I live nearby and was very impressed. Fresh new deco, great food and Abbey, our server, was lovely, knowledgeable and always smiling. A pint of beer is quite expensive.. Overall though, very happy. I will certainly be back. Thank you Furzedown, thank you Abbey!

Nipped in to see the re-opened pub for a quiet pint. The decor is much improved, the Guinness was better and the staff were friendly, but I still don't like the pub or the space. Although it's my local, I'll not be back in a hurry

Loved how they have revamped the interior and exterior but also retained many of original features. Plenty of seating and table space. Also there are areas for hire for special events. I believe they are renovating the basement for private parties. Hopefully more info on the renovations will be available in the near future. There is a professional chef at the Furzedown and prepared a lovely meal. Very enjoyable indeed. There is court yard with substantial seating and shading areas. Very well built and are very comfortable. The bar had a very modern layout and was very well stocked. Staff were pleasant and professional during my visit. Very enjoyable experience.

We've been looking forward to the Furzedown reopening, and we're really happy it has and look forward to supporting it. A few teething issues but that's to be expected. Am having to mark this review 3 stars (3.5 would be better if it were an option) mostly because of the process of being asked to tip when ordering and paying at the bar. It's awkward and off-putting. We're not in America and even if we were they would never ask to be tipped. I understand having it as an option for table service but when you're just at the bar paying for a pint that's already almost £6 it feels a bit much. I hope this changes as personally I find it a barrier and it will stop me from becoming a repeat customer. That said the staff were friendly and I really hope it builds a nice local atmosphere. We're also looking forward to trying the food so will update/review again in a few weeks.

This pub has been transformed under new ownership (Sept 21). So happy to call this my local! The food is to die for, and the range of beers is excellent (I wouldn't say no to a bit more choice on the ale front though...!). Well worth a visit - it's nothing like the dump it used to be!!

Very happy that the Furzedown Pub is open! The local community is very happy to support the pub and very much look forward to coming back in a weekly basis. The staff is extremely helpful and have done their best to accommodate the high demand of customers wanting to enjoy a drink and food closer to home rather than having to go to Tooting, Balham or Streatham. There are some improvements to be made but I am hopeful that the team will pull it together. Keep up with the good work!

The Furzdown pub is finally open again. It's a great space including a big but cosy table in a booth with walls made from paperback books (perfect for the local book clubs or a secluded chat with friends), a big rear dining area which looks set up for private functions, lots of greenery in amongst the retro lights and so on. Having opened at short notice they have a few supply issues just now with some of the beers, and the beer garden doesn't look finished yet, but the staff's extra-welcoming attitude makes up for it. A truly great return to the recently smartened up crossroads!

Had lunch in this beautifully redecorated bar-restaurant, Art Déco style. The ambiance is cosy and classy at the same time. Sitting comfortably perched at the bar, we had a gorgeous Mediterranean platter with grilled halloumi, spicy olives, fresh salads, tasty grilled jerk chicken and warmed grilled bread slices. It was so perfectly delicious.The waiters Sébastien, Jero and Sara were so attentive to our needs, and so friendly. It was a real pleasure to then thank the chef who was just walking pass. We loved our lunch at The Furzedown and will definitely return soon. Can't wait for the warm weather to have lunch al fresco in the terrace at the back. A beautiful little place with fabulous people and gorgeous food!

Dirty pub, glasses are unclean, beer is flat more often than not, toilets are dirty, no ales, dark and dreary, music is usually awful and too loud, no atmosphere. Change in hands and investment is needed before it will be worth spending time here. Edit: this review was to do with the old ownership and it has now changed hands!

I visited this pub for my friends hen party. The bar staff were extremely nice and accommodating. The only problem I had was because it was in the function room downstairs I was extremely cold. Other than that I had a good overall experience. The drinks are reasonably priced. I recommend anyone to go here for the lovely customer service and the good prices drinks

However air conditioning unit didn't work! and while eating in the cool air of the garden at 9.40pm staff announces sorry the garden will be closed off at 10pm. Which they didn't inform the hirer's. Stayed here as it was the only place we could find last minute. Nice big rooms that were clean and tidy. Wi-Fi was an issue as it would have come in very useful but the connection didn't reach the floor we were on, I recommend getting another router. Also the lighting in the hall was poor, no light on in the hall outside our room until the last day and it was just a bit of the pain seeing and getting keys out and in the door. Staff were lovely and very accommodating, would have liked to try the food in the pub below but there was none as they were changing the menu so I hope it's good! :) finally if you are a light sleeper I think you should avoid any rooms along the road as it's really loud all night even with the windows closed, it didn't bother me but be aware if noise affects your sleep.

Spacious and warm with excellent drinks and food. Service is always on point. There is a dining section and exterior seating at the back which is secluded and a nice experience in the warmer months. I had the fish and chips previously - large portion. Slightly more expensive than the average price but the ambience is nice. Entrance is wheelchair accessible and staff are good in ensuring you are comfortable sitting where you are.

Used to be an old boxing training place where Duke Mackenzie used to train... they closed down after there had been a murder there but since they opened its quiet .. expensive on the drinks not worth going unless you want a quiet drink

Nice place to have some rest after a looo...ong day in London.Had a good nights sleep , nice bed and spacious bathroom . Not so quite in the daytime since it is by the main road . Didnt get a chance to try te pub but seemed a very popular place with good service. NB:Room we got didn't have ceiling fan or A/C hence if you are looking for either please be aware.
