Bathroom/room was tired looking decor wise, but bed was really comfy. Staff were very helpful and attentive.
Slightly farther out than expected but would still consider booking again as for people travelling by train it is really handy.

Great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts were excellent. I really enjoyed my stay here. Only negative was no air conditioning but for what the hotel is advertised as it's great. I would definitely stay there again.

The room was clean and fresh, and overall it was quite, even with the window open. We did have a small issue in the bathroom, the shower got hot, while in use, and the sink plug lever end was missing,so difficult to pull on to release the water .we stayed with family in two rooms, not sure why we paid two different price's, one almost a 100 pound more. Also on the morning of departure, we packed the car, and went for a walk, we return ed to the room, just to use the toilet, and check we had not forgotten anything, and the cleaners were in there, we had not handed the key cards back in.

I think some of the reviews may be outdated or too harsh. This isn't a Hilton, and doesn't claim to be. What it is, is a decent budget hotel.
Sure, the room and bathroom were tired and could do with a bit of paint. But they were clean, with clean towels, clean bedding, and comfortable. It would be nice to have air conditioning but you get what you pay for, and I was given a desk fan which was nice.
Speaking of staff, they were brilliant. No complaints at all, around anytime to deal with issues and friendly service.
My main complaint would be the lack of a plug socket by the headboard of the bed. I think it's fair to say nowadays people like to check their phone before going to sleep and have the phone be the alarm, having to put it on the desk on the other side of the room is inconvenient.
But aside from that it was exactly what I needed. Cheap, serviceable, clean, and comfortable bed.
Actually as I write this one other complaint! The WiFi signal in the room was very intermittent. When connected it was fast, but getting the connection was 50/50. I wouldn't feel confident using their WiFi for essential business meetings on laptop in the room.

Basic double room. Slept reasonably well. I've stayed in ibis hotels before so I kind of knew what to expect. The building itself is a little dated, so don't expect a very modern room! My bathroom had a faint smell of cigarette smoke. Overall good location and the room is fine, but it's just budget.

We stayed here for a cheeky little getaway... kids free night, to celebrate the other half's birthday.
this hotel was great 5 mins from the station, and only 10 mins from York city centre. staff were very friendly and professional.
the room was very clean, no noise etc. we were also allowed to leave our bags until we left to get the train later that night...
definitely staying again.... 5 🌟
