A. G.Staff are wonderful and super friendly/helpful. Room was spotlessly clean. Beds comfortable. Location was excellent too , busy area but very quiet within hotel .Plus they were happy to have me and 2 Staffordshire bull terriers stay for an extended period. Can not fault this hotel and the lovely staff.
Only minus was lack of parking on site unless u r disabled .I will definitely be using this hotel again and would recommend. Quite shocked reading some of the reviews as it's the complete opposite of what I have experienced.
A. B.Always welcoming and comfortable. The last time I visited I was a little upset in arrival. The receptionist was so kind and patient, exactly what I needed at that moment. I wont forget her generosity.

T. C.We are regulars at this hotel as it is the best value in the area. This time, once again, we were not disappointed. Despite there being restrictions due to the Covid-19 crisis, we arrived to an immaculate room with excellent measures in place to ensure our safety throughout. The lady on reception was absolutely fabulous, very pleasant and helpful and our stay for 3 nights went off with no problems at all. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in south west London.

L. A.It’s cheap and convenient, but stop about there. Zero facilities and you can’t open the windows. We stayed during winter and it was roasting (no heating control) can’t imagine how uncomfortable this would be during the summer.

This location was perfect for my needs (just 2 nights) including the Flower Sanctuary florist nearby.
I will stay here whenever I need to visit this area . The staff were, without exception very
kind and helpful.
My first evening my son drove us to the Tooting Lido for a wonderful swim .
J. M.Excellent location for my need. The staff couldn't have been more friendly, hospitable and willing to help in any way they could. I'd stay there again and recommend. There was one quite significant problem however, which the staff tried their hardest to ease. That was the incredible heat in the room, it was opressively hot. The windows didn't open because of obvious health and safety reasons.......we were at least 5 floors up......but I would have given anything to draw in fresh air from a partially open window. The staff provided a fan and limitless cold water and were incredibly apologetic. To be honest, their hands were completely tied and they managed what they could as effectively, politely and courteously as possible. But please please please Travelodge, consider investing in some air conditioning!!

A. W.Wonderfully comfy beds, a friendly greeting, quiet rooms, clean bathroom and a great location. They'd really considered the hot weather and had given us an electric fan as well as the air con and the option of quilt or sheet. I can't deduct a star really but the split condom someone had used to try and cover the fire alarm should really be removed properly but somehow I can't hold it against the place. Some customers are awful.

To build a newish hotel and not allow windows to be opened, fine. But have air con. Not to have opening windows and/or air con is stupid. Otherwise a lovely hotel with rooms bigger than the other local travelodges and great staff. Location is perfect, right by Balham train and underground station

A. H.Overall the hotel was decent, literally next door to Balham tube station and it's located on a busy street with plenty of places for food, there's even an Aldi. Comfy bed and reasonably powerful shower. The hotel was filled with festival goers and we couldn't hear them, so that was a bonus.
The reason for 3 stars is that the windows didn't open, no idea why but they didn't. So when it's 30 degree outside, it's sweltering in the room, quite hard to sleep. We resorted to taking cold showers right before bed. They did give us a fan but it just pushed hot air around the room.
J. G.Great staff here. Friendly and professional. Have stayed here many times. Excellent location for tube and train connections. Rooms are always clean and comfortable. It’s worth paying extra for the Super Room option.

No parking, l was worried at first, but there was always parking handy in the nearby roads, handy for the Tube into London Centre. Local pubs more for younger clientele, no near for Breakfast but plenty of restaurants for Dinner.
A. B.Located right next to the Balham Underground Station and the Balham Rail Station, this place is in a perfect location for visiting the rest of London. Inside, the rooms were clean and quite spacious with a large and comfortable bed, TV, small desk and a shelf for your clothes. One small annoyance with the room was that the shower had a shower curtain instead of a shower door which can make the shower feel smaller than it actually is.
I stayed for a decent length of time, during which I had great service from the all the staff. I would definitely stay here again when visiting London.
P. K.The Air ventilation was horrible, I understood why the windows had locks but honestly it got very stuffy quickly.
The shower had no temperature adjuster which I was quite shocked to see, if you like hot water burning your skin off this is definitely the hotel for you along with, having to pay for using WiFi after the standard ‘free 30mins’ however, outside there is a free bt WiFi spot you could access 😉.
The staff we’re great checking in and at night, but there was an Asian man alone one morning who was very rude.
But apart from that for the location, price Sunday was a bargain.
T. T.Pros: great location right next to Balham underground. Very clean, friendly staff. Room amenities not bad - TV, kettle with tea and coffee, selection of pillows and sheets.
Cons: no air con at all, which surprised me for the price. Room was sweltering despite a fan, and the windows couldn't be opened. Railway station was quite loud, which could be a problem if you're a light sleeper. No real food available.
Not a bad stay, but expensive for what you get.
R. T.Great location with everything you’d expect from a budget hotel. Bed was comfortable and the room was well kept and warm. Great location. Balham is a lovely area with great restaurants. Not far from Clapham too for a walk around the common or a visit to its many restaurants and bars.

T. H.We had a room off the High St and away from train station so it was nice and quiet. The room is ventilated but it did get quite hot and stuffy as there is no air conditioning and the windows are sealed shut. A fan is provided which I had to use to be able to sleep as it was hot at night. Otherwise a very convenient location right beside the tube/rail.
C. B.Your average Travelodge, clean and simple, not luxury just everything you need. I stayed on a boiling hot day and the windows do not open, so nice an quiet despite being on the main road but was very hot at night. I said this to the staff and got a partial refund, very kind.

And were moved to a cooler room as the 4th floor was unbearable (27 degrees outise). We also arrived a little early and were given complimentary early check in can't fault the lovely staff. Only criticism is the rooms are incredibly warm with poor ventilation. You can't even open the windows! They really need to invest in a proper cool air ventilation system as the one they have is terrible!
S. B.A basic hotel, but rooms are clean and comfortable. Only prepacked breakfasts are available at the hotel. However plenty of local cafes service breakfasts. Also location is 20m from train station, and Tooting common Parkrun is 15mins walk.

Sticky loo plunger meant noise of running water .

C.Brilliant proximity from the tube and British Rail stations and bus routes along the main Balham Rd As with all Travelodge hotels you're sealed in, locked Windows which makes me feel claustrophobic still that aside, friendly staff clean and tidy in all public areas. Possibly my favourite Travelodge I've stayed at so far!
G. P.Standard travelodge with comfortable bed and quiet room. Basic to the extent there are no bedside tables, no hairdryer and the temperature control is a single electric wall heater. The staff are friendly and this makes a big difference.
G. U.To be fair you get what you paid for ! It’s 30 seconds from the tube and train stations and all the shops are literally on your doorstep! Rooms are all standard. The only thing is that the rooms don’t have air con. Fan is supplied, however for hot summer night it won’t suffice.
C. W.Basic version of Travelodge (no restaurant / bar), but what it does offer is a friendly, efficient service along with clean and prepared rooms to what you'd expect from Travelodge. Yes, it's no frills, however having spent three consecutive nights at the hotel - arriving at varying degrees of time, my room was cleaned and prepared ready for my return. The hotel was also quietly comfortable - given its location near Balham train station. Will stay there again.

Overall, it was a good 3 star experience.

Clean and comfortable accommodation.
Only thing missing is a proper breakfast service.

M.Windows don't even open even to a safety latch, who h is quite disappointing, however fans are available in each room. Personally I still prefer natural air. Beds are ok, pillows gave me a a slight stiff neck. This Traveldoge is based right opposite the Overground and underground so not much walking is required. It also has amenities close close by and food eateries. I will now go and collect my first ever breakfast box and possibly be disappointed as I have heard Travelodge have changed it.... for the worse! 🙄

J. M.The hotel is located on a busy street with street parking. The accommodation is what you would expect from Travelodge, comfortable, clean and the reception was courteous. The hotel has no restaurant facilities, so if you needed breakfast you have to order a packed one.

B.Location for London is ok as it's next door to balham tube station (tubes can be heard when sleeping at the front off the hotel but it's not too bad) and it's only 30 mins ride into London on northern line. There's lots of nice places to eat in balham especially for breakfast/ brunch. And on an evening there's some really nice bars and some restaurants too. The hotel is 2 star basic but it's clean and has tea/ coffee making facilities in the rooms. There's no air conditioning though...i was on the top floor and it was like an oven but reception gave me two fans which did marginally help. Staff see friendly and helpful. It was worth the stay £110 for 2 nights, as a cheap base for a London weekend getaway
