A very clean and bright pub with a good menu. Staff very polite and helpful. Food prices are reasonable for London and portions are a very good size. There are many TV’s dotted around so you can watch sports. The murals on the ceiling are worth a look as well. It is a hotel and the rooms look comfortable and a reasonable price as it just over the road from Waterloo. Good choice of beers on offer.

Staff were excellent and super friendly. We had a family room and it was more than adequate. Complimentary drinks in room fridge, plus kettle tea coffee etc. Breakfast was superb. Would use here again, handy to Waterloo station.
M. H.
Room was basic but clean and comfortable, the pub was very noisy downstairs but we couldn't hear anything in the room so that was brilliant. Staff were very nice. The breakfast was great and included in the price of the room. Could do with a lift, my partner struggled with the steep stairs to the 3rd floor being asthmatic but I'm sure if we mentioned it when booking they would have accommodated us on a lower floor.

The most comfy bed in London, lovely shower. I booked this via Expedia and maybe it's obvious to everyone but this place is a real pub, an actual pub. If you arrive late at night with kids you have to walk through the pub to check in. Opposite to Waterloo Station, Breakfast was tasty. Nice staff. They kept our bags while we spent the day in London before checking the train. Will definitely stay again.

wonderful hotel! Great location for a base to explore, right next to waterloo station. The room was very comfortable and had the added benefit of a fridge full of complimentary drinks ;) Breakfast was one of the best we"ve had. The staff are lovely and even stored our luggage for us after we'd checked out, we'll definitely be back!
C. M.
Loved it!! Myself & my BFF spent a night here, the room was spotless & cosy, no issue with train noise at all & breakfast was fab. The staff were brilliant, we would definitely return as the location was superb as well. Thanks ladies, we had a fab time xxx Cara & Trudi x

Brilliantly located outside of Waterloo train station. At first I thought 💭 what have you done? However I was blown away by the excellent customer service from the staff on duty when we arrived. An excellent price for a night stay and breakfast. The breakfast was amazing and the choices were exceptional. Nothing was too much for us. I loved the room despite it being on the top floor, no lift, and the winding stairs with my luggage. They left ear plugs as the room is next to the over head railway. Definitely recommend this place.

Due to an admin mix up with Booking.com I was charged for a room I didn't use. The manager of the hotel (Roger) ensured I wouldn't be out of pocket and arranged a room for me on alternate date without any fuss or bother and sorted me a lovely IPA upon arrival!
The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast and service in the morning was great.
I'd definitely book (directly) with them again should I be in town in future. Thanks Roger, you're a credit to your business.

Stayed overnight on a business trip. Entrance is a bit non specific (looks like a pub entrance but it will lead you to hotel reception). Space was clean and reasonably lit. Outside noise fairly muffled by double windows. Continental breakfast is included in your room fee. Overall would visit again if I had a work related visit to waterloo area.

I carelessly booked a room for the wrong date but the lovely lady at the check-in helped me and got me into a room that was slightly more expensive for the same price. She also kindly honoured my request to have flowers that I sent to the hotel placed into my room upon arrival. She and the rest of the staff were so kind and made the stay even more enjoyable. Overall it was a lovely stay and very good value for money.

Although the place had lots of great reviews, I must admit that because of the price, which is very modest by London's standards, my expectations weren't that high. How wrong I was. The Wellington is a real gem of a place. The room was clean, comfortable and larger than expected, the breakfast was excellent, and Mark and his team couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Highly recommended - really nice&cozy hotel. The bar is unique and serves great food as well as really good beer. Special greetings to Chris, a great Barkeeper and one of the nicest guys I’ve met in London!
J. B.
Nice pub and great location (next to Waterloo Station).. Staff friendly and attentive, really made our trip special - Thanks
M. W.
Location great, great value for money, staff really helpful and friendly, breakfast amazing and much much more. I would recommend this to anyone. Thank you to all the staff at the Wellington Hotel at Waterloo xx😀
B. P.
Comfy room well appointed, very friendly helpful staff.
Very close to the railway so a bit noisy, however the complimentary earplugs helped.
K.
Excellent location, excellent food and everyone was super friendly. I would definitely stay again and I 100% would recommend it

From the moment I arrived the staff were nothing but amazing the place was rite outside Waterloo station which was perfect as I flew from Edinburgh to Gatwick and train straight to the hotel the location is second to none if you want to be close to everything. the shower is to die for the towels pillows and bed is the best I have had then there is the breakfast amazing I have had the best time here and will be back!! Cannot fault the place the price of food and drinks is average which was good not charging over the top daily cleaning service of the rooms to I don’t have a bad thing to say. I would recommend this place in a heart beat.

Lovely clean room excellent breakfast friendly staff great beer what more could you ask for so good ive rebooked for next summer 😀
J. K.
Friendly staff, great location next to London Waterloo train station and very clean and comfortable room. The rooms are above the bar which is a great place for watching live sports and i have visited many times before, but this was my first time staying. Breakfast was included in my stay and is served between 7am and 930am. Highly recommend for anyone staying in London, especially if you arrive by train.

Stayed 1 night with my 2 sisters ( as a surprise trip for me)..& had a great evening. On check in lovely ItaliN lady Valerie was so helpful/kind, she introduced us to Mark , manager, lovely cheerful man- he found out it was my birthday & gave us a free 🍸drink. Rooms were clean /tidy & had all the basics....We'd definitely return again. Just a lovely stay.
F. K.
I have been there for my company’s Christmas lunch, and the service and the quality of the food was outstanding. Definitely recommend it.

Are staying here for two nights,£150.
An absoloute steal.
Good sized room and a complimentry fridge full with 2 cans Asahi, 2 London Pride. 2 cans of cider.Sparkling and still water and pepsi.
And a buffet breakfast included.
With added bonus of a busy, bussling bar just downstairs.
Job done.
s.
thanks for the rugby ball! I enjoyed the pie and mash, forgot to rate the place two years ago!
J. m.
What a fabulous night we had there and although it's right opposite Waterloo train station I can honestly say the noise of the trains didn't disturb our sleep at all due to the secondary glazing.
The pub was also extremely busy but again as the rooms are set to the side of the building again there's no disruption.
All the staff were very welcoming and friendly and as for the owner Mark what a great guy, I can't praise this place enough and especially for the price.
Tastefully done up and we will 100% be using here for our numerous trips to the fabulous city that is London!!!!
Thanks from us to the whole team at the Wellington and see you all again very soon x
M. H.
Had a 2 night stay at the hotel. Lovely room 14 and fab breakfast included in the price .will come again
D. E.
Clean rooms , excellent breakfast , value for money , friendly staff , would definitely stay again.
P. F.
Location near Waterloo station but room was nice/modern.
Staff were great - we had to amend our booking on site due to family bereavement and manager was sympathetic.
R. H.
Great pub downstairs and a comfortable hotel with friendly staff, decent sized rooms and next to Waterloo train and tube station.
M. G.
This was a great hotel for the price. Food was very good with a great selection for breakfast. The staff were excellent and any issues resolved immediately. The hotel is only 5 minutes from the London Eye and the Southbank. Being right accross from Waterloo Station easy access to the tube, station and bus. Only drawback is the outlook is not very pretty but this is easily outweighed by the positives above.
A. C.
Fantastic place to stay. Good food and right next to Waterloo Station. Just remember that you will hear trains so bring some ear plugs.
M. H.
Where to start! Mark ( General Manager) and his staff are absolutely fabulous. So helpful nothing too much trouble. Sky sports on tvs around the bars. Plenty of different alcohols to choose from. The rooms are practical for short stays as well as longer ones. The desk is big enough to facilitate a laptop and associated paperwork. A safe is in the rooms to store your valuables while you are off seeing the sights or working. There is tea/coffee/chocolate available free as well as complementary bottled sparkling and still water. The beds are comfortable both for single and doubles. 2 USB ports on the sockets that are numerous. Card access so you don't have to worry about losing keys. Considering the location literally across the road from Waterloo Station i would have expected a lot more noise. The double glazing is more than enough to ensure a good nights sleep. Now the breakfast. Opening times same as everywhere. The choices are mega so delicious and cooked to order but you don't have to worry about any delay. Lots to choose from plant based to veggie or vegan options. Or full english. Eat as much as you want. The childrens menu should keep them smiling. Overall a great place to stay i cannot recommend it enough.
D. W.
Amazing hotel, central to everything, comfy rooms, great price, fantastic choice of breakfast, lovely service. Would so go again at Christmas but booked up already. See you next year for a repeat visit xX Loved it xX

This is a delightful place to stay: very helpful and friendly staff, an excellent selection of wines, beers, etc and, along with the usual pub grub favourites, some imaginative dishes. Presided over by manager Mark: a warm hearted genial spirit.
J. W.
Always a must when arriving to, or leaving from, Waterloo!
A great team who deliver customer service that is second to none.
Mark and his management team are exceptional!

Down to earth pub with a good range of drinks. We had "one for the road' here every night on a recent visit to London but the last visit soured the experience. On the final (Friday) night a service charge was added to our drinks bill which wasn't made clear to us. When I asked for it to be removed the server said he couldn't and he would need to get the manager. It was sorted eventually but was unnecessary and made us feel uncomfortable so I doubt we'll go back next time we're in the area.
A. J.
Even I came so late, I got my room. It was clean and confortable...
B. “. K.
Stayed here in 2015 and the stay was incredible. Cool room, great location and priced well.
K. B.
Don't get duped into paying 12.5 % on top of a basic pub meal at around 15 pounds.
E. L.
Nice room ,cozy ,friendly stuff. The pub is great!
K. W.
Lovely, friendly staff and helpful. Lovely food, very reasonable prices. Our room was clean and comfortable and just what we needed.
D. W.
We can not recommend this place enough. Stayed here for a night. Lovely clean room & the owner Mark is a fabulous guy…. Breakfast was lovely. See you again.
A. R.
Quite old and dusty but the room was pretty good. Obviously a lot of noise from the road but thats what you expect. Good location.
K. F.
Loved that hotel combined with a pub. There's no elevator. but the staff is very kind and helpful asking if they should carry up the luggage. My room had a view onto the trains, I didn't mind at all and it wasn't too noisy. Great breakfast. Will surely return.
M.
Amazing hotel for the price, Staff were very helpful and prompt even when busy during the England semi finals, service was great and breakfast was lovely. No complaints 🙂
C. S.
Great hotel rooms beautiful and food amazing
P. S.
Stayed there 2 weeks ago for 4 nights and we booked this hotel for the location and superb breakfast was included. They excelled in both and also with the friendly staff and outstanding managers.
The rooms and bathroom are freshly renovated, but the bathroom is VERY small and the shower stall was tiny! This place is great for a night and time on the town, but very cramped if you are a traveler with suitcases.
There is no AC, so I believe it will not be good during the summer months, we were lucky it was cool in London when we were there.
T. H. C.
Good location to the train station. Average rooms but clean. Could be noisy due to PUB in the hotel. No lift, hauling heavy luggage up the very narrow stairs a challenge. Good English breakfast. Easy access to interesting sites by walking all the way to Westminster
P. J.
Spent 2 nights at the hotel. You need to check in before the pub downstairs closes. Small rooms, very hot and no a/c, lots of noise but they provide you with earplugs. Clean rooms, and very central location. They give you a couple of free waterbottles. All in all OK value for money, but not excellent.
M. H.
Fantastic pub just across the road from Waterloo station. Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, very good food (especially the steak sandwich with Stilton). Beer menu is diverse and excellent. Traditional cask ales are especially good here. I love the Fuller's ESB. This was our local on our trip. Highly recommend for a great pub outside the main London tourist scene, but still very accessible.
L.
Great location just across from Waterloo Station. Went in for breakfast. It was cooked to perfection. Landlord is a sweetie and made us very welcome. Pop in. Reasonable price given the location. Traditional look and feel English pub.
C. L.
Amazing experience from start to finish, would 100% stay at the wellington on my next trip

Rooms comfortable breakfast good staff amazing

The Good:
1. Amazing location, steps from the Waterloo underground
2. Great breakfast (included)
3. Good service (in the morning when the bar is closed). I didn't get the name of the server who took care of us in the morning during but she was really nice and had the greatest smile!
The Bad:
1. This may actually be in the good column for some people; the rooms are on top of a pub. Access to the rooms is through the pub or from the outside via your key.
2. Service regarding the hotel is slow when the pub is opened since employees are busy serving the pub patrons.
E. K.
I like this pub in general as it is a great location for when I come off from a long journey to pop into and do some work from. I normally bury my head in my laptop and work. However, the manager there (I'm assuming the GM) is an absolute star, really attentive and just goes that extra mile even if you said you really don't have too. A true landlord with great personal customer service. Fullers - more of this man in your pubs please!!! Going the extra mile...smashed it out of the park.
G. R.
Was able to secure reserved seating for 20 people on a Thursday evening without charge. Bar staff are efficient. Screens are not too loud. Prices are about right for London. Worth walking out of Waterloo Station for as it is just across the road. Gets busy but not too much of a squeeze. 2 long bars.
L. W.
The Staff are excellent, very helpful and friendly young ladies, made us feel very welcome.
A. C.
Ate here with my family on a midweek afternoon, including 2 kids with nut allergies. The server was really on top of it and gave us confidence that they took it seriously. Food was great and we didn't have to wait too long. Mains were between £9-13 and portion sizes were generous. Would recommend.
J. W.
Decent pub near to Waterloo. Quite big inside, you should find a seat pretty easily. Staff are alright, the food is standard pub grub, and there's always sport on the TVs too - if that's your thing. A good meeting place.
R. K.
Bar was a decent size with plenty of seating. Very close to the station. Did get a bit busy but the service was good. We only had chips but the order came quickly. Good selection of beers.
I. B.
Best place I have ever stayed at! Made us feel so welcome the room was nice and neat. Also a really comfortable bed. The breakfast was amazing and the stuff were aswell! Will definitely be staying again!
E. V.
Came here with friends to enjoy the Sunday roast. Lovely and roomy pub.
The turkey was outstanding. Best turkey I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The only flaw with the roast was that the cauliflower cheese was cheeseless..
I also loved that everywhere I looked I could see what was happening with the football. Would come back again for sure.
P. D.
As a Fullers pub you expect the beer to be good and indeed it is, and a reasonable bar menu as well. We were meeting friends prior to a concert and it was a good venue for that. My only criticism is that at the time we were there the bar was very busy and it took a long time to get served.
B. M.
An interesting quirky hotel. I was immediately put off with the stairs that went up to the room. The smell reminded me of an old people's home. Can be a bit noisy when the trains are going past, you know as soon as you enter the room and see the ear plugs. The shower room is very small and some improvising is required to clean your teeth in the sink. Breakfast is great like the other reviews say.
R. S.
I like this watering hole, great staff and the landlord is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Great Fullers beers, both seasonal and regulars. It can be a bit tough to get seating as it's a very busy pub
A.
Good selection of drinks at the bar. Generous Breakfast. Rooms are stylish, but small. The sound proofing is done really well. The manager is very dedicated to make guests feel at home and happy.
I.
Beautiful hotel, the rooms were tiny but overall the accomodation was cozy and nice. Location is perfect, very close to train amd bus station. I spent 3days here wuth my friend. I enjoyed a lot having a beer in the evening at the hotel bar. Staff was kind. Breakfast in the morning was served a la carte and I had good english breakfast but for me too greasy.
r. p.
Had me and my wife going away event at the pub on a saturday night.. it was perfect. We reserved and area and it was a simple process. the manager on the night Wayne was extremely attentive all night and went out of hes way to help us out and clear out the area for us. I would definitrly recommend this place for event, birthday or even just a casual beer. Also the food was great
T. M.
We stayed here last weekend for rugby, Great location to station but dam that room was hot as windows just open a little so we went outside about 1am and sat at bus shelter over road watching busses go by to cool down. Very loud with trains going by at the side of hotel but they had a good thought and put ear plugs at side of bed which was a good touch, Had brekki which was nice but the pancakes was to thick and to many for my taste and not crispy bacon (but each to there own) but was a good hotel
M. S.
The room is nice, the food is good. There are no elevators (lifts) and our room was on the "third" (4th) floor. The room faces the train yard, it leaves you with the option to either close the windows and turn on the fan to stay kinda cool with slightly less noise....or leave them open to have more noise and be slightly less cool. It has a pub downstairs so and it right next to the subway (tube) so you can get a beer or travel around with ease. The public transportation here is amazingly efficient.
F. Š.
I have to give it 5 stars even though the accommodation is very basic. The staff is very friendly and the idea that the pub serves as a restaurant in the morning for the hotel guests is wonderful. The food is great, I must say. I enjoyed my stay here.
P. S.
We were hotel guests. Very nice and clean (albeit small, considering we had the "luxury double room") rooms. Room prices are a bit steep, but maybe that's standard for London. Breakfast was very tasty (Full English, vegetarian version also available), the staff was nice. You can hear the trains as they are going by, but it's not too loud and we slept very well. Unfortunately the (free) WiFi did not work while we were there.
M. C.
The room facilities are very good, the bed was comfortable and the shower was wonderful. The pub itself is lively and comfortable, but the noise did not travel to the room.
The lost star was due to train noise and light that enters the room through the bathroom door.
M. S.
Overnight stay in this pub was amazing drinks are reasonably priced food is lovely bed was comfortable as well
A. C.
Great place to stay and the breakfast was incredible 🤗
D. P.
It's ok, however there are better places for similar money.
Mould and damp down one wall, bathroom door handle not attached and for some reason two safes, one of which isn't screwed down.
Breakfast was nice, given its busy location the room was quiet and some bottled water in the room was useful.
G. B.
Visited on 9th June '18Had a steak and hubby had the chicken and leek pie. Both were very tasty. Not bad prices but beware of the step that's to the right of the bar, it's easy to miss as I found and nearly lost my drink!!! Not over-priced either
C. H.
Really enjoyed our stay comfortable clean room excellent breakfast and service all the staff excellent will definitely visit and stay again
J. M.
Been twice for two separate reunions.
Mark and his staff are brilliant. Even when busy they are helpful and friendly. Good quality pub grub at reasonable prices in pleasant surroundings. Excellent large screens for sports fans.

Thursday October 31-November 1, 2019.
Since it was half-term and we had a few things planned (London Ghost Bus Tour, British Museum), we thought it wold be simpler to stay in London, overnight, rather than travelling back and forth to Watford.
Our check-in was at 15:00, which was the exact time we arrived. The lady at reception was friendly and efficient and within minutes we were booked in. With swipe key in hand we made our way to the top floor, where our family room was situated.
The room was quite spacious and had 'London Eye' wallpaper across one wall. All of the rooms have this sort of design, apparently. With an ensuite bathroom, desk, television, a well stocked fridge, kettle, heating, free wi-fi and more, our room was perfect. There are also other room sizes available, depending on your needs.
The room was comfortable and quiet, considering how close it is to Waterloo Station, and was easy to relax in. Once we had settled and watched a bit of TV, and had a drink, we made our way out for some dinner.
Following an excellent Halloween evening out, we headed back to the Wellington. With two tired girls soon tucked up in bed it was time to relax, take stock of the day and plan for the next day. Sleep came easy, as the windows and blinds effectively blocked the noise from the road outside.
The following morning we were all up and ready for breakfast, and so hurriedly descended the stairs to the restaurant area of the bar. With the girls tucking into croissants and cereal, Emma and I decided on the Full English, washed down with fresh juice.
The food was perfectly cooked and served without delay. The staff, again, were friendly and helpful, making for a great experience.
After breakfast we headed back to our room to pack and get ready for the day ahead. Checkout was a breeze and, after a nice and interesting chat with the landlord, who was possibly the friendliest landlord I have ever met, we headed off on the next part of our two-day adventure.
With so many great thing going for it, I don't think it will too long at all before we stay at the Wellington Hotel, again.
If you are walking past Waterloo Station and fancy a really nice beer, great food and an amazing pub, you should pop into the Wellington and, at the very least, check out the murals.
S. P.
Great location, conveniently located near underground/train station. Very clean and value for money. Breakfast was good. Im a light sleeper and noise of emergency service vehicles can be quite loud, part of choosing to live in the city centre And probably the case with any hotels in the city. Sound proofing the windows will help though.
J. S.
Busy pub very close to the station made this an ideal place to catch up with a group of friends. Fair range of beers available, but they're all pretty mainstream. They show sports too which was a bonus. Didn't sample the food or see any of the rooms.
L. B.
Nice decor, quite 'pub-y' vibe, average prices, nice crowd, polite staff.
Very easy to locate, just opposite the tube station.
Overall alright, I'd go again for a drink or two.
Only thing that was a bit weird is the table placement, especially the large round table just in front of the entrance.
E. L.
Great location with everything you would need. Amazing service, confy rooms and right in the middle of London
S.
Large bar and restaurant with very friendly staff. Suitable for family. Kids are not welcome to the bar after 6pm. Definitely a good place to watch all your favourite games
S. G.
We stayed at the hotel during our trip to London. Greatly situated to visit the town by bus, tube or by foot. The best part is that there’s the pub right underneath so you can have some drinks before going up to bed. Also, there’s a different entry for those who do not want to pass by the pub. Breakfast was very filling.
S. M.
Enjoyable lunchtime. Spacious bar not too crowded. Only downside was the price of my pint although most of the pubs / bars around Waterloo station would be as expensive.
S. C.
Ok, so my room overlooked the main railway for Waterloo... And sure I could hear the train's. I'll forgive them all that for a fabulous experience. What an amazing room, great decor, clean and everything worked, even all the channels worked on the TV! I loved the little twisty staircase and oh boy .... THAT shower!!! Great little pub too... Staff were lovely and to top it off a really great breakfast. Well done and I'll certainly be returning.
j. t.
Good meeting point.
Across the road and a little along from Waterloo station jublee line.
Food and rooms available.
Very good sports coverage on various screens.
Ideal for a swift one before the train. Pub door to station platforms less than 3 minutes.
Can be a passionate and vocal crowd on matchday.
Fair sized pub for the location and often enough space if in groups.
A good chip shop a few doors down.
And if you do decide to pop in.
Don't forget... you must look up. . take in the ceiling.
O. A.
They have great craft beer. Food is also delicious, but we had to wait for about 40 minutes for 3 portions of chips. All in all, it's a good stop if you are in the area.
T. M.
You get what you pay for here. £95 a night for a double room in central London is a good rate. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have ensuite bathrooms. Food in the pub is good and reasonably priced. Would stay again. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is its quite noisy as next to main road and Waterloo train station, however ear plugs are provided.
J. K.
The hotel is good value for central London. The rooms are nicely decorated and have everything you need them to have. The only downside for me was the loud music. I understand it is a pub but the music was ridiculously loud and being on the 1st floor meant this really impacted the enjoyment of our stay.
J. A.
Okay...at first you wonder... Was this a mistake... The hotel is under a bridge with a pub below and no lift for weary heavy travellers with loads of luggage. But get past that and you get into a very comfortable room, with a really nice shower, and good heating. Very scenic, right opposite Waterloo UG station for travellers and near the shops and all the sights at Waterloo, the London Eye and Westminister. Real British breakfast that shouldnt be missed! Pleasant helpful staff (needed on that staircase) and the pub atmosphere is great ... They show all the games and have a great assortment of meals. Had a great time!
K. G.
My grandmother and I shared a twin bedroom. It is small but reasonable. Note that this building is old so there are no lifts and a lot of stairs. Also the location is right across the street from Waterloo Station. Although convinent for travel this means you can hear the trains coming and going. They have a free breakfast bar with coffee, tea, fruit, pastries, and cereal. All in all it's a lovely hotel and I would stay here again.
D.
Only been to the bar so I can't comment on the hotel. The bar is ok. Sports nights are loud and it's hard to have a conversation but it's quit popular. Near Waterloo station so it's convenient to have a pint before going home after work.
C. H.
The service and staff were great but quite frankly, the food was poor. I had a bbq mixed sharer and everything was dry and tough except the chicken wings which were OK. Unfortunately all our party had similar issues and we won't be eating there again. However it was a good place for a social and it hasn't put us off going back there for drinks.
A. B.
Two nights in a lovely hotel, nicely remodeled rooms in the heart of London. Easy distance from everything and wonderful for public transport.. wifi in all rooms and pub area. General manager and staff very kind and helpful. Recommended.
B. H.
We were in the area and stuck for somewhere for Sunday lunch. The Wellington exceeded expectations with excellent roast lamb, crunchy roast potatoes and nicely done veg for £10. A fairly good range of ales too. As we were about to leave, the football started on the TV, and the volume went up. So you may want to plan your visit accordingly.
H. Y.
It's a Fullers pub (attached to a hotel). I was there at 11am for a Waterloo train and it wasn't busy at all. Good interior. I recommend turning right from the doors or left if you're behind the bar as we sat near the toilets which smelled a bit.
I. H.
Nice place to stay, doesn't look much walking down from the train station. When inside its nice enough with the rooms very good, clean, modern, although a little too warm. Breakfast was very good although choice a little strict.
T. M.
Came here after work on a Friday night. Good atmosphere here and the service is prompt too. Like the seating arrangements and not a rowdy pub. Saw customers drinking outside as it was a nice day so that's good to see. Would come here again.
L. F.
A nice BIG place for a drink. Pleasant atmosphere and lovely décor (if you look up).
Staff try hard even though they are not speaking their native tongue.
A good selection of beers and lagers but a shame that they don't do coke in bottles (the draught stuff is just not as nice).
Overall pleasant if somewhat heavily used, I wouldn't say worn out or tired but definitely in need of a spring clean.
A. L.
Nice sized pub with classic grub and decent pints. Been here a few times meeting friends as this place is so easy to find, Waterloo Station is right across the road and bus stops right outside.
m. n.
Fab pub/hotel . excellent food .lovely bedrooms good choice of tea coffee comfy beds
A. G.
We popped into The Wellington for a beer. The place is huge... rooms on rooms. The beer selection was good and the barmaid very cheerful, which is good to see at such a late point in the evening. There were a few lads in quite a 'refreshed state' but despite being a bit over loud, they were ok. I'd visit the Wellie again.
M. F.
Hotel is in great spot, right next to subway station. It has pub in the lobby and reception is really hard to find. Rooms itself are decent but way too expensive for what they offer. On the other hand the food and the ambient are great. I would recommend if you are ready to spent a bit more amount of money for staying next to the station.
R. M.
Clean room with good food and beer but there is no lift so getting my heavy suitcase up the 3 flights of narrow stairs was a huge challenge. Excellent location right opposite a major train and tube station but it is very busy and noisy. Good service and excellent staff.
S. M.
Busy pub in the centre of London, very close to Waterloo station. Good quality food, literally something for everyone. Good service with a large variety of beers and as it's a Fuller's pub a lot of the old favourites. Make sure you get there early as it does get very busy at lunch time and evenings
J. M.
Great place to stay near to most of the sights. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great food and drink. Some noise at night but what do you expect, it's right outside Waterloo Station.
D. H.
Good rooms, great breakfast
L. B.
Nice vibes and good selection of drinks. Had the vegetarian burger and chips and it was tasty and came quickly. Staff friendly too and made us feel welcome.
M. “. T.
Standard pub fare with excellent transport links, given its proximity to Waterloo. Service was a bit slow when I visited, but no other problems. If it's quiet the railway can be heard from above.
C. B.
Not a bad bar for after work drinks, quite a few TV's showing sport and plenty of seats. Close to Waterloo station and service was good, not busy either for 7pm on a Thursday.
J. S.
Hugely popular, probably due to the great location right on top of Waterloo Station. Still a bit expensive but good selection of all types of drinks. Reasonable food menu too given the location.
A. E.
Stopped in for lunch, what I'd call "proper" pub. Dark wood, good beer, and good food. Very handy for Waterloo and the IMAX, service was good, prices were London-reasonable, and the clientele a nice mix of the young and old.
D. N.
I'm only reviewing it as a pub, cause that's all I used. "Tavern" is just the right name for this place - very 60-70s vibe - big bar, lots of keg beer & lager. Only the Red Barrel is missing. It's fine, it's right by the Station and you get served quickly - so fine for travellers.
R. C.
Long time since been to London great place to stay Mark and the staff were excellent
S. D.
Loved our stay here. We stayed 3 nights in rooms over & had large breakfast to order each morning in the pub. Great location, authentic and warm rooms, wonderful views, friendly service ...cramped, tiny staircases, rooms, and bathrooms that we enjoyed immensely. Walking, busses, tube & rail are EASY from here.
J. M.
Dinner and drinks were quality. The Sunday dinner was light on meat (the roast lamb was tender and flavourful) but certainly didn't leave me empty: a lights crisp Yorkshire pudding, rust potatoes with gravy, cauliflower with sweet, sautéed cabbage, and a rich scoop of mashed turnip. Price (£12.95) was typical for London. Beer and cider we're about £5/pint, with around a dozen options on tap (Kozel, Fowlers, Guinness, etc...) and it seemed a good spot for catching a football/soccer match on the TVs. Atmosphere was relaxed and made for a decent dinner stop.
D. G.
Roger was absolutely fantastic. Pleasant to order from and informative. He gave my friend and I the best advice about where to travel to in Brazil and honestly...that's 'life advjce' to keep in mind. Thanks Roger and best wishes. You're a credit to The Wellington.
R. H.
Good location, wifi and clean room. Biggest drawback was a broken window that cannot be closed, so 8C and rainy outdoors, very chilly and humid/damp inside + heating not working. Not a good experience, could easily get cold.
J. B.
Convenient for Waterloo station and shows the sport. Big inside, however it's lacking a big screen and gets very hot; it's here or the sports bar in the station for sport with quick access to the station. Personally, choose here as it's more of a traditional pub feel and you're less likely to need to make a booking to watch a big game.
A. C.
Reasonable beer. Reasonable prices. Has a lot of screens in the bar so pretty good for watching sports. They had the 6 nations on and football later on. Good central location.
J. M.
Very busy, difficult to get a table. Great if you're a sports fans with lots a Tvs around the bar with different channels/ games. Wide range of drinks and food options. Wine a bit over priced.
K. L.
This hotel provides so many amenities for a great price! The breakfast was delicious, rooms super clean, and location is close to bus stops, trains, and close to London center.
S. H.
Nice enough pub, although quiet for the location.
The night was ruined by the doormen who repeatedly harass you to leave within minutes of the bar closing (don't they realise this is ******* annoying and puts people off coming back??). We complained to management, who clearly couldn't care less, and then the harassing doorman tried to throw us out for complaining!
So basically, don't bother. The Hole In The Wall across the road is much better, as are all the bars in South Bank.
M. B.
Loved it made our stay recommend the quiz night and singing night. Cornwall at it's best don't be put off that it's a hotel it's best pub and beer garden in the town
J. S.
Average. Although it is a Fuller's pub so they do serve a nice pint of ESB. Was going to order food but the menu didn't appeal. Very convenient for Waterloo station though.
J. M.
Great pub and location for Wembley stadium (tube from across road), covent garden, Southbank and theatres. Only downside is train noise...we were vibrated to sleep but it was worth it. Light sleepers avoid, train lovers will appreciate the steel bridge by the bedroom window.
We'd go back!
l. w.
Stayed here 1 night and was really impressed with the rooms and the breakfast. Would recommend this place and would stay again. Only thing they could add is a little fridge to the room.
K. S.
Decent hotel near Waterloo Station with friendly staff. Rooms are a touch small and get very humid when it rains. Oh and there is no lift, so you're carrying your bags up some narrow stairs.
R. D.
Service a bit slow but maybe because they were quite busy. Interesting pub built under and around two railway bridges. Music a little loud but probably to drown out the trains!
A. D.
Great location. Walking distance from many London tourist spots. Rooms were small. Stairs made carrying luggage difficult
J. H.
Great central spot, very comfortable clean rooms, a bit small maybe but no big deal, family of four slept comfortably. Great classic english pub downstairs, great pints, good service, manager is on point and cares
J. L.
I went to the Wellington for a language exchange event. The bar had a decent selection of beers. I can't comment on the accommodation or food as I didn't stay there or eat
J. R.
The atmosphere would have been improved if it wasn't force upon you with piped music. The beer was well kept, but they would serve with a large head.
N. C.
Went for dinner, service was ok, first mug was not clean the second one was not spotless either. Food is great though, especially the fish I ordered, absolutely loved it, smoky, juicy and fresh.
B. B.
Great atmosphere, went for a couple of drinks and had a great time. Close to Waterloo station and other transport links so ideal for a quick drink. Friendly staff and lovely place for a couple of drinks
C. S.
Stayed here many times. Can be noisy when trains go by but a magnificent pub that will have yiu taking pictures of the walls and wondering if it's always that busy on a Friday afternoon.
M. O.
It's a "pints before the train" pub, close to Waterloo. Small selection of ales, big screen tv's with sports and news. Not eaten there so can't comment on food.
A. K.
Friendly staff and always good local brews on tap. Trains are a tad noisy but they give you war plugs.
H.
Was a great place to watch the Rugby. Obviously a little bit overpriced but considering the area you can't really complain to much. Plenty of screens for sports and such.
K. B.
Lots of character high ceilings large room and bar. Still cannot get over the price of a London pride in a Fuller's house.
L. S.
Room was acceptable. Shower was not in the best working condition. Located in very busy location. Loud until early morning hours but you likely know that beforehand. Would not stay here again unless I was in a pinch and needed the location.
A. S.
Went there for drinks only so cant comment on food. The location is amazing and it was very busy for Wednesday night. Good choice of drinks but be prepared to wait when busy
A. B.
Great pub TV screens to watch sports staff were extremely friendly especially for a bust Saturday night....we even got Match Of The Day put on lol Thanks The Wellington we had a fun night!
G. S.
Great old London pub. Beer not too badly priced for London. Food way overpriced and not good enough to justify Gastro Pub pricing.
D. W.
Nice pub. Went there to watch the football while having lunch and a few drinks. Food was good, a little expensive but good quality. Good atmosphere for the football.
A. K.
I've never stayed here but I've been in this pub hotel manier times going to Weymouth from Waterloo and various areas I can honestly say it is a lovely pub lots and lots and lots of atmosphere very reasonably priced in beer the food looks good although I've never tried it but I'll always come back here whenever I mean Waterloo
K. S.
Staff were excellent but a pub that doesn't open until midday on a Saturday, especially in London isn't a proper pub. Don't think I'll go back there in a hurry 😳
J. P.
Great location and very close to the Waterloo station. Lots of screens and different areas for seating. Food is very expensive and tiny portions.
S. M.
Nice place, however pretty crowded on a Friday evening (couldn't get a seat). Beer is a bit pricey, frontier was over £5 a pint.
n. o.
Just visited the bar. Good atmosphere, comfy chairs and friendly staff. What more can you ask... cheaper beer would be nice but that's London for you
L
P. W.
Handy location, opposite Waterloo Station, reasonable selection of your typical beers, good size bar so was able to watch the England Euro 2016 match fairly easily and get served.
P. O.
Went there for the ceiling mural alone. You have to see it to believe it
Good beers and nice food, too, Fuller's at their best
C. J.
Mark and staff are brilliant , the breakfast was excellent , the hotel is well placed for attractions & transport. Highly recommended .
В. Н.
Nice place, comfortable. First floor is a bar with restaurant. One minus - we have no air conditioner in our room!
I. W.
Really good London pub. Packed out in both bars, plenty of banter for the football. Most staff good but one miserable female, seemed everything was too much effort.
s. d.
Good value for money and staff are really nice
N. H.
I like this pub. The staff are keen and attentive, there are a good range of beers and lagers.
And it is a good location.
A. R.
Nice pub
N. O.
Great place. Really worth a visit. Friendly atmosphere throughout. Highly recommended.
R. S.
Busy pub and hotel opposite Waterloo station. Never been in the hotel part, but the pub is OK. Very, very busy "after work" with people meeting up for a drink, it can be difficult to get served and mostly impossible to find seating, but plenty of nooks and crannies to perch a pint while having a chat. Not cheap.
M. L.
Went in for a quick drink and a sandwich very busy only 2 people serving waited 10 mins to be served!! Food was ok ish nothing special considering the price ! Wouldn't go back.
D. K.
It's a decent pub for a drink or 2 after work. Very busy and you're sometimes lucky to get a seat.
F. A.
Room ok.. staff friendly
P. W.
Came for the Sunday roast but was disappointed with the choices, lamb and turkey. Decided not to eat but had a drink which was pleasant. Staff were friendly and queues were small.
P. L.
Nice, big open pub next to the Jubilee entrance at Waterloo. TV's, good service, all in all a great place to get a drink after work.
I. H.
This is a convenient bar that is close to waterloo station. Its clean and tidy but a little overpriced. I visit for convenience i.e. a pint after work rather than for atmosphere
S. T.
The breakfast and atmosphere was great. Having to climb the steps to the 3rd floor with luggage in hand, not so much.
G. M. S.
A usual spot for a drink before getting the train home after football. Good selection of drinks, plenty of TVs showing sports, good atmosphere.
R. M.
Great service, very friendly atmosphere. It is always good place to go with friends to watch a match or Eurovision :) There are very good quality screens and sound there.
A.
Went to the pub and they had large tvs showing sport games. The food tasted ok. The service was also ok. Didn't go into the hotel part
D. O.
Good location to waterloo, good for watching sport and having a pint. Nice rooms and does a great breakfast. Loved the Black pudding 🖤
S. M.
Typical London boozer. Great location by London Waterloo. Reasonably priced and good food. Definitely not fancy but good for a quick bite / pre train drink.
I. B.
Great location just opposite Waterloo station, nicely appointed room although on the small side, great breakfast and atmosphere! Well recommended for short stays.
A. W.
Food was fine, but nothing special. Burger a little dry. Pretty noisy, though I guess that's to be expected on a Friday evening.
J. N.
Decent bar close to the station with good nachos, beer selection and plenty of screens for football. Close to Waterloo station also, which is a plus.
G. H.
Fairly standard Fuller's pub. Usual selection of beer. Not too crowded considering closeness to Waterloo
A. L.
Nice selection of beer and food. Always start and finish a day at Twickenham off here. Good rugby pub.
R. L.
Pros: nice stone walls, traditional pub feel
Cons: loud, repetitive music made talking difficult, overpriced, stuffy/toilet smell around the bar
R. K.
Conveniently located opposite Waterloo Station
G. D.
Great atmosphere. Reasonably priced drinks. Lots of tables which is rare for a central pub.
J. S.
Great location. Rooms super tiny but workable. Friendly staff at pub for both breakfast and dinner times.
I. L.
Room is hot, and with two overhead trainlines it's noisy too. Bed comfortable, facilities good, breakfast great though
R. H.
Nice pub, close to Waterloo station, serving good booze and passable food. Big screen sport on tv.
A. E.
Basic British pub affair. Beers were mid priced. Order food at the bar. I had a burger which was surprisingly excellent.
T. F.
Really great atmosphere with multiple screens for the different sports! Just wish I'd been able to get a seat to give it a 5!
N. G.
Great pub and hotel, fantastic location in the heart of London, very welcoming atmosphere with wide choice of drinks and food.
A. K.
Fantastic room. Very nice modern decor. Warm breakfast included. Fantastic location near waterloo station. No complaints!
G. H.
Cracking place. Very friendly, really clean rooms with descent facilities.
A little noisy with it being so close to the station but you'll be hard pressed to find digs better than this without paying stupid amounts
T. B.
I've drank here loads of times and always had a good time. Staying here is just as good!😀
A.
Not bad pub, plays terrible music instead of the football commentary though. Would not go here if you want to watch the football
s. c.
Great atmosphere, busy pub with good food and rooms if you need them at good rates for the area
M. G.
Good beer selection, friendly staff, great location just outside of Waterloo but the WiFi leaves much to be desired.
M. C.
Solid hotel, very clean, good pub. Almost didn't notice that I could spit on the train tracks.
d. h.
Lively atmosphere and good food. Close proximity to the station making it perfect for a last minute pint or bit of food
D. C.
The Wellington Hotel is an excellent place to stay and drink/ eat in. Everything about it is lovely from the staff to the rooms to the food, would recommend it to anyone and will always come back.
J. O.
Great service and food accustomed by an amazing host Mark. Perfect location just outside Waterloo Underground Station.
A. E.
This used to be such a tatty place. Great improvements and well kept beer.
Ideal location before catching the tube or train.
A. J.
Nice traditional pub stayed 2days easy to get around from room we're good .
C. T.
Fuller's pub. Had a Sunday lunch, it was ok. Place is very big old London pub, not many customers.
V. O.
I enjoyed the food and customer service. This is a historic building. I recommend you visit this pub.
J. A. B.
Busy pub. Run by Fullers had a few great pints of London Pride. Bar staff are quick efficient and friendly
J. F.
Amazing hotel Mark is a fantastic person made us feel very welcome he also went out of his way to do something very special for us top bloke thank-you
Robert Julie auntie Jane and ray xx
H.
Visited the Wellington for a few pints. However all they had was fosters as all the other lager was out. This is understandable late evening bht it was 5.30 pm, as well as this all there card readers were broken.
R. L.
Big noisy pub. Could be great but staff are slow and drinks are expensive.
M. B.
Good location but not the best choice for beer or, in my, experience service. Really enjoyed the retro arcade game though.
S. T.
Well kept ales and friendly staff. I was told by my friend who was staying at the hotel thatvthe rooms were well laid out, clean and we'll furnished.
S. J.
Nice place to stay right by the station. Pleasant staff but bathroom a little dirty and would benefit from a little tidy up.
L. F.

J. T.
The food was unexpectedly pretty good,, not amazing, but much better than expected... The plater with ribs and chicken is recommended
C. G.
Good food, not overly expensive for London. Busy but not so crazy that you couldn't get a seat, impressive for a Saturday night!
R. A.
Nearly as busy as the station it stands opposite. Not a bad place to meet up, grab a beer and consider the next stage of your travels.
G. H.
Absolutely flawless hospitality! Cannot wait to come back, massive thanks to Mark & everyone at The Wellington - cannot recommend enough.
I. C.
Great place for a drink if you need to be close to Waterloo. Plenty of room and tables with plugs!

Quite loud music, reasonable range of beers but nothing special. Perfectly fine for a quick drink.
J. T.

A. B.
Great looking pub, however we were after more traditional english pub food
T. W.
Nice big bar. Good range of drinks. A good option close to the station.
