Honest, reliable and professional, can’t rate John highly enough! Repaired our boiler at very short notice and fitted a gas hob all at very reasonable rates. Happy with the work, happy with the cost and very happy to recommend!

Boiler Issue no hot water, John arrived same day, diagnosed the problem and ordered the part needed which was fitted and back up and running within 48 hours. John made time for my distress call on the same day. He visited my home and inspected the boiler found the root cause. He cleaned up the mess that was there inside ( which he didn't have to do and others before him did not bother to do) and gave me recommendations for which parts to change. Just to give context before John visited my premises atleast 3 other service engineers (all assumed to be very busy visited a few days later and did a bare bones inspection) had visited and gave a recommendation to change the whole boiler. John was quite confident about the root cause and highly recommended me change just the affected parts finally costing me just a fraction of the cost of a whole boiler replacement. He is very friendly, pleasant, on time and willing to logically talk through the various options available. Overall a very honest individual and excellent workmanship. I will be taking his services if needed in future and will highly recommend him to anyone in the locality.

As our system as a whole couldn't keep up, we had quite a few services done by John: - Survey - Calculations (radiator sizing) - Supply and install 2 new 4 column radiators, adapt existing pipework to fit. Including drain down and re-filling system with new corrosion inhibitor - Test and balance entire heating system - Moving spare radiators - Replace existing boiler condensate pipework. As we were very impressed with the professionalism and flexible attitude of John, we were happy to book his second visit after receiving his advice what can else be done to further improve a life span of our boiler (namely, installation of new ADEY magnaclean Micro system filter and and installation of 15mm electrolytic scale inhibitor). Once again, we were more then happy with how the service went and also the price we ended up with was very competetive. We would highly recommend Down Home Heath company to others searching for a competent and trustworthy heat engineer.

John combines years of professional experience with a passion for delivering excellent customer service; the end result for the customer is top quality workmanship and total peace of mind. Having just moved in to a new property I was dismayed to find that the shower was barely usable, and sent almost as much water down the back of the bath as it emitted from the head. Not only that, but also the light fitting in the kitchen had been installed using incorrect fixings and was practically dangling from the ceiling. I needed help, and fast. In just a couple of hours' work, John had completely replaced the shower unit and reinstalled the screen to provide a watertight fit. He swapped out the fixings for the light fitting, which is now securely attached to the ceiling, and where he encountered small "snags" that were not necessarily part of the main job, he also resolved those. What really struck me though was his friendly and professional approach - I have 100% confidence that I will be returning to Downend Home Heat for any future work that is needed. Thanks John! Excellent service! My boiler needed servicing and I had issues with my radiators. John serviced the boiler very efficiently and my radiators now actually work in each room. He recommended further work that could be undertaken to enhance and lengthen the life of my (rather old) boiler, I appreciated this advice and he will be coming back to power flush the system.

I would definitely use this company again, I had thought we needed an electric shower fitted to resolve our poor flow & regulation of temperature from our existing mains water shower, but after inspecting John saved us money by suggesting a pressure reducing valve under the bath taps, which not only worked a treat, but saved us a lot of money.

John has visited our home in Frampton Cotterell a few times now for different jobs. Each time he has texted us to let us know when he will be arriving. First a boiler service, he spent a considerable amount of time checking the system and rebalancing. I asked him to change the mains installed smoke alarms which he sourced and fitted with no mess another day. Then just a few weeks later our shower leaked through the ceiling. He came round very quickly, found the problem straight away and then proceeded to remove the tiles, clean them up and retile, grout and seal. His quality of work is excellent and very good value for money. As a final plus he takes card payments and issues an electronic invoice. I won’t be looking for anyone else now when it comes to gas, plumbing or electrical work on our home.
