We had ThermaSkirt heating installed throughout an 1880's period Victorian house in Melbourne, Australia 5 years ago. The design and installation process was an absolute pleasure and can only say that the operational system has been even better! We replaced "high efficiency" ducted gas central heating, with ThermaSkirt, consisting of a Baxi modulating Condensing Boiler and the skirtingboard radiators controlled by an 8-zone Heatmiser system, programmable on the thermastats or via their App, which has also been totally reliable also. The skirtingboard radiators blend in beatifully with period skirting elsewhere, the system is silent, saves us heaps on energy bills and radiates such lovely heat throughout some or all of the selected zones. The slate kitchen and bathroom floors also warm up making them nicer to walk on, while some heated towel raise in the bathrooms keep the towels warm and dry. To top it off, sent an email to the UK enquirng about a replacement corrosion inhibitor (needed once each 5-years) and, on the weekend, got an almost immediate reply from Martin Wadsworth MD. Impressive. Thoroughly recommend ThermaSkirt !!

We have recently had ThermaSkirt fitted to our home downstairs. approx. 70m2 open area. Discrete Heat took care of everything and calculated the amount of skirting we would need and provided us with matching MDF skirting for areas without ThermaSkirt so everything matched. On the day the installers arrived on time and completed the job in a day as promised. followed up with a heat output check to ensure all was good. Really pleased with the look of the skirting and we now have a very warm and cosy home. Pic shows ThermaSkirt fitted to our kitchen plinths. Highly recommended company and product. He said the installation was very easy, the instructions clear and given we've had no problems since installation 10 years ago we consider it an unqualified success. We really couldn't have got the same comfort results with conventional radiators.

Looking at ThermaSkirt again for another room in our house. We initially installed it in a large bedroom in our old farmhouse 12 years ago and the system is still working well. It keeps all those dark corners and behind the wardrobe warm and dry which is an achievement in an old property like ours. It also makes placing furniture and pictures easy as it doesn’t take up any wall space. Great.

I had Thermaskirt fitted about 6 weeks ago in the living/dining area of a 1930s semi. I wanted to get rid of the radiators and googled alternatives - Thermaskirt popped up so I investigated. The company were responsive to my initial enquiry and once I had made my decision to go down the Thermaskirt route, they came out and measured up and quoted in good time. The installation was completed in a day and I'm very happy with how neat it looks. It's more expensive to install than radiators but cheaper than underfloor heating; I don't have enough experience yet to compare running costs. I was a little apprehensive when making the decision because none of the other tradespeople I was using for the renovation had heard of Thermskirt. With six weeks experience of it to date, I am very happy with the heat it produces. I still have some slight problems with air in the central heating system, and I have to bleed the radiators regularly, despite having turned them all off several times and just left the Thermaskirt on. And I feel a bit in the middle, between my plumber and Thermaskirt, since I am not a DIY expert and rely on professional opinion. But it's early days and not a major issue for now. Overall, I am very pleased with my decision, the service I received and the performance of the product.

Very happy customer for over a decade. Back in the dim and distant past of 2007, We had an extension built on our very typical 90s housing estate home. We were looking for something like underfloor heating to avoid having bulky radiators limiting how we could lay out the room and with a lot of windows planned in our "garden/dining/family room". Research into the actual underfloor heating options though, ruled it out, going electric on large floor area would cost a fortune to run, going water based would require a huge manifold to transition between the rest of the house on radiators and the extension not, as well as the challenge of an airtight drain lid making a good 1 sq metre in the middle of the floor that would be unheated. We were therefore thrilled and delighted to spot the Thermaskirt stand at a show at the NEC that we'd gone to for inspiration. Met Martin himself on the stand demonstrating it. Perfect solution to the illusion of underfloor, that "radiator free" look. Truly *discrete* heating! Back in those days there wasn't a network of installers, so after a bit of a chat, and taking a lot of leaflets, we arranged for our builder's plumber to site the flow/return pipes in the right place and proceeded to install it ourselves, as only moderately competent DIYers. Installation had clear instructions (though having looked at the website now, the instructions and templates provided now make it even clearer), the simple bracket and push fit solution to go around the room was really very easy. It has kept us contentedly warm in this room now for all that time. I'm just now, after 13 years, doing a bit of a system flush maintenance to remove some silting up that is starting to slow the flow. This task will definitely be assisted by the end-of-the-line return valve having a drain hose connection point on it, and I'm pleased to note that the newer models have a bleed valve on this piece too.

I've been a happy user of the thermaskirt system for many years and recently had a leak. Spares are still available, reasonably priced, and allowed an easy fix. I was even sent a free pack of spare sealing rings. Great service. I'm a very happy user! Update: After some changes to the system plumbing I found that I had developed a small leak from a thermostat. After asking them about the price of a replacement part I was contacted very quickly and told that a spares kit would be sent to me free of charge. I am astonished at the level of customer service Discrete Heat provide. Problems can happen with any system but the way these are dealt with tells me what sort of company I would prefer to deal with. I could not recommend DiscreteHeat higher. If you are looking for a skirting heating system then do yourself a favour and contact these people. You won't find better service & support anywhere!

Discrete heat supplied a Thermaskirt system for my parents in Scotland in 2009. They were real bibliophiles and didn’t want to waste wall space on radiators and underfloor heating was out as it would have required digging out the existing floor so Thermaskirt was ideal. It’s worked really well and does exactly what it says on the tin! Even better, when we are forced to move from a gas boiler we’ll be able to switch to air source heating without difficulty; brilliant!

I have had one of there radiators in for about 4 years without any issues. Works great. Last week the plumber but the pressure up to 2 bar and this caused a joint to come apart. I contacted DH and they asked for some photos. I send them a few hours later and within 5 minutes got a call from them saying that not been fitted correctly and a part was missing(My fault). They then sent the part out FOC the next day. I can't fault that service and would highly recommend there radiators.

I recently fitted ThermaSkirt (Deco profile) to a bedroom we were updating.The room had a single radiator, and we always had problems with the other end of the room being cold. As a competent DIYer I was able to get to grips with the system and follow the comprehensive instructions to plumb ThermaSkirt into the existing radiator inputs and round 3 walls of the room (with "dummy" profile on the 4th). It now gives a lovely even heat around the room, with less plumbing and upheaval than fitting another radiator (let alone underfloor heating). Added benefit of nice new painted skirting and no radiators taking up wall space. Martin and Ric at Discrete Heat were very helpful on phone and email with specifying what was needed and aftersales support.
