I have visited this place with my sister and son as he is obsessed with sushi 🍣 the place is quite small and feels a bit cramped but it has a lovely atmosphere to it. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The menu is overwhelming with the variety of food so even the most picky eater will find something they will enjoy! The presentation of the food was very fun and I definitely recommend this place!

Only in Belfast for three days and selected this restaurant based on previous reviews. We weren’t disappointed. Small friendly restaurant and great food. Had a mixture of gyoza, tempura, skewers and edamame - all delicious.

Main reason to visit this place was because I wanted to try mochi desert. And yes, I liked it so much. So definitely coming again. Apart from that, ordered salmon ramen (don't remember precise name anymore) which was very tasty, a bit of spicy but nothing overboard. My husband loved the beef one. And in general were really happy about the place. Special thank you to the staff, very friendly and polite. Another thing that I just loved, was the atmosphere. Finally no loud music. The space is actually quite small, however this wasn't an issue. I think it was so relaxing, that finally you don't need to shout to communicate to othe person. Some nice chilling music, that just make you relax and really enjoy everything. This for me is the the main reason why I would come back again. And of course mochi. So definitely recommend to visit this place.

We visited on a Saturday evening which got quite busy after 8pm (definitely book if you can!). We both ordered the ramen (chicken ramen and kimchi chicken ramen) which were both delicious! The soups were fairly spicy, there were great toppings and the noodles tasted fresh. The food was great, the restaurant was nicely decorated and clean, the staff were incredibly friendly, however the prices were just a little higher than expected. Will definitely be back!

The Vegetable Gyoza were really delicious. I personally have mixed feelings about the Kimchi Beef Ramen noodles. I enjoyed the toppings: the slices of beef were tender and the kimchi was flavorful. However, I was disappointed with the type of noodles they used. I was expecting Japanese style ramen noodles instead of the curly noodles I had. Also, my dish had a large amount of beansprouts in it. The service was brilliant and the restaurant is lovely. This was my first time visiting the restaurant but I promise to be back to try some of the other dishes!

Today I got takeaway from this restaurant. The miso soup and the sushi was all Tokyo standard food. Catered our private 40th birthday. The food was fantastic, everyone commented on the high quality and it was all gone swiftly. They also helped sort me out with Bento boxes and chopsticks. Best japanese food we have had for a while. Seafood ramen was filled with goodies including fried fish, squid and shrimps, served in homemade vegetable broth. Tatsuya chicken (fried chicken served in teriyaki sauce with lots of veg) was also nice, and steamed rice was gone before long. My kid loved the yakisoba under kid's menu but I thought it was a little bit too salty for my taste; however, the ice cream that was included with the kid's meal more than made up for that. Overall a bit pricey but still worth it in my opinion. Will likely come back to try their sushi and other types of ramen later.

Tempura is really good, squid is fresh, highly recommended. The sushi is fair enough. Service is really good. However, the ramen is NOT the Raman in Japan, more likely a mix of Western and Chinese receipts. A bit pricy with such quality.

Great place to get an introduction to the Japanese gastronomy. Been there a few times already and the quality always kept it high standard. Lunch deal are great value added but a bit pricey in the evening. Outside is not terribly appealing, thought it was only takeaway at first, so inside was a pleasant surprise, nice atmosphere, all tables full but you aren't crowded, very nice service, good food - gyoza and chicken ramen mostly, the one plate of sushi we had got a very good review, and could see lots of sushi platters on other tables being enjoyed. Walking around Donegal Pass which is also known as little China Town looking for somewhere different to eat. Never really tried Japanese before so stopped into Kamakura Sushi. It has a very homely feel and we were met with a friendly smile and given a table in a cosy corner. Don't really know how to say this but it's the nicest food i have ever had! My wife said exactly the same thing. Mixed starter dishes which included chicken kebab and sushi and omg shrimp in light batter was sensational. Main course of grilled Salmon Japanese style was superb. We ended staying over 2 hours!! Owners came over and said hello also which was lovely. Cold bottles of Peroni zero complemented the food brilliantly. Can't wait to go back. Found the perfect place Paul and Erika

I love pho, and u know wat, I dint expect they have that nailed in belfast! Especially the lime wedges in the soup...hahaha yeah they actually made ramen into pho but i like the flavor, and i was cravin for pho anyway. We were very impressed with our experience at Kamakura. We got the teriyaki soba salmon (and also had the yasai tampura for starter between two people). The portion size of the salmon was perfect and left us feeling full however everything on the menu was quite pricey. We had delicious mochi ice cream for dessert which we'd highly recommend too. All in all, we were very satisfied with our meal and the atmosphere was lively but also easy to speak in.

The curry was not traditional Japanese curry, it was more a english yellow curry, but good. Ramen was spicer also then you would get in Japan, also good. Sushi was very good. Unagi seemed to be overcooked and slightly rubbery.

Finally, good sushi in Belfast! Friendly staff and swift service. The ramen and other noodle dishes, although good are over priced. 13 April Alas a disappointing visit. Overall quality has dropped and was presented with a bill over double what it should have been. I would understand if it was busy, but it wasn’t. I hope this was a once off.

The sushi here was superb and no worries of it sitting about as the place was very busy midweek. Lots and lots of telephone orders also. Can't wait to get back and will definitely try the ramen next time. Staff were really helpful regarding menu and friendly. Only 1 minor gripe was an additional charge for extra wasabi as most sushi places provide as much as you want for free.

I have very mixed feelings about Kamakura, the food was fantastic I have to say if this review was just about the food it would be 4 or maybe 5 stars but unfortunately the service was very disappointed, lady at the bar sat us down at our reserved table to then have another server come over 1 min later and ask if we have reserved the table? Ever heard of communication between staff members?! empty plates were sitting for 15 min before anyone noticed they were there even tho they have 4 people on the floor and 10 tables to serve, had the same server walk past our table 5 times with out taking them actually was debating if she was leaving it there as she didn't like to clean tables lol, 2 people setting up a table for 4 and when one finally came and took the plates someone else came 30 seconds later to see if there was anything to take, they just looked very unorganised... I could understand if it was busy as I work in the food industry too but this was utterly ridiculous! And once they took the plates no "would you like to see the deserts or coffee" just walked off so lost money there as we got ice cream and coffees somewhere else last thing to complain about it they tried to over charge us for kids menu..

This is the best sushi in Belfast for sure, and honestly probably the best sushi (and other Japanese food) I've ever had. We found out about the place almost by accident and decided to check it out for Saturday night dinner. We had unagi nigiri, ebi tempura rolls, kabocha korokke and ebi gyōza, as well as a giant "house mixed tempura". The portions were huge, far bigger than we had expected - we managed to eat almost everything bar a couple pieces of tempura, and everything tasted amazing. The decor in the place is adorable too, and the staff are really friendly. We'll definitely be back for regular date nights - this is my new favourite restaurant!

Toilets present and clean? Yes but located at a strange place. So why not 5 stars?...; as much as possible eaters are “stuffed” inside the restaurant which results its getting to crowdy. With tables that are far to small to put all the food on you might become a bit claustrofobic and you might ask yourself to come back a second time. Besides that, the beer that was served that particular evening was not served cold. Come back again?.............YEP!
