, so it was quiet loud. Breakfast was superb and the lounge in the afternoon had snacks. Overall, a fantastic experience!
C. V.
Great location...minutes from train station. Great neighborhood to walk around. Friendly helpful staff, especially Diana, Roxanna and Isabelle. Hotel staff really care about your stay and comfort. Good resources for ideas about what to do, places to see and eat. Great amentities! Would highly recommend!
R. H.
I've never stayed in such an amazing hotel . The staff are excellent ,from the moment we walked through the door we were treated to an excellent experience. The staff were very friendly and approachable. They had knowledge of the local area and attractions. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean . They provide tea, coffee, juice, biscuits, crisps and cans of coke in a bar in the room , all complimentary. The in room meal we had was excellent , a tasty club sandwich and chips , best I ever had. The hotels location is ideal for tourists , right next to Charing cross station , I ate my breakfast under the watchful eye of Nelson on his column . The breakfast in the hotels restaurant was very good . Tasty and a huge variety of cereals, cooked meats, fruit etc. I cannot fault the hotel in any way , if I could give them additional stars I would . I highly recommend it .

Wow! We've been recreational travellers for quite a while, and we're accustomed to lowering expectations (I recently wrote here about our Toronto experience). This is our third visit to this hotel, and if anything, it is improving with age! We have a much larger (wheelchair) room than most here, so our opinion is somewhat influenced, but London hotel rooms are famously compact. We are delighted to be here; the comfy bed, good food, super staff... not to mention the brilliant location, close to everything. As my dad used to say "i can't think of a thing to be mad at!"
J. O.
Lovely hotel and restaurant. Staff are very friendly
F. L.
My husband surprised me with a 2 night stay here for my 30th this weekend....wow! What can I say.....amazing! Should be 5 star! Upon arrival we were greeted with a very pleasant warm welcome and to our surprise we were upgraded to the top suite as it was a special occasion....it was superb! Free mini bar...topped up both days....lovely big bed...sofa...bath robes/slippers...a lovely touch of a I pad for your room which was brilliant to plan our way round London for the weekend. Very clean and tidy in both room and.
Breakfast was lovely...very easy and straight forward...morning staff very attentive.
We treated ourselves to afternoon tea which normally you have to book but after several hours shopping....they squeezed us in which was very good and it was yummy!
The staff were outstanding...at every opportunity they would have a warm welcome/hello and nothing was a problem.
We will definitely be returning here.
Thank you to all the staff at Amba Hotel Charing Cross for making by birthday weekend extra special.
J. B.
Very nice 4* hotel in the center ot London - Charing Cross.
Great place to stay for touring the city - almost evrything is in walking distance.
Nice and big comfortable room with giant bed and shower.
Excellent full breakfast with everything you can think of. Tasty dinner too.
Service - all the staff were excellent and super-friendly.
Nice free minibar and executive lounge - worth the more expensive rooms.
As a professional tour-guide - an excellent choice if the price fits your budget.
M. G.
Love loved the afternoon here, lovely hotel, friendly staff. I had the prosecco afternoon tea option and it was awesome, usually I don't finish all the bits whenever I go to these but I found myself devouring everything with ease! Not to say there was not enough bits as there was but it was sooo delicious!
Most definitely recommend this deal as it was worth it, the Christmas decor at the hotel at the moment is also very beautiful and festive so also makes you not want to leave.
果.
My husband and I went to this hotel for afternoon tea, we were greeted by very attentive staff at the reception then at the restaurant. The hotel is very old and beautiful having kept a lot of its original features. We sat in the enclosed terrace with view of the Strand, really lovely and relaxing. The cocktail was very nice and there was a good choice of teas.We enjoyed the food as it was freshly prepared and tasty. The staff was very professional and not intrusive. We really enjoyed the experience and would like to go back.
J. S.
The hotel is inviting and calm but was very empty, with no visible staff on the front desk. I didn't see any staff until we got into the bar. The waitress was not particularly welcoming and didn't seem very engaged. Drinks were nice and came with nuts, as would be expected it was quite expensive but then all London hotel bars are. For somewhere quiet and comfortable to have a drink in central London it's perfect.
A. F.
We only stayed for one night but the room was fantastic. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and had under floor heating, and the room as a whole was impeccably clean and modern.
The hotel building is fantastically grand, and the staff were very friendly. We did not try the breakfast as we made use of the generous 12:00 check out time and had a long sleep in. I will be staying here again in the future.
C. H.
The hotel is in a great location, has attentive staff, a fabulous breakfast, my room even had a complementary mini bar however there were a number of issues.
1) a double room was booked and I was provided with two twin beds poorly pushed together (RM 528).
2) conversation and noises could be heard via the AC conduit from other rooms.
3) the table lamp in the lounge seating area had a drinks stain on it and the table was marked.
4) wardrobe doors were damaged and struggled to close (had too otherwise lights were on)
5) when booking I asked for extra towels, these weren't provided.
These are all collective things which individually wouldn't have warranted mention however they were all discovered late at night.
Reception staff failed to qualify howy stay was at check out.
R. P.
Stayed here right after Easter weekend a few years back with my wife on a business trip to London. Great spot to see sites on the river, easy access to the Tube, local dining, and other items. Simple rooms with good business / conference rooms for meetings.
m. W.
Lovely hotel, great location, near Trafalgar square and Covent garden. Large and comfortable rooms, very comfortable beds. kind and welcoming staff, and lovely breakfast. we loved it!!
It was our second time and we will definitely come back.

Afternoon Tea at Amba Hotel in The Terrace. Lovely.
Very pretty hotel. Welcoming reception staff as well as those in The Terrace restaurant. Well spaced tables mean you don't have to yell to be heard & it's still cosy. Nice view too.
Our food selection was well catered because I had 3 vegetarians in the group as well as 1 who doesn't eat cucumbers. Seamless service & we didn't get rushed out either.
We'll defo come back! Thanks to the entire staff at The Terrace for making us feel so welcome.
D. M. (.
The service at this hotel was fantastic. The staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The suites are not the largest but the location can’t be beat.
The free wifi with no password was a great bonus that often goes overlooked at other hotels.
The only negative side of the hotel is that the area where the hotel is located (Charing Cross) can be a little sketchy and noisy at night; not enough so that I would avoid the hotel though. I would definitely return in the future.
Thanks for the great stay!
R. M.
Lovely little bar to stop in before catching the train
M. K.
Lovely hotel , very clean . Staff very friendly and helpful
J. R.
Lovely hotel. cannot find fault. Highly recommended.
B. H.
Great location, made to feel very welcome by staff. Deluxe double room was quite small, but clean and with a few mini bar items - soft drinks, chocolate, water - included. Room service was prompt and the food was very well prepared and presented. Two criticisms: room was very warm, but opening a window let in outside noise; and it took two calls to reception to replace the spoiled milk that was in the fridge (it was seriously skanky). Hardly the end of the world though. I'd happily stay there again.
T. L.
Upgraded our room free of charge, amazingly friendly and attentive staff with beautifully decorated hallways, rooms and immenties. Location is right beside two different tube stations making it very easy to get around. Lots of great restaurants or quick chains located close within short walk. Highly recommend!
S. B.
Great venue. Really friendly, well trained staff. Ideal location for all made attractions.
M. A.
Very nice hotel, staff are fantastic. Centrally located. As a service supplier loading is awful and convenient parking is non existent. The hotel is somewhat dated in some areas and could do with some refurbishment but would recommend overall.
R. G.
Pleasant stay.
Clean and reasonably spacious room.
Very nice staff.
Breakfast can be much improved.
There were no hand washing liquid in the bathroom.
M. R.
Modern rooms inside a classic landmark. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, the rain showers are a great way to start or end the day. The breakfast buffet has a delicious spread of well prepared standard choices accompanied by a short well thought out a'lecart menu. The dining room is above average with a satisfying list of dinner and room service choices. My go to resting place in central London.
T. C.
Absolutely stunning. Staying for a week on our honeymoon. The staff has been incredible, and we came back to the room with a bottle of champagne and dessert waiting for us. The room is spacious and comfortable. I don't think I will ever stay anywhere else in London ever again!
K. P.
My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel last night to celebrate his birthday as well as our recent engagement. When we arrived to check-in we told them we were going to collect the ring that day - they gave us a complimentary room upgrade to make the occasion extra special and when we got to the room in the afternoon we had truffles delivered as well as a hand written card from Justin at reception wishing us a happy engagement and vouchers for champagne - Thank you very much for making our stay perfect. Breakfast was also great with lots to choose from and location couldn't have been better.
C. R.
The best birthday treats.
Excellent service from Ati in the bar.
Gautier the room service guy was very friendly and efficient.
The sea bass was great.
They serve my favourite wine THE WICKED LADY ROSE WINE. It was a fantastic treat
S. T. (.
Super experience! I booked a night in a studio suite as part of a surprise 50th birthday treat for my wife. The room was spacious, very comfortable and well furnished, but the best thing about our stay was how welcoming the Amba team was. From a warm welcome upon arrival to the very kind thought to deliver a birthday card and complimentary dessert to our room, they made us feel valued.
The concierge team was on the ball when my wife lost a silver bracelet. Sadly it hasn't been recovered yet (and probably won't be), but the concierge took the initiative and called the restaurant and theatre we had visited as well as checking it hadn't been found in the hotel public areas.
Finally, I have to say that I was impressed with the booking experience. I booked online on the Amba website (after checking prices elsewhere). It was super simple and I was able to select the specific room I wanted (based on photos) and request an early check-in.
My wife loved her special weekend and we would certainly return to this hotel. Thank you Amba Charing Cross!
A. R.
Just attending a training event, but the staff were very friendly and helpful and the desserts were some of the best I have ever experienced in the context of conference suite facilities. Nice clean toilets. Lovely carpet.
T. S.
Recently I've only visited the conference facilities which are excellent. The hotel is in a very good location and well maintained. Drinks and snack selection is better than many other conference providers. For those who need to rush off after event Charing Cross is next door.
J. R.
Greatest hostel we've ever been. The nicest people we've met. The localisation is perfect. The room is perfect. The minibar is free. The place is very beautiful. If I could give 6 stars, I would without hesitation. If we ever go back to London, THIS is the hostel we'd go, for sure! You really feel like home, and it was so sad to leave it!
D. S.
This hotel is just around the corner from Charing Cross Station. Literally. Once you get out of the station it's on your right. Apart from having exotic rooms in central London , it has wonderful conference rooms. Very cozy and warm in winter. I attended a seminar here. It's a bit of a busy hotel
T. M.
Well situated next to charing cross station and 2 min walk to embankment station, 5 min walk to trafalgar square, theatre, covent garden market, perfect location for city trip. Breakfast was good but limited choice, a complimentary well …
C. C.
This is one of the most perfect locations for a first time visit to London. Walking distance to Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Museums and Theatres, Denmark street if you loveusic and vintage instruments, right on the Underground, literally it's above it. And there are a tonne of restaurants, pubs and bars open late right in the area. The hotel itself is nice, the staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and well maintained for an older building. Would definitely stay here again.
H. N.
There’s a nearby ChangeGroup near Coventry Street. Beware that ChangeGroup is a scam that charges exorbitant service fee, preying on tourists.
Amba Hotel - staffs are amazingly polite and helpful. The place is kept pretty clean. Room is not extremely big, but decent enough. Comes with free mini bar. My family loves the biscuits provided.
Could have done better:
1. My fridge is spoiled. Wonder why this wasn’t checked or reported by previous guests.
2. Could have warned tourist about scamming money exchange that is so abundant in London. Keeping quiet about common scams on tourists doesn’t appear good. I mean if you witness a crime, would you keep quiet or warned others about it?
D. F.
I've been to the lounge a few times and tea and coffee is close to the price of most high street brassieres. But with added friendly bar waiting service and maybe a couple of biscuits or pot of mixed nuts. It's like a hidden little gem. Seating is very comfortable and relaxing, tables spacious and there's an overall lovely ambience. I love this place will recommend it :).
L. G.
Beautiful hotel, lovely staff and central location
M. D.
I attended the Amba hotel for a conference. The staff were courteous. The food was delicious. The space was beautiful and well maintained. Xmas decorations were up at the time. They were very beautiful and put me in the holiday spirit.
K. H.
Great location, walking distance to everything you'd like to see. Staff was very friendly and we're able to make accomodations for my wife and me. They replaced everything in the mini bar each day free of charge. Price was reasonable as well with very comfortable room.
A. C.
Nice rooms but pillows are a tad uncomfortable. We are here for new years and stayed in a junior suite. Views of beautiful buildings in the area, free mini bar, nespresso machine, big TV. Excellent service from staff and the executive lounge breakfast was top notch. Centrally located right across the Thames River and London Eye. Easy access to underground right outside hotel. Tesco express a block down. Overall a perfect place to stay for new years eve.
E. M.
Great service and the room was great. The food serviced for breakfast was really tasty as well. I definitely enjoyed staying here! Wish I could go back.
D. W.
First class establishment, located on the same site as the station.
K. P.
Lovely but pricey Sunday breakfast in a wonderful room. It's a great place to treat yourself but if your budget is tight there are many cafes nearby that will serve a cheap breakfast
L. G.
An amazing hotel in the middle of everything. Beds were comfy, breakfast was excellent, staff were professional and friendly. I would definitely return. WiFi was a little sketchy and dropped out pretty often. But overall a great hotel for the cost.
L. M.
Beautiful building, perfect location. Friendly and helpful staff.
R. R.
Absolutely perfect place! The room was big (in comparing to an average room at other hotels in London). The staff were charming and welcoming!
Perfect location right on the Charing Cross underground station
C. S.
Awesome hotel centrally located. The staff is attentive. The rooms are clean. The bartenders make some great cocktails. This is a great place to stay in London!
a. p.
Standard London hotel, nice but very expensive. Breakfast was a bit mediocre but quite a bit of choice. Room was clean and well dressed. Surprising there was very little noise which was a bonus. Staff very friendly and helpful.
M. M.
Participated in two days seminars in the hotel. Location is great. Historic building. AV a bit old, F&B ....
We where with the World Food Travel Association in their board and annual meeting
N. N.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Spacious and modern. Perfect location too. No negatives at all, without a doubt the best hotel I've ever stayed at. One of the best hotels in London!
R. F.
Very well maintained hotel. The rooms are clean and updated. The location is about as good as you can get for London. The Charring Cross and Embankment underground stations are steps away. The Covenant Gardens and Leicester Square underground stops are about .2 miles away. The London Eye is a 10 minute walk and Trafalgar Square is less than a 10 minute walk. Very easy to get from Heathrow aitport to the Amba Hotel using the underground with luggage.
The lounge is extremely well run. It is open from 7am to 7pm for hotel guests. The food and drinks in the lounge are included in the room rate. The mini bar in the room is also included and restocked daily.
This is an excellent hotel to stay at when visiting London. The staff is very helpful with directions and ideas.
Diana, who oversees the lounge, is excellent. Her attention to detail and friendliness definitely sets the Amba Hotel Charring Cross apart from other hotels. You will not be disappointed if you stay at the Amba Hotel Charring Cross.
J. P.
Great location for a central london informal meeting. Nice staff directed me up to The Terrace where we had seating. Room to talk and space for a laptop on the table. Nice coffee and all within arms reach of the station. Very good tip for meeting location.
A. D. M.
Take me back!!! My husband and I ended our whirlwind honeymoon with a stay here, and we absolutely didn't want to leave! The concierge downstairs is phenomenal, the service was flawless, and they made our stay remarkable. This hotel is incredibly close to several different Underground lines, as well as a 15 minute walk to Buckingham Palace, and only 5 from the Thames. We will recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to London, and we hope to be back sooner than later!!
I. T.
Staff were superb, very polite, professional and helpful. Hotel is immaculately clean and the rooms are very well equipped. Would definitely return.
刘.
Recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel and could not be happier. From the professional booking in procedure from the polite and friendly Sara to the complimentary late check out this hotel for first class. Upon arrival Sara greeted us with a smile and a welcome, congratulating us on our celebratory visit. We were upgraded complimentary to...
C. K. M.
A splendid stay in a comfortable hotel with friendly and attentive staff. Not exactly cheap - but worth the money. Excellent location on The Strand and Charing Cross railway station - which you cannot hear. Bar and restaurant with views over The Strand allow you to have a leasurely breakfast whilst smuggly watching others scurry of to work.
M. T.
Best hotel if you're planning to visit London. You're right next to 2 train stations which makes the commute easy. Not to mention it has a bus stop right outside the hotel. Easy access to everything!
They have the best rooms as well and the staff is very accommodating, love everything about this place.
K. F.
I was truly impressed with this hotel. I wasn't expecting much as I booked through trip advisor at a discounted rate. But we were truly impressed. The staff was super friendly from the moment we walked in. They walked us up to our room which was a pretty impressive size for the heart of London... Great location! Comfortable double bed, nice bathroom with quality bath products, complementary mini bar with hot chocolate and biscuits, a nespresso machine, comfy robes and slippers, a tablet to use for internet, and they handed us umbrellas just incase the weather turned. Lovely restaurant for breakfast. We would most definitely repeat our visit.
S. K.
Good hotel in fabulous central London location. Recommended.
P. S.
Welcoming and pleasant. I was there for an event and they were a bit short on bell boy trolleys so was very fortunate I had a mini trolley of my own or would have been very difficult. A very nice hotel and excellent location for central London, joined to Charring Cross station.
C. G. O.
The executive rooms were fanatic, excellent view and spacious room area. The staff service was excellent and attention to detail was unbelievable. The bar team in the executive lounge looked after us from the moment we arrived

Great hotel. Great location. Really comfortable. Helpful staff.
M. L.
Fantastic very helpful lovely rooms great breakfast
C. B.
Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly staff who go out of their way to delight. Rooms are comfortable and well kept, and the complimentary snack bar in the room has been a surprisingly nice comfort after a long day of walking. I'm staying for a week on my first trip to London, and it's been a great decision.
Centrally located for all the tourist stops, very close to both Charing Cross and Embankment Tube stops, walking distance to Covent Garden, SoHo, and the Thames.
P.
Absolutely love the views from this place, especially those looking down towards Trafalgar Square. I've only been here for drinks, so cannot comment on the food there, but the interior was very nice. Had a kind of old grand hotel about it. It'd be a good place for tourists who fancy going somewhere a little quieter to escape the mania of Trafalgar Square itself.
C. A.
Nice Hotel friendly staff
K. C.
Best hotel in London. Worth the price. Beds are extremely comfortable. Excellent central location. 2 min walk from Trafalgar Square. Next door to Charing Cross tube station. Taxi rank outside
t. h.
I love this hotel. Staff are incredibly polite and food is lovely (business meetings). Building, if your not in too much of a hurry, has bags of history. Hotel is on the doorstep of both train, tube and covent garden.
H. G.
loved it. great location, nice personnel, very nice room, free mini bar!!! the breakfast wad OK but not jaw dropping but that doesn't matter. the location id just fantastic, walking distance from many major sites.
J. B.
Went for afternoon tea, it was absolutely delicious and because we couldn't eat everything the lovely waitress gave us a box to take our scones and cakes home. They were eaten on the train journey home. We will definitely visit again.
G. R.
Really friendly staff who are always helpful, lovely rooms, very nice breakfast and we really enjoyed the cocktails in the bar. The location is perfect for Covent Garden and the theatre's, plus you can jump on a bus to see the rest of London with ease.
T.
Was here for business (seminar) and was extremely impressed with the hotel and staff. They met every single need we had and even went above and beyond our expectations. The hotel us beautiful and conveniently located.
J. P.
Went for afternoon tea which was nice, although the service seemed a little slow and they took ages to come round to see how we were after serving us our food. Would have liked a top up on tea, but it was very late when they asked and just added hot water. Also the noise from the Fawlty Towers experience in the next room made it a less than relaxing afternoon. A very nice looking hotel though and I want to come back and check out the Fawlty Towers dinner.
P. P.
By the time we reached town, we were not in the temper to drive any more. Therefore, we took the first rooms we could catch in the center of town. We wanted 2 separate rooms, and that was a bit pricy. However, the welcoming man was very cooperative and caring. Mary in specific was so enjoyable! The hotel has 9 rooms above the restaurant and a townhouse attached to the hotel and restaurant.
D. H.
The hotel provided a comfortable stay. Well located. The front rooms recieve a lot of street noise. Breakfast is not value for money. This was a buffet style self-service breakfast and the hotel charged a 12.5% service charge on an already expensive breakfast.
E. G.
Had to go to London for work and found Amba a great hotel for your business needs. Fast and reliable internet (no password needed), complimentary mini bar (helps a lot when you arrive late and don't feel like ordering in-room service!), and above all, a great location. Literally besides the train station and 2 min walk from Trafalgar Sq, 8 min walk from Soho.
P. F.
Went for a work conference. Service was good, food and beverages were great and plentiful. The room we were in was okay for our purpose, really only lacking on the technical side (projector was not great, lacking enough power connectors). All in all, a place we would most likely use again, as the service was pretty good and location is great.
J. T.
Stunning hotel! Great service, friendly, facilities were fab! Free mini bar, free breakfast in bed and late check out. Great stay in London, very central too!
S. J.
Great location for seeing different shows with easy access to underground and train services. Received a upgraded room for free and polite staff who are always happy to help. Can't fault and is the best hotel I've stayed in so far
S. S.
The 'executive' room was a bit of a let down and felt quite dated/tired. There were several little things that needed fixing throughout the room, which was quite a disappointment. The complementary mini bar was nice to have (although no alcohol was included, which was originally stated on the website when we booked, but appears to have changed since?!) and there was also a kettle with tea, hot chocolate and biscuits, and a Nespresso coffee machine with 4 pods. The executive rooms gain you access to the amba lounge which serves free breakfast along with drinks and snacks throughout the day which was nice however, I wouldn't book this room just for that as if you are out exploring most of the day like we were, you don't get much use of it (as it closes at 7pm!) (A special mention must go to Fabie in the amba lounge as she was lovely!) All in all we were pretty disappointed and didn't feel that the rooms were of a 4 star standard.
F. L.
Great service and nice employees. Issues (if any) were quickly resolved. The breakfast was quite good as well. As for location, it's really close to the inderground, which is a big plus in my book. The WiFi is usually pretty fast. I did however experience slowdown once or twice. Overall, I dont have any noteworthy complaints and really enjoyed my stay here.
F. I.
I visited the Amba Hotel as part of a business trip and what I can guarantee anyone is awe.
The building may not look like anything spectacular but the size of it is really shown when you enter the heart.
The food I was served here was fantastic and the views of the interior were grand and very classy. The staff working here treat you with a great deal of respect and politeness which is exactly what you look for when visiting such a location.
M. C.
This hotel is located in the middle of London. Very close to river thames, on the opposite side of London Eye. The rooms are mostly surrounded by other buildings giving no views from the rooms. The staff is good and the breakfast is just adequate but a small restaurant area.
S. C.
Recently stayed here for a night and found the rooms to be nice and clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast was good too. All in all, a good experience. Will definitely return.
S. P.
The best London location bar none. Sitting at Charing Cross station, this hotel has everything you need for your stay in London. Because it is right beside Charing Cross you have easy access to places anywhere in London and beyond. Obviously given it's location this venue is walking distance to many great locations in the heart of the city.
The rooms are great and the beds are wonderful to sleep in. Wifi is strong and the water in the shower hot.
Staff are friendly and serve your needs as required.
Good variety of foods for breakfast too.
Without a doubt - select this venue as your base for your next trip to London.
Insider tip : Embankment station is a 1 minute walk away and provides for additional lines within the underground network.
I. D.
What a great hotel. Very keenly priced for such a good location, lovely staff, nice rooms and great decor throughout. Really smart bar area too. Great value overall. Recommended.
J. H.
Perfect place to relax. I'm having a good time here at Charing Cross Hotel. I really wanted to stay here longer but I have my work days on it. Well as what I'm saying,is that this place is so beautiful. I like quality of this hotel. Very attractive and pleasant looking. The facilities are good. And the services was so fantastic. I like their staffs it's so easy to please and very helpful. So nice!
A. N.
This Hotel is simply beautiful and so clean! I needed to print some documents for a visa appointment and the staff there were just excellent! That really made my day seeing as I was already frustrated from having a typical London day. Thanks guys cheers
T. L.
Lovely hotel at which we always enjoy our stay. Staff very helpful and the rooms nice with those extra touches that other hotels do not do. Highly recommended.
I. R.
Very nice hotel, good location, the room and the public area were cleaned. The breakfast was nice but less.
The service in the reception was great. Thank you
B. T.
Great location and faultless service. Smart and clean, with great facilities and nice touches such as the nespresso machine and iPad in the room, but don't get too excited as it's largely wasted because it only provides access to hotel facilities and internet search or maps.
The only reason it falls short of a top rating is the inflated price that befalls all such London venues. Rooms and storage tend to be smaller than expected for deluxe king sized room, I've paid less for a huge suite with inclusive room service and beautiful location.
J. P.
This restaurant is great. Have been there a couple times, and was always pleased with the food and the prices. The only downside is, that it happened already twice that they forgot my wine order, but nothing too serious. Can recommend it
p. r.
Attended an afternoon tea event. Everything was superb, nice views and the hotel is way too impressive. Luckily for us it wasn't an expensive event (you might be able to find discounts on internet). Very friendly staff.
O. S.
A nice 6 night stay at Amba. Very central location and pleasant staff. Room was nice with a big shower and a (slightly finneckey) Nespresso machine in the room.
The sheets were stained and not washed after 4 days, but after complaining the staff was very apologetic and brought complimentary wine.
The breakfast is OK, good English but not much selection in other food.
R. U.
Great location, great customer service, good interior. However, small and extremely slow elevators. Sometimes guests have to wait because the elevator is used by the staff for their chores, which is not pleasant.
A. K.
Stayed there night before my wedding. I was upgraded to a beautiful executive room with free mini bar. On arrival I also was given free bubbly , chocolates and fruit. Best memories
v. s.
Amazing location right on top of the charring cross station. Trafalgar square is at a stone throw away. Good bars right down the corner. One of the better deals on the strand.
Helpful staff and always there to help with a smile.
E. M.
We spent our 5th year anniversary in Amba hotel back in February and it was an excellent pick!
Starting with the warm welcome in the reception, following with a specious room including a free minibar, Nespresso machine and a cattle for tea and continuing with a great breakfast.
The location is just perfect - close to the Charing cross underground and railroad station and just a short walk to the Embankment underground station. We also walked to many of the nearby sites- Trafalgar square, the Soho and St. Paul's cathedral.
We highly recommend the hotel and would probably get back to the same one on our next trip.
R. N.
Lovely room 1602 with all the facilities and well stocked minibar. Breakfast excellent plenty of choice. All the staff excellent nothing too much trouble. Our 6th visit will return
G. O.
Service was good however, the windows in my room was really dirty so couldn’t enjoy the view. There’s a lot of noise due to the hotel being right on top of the train station.
H. T.
Amazing stay, great staff, delicious breakfast and the beds were super comfy. Couldn't have asked for a better location, central and we'll worth the money.
A. P.
Good architecture, great food and facilities. Staff are very pleasant. Could do with better seats for training courses, considering you're sitting in them for up to 7 hours a day!
A. M.
A nice hotel right in the heart of London city. The views from the rooms are impressive and the location is right next to Trafalgar Square. The guests have easy access to London's shopping district like Oxford Street and bond Street while enjoying a quick stroll in the fashionable Soho. The price per night can be quite high.
C. H.
The venue was nice and quiet considering it is right next to Caring Cross Station. I enjoyed my meeting there. The only downside is the service was a bit slow. W had to ask for bills three times before we had it.
T. M.
Very nice service for staying hotel during these days, especially for the concerige staff whom is always friendly and helpful. Comfortable bedroom, good food for breakfast and dinner with beautiful view outside window.
E. W.
Great hotel for staying in central London! Location is perfect, complimentary mini bar is a great touch, service is impeccable. Rooms are a little small, but that's expected and they are a great value.
N. M.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Free mini bar and buffet breakfast us pretty good. Room was spacious and clean. Lounge is nice as well.
A. A.
Top location. Right next to Trafalgar Square & Charing Cross station. Warm welcome from staff, room is pleasant. Fridge in room with soft drinks and snacks is a nice touch. Bed was comfy and shower excellent.
N. M. A.
Absolutely beautiful place! I've been here three times for a Christmas party. The food is immaculate, the conference rooms are great and its in the best location for going home as it's right next door to charing cross station!
J. H.
Our stay with the Amba was pleasurable. The staff was kind and helpful. Yet, of all things to assist in choosing a hotel, is location. If you are planning on exploring London the Amba could be perfect for you. All forms of transportation, shopping, and entertainment are near. Step outside the hotel and you are placed into the hustle of London life. Is there Amba the best hotel, no, but it can be a gateway to the heart of London.
J.
Outstanding from staff tonight . We organised an event for our top airlines and they went extra mile
Allowing us to stay a bit longer . Well done. Acoustic was also great and attendees were happy with the space .
G. S.
Visited the hotel for the Fawlty Towers experience. Had the most fun with Cybil, Basil and Manuel! An outrageously funny couple of hours. Food served was 1970's fayre, don't expect anything else! Hotel staff very helpful.
M. P.
We stayed here in September under Vincenza Secor. This was an awesome hotel. We actually stayed at another hotel down the street and spent 5 days. We got to the Amba and spent another 5 days. There was just no comparison. Since I can't say enough good about it, I will tell you this, we loved it so much, we have booked another stay there just before Christmas. Thank you Amba for making our last stay so great and by the way, Please say hi to ROSIE!!! I HOPE SHE WILL BE THERE DURING CHRISTMAS! There aren't enough stars for ROSIE!!!
S. A.
Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. They went above and beyond for my parents anniversary and just always gave us great service 😊
J. C.
Location on the Strand is hard to beat for West end theatre visits that are mostly only a 15 minute walk away. Next to the Charing Cross & Embankment tube lines. Rooms are modern with very firm mattresses and newly renovated bathrooms.
N. W.
Excellent staff - very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Slightly cheaper than Prem Inn as well. And definitely the best staircase I've seen in a long time.
C. J.
Excellent service, beautiful hotel. Will definitely come again
J. C.
The Amba is an amazing hotel. The staff are very friendly and were eager to satisfy all of my needs. The front desk happily fulfilled each of my arrival requests and our studio suite was comfortable and serviced quickly each morning. Can't beat the location as it's an easy and inexpensive tube ride from Heathrow straight to the hotel's front door. West End theaters' are an easy walk away and Piccadilly, Trafalgar and Leicester Squares are just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Charing Cross and Embankment tube stations make getting anywhere around London very easy from this location. The Amba Charing Cross provides real value and has become our choice of stay while visiting London.
V. K.
Brilliant staff, lovely room ideal location. I was puzzled by the Harry potter style windows opposite
S. R.
Very nice hotel in good central location. Unfortunately the music throughout the hotel and in the bar and restaurant was not only unecessary but too loud and not in keeping with the splendid decor. Why not give silence a chance.
N. M.
Functional, not mybidea of holiday destination, more spacious rooms though. These guys were not the flexible bunch either, we wasted a good 2hours trying to book in some of our clients here.
M. O.
Went here for an all-day presentation so can't comment on the quality of the rooms or food. That being said, it's a beutiful hotel with a lovley decor and very clean toilets
J. H.
Great location. Room itself was very dated - marks on the wall, scruffy bathroom, no minibar.Reception staff were nice.
D. M.
I cannot say enough good things about the Amba. The hotel has undergone a fairly recent renovation so all of the facilities are top notch. As for the staff they are the friendliest and most helpful group I have ever had the pleasure of staying with. Always a smile and help no matter what sort of dumb question I asked. And you could not ask for a better location. Within a couple of miles of dozens of attractions such as the Tower of London, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace, and even more pubs and restaurants. Need to go further than you want to walk? The Charing Cross train station is in the same building, the Charing Cross Underground (the tube) is 20 steps away, and the local double decker bus stops in front of the hotel. Plus free WiFi, free snacks and drinks in the room mini fridge, and free champagne in the lobby every evening. What more could you want!
S. S.
A beautiful hotel right in the heart of London, will stay again
E. H.
I stayed at the Amba Hotel at Charing Cross for about 10 days on a busisness trip. I don't even know where to start....the location is great, walking distance to good attractions and shopping. The service at this place is hands down best I have ever had...complementary waters and champagne everyday we came back from work. Me and my team were always received with warm smiles, no matter what time of the day. The staff is extremely friendly, engaging, above all professional and always willing to go the extra mile.
Every morning we were welcomed at breakast with a smile...Patya and Agnes took care of us every morning, knew exactly what each one of us wanted for breakfast, we were about 4 people every morning...I was impressed.
I want to thank the #ambahotelcharingcross for providing such a lovely stay. I will come back and HIGHLY recommend anybody to stay here.
D. H.
Very welcoming, good hosts and found excellent meeting room on spur of the moment. Oddly confusing front door, however. You seem to have to attract somebody's attention inside in order to get in!
M. P.
Had a meal in the restaurant here and it was very good. Staff around the hotel are very polite and the hotel interior itself is breathtaking and beautiful.
M. S.
Extremely well run hotel. The hotel is clean, has great facilities, has a great staff, great food, etc. I look forward to returning to the property, hopefully next stay will be leisure travel with my wife
R. R.
Nice hotel, friendly staff
F. J. S.
I attended a wedding reception there. The location is great, right on top of Charing cross station. The ballroom is spacious but the view from it is not the best as it points into the station. Service is ok tho not amazing.
J. B.
Fabulous hotel and exceptional service and attentiveness is the focus of the staff who work in the hotel!! Would go back again! The food is outstanding and quality.
M. G.
Nice hotel with great location in the city.
The rooms are alright and even have European power supplies.
Free WiFi is everywhere available.
Would stay here for business purposes again.
P. O.
Brilliant hotel in every way
S. C.
Hotel is lovely. Very friendly and professional staff and great facilities. It was unfortunate that our room was very very noisy due to it overlooking The Strand. However, this would not stop us from staying here again, just not in the same room.
R. G.
Have stayed at the Amba hotel Charring cross a couple times. The hotel is great! The staff is always friendly and helpful. When I'm in London I will always stay there. My wife and I love the Amba hotel!
V. P.
I had a really nice afternoon tea with my work team of 8 in a nice area of this beautiful hotel located just next to Charing Cross station. We went early afternoon and noticed in the evenings they have live music daily.
R. D.
Great experience. The staff are most welcoming and attentive. Rooms nice but was a bit of a queue at breakfast at the weekend.
K. P.
Went to the hotel restaurant for afternoon tea. We had great sandwiches, scones, macarons and cake. There is a selection from more that 10 different teas to choose from and they are also offering coffew instead of tea.
G. A.
what a beautiful hotel. service excellent. staff polite. the afternoon tea is to die for. excellent Christmas present. will be going again 2019.
v. j.
Excellent hotel. Very clean rooms with great service and features. Location is great for most central london attractions and is 30 seconds walk to the underground.
L. B.
Great location, comfortable bed, able to plug in my laptop tv with HDMI easily with a wallpaper. Gym is tiny by good aircon and lots of icy cold water. Quite decent.
S. G.
Whilst looking for a centrally located hotel that did not cost an arm and a leg I came across the Charing Cross Hotel and booked for a nights stay whilst attending a conference and a ball at The Savoy. The front desk staff and concierge service was amazing, everyone was so very friendly, the room was more than I could have wanted and the breakfast was a delight. Seamless transaction, walk outside the front door and you are in the heart of London with Nelsons Column immediately in front of you and, of course, the train station next door to get you anywhere you need to go to!
D. M.
If you want to be in the middle of everything this is the place to stay. A couple of minutes to Trafalgar square, the London underground, Thames river and a few hundred pubs. A mile or so from Buckingham palace and parliament. And the staff here is great.
D. M.
Wonderful hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful
A.
Upstairs bar is quiet and relaxing. Prices excellent for central London so long as you dont stay overnight! £250+ for 1 night! No dogs allowed!
M. A.
I had a great lunch experience today with an amazing service from Isabel. if you ever stop by the restaurant, bar or breakfast definitely ask for Isabel she is amazing. Great service thank you all for the experience 🤗
J. B.
Had a light lunch at the bar following a business meeting. Service was impeccable and the food was excellent, arriving promptly and not costing any more than many pubs in the area. Would recommend.
J. C.
Such a great location. Easy access to both soho and the art galleries! The staff are also very friendly and the room is spacious.
P.
If you want a quiet drink on a Friday night when all the local pubs have standing room only try the bar on the 1st floor. You've only got to walk down the magnificent staircase and around the corner and you are on Charing Cross station, so no mad dash to get your train home
V. Y.
Was there on a conference day. The place looked tidy and well managed. Then I went for número uno and found somebody else's número dos, run out in fear, it was huge, what sort of human can fabricate that & why not flush it! Don't worry I didn't take photos...
G. F.
Great location, nice room. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Great concierge Mr. Niel. You made our trip around UK a bit more relaxing. Thank you.
M. L.
One of the best locations in London. The standard rooms are cosy but a bit small. Everything in the mini-bar complimentary. The breakfast is essential but good.
a. k.
The location is super , on the chairing cross station , two tube and one railway next to the hotel. Amba hotel chairing cross is quite comfortable and good rooms . standard double are bit compact. staff is good , it is bit expensive may be due to location. Shopping , food , bars , Trafalgar square, covent garden all are just few step away
D. C.
Super friendly staff. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, very good breakfast, central location to so many attractions! I'd stay here again!
B. K.
Great hotel! Great service, clean, excellent location. I will definitely book it again the next time I'm in London.
C. W.
It is a nice hotel to stay with and the location is very convenient and easy to go for shopping as well. I have been there a couple of times and I still love to go there again as staff is always very kind and friendly.
P. K.
I really admire this hotel so much! I wanna come back here soon if I have my long weekend day off. I'm so happy to be here when I have my meeting in here. I like the place and service they have. Awesome!
H. K.
Went for a meeting. Food provided was ok, noise leaking from room next door. Staff also prepared food in the room while a guest was doing a talk, making a lot of noise
C. L. i. t. U.
This is the most desirable location for accommodation,in the middle of city, location was totally wonderful, especially for visitors, it was close to shops, restaurants, and almost everything. I was here for attending an event, it was a nice experience.
S. L. C.
Clean, upscale hotel located steps from Trafalgar Square. The morning buffet and afternoon tea service is wonderful! Highly recommend this hotel; will return!
K. S.
Pleasant staff. Ambient surroundings. Had drinks and snacks in terrace bar. Good place for informal work meeting for small numbers.
J. B.
Great place to stay. Tasty interior, very friendly staff and a perfect location for a city trip. Highly recommended!
T. W.
I stay at this hotel sometimes when my wife and I are having a very late night function in Central London. This hotel is by Trafalgar Square so you cannot get more convenient than that if you want to stay in the West End after a party and don't want to go home. And yes you've guessed right my wife loves it too.
P. M.
A very beautiful hotel that I've ever since here in london.I'm addict of staying in the hotels cause this the way i comfort myself.I highly recommend this hotel. The services was good.Facilities are thumbs up! The quality of this hotel is awesome.
R. S.
Excellent hotel with very friendly staff. Rooms high quality and lovely breakfast. Great location will be back.
N. N.
A calm, atmospheric hidden gem right next to Charing cross station. Lovely decor, polite/friendly staff, and the bars/restaurant are pleasant for coffee, snacks or alcoholic beverages after shopping or touristing on a cold Saturday afternoon.
M. l.
Lovely hotel went for my mums 40th birthday for afternoon tea which was lovely. The teas were nicly made and the cakes/ scones were delicious.
J. H.
Went for a training session. Lovely surroundings (ridiculously opulent, really) and very friendly staff. Knocking a star off as the room was a bit too warm, but otherwise it was great.
T. M.
Simply great! Excelente location and stunning room. Also the breakfast was superb! Highly recommend
D. M.
I went to the hotel to see a fashion show, during Fashion Week. The location is very accessible, close to the station. The hotel room, for the event, was really nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
S. S.
You will be astonished in this very glamorous place. Before you enter the place, you can see how marvelous the lounge area. And the receptionists are well educated, they know how to carry their customers and they make it comfortable that you are in the safe place.
L. M.
Good, quiet, clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Just need black pudding at breakfast to be perfect!!!
B. M.
Splendid Sunday tea-time entertainment with A Right Royale Tea event at the Amba Hotel Charing Cross.
Each Sunday at 2:30.
Book your place and you'll be delighted.
f. g.
the charing cross hoptel is wonderful and decadent without having to spend the money. it is close to all amenities and is situated right next to the station. the 'rooms are luxurious & the hotel staff are extremal friendly and 'helpful. the bar prices are quite e expensive as the only down side. over all i would recommend it to anyone.
C. M.
Fantastic high tea, pently of sandwiches and cakes etc... That were very nice! Staff were great and very friendly. Can't complain in any way!!
N. L.
The best place to be away from home
Great location, beautiful hotel and the staff is absolutely fantastic. So kind and always with an sincere smile.
T. S.
Went for dinner with a group. Service was a bit slow. The food was pricey, mediocre and generally not very exciting. The only exception was the lamb rump, which was surprisingly excellent.
V. L.
Delightful hotel. I attended for an event and was impressed by how well it has been refurbished. There was an issue with the temporary cloakroom after the event, which seemed very disorganised and manned by very disorganised staff.
N. W.
Lovely hotel. Great location above Charing Cross station. Would definitely stay again. Great breakfast. Ideal for theatre breaks.
A. P.
Junior suite was a bit small considering the promise as was the breakfast selection but all in all good location and friendly staff. Beautiful for taking pictures
J. T.
Group on deal was for afternoon tea and it was great! I felt pretty full and there plenty left. The staff were lovely too!
C. M.
A great gem.. A un-pretentious door from outside Charing Cross leads to a really plush hotel.. Coffee/Bars on the first floor.. So don't be put off by the lack of amenities on the ground floor.
J. P.
We went here for a high tea. The building is very nice, the food was good, I was thinking that it would be more to eat based on the cost, the tea selection was very good. Would recommend.
M. H.
We went for afternoon tea. Absolutely amazing. Staff can't do enough for you. Very welcoming and friendly. Wonderful place.
d. m.
Wonderful location. First time here and had no problem getting around. Everyone very nice. Great experience. Would definitely recommend.
M. G.
Very happy that we chose the Amba Hotel for visiting London. The location is perfect. The hotel service is excellent, the room is well equipped, clean and modern.
J. C.
I would like to commend a lovely young lady called Martina from Italy who was working in the bar today (Wednesday)
Martina was extremely helpful and looked after us in the bar
The bar was ever so busy but she copes well under the strain
I hope she sees this review because she deserves to be praised
Bravo to Martina xx
M. B.
Luxury hotel with popular restaurant on first floor: up market a la carte menu and a more than adequate table d'hote menu. No faults at all with service or accommodation.
E. S.
The decor was bright and cheerful, they have a nice job with it! I love this hotel so much its really relaxing and comfortable.
L. P.
It is nice to go back here. And I love also the way they decorated the function area, it is very fresh and it create a very good feeling. They have a food that is great also. I want to ga back here, but I don’t know when it will happen again.
J. A.
Lovely restaurant as part of Amba Hotel
Just outside Charing Cross in a very central location
Fast service, nice food and lovely view of the city.
Afternoon Tea at Amba Hotel was also a lovely experience
F. O.
Amba hotel is right in front of Charing cross station, which is very useful for travel. Also close to embankment station. The employees are quite friendly and nice. This is a good training location as well.
K. N.
Spend last night at Amba Hotel, had an absolutely fantastic time and our room was upgraded for free, staff were friendly and informative and the hotel was in an ideal spot. Definitely will stay again
J. H.
Location is convenient and drinks before dinner was a welcomed surprise. Loved our stay!
I. C.
The hotel and staff are wonderful! You also cannot beat the location in central London near Trafalgar Square. Will definitely stay here next time I'm in London!
Y. G.
Attended a couple of meetings there. The pace is extremely spotless clean. Very well furnished and cheerful friendly stuff. Above charing cross station and quiet central to everything in London.
L. R.
One of the better hotels we have stayed in worldwide. Most efficient and friendly staff. Can freely recommend.
J. G.
Attended a conference of maybe 150 people, hosted in the Ballroom with break-outs in adjacent rooms and lunch. A spectacular setting, mixing wonderful old rooms with technology to create an incredible venue
T. R.
Great location in central London. Had a work event at the hotel and everything was excellent. Food was well done and venue was clean and comfortable.
P. G.
Came here for a wedding. The bar, ceremony and catering was all fantastic. The location is very accessible and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Superb hotel let down by average breakfast
M. D.
Really comfortable stay at Amba Charing Cross. Great location for West End theatres and restaurants, but quiet and comfortable. Excellent attentive staff and good breakfast. Thank you.

Right Iin the heart of the most visited city in Europe. Trafalgar Square is right there! Essy access to the tubes. Be prepared, though. This city like New York, never sleeps

Nice cosy room . Can be noisy if staying on a Friday and they have parties down stairs but a great hotel in the centre

Just now spending the first night of three here...Are the authorities aware of the ferel youths running amok at the rear of the night...on John Adam Street.. Junction or near. Has been going on off and on all night...stopped now at 05 00 hrs
This activity is really spoiling this hotel...cant believe it is in the centre of our capital...

I visit the Amba frequently for coffee/drinks with clients. Pleasant professional sevice and atmosphere, and tables are far enough apart to assure discretion for customers. Highly recommend it.

Amba hotel was a great choice. It is close to many places visitors want to go in London and the concierge service is very helpful for tourists.

Nice afternoon tea, I would go on Groupon for a deal, the waitress a bit sloppy, maybe a hard shift the day/ night before but the quality of the food exquisite.

The hotel is located right in the heart of London and is beautifully presented. I popped in for a drink with a friend and must say the service was fantastic. I will be back.

Front desk staff were so warm and helpful. Can't fault anything at this hotel. Everything was spotless

Central location right on top of a metro station. Clean, well kept but can be very noisy at night from garbage pick up and people outside Mcdonalds until around 11-12midnight vas staying on the second level in the Buckingham wing.

Very much so so. Rooms are a bit old. They forgot to bring towels to our room! Drunk people passed out on the entrance every night and morning.

Had an awesome stay at this hotel,so clean and the view is great. Front desk service is so nice and polite, convenient location right at the center of the city, underground station beneath .

Surprisingly good venue for programming training. The internet was surprisingly good considering the number of developers using the wifi, though they lose a star for not properly securing the network with encryption.

Location is outstanding, next to charring cross tube station & Trafalgar Square. V good staff, good service, a touch of royal class with wide carpeted staircase, large passages.

Very good location in the heart of London. Rooms are nice, especially the bathroom. Some of the windows don't shut all the way.

I was at the Amba for a business meeting, and it was perfect. The location, decor and service were top notch, and for the cost of a coffee it is a great place to bring clients.
