Visited last night for the first time in years. Fab spacious interior which still felt cosy with the wood burner. Husband had the steak, I had the pork belly. Both delicious. Staff nice too so we will most definitely be back soon. Oh, and the Christmas tree is amazing!

Gail and her team were absolutely amazing!!! I visit Lincolnshire to visit my mum who lives local and found this little gem on Booking.com. Wish i had found it before as Gail and her staff were always smiling, very attentive, caring and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Well, all we can say to you Gail, is, if we could give you 10 stars we would. We will be back in January and cannot wait to see you all again and enjoy your lovely home cooked food. Came here for a wedding reception and stay. Staff were excellent, polite and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast is sensational 😋. The rooms are spacious and clean. Just a couple of hooks for used towels and a shelf for toiletries in the bathroom would make it perfect.

My first visit and very impressed. Fantastic decor throughout and friendly attentive staff. We had the Sunday carvery which was reasonably priced with 3 meats to choose from and a feast of sides. The food was all of wonderful quality, fresh and delicious. The chocolate brownie and ice cream my husband had for dessert was a generous portion and so tasty I had to help him eat it!

Absolutely delightful experience. Great food, great servicing and ambiance. It’s changed since we last visited, making for a lovely ambience. My steak and ale pie was to die for and the kids finished their whole meal - which is something new. Great outside spaces and kids play area. Highly recommended.

Recently reopened and refurbished after previously being know as Baskervilles for many years. Very nice appearance both outside and inside - But mind you try to enter by the correct door! 😄 The staff were very helpful and cheerful. Menu was varied and interesting and they do offer an early bird option some evenings and days. Our meal was great in appearance and taste. However, due to the hard walls and hard floor combined and all dining tables being in one unbroken space together. The experience was somewhat noisy, given we were there on a busy Saturday evening. It was the only negative. I think I'd try to choose a quieter time again.

Sunday lunch is a carvery. Not normally a fan of those, but it was excellent. The vegetables were fresh and not over cooked and the meat tender. Desserts ok, not as good as mains. Decor in the restaurant lets it down a little. Excellent selection of beers and other drinks, and service was friendly and excellent. Would definitely go again.

4 of us dropped in for an evening meal on a Tuesday. The welcome from the girl behind the bar was outstanding. A table for 4 was no trouble. The beer and food was very good. The choice of gins was good and the recommendations marvellous.

Despite arriving on the night before lockdown Black Horse went out of their way to help us. We were on an essential trip for my brothers funeral and everyone there went out of their way with kindness at a difficult time for us all. Thank you Alan and staff.

OMG we have just had our daughters wedding on 24 August 2019 at the Black Horse. This was their first wedding reception after their take over from the Baskervilles, it certainly won’t be their last. If you are planning a wedding/function this is the place to go. The venue, staff, food etc is OUTSTANDING I cannot praise them enough. Special thanks goes to Kerry who from the start to when we book the day right through to the wedding day has been magnificent. I could go on forever praising all who made this day at the Black Horse so fantastic. Anyone who reads this and is thinking to book this venue or even just go for a meal you will not be disappointed but amazed. Once again best professional staff, best food, best venue. Many many thanks.

We had a nice meal although service was very slow, a 45 minute wait. A party of 16 came in after us and got served first. Assume they had pre-ordered. Staff apologised due to staff shortage in the kitchen. One of us had the steak pie, which was very nice, but a small portion of potato and veg. We wouldn't have realised apart from last month when we visited and had the same meal, portions were much bigger. We didn't have dessert as we didn't have time.

Nothing positive other than the young lady that took the time to ask if we were booked in! Even thou staff could see she was busy serving the bar ! Choose to walk away . She advised us walk thru and a member of staff will take our drink order and seat us PERFECT! NOT to met by a younger lady wasn’t really interested think we were a convince to her ! Then to be taken right to the bottom in left corner I laughed ! Really the place is empty we are 2 people your not sitting us here !!!!!!! To be told well the table you were booked in on as salt all over it really do your job clean it 😡😡😡😡we were 20 mins waiting to be served with a drink if the girls weren’t interested in talking between themselves at the bar we may have been served earlier it took the young lady from the bar to come over and ask ! 5 mins later we would have walked out . Won’t be going back which is sad really we went Father’s Day last minute sat in restaurant was lovely . Felt like a canteen in the other area . Tables needed a good clean far to many big tables seating 8/10 not enough of 2 seats only to side we noticed 4 tables for 2 . Table’s in canteen need covering it was one of the worst experience I have had on a Sunday carvery. To finish off the broccoli was brown / yellow been sat far to long frozen mini roasts and a young carver that really didn’t know how to serve you other than ask what meat !! He’s saying it’s his first day good luck young man hopefully you get the support you need I certainly didn’t see guidance.

Pleasant staff and food okish though nothing special hadn't had a mixed grill for a number of years and if I ever decide to have another one it won't be at the black horse as my steak was cooked perfectly, but sadly the pork was overcooked as was the gammon and the chop, oh and the chips were okay.

Lovely little village pub doing your classic selection of pub grub. Nice modern interior with a half and half restaurant bar. Staff are friendly although sometimes can be a little busy on peak nights. The food is very pleasant and the portion sizes are great. The price is very competitive and eating out here won't break the bank. I've visited a couple of times and will certainly be back in the future. Also of note, is the lovely events space and rooms. Although I haven't personally tried them, I have friends that report good things.

(Translated) Good kitchen, rooms above the bar well soundproof. Unfortunately, the air conditioning of the restaurant / bar is quite loud and good to hear with the window open. Garden area is very spacious and offers enough tables without each other to look at the plate. (Original) Gute Küche, Zimmer über der Bar gut schallisoliert. Leider ist die Klimaanlage des Restaurants/Bar recht laut und gut bei geöffnetem Fenster zu hören. Gartenbereich ist sehr großzügig angelegt und bietet ausreichend Tische ohne sich gegenseitig auf den Teller zu schauen.
