Great service from start to finish. I have a Vaillant boiler and the heating wasn’t working, Mark came out and detected the issue straight away. The diverter valve needed replacing and Mark checked that I was ok with the price/ work to be carried out before ordering the part. Once confirmed, he went to collect the part, returned and fixed the boiler, all within a hour. After fixing the boiler, Mark kindly checked a few of the radiators that I had issues with. Also, long after he left, I had a glitch with my thermostat, I contacted Mark and he talked me through how to resolve the issue over the phone. He answered all of my many questions. Top guy, very efficient and genuine. Like many others, I also spoke to Andrea who was polite and friendly, no surprises when invoice came through as expectation was managed. Boiler probs and no hot water I tried to reset/restart boiler to no avail so called A&R boilers who sent Mark out within a few hours - he called before arrival letting us know he was on route and found a part had gone so had to order a new one. He managed to source a part (they had 1 left ) so he drove straight over to get it and fit it the same day. This was no small job either as we have an old Worcester boiler which is in a cupboard under the stairs in a confined space which didn’t give him much room for manoeuvre but he managed it. He also found a pipe had a crack in it so picked up the part the following morning and had that fixed quickly. Job well done so big thanks to Mark and A&R

Great experience with this company! Not only did they come out the same day when our boiler broke down, but they then returned a week later after we were still having issues. Mark was especially thorough, waiting around to observe the boiler and check it was working on his second visit. I'm extremely grateful to Mark who came out to diagnose and repair my overheating electric boiler. No joke, an accidental fire started in my kitchen, with flames and black smoke looking to spread. Hearing my shout, Mark came to the kitchen, asking me to get out, went and turned the main switch in the consumer unit off, opened all the windows and doors, and started to tackle the fire himself...his quick thinking and action prevented a disaster. I honestly don't know what would have happen if Mark didn't happen to be there on the day. He is a hero and performed above and beyond his duties. He then returned after a few days to finish the diagnose and ordered the failing sensor, and returned again with Tony to finish the job. My boiler is up and running again and I'm a more than just a happy customer. Well done A+R Central Heating for having an excellent team, and for the wonderful customer care throughout.

Mark did a great job on our Viessmann boiler. We needed an emergency call out as our hot water stopped working, a nightmare as we just got home with our newborn. After a combination of no shows, bad advice and people who didn’t know what to do I approached A+R due to the good reviews and I’m very glad I did. Good service, fixed quickly and efficiently... but beware it is very expensive. I was quoted £220 for repairs with parts, so I was unprepared for the bill of £417.60 (£150 labour plus VAT for half an hour max, £198 plus VAT for new fan).

Had boiler installed with minimal delay had a few issues with it leaking and knocking so engineers came back a few times prompt and call centre proactive. Overall boiler has good energy rating. If hot taps on in kitchen it will affect shower though.

Very good customer service following a leak with our gas boiler. After ringing around several other plumbers that did not respond to mobile phone calls (one did call back the following day to say send a text message) I got through to A+R Central Heating & Boiler Repairs and they sent an engineer round the same day. He did not have the correct part to fix the boiler but came back the following day and carried out the repair. I was kept fully informed by email of when the engineer would visit.

My combi boiler was flashing an error code and wasn’t responding to the reset button. Called A&R’s office to leave a message, and Tony rang me back very quickly. He knew what the error code meant and said he’d make sure to bring a new PCB when he came later this afternoon. Both Tony and his son, Miles, were very friendly yet polite and professional. I *loved* the fact that Tony recorded his work with his mobile as training videos - great idea! Great service from Tony. The engineer who ordered the parts was here for 2 hours and didn't really know what was wrong with my boiler. Straight away, Tony figured out what the issue was (the boiler had overheated cause I'd turned all but 1 of my radiators off). Very happy with Mark the engineer as he did a brilliant job, last time my boiler stopped working I used a different company and they were rubbish but this engineer was much more knowledgeable. Although my boiler needed a new part that he did not have as my boiler is over 20 years old he managed to get one the same day and came back to fix the boiler and its working beautifully now. He was polite and wore a facemask all through his visit, so felt very safe. Also the cost was reasonable and less than I thought it would be. I would be happy to use them again as a new boiler is definitely on the cards in he near future

Contacted A+R regarding a boiler repair. Tony was the engineer sent to assist with the repairs. Even before the engineer attended the property, he contacted me asking about the issue and model of the boiler. This is something I like to see as it means they want to get the job done quickly and not muck around. Tony was very friendly and provided a very professional service. The problem was identified in no time and the part for the repair was ordered and installed the next day. Tony and A+R kept me well informed throughout the repair and also emailed me the repair quote before hand. So no surprises when it comes to the final bill. Mark came out today to repair my boiler in Old Trafford. He was polite, his service was fantastic. He was able to get the job completed quickly and I couldn't be happier with the service - minimum hassle and quick turnaround from the breakdown to the resolution. Tony and the ladies at customer service were very helpful also. They answered all my questions kept me in the loop and made sure I got sorted after hours even though I had to reschedule. My experience with Tony from A&R has been very good. He was professional and didn't seem fazed by the boiler (we have a back boiler which they don't make anymore) and the gas valve which needed replacing. He gave me a quote the first time we spoke and he was very much spot on. He then quickly booked a repair visit and we were good to go. Great job! It was a call out appointment as I noticed a small leak from the boiler. I was able to get an appointment very fast, Lloyd called 30 min before arrival, quickly identified leak and performed full check up. Called them as needed quick boiler repair/change on the weekend and their website mentioned emergency repairs. The office advised that someone will call me back soon to arrange details, or if they cannot come out on the same day they'll let me know, but the operator said she'll be able to send someone out... After a few hours I called again, they just repeated what they've said before and submitted a new request. At 5 I assumed nothing will happen on that day, however I haven't heard back from them. Maybe I should have found someone else then, but hoped that they'll be able to come out sooner than others as they suggested. Called them up on Sunday again, when again they submitted a new request. Then an hour later an engineer called saying that they can only come on Monday, they said around lunchtime. Sure, we said yes despite the completely rip off price, as at that stage we tried to call others, but no one could come sooner, some recommended engineers said week's wait. I contacted the engineer at 2 on Monday asking when is he likely to come as promised lunchtime. Then he said 4. In the end arrived at 6 - clearly no chance to repair or arrange a new fitting for ASAP. The diagnosis was almost as much as we could figure out without much understanding of boilers and the engineer could not give useful advice about considering different boilers at all. And then they quoted crazy for a really cheap, basic boiler. I'm not sure where the good reviews are from, but wouldn't bother with this company. Prices are rip off, service/communication is not trustworthy, engineers not too experienced/knowdgeable. Lucky that I'm working from home currently otherwise would have wasted my whole afternoon for nothing. We went with another company in the end.

Had a problem which was swiftly resolved within two visits. They are very communicative with friendly engineers who are more than happy to fit in around your busy lifestyle. Have used this company a year ago to repair a Gledhill Boilermate. They were success where 3 other companies had failed. Few companies will touch Gledhill Boilermate. The Boilermate stopped working again (a year later) due to a different fault. They came out reasonably quickly, had the part and repaired it. The repair wasn’t cheap but was what I expected for a new circuit board, clock repair and labour charge.

We have a super old boiler that stopped working I called A+R and made an appointment at a time that suited me for an engineer to come along and take a look. Lloyd came and he was great! It did take a few days to get sorted, with a few visits, as the boiler needed quite a few parts and because of its age these are hard to find and take a longer time to arrive but Lloyd was on it all the way with great communication on the status of the parts etc. He explained everything honestly and clearly for us. He was very professional and explained every step of the repair, what was needed and how much everything was going to be. We also requested a full service and certification too as we’re going to be moving soon and Lloyd provided this with no worries. We now have hot water and our heating back! Thanks Lloyd and A+R.

Quick at getting someone out to look at the problem, didn't exactly fix all the issues I had but kept the boiler going upto my replacement. Staff were friendly and helpful. (I would however query the draining of the boiler via the prv as that seemed to cause water to feed back into my inner wall due to the excess flow as it came loose and subsequently had dripping downstairs in the window, the prv also remained semi loose and pressure dropped constantly after a few days) warning to people to get your boiler checked out regularly and make sure things are installed properly.

Fantastic Service. Boiler broke down on Saturday night. On Sunday I contacted British Gas Homeserve who I have had a contract with for many years. They could only offer to come and fix the boiler at the beginning of March - 3 weeks away. I had also been told by them previously that the cause of the breakdown, a known fault - a worn bearing in the fan - could only be fixed temporarily by 'greasing it up' since they could not get the part which was obsolete and that I would soon need to replace the boiler. I contacted A+R on Sunday. An engineer, Marius, arrived on Monday morning. He agreed that the fan was the problem. He then sourced a new fan at a supplier in Bury, 20 miles away, drove there, returned and replaced it in the boiler. we then discussed whether I should soon need to replace the boiler in the near future, since it is about 20 years old. I was reluctant to do so due to logistical reasons of repositioning. He advised that the boiler seemed fine and there should be no immediate need for replacement. The boiler is now fine and working better than ever, since the previous botched job was affecting the efficiency. Fantastic service. I would be happy to recommend A-R to anyone with boiler problems. Marius, the engineer, was friendly, helpful and courteous at all times and careful to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions. Simply excellent, everyone in the local area should be using them. I am the landlord of a property, and my estate agent sent their maintenance people round to check the faulty boiler and they said it would be 540 + VAT for the parts and labour, and could take 3-5 working days to get the parts. I called Tony @ A+R as a new customer that morning, and within an hour I'd had a callback where he explained that he'd go and fix the problem that same day!! True to his word, he fixed the problem, and didn't need ANY of the parts I had been quoted by my estate agent!! He was in a prime position to charge a few hundred, but he was totally 100% honest. Impressive, professional service. Lloyd came around on the day we called the company to begin work on the boiler. Soon identified the issue with it, having talked me through it step by step and explained his decision making. After realising it needed more time and parts he came back first thing Monday morning and kept working on all aspects of the boiler, including servicing it all within his call-out hours. In the end Lloyd had fixed and sorted more aspects than we realised needed attending to and never gave up on the boiler despite multiple set backs. Now works a treat, and we'll be using A+R again if needed.

We have had an annual service and repair contract with A&R for about ten years now, which is just as well as a variety of problems have developed with our boiler in that time. Tony is an excellent engineer and has repaired the boiler and replaced several components over the years (free of charge of course). He is a very pleasant gentleman and is happy to explain what has happened and what he has done to rectify the problems. Highly recommended. EDIT: Another problem yesterday evening (28.1.17). No heating and no hot water, so I called A&R. Tony called back and asked me a few questions, which I could answer quite easily. From that information, he was able to diagnose the problem - a faulty pump in the boiler - which proved to be correct when he visited this lunchtime. He quickly replaced the pump (free, under the service and maintenance contract) and the boiler is once more working perfectly. A masterful engineer!

It's not ideal when your boiler breaks in the middle of January when there is snow outside and your finances are low .. Tony and his team came out to assess it on the same day we called and worked tirelessly to do everything to revive our old Ravenheat. Phoned this company just over 24hrs ago to get someone to come out and have a look at our boiler, we had heating, but no hot water. We got a call within 30mins from a guy called Tony, he asked me the Brand and model of the boiler and what the problem was. I explained the prob, told him the brand but we had no idea what model it was so Tony asked us to send him a pic of the boiler. within 1/2 hour of sending the PIC Tony was back on the phone and said he said he knew the boiler, had ordered the part required and would be at our home the next day to fit it. Well, Tony has just been and not only did he sort out the hot water problem, he also fixed a problem we had with the timer control. A really nice and pleasant guy, he explained everything that he was doing which gave us great confidence in his ability to solve our problem. Why 5 out of 5 stars? - My boiler was actually fixed - the boiler repair man came the same day (within 2 hrs actually) of me calling A+R to request their services - the boiler repair man came again the next day with new replacement parts that were needed for the boiler - He was friendly, polite and very professional - I could pay using my bank card All in all, the service was excellent Now contrast this with the 2 seperate boiler repair guys who tried to fix our boiler - They could n't fix it - It took 2 working days for them to come and visit - It took about a week just to get the replacement parts After 2 months of having to put up with a faulty boiler and on and off heating, in desperation I called A+R after reading their reviews. Believe me it was such a relief to finally get the boiler sorted one and for all If u live in Oldham or surroundiong areas just ask for Tony. I recently did some practical training with Tony Morgan (the main engineer of A&R Boilers) as part of my ACS Training Portfolio . I had previously did some training with another boiler installation/repair company. And the contrast couldn't have been more striking. It was like night and day. Whereas working previously for the other company, i was used more as a General Labourer e.g, passing tools, lifting up floorboards, mixing cement, etc. And the whole installation processes seem to take on "a race against the clock" mentality. Very chaotic. But with Tony, it was the opposite of that. I felt very much part of a team. He included me in every element of any repair/service that was being undertaken. Clearly explaining what was happening during each and every step. So as the days went by I felt a lot more optimistic in becoming a qualified Boiler Engineer as I found my confidence levels growing with each job we attended. Tony makes everything look so easy. His fault finding technique really has to be seen to be believed. Whereas other engineers i have seen tended to rush in, Tony relies on his countless years of experience to take a step back and look for clues as to what the fault actually is. And i think he must have had a 100% success rate in his fault finding evaluations whilst i was there. Indeed, his fault finding technique could even be described as forensic. Because of all his experience he just makes everything look so easy and that really struck home with me. All the customers seemed very pleased with the service he provided. And he would often fix different problems that previous Engineers had failed to do! No matter how trivial. Indeed, the mentoring he provides goes a lot further that just Gas! i found his insights into many things in life to be very insightful. He is obviously a deep thinker and it's amazing how his rationale can be applied to the work in hand. As when you meet him, this is one of the things that strikes you right away. This is a guy who truly thinks outside the box! So in summary, I would have little hesitation in recommending any other lads who are taking their ACS to contact Tony for their Portfolio training. After contacting numerous companies and getting all sorts of waffle and numerous stupid prices I decided to go with A+R to do my portfolio and I'm glad I did. I knew abit about being in the gas trade but the experience and knowledge that Tony showed was second to none. We covered an array of work in quite a busy but organised schedule. Even between job's Tony was explaining/teaching in the van. For anyone who is wanting to do there Portfolio A+R is a must and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. It made my trip from the North East well worth while and at the same time totally complete my portfolio, allowing me to do my ACS exams and passing. Called yesterday in a complete panic as about to close on house sale when boiler broke. Got a call back from Tony and we suspected circuit board. Mine is an old boiler and Tony managed to source the part for the next day and we arranged for it to be fixed at lunchtime . Unfortunately Tony badly injured his hand and rang me on his way to hospital to let me know and arranged to come to me later! He is such a hero. He rang me after he left hospital and turned up with his bandaged wound and fixed my boiler then went off to another job. Dedication or what I can't thank him enough.
