What a fabulous place!!! Right from arriving at the front door, chatting to the lovely doormen, the warm welcome, the elaborate hall and the gorgeous dining room. Staff were perfect, there when you needed them without bothering us. Delicious food and tea. Everything was wonderful. We will visit again without a doubt. Thank you for a special day for my daughters baby shower.

My experience in the restored Lanes borough came in 2018. I was invited to dine with a British cousin & his lovely wife who were staying in the hotel for the first time since its glorious Regency themed renovation. The service, menu, food, furnishings & general ambiance were superb and the only thing we agreed was missing, was the original Regency art to go on those lovely walls. There were no Benjamin Wests, Thomas Lawrence's nor George Romney's to be found & so finding a Gainsborough or Reynolds was out of the question. In short, for the purported costs associated with the hotels restoration, we thought some of these Regency artists works could have landed there for the difference of a fraction.
This is not a knock on the hotels designers & ownership, its more of a suggestion for an upgrade because The Savoy Hotel have no Old Masters from the Regency period on their walls either & they are located in the theatre district where many of the Regency artists I just named, painted the stars of the various stages that virtually surround that hotel today.
There was no point in sending this message during the COVID nightmare but now that we are breaking free, I do hope The Lanes borough will take a moment to impress their guests with a little more authenticity on the walls from the Regency period itself.
Cheers

We visited just before christmas for the festive afternoon tea. The decor for christmas was beautiful, even better with the live choir singing christmas songs whilst we ate. The food was really nice, drinks were delicious. Service was great, the staff were very attentive. You get refills of sandwiches, they ask you constantly if you like refills of drinks or replenished food.

A lovely scenic hotel. Great for lunch and dinner functions with a great bar/Lounge for evening drinks or tea. Fine dining. No booking was done in advance- but I would recommend it entirely. Very lovely staff. Entirely new bar staff- with new bar drinks menu. Beautiful - quiet- intimate spot.

Without a doubt this has to be one of the best hotel in London. Go there for the breakfast and dinner forget to enjoy a great cigar there as well as you end the day.

Today my friend and I enjoyed afternoon tea in the Céleste room. It was wonderful. Akan’s service was outstanding, he was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. Akan made our joint birthday so memorable with his attentiveness and charm. Coupled with the delicious sandwiches, cakes and tea 10/10.

Absolutely perfect. Sat in the Garden cigar lounge as a group of 4. Enjoyed Partagas and Punch cigars from a huge selection of Cuban cigars both post and pre Castro. Lovely drinks and the gentlemen working the lounge were excellent. Knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. Ambience was spot on. An enjoyable few hours.

We had a wonderful time at the Withdrawing Room. I absolutely loved Andre’s service. 10/10. So sweet and outgoing. Definitely coming back!

Perfect location opposite Hyde park . The library bar is so relaxed perfect for a cheeky cocktail or light lunch - their club sandwich & chicken wraps are delicious. Andre was so attentive as are all the staff . Lucky to live around the corner 🙏🏽♥️

Everything is 5 star + interior, very friendly and attentive staff, food. Visit Michelin star restaurant Celeste and Library bar. No need to talk long - unparalleled 360 degrees experience.

Now I possibly have some idea what royalty are treated like. Service at The Lanesborough is exceptional, as is the hotels decor and amenities. Special mention about George at reception and Michael the bartender, who are both impeccably professional and genuinely friendly.
We had some delicious cocktails pre and post dinner, a luxurious room, and a sumptuous breakfast, but for me personally the highlight of the stay was repeated saunas, cold showers, ice scrubs and swims post a workout in one of the best equipped hotel gyms over ever seen (why didn't I take a pic of the gym?!). The repeated hot/cold treatments had a very noticeable and incredibly pleasant effect on my brain chemistry :)
Luckily before we left we also got to meet Lilibet, the resident cat who is also incredibly friendly and relaxed like the rest of the staff ;)
K. Y.
It's amazing experience. Rooms and designs are maintained excellent. Butlers are well manners.

Was there today for light dinner, it was a really nice relaxing place...the food was amazing and the service was amazing too... Specially Mr Andrea :)

Cozy and intimate Library Bar that served wonderful cocktails, had a Gin Star Martini! Bit pricey but you pay for the ambience and location.

This Hotel and staff are lovely but marred by experience at afternoon tea
I booked afternoon tea for myself and my wife who is coeliac .We arrived and were seated at a small table .The staff delivered our gluten and nongluten teas understandably on 2 separate stands which together with our plates, teapot cups etc meant we could just about see each other over the stands. We did move them to one side ourselves but was still cramped
I did raise this with the Hotel to be informed 'space was challenging' and if returned would give us a bigger table!Unacceptable for a 5 star Hotel charging £78 a tea especially when we have not had this issue with other London hotels such as Claridges,The Goring and The Savoy
Very disappointing and expected better
M.
had tea and coffee at the library bar it was great all thanks to andre he was wonderful and definetly made our evening pleasant! all thanks to him and his amazing service i will be back soon :)
K. M.
Had afternoon tea here. One of the best. Top quality food. You can request halal food in advance. Top notch customer service. Had the best time ever.
L. C.
A must do for an afternoon tea fan, even if this isn’t your normal cup of tea, you’ll have a great time. Amazing staff and a beautiful atmosphere.
B. M.
They have a restaurant and bar . Loved both . If you are there for business meetings ideally don’t go to the bar as the music is a bit too loud . Loved the pizza at the bar
M. E.
Great service, great staff and most of all excellent food; every course a delight. A beautiful venue - highly recommended.
J. S.
Delicious food and wine. The waiters were attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely visit again.

Went there for tea had a fantastic time . The staff were wonderful couldn't do enough for us. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful place for lunch, staff are so polite and welcoming. My family loved their Xmas display.
C. S.
Absolutely amazing, beautiful food and our server was worth his weight in gold, Akan - you made our trip perfect!
L. D.
Excellent location and service! Friendly staff offering you great memories. Beautiful from all points of view!

We love performing at The Lanesborough. All the staff is really friendly and they take care of every single detail.

I went to the Lanesborough yesterday to celebrate my birthday with my best friend and our 13-year old daughters. We had the Cruella afternoon tea. Everything about it was incredible from the surroundings, service, and detail in the tea menu, sandwiches and cakes etc. They were literally some of the most delicious treats I have ever tasted in my whole 44 years !! Absolutely sublime! There was no snootiness whatsoever - the staff were so friendly - and we felt like royalty (despite us being a little uncouth and taking lots of pictures !) Thank you so much for a fabulous time! We will remember it forever x
L. R.
Tasty food, service could have been a little more attentive.. Good beer. Interesting clientèle. 🍻
J. B.
Immaculate, no place could offer better or more attentive service but with no intrusion. Truly 5 star.
C. S. C.
Friendly, though weren't happy with the cheap glassware? They said, when questioned that it was not a new thing. With us it was! Still a great venue to meet or stay overnight, but they must maintain quality apparel??
J. C.
As soon as Covid19 allows, I am taking my boys here for tea or a meal. To show them where their maman was born 50+ years ago when it was still St George’s hospital. The hotel looks fantastique ! 🇫🇷🇬🇧
R. A.
Where do I start? First of all, the staff friendliness. Start from the entrance. Concierge. Receptionist. Let’s move to the withdrawal library room. They accommodated my pregnant wife and catered the menu to suit her dietary requirements to the detail. We were served by Martha and the management team was excellent - special words for Michael he made the experience wonderful (30th birthday) - their flexibility and understanding to the customer is perfect.
Move to the spa. We booked a spa day and again all was catered for the required tastes and needs. Special mention to therapist Alexandra, Nick, Frederico, Guilia, Jessy and all the team it’s not fair I have forgotten to mention 2 more ladies.
Finally, the decor and hygiene of the place was to die for. Unlike chain hotels where they all look the same, we were dazzled by their arts, paintings, warm chandelier, etc.
It felt like there was no COVID yet all safety measures were taken.
It felt like a novelty watching people of calibre and stature walking in and being toured. They were as wowed as we were and most importantly, cleanliness was at a premium and their food presentation and taste was divine and magnificent.
I have already made a new booking with them and I am considering spa and gym membership it feels very exclusive. Highly recommended.
This was not a paid review this is from a genuine couple
Ray and Pierra thanks so much Lanesborough Hotel !!! See you soon!

Simply the best in London, my personal favorite, great service, friendly staff, superb food all in regency splendour. 10 out of 10.

Really nice place to visit as a treat, not cheap but to be expected for London.
M. A.
Ahhh the most beautiful and delicious afternoon tea! Loved the pretty themes that get switched up by seasons...excited to return to try out dinner and who knows a stay over?! Lovely decor abd surroundings with support if a great service
K. K.
Went for an afternoon tea , the theme was Cruella , throughly enjoyed the cakes and sandwiches. Overall an amazing time.
J. R.
I stayed here a few years back . Loved the service and overall room quality Calibre. A genuine 5 star experience .
A. G.
We went for an afternoon tea. Everything was magic and perfect. Luxury, elegant and at the same time cosy atmosphere. All coupled with excellent food and service. The girl who took care of us, Marta, made everything wonderful. She has been wonderful!
T. B.
Staff were fabulous in particular the Doorman, Thank you for being a gentleman, thoughtful & kind. Afternoon tea was generous & delightful.

Andre was wonderful, came here for coffee and tea and our experience was great
L. S.
Came for the Cruella Afternoon Tea and had a wonderful time. Service was excellent, the tea blends were gorgeous and the food was exquisite!
A. T.
Always welcoming and great cocktails and nibbles. It's a great place to celebrate special occasions in fantastic surroundings. Strikes the right balance between formal and relaxed.
E. L.
Excellent service, efficient and friendly staff. Delicious food.
C. G.
A game of two halves, nice starters. But the pork belly main was tough with flabby skin, real disappointment. Wouldn't go back.
P. E.
Incredibly gorgeous hotel with fantastic staff and an adorable resident cat! We had the cruella afternoon tea which was delicious and overall a great experience
A. L.
I often come here for tea, it is such a beautiful place with pleasant service.
L. O.
Absolutely superb from the moment we entered the hotel! We had a lovely afternoon tea. Staff were very polite and attentive. The pianist played 'happy birthday' whilst my friend received a small birthday cake. We'll definitely visit again!
E. O. G.
Had tea in their Withdrawing Room. Service is excellent. Ambience is beautiful and relaxing. But for the price? The Darjeeling tea was stale. Those five finger sandwiches were £20 and honestly not all that flavorful/tasty. They could do much better.
S. C.
Lovely place for afternoon tea. £49 for one. The experience was classic with a elegant room. Maybe this is very American of me, but they offered water and was charged £6 pretty bottle and didn't realize that, so was thrown off guard at the bill. Staff was very attentive and saw were they were happy to snap a photo of your party.
I. S.
We shot here and the staff and environment was a great experience. Friendly and warm. I do love this venue and hope to be here again in the future.
L. F.
How the other half live and now I've joined them. Real service and genuine friendly staff. Great food and tea. Top pastry chef.
A. F.
Attentive service, impressive decor, lovely ambience with wonderful live pianist. Delicious afternoon tea.
E. G.
want to go on a date or a high end private business meeting, this place has it by far, its cosy, private, upper class and very great prices and the service is what you would expect at a 5 star hotel bar!
they have great nuts with salted by its finest ingredients!
the olives and a sharp drink, plus you can order bite size food.
its a classic place for me! Try it
L. C. P.
If you are getting married in the capital there is no better place to feel like royalty than getting ready in this fantastic hotel. Truly iconic London!
R. P.
Fabulous staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Beautifully decorated throughout. Would definitely revisit. Well worth the expense. Afternoon tea was really good. Bar was very comfortable and relaxing. Our room was ultra clean and comfortable.
D. P.
Fantastic Pedro was fantastic and looked after us sooo well x
N. B.
Booked a Champagne Afternoon Tea for two there just before Christmas for our wedding breakfast. As soon as my new bride and I stepped in they couldn't do enough for us! Thank you to the manageress and all the well wishing staff for their compliments and making our day even more special x
N. J.
We visited the Lanesbough for afternoon tea. The interior of the hotel is beautifully finished in a tasteful period decor, which looks very authentic. The staff were lovely and the excellent service couldn't be faulted. The tea itself was attractively presented and very appetising.

Stunning Hotel.
We had dinner in the superb restaurant, and it was absolutely top notch.
Everything from the service to the food and drink was first class.
Of course it’s expensive but what do you expect from 5 star London Hotel.
It certainly lives up to its high reputation. The decor is superb too.
I never ever forget the waiters delivery to our table with silver service.
Felt truly like a KING.
If you’ve got the money, then you won’t regret it.
E. A.
Always a special place to visit. Felt a bit touristy the last time I went there
D. C.
This has to be the best 5-star hotel in London. What makes this hotel so special is the staff.
The rooms are tradtional old-English design but with all the latest technology at the same time. Each room comes with a butler which was most useful.
I really didn't want to leave here. Dog friendly.
V.
We had the afternoon tea and it was superb! They have a large selection of tea and the staff are really welcoming and knowledgeable. The selection of sandwiches and sweet dishes were fresh & tasted wonderful. Highly recommended especially for a special occasion or for a weekend indulgence.
D. A.
I spent there one day and night - I think the best hotel experience in my life so far. From welcoming staff at the check-in to perfect services in spa. I can recommend for comfortable long stay or a day of luxurious rest. The restaurant Celeste serves delicious food, afternoon tea is absolutely perfect. Service is seamless and yet friendly. Try also The Library-their iconic bar known for Classic cocktails with a modern twist. All served in beautifully decorated place with pleasant ambiance & music. Their wellness club is perfect: high quality treatments, steam rooms and sauna as well as hydro pool and spa lounge make the stay the most comfortable and relaxing experience in the world.
V. U.
I think this place doesn’t need any reviews as it’s just perfect! Never been so welcomed by any other hotel. You can feel how much the owners do care about that place and how much effort they make to keep it to a such a high level! It feels like they are taking that personal (like if they are doing it for themselves). It’s spotless, the staff is highly professional and the most amazing thing is that they are dogs friendly! And I’m not talking about those small dogs they are friendly to any size dogs! Thanks for the prove that a great service still exists!
P. J.
One of London’s last truly five star hotels, if the grading scale was redefined then this would be six star.
The bedroom was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable and the service from all staff was exceptional.
Nothing is to much trouble and no excuses are made, whatever you want they can arrange.
D. Q.
This is the epitome of a proper afternoon tea. The wedgewood blue and crystal decor was most elegant. The staff was at its finest. The options were explained to us and special considerations were given for allergies. We were not hotel guests and we were treated with exceptional service. The food was delicious and additional servings were offered. The tea selections were plenty. This was the perfect follow up to a tour of Buckingham Palace.
H. J.
Without a doubt the best, most luxurious hotel I have ever stayed in. Our room was amazing, the bed was super comfy and the room was so so quiet. I took my 5 year old son and there was cookies waiting for him, along with little slippers and a dressing gown and a teddy bear. We had our own private butler as to which nothing was too much trouble. I stay in the best hotels all over the world and am a member of the leaders of the world hotels and sometimes staff can be a little pretentious or a little cold, absolutely not here, they are friendly, genuine and down to earth. The spa is beautiful as was the breakfast. Didn't have time to book a treatment but will next time. The whole stay was relaxing and exactly what is expected of a five star hotel. I would like to thank Lydia Hailemariam, Fiore Di Vita and Paul (didn't get his surname but works on the cloakroom) all for looking after us and just being such lovely people. This type of customer service is what is making us look to return next month. The location is absolutely spot on. My son absolutely loved it, he was fussed over at breakfast and felt very much at home. My mum also loved it and i believe she has already been back for drinks, he exact words were "I could have sat in the bar, chilling and reading a book all day" The decor is spot on and immaculately clean. Thank you, you are absolutely worth every penny. See you very soon.
L. C.
All I can say is wow...I went here for afternoon tea. I've been to many hotels for afternoon tea and I must say this is probably the best one I've been to. The whole experience from beginning to end was amazing. The sandwiches were fresh and tasty but it was the cakes and pastries that were outstanding. I highly recommend a visit.
T. C.
We went to the restaurant for a 3 course set menu, and the food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and very friendly service. Can't wait to go back again
J. B.
Beautiful place to dine. The food is exceptional and the service fantastic and not over fussy. Will definitely return.
M. S.
What can I say, this is a 5 star hotel with international, well trained employees. The service is the best I have experienced in London. The location is central, the concierge excellent, and the facilities are top notch. The spa is wonderful place to wind down after a day running around London.
C. K.
Absolutely the most amazing liquor store in the world.
I. K.
stayed there in 2016 in 315 . Beautiful room. Excellent service. Breakfast we ordered at 3am and they brought us huge table all fresh !! best!! everything we need it. -silver cups , spoons ;)
hotel is beautiful and most best place in London!
H. S.
Literally the best tea I've had in my life. The sandwiches, scones and treats were also both gorgeous and tasted great, especially the sandwiches. FLAWLESS performance from the staff, and the atmosphere with the piano music in the background was very calming.
Basically, if you want to feel like you've suddenly become royalty, book a table here for some afternoon tea.
D. C.
I visited here for afternoon tea with my Mum who was visiting from Australia. It was by far the best experience she and I have had in London - the service was impeccable, the tea and the margarita was fabulous and the food was delicious. I would not hesitate to return again.
T. M.
From an impeccable entrance and greeting through and into this luxury environment you will not be disappointed. Fortunate enough to be upgraded to a beautiful suite. Everything is taken care of so that you can just enjoy life. Location of the hotel is fantastic. The Price for traditional afternoon tea was £45 and £ 57 with champage.
L. L.
Four of us were on a mini break in London and were slightly worse for wear on a Sunday afternoon so decided Bloody Mary's would be the answer to everything. We didn't mind spending a bit of money on this drink to know we'd have the best tasting experience so looked up the best places to go and this hotel popped up... we were not disappointed! We double checked if there was a dress code to go to the library room inside the hotel and the door men were very welcoming even though we had rucksack and trainers/boots on and let us inside. We had a lovely lady called Danusia serve us our drinks alongside free snacks which she kept topping up and the Bloody Mary's filled that hangover hole an immense amount. We enjoyed the drinks and the experience so much that we even got another cocktail, four different ones this time and they were just as enjoyable as the first! If you'd be up for the best cocktails of your life at a slightly higher price than usual then I'd say go to this place and meet the lovely Danusia without a doubt!
T. C.
Divine afternoon tea at the Michelin-starred Celeste. Amazing place with a live pianist and Excellent staff. We tried the tasting menu with matching wine approx 1 year ago and what can I say...it was just top notch!! Highly recommend.
L. V. n.
I've had the best afternoon tea ever! Great service, like you would expect. We were allowed to stay until we finished, rather than when we ought to have finished.
The gluten free scones are marvellous!
T. M.
The location is so nice. We had drinks in the library bar before we dined at the Celeste restaurant and had the taster menu with wine. The Food: Obviously you go there for the food and you are in good hands. You have a dedicated waiter for your table and they look well after you.
T. E.
Afternoon tea at the Lansborough was not quite up to scratch. After an embarrassing and sustained champagne upsell the tone did not get much better.
Despite the amazing architecture and relaxed ambience my guests were critical of the sandwiches and the deserts and even the tea respectively. The staff although polite were not constantly attentive and nobody asked us if we enjoyed ourselves. I think we all left unable to communicate our disappointment. I overheard sombody say, "I regret paying the service charge".
a.
We have been for a Festive Afternoon tea at the Lanesborough, as part of our family tradition to go for it at the top London hotels every year before Christmas. However this year the Festive Afternoon Tea was neither English nor too festive, we were left disappointed by various aspects of the experience, which I will detail below:
- the biggest disappointment for us was the fact that the tea was from TEABAG !! I mean it was good (albeit from a very limited selection), but I don’t expect at this level of luxury to drink from a teabag that I can buy in any shop, that’s a no-no for me
- there are NO sandwiches – this is in the very fibre of the “afternoon tea” in England, without them its not a proper one. Instead there are a few “savouries” which to be honest are pretty bland and we were left unimpressed by them, to the point that we declined the offer to replenish
- The whole hotel doesn’t feel too festive and in the restaurant itself there is NO symbol of Christmas anywhere to be seen, we could have been any evening of the year. Yes, there are some festive songs played on the piano, but its done in-between other normal songs. It doesn’t make you feel you do it for Christmas
- the manicure of at least one of the waitresses could have been better, especially when you see this when they serve you.
- there is no “Christmas cake” or mince pie or anything traditional Christmas English
- you cannot replenish the sweets
There were positives, such as the fact that the sweets were absolutely delicious and that we got extra scones, but its not enough for such a highly-regarded hotel and for the price we paid to have the Festive Afternoon Tea experience, which is by far the worse of all the top London hotels we have tried so far.
We cannot recommend it, because we were left a bit deflated after all the hype of going to “The Lanesborough” and to be honest it wasn’t value for money at all. We would definitively not come back and I would advise anyone else to avoid it, unless its changed to what a traditional “Afternoon Tea” really represents.
R. W.
Wonderful afternoon tea and great service, really made to feel welcome
P. P.
Some friends took us to eat here as a wedding present. The food is good, but really the dining room is gorgeous, the service is world class, the wine list and sommeliers are excellent. Overall an amazing dining experience that must be one of the best in london
V. C.
You would generally not want to be found in a hotel bar, because it usually leaves much to be desired. Totally not the case with Library Bar. The bar was so cozy and refined and not too busy, even on a Saturday. Every table felt intimate and service was impeccable. Not to mention that there was a live piano player when we were there to maintain the ambiance. The drinks aren't cheap but there are plenty of places that have £15 cocktails that don't have the ambiance, service and free snacks that the Library Bar has.
L. H.
The spa is top! Excellent customer service and serene setting

Hidden gem. Located in Central London at the old king George's hospital. And very accessible From the tube station for wheel chair users as well
T. M.
From the arrival and assistance with luggage from the car to the check-in to the lavish room. The hotel does offer a truly luxurious experience with the exceptional staff that make you feel like a royalty. All the staff were attentive but not over the top. I would recommend it to everyone.
T. E.
A very refreshing experience at the Afternoon Tea
S. B.
Very nice bar and good service too. A range of interesting cocktail options, and a long must of rare spirits / wines. Snacks available too - the truffled nuts were a nice touch. Only downside is the price.
N. F.
What a beautiful afternoon tea with a twist! The Frida Kahlo theme was beautiful and very well presented! The food exceptional and the Margarita, one of the best I've ever had!
Mohamed and Dimitri were the best servers ..so welcoming and attentive and great to chat with them and learn of their backgrounds and love of London! We were visiting from Canada so it's always wonderful to learn of all the different cultures!!
Thank you so much! Was a high light of our trip!
C. P.
Exceptional service and experience. Had a mocktail we were made to feel like VIP's.

Attending a formal wedding function here was the highlight of my stay in London. I brought a special Scandinavian wedding cake & asked if I might drop it off that morning (and re-stack the layers separated for transport across the Atlantic), and was touched to hear from Amil (sp?) that he spoke to the chef who would be "honored" to take care of it all for me! Which they did and beautifully! Amil also ensured I received my packing bags back in their entirety, neatly folded. He and the entire staff made all in attendance feel as though we were royalty itself: White glove service, anticipating every need- whether actual, expressed, or divined, remembering who had what in which glass, none ever left to empty... Wonderful people who seemed like friends, and kept me updated on the surprise cake situation, including a private previewing! I was overjoyed at the work done on my behalf to make the reveal, and the entire transportation of it all on 2 planes, 3 trains, and a taxi- worth while! And to hear Amil was to be a first-time dad at any moment, he exuded joy in everything he did for others!! He certainly is a fine and exemplary representation of this wonderful, historic & elegant establishment! Three Cheers!
T. M.
From the moment I was ushered to the front desk the service was phenomenal. I started with onion soup which was a nicely done variant on the old classic and was made with an oxtail broth which had excellent flavour. The decor is very ornate and a little too ornate for me however I can't fault the whole experience and I would go back.
P. K.
Held a social event here, and it was excellent. The staff were incredibly helpful and the food was magnificent. The hotel is stunning and the facilities were well up to scratch. Would definitely recommend it as a high end venue.
E.
very late evening. we'd had a wonderful night so far. needed to end with one more drink to celebrate one friend going home to Oz and my son being over from France. bars closed. ritz closed. wolsey closed. asked the very nice chap on the door of the Lanes and had a very warm welcome. invited in to the bar. quickly ascertained we were not guests but were treated very, very well indeed. wonderful cocktails. superb service. all in all an absolutely wonderful place and one we shall continue to visit for a long time to come.
S. R.
Large luxury hotel, very spacious, comfortable rooms and exquisite decoration. Very attentive staff, quality in everything. Highly recommended.
I. S.
Their restaurant Celeste is my absolute favourite French restaurant in London. The only “downside” could be that at lunch time it can be quite empty, which means slightly over-attentive staff. Bright airy room, crisp champagne and impeccable service and gastronomic food. Not to be missed!
L. F.
Went here for an afternoon tea with my wife, excellent service and great food. The tea selection is a joy, something for everyone on the list.
T. M.
We visited the Lanesborough for a family members 70th birthday and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. Arriving mid morning, I was lucky enough that my room was ready and I was allowed access right away. Breakfast was again in the Celeste and could not be faulted.
R. G.
We had a lovely afternoon tea. Great service
A. R.
I vist the bar/cigar lounge ever now and then on special occasions. The venue is simply breathtaking. It exudes elegance, the decor is effortlessly classy and extremely well maintained. This is not a cheap place to go, but if you want somewhere special to visit once in while for drinks or otherwise - this is the place
C. Z.
One of my favorite hotels which has withstood the test of time. From when you get a personalised leather card holder with personalised name cards printed at the hotel to the heated marble bathroom floors in the rooms...the stay experience is thoughtful and personal. The cigar bar remains legendary and the spa and gym are the best in the city.
J. L. K.
We went for dinner through the taste of London offer. The set menu seemed good value compared to the regular pricing, and although I couldn't fault the service (which was excellent) and the ambience (lovely background live piano and a grand dining room) the food wasnt quite as good as I was expecting for a one Michelin starred establishment.
R. A.
Excellent afternoon tea and the decorations and room are very, very nice!
Would definitely recommend.
S. H.
Had the best experience here from the moment we walked in till it was time to check out. They even treated my little dog as a vip.
The food is fantastic and the staff were very friendly and approachable.
Being in Hyde park meant it was super close to pretty much everywhere of interest in London.
If you are looking for a sign of which hotel to go for.....this is it :)
D. Y.
I’ve been coming here for years on and off, the cocktails are the best in London. The service is superb, you can’t fault it. I live in London and I can say this is definitely not just for tourists.
L. P.
I went to the spa. Exquisitely set out, lovely to be there. The food was great. The massage was excellent, and my manicure has lasted better than any.
K. M. C.
Beautiful hotel and I know some of the event rooms are lovely. That said, it is inappropriate for business events. They crowded us and the senior delegation into an unsuitably small room which made it uncomfortable for all attending.
M. W.
Regrettably, I've yet to stay at this hotel, but I was fortunate to have breakfast at Céleste. The public rooms, restaurant and food culminated into an amazing feast for all your senses. Years ago, I had the pleasure to stay at The Dorchester, and it's very evident that the British know how to pay attention to detail. I'm certain the excellent staff at The Lanesborough are always trying to improve their guest's experience, it'll be interesting to see this evolution progress to even greater heights if I should be lucky enough to pay this hotel another visit in the future. Maybe as a guest in residence!

I was only in London for a few days and wanted to splurge on a nice hotel, The Lanesborough was above and beyond what I could have expected. The staff were very attentive and we left feeling very, very full. Here's to the lottery win that let's me stay a night and have a dinner in the restaurant.
A. H.
Very elegant and stylish English hotel afternoon tea, definitely worth to try. Sandwichs and dessert tower are bit too much for 2 people, but it all delicious!
F. K.
Was happy to stay here in what I and many others will say is the finest hotel in London. The service and attention to detail is impeccable. The check in and check out is great. Everything about this place is superb. I felt like a king.

In order to celebrate 50 years since a group of us started our nursing training at St George’s Hospital, we went back to the same place that we all began, which is now The Lanesborough, Hyde Park Corner. A plan was made with the wonderful John MacLean, Head of Food and Beverage. On the exact date we all gathered for afternoon tea in the beautiful Celeste Restaurant, which is in pale blue with many beautiful decorations with the addition of a pianist giving us some lovely music. Under a glass domed roof we enjoyed the personal attention of Benedict, for whom nothing was too much trouble. He seamlessly catered to everyone’s needs, with choices of tea from all corners of the world, finger sandwiches suited to everyone’s needs, and copious tiers of cakes. These consisted of freshly baked scones, clotted cream and preserves, hand crafted pastries which were flavoursome, unusual and not sickly sweet.
We celebrated with complementary champagne thanks to John MacLean, who oversaw the proceedings.
As we left, we were all given a beautiful bunch of pink tulips which were presented at the bottom of the steps from the tables. We thanked the two girls Agnes and Giuseppina who helped us to transfer to this restaurant which we all enjoyed so much.
The exceptional concierge was Daniel wearing the golden keys. He took us all on a guided tour of the upgraded hotel, and we were all hard pressed to recognise where the wards and other departments had been. We saw a luxurious suite and were most impressed with the decor and the IT.
Finally we enjoyed a while talking in the withdrawing room where our flowers were all given a drink.
Nothing was too much trouble and this was a great way for us all to celebrate our very special day.

Came for afternoon tea. The sandwiches and tea were ok. The desserts were pretty good and the service was excellent from the moment you walk into through the hotel door to the second you leave.

Outstanding
There is a reason why the Lanesborough is one of the best hotels in London, if not the world.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Lanesborough last Saturday. I have been lucky enough to stay in beautiful hotels in my life (the Ritz London, Ritz Dubai, Waldorf Astoria NYC, Four Seasons HK, the Peninsula Bangkok, Shangri La Singapore, Constance Seychelles, Mandarin Oriental etc.) and I can genuinely say that my stay at the Lanesborough was outstanding.
What a warm welcome. I stayed in a superb premium room, with lovely high ceiling. The food was sublime. Modern meets tradition with the super handy tablets to call your ever-so-perfect 24/7 butler (thank you Steven). And I love the fact that you don’t need a PhD to switch on/off the lights (you know what I am talking about!).
Overall absolutely sublime. It feels like home. Can’t wait going back.
T. C.
Went for afternoon tea - superb atmosphere. Excellent selection of teas and plenty of polite staff to assist. Quality of the tea and food was excellent, and the price wasn't too bad. Would recommend to anybody.
T. M.
Location excellent and easy to find as it's situated opposite Hyde Park Station. The level of attention to design details is striking. Under the superb leadership of General ***ager, Geoffrey Gelardi, the team provides a level of care and service that is unparalleled. What a great afternoon we had.
A. S.
Gorgeous michelin starred restaurant with amazing food and very wonderful staff. Beautiful both with natural light during bright days and romatic ambience during dark cloudy ones. Definitely worth the ££££.

High tea by The Lanesborough
What a delightful experience! We have enjoyed our afternoon tea in a wonderful tearoom decorated with Wedgwood motifs and the sky to be seen through glass roof. Life piano music, right tones to relax and be able to have a good conversation. Food and tea, what to say: 5* hotel-5* food, the scones, the sandwiches, the pastries, we miss them. Most amazing still the service, all the staff was very attentive, trying to guess our wishes, making each guest to feel very welcome.
R. D.
What a wonder to stay in the Lanesborough ! Very friendly and helpful concierge and staff members. Vegan options at the restaurant and for the room service are delicious, vegan burger and sweet potatoe fries are incredible. A very luxurious and relaxing place to be in London.
S. H.
Visited for an event, very close to the park, plenty of courteous staff on hand to help you with pretty much anything! Great centre piece when we visited at Christmas made entirely of chocolate! A great place to get the Christmas vibe!
M. S.
We came here for tea after the Berkeley hotel next door turned us down for not having a reservation. We didn't have a reservation here either, but the friendly staff found a space for us anyway in the corner of the library bar, and brought out an amazing selection of sandwiches and cakes and tea in beautiful antique china and silver. What better way to rest the feet after a long day walking around London?
B.
Before I was bearnapped in Tanzania I used to go with my owner/mummy finding it to be a quiet, relaxing, haven amid the frenzy Hyde Park Corner. I loved to nosh the the complimentary snacks served in three tired silverware. Staff is friendly and welcoming to teddy bears as well as humans. Recently my mummy attended with my mini-me (Mini Bearsac), and another teddy brother, Herbert. They sat in the ornate withdrawing room. I used to prefer the Library bar by the tinkering piano, especially when The Pianist played a jazzy version of teddy Bears Picnic for me!
J. F.
I’ve visited the cigar lounge and had a absolutely amazing service by Pauline. She is very professional and she has a so nice attitude. Thank you!
C. D.
We had afternoon tea here. It was delightful. Very tasty, lovely decor, nice staff. We sat and enjoyed for a long time.
D. A.
Great food and great service. Always a pleasure staying there
M. V.
This is a magical hotel and an evasion in the middle of London. It's refined beautiful, the decoration absolutely gorgeous. The service was great and we felt ver welcome in this hotel.
L. Q.
High tea is amazing, one of the only tea places left with unlimited refills and no time constraint. Truly one of the most beautiful restaurants in London as well!
H. M.
Very rich beautiful architecture
m. x.
I've got to honest, I was only there fixing a lift and probably couldn't afford to stay here but it did look very nice inside, peeked in an empty room and it was nice.
If I could afford it I'd stay here, short walk to Soho and the west end.
And my little Citroen Berlingo van squeezed in between a lambo and an R8. Bet their not euro6 lol!!!!
J. H.
Took my wife there for her her birthday dinner surprise. Restaurant is amazing and food was phenomenal. And the staff were so nice and professional. Highly recommended
B. P.
Really quite special. Second to none service - and the food was outstanding (though small in size... but I think that's the nature of the cuisine!).
B. W.
Just popped in for a drink at the bar, was treated like honoured guests of the hotel. Amazing place, lovely decor, one day when we can afford it, we intend to stay as a guest.
P. M.
Enjoyed a wonderful drinks reception and dinner here, the service was absolutely top notch even by the high standards of central London. The food was excellent as well.
S. G.
The Library bar is awesome. The perfect place to have a quiet drink with live classical music played on the piano.
G. B.
Couldn't be better. Lovely and quiet rooms with all possible comfort.
Great amenities and staff.
Clean and artistic deco!
Highly recommended!
P. C.
We went to the library bar for a night cap. I hate the upside down gin fizz and it was absolutely delicous. It was a very nice and creative take on a gin and tonic. Would definitely recommend!
T. D.
Lost its superior charm. Hopefully due to the St Barth pop up, but im concerned that it wont go back to what it was before they ripped the bar out.......and replaced it with an identical fixture!!
N. A.
Wonderful service tasty food! Really enjoyed high tea and all the flavors offered. Recommend you give it a try!
T. M.
Set on the edge of Hyde Park on a bustling and busy junction the noise of the traffic soon disappears as you wander in the delights of the lobby and reception area. The staff is very attentive. The location of the hotel is the best at the corner of Hyde Park.
D. L.
Amazing place for afternoon tea. Great atmosphere and vibes. Lovely staff and amazing afternoon tea experience. Will definely be back here again!
A. D.
I sold all my possessions and my house to stay in this hotel for a week. Bit pricey but the carpet is nice.
B. H.
LOVED this cozy library bar with books lining the walls and a roaring fire in the fireplace. Nice cocktails, decent wine list, and Cognac dating back to the 18th century on offer!
H. B.
Forget the London Ritz! The afternoon tea at The Lanesborough is amazing period. You must go and you must have it in the Celeste Room! The service was perfect, the tea was beautiful, the treats were fresh, delicious and the very best london has to offer.
P.
The Garden Room is probably the best cigar bar in London. They have an excellent selection of spirits, wine and cigars served in elegant surroundings by attentive staff.
V. U.
Amazing hotel! So rich and very classical design. Staff very well trained! I opened a new favorite hotel in London! (Thanks to Bristol in Paris!)
D. B.
The Lanesborough, Elegant hotel offering acclaimed dining, a cocktail bar & a luxe spa, plus 24/7 butler service. The best!
J. J.
Never anything but the very finest service, food, and drinks. A stellar tea today, and will likely be returning for drinks at the Library Bar later. One of the true gems of London!
K. B.
Beautiful high-end Hotel.
I. C.
When we visit London we stay at the Lanesborough . For many years now this has been our hotel of choice, we tried and tested The Ritz, The Savoy, The Dorchester and several others before finding the Lanesborough. The service and standards have never moved they are always amazing. The entire team make you feel as though you have just arrived home. If you need anything they will do their best to deliver. From theatre tickets, site tours, and restaurant bookings in the most difficult places they will always get you in. Only once have they not succeeded to delivery 100% , apparently visiting the Chelsea Flower show on the Queens opening day was a request to far but we visited the sold out event the very next day. Booked our next stay for the end of November.
M. G.
High tea at the Lanesborough is absolutely stunning. A beautiful setting, delicious food, and a super choice of teas and cocktails. An unforgettable experience.
J. K.
With my in laws in from Asia visiting us in Mayfair we were looking for the best lunch London had to offer. We tried to book one of the 3 star mich restaurants but given it was for same day was just impossible to get in. We called the concierge desk for confirmation ok and headed to the Lanesborough around 2pm for an amazing followup to our Waterside Inn dinner the night before.
Not sure if Lanesborough has any mich stars but they should as the attention to detail from the first phone call to the restaurant service and food presentation were just impeccable. We'll be visiting Belgravia more often after today's experience. Well done Lanesborough.
C. G.
A very beautiful place. Room was very cleaned and colorful, I loved this place so I will definitely stay there again and again!
R. F.
Iconic British feel this hotel is as sophisticated as its location. Their afternoon tea is to die for, with a seazonal selection os sandwhiches, cakes and othrer treats as well as a Fantastic selection of fine tea.
K. W.
London can boast around 100 5-star hotels, of these, a dozen or so including The Dorchester, The Savoy, The Ritz, Claridge’s and The Lanesborough fall into the category of ‘Grande Dame’ hotel. Nowhere other than perhaps Paris does ‘Grand Dame’ as well as London.
Deciding which of them is best really comes down to personal taste; they are all first-rate hotels and people will have their personal favourites for a variety of reasons. Mine is the 93 room Lanesborough.
The second Viscount Lanesborough built Lanesborough House in 1719 in what was then open countryside to the west of London. In 1733 the building was rented to a group of hospital governors who noted that the clean fresh air of Knightsbridge would benefit their patients.
Built on the same site, the current building dates back to 1827 and was designed by architect William Wilkins, who also designed the National Gallery. It remained St George's Hospital until the 1980s. The original 19th century deal stipulated that the owner’s family could buy back the property at the original price should it ever cease to be a hospital, thus allowing the the sixth Duke of Westminster to buy it back for just £6,000.
Opened as a hotel in 1991, The Lanesborough hasn’t been around as long as many of the Grand Dames and perhaps because of this, while being every bit as luxurious, seems more welcoming than some of the others. Guests and staff all become part of the ‘Lanesborough family’ and staying there really can feel like visiting old friends in their very grand London residence; friends that just happen to be the best hosts in town, friends that helped write the book on legendary customer service, friends that can call on the culinary skills of a three Michelin-starred Chef Patron and the contents of one of the world’s best wine cellars.
Following a recent refit, the hotel is now part of the wonderful Oetker Collection. Food, wine, cocktails, service, accommodation are all exquisite, the whole experience is flawless.
Once you have visited a few times, don’t be surprised if you are greeted on arrival with the simple phrase “welcome home”.
B. S.
impeccable service, the dining was amazing and the spa was a bonus that really made the stay one of the best. Quite pricey but 100% well worth it.
J. L.
The food was very nice and the service was great. But that was just it... Nothing really stood out. Just lacking the wow factor.

Awesome cigar patio ( the Garden Room)! Service impeccable! Great drink list, including awesome wines by the glass.
M. T.
My daughter Rebecca was born 50yrs to the day Nov 7th .in the Lainsborough Hotel when it was St George's Hospital .. So we booked afternoon tea and told reception the story We arrived and everything was exceptional... the ambience, the food, the service, the extra touch a candle and macaroons on a Happy Birthday plate (written in chocolate) The pianist playing Happy Birthday.... Thankyou so much for everything, we have recommended it to everyone.... Praising it higher than The Ritz or the Shard... We'll done everyone...
C. D.

Let me tell you what:
The Lanesborough, which is listed in some places as literally "the most expensive hotel in London"—which is the most expensive city in the Western World, so you can only imagine—is remarkable.
Forget the rock stars, politicians, and other famous people who stay there. Forget that the house restaurant at The Lanesborough received its first Michelin star in under a year, which is unheard of. Forget how beautiful the rooms and the rest of the facility are. The Lanesborough is simply as close to perfect as a hotel can be, and that's about the people.
Yes, it IS expensive; and at the height of tourist season just weeks before London is to host the Olympic Games even more so. But if you are the kind of traveler who believes in going all out when you're away, there simply is no reason to look elsewhere. Period. When you're at the Lanesborough you feel like you're at home—and a lovely home it is.
Thanks for a wonderful few days, Lanesborough!
D. M.

This grande dame of london hotels is in urgent need of a face lift. Her tattered wares are evident from the entrance through to the suites. Recently joined the spg program which could add some extra value for some but still requiring some major bottox.
