My friends and I stumbled across this lovely cafe when we were in Bedford for a gig. I recommend the frappe..really refreshing. Decent seats and tables outside and inside. Staff very helpful and polite. Toilet facilities were great

My wife and I arrived at Bridges this morning without booking a table, this was not a problem as we were accommodated by the staff without question. My wife ordered the multi seed sourdough bread. However when it arrived it was clearly not sourdough. When my wife pointed this out to Alice and Retina two of the servers, Alice was very apologetic and she immediately offered to change the order. My wife declined as she didn't want to make a fuss. When we received our bill from Retina she informed me my wife's order had been removed and was given free of charge. This I deem as excellent customer service. After a previously disappointing visit to Bridges, this level of customer service in my opinion is paramount for a successful business to thrive and will ensure a regular flow of happy customers. Having dined for breakfast before at the Albero lounge and eaten their classic favourite Shakshuka, it was interesting to see that Bridges have now updated their menu to include this popular dish. I felt compelled to order the Shakshuka only to compare the two in presentation and taste. My conclusion when comparing the two dishes was that both delivered on taste and presentation and I would not hesitate to order the Shakshuka from either in the future. If I really wanted to nit pick, I would have to say the I would prefer my Shakshuka to be serviced with ciabatta bread. However overall in my opinion both dishes were a success!!!! I took my wife to Bridges this morning for breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful, and Sian was attentive to are needs as usual. Bridges had a varied breakfast and brunch menu at what we felt were reasonable prices. I ordered 'the meadow' which was nice twist on a traditional English breakfast/brunch. For a relaxed and friendly atmosphere then Bridges is right up your street. Once again we attend Bridges for breakfast and once again they pull out all the stops!!! This is how an eggs benedict should be presented. Pen and Cob take note!! 31/5, We arrived at Bridges around 10.30 where breakfast was still being served. However having spoken to our server who was very polite and helpful, she said it was fine to order from the lunchtime menu. So I decided to order the Lebanese shredded lamb flat bread with roasted peppers. I was not disappointed with my choice. The lamb was very tender, nicely spiced and seasoned perfectly with a nice touch of pomegranate seeds scattered across the top to add a touch of sweetness and luxury. Another pleasurable visit. Compliments to the chef!!!

Bridges Espresso bar has become our new favourite over the past few months. The staff are always friendly and the food lovely. I organised a catch up with a group of 14 friends and Beckie, Sam & the team were excellent. The food was brilliant and catered well for both our vegetarians and gluten free members. The service was faultless and we were well looked after even though they were extremely busy and it was a Saturday night.

They have some nice things on the menu and coffee was great. Watermelon iced tea didn't taste anything like watermelon though. Lovely ambience and upbeat music. They even have a dinner menu and do drinks in the evening.

Nice surroundings, drinks were good, however took over 15 minutes to arrive. We were refused an Affogato after 9pm because apparently you need a chef to scoop ice cream. In fairness the Affogato was listed as a desert, however any decent coffee shop should realistically be able to serve one of these without an issue. Especially as they were serving complex alcoholic milkshakes and cocktails. It shouldn’t have really been an issue and the staff seemed quite dismissive about it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A popular coffee shop with a nice view to watch the world go by. There's a good selection of teas and coffees as well as delicious cakes presented to a high standard. Meals are similarly well presented and tasty, if a little expensive. It's convenient for visiting the Harpur Centre for shopping or for a walk along the river.

Bridges never disappoints! Whether its for breakfast, lunch or dinner there is something for everyone and trust me I have been enough times to have EVERYTHING on the menu! The sharing boards in particular are great for when there’s a group of you and you simply cannot decide what you want for the mouthwatering menu! The cocktails are beautifully and carefully prepared! The strong addiction to the salted caramel espresso martini is insane! It’s the perfect place to stop for a quick coffee and cake but also for a night out with friends for some cocktails! It caters for all! The staff are always happy to help and a credit to the business! Thank you Bridges! ♥️

Had breakfast, which was expensive and unfortunately didn't quite meet the expectations. Some items on full English were cold and not very well cooked, and pancakes came with little to no syrup. Ordered gluten free bread with olive oil expecting it to be perhaps baguette with oils / butter / balsamic and it was literally loaf toast bread with olive oil. I had a bite it and almost gagged. Nonetheless , the staff were very helpful and immediately replaced it with something else.

Been here a couple of times now and the last time was with a couple of friends after receiving appalling service somewhere else where I used to be a regular however, this is my new spot! I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes and was out for a mini baby shower so wanted a little treat without sending my blood sugars up to dangerous levels. To do this, I was looking to have a coffee with sugar free syrup so that I could have a bit of cake. The staff were incredibly attentive and came back to me to check if other ingredients in the drink I ordered were OK or whether I wanted a substitute. They did the same with my friend who asked for coconut milk in her drink. They checked with her if she wanted vegan cream, although she only ordered that milk because she pfeferd the flavour of it. The staff seem to thoroughly enjoy their jobs and we had a really nice laugh with them. My friends ended up ordering main dishes from the menu as well as cake with their drinks because they were so impressed (I'd already had lunch unfortunately!) But I have had hot food here before, which was lovely. I highly recommend this place.

Meadows breakfast was great and presented superbly, and large cafe latte is excellent. Obviously good coffee beans and superb barista. The only downside was very loud music one day (I’m guessing when the manager was away as the next day, back to normal levels!) It’s honestly one of the best cafes I have been to. Highly recommended.

Went in after the cinema. What a little gem in Bedford! One of the best Chai Lattes we also had the thyme & Rosemary chips and mozzarella & chorizo chips. They were so nice! Fabulous range of luxury hot chocolates - I can thoroughly recommend the Biscoff one. Yummy! Good food too, but be prepared for a fairly long wait! Updated April 2022: No long wait at all any more! (My previous review was during relatively early lockdown restrictions). Their espresso martinis are superb, as is their flat white salted caramel martini. Pretty amazing! Definitely worth a visit.

Top marks for looking after us customers 💫⭐🌟✨ So after a terrible experience with the owner of another independent coffee shop (Coffee with Art), who wasn't happy with my review, I was reluctant to go to any local coffee shop and thought best to stick to London with better service. However I just popped in once to Bridges as I needed some water on my walks in COVID and I was astonished a place like this exists in Bedford. The menu, coffee and interior. I was glued! On my 3rd visit I found a lovely lady picking up rubbish in the court and when speaking and helping... it turned out she was the owner! She was amazing and didn't want me to help picking the rubbish to keep the public court area clean but thinking of others! I can see why the service is great here, she leads by example and I'm a loyal supporter who will be bringing all my friends and family. Best coffee shop in Bedford and I have tried them all, this one is best by far! And in all areas from food, drinks, interior, service, LOCATION and a humble owner who deserves to be supported 💐

The food is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. COVID measures are all in place and all the tables are well distanced with great cleaning measures in place. Visited on the 15th of this month, ordered a cod goujons in batter inside a ciabatta, with side order of triple fried chips. The food was great, both in taste, and appearance. Lovely location near the river ouse in bedford a little pricey but very nice choice, only thing would suggest they get some sort of shade set up outside not only for humans but also for passing trade whom are walking their dogs by the river and might be nice if they put water out for the dogs especially in the hot weather
