Reviews of Falcon Hotel
Great public house lady member of staff made me particularly welcome as did 2 or 3 of the regulars.
The lady staff member behind the bar even gave me 4 new face masks one of which was a face shield
Another lady helped me to fix my Android phone, I was extremely grateful.
I heartily reccomend
this pub for a visit.
Good ales
Food served up to a reasonable time in the afternoon.
Great service !!
The falcon hotel was very good they couldnt do enough for us they set up the room we had for my sons birthday he was in shock there were about 20 of us my grand children stopped at the hotel and my son and his partner they slept well the rooms were unusual and comfortable my son snd daughter in law stayed for 1 night and my grand children and partners stayed for 3 nights fri to monday they had good time there
A small traditional pub with a cosy feel, friendly landlady conference rooms at the back for private functions, haven't experienced the hotel side.
Had an excellent Christmas lunch yesterday. Service and food was really good and very good value for the money.
Falcon Hotel don't need any words. It's just friendliest place I ever been surround Peterborough area. Thanks to people who runs this place for time I can spend with them.
We were looking for a place to stay overnight near to Peterborough and our party consisted of two dogs, myself and my son. I stumbled across the falcon on internet and booked a room. The hotel appears to be a 16th century coaching in and was just off the high street in Whittlesey. It’s a large building occupying a prominent position in a quiet part of town.
On entering the building we were greeted by a lovely lady who checked us in and told us where our room was, the room (room4) is a huge room with a king size bed and a single plus a settee a huge old fashioned wardrobe and various other dark and old fashion furniture. All very clean and presentable. The en-suite was also clean with fresh towels and some liquid hand soap no shower gel though.
Tea and coffee making facilities in room
My only issue was the door lock was very poor and needs attention.
Colin the owner served us a huge fried breakfast at 6.30 as we had an early start
Unfortunately he served us some instant coffee which was the worst I’ve ever tasted
Apart from that this place is charming and excellent value at £75 per night for two adults two dogs and a decent breakfast. Would I recommend... yes certainly for a cheap stopover. Had it not been for the door lock and coffee five stars.
I have recently had an Afternoon Tea and a Sunday carvery from the Falcon. The afternoon tea was fresh, plentiful and delicious, great variety and fantastic value for money. The carvery was amazing. So many vegetables to choose from and cooked to perfection. I cannot recommend enough
Hotel is a tired in places but we had 2 very comfortable nights here. Rooms had all we needed, clean bedding and towels, comfortable beds and warm showers. The staff were accomodating and friendly. Breakfast was homemade and plentiful. All in all, we would be happy to stay again and support a small business.
Fantastic carvery staff friendly, helpful, and polite
Great Carvery roast today 👍👍 Nice Guinness too...
Lovely Sunday afternoon listening to rock n roll disco and pagan doing 3sets in the courtyard, Colin the landlord Is always happy
Basic B&B accommodation in a pub. The room and ensuite shower room were fresh and clean, as were the towels and bed covers, but decor very dated and furnishings shabby. Mattress was uncomfortable, but luckily there was a spare bed, and I used the duvet to add extra padding. We went down to the bar for a few drinks, but our evening was spoiled by a group of rowdy and quite drunk fisherman from Birmingham who started to make racist comments, in the presence of a child they had with them. We quickly left, and were astonished and upset that they not only felt able to make such remarks so freely, but also that they weren't pulled up on it by the member of staff behind the bar, who actually laughed along with them! Breakfast next morning was okay and the young man on duty was very friendly. Overall not great, but okay if you just want a cheap stopover in the area.
Very nice food the workers are always polite
One of the most amazing places I’ve ever been to. The staff, customers very friendly and super welcoming. I met a lot of great people there.
Practical place. Very dated building but well maintained and very clean. Very cosy with good linen, soft towels, tea, biscuits, etc which not many hotels provide at this price. Very friendly staff. Car park with cctv. Just note there’s a weekly rock party so be prepared to dance till late or have some earbuds ready lol 😂
Would love to have given a better rating. But after passing through recently and stopping for food (which was very lovely 4*) we witneesed some astonishing behaviour from a young lady toward other staff. Show that one bad apple will lose you money.
Fantastic people who keep to there word not like local pub no phone calls left messages keep the excellent service up we all hope u pull through this mad world y because u deserve it well done
Great local pub and lovely staff. Old building with not too much renovation. Rooms nice with hot shower and comfy beds.
This is the best location for your get licensed schooling.. Best budget overnight Inn.. Ask for the mgr for a discounted price..
On route from the Cairngorns to Dover we stopped here. We had a family room, with all the neccesities, but a little bit old fashioned. An update would make this hotel really a nice place to stay.
I absolutely love the falcon, I frequent the place regularly and you couldn't wish for better people to be around. Great company, great beer and even better food. Good bless the falcon
Colin is a brilliant host . Always enjoy my stays here
The barmaid was very pleasant
We ordered some food which seemed to take for ever to arrive and it wasn't even busy.
Very good food. Good customer service. Very Friendly atmosphere.
A nice friendly pub,
We went to The Falcon to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the parents of some friends, and the surprise wedding of the friends. It was a good sized room, friendly staff, well suited to the purpose.
Friendly staff but our room was pretty poor to be honest, very dated, various things didn't work, the drains smelt, etc.
Lovely place warm and welcoming and food is amazing all bedrooms are ensuite bathrooms . Dogs are welcome in the bar :) staff are lovely and friendly
A really old pub with nice letting rooms. A bit tired inside, but clean. Staff friendly and breakfast was great.
Good alround pub, nice selection of drinks and they do a carvary on a Sunday
Took ages to get our drinks, carvery has a poor selection of vegetables and Yorkshire puddings were burnt then when it came to dessert they had ran out of most of them so left without having one
The staff were all very friendly. The food was really lovely as well the only thing that let down was that the coca cola was severed from a plastic bottle but that was it
Went for Sunday dinner. Incredibly nice staff, clean, spacious and light. However, disappointed at choice of veg.
Thank you for organising our family's wake for us
Nothing was to much bother, buffet was spot on
Would recommend 100%
Nice size, nice atmosphere. Parking at rear and good selection of drinks
Though old property, the owners really make an effort to provide the best service they can. Pleasant stay
Food only just good enough!!! But the prices are excellent !!!!!! For the landlord over £4 a glass of mediocre beer,
Was a comfortable place to stay the night, with a nice cooked breakfast.
