Brighton housekeeping is an excellent company, Richard is incredibly organised and keeps you informed promptly at all times. Our cleaner is wonderful, she does an excellent job and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of the work. Cannot recommend them highly enough.

I have been using the services of Brighton Housekeeping for almost 4 months and can highly recommend them. We have an elderly relative with cognitive impairement living with us who finds change and new people difficult to adjust to. Time and effort was taken into consideration by the company in ensuring an appropriate person was assigned to us. I've been a regular weekly customer for over a year now and am extremely satisfied with the service that Brighton Housekeeping provides. I have the same cleaner every week, who does a fantastic and thorough job (thanks Mona!), and who has been taking appropriate COVID precautions since returning to work (mask, gloves, etc). Management is prompt and communicative if there are any upsets to the normal schedule or replacements. Pricing is good value and priced on a flat per job basis. Mixed feelings about this company. Ultimately, they were unable to provide a regular reliable cleaning service which, given the high price being paid, meant we parted ways. They changed policy shortly after we signed up and do not now offer replacement cleaners when the regular cleaner is unable to attend (sickness/holidays etc), which was not acceptable to us given the high price. The cleaner assigned to us was unable to attend the third visit, with us informed the day before, and the company owner was quite clear that he could not say this would be a 'one off'. The limited cleaning we did receive before cancelling the contract was satisfactory albeit not exceptional. Pros: well organised with excellent communication; seeks to provide regular cleaner. Cons: expensive (rate circa £25 p/h); not able to offer cover for cleaner sickness/holidays. Postscript: I see the owner has replied which is fair enough although I sought to offer a fair and balanced review ('mixed feelings'), which I think will be clear to all readers. The offer of an alternative date on a bank holiday was not a reasonable offer, nor particularly helpful given the need for cleaning prior to the weekend, but regardless the key point in the decision not to continue with the service was the very clear position of the company that they will not cover the absence of a cleaner and that there will be ongoing issues with absence, I quote: "it's very unlikely this will be a one off so with that in mind you may wish to find an alternative service". Given the high price paid for this service that just wasn't good enough for us. If others are prepared to accept such terms then that's their choice. As for the comment that the service was 'great', this came about after the first visit, which was indeed perfectly fine, and where I was also wishing to be enthusiastic given the owner had been very helpful in arranging the cleaning in the first place. As I said in my review, one of the good things about this company is the excellent organistion and communication. The second visit was actually not so 'great', really only satisfactory (areas were missed and others not completed that well), and I intended to gently raise this with the cleaner myself on the third visit (that never happened) rather than report it to her boss. She worked hard in the time she was cleaning, no complaints there at all but perhaps needed to clean for just a little longer to complete the job properly. No biggie but I think describing the cleaning as 'satisfactory to good' rather than great would be the fairest assessment. Again, for the premium price, I'd hoped it would be consistently excellent tbh.

Brighton Housekeeping were able to send a team Saturday morning on the week I first inquired, finishing the job just 30 minutes before a horde of relatives descended on me to visit. We have owned our apartment in Brighton for 13 years and used two other companies for our cleaning - both started well but became unreliable. Richard gives the best service that we have ever had. He always replies quickly and gives us a date. Mona, our cleaner, does a really good job every time and when I open the front door I find everything left immaculately . I can't clean like that and I am picky! I also don't have the bother of making sure that I have the correct money because I can transfer payment easily. I can't recommend Brighton Housekeeping more highly.

Shortly after we moved back to Brighton in April 2016, we contacted Richard to arrange a weekly clean of our flat. Having had a positive prior experience of Brighton Housekeeping, they were our first choice. We have not been disappointed! We particularly value having the same cleaners every week who do a superb job with both the cleaning and the ironing. We really appreciate the cleaners' attention to detail and that they seem to treat the flat, as if it were their own. Prior to moving back to Brighton, we used a cleaning service out of the area that was very mediocre. If anything this has made us appreciate the service that Brighton Housekeeping provides even more. Brighton Housekeeping have been cleaning for me for about a year and I am more than happy with their service. So nice to come home to a spotless flat once a week. Moreover, communication is excellent and their staff have insurance, holiday pay, sick pay and pension contributions. This was important to me when choosing a company; cleaning is a tough task and too many are underpaid and not looked after properly. Also, they clean so well.

It is assuring to know, even if your regular cleaner for some reason is unable to come, that you will have a cleaner. I happen to prefer a male cleaner and this was not a problem. We've tried several local cleaning companies over the years and, without question, Brighton Housekeeping rises to the top of the heap. Their staff are polite, self-motivated, great at taking on what you ask them to do, and there are never any hurt feelings or dispute, which, sadly, hasn't always been the case with some of our former house-keepers. Our regular cleaner, Juan, is thorough, consistent and trustworthy, plus he's a very nice guy. Our home is the cleanest it's ever been since we found Richard and his company. It's a relief to know that, as long as we're in Brighton, we won't be needing to look for a new house-keeping firm again.
