S. S.Lovely and polite staff, the guy at the reception was so nice and made me feel very welcomed! The room was good for the price, clean towels and complimentary tea and coffee! Bathroom was super clean and the beds were made very nicely. Even has a mini fridge! Would recommended :)
C. W.Quite a cheap hotel for its location. Close enough to the underground to get to the sights while still having a home run feel. Our room was by the fire escape. On one hand it was reassuring to see how carefully they took fire safety. But unfortunately because the escape was well lit all night one side of the bed was quite bright. Fairly certain that only our room would be effected by this though. My only true issue was the shower which was not remotely warm let alone hot. Would not stay here for an extended stay but for a weekend break it is good.
S. L.Punches well above its weight. Very comfortable bed, hot shower, mini-fridge. Free hot breakfast included. Staff are incredibly nice. Spotty Wi-Fi and poorly insulated rooms are the main drawbacks, but this is a budget hotel after all.

G.Really good for the price. Everything was as said; free WiFi, breakfast etc etc. To any newcomers with a car, you need to register your number plate at the reception and also, though there is free WiFi the signal is only available at certain points of the Hotel. Besides, our stay was really good and only one thing really stood out as a negative - that was the noise. I could often hear the people next to me through the walls but that was out of the Hotel's control as they were being very loud.

l. l.Lovely place and wouldn't mind staying again. The people at the desk were nice and so were the people who were also staying there. However my problem is yes we got breakfast but not what was advertised. We got a choice between cereal or toast, granted that you had various Jams and a few different cereal but it was filling as you have to make sure that everyone there gets some as well which is fare. However you expect a English breakfast or something to go with the toast not just Jams. Also 1 person there had bad mental health issues and no offense to anyone but the way this man would act shouldn't be put around with children! All said and done the situation was sorted the owner apologized. Lovely hotel and people are nice wouldn't mind staying again

R.This was my first visit to this hotel and I enjoyed my stay here while working in the area.The staff seem friendly and helpful,I stayed in the little chalets out the back,They are nice,maybe a bit tight inside the room and bathroom,The shower was ok but I think you would struggle if you were on the large side but the bed was comfy and I had everything needed.There is lots of shops close by,takeaways etc.We ordered takeaway and it was there quickly.The breakfast was decent and hot and cold food a available.Its situated on a very busy road and not much space for cars or vans I guess if its busy but it was a nice stay here and I enjoyed my time
S. A.It is what it is. Decent clean rooms with shower and tea and coffee making. Great for short stays. This was my second visit and wasn't impressed with breakfast this time. Food was good. Just far too many people squashed into a short breakfast window (about 90 minutes). Could do with breakfast being extended by 30 minutes to an hour to make it a bit less hectic - especially when the hotel is full as it was.

a. w.Second night of a three night stay. I love the chalet room, very private and quiet. It has everything I need including a good quality TV and a FRIDGE! It may sound silly but I'm sure many would agree something so simple is a valuable asset that is rarely included in value for money accommodation.
On arrival I was greeted with a very professional and courteous welcome. Parking facilities are good for the area .
I would definitely return to the viking hotel if I am in the area again.
C. O.The Viking is a lovely place to stay. Set up with a main hotel building with an almost motel feel set up out the back. The rooms are nice size and clean. The room fridge is a nice touch and in an area where you have an Ibis and a Premier Inn very competitive with their room pricing
L. S.An affordable yet still comfortable place to stay if you plan to visit London. Excellent accessibility with public transport, clean and relatively quiet yet not dead neighbourhood. A leisure centre right opposite the hotel. Easy to eat out or get food in a grocery store. A bit complicated to communicate with the guys at the reception and to get what you need from the staff (extra sheets, for example), yet still okay. Breakfast is just fine, with an option of a simple version of English breakfast included, personally I just missed some fruit. Double beds are not the biggest which might be a problem when you are not travelling in a couple. The overall impression is not bad indeed, though.
A. Y.I stayed at this hotel last night and had a very comfortable stay. Upon entering i was greeted by a pleasant man who told me the prices and what it included. I was told of the secure car park at the back also. The room was nice and clean and spacious. I was on the first floor facing the main road but with the windows closed there was not much noise as i would have expected. Breakfast was included in the price of the room but i did not go down for breakfast. Upon leaving the hotel i was asked how my stay was and if everything was satisfactory which it was. I would recommend this hotel to others and would be very happy to stay again.
w. m.i disagree with a few of the complaints. i have stayed for the last three months. Staff friendly. Rooms clean and made up every day. Bathroom clean shower good. Breakfast good. Cereals, fruit juice, bacon sausage egg beans toast cold meat, cheese toast tea and coffee. average 50£ night inc breakfast. and free parking.
I work in the area so not really a romantic getaway hotel.

E. H.You get what you pay for I suppose. Room was nicely sized, cleaned daily and had all the basic amenities with the ability to park in a locked compound Infront of your room. Other than that I can't say much, the room was always absolutely boiling, probably why there where no duvets just sheets. Our bed was broken so squeaked horrendously, plug in the shower was blocked so filled up very quickly.
Staff where a bit short, we overheard a disagreement with another guest who asked for an extra pillow to which the receptionist just said no very bluntly.
Breakfast was below average with not enough crockery for full capacity. WiFi wasn't free as advertised either.

N. R.It's a good bargain and we did like the location. You travel into the city centre very easily (i.e. central line or DLR), the bus station is just a few yards from the hotel and very convenient. Our favourite wetherspoon is just a few bus stop as away from the hotel which is good bargain as well and great if you travel with kids.
It can be quite noisy in the morning when it's busy: ( so don't prefer to stay for too long but would still come again as everything else is really as expected.
D. G.Very old hotel but still good enough for one or two nights while exploring London. Very close to the public transportation and some local grocery stores. The breakfast was very poor and not very tasty. Good for young couples.
G. T.This hotel really isn’t bad for the money paid tbh, the only complaint I had was with how the room was cleaned - it wasn’t! No effort in laying the bed, toilet wasn’t scrubbed or shower cleaned. I would defo stay again if I ever need to stay in Stratford the other hotels surrounding are way too overpriced for 2*. The guys at the front desk are super friendly. That was their idea of a full English breakfast which was laughable, but for the price I can’t complain
B. A.The Viking Hotel, sounds Scandinavian in name. Asked in the hotel reception and no one knows why it is called The Viking. Stayed three nights, (Wed, Thurs & Fri). Booked the room on the internet. The services were okay, from check-in, to cleaning the rooms & surroundings. The free breakfast was good, serve and eat as much as you could eat. The English breakfast was made fresh when you requested for it. Made up of 2 eggs, sausage, bacon and baked beans.
I could NOT extend my booking for an additional three days, because they were fully booked over the weekend. This is not unusual for hotels in Stratford. I would recommend it, if you are looking for value for money.

K. L.You get what you pay for. By London standards my room was cheap. It was clean but old and tired. Soap, towels and tea/coffee facilities are provided in the room but no shower gel or floor/hand towels. The pillows were well filled but the blanket was just a sheet. There was a top quilt but I prefer not to use these as I do not believe they are cleaned after every guest. The shower had decent water pressure and temperature. The bed was creepy and lumpy. It did not affect my sleep. The TV was good and even had a dvd player and freebies but the signal did occasionally drop out. There is a radiator in the room and a fan (no air con). Wi-fi is not free. The layout of the place is much like an American Motel (the corridors to the rooms are outside). The staff from reception to breakfast did not speak English very well and there was difficulty checking in. Ordering breakfast was commical to watch as orders were doubled or sent to the wrong tables. The food on offer was very basic and cheap. Warm yogurt does not appeal to me but unlimited hard boiled eggs were a nice surprise. I could not see tea, only coffee and i had to ask where this was as it was not particularly clear. Parking wasn't an issue. Like I said you get what you pay for. My biggest concern was lack of hospitality and language... It speaks volumes about a place.

P. B.Room just like a holiday Inn. Continental breakfast for £30, lol. But that counters the room for £30. So in all a basic room and toast for £60! Near to Westfield shopping centre. Free secure parking. Pleasant staff, would use again.
J. M.Location is east to find and just opposite a leisure centre which makes it easier to find by bus. The room was like a motel room - with an outside corridor alongside many rooms. The staff however didn't seem to care. It took around 10 mins to check in, yet we were the only guests at reception. We left earlier than planned due to the fire alarm going off, but they hadn't evacuated the building and people were still having the buffet breakfast or were in a huge queue at reception. We'd prepaid so just left them our card and paid for breakfast elsewhere!
L. K.We stayed at the Viking Hotel for 4 nights at the beginning of October 2016. We were very satisfied with all services at the front desk (young guys were very kind to help us with all our requirements and questions), with quality and choice of meals at breakfast, with cleaning of the room, with staff at the hot and cold cupboard at the breakfast (especially young woman called Lenka was very polite, in a good mood and always with a smile on her face and agreeable and helpfull in any occasion). We recommend warmly this hotel for all tourists. Just one problem: we had to pay for wifi.
K. W.The hotel could do with some money putting into it. The carpet had definately seen better days with quite a few marks and stains making an appearance. The bedding was very clean and comfortable but the duvet had large holes in it. There was a large smart tv which was brilliant although the remote was filthy and the wet wipes had to come out. The bathroom was moderately clean but the shower was really good and maintained a good temperature. There were no signs to put on your door to say you didnt want to be disturbed however so when we arrived back in at 2am from a night at the O2 the maid still came in even though we had locked the door (bit awkward as she didnt hear us shout). The second day we were awoken at 8am by hammering and drilling on the same floor. We are not early birds and were not going for the 7am-9am breakfast so would have enjoyed a small sleep in. It took at least 20 minutes to check us in and unfortunately the chap at the desk was not very talkative or helpful. In conclusion I would say you definately get what you pay for. It was a comfortable bed but wouldnt recommend this for longer than a couple of days.
D. R.I’m rating this as 5 purely because for £38 a night as I paid it was great. I stopped 2 nights. The location is a doddle to get to and from the tube (which is mega cheap even to go all over London) and I found the staff friendly enough. The shower was spot on also!
I went to the Pearl Jam gig at the O2 and getting there from Stratford was really easy. There’s a few more things coming up at the O2 and I’ll definitely stay here again.
I can only put the bad reviews down to unrealistic expectations for the low price. So many people expect the world at a discounted price, if you want that, look elsewhere. If you’re happy with a good location, a clean enough room and a roof over your head, this is the place.

What let it down was the very small breakfast portion and you had to pay for WiFi usage.

S. L.A bit complicated. I stayed here two nights. First night was in the interior older set of rooms. They are REALLY tired old rooms but so was I so it didnt much matter. Bedding was clean and bathroom was okay despite cracked sink. Second night switched to outdoor access rooms. This was much newer and actually not bad and although the mattress was pretty worn it was comfortable enough.
"Full English breakfast" included includes fried ham, egg, beans, and some manner of sausage that was dubious. Pretty good all in all. Theres boiled eggs, toast, cereal, yogurt. Cant complain actually. Location is beside university so area is pretty beat up. Bus to Statford is great. Lastly, be sure and book online. The first room i got was last minute. I booked for about £35 but they were charging £160 at counter. All in all for a single quick stay its cheap and relatively clean. Would i bring the wife and kids? Nope. Cafeteria breakfast popular with the working men

Stratford station is near this hotel, you can walk this but there is a public bus that goes
from the station to the front door of the hotel ! that was really good. There are a few supermarkets very close to the hotel. This hotel is a great deal. There are stories that the personell are phishing for your CC number but if you book online, your credit card will never be needed by the staff.

A. A.It's okay, I put 3 only for continental breakfast, but the rooms are small and WiFi is not free. You have to pay 2 pounds for 24h of using WiFi, but there's no signal in some rooms. You have to sit in the lobby to use WiFi.

Readily accessible by buses, taxis,etc. Nearby big Station is the Stratford for National, International Railways & the Local Undergrond & Overground Trains! Bus Station is also a big junction of many buses going in different directions!

A. K. (.Oh Yeah. Very nice location of the hotel. It's right next to the atherton leisure centre. I see it when im in the gym and that's very nice. It seems very good from outside and the prices are reasonable in Forest Gate anyway. Loxcal shops around and a quick taxi service available named A1 CARS FOREST GATE.
Bus stop is right in front too. Buses go both ways toward Stratford and Ilford as well.

R.You pay for what you get, but ths excelled our expectations, rooms are very quiet, good size, a little bit dated/90s, but great position to East London/Stratford, only a mile down road from Olympic Park and Stratford station for underground, lovely breakfast room, free secure parking which is a massive bonus in ths part of the capital, friendly staff who are very attentive, we booked fairly last min and for a family room (1 dbl and 1 single, 3 ppl) was only £175 for 2 nights, would definitely use them again.

Lo positivo, a 15 minutos (si llega) del metro y un centro comercial.
Nuestra Habitacion con cama boble mejorable, una almohada pequeña x persona y sábanas (ni cojines ni mantas adicionales) tv pequeña, sin nevera, eché mucho en falta un termostato,pues tenian la calefacción puesta todo el día y pasamos hasta calor.
En el baño 2 toallas(fatal, ni de cara,ni para los pies...) y 2 pastillas de jabón pequeñas, el desayuno compuesto de leche café "zumos"(agua colorante te y azúcar) cereales, tostadas jamon de york y queso, y en la zona caliente te preparaban bacon, beans huevos y salchichas.
Lo peor sin lugar a dudas el trato, tanto en recepcion como en el desayuno.
En fin si viajas a este hotel, ve con el plan hecho, no esperes amabilidad ah!!!y no te salgas de la calle principal pues las aledañas dan miedo.
